It's Mojo in the Morning Show. Went to a bunch of fireworks. So all the lakes have fireworks for those that aren't in the Metro Detroit area. And I don't know. I'm sure this has got to be a lot of places because I know some friends of mine that are from Buffalo said that they were on their lakes watching fireworks or on the lakes watching fireworks. In Michigan, a lot of the lakes have fireworks. So it's been every single night of the week. There has been one of the bodies of water that are in Oakland County has been having fireworks. So I was invited to like five or six of them. Actually, one of them was our good friend, Neil. Shout out, Neil. So these fireworks are all over the place. Chelsea and I decided we were going to go to a couple of the fireworks. So we went to Orchard Lakes Fireworks, went to Union Lakes Fireworks. And here's, I'm going to tell you something. Fireworks are fabulous. The only problem with fireworks are they are all the same. No matter what you're looking at, it's the same. I don't care what fireworks display you go to. It's like boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. And then in the end, it's like boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Yeah, waterfall.

00:02:55 - 00:02:56 | Speaker 3:

What was the end? What was the end?

00:02:57 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 5:

Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.

00:02:58 - 00:03:03 | Speaker 3:

I didn't see any fireworks this 4th of July, so I needed that little show. You may be the only person. Really? Zero, bro.

00:03:03 - 00:03:06 | Speaker 5:

Oh, well, we got to get you some remnants of if you would like.

00:03:06 - 00:03:07 | Speaker 4:

No, please, no more.

00:03:07 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 5:

I got some in the trunk right now. You just let me know. Kevin. Let me know. One of the places that we went to, one of the parties we went to, There are a lot of friends that have parties and they invite you over and it's nice because you go, they usually invite you over like, you know, six o'clock or so, seven o'clock. You have some cocktails, they have some food out and all that stuff. And then the fireworks go off at 10.02 and by 10.35, I am in my Tahoe and I am going home. I'm like ready to, or maybe a little bit later at one of the places where Chelsea was like, we got to clean up and help, help people out here. we witnessed at uh one of the fireworks something the most is kind of like most interesting ever there were a bunch of people there probably like 25 30 people in this guy's backyard and then all of a sudden like five or six people pull up at like 15 minutes before 10 o'clock that is 9 45 for anybody that is doing time at 9 45 they show up they come walk into the backyard hey how you doing what's going on oh it's great fireworks go off they get a good spot watching the fireworks like they find a good spot on the lawn to see them and then 10 25 or 10 30 they leave you can't do that that's all they came for can you come to somebody's fireworks just to watch the fireworks or if they're having a party don't you have to like be there like that that's

00:04:25 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 4:

like coming just to eat the food exactly and that sounds like he didn't run that sounds like what the invite said though come watch the fireworks yeah but the invite was i feel like you gotta

00:04:36 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 3:

at least spend a little bit of your time i agree but if the if the text message said come watch the

00:04:41 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 5:

fireworks at us that's exactly what i did you know why you say that because you would be that guy no

00:04:46 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 4:

i'm not i'm the guy that brings the fireworks oh really absolutely shout out our guy i was gonna say my guy but pat at exotic i went to pat my cousin got married this weekend they had like a barbecue the next day so i went and got some fireworks pulled up i saw that Yeah.

00:05:00 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, of course. I saw in your story. How much did you spend? I didn't spend a lot. I didn't spend a crazy amount. Because some people spend like thousands. They spend crazy. But that's why I bang with Pat because he gave you a lot for a little. But I went and literally a neighbor next door, you can hear that. As soon as it pops off, you can see him come out his door. He put the porch light on. He stands out. He watches. And as soon as it got done, he went. Went back here, cut the light off. That was it. Cut the porch light off. He was in the house.

00:05:29 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 2:

Bianca, you had a fireworks display. She invited all of us to her house. It was your brother that was putting off fireworks?

00:05:36 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think my brother started a new tradition. He built, like, this whole fireworks show. He's been working on it for, like, three weeks. He went to Ohio to get, like, warehouse fireworks, so they were the huge boys.

00:05:47 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 2:

The fireworks are different. That's like old school. Before Michigan said that it was okay to have fireworks, you would go to Ohio.

00:05:53 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, he said Ohio had, like, less strict rules, So he had this huge display of, like, they're illegal. Like, we were sitting way too close to these big fireworks. Really? But they were so huge. He was charging my neighbors to, like, pitch in. Wait, wait. What do you mean? He was texting my neighbors, hey, I'm doing this fireworks show. If you want to pay me, like, $200 to chip in. Because he spent, like, $3,000 on these things. He went off. So he's collecting money. But they didn't ask him to do that. No, they didn't. But he's still asking for money. One neighbor gave him some money, but the other ones didn't. But next year. So what did you do? We all still watched.

00:06:27 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 2:

Did you let them watch or did you-

00:06:28 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 1:

You can't prevent them.

00:06:29 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 2:

Did you stand in front of them? Put a sheet over them or something? Close your shades.

00:06:35 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 1:

No, we had some neighbors sitting, like, we never had people outside for fireworks. There was lawn chairs all down our street. We're like, what is going on? But next year, my brother said if the neighbors want fireworks, he's charging everyone. Everybody's going to get- You're never going to get everybody on the same page to say, yes, we'll chip it. I know. He even said people that come to my house have to pay, like, a $10 cover fee to come in.

00:06:57 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 2:

Here's a question I have to ask. Is it okay if somebody's having fireworks, you know, to charge them? And if they don't pay, are they firework freeloaders? Yeah. Yes. Are they getting their firework entertainment for free?

00:07:15 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 1:

Well, listen, if you have, like, the fireworks that you get out of those tents that have, like, the little prepackaged box, I feel like that's fine. but my brother loki went all out like he had them glued to plywood boards he was serious all out the garage we all had to move our cars to the school because there was no room for them we'd move our cars to school or they'd be lit on fire he glued them to plywood boards isn't that like not smart well i don't know he was using like the the gorilla glue i have like videos

00:07:40 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 4:

by the way this is a flammable as well this is like what he this is like setup oh my god look

00:07:48 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 2:

that's insane in the garage is your mom not worried that no she was mad she was pissed

00:07:55 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 1:

like how long wait that's crazy bianca she specifically said no fireworks and then he came home one day french came home from work and this is all in the garage she's like we're in oh 60 boxes maybe no maybe it wasn't ohio i think it was like jackson michigan maybe

00:08:10 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 2:

okay so jackson michigan's a little different than ohio but other direction yeah but his friends

00:08:15 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 1:

to Ohio, but he was, like, calling up all of his friends. He said, you guys need to come to my house now, pick up all the fireworks. I'm not picking it up. I put on the show, you're cleaning up the mess. He had a whole, like, little spot. Oh, my God. Can you imagine

00:08:25 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 3:

the mess? Bro, that's the worst part.

00:08:27 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. Did you clean your mess up? Yeah.

00:08:29 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 3:

Really? That's the thing. Like, I'm like, all right, y'all. Show's over. Come through. And especially if you have to, like, did he pour water on some of the boxes? Because some of them still are, like, they have fires

00:08:37 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 2:

to them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Then the box's all soggy and wet. You gotta carry it. That's like when people smoke cigarettes and they leave their cigarette

00:08:43 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 1:

butts all over the place you know we had one of our neighbors though like while the little like box fireworks are going on like there's sparklers everywhere this guy just walking through the fireworks lighting each one walking through them you couldn't even see him anymore did you see the

00:08:56 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 2:

the video from ham tramek of the guys in a parking lot that that connected the fireworks to a shopping cart no did you send that to us uh lydia yeah oh my god they were in a like they were uh They had it in a shopping cart, and the guy was in the grocery store shopping cart with the big old Roman candles, like industrial size, shooting off, and then another guy came over and tilted the thing over, so he started shooting at people.

00:09:24 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 4:

Stupid. One of my very, very best friends, and I love you, I will not say your name to protect your identity, let her son put big fireworks on the back of his electric scooter.

00:09:37 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God.

00:09:37 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. So that he could go even faster when they lit him.

00:09:41 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 2:

Wait, are you, like, he's Lucy's age. Oh, Lucy's age. Oh, my God, I'm still young. That's so ridiculous. No, jackass.

00:09:49 - 00:09:54 | Speaker 4:

What are you doing? This kid's jackass 2026.

00:09:56 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 2:

He slew. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-666.

00:10:00 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 1:

6-5-6-5-4-8, text at 9-5-5-0-0. Look at this. This is amazing. All these text messages that are texting in saying, it's okay to charge your guests for the fireworks. No, I don't think that's right. Have a donation pot, like they do at church. Actually, you have that.

00:10:18 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 4:

That's what they do on all the lakes. They take donations all year so they can have this huge show.

00:10:26 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 1:

Okay. So do they make?

00:10:28 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 4:

They hire someone to come out, but like- Like a professional company or something? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:10:32 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 1:

But do they make you do it? Like if you don't pay, then what do you do if you don't pay? Like, is it like- I mean, they're still watching.

00:10:39 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 4:

But if you do pay, you get a big sign on your yard saying gold sponsor.

00:10:43 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 1:

Gold sponsor.

00:10:45 - 00:10:47 | Speaker 4:

So they know who was a freeloader.

00:10:48 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 1:

That's interesting. That's what you should do, Bianca. Any of the neighbors that don't pay, you guys put a sign on their lawn. That's how you get people to pay. don't have the sign on the gold sponsor ones put it on the people that don't pay no sponsor yeah exactly

00:11:03 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 3:

these ones are sitting inside for the year

00:11:05 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 1:

I'm sorry but I have to tell you that when I'm sitting there at these fireworks and I'm watching these things I looked at Chelsea at one point I said let me take a picture one time and one of them looked like a heart behind us and I said to her that's a heart she goes that is not a heart I'm like how is that not a heart it looks like the shape of a heart And she's like, no, I look at shapes of these things, and it's like a Rorschach test. I was literally about to say that. Yeah, yeah. I think that they're like, oh, that's a snowman. You know what I mean? Like, I look up, oh, that's a star and stuff. Some of them do do that, though. Yeah.

00:11:38 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 4:

Or different colors.

00:11:39 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 3:

The smiley faces.

00:11:40 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, or they say things. Yeah.

00:11:42 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 3:

Well, sometimes I just think, what if they just came out deformed like it was a mess up or something? You know what I'm saying?

00:11:47 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 2:

You're creative and use your imagination.

00:11:49 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 1:

And then if you're like your brother or Kev lighting them off, you don't see shapes because You're running your ass. Dude, let that boy get out of the way.

00:11:56 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 3:

Look at my neighbor. He was just chilling here. And all these fireworks are going on around him. He's just chilling in the middle. Oh, my God.

00:12:03 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 4:

How are you not scared? My favorite video was I saw a Waymo. Someone was taking a Waymo down the street, and it didn't know that the fireworks were going off. They drove over the fireworks.

00:12:12 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 3:

They were like, we thought we were going down. We set up traffic cones, so we blocked off our street so cars couldn't drive on our street the night before.

00:12:20 - 00:12:25 | Speaker 1:

In New York City, I think the Brooklyn Bridge. Caught on fire. Did you see that?

00:12:25 - 00:12:25 | Speaker 4:

I saw that.

00:12:25 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 1:

That was like the big fireworks in it, and the top of the bridge actually caught on fire from the fireworks hitting the thing. After they won a championship, they can withstand anything. Right? I mean, I don't get this. They say the D.C. fireworks this year were over an hour long. Who wants an over an hour long fireworks display?

00:12:45 - 00:12:46 | Speaker 3:

You get kind of bored after a while.

00:12:46 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 1:

I mean, at some point, do you sit there and go, all right guys we're packing it up grab grab everything and let's get the hell out of this place uh mojo in the morning talking fireworks uh maria what's up hello how you that was me that was me saying how you how you doing i guess how you

00:13:06 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 2:

um what's happening what's going on so my brother-in-law we just bought five acres at the beginning of the year. So, of course, we had to have fireworks out at our property. And he spent about $3,500 on fireworks. So me and my husband are cleaning up the next morning, which I did not realize how much of a mess it makes. And I took a break, and I'm at the front of the property, and my husband's burning all the cardboard boxes on the back. And then I hear fireworks going off. And I was like, did you know that was going to happen?

00:13:41 - 00:13:45 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. Wait a second. So a full day later, the fireworks are still blowing off?

00:13:45 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 2:

they're still like yeah one of the boxes they didn't all go off so he was burning the cardboard boxes and then some start going off that's scary god he didn't get hurt yeah you know what's crazy

00:13:55 - 00:14:05 | Speaker 1:

i know people that throw it in their garbage cans in their garage yeah like they'll throw the crap in there and imagine if at night that happens and your house lights on fire that's why i gotta pour

00:14:05 - 00:14:14 | Speaker 2:

water on it i know somebody that happened to by the way burn the whole side of their house really yeah off of the fireworks yeah threw them in there after maria i have a very interesting

00:14:14 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 1:

question to ask you and my question is this what the hell are you not making everybody else clean up the fireworks like kev does right after the fireworks like why are you guys the the homeowners

00:14:24 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 2:

the only ones doing that well i didn't have to pay for them so i didn't mind cleaning it up okay

00:14:31 - 00:14:45 | Speaker 1:

all right they were freebie fireworks that came your way all right well thank you for the call i'm glad that you guys didn't get hurt though cleaning the fireworks up the full day later That's craziness. Mojo in the morning. Tony, what's going on? Hi.

00:14:46 - 00:14:47 | Speaker 2:

Hey, Mojo. What's going on?

00:14:48 - 00:14:54 | Speaker 1:

Nothing much. All these, like, firework stories are kind of scaring me to ever be around fireworks. What happened to your wife?

00:14:56 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 2:

Okay, so my brother, his family.

00:15:00 - 00:15:35 | Speaker 1:

me and my family. So we both have four or five kids each. This was about 10 years ago. We go to Port Huron by the Lighthouse Beach and we always sit there and we enjoy the Fourth of July light off fireworks. So we had mortars, the two inch mortars that go up in the sky and blow up. And so we're all having fun and, you know, we're enjoying everything. So for cleanup, everybody takes all the garbage at the end and we throw them in a bonfire, you know, to burn it off. Well, accidentally, my wife, she grabs a 12-pack of mortars, didn't know that they were still new in the box, throws them in a bonfire. Oh, God. Oh, my God.

00:15:35 - 00:15:38 | Speaker 3:

How close were you guys to the bonfire when that thing went off?

00:15:39 - 00:15:46 | Speaker 1:

Maybe like four or five feet. All of us were just hung around like the whole area, and we just started scattering, running for our lives.

00:15:46 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 3:

Oh, geez. Oh, my God. Thank God you guys were okay. That's so scary. That's scary as hell. Man.

00:15:52 - 00:15:54 | Speaker 1:

Thank God nobody got hurt. Amen to that.

00:15:54 - 00:16:02 | Speaker 3:

But that's a grand finale. Like, that's how grand finale should be. Everybody running their ass off trying to get out of there.

00:16:03 - 00:16:29 | Speaker 2:
