I'm going to fade the music down here and I'm just going to start talking because of we got a big show announcement to tell you guys about and like that show open is kind of tough to hear um so welcome to the mojo in the morning show and i'm gonna start off and i hate to uh hate to start off like this on a on a monday morning for many this is probably their first morning back after being away for a little bit um but uh we gotta start off with some big news um as we've seen you know around uh the country and around the world we've seen a lot of crazy things that have been going on with a lot of decisions being made by companies these days. And you're hearing stories every single day about another company doing something where they're announcing that they're going to have changes made. And we're not immune to that. We're in a situation where we do have a change that has been made on the Mojo in the Morning show. Spike is no longer on the Mojo in the Morning show. And for over 23 years, Spike has been an integral part of this radio program. It was over 23 years ago that I was introduced to him by Our then program director, Tim Richards, who, when I was trying to piece together this show and trying to look for people to join the show from all over the country, he said, I think we got somebody great that is right here in town and is available.

is very capable of doing this. And he introduced me to Spike. And we spent hours upon hours, even before we started the show, just getting to know each other. And from the moment that I met him, he made me laugh. And he made all of you laugh, I know. Uh, he, um, is extremely talented and, and, and an amazing, uh, worker, uh, nobody ever is more probably, uh, put together than, than Spike, you know, you could ask him, uh, Hey, what did we do on the show back in March of 2007? and he would go, well, hold on, let me find out. And he would know.

I had notes on everything.

It was amazing.

Yeah.

And he, I know, is going to do well, and I know that he's got an amazing future ahead of him. And I've been in this business for a long time, And I've seen a lot of changes made on shows, stations, support staff, and it's never easy. Right. And it never goes without the struggles of going in and not being with that person. But I have seen where some of these changes have bettered the person that the change was made to and the people that were associated with that change. And I just hope and pray that that's the case for Spike and for all of us. We got the news on Friday and the news was made to Spike on Friday. And it was a rough weekend.

It was a really rough weekend. Change is so tough. I mean, you've worked with Spike for 23 years. I've worked with Spike for almost 14 years. And actually, he played a really, really awful trick on me when I was first starting with this show and interviewing with this show. I don't even know if you remember this, but he told me that one of the women that I was going to be interviewing with was, he goes, she, you know, she thinks you're really cute. And, you know, she, if it would be, you know, if you want to flirt with her a little bit, that might help you out a little bit. And I'm like, oh, okay, you know, whatever. And so I did. And it was so uncomfortable. but it was such a funny thing and he's like yeah yeah i gotcha um and that is just that is so spike's personality and has always been his personality and you know we're we're gonna miss him a ton but just like mojo reiterated um we're really hoping that that he's in a good place moving forward and he'll always be a part of this team always always always be a part of

this team i um i recall a you talked about your first time that spike did a prank with you yeah i haven't even started with the show yet so before we ever even started the show um we did spend so much time together um he and sarah and eric and um our then producer barb at the time and we would go out to eat or we'd go you know to museums or to the you know baseball stadiums like it was basically we're all going to experience the the Motor City you know the way that you guys do the way that the listeners do and so we were eating at a um a chain steakhouse I don't think it was Lone Star it was whatever the other one was at the time and I will remember this uh forever where it was just off of like 275 in Livonia and we're eating at the steakhouse and And I had been coming with my wife and family from Arizona to come to Detroit to do the morning show. And as we walked in, Spike goes, hey, there's something to this. You know, this is a sign. There was cactus that were in the front of the building, big cactus that they had in the front of the restaurant. And I go, oh, that's cool. You know, it was kind of cool. And I liked that he said that it was kind of like a sign. Somebody sent in a sign of what this is going to be like for us to work together. and we ate and had great time and laughed walked out to the parking lot and you know we're getting ready to get into our cars and say goodbye and he says hey you know that was a really amazing sign that there's a cactus there and here you are coming from Arizona and I thought that that was such a cool thing that I decided to, and all of a sudden he grabs the big cactus and pulls it out and says, here, take this home with you. As he grabbed the cactus, which I don't know how he was able to carry that out himself. And that was Spike. And that was the guy that then went out and we did street scams and phone scams and, you know, all kinds of different pranks and he was fearless. And, um, he, uh, you know, he grew a lot, you know, over the years, cause this was before he had kids. He grew a lot from being, you know, you know, a newly married guy to then having children and going out and doing these crazy stunts. And then, you know, he's gone through his, you know, uh, uh, personal uh um trials and you know and then come out from those and had great moments and i you know i um will tell you that in radio it's like anywhere else there's crazy this you know things that happen where you you know hear that somebody's either leaving on their own or not leaving on their own but radio is different than probably somebody that's working at any other company we

