download the moto casino app today it's mojo in the morning i went back to chicago what two three weeks ago or something like that that's where i grew up in the south side of the city of chicago and i went back and visited a whole bunch of buddies and one guy that i reconnected with that we went to grade school and high school together had the craziest story happened to them over the weekend that I want to see if any listener can actually tell us if this is a common or an uncommon thing. My grade school buddy who I just saw called me to tell me that he was engaged to be married yet I didn't even know he was dating anyone. When we met and saw each other, which when was the 4th of July holiday? So a month ago. So a month ago. Yeah. All right. When we dated or when we got together, he had nobody in his life. Because I asked him, I said, are you dating? He goes, occasionally. But nobody's serious. I said, are you dating anybody? No. You know, he's like really not really into that. Over the weekend, he sends me a text that he is engaged. And his engagement happened when he got drunk. He met a girl two weeks ago. So within a week or two or so after I had seen him for the first time in years and we got together, and they got drunk engaged over the weekend. And I said, are you guys like drunk engaged? Like, you're not going to get married because you were drunk when you did it? He goes, no, we're going to get married.

00:03:28 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 1:

Wait, did he have a ring?

00:03:30 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 7:

He went and got a ring. He got a ring. Here's the thing. He went and got a ring because he knew that he was going to ask her not to get engaged. This guy, by the way.

00:03:40 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 1:

Oh, please don't say it was a promise ring. You know how I feel about that. What's wrong with a promise ring?

00:03:45 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 7:

Come on.

00:03:46 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 1:

In high school?

00:03:46 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 7:

If you're a grown-ass human being, you should not get a promise ring, okay? Okay? Promise rings are okay, Megan. Please, no. In your middle school. I want a promise ring. In your middle school.

00:03:55 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 1:

No, I want promise Louboutins. I want a promise car. Very different. Very different. I want all the promises. A promise car.

00:04:05 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 7:

So over the weekend, over the weekend, they were partying, and they were having fun, and they were drinking, and they had some friends over there. And he had said something about the fact that he met this girl. I grew up south side Chicago. There's a city called Crestwood that's there. Nothing for the added value of the story if you don't know what the area is. Crestwood to me is kind of like Warren here. And he goes, I found a Crestwood girl. That was his joke that he said because he found a girl that he said was a down to earth girl that wasn't, you know, into high, you know, fashion and crazy. She was not materialistic.

00:04:41 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 1:

I didn't put a lot of emphasis on that, sure.

00:04:43 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 7:

And so he said, I finally found her, and they were sitting there drinking all weekend long and having fun with friends. And on a drunk whim, he proposed to her, and now they're getting married. And I love it because it's the first time this guy's ever been married. And so this is his, you know, going to be his first go-around with this.

00:05:00 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 1:

whole thing and most of us have kids that are you know in my case my kids are hell almost grown you know i got a high schooler um but um the guy is getting married and so we're all talking about on a group chat all of us from high school are talking about the fact that should we even plan a bachelor party because we don't know if it's going to go through or not because he literally just met has that has that ever happened anybody where you just meet somebody within a couple weeks you get engaged and your engagement happens when you're drunk remember 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 text is 95500 i'd love to uh i'd love to hear your story so do i wait they're talking about their their the thought is next summer is when they're gonna get married they want to do summer

00:05:48 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 5:

00:05:59 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 1:

00:06:12 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 2:

00:06:22 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 1:

How you doing?

00:06:23 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 3:

My cousin was actually on the show, Married at First Sight, and he's been with the same girl for six years.

00:06:29 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 1:

Are you serious?

00:06:29 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 3:

Wow.

00:06:30 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 5:

So I've never actually sat down to watch that show. How long did they really know each other before they got married? None? Like minutes?

00:06:38 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 3:

They didn't know each other at all. They didn't know each other at all. They met at the altar.

00:06:43 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 5:

And so that really is true? Like there's not a behind the scenes there?

00:06:45 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 3:

Yep.

00:06:46 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 5:

Wow. Nope.

00:06:48 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 3:

Which couple was it? Anthony. I don't know if I really want to say the last name, but...

00:06:55 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 1:

I mean, they were on there. But they were from Michigan or Ohio?

00:07:00 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 3:

No, one's from Chicago, one's from Michigan.

00:07:03 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 1:

Okay. All right. Wow. Why do you watch that show, Megan?

