Yes, yes, yes, yes. Thank you for being here. It's been an exciting morning so far. If you missed the War of the Roses, you've got to be listening at 9 this morning and hear the heartbreak of Emily's story, finding out that her fiancé was cheating on her. And a month before her wedding, he calls off the wedding saying that he just needs a little bit more time only to find out that there's something else going on. There's somebody else in his life. Hear it again coming up at 9 o'clock. Or if you have to leave us, go check out the podcast later today and you can listen to our War of the Roses. Shannon with The Dirty coming up this hour. We have another chance for you to go to Jingle Ball on the way. Actually, two more chances, so 8.30 and 9.30. Topics this hour are going to be good. Spike with the negotiation for a new pet. KP, our producer, with the bathroom streaker. And I'm going to talk about the best way to get an expensive Christmas gift this holiday season. The only problem is you have to pick a fight. We'll talk about that all coming up this hour on the Mojo in the Morning Show. We've got to welcome some guests in the studio with us today. Very excited to have them in because year after year, they've always been such huge supporters of this radio program. They are keeping us entertained, especially with the new Black Panther movie, the Wakanda Forever movie that's out this weekend. But they have been there for us day one with Breaking Enter and Christmas Wish. and even in their struggles with being, you know, not showing a lot of movies during the COVID time, they still were donating, even Paul personally donating right out of his pocket. Our good friends from the Imagine Theaters, Paul Glanz, Anthony, Nick, everybody in studio with us this morning, give it up for these guys. Give it up for them, please. Even if it's the fake cheers there, right? Do you hear that? You guys know what that's like. They do that in movies, right? They produce movies up a little bit like that. Paul, what was last weekend like? Was that exciting for you to see people coming out as big as they did for that movie?

00:03:45 - 00:04:01 | Speaker 6:

It was awesome. Just awesome to see folks come back. We know that when the product's good, they'll come. And the views in this film have been terrific. What a privilege to see people returning to life as we formerly knew it.

00:04:01 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 4:

And you're really committed. Look at you dressed as Black Panther today. This is amazing.

00:04:06 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 6:

He would, though. He's dressed up in the past. Absolutely.

00:04:11 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 5:

My favorite ever with you, Paul, is you are the nicest man in the world. You truly are. But you have the greatest spirit about you. And it's funny because to know your story and your background of your business life and then to hear that you were able to move into your dream, which was to own movie theaters, is awesome. And everything that you see about Paul on that screen beforehand telling you to shut your phone off and the fun that he that he has doing all those those great uh uh pre-roll videos you are you

00:04:42 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

truly are awesome you're great to the community well thanks i can tell you feel really genuinely sorry for my past having worked in accounting yeah how did did that drive you crazy every day that was like going to work wasn't it that was the day job yeah

00:05:00 - 00:05:01 | Speaker 2:

That's how I fed the family for many years.

00:05:02 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. And then doing this. And your wife, by the way, is such an angel. The fact that she supports and keeps you clothed like that. I said to Paul, Anthony, I go, that's a nice jacket. I go, you look good. That's a nice jacket. And he goes, my wife. Mary's dressing in these days. Man. Anthony, tell me, because I talked to you on the phone yesterday. I was asking you about concessions last week. You said the concessions last week were some of the biggest concession sales that you guys have had in years?

00:05:31 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, we had some really unique, fun items. We had specialty tins that were made to hold your popcorn that were shaped like Wakanda and some masks and other tins. And then we obviously sold the Big Sean t-shirts with his close relationship with Chadwick. So it was all around an amazing weekend, and it's nice to see folks back in the theater.

00:05:55 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 4:

That's cool. You guys, year after year, I've said this, have helped Breaking Night and Christmas Wish, which you know then helps families in our area. And you guys don't just do that for us, but you also do something that I wanted to share with the listeners. They are such a huge contributor also to Jay, our good friend Jay Towers, and Jay's Juniors.

00:06:15 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:06:15 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 4:

Sending kids who are battling illness to Disney and being able to go. They donate to them a ton and help him raise a ton of money. I think of the the stuff that you guys do and I and I appreciate you so much for for doing it because without you we can't we can't uh you know grant the wishes that we do we're very fortunate

00:06:35 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 2:

to be in a position to uh try to help those who are less fortunate in our society yeah and it's it's really a privilege it's it's not an obligation it's a it's truly a privilege and for those of us who've been so blessed uh I think it's only appropriate that we should um give a hand up to those who are struggling.

00:06:53 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 1:

Well, we can't underscore how many major companies there are in Metro Detroit that don't give back to the community. And it's so funny because we've been watching a pattern the last few years of people blaming the pandemic for the reason they can't. And when in reality, the pandemic is the reason we need this more than ever. But I just wanted to point that out because you guys, through the pandemic, when there was every right, when your theaters were closed and you had no income, I mean, you were worried about paying rent on some of your property, but you were still keeping that check coming in to make sure the Christmas wishes continue.

00:07:26 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 4:

I wouldn't even ask you guys. Anthony kind of goes, hey, what about the donation? Anthony, I'm not asking you guys. Because I knew there was the struggle to stay open and try to abuse your employees. We did the outdoor theater. I forgot about the outdoor theater. I don't even want to think about that. Let's move on past all that stuff.

00:07:42 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 3:

I remember Shannon and I freezing outside. You made it work.

00:07:47 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 4:

But honestly, that was so beautiful. So let's talk about what the donation is. Nick, will you hold that check up for me? Will you grab that check over there in the corner? I want to read it right off the thing. Ready? Mojo in the Morning, Breaking and Entering, Christmas Wish. $30,000 to us. $30,000. And reading the letters and knowing how much everyone needs this, we are going to use that money wisely, and we are going to make sure that some families who would not have even just lights on or heat on are going to be able to have that in presence for their kids, too. So thank you guys so much, Paul and Anthony and Nick. We appreciate you guys so much. What do you got going on this next few weeks? Do we have any other big movies besides the Black Panther that are coming out?

00:08:33 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, Christmas has some exciting stuff. You have the next Avatar, finally, after many years of waiting. And something that I think folks will really be excited about is the Whitney Houston film, I Want to Dance with Somebody. I want to see that so bad. Everybody wants to see that. Yes, I am so excited. It will be terrific.

00:08:48 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 1:

By the way, they're also doing these cool flashback holiday weekends where you can go see old movies. You can go see Elf on the big screen or White Christmas, the Polar Express. That's so fun.

00:08:58 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 3:

We're shooting National Lampoon's Christmas.

00:09:00 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God, that's so fun.

00:09:01 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 3:

That's so fun.

00:09:03 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 4:

Wow, that's awesome. Is there any way that we, for I Want to Dance with Somebody, we could do a Whitney Houston night where we all go and just sing karaoke and sing some Whitney Houston before the movie? That would be great. Are you asking us or you're asking that? No, I'm saying us as a show. Yes, absolutely. We'll go in there We'll do that I love you guys so much For what you do for us I want you to know That anything you ever need From us We're there for you Listen I'd kill for you guys I really would But just don't tell anybody That I would do that By the way

00:09:32 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 5:

My daughter Lucy And Paul you already know this She thinks you are The biggest celebrity When she sees pictures Of me and you in my phone And so when I tell her That I have to get a selfie With you today She's gonna be like