got to come in and go on and be so public uh the next day and it would be completely disrespectful despite to not talk about him and talk you know about the the decision here but it's also going to be very you know uh tough because we got to be respectful obviously to him and then also you know to uh to our company yeah absolutely absolutely um anybody else uh have anything that they want to uh want to add or say and people think it's an april fool's joke and i'm going to tell you guys i got to tell you we've done a lot of april fool's jokes over the years and i would never joke about somebody losing their job i you know i know that we've done crazy things where we switch formats and done things like that um it's not an april fool's joke it's it's on it's unfortunate timing you know that that it happens right around april fool's but the some of the of the callers and texters are all thinking, okay, when are you guys going to admit this, that it's a surprise, but it's not.

You know, and I am angry with him because he owes me dinner still, and I feel like this was his way of getting out of that dinner. This sounds like a spike move. If I had to pick a spike move, I owe you dinner, so this is what I'm going to do.

You know you could still call him and he still owes you dinner, right? Yeah, I know. Okay, all right, I'm just making sure.

Although it would be to me, I don't know if I would ask it or say, hey, you owe me dinner is the first thing that you're going to say.

No, he was, when I started here in 2017, he was one of the first and still was through the whole time to constantly give me tips and tricks and be like a mentor. I think of you all as a mentor in a way, like different aspects of the business. and i had thought about getting out of morning radio and i wasn't gonna i was gonna just find another path in radio and mojo has been a big part of of me staying in this but spike was also a huge part he's just one of those comedic hilarious guys that i wanted to to be like and be as funny as and as quick as and as on as all the time and so i would just ask him a million i was probably super annoying about it i would ask him eight million questions and he was always the guy if he was in town he would reach out and without you know he's just got 8 million things going on but he would reach out and he would go out to dinner and he would text me he's the only one that text me on before my birthday and would send me a birthday gift and he's just an overall a great guy and a dick at the same time and that's why he was so great he really was he's just a really good guy he will be missed

is always kind of difficult and for me when i joined the show it was very difficult and he was always the first one to you know extend that wing and make sure i felt involved and included and just always went out of his way to make sure everybody felt like they belonged and that was

one of his greatest skills and yeah yeah um it's tough uh like i said because we are in such a public setting to uh you know to deal with this i mean i'm sure that you uh have probably dealt in whatever you do with uh you know having changes at work um but uh but it's tough because you know we talk on the radio for a living and um we've had so many changes to this show over 23 years because it's been 23 years honestly normal radio shows Thank you.

don't go 23 years it's it's unusual that we're able to do this and um you know none has been bigger than than this change with spike um but there have been some major ones you know uh when we lost our our first uh female co-host uh sarah and we had stumbling blocks and hit stumbling blocks and then you know we we just stayed diligent and worked hard and we're going to do that for you right now too we're going to continue to do that we um we're going to promise that we're going to do that and i think that uh to be perfectly honest with you i think that that's the you know the thing that uh that you have to do so uh jake comment from uh from you it's mojo in the

morning yeah just uh a little bit of a tragedy here that he's gone um uh the phone stands for really what got me to listen to your guy i'm gonna be 100% honest that's what got me to listen to your guys' show in the morning.

And we're going to announce at 7.50 an announcement on the phone scams and what will become of the phone scams.

Well, I'm going to let you guys know he's seriously going to be missed on this radio show, not only by you guys, but by the people who are listening. And I just want you guys to know that you guys and he will also be in my thoughts.

Former President Donald Trump's indictment by a New York grand jury will begin to unfold today. The Manhattan DA's office, you know, this has been investigating Trump in connection with his alleged role in that hush money payment scheme and cover up involving adult film star Stormy Daniels that goes way back to the 2016 presidential election. The former president had been asked to surrender on Friday in New York City but his defense said they needed a little bit more time so he is expected in court tomorrow where he's scheduled to be arraigned and fingerprinted and yes I'm hearing he will have to take a mug shot as well. I'm also hearing because Secret Service will be with him he will not be handcuffed during that process which is standard of most people in that situation. The New York Post is reporting, by the way, that within 24 hours of him being slapped with those charges, the former president raised $4 million for his 2024 presidential campaign. It is official after announcing their separation a few weeks ago, Reese Witherspoon filed for divorce from her husband, Jim Toth, after more than a decade of marriage. She filed her petition in Nashville, citing irreconcilable differences. Every time I say that phrase, I can't believe I say it right. Her filing notes that she and Jim signed a prenup ahead of their 2011 wedding. So it should be, unfortunately, nice and neat for them moving forward. Britney Spears enjoying a little spring break time in Mexico. And in a video that was going around on social media, she's seen dancing with her longtime friend and manager, Cade Hudson, to the song Blurred Lines. Interesting to me. I saw the video, and now all of a sudden that video is nowhere. It has been deleted. And rumors have been flying that Brittany and her husband, Sam, are on the rocks. Adding fuel to that rumor is the fact that he was not on the trip with her. However, he did take to his Instagram story over the weekend to shoot down any rumors of trouble in paradise. Did a bunch of selfies. He's wearing his silver wedding ring in the selfies. And one of them, he's mimicking Dr. Evil from the Austin Power movies and just put a bunch of crying, laughing emojis next to that. So I'm thinking they're still good. I don't know. where he's trying to buy time.

Interesting. And lastly, the owners of a Dairy Queen in Phoenix are looking for the three suspects caught on camera stealing the 15-foot red spoon in front of that DQ location. Really? How did they get that thing out of it?

There's something you don't hear every day. Phoenix police are searching for a giant red spoon. The 15-foot-tall statue was snatched from this Dairy Queen near 51st Avenue and Thomas. The thieves took off with it early Saturday morning. There are no suspects identified at this time, but if you happen to have an inside scoop, You're asked to call Phoenix police.

So bad.

How do you get away with that? I always wondered that with the big boy statues, too. Like, how do you steal a big boy statue?

Like, where do you put it and not have somebody notice it and call the police?

And I think that that actually was one of the most stolen things that people would take from restaurants. It was infamous. And people would get caught because it was so big. Neighbors or friends would turn them in.

I heard that they just weren't that heavy for a long time. So if they weren't bolted down, it wasn't really that much of a struggle. But what are you going to do? Put it up for sale on eBay? That's what I've heard.

mojo on the morning show if uh you're just tuning in and i know many of you are you might have missed when we opened up the show and talked about a change that has been made um and i'll tell you that it is uh very tough and uh the the texts that have been coming in and comments that have been made are um gonna make uh uh spike i know happy um but uh they he uh and he for 23 years has been on this radio show and has made you laugh and in many cases also made you cry and um we announced earlier this morning that he's no longer uh with the show um in about an hour from now I'm going to announce about the phone scams and talk about that because the change you know definitely affects what you would hear at this time of the morning but I want to wait till 7 50 just because that was the big time that we would always debut a new uh phone scam and um you know a lot of people are asking and posing the question is this an April Fool's joke it's not an April Fool's joke um and uh it is difficult uh you know the the timing on that um you know Friday was a was a crazy day after the show and it was also a very interesting day and I will say this that it was something like at the end of the show that was so wild to have your kids come in studio make us laugh so hard and then and then things you know happened after the show was over with um i was here till probably about 2 30 or so in the afternoon on on friday which is like a rarity on a friday uh because usually on fridays like we're all just like bolting as soon as things happen but there's a lot of a lot of stuff to uh to do and uh i left the radio station um and walked outside to look in the parking lot to see my car with silly string on it because if you were listening on friday's show and if you missed this you can go listen to the podcast from friday's show uh shannon's kids came in studio and before they came into the studio shannon's fiance and her uh and her son and daughter silly stringed your car but also got

my car in the process yes i know i'm sorry i tried to take as much off your car as i could but i'm five feet tall and you have a Tahoe.

