Mojo in the morning show. Home of the phone scams, the war of the roses and the dirty on the 30. So Megan is back this morning. She was off yesterday taking a three-day weekend after going away to Chicago. You heard us talking about that. And we talked on the phone yesterday because we had a bunch of stuff after the show that she did join us for. We had a couple meetings that happened. And then I left here to go to the grocery store to go pick up stuff for Chelsea to make her infamous tortilla soup, which is so good. We had that last night. I love that soup. It's my favorite. So I go around the store, and as I'm talking on the phone to Megan, I put in my Beats AirPods or Air Buds. They don't call them pods if they're Beats, right? It's only if you're wearing the Apple ones. Earbuds. So I'm walking around the store, and I'm that guy. Because I always get yelled at by my son, Luke, because he says that I'm obnoxious and I'm the speakerphone talker as I'm out in public. where I don't actually have the AirPods in, I actually will walk around with just the speakerphone and have the phone right up to me, and everybody can hear my conversation.

Oh, you're that guy.

Well, I was equally as annoying yesterday, Spike, because when I wear those headphones and I have them in my ear, I don't realize that I talk with a volume like this. Yes, you do. My volume goes higher, and I don't know. Are there any other listeners of ours or any of you guys that do this? Whenever you have your headphones on, you for some reason don't talk at a normal level. You talk at a so much louder level, which is interesting because I wear in-ears here. Like I have headphones on to talk to you guys. Yes. And I'm hearing my voice. But I think the problem is on the phone, you don't hear your voice. you just hear the person so i think that what ends up happening is i get loud talking and i start saying hi megan so what did you do on sunday and i'm having the conversation well here's where it got very very awkward i ended up running into a few listeners and actually megan called it out she's like geez you keep running into people and i ran into a some very nice listeners that came up And said hello And I was like hi how are you

And then I ran into A friend of mine Who and then Megan You probably heard it because I stopped and started talking For a little bit to him

Mojo also does this when he's made conversation with you He'll just stop and start talking to somebody else And you have to wait

Yeah I don't do the excuse me thing I kind of act like I'm not even on the phone with you And you're like, are you talking to me or are you talking to them? And so I had a conversation with him for a second and then went back to my conversation with Megan. And we talked about a lot of stuff. First off, I got a full-on critique of this radio program from yesterday from Megan. I felt like I was hanging out with Dennis Clark and John Ivey and they were giving us an air check session. Which we had yesterday, by the way, after the show. Telling me what she liked and didn't like.

I'd like to master the comma and let you know that Dennis Clark and John Ivey are people who work in the building who help make our show better as consultants. They're radio consultants, yeah.

Yes. Megan, that was something we learned yesterday, mastering the comma. But Megan did not like the second date update yesterday. She thought the second date update was rather boring, but I learned that. So this is what ended up happening. After our conversation that we had that basically was all over the store, I went to my phone and looked that my friend sent me some text messages. And in his text messages, it was, hey, you've got to be careful. I could hear your entire conversation aisles away. That's how loud you talk when you're on the phone. And I thought, oh, crap, because what did we say?

Oh, you're going back through your conversation frantically.

Yeah. What were we talking about?

What were you talking about? A lot of stuff. I don't want to hear. What were you talking about that you would be embarrassed for other people to know you were talking about?

Well, Megan going out drinking with my wife. Talked about that was one of the ones. I got very drunk with your wife. And that was one thing. And then a couple other things. We were talking about something that dealt with our show meeting yesterday where I made a comment about one of the people that was talking during the thing. And I thought, uh-oh, if that ever got back to them, that would not be good.

I already hear Mojo's voice when I go through the grocery store. I shop at Kroger and you hear him on the overhead. Courtside cravings. We've got slam dunks, sips, snacks, and more for your party. Hi, it's Mojo from Mojo in the Morning.

Now, when I'm on the phone with him, I hear his announcements on the overhead. He's shouting at me on my phone, and I also hear... The whole time. The whole time, I'm losing my mind And I'm sitting there, I'm like, it's fine It's fine, you're just talking to him Don't get irritated, it's not that big of a deal

But have we not talked on this show And everybody has come to the consensus About just, people are so rude When they have the big phone conversations in a store as they walk up and down aisles because you think they're talking to you and they're not and then they give you a dirty look when you actually look at them when you

think they're talking to you so here's the thing i'm codependent and i can't be alone in public for more than three minutes without just losing my absolute mind so i will be

on the phone the whole time i don't mojo is too like he always has to be on the phone

My dad also stream talks when he's on the phone, but he's also in his mid-60s.

I'm getting there, Joe. Thanks for pointing that out. I appreciate that. But you know what, though, Joe? I want you to see what you're like when you put some headphones in and you're listening to music and somebody starts talking to you. You start talking loud. I think you start talking to the level of what you're listening to.

Yeah. Yeah, I think that's a natural tendency, but you just got to be mindful that that's where you're going to want to go and try to talk at a normal level.

You know what's amazing? Go on any college campus and no kid even looks at each other or talks to each other because they all got their headphones in.

Yeah, my mom So it's not really on the phone But when she goes to the drive-thru Whether it's McDonald's, Taco Bell Or anything like that She'll be like having a deep voice Talking to us Like, hey guys, what do you want? And then as soon as she goes to order Her voice changes to the highest Mouse pitch thing I've ever heard It's insane

It is so true Because you're trying to be like Polite and happy and kind When you're ordering

And you want them to hear you Yeah, yeah

You want to be pleasant

I wonder if you do work at like Starbucks or, you know, McDonald's, any of the drive-thrus, are the people yelling their order to you, is it irritating to your voice or to your ears?

Well, and when I work drive-thru, you always hear both voices. You hear the car pull up, and then you hear the person, the mom going, I will beat you if you don't stop talking, if you don't act out. Hi, can I get a large Pepsi, please? I told you I'm not getting, we have cheeseburgers at home,

I'm not getting, and can I also get a cookie? That is so accurate.

And you hear the whole routine It's like schizophrenic parents

That's the other thing too And when you're talking to somebody on the phone That's like a friend of yours Like I was talking with Megan You don't realize that you're saying things That you would never say If the phone were pretty much up to your ear I think I told her to F off like three times I think there was like three times

where the F word came out, and it was probably so loud. Julie, what's up?

I called my husband on my way home from work on my Bluetooth in the car, and apparently I talk a lot louder in the car. He's like, why are you always yelling at me when you talk to me? I feel like I'm not yelling at you. And he's like, well, then why am I turning my volume down on the phone? And he's like, I don't know. Where are you from saying car like that? I'm from Port Huron.

Oh, they've got their own language in Port Huron. Their own dialect.
