Mojo in the Morning Show. So it's funny how when kids are kids that they look towards certain restaurants as being kind of fancy. And Mike's daughter Cecily's taste in restaurants has gone way up now to a point where Mike, for the daddy-daughter dance, you used to be able to take her to Big Boy. Now you have to take her somewhere fancier, huh?

Yeah, we used to go to Big Boy before we even went to daddy-daughter dances. Because if I'm being very, very real, we just didn't have, like, a ton. We had a house that was falling apart. We didn't have a ton of money to go out, and we were in a different place in our life. So, like, when we would go out, we'd take them to, like, Big Boy. And that was kind of our going out thing. And she thought for the longest time that this place was fancy. And, you know, it had all these, it had a giant statue when you walked in of this big guy. And we took a picture with it every time we walked in. And she got to pick whatever she wants on the menu. And there was always, you know, treats afterwards. And so that was fancy. So when we started going to daddy-daughter dances, that's where she wanted to go immediately. That's what she knew. And so, yeah, that was, you know, we've done it almost every single year. And then this year, Miss Fang decided that Big Boy wasn't it anymore. It's not the spot anymore, Dad. I want to go to where you and Mommy went and go to Leo's. You guys, that's like a... It's a little more expensive. That was a $200 bill. I'll be very honest.

It's where my daughter wants to go for graduation after Grand Valley's. It's very good.

I strongly recommend it, but it's like a once-in-a-while kind of place. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's like the graduation time for when you graduate from college, Cecily. Yes, yeah. And so she must have heard. What I'm guessing is Allie and her were talking, and it must have come up, like, where did you guys go on your Valentine's Day date? And, you know, that kind of stuff. And then we just went to hibachi a couple weekends ago, and that was fun. But, again, that's a little – that's not big boy. That's a little more pricier. That's a little more expensive. That's like a once in a while kind of thing. And her, I thought we would at least ride Big Boy out for at least a few more years. But it has changed. But do you remember the places you used to think you were fancy when you were a kid?

Oh, yeah. Big Boy. Big Boy for me because that was where we were only allowed to have dessert at Big Boy. And if you got dessert, that was fancy.

So for me, growing up is on the East Coast, but it was just like Big Boy. There was a chain of restaurants called Friendly's. Friendly's restaurants. I loved Friendly's. And they had a few around here, too. Yeah. But before I moved here after college, but growing up, that was the place you went on really special occasions, like you graduated eighth grade or maybe you won the Little League championship. So it was like you had to really celebrate. It was just a glorified Coney with ice cream.

Yeah. Ours was. And it was really like when we. would go on vacation we would go to Perkins that band came out and Bennegan's because Bennegan's was like kind of dark inside and yeah oh yeah I don't think Bennegan's I remember that yes that

was like real fancy vacation spot because through the eyes of an eight-year-old it's just something different and new my parents would never let us eat out never like I loved when my grandparents would watch us and on Thursdays in the summer because they would take us to McDonald's and And they'd always say, don't tell your mom. It was like our little secret.

That's funny that McDonald's was also kind of like that with us, too, because we never had McDonald's.

Yeah.

And my aunt would always pick if my aunt would pick us up from school or whatever, she would take us to McDonald's. And that was like the thing. Now we go to McDonald's like, you know, we blow our nose. The kids thought it was the, it's funny, the kids thought it was the coolest looking thing but hated the taste of the thing unless you dipped it into the sauce that they had. That little like mayo sauce or whatever it was there. But that was kind of like the cool place.

I think Outback was too expensive for my parents' taste, but Olga's, that would be one you might go to.

But to sign, there was a chef. It was a cartoon chef with a chef's hat on there. I'll never forget it. Yeah. 1979. The burger chef. I'm going to say something.

You know, yeah. But McDonald's now costs just as much as a steak. That's true. That is true.

It's like $12 for a meal. Like, if you got a quarter pounder with cheese or a double quarter pounder with cheese meal, it's like a $12 meal right now.

No, it's like $14 now. I'm not kidding. My daughter, like, I'm like, I can't do this.

I finally turned into my parents because I'm saying, nope, I'll make you a cheeseburger at home.

Our family always thought Olive Garden was so fancy. I don't know if it's the lighting, the Italian music they play, something about it. I thought it was the fanciest place ever. Oh, yeah. No, it's because you were family.

You walk into Fish Tank in the waiting area.

I would just eat a whole bag of Cheddar Bay biscuits by myself in my little apartment.
