This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:01:07 - 00:01:52 | Speaker 5:

My name is Patrick Pettway, and I am getting my Associates of Science and General Education with an emphasis in business administration. To me, it was a no-brainer. When you go out here and you're looking for funding to go back to college as a 40-year-old man, I got six people in my household. The extra money just doesn't just grow out of trees. for me to be able to be accepted through FAFSA and to have Bishop State pay for all of my tuition. Not only that, but the curriculums, you know, they make it so easy to understand on their website. Like I said, I'm a 40-year-old man, so I don't use technology too much, but it was very understandable where I needed to go. It was extremely fast. These past two years, things have just moved in a total different type of way. It's like its own moving entity to see things manifest the way that they do.

Mojo in the morning. We had an issue yesterday on our show that came up after the show was over with. It actually came up later in the evening, which is wild, because I think that they were going through everything just trying to charge more hours to iHeart. But the iHeart attorneys came through with a cease and desist on us doing a contest. They told us that we had to get rid of the idea of doing the contest that we were going to do to give away a $1,500 ticket master exchange gift card to go be able to buy tickets to Saturday night's game. They said that the contest could potentially hurt our listeners. And I think that they didn't understand that our listeners want to get hurt. They want that opportunity. Like, this is an opportunity for them to, you know, win tickets. It's like, come on, what kind of a fan are you if you don't want to get hurt? But I get it. I understand. And they gave all kinds of good excuses of, you know, why it would not be a good idea. So we had to change that contest late last night. So it is time now here on the Mojo in the Morning Show for us to announce the new contest idea that we have for winning this from House of Hummus. which, by the way, we'd like to shout out the House of Hummus people because these guys are, like, seriously the nicest human beings ever. They're personal friends of Lydia. Lydia is actually going to be out. She'll be out on Saturday at one of their locations. I'll explain coming up here in just a little bit. But I got to say hey to Anthony and everybody over at House of Hummus. What was that, the hottie from House of Hummus' name that was in studio with us?

00:03:44 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 3:

That would be Amanda.

00:03:45 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 6:

Shout out to Amanda. Man, she was great. She brought a bunch of food in for us. The food was banging.

00:03:51 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 3:

Oh, if you guys are bored today, we're here. I know.

00:03:56 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 6:

We need a house of hummus in Eastern Market.

00:03:58 - 00:03:58 | Speaker 3:

So good.

00:03:59 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 6:

So here we go. So this is the contest right now. This is a chance to win this $1,500 Ticketmaster Exchange gift card. It's something that is a little less physically grueling to do. If you would like to win Friday morning on the Mojo in the Morning Show in still honor of Amaran St. Brown, we are dyeing your hair blue for the Lions.

00:04:27 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 3:

Which Kev wants to do anyway. Are you doing it? I think Zach's doing it.

00:04:31 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 5:

If we get to the Super Bowl, I'll dye it blue.

00:04:33 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 6:

Not before then, though. So you're not that big of a fan, I guess, huh? You won't have that hair for each? You're not going to work me in that. What, are you hoping that they don't go to the Super Bowl? That's why you're doing that?

00:04:43 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 3:

And we're talking permanent day. This isn't spray or like truck.

00:04:47 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 6:

Come on.

00:04:48 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 3:

It's permanent.

00:04:49 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 6:

I think you should do it. I think you should do it.

00:04:51 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 5:

I'm standing by what I said. I'm doing it. We go to the Super Bowl.

00:04:54 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

All right, so here's the deal. When we go. Here's the story. If you want to go to the game, you got to.

00:05:00 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 1:

Dye your hair blue. You got to go blue to go to the game. Go blue or go home. That's right. Honolulu blue. So if you want to be part of this contest, we want you right now to do this. Call 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Here's the story, though. With the other contest, you had to do the headstand. This contest, and I don't know if the attorneys are going to say, what do we do about people that don't have hair? If you don't have hair, you can't be in the contest. because if you don't have hair, we can't dye your hair for this one. So it's impossible. So here's the story. You've got to have hair to do this thing. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. I think this one, honestly, is a bigger deal than doing the headstand because you're going to be seen. People are going to see you. And I don't know how long this dye is going to be in your hair, but I'm guessing that that dye is going to be in your hair for a long time. And you know what? It should be, right? because you're going to win tickets to go to what some are saying. Are you doing this story in this dirty at all, or can I tell that story?

00:06:03 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 3:

You can tell the story.

00:06:05 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 1:

This ticket, by the way, has now become the richest ticket in sports. The tickets for Saturday's game. They're saying that the game between the Lions and the Commanders is the most expensive game in NFL history. That's crazy. With crazy prices of tickets for certain seats. I can do the prices if you want.

00:06:24 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 3:

Save or are you going to do it now?

00:06:26 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, give some of the prices. These are for the good seats.

00:06:28 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 3:

So on TickPick, the average purchase price for the game, average, $980. The lowest game in price for the Detroit-Washington game, which I think they're all gone as of this morning I checked, was $460. I think now it's back up to $581. The most expensive seats can be found on Vivid Seats where you could purchase a lower level, section 128 seat, one ticket for $6,105. And by the way, this is a fun fact. Each of the top three most expensive non-Super Bowl NFL games have all been played at Ford Field.

00:07:03 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 1:

Unreal. By the way, be careful. She said tick pick. If you do it differently, you're on a porn site. So be careful. That's on you. Richie. Don't use your word computer. What's up, Richie? Hey, how's it going? Good. You got hair? Yes, I do. Would you dye it blue? Would you go blue to go to the game? Absolutely. I love this guy.

00:07:26 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 2:

I'm going to pay my face for the Lions.

00:07:27 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 1:

Oh, I love this guy. Well, we're not going to go that far. Don't worry about that. We're not dying skin. We'll get ourselves into trouble later for a contest like that. All right, hold on one second. Lydia's going to get your information, bud. We appreciate you. Oh, my God, Danielle, you've got beautiful hair. You'd be willing to do this?

00:07:45 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 2:

I will.

00:07:46 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. Can't you get, like, your husband or boyfriend to do this thing?

00:07:50 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 2:

Yes, because the tickets would be for them. Can I switch spots after the call? Can you do it instead?

00:07:57 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 1:

I don't know. Talk to Lydia about that one. Seriously, this is going to be permanent dye. This is going to be dyed just like you would be probably, I don't know. Do you dye your hair right now, or are you a natural?

00:08:09 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 2:

I do, actually, quite expensively, to be honest. Oh, my God. It was very hard to get out, too. For the lions, for the lions, it'll grow out. It'll grow out.

00:08:19 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 1:

You know what? You're a true blue fan.

00:08:21 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 2:

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Wait a second. You can't wash it out? No, it's permanent. That's what I just said.

00:08:28 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 1:

It's in your hair. I don't know what that means. It's in your hair until your hair grows out.

00:08:31 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 2:

It'll fade. No, I've had blue hair for years. Blue is the hardest to get out out of all of them. Is it really? It really is. I have a good hairdresser.

00:08:41 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 1:

I didn't know that. Think about this, Kev. You're going to get your hair dyed. You can't just do food coloring or something like that. That's what I was thinking. When you said permanent and then you made the distinction between that and spray, I'm like, okay, yeah, it's not spray. I didn't think it was, like, in there, in there. You got to do it just like Amonron, who does, you know.

00:09:00 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 2:

I'm still locked in.

00:09:01 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 1:

What's up, Tawny? Are you there, Tawny?

00:09:04 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 2:

I am.

00:09:05 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 1:

You want to do this, too?

00:09:07 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 2:

No, so I'm actually volunteering my father. Does he know this yet? We actually just talked about this, like, two days ago. I was like, hey, Dad, you ready to dye your hair? He did it last year as well, and he was like, yeah, let's get it done. So this was perfect.

00:09:21 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 1:

Does dad have hair, or has he lost his follix?

00:09:25 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 2:

So he doesn't have as much as he once did, but he does have hair. It's gray, so the blue latched on really nicely.

00:09:33 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 1:

Interesting.

00:09:34 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 2:

Are we allowed to nominate other people, though?

00:09:36 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, there's controversy. Lydia, what happened? Well, she's got to get that guy on. She's got to get his agreement on the phone, so that's going to be the thing. But all right, hold on one second.

00:09:44 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 2:

Oh, he's agreeing.

00:09:45 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 1:

All right, he's agreeing, or he'll lose a daughter. All right, hang on one second. Again, you can call right now We'll do 5 Lies, tell your mom You can call Lydia right now And she'll get you in for this contest on Friday And then we'll pick for an opportunity to win tickets.

00:10:02 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 3:

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:10:55 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 1:

I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, people in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be there you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State, with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.
