Mojo in the morning show. Shannon, what was the topic that I forgot?

00:02:07 - 00:02:18 | Speaker 4:

Well, so I was telling you guys, I thought this was kind of funny. The topic is what did you find out after the engagement or even what did you find out after the wedding about the person that you were going to spend the rest of your life with?

00:02:18 - 00:02:20 | Speaker 8:

Do we have something on your guy?

00:02:21 - 00:03:10 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah, of course. That's why I'm talking about this. So, Wes and I had so many great conversations over the past couple of days while we were away. um and you know we don't really ever get to spend days in a row with each other so I felt kind of spoiled because we had so much time together and so much time to just like talk and not be interrupted by kids or whatever so the day after we got engaged which was Friday we were sitting at this little bar and we just sat there and talked for hours and one of the very random things that I asked him was tell me a secret about yourself that you're embarrassed to admit and right away His answer was, I pee in the shower every single morning. I hope he's okay with me saying this on air. That confession was weighing on him. He needed to get that out. I was like, all right, I think I can deal with that. Because guess what? I pee in the shower too sometimes.

00:03:11 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 8:

Oh. Remind all of us that we're never taking a shower in your shower.

00:03:17 - 00:03:18 | Speaker 4:

You don't pee in the shower?

00:03:18 - 00:03:18 | Speaker 8:

Who pees?

00:03:18 - 00:03:18 | Speaker 4:

Ever?

00:03:19 - 00:03:24 | Speaker 8:

I only pee in the shower sometimes, but I'm very careful because my wife has amazing smell.

00:03:25 - 00:03:26 | Speaker 3:

Oh, so she could tell.

00:03:26 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 8:

She can kind of tell, yeah.

00:03:28 - 00:03:35 | Speaker 3:

You want to know how crazy I am? I pee in the shower all the time, but I also clean my shower every time I use it. Do you really? I do.

00:03:36 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 8:

That's amazing. Like you get scrubbing bubbles and stuff like that, or what do you do?

00:03:40 - 00:03:58 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I just have this spray that goes in the shower, and then I have a sponge that I leave in my shower. Just for the pee? Well, every time I'm done showering, I'm like, well, if I'm in here, I might as well just get it done. So then I wash my shower real fast, and I get out. Because then it's not a big deal. Then you don't really have to scrub it.

00:03:58 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 8:

Wow. Yeah.

00:04:00 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 3:

And then it justifies me being able to pee in the shower.

00:04:05 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 4:

It's just so much more convenient, isn't it?

00:04:08 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 8:

Okay, so you do the pee in, he said the pee in the shower thing. Did you have to answer that same question too?

00:04:13 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 4:

I can't remember.

00:04:15 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 8:

He didn't ask you? Oh my gosh.

00:04:18 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 4:

If you don't believe me that I don't remember my answer, you can call him. Because I truly don't remember what the heck is.

00:04:22 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 7:

No, we're just shocked that he didn't take the opportunity to really question your crazy.

00:04:27 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 4:

Well, he knows my crazy.

00:04:29 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 8:

That's for sure. Okay, so this is interesting because when you start dating someone, I feel like there's a level of what you try to find out about them while you're dating them. Then, as you're thinking that this might be somebody that you want to spend time with, then there's another level at engagement time.

00:04:46 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 4:

The layers, what do they say? The layers of the onion. Yeah, you peel the layers back of the onion. Peel them back.

00:04:51 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 8:

And then when you get married, but this is the other thing. After you get married, you could think that you found out everything you wanted to know about those people. And then.

00:05:00 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 1:

something big happens, where you find out something major. So what, for you, was the thing that you found out after you got engaged or after you got married about your significant other? Did they poop in the shower?

00:05:15 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 5:

That would be an issue.

00:05:16 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 1:

Would you have a problem with that? Even if they were like Megan and they cleaned it every single day.

00:05:23 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no, that's much different.

00:05:25 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 1:

I like that you said red flag though and not a deal breaker. like it's just a warning sign yeah um 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 question uh for you because this is this is like on the level what do you think of couples like people who get together especially with having kids would you ever consider like background checking yes has anybody ever done that before background check the person like shannon i know you know uh what you think is everything about Wes right yeah but have you ever like said you know what I want to find out like do you know his credit score I do okay because like why because it was he buying a house or a

00:06:07 - 00:06:16 | Speaker 5:

car or something like that or what did you know he was thinking about buying a house did you ask him to see it or did you know we just we honestly had a conversation about like finances and all of

00:06:16 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 1:

that kind of do you know his his arrest record I do do you really yeah is there anything I can't okay um do you know did you ask his how about this you ask his ex-wife any details about things

00:06:30 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 5:

just to kind of get a little feel i love his ex-wife truly i do and i mean we talk and you know i i would have no qualms about asking her i don't know that i've asked her like what i think that would be weird to be like tell me tell me everything because at 8 20 this morning she's on

00:06:47 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 1:

with us to give us all the details. She would be gladly too. Megan, you say that you would do this. You would actually hire somebody. 100%.

00:06:54 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 3:

I think that people lie all the time and it's really easy to hide information. How do you know that this person hasn't committed serious crimes? I know

00:07:05 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 1:

parents who did the background check on their kids' relationship. I'd probably do that. To find out about that. They did it because they come from a very wealthy line of people that are curious and he was saying that he didn't want to have a prenuptial agreement and they were like you know what we're doing a background check and when they did the background check they found out some crazy financial things about her family which scared them uh you know about about that but lisa what's going on hello joe you guys gotta stop having

00:07:40 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 2:

my ex-husband is the example of everything negative that's true lisa is i i have to say

00:07:47 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 1:

this about you lisa you're you're first off you're like one of my favorite listeners because you you always have something good to say a good call but your calls usually are good for all of us to listen to not good for your history that you had to deal with okay it's life experiences i've grown from it and i've moved on how about that yes what did you find what did you find out after you got

00:08:08 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 2:

married or engaged? Well, I found out my husband had had a DUI, and his father shared that with me. Not even him. He never talked about it before? Never. And then when I confronted him, he was like, well, you know, that's, it's pretty bad. And it's kind of negative. I'm like, yeah, I should have shared. How did his dad share it with you? Like, did you

00:08:29 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 5:

ask if there was anything that you should know? Or was he just freely giving up the

00:08:32 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 2:

info he just we were in the car one day and he shared it with me and i was like oh good to know like i was shocked like i didn't want him to know that i didn't know i didn't and knowing all the

00:08:47 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 1:

stories that you've told us over time about this guy that was just the tip of the ice right oh

00:08:54 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 2:

there's a reason why he's my ex-husband exactly lisa thank you for sharing what's going on

00:08:59 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 1:

Courtney?

00:09:01 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 4:

Hey, what's up?

00:09:02 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 1:

What's happening? What did you find out?

00:09:05 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 4:

Well, my mom, she works, and I don't want to say where exactly she works. I don't want to get her in trouble, but she's a crazy person, and she literally background checks everyone I have ever dated, like have found some juicy stuff.

00:09:20 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 1:

Really? What did she find?

00:09:22 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 4:

Well, my now boyfriend, who's also the father of my child, back when he was like 18 I want to say maybe he was like yeah he was 18 he um this was back when cannabis was not allowed um and he definitely had some things in his home that uh was not supposed to be there okay um he's also found from another person from like breaking and entering and home yeah when he was like 16 17 has there ever been anything that she found that made you break

00:09:56 - 00:10:01 | Speaker 5:

up with the person you were dating um yeah

00:10:00 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 7:

One with breaking in the home because he was still, like, kind of mischievous.

00:10:04 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, right.

00:10:05 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, and he was in his, like, mid-20s, and I was like, yeah.

00:10:08 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 6:

After you broke up, did you find out anything was missing in your home?

00:10:11 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 7:

No, thankfully, thank God. No, and he stayed over a few times, too. So, thankfully, nothing crazy with me, but, you know, definitely some bumps in that.

00:10:22 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 6:

I'm amazed at how many people will go on dates with somebody and they won't even Google them just to see what's going on. Or I know this sounds crazy because this is what I would go right to. Sex offenders list. Like, go to, you know, see if they've ever in the past ever had any legal issues. You can actually check that out online.

00:10:42 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 4:

The info is all out there. Why wouldn't you?

00:10:44 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 6:

Erin, what's up?

00:10:46 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 8:

Hey, so years ago, I was dating this guy, and I didn't really know much about him. um wound up pregnant by that guy um and then a friend of mine was like all the stories that he had told her and both of us together um was off and so she did a background check and mailed it to me come to find out he had a laundry list of like breaking and entering domestic abuse um Kidnapping Told me that both of his parents Had passed away Indeed they were both still alive That he had money accounts And offshore accounts And I'm like oh my god

00:11:35 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 4:

Because there's one thing when that caller said He had a DUI So it sounded like he was ashamed of a mistake he made All of the crimes you just said Were completely premeditated And had even more Victims at stake

00:11:48 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, and he had done time He had done prison time And I had no idea

00:11:53 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 6:

After watching the TV show Dear John I would No, God, that freaked me out I mean, he was like good looking He was like the perfect guy She was the successful woman Shannon Where's Keith Morrison?

00:12:14 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 4:

And then there was the Proposal in Paris

00:12:18 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 6:

He was a radio host. Started with peeing in the shower. Yeah, that's right.

00:12:22 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 5:
