Man, it just doesn't seem right. Sorry. I feel a little off today. It's Mojo in the Morning Show. Thank you for being here. You're home on the phone scams, the War of the Roses, and the Dirty on the 30. I feel like a little off because, and it's going to sound very weird, but I washed my pants, and I had to. I'm going to bring this up and I'm going to mention this because I think that there's a lot of people who can relate to this. Maybe not as many because you might think that this is disgusting. I hadn't washed my jeans for months. Months? Yes, months.

00:02:28 - 00:02:30 | Speaker 7:

You're not supposed to.

00:02:31 - 00:02:32 | Speaker 4:

Well, months

00:02:32 - 00:02:38 | Speaker 7:

is taking it a little far. Weeks, couple wears. Alright, let me just

00:02:38 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 4:

explain the story and then judge me. Okay. so I had them in a great feel zone like my jeans were in a great feel zone where I wasn't feeling like I was always constantly having to pull up my pants and they were feeling so soft and kind of crispy supple you know supple not moist this morning um and so for the last and I haven't been wearing them all the time because I would wear occasionally I would wear you know shorts and stuff like that, you know, when the weather had been kind of relatively nice. Well, I got into a zone with them, and then Chelsea ordered DoorDash Red Robin, and Red Robin Ranch got on my pants. And I was like, crap. First off, I was a little bit worried because I was worried that the Red Robin Ranch was going to stain my pants, and it was in a spot where you didn't want it. It was like right in the crotch zone, so you don't want that kind of a stain right there. And so, but Chelsea uses Dawn, you know, into the dishwashing soap and it came right out. Well, we quickly washed them and then hung dry them today. And then I got them off the dryer and they're kind of, you know, a little bit, maybe a couple spots might be a little damp. But the problem is they don't feel like they've felt the last few months. They're not as comfortable right now.

00:04:02 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 5:

Got to break them in all over again.

00:04:04 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 4:

And I don't, I mean, I don't know. How often do you wash your jeans, Shannon?

00:04:09 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 7:

I give them a bunch of wears before I wash them, but it's, I wouldn't say it was months. I'd probably wear mine, as long as they don't smell or I didn't put anything on, you know, like drop anything on them, like ranch. I don't know. I do the smell test. Yeah. Oh, I do. I really do do the sniff test. I don't know. Maybe like five times, six times. Okay. And then you wash them. Yeah. I'm about the same. Yeah. Yeah, I kind of, it's like, okay, when you buy a new pair of jeans, there's nothing like it. They fit so perfectly. But that first time you wash them.

00:04:40 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 5:

Guys, I'm wearing a brand new pair today. I celebrate. Look at this. And I know when I. Yeah, it's fancy. Dark wash, so I know when I take them off, my legs are going to be blue. Yeah, your hands are probably blue when you go wash them in the bathroom.

00:04:51 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 4:

And don't sit on any piece of furniture that's not darker furniture. Yeah. You're going to leave it on the furniture.

00:04:55 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 5:

This is the first wear. It's like Christmas morning over here.

00:04:58 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 7:

But I, these are, these must.

00:05:00 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 5:

have just been washed because when i put them on this morning i was doing the dance and all girls know the dance of like the squat oh yeah guys do that too guys you stretch out i just stretched

00:05:11 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 3:

these ones out a little bit today i was like oh my god did i just gain weight overnight was that red robin that that uh heavy yesterday so okay so i i just googled this and it says i said how long should uh you go before washing your jeans the head of levi says never wash your jeans yeah i

00:05:27 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 5:

I remember that interview.

00:05:29 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 3:

The head of Levi says that jeans are not meant for washing. Agreed. You should keep them, you know. And then the person from Madewell, what brand is that?

00:05:38 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 5:

Madewell is, it's like a J.Crew, like a step down from J.Crew.

00:05:43 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 3:

Okay, so the head designer at Madewell says three to four wearings. And then a microbiologist says, this is interesting, does washing your jeans pose any health risk? A microbiologist tested this out and said that they haven't found the case. In fact, a study done by the University of Alberta in Canada tested out the theory from college students who never washed their jeans for 15 straight months, and they found that the bacteria count was surprisingly low on a pair of jeans.

00:06:14 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 2:

Any time a company tells you to wash your jeans, I just think that they want you to wear through them, so you have to buy more jeans.

00:06:20 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 4:

Well, I was going to say that. That's why I was surprised the first CEO said never wash them because I'm thinking, don't you want them to wear out faster so people have to buy more jeans? But things get dirty. You can't, I mean, it's just gross to me. They can smell after a while.

00:06:34 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 2:

Spot clean and then throw them in the freezer. So that does not work, unfortunately.

00:06:38 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 5:

I had a girlfriend who used to work in retail, and she used to tell me to do this all the time. And then, in fact, I just checked this, as you said that, Megan. They did like a bunch of studies on it, and it doesn't do a dang thing. It doesn't kill microbes. Unfortunately, that was like an old wagon.

00:06:51 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 3:

What's up, bud, John?

00:06:53 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 6:

Hey, good morning, guys.

00:06:55 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 3:

Good morning.

00:06:57 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 6:

On every day at the University of Michigan, we had a Professor Wolf, organic chemistry teacher. He would wear the same jeans, never wash them. And he would wipe the chalk dust from his hands on him every day. And his jeans were white by the end of his mess.

00:07:15 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 3:

And you know for a fact they're the same jeans because you see the chalk dust on them. Yes, every day. That's so funny

00:07:21 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 4:

Well, he's organic chemistry, maybe He's trying to create something in lab for you guys to examine Yeah

00:07:27 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 3:

What's going on, Rob? Hi

00:07:29 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 7:

Hey, what's going on, guys? Good morning

00:07:33 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 3:

Good morning, buddy Is this disgusting that I never wash my jeans?

00:07:37 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, I was discussing that, Mojo I'm with you, bro Especially black jeans I have never washed a pair of black jeans I will replace them Because first of all they never feel the same second of all black jeans fade faster than anything else once they fade you can never wear them again yeah that is a good point your shoes anymore they don't go to shirts anymore it just looks absolutely terrible do not wash the black jeans replace

00:08:06 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 4:

them can i do the big mortal sin of jeans too i throw them in the dryer i know that's a huge

00:08:11 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 7:

mortal sin and i have a have a gut and i always blame my wife like hey um why did you dry my jeans i could never wear these two more so yeah never never do that rob let me give you a tip

00:08:22 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 3:

okay this was given to me by uh a person that sold me a pair of jeans and i do this you don't want your jeans to fade put a little vinegar in the first washing and always wash your jeans inside out yeah oh wow yes the first washing has to have a little bit of vinegar inside

00:08:38 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 4:

Oh, that's gross. Then you smell vinegar crotch.

00:08:41 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 7:

No.

00:08:42 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 4:

I want it to smell dawn fresh.

00:08:45 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 7:

I'd rather have them say that it smell like vinegar.

00:08:48 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I want to smell like Snuggles of Fabric Softener in my ass crotch. I don't want vinegar. That's gross. I also didn't know about the drying thing. You're not supposed to dry your jeans. Well, you can. I do it. I like it. Tighten them up a little bit after they've been worn a bunch of times, but it also wears them out faster.

00:09:05 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

Misfit Kaylee, what's happening?

00:09:07 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 1:

Good morning, guys.

00:09:08 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 3:

Good morning. What's going on?

00:09:10 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 1:

So I've seen on TikTok that you can shower in jeans that don't fit you as snug or comfortably as you would like them to and let them air dry. I sent the text in with, like, the Google link. I'm not sure if you guys got that.

00:09:23 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 4:

We did, but Kaylee, that is gross. Don't shower in your jeans. Well, you shower in them once, right?

00:09:31 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 3:

And then.

00:09:32 - 00:09:32 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:09:33 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. I just, I've seen, the problem is everybody follows everything they see on TikTok, and eventually you're going to die from it.

00:09:40 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 3:

This is much better than a Tide Pod one, though. True. Destiny, tell everybody what you do. You are crazy.

00:09:48 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 5:

I wash my jeans after every single air. Do you? Are you a germphobe? I don't want to say that I'm a germphobe. However, you're putting...

00:10:00 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 4:

them on your body if you have lotion on as he knows i wear lotion every small day you're going out in public you're sitting on stuff that's not yours you don't know who else sat on that like did they do something on that seat that you just put your butt in right when i get home i'm like i can't i'm also in nursing school so the things i see in clinicals is not very healthy in my

00:10:22 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 1:

opinion so yeah that would make me wash my jeans every day i bet if i was actually thinking about

00:10:27 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 7:

where they've been do you remember how crazy we were when we were going through the beginning stages of 2020 covid and stuff like that and you'd get you'd get changed like in the garage oh yeah yeah all the time i ruined every jeans that i had at that particular time um mojo in the morning what's going on holly good morning guys hey so i have to wash my jeans after

00:10:52 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 2:

every two or three times that I wear them because they're so stretchy nowadays that they just don't hold their fit. That's true.

00:11:00 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 6:

That is so true. Yeah, that's why I throw them back in the dryer

00:11:02 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 7:

a little bit. Yeah, the dryer is a good thing to do. Just like a 20-minute dry and just see what happens. Plus, there's nothing better than hot jeans, right? Putting them on. Hot underwear. Take care. Emily?

00:11:17 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 3:

Hi. What's up? My mind is like completely blown right now i had no idea this was a thing i just like wash my jeans every single night like whatever i wear i put in the washing machine i do you think do you think we're

00:11:35 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 7:

disgusting for uh not uh washing our jeans all the time i mean i feel like i've i've like i'm

00:11:41 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 3:

following the masses now where i'm like um maybe i've been wrong this whole time i i'm like googling stuff like crazy right now like am i the only one that does this yeah

00:11:51 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 7:

No, I get it. It does sound disgusting, but that's not the thing. Like, I guess there's a lot of people that, you know, that also, like Megan and myself, are disgusting pigs. We don't ever wash our jeans.

00:12:04 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 1:

I'm not disagreeing with you.

00:12:06 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:12:06 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 3:

Megan. Mumps is a bit excessive, I feel like. But, you know.

00:12:12 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 7:

My problem is it's hard to find a good pair of jeans that fits a guy like myself. You know? So once I find it, it's like, oh, and it bothers me when they stop making that same style. Like, they'll go, no, I'm sorry, we don't have that style anymore. I'm like, what? You can't do that stuff.

00:12:29 - 00:12:32 | Speaker 3:

Okay, and it's also gross when people don't wear underwear with their jeans. That's the only case.

00:12:33 - 00:12:40 | Speaker 1:

I don't even know how to agree with you more. Doesn't that hurt you? Like, I actually can't wrap my brain around it. Yeah.

00:12:41 - 00:12:51 | Speaker 7:

Right. If you're a person that doesn't wear underwear and you also don't wash your jeans, you are dirty. It's gross. because you got a filthy booty. All right, thank you for the calls.

00:12:51 - 00:13:14 | Speaker 8:
