I saw that you went to a carnival over the weekend. I did. One of those rides on the back of a truck carnivals.

Yeah, the old school carnivals, man. It brought back so many memories as a child. My grandmother used to take my cousin, Elena, and Brandy. Shout out to Brandy. She always listens. Shout out to her son, Amir, who's graduating too. Love you, Amir. Graduated 4.6. Crazy. Dang. Crazy. Wow. But we used to go to carnivals all the time. And when I was going on social media yesterday, I saw that there were carnivals. in the area and i went to one in madison heights high school or something like that and it was very nostalgic walking through and i took josiah this is maybe the first time i guess i've taken him to like an actual carnival i think i took him to one when he was super young but now he's of age he can actually ride the rides and have a good time yeah so i take josiah we get out the car we're starting to walk around i'm like wow look at this one this is i used to do this when i was your age or look at this one i remember so and so threw up on this one and look at that one we're doing the whole thing we're getting elephant ears we're getting lemonade and now i'm at the point where i'm like okay it's a carnival let's do what you do at carnivals and ride the rides and josiah doesn't want to ride anything oh the entire time he's like that's final destination that looks like final destination honestly i'm with him but my my thing is i wanted to force him to participate wait did you we got on one ride you forced him i yeah because i don't

think forcing is a good thing well he's got anxiety of getting on a ride let's or you're going to give him anxiety of going on a ride is there a such thing as misplaced anxiety i don't

know well what was it because when you guys go to like have you ever taken him to cedar point

we've never been to cedar point we have been to universal studios and he rides the ride he's been

all right so was it these because these carnival rides look a little rickety i think that could have been it that's why i say i'm with him all right all the rides look like they just got out

of jail or escaped from jail he's like dad what's that symbol on his neck like never ride that just like you're going but i go through this thing where i like i want him to have these experiences yeah and not just allow him to make these decisions of i'm not going to do this i don't want to do this for some arbitrary reason yeah but that's a good reason to me if he's looking

at it going it does not look safe but final destination can't be a reason sure can can i

can i tell you that i remember we used to have in our neighborhood the saint mary's fair they don't know i don't think they have it anymore but the saint mary's fair was like that it was that like that times 10 you know what i mean like they had everything there and i'll never forget going there and it was jacob and he all he wanted to do was play the games that literally make you go bankrupt you know i mean like the ones where you go there and you're going to spend probably 200 on you know games yeah and that's all he wanted to do and i'm like we're not coming here just to play games and i was exactly in your shoes and i learned my lesson and i tried to force him into doing it and then i made it like he didn't want to ride any rides anywhere else after that like because I put them on these rides.

Like, I remember putting them on the swing ride, and the kid was freaking out. And then that next day or next week or whatever, there was a story somewhere else in the country about, like, the ride actually. People got stuck or a thing. Yeah.

Those are the ones that, like, I'm cool if the kids just want to go and, to your point, get an elephant ear, play some games, and maybe get in the potato sack and go down the next slide. Right, right, right.

That's about all I'm up for, too. You saw the one in Detroit, right? Well, not that one.

I'm not going on that one. I'm talking like the smaller ones. Yeah.

No, I couldn't do it. I don't know if I could do it. Why? I couldn't do it. I don't know.

That's part of childhood, bro. Going to the carnival, getting on a pirate ship. Going up. You know, I'm not on a pirate ship. Yeah.

One that's stationary and that's like built to cement to the ground. Back and forth on the pirate ship. Not one that just went up at midnight last night. Abso-freaking-lutely night. That's the other thing, too.

That's the other thing, too, is, like, when those guys leave a place, like, when they leave wherever you were, they go to another town, and it's like, all right, load it up. And you know that there's, like, screws and bolts that are, like, dropping behind the thing.

That's not true. It's safe.

It was in Madison Heights. I'm going to go walk through there. I guarantee I'm going to find, like, 25 washers, screws. Not washers. Yeah. What's going on, Erica? Hi. How you doing?

Give him the real scare. So do you force him?

Those rides have been there forever.

But, Erica, do you force? Because that's traumatizing, too. If you take him to Cedar Point and he looks up almost to the point where his neck got a crack in order to see the top of the Millennium Forest, he's not going to want to get on that. Do you force him on it, or how do you do it?

No, you don't force him on it. You just take him to the amusement parks that have those rides that are maintained on a monthly or yearly basis. Those go up overnight. Those aren't the safest rides.

Erica, this is the thing. I think Kev's idea, though, is he's going to get him on these rides first because this is kind of like his shallow end of the swimming pool, and then he'll eventually take him to Cedar Point. But what if you go all the way to Cedar Point and he won't ride a ride? How pissed are you going to be for that long of a ride?

Well, then take him someplace different, like Michigan Adventure. Someplace that's a smaller place, but not like Cedar Point.

Is that place still around? Is Michigan Adventure still around today? I think so. I haven't been there in years. What's going on? Thomas, what do you think of this dad moment from Kev that he wants to force Josiah on the rides?

Well, you know what? Absolutely no judgment. Because if you ever go to a carnival nowadays, I don't know what it is, but they have the rides that they got out of a pickup truck just sitting in the middle of the parking lot where there's nothing but asphalt underneath you. So if something goes wrong, at least if there's a fuel, you have a chance of surviving. But, no, it's just face cut to concrete. That is true, by the way.

He's not wrong. It's like at least put him in a field somewhere where the grass hasn't been mowed in a while, so at least we got a little bit of cushion when you fly off. What's up, Bree? Hi, it's Mojo in the morning.

Hi, I agree with Kev. I took my 11-year-old grandson to Cedar Point, and we ended up in Snoopyland all day. If you don't know what Snoopyland is. Yeah, Snoopyland. For a baby ride. So you should take them somewhere. I don't care if it's the water park. Let them go down them giant slides, tour the world. But don't waste the time or the money, because I wanted to ride, and like I said, I ended up on Snoopyland.

How do you like it that grandmas are more willing to go on these rides than you?
