All right, it is mojo in the morning. It seems like everybody's on vacation this week. There's a lot of the schools that are off for spring break, and I've noticed that any time that I've made a phone call to anybody to try to set up something, it's like, oh, I'm sorry, but they're off this week. They're with their family on vacation.

00:01:49 - 00:01:51 | Speaker 1:

Or you call them and you hear the ocean in the background.

00:01:52 - 00:02:22 | Speaker 5:

Actually, it's funny. Screw you. I've been getting people that have been sending pictures, you know, of stuff. And the ones that are interesting is when somebody goes on a spring break vacation and they go to a cold climate. Because it doesn't make me go, eh, okay, I'm jealous. Like somebody sent me, I'm not a skier, so I'm not really big on that. But somebody that I know sent me pictures of them, you know, up north skiing. And I'm like, okay, great. All right. Nothing jealous around here. But, Mike, you're actually planning a trip here coming up very, very soon, right?

00:02:22 - 00:02:27 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, end of the month, we're going to Florida, like the panhandle of Florida, Miramar Beach.

00:02:28 - 00:02:28 | Speaker 5:

Nice. Fine.

00:02:29 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 6:

Do you know someone there? Why did you choose that location? So Allie's mom plans a family trip every year where the nieces and nephews and cousins and everybody gets together. We all stay in one Airbnb and spend the entire week together. And it's kind of cool. We've done it for the last three years. I think though I think though and I would love to hear stories Of like family vacation drama Stories or horror stories or whatever Because I think this is the year after three years of It being almost flawless Every single year I think there's Going to be drama this year Why is that? Well I don't want to because I got a March Madness Type bracket going on and who will be the first So I don't want to You want to give it away Well no until now because it's well yeah yeah that's fine uh because it's it's it's her side of the family so i don't want to like put it out there and and and spoil the chances of it going the way i pretty

00:03:28 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 5:

much think it's going to go so and plus you're going to florida too so you're going to florida where uh everything's crazy in in florida you know you need to get a florida man yes i think

00:03:39 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 6:

i just think that we've spent a few years together i think everybody's getting comfortable with each other we're gonna spend a week together and i know at the end of uh the last trip people started getting a little snippy started getting a little testy and there's we have a group chat a family group chat of like it's supposed to be for just vacation and it's like become other things now and you can just tell in the way that the conversations are going that it's it's going to be a little bit different now i don't ever say anything because it's not my it's not my immediate family, but it's very difficult not to make a smart-ass comment when people go back and forth like that. It's very

00:04:16 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 1:

hard not to do that. Without naming names or relationships, what do you think the big drama is going to be about?

00:04:22 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 6:

Can you say? Here's the thing. I don't think people can live together that normally don't live together for that long of a time without

00:04:30 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 5:

something happening. And you're all staying in the same place. Exactly.

00:04:33 - 00:04:36 | Unknown:

You're a pain in my ass!

00:04:36 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

We all have different lifestyles. we all have you vacation differently that's a big thing yeah yeah i know that somebody's flying in and wants to go drive all over but the rest of us are road tripping so like it's gonna be like they want to go do all these things and we are going to be driving already and not want to drive anywhere you know what i mean and so well they can go do their own thing then this is giving me ptsd

00:05:00 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 3:

Because all my mom ever wants is for her four children to be together, and she tries every few years to get us all together for a vacation. And the last time was Florida, and it was just a nightmare. Like, it's just everybody has different ideas. Everybody gets very stubborn in what they want to do. And some people, my sister, will, like, have issues with what everybody else is doing. And now we're trying to plan it again for this summer because my mom is turning 80, and all she wants is her children and grandchildren together. and it's the same thing mike it's just nobody can agree on anything and i know it's going to end in

00:05:36 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 1:

massive fights i know what do you do at that point because you're there you're stuck not stuck you want to be there but you're you're there you can't go anywhere now it's already started because my

00:05:45 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 3:

brother likes to do everything first class high end you know he makes more money than all of us so he likes he has a refined taste in hotels and vacations and my sister's always on a budget and trying to penny pinch and there's and then i'm in the middle yeah that shocks me and i'm in the middle and i just keep telling my sister like hey you know who your brother is just expect that out of him don't try and change him for the 20th time you're not going to get him to all cram into a three-bed airbnb let him do his thing he'll meet up with us if he wants to stay in a hotel he stays in a hotel stop setting yourself up for disappointment but it's gonna be a fight yeah get mad because you know i told you about last time my sister was like looking at the bill when we're supposed to split the restaurant four ways and she's like well i didn't eat the appetizer so i'm not gonna pay that oh that would just drive oh yeah we had an infamous family trip

00:06:38 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 2:

we call it the never go back to uh to uh northern michigan i knew you were gonna talk about this I rented a place up north, and we all stayed in the same place. And it was kind of similar to what Mike's saying. As the week goes on is when it gets really bad.

00:06:57 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 4:

And you have a humongous family.

00:06:59 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 2:

It's a big one. And it ended with Aunt Pat screaming out in the driveway and then racing off, not knowing where the heck she was going. And people trying to take, oh, it was horrible. and also the throwing up uh you know nephew who drank all the the booze that the adults had you know and got it was just a it was an awful thing so mike um and by the way listeners we're really making this sound great isn't it great to vacation share share your uh your vacation with others that turned out to be a nightmare your nightmare vacation stories because that's the thing with like when you stay at a home or an airbnb and you're all together you're right when you put two three four families together not everybody is you know simpatico there's a

00:07:51 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 3:

magic number i think the magic number is two families you can get along with two families you can come to an agreement on what you're going to do for the day and even then you might venture off split off and for a day and do your own thing but once you get three four or five

00:08:04 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 2:

families it's asking for trouble and by the way the listener just texted in as a really good one how many bedrooms and bathrooms in this place that you're staying in because that's a huge deal because like spike's sister with the three bedroom thing you know or just sharing bathrooms and sharing a bathroom in the morning yeah the annoying stuff of somebody wants to go out and eat breakfast the other people want to cook breakfast i mean it becomes the kind of what do we know what this place is going to be like that you're staying in uh well if it's anything

00:08:31 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 1:

like the the past few years i know that the families with kids have their own uh their own bathroom in this airbnb and their own uh their own bedroom too but then there's there's uh cousins that don't have kids that all kind of share their bathrooms together and it's going to be single

00:08:48 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 4:

people yes what happens to them you always get like just if you don't have kids and you go on a family vacation you you're gonna sleep on the floor nobody cares about you nobody It sucks.

00:09:01 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh.

00:09:02 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 1:

But we made it the first three years, and it's been fine. And then I think we all kind of separated and did our own thing at the end. But I think more and more as we kind of get comfortable with each other, everybody wants to do more stuff together. And I just, you know how you get that feeling? Like, you can just tell. It just feels like, yeah, yeah, something's going to come. I don't know that it'll be a big blow up, but it feels like something different.

00:09:20 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 3:

We need to get a psychic on to prepare you, to tell you exactly what's going to go down so you know. So I have my phone ready. Yeah. Yes.

00:09:30 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

The beauty is that your mother-in-law does all the planning of this thing, right? Yeah. And she's so nice. She, like, does all the planning to put it all together. And she wants it because, you know, grandmas want the grandkids all together and stuff. Maybe grandma just needs to take all the grandkids. And the adults who fight are the ones that need to stay away. Right. For her sanity. All right, Mojo in the morning. How did the big family vacation turn out to be a nightmare? What's going on, Stephen?

00:10:00 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 8:

How you doing? Good morning, everybody. Good morning. Good morning. So my sister, she likes to plan all the vacations. So when she did this, we went camping. And when we go camping, hold on, my sister. So when we went camping, she was trying to make sure that everything went her way. And if something didn't go her way, she started yelling at people. And then that made everybody else have tension against each other because they're like, why everybody got to be different? Why everybody got to do this? Somebody got to do that. Why we can't just all do the same thing I feel like how Spike's sister is Like if we don't stay in the same place How's that the vacation with our family Like we all Got to be in the same room together

00:10:40 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 3:

You want everybody in the same room So you like it It's fun at night when everybody's going to bed And they're all like hanging out with each other Having drinks or waking up in the morning

00:10:49 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 2:

Hang around the pool together Maybe have a big lunch or beach day together But it's hard to get a restaurant table For 19 people every night

00:10:57 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, and that's how my family is big, too, and that's how it is. So we have to split tables up, and then people will be at different tables, and they're like, I want to sit over here with this person. Yeah, it's a big headache.

00:11:09 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's crazy. And listen to those kids that you got there. Those kids are nutty, aren't they?

00:11:13 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, and they be running around and kind of calm the kids down and put the kids out.

00:11:18 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 3:

I can hear them there, yeah. Danielle, what's happening?

00:11:21 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 5:

Hey, my story would be that when we were on our spring break in high school, we went with our friends, three families, and they wanted to stay at this really nice resort in Orlando. But we wanted to party in Fort Myers. So we ended up having a big blowout, and the families actually split up, and we ended up driving to Fort Myers and ditching the other family at the resort. Oh, wow.

00:11:48 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 7:

Good for you.

00:11:50 - 00:11:57 | Speaker 3:

Mike, you know it's a bad vacation when you're looking for another place to stay, and that's what these guys ended up having to do. Oh, man.

00:11:57 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, we ended up staying at, like, a podunkey hotel, too, because that's all they had available. But I kind of get it. Like, you only get so many vacation days.

00:12:05 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:12:05 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 8:

You know what I mean? You want to make sure that it's worth it and you're not miserable the whole time. Right.

00:12:10 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 3:

What's happening? Carol, hi.

00:12:14 - 00:12:15 | Unknown:

Hi. How are you?

00:12:15 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 3:

Good. We're talking about the family vacation nightmare.

00:12:18 - 00:12:20 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, my mother-in-law

00:12:20 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 3:

What happened?

00:12:25 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 6:

We went on family reunion They go on family reunion every year And we went a couple years ago And she decided That she wanted to invite all her kids So she got a cabin for us But she's one of those like Oh, well, I did this for you So you guys have to do all this stuff And then not only that She just tends to drink a little bit too much So she's just one of those like I swear sometimes I feel like I'm Cinderella Like she's an evil mother-in-law And the last day we were there Me and my husband had gotten into a little argument And instead of correcting her son She decided to come up to me And scream at me in front of everybody Oh no

00:13:06 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 3:

Oh my god

00:13:09 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 6:

Oh no, yeah Once he found out that she got mad at me He got into her And this is the thing

00:13:16 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 3:

You're on her family's turf Like Mike's going to be on Allie's family's turf at this one So Mike's got to be on his best behavior

00:13:23 - 00:13:38 | Speaker 1:

See that's why I always I just sit back Unless it involves my family directly I just sit back and let it all happen And it's gone flawlessly Maybe it's because I don't say anything But it's gone flawlessly the last three years Well you're smart

00:13:38 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 3:

It's really nice though that she takes you guys Oh it's incredible Jeanette, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:13:48 - 00:13:50 | Speaker 4:

Hi, good morning. Good morning.

00:13:50 - 00:13:50 | Speaker 3:

Good morning.

00:13:51 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 4:

So my mother-in-law, ex-mother-in-law, and I got into a fist fight in a bathroom stall on Put-in-Bay. Oh, my God. Not surprised. Yeah. She started it.

00:14:04 - 00:14:07 | Speaker 2:

She started it. What was it over?

00:14:09 - 00:14:29 | Speaker 4:

We were both drinking, but over her son, like, him and I got into an argument. And she tried to jump in And it just escalated And we were wearing each other's shorts I was wearing her pants So I could ride the bull I was tearing up my legs So we went in the bathroom Saw the change back into our original clothes And she put her hands on me first

00:14:29 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 2:

Oh my god I love Put-N-Bay Put-N-Bay and fist fights go together

00:14:34 - 00:14:42 | Speaker 4:

There's like 20 moms and 20 kids out there Like all just standing there in shock Yeah, it was bad

00:14:42 - 00:14:46 | Speaker 5:

You know, it's going to be a mess when people are normally sleeping in the park when you wake up. Yeah.

00:14:47 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 3:

Was that the cause of your divorce? No. Okay. All right. I was wondering because that would have been interesting. Mike, will it be difficult for you to go on this vacation now that you're here?

00:15:00 - 00:15:01 | Speaker 6:

You just brought this topic up on the radio?