00:07:07 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

I did. I watched one and a half seasons. It's interesting.

00:07:12 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 1:

Kirsten? Yes. How you doing? I'm doing good.

00:07:17 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 4:

How are you?

00:07:18 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 1:

Where are you? You sound like you're in, are you in like a factory or something?

00:07:24 - 00:07:28 | Speaker 4:

I'm actually headed to Toledo. I'm from Maranci.

00:07:29 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 1:

What's that noise, though? What are you? Are you on the highway, like on a bicycle?

00:07:39 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I'm on a bicycle.

00:07:42 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 1:

You're on a bicycle. Sounds like the walkie-talkie to watch.

00:07:45 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 4:

actually so uh i met my husband uh through a friend a mutual friend yeah and um did uh like wanting to get married like a month into our relationship and then we uh we got married six months after we met i can't believe you can be spontaneous

00:08:09 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 1:

I'll be honest. You guys are that spontaneous of people that you guys got married that fast.

00:08:16 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, we've been married for eight years. Oh, that's wonderful.

00:08:19 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 1:

And you guys are together. That's cool. Yeah. You're not really on a bicycle, are you?

00:08:25 - 00:08:25 | Unknown:

Oh.

00:08:27 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 1:

The key to that marriage is great communication. Erica, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:08:35 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 2:

Good morning, guys.

00:08:36 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 1:

Good morning. What's happening?

00:08:37 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 2:

I was with my husband at a bar. We were probably a month or two into our relationship, and he took his watch off of his wrist, put it on mine, and said, well, you marry me while drunk. We did eventually get really engaged about a year later, but, you know, I just thought it was a sweet moment.

00:08:54 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 1:

Wow. When he did it, did you keep the watch?

00:08:59 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 2:

He still has it somewhere, but he doesn't really wear it anymore because now he works in, like, the construction industry. So, you know, but it's somewhere in our house.

00:09:05 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 1:

Did you think he was serious or did you think that he was just trying to get laid?

00:09:10 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

No, well, that he was what?

00:09:12 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 1:

Trying to get laid.

00:09:14 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 2:

I mean, he was already getting laid, so that wasn't really bad.

00:09:16 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 1:

No, I know. I understand that. But that night, though, you know what I mean?

00:09:19 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 2:

I thought he was joking in the moment, but then the next day, I was like, so was that real? And he was like, oh, yeah.

00:09:28 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 1:

Wow.

00:09:29 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 2:

I was like, okay, well, let's just simmer that down a little bit. Yeah.

00:09:33 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

See, I'm an orgasm I love you guy. I say I love you when I orgasm. I know there are some people that are proposal people when they orgasm. You know what I mean? Like when you're having sex and you're like, I'm going to marry you. What a confidence booster. Yeah. I love everything at that moment. What's going on, Sarah? Hi. Hey, what's going on, Sarah? Did you get...

00:10:00 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 3:

Drunk, engaged?

00:10:01 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 7:

So I met my ex-wife while I was drunk, and I didn't really, like, remember her too much. We met in Canada at, like, a Windsor trip, and she was from New York. So we just kind of, like, did, like, a long-distance relationship for probably, like, two weeks, and then we met up in Niagara Falls, and we got engaged.

00:10:23 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my gosh. And you ended up getting married because you called her your ex-wife. How long were you guys married for?

00:10:29 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 7:

Six years. Oh, wow. All right.

00:10:32 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 3:

And do you look back on it and say that you shouldn't have done it because of the circumstances?

00:10:38 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 7:

Honestly, no, because it's kind of like a life experience, I just feel like.

00:10:43 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:10:43 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 7:

I don't know. Everything happens for a reason. And I met my soon-to-be husband because of her. So we just, you know.

00:10:51 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 3:

Wait, hold on a second. Yeah. So you met your wife while in Canada. And then you met your soon-to-be husband.

00:10:58 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 7:

through her so yeah we're going moved a lot because she was in the military so the last place that we moved i ended up meeting him and it was just like love at first i honestly i didn't believe in it but i saw him and i was like this just isn't gonna work out and we both agreed me and her and we're like yeah this isn't you know wow were you always with women at the time that

00:11:20 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 3:

you met her or was that just an ex you know exploratory thing no it's definitely been more

00:11:25 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 7:

men than women um i think like two women before her but mostly men my whole life so okay okay