How much was on there if you had to take some off?

Because there were still some on there. Yours wasn't as bad as mine was. Mine was, they got mine really good and it was raining. So it was all over the place. And they also put, and rightfully so, please be mindful or please slow down student driver magnets all over my car as well. They put those on there? That's funny. Yeah. But they love April Fool's Day. So I knew that they were plotting something when I told them that they could come into the studio that morning. I'm glad it gave you a laugh when you needed it. And they kept going all weekend, you know. That wasn't it. I kind of played a little prank on them, although it was a great surprise. But they thought we were staying home and doing nothing all week. And I had zero plans. And I ended up surprising them. And we took a little road trip to Chicago because we wanted to go to the aquarium. And they have like a slime museum there, which every kid loves slime, unfortunately. us parents um but they plotted they conspired against me and in the middle of the night Friday into Saturday we all obviously stayed in a hotel room together they woke up and toilet papered the entire hotel room and I mean used every roll of toilet paper in the room and just I woke up under this spider web of toilet paper and the cutest part was and they don't know this I I actually did wake up because they were so darn loud when they were doing this. I was going to say, what kind

of a sleeper? By the way, this is bad if you pass out. I'm a very light sleeper. They're in a hotel room. They can leave and run out in the hallway or something.

No, but they just like listening to Lucy boss around Smith and Smith be like, Lucy, this is the best idea. Let's wrap her entire feet in the toilet paper. And they were like jumping off the beds, you know, to get on top of things. And it was really, really cute but oh yeah they they love april fool's can i can i ask you what did you guys do with all the toilet paper after you cleaned it all up i did feel kind of bad because it was slightly wasteful but i i cleaned it i did not want the hotel you know staff to have to do that so i cleaned it up and put it in the garbage but uh so then i'm like how are we wiping our booties for the rest of the

day guys well that's the thing i was thinking to myself if uh you you stay at a hotel

and the cleaning crew comes to clean the room during the day, do they think that you have, like, massive diarrhea or something because you use so much toilet paper? Probably.

We're probably judging.

You never think about something like that until you have that moment, do you? It's like, this lady right now went through how many rolls of toilet paper? Which is amazing because...

And disgusting.

She had it in the garbage. It's single ply. I mean, you're supposed to go through a lot of it.

Isn't it amazing the hotel toilet paper is so bad? It's like so, it's so bad. Business toilet paper is bad, too. It's either sandpaper like it is here at our studios or it's single ply. And I got to be honest with you. I am not a single ply type of guy. I don't know if you look at me.

If anybody is a single ply type of person, those are the people we should be cutting out of our lives.

They don't deserve to be here. So the radio station I don't know if the guy's bathroom has this But the girl's bathroom has this thing on our toilet paper dispenser And it only gives you like Is it two squares at a time? No, one, one square I think it's one square at a time It's like a lock So you pull it and you get a square And you pull it and you get another square And you pull it and you get a third square If you're lucky

I'm assuming that if that's bad for you That you are the type of person that would only need a one square Are you a one square or no? How many squares do you need to pull?

I like a good, thick bottle of toilet paper. The two C's? The what?

Thick with two C's. Yeah.

I don't want my toilet paper making my finger poke through. You know what I mean? Oh, no, yeah.

I'm a baller, and then I'm a dude wipe, or whatever those baby wipes are. It's a whole cleanup process. Oh, yeah.

I baby wipe. I do it. This is my bathroom routine. I do it with the toilet paper first Just to kind of get the heavy stuff The heavy stuff The heavy lifting And then it's the wet wipe And then I dry off Afterwards How do you dry off? Well the wet wipe afterwards Because the wet wipe is a little bit wet So I get a And then you do a pat pat pat I get a pat pat pat with the single ply ply

I don't know why I assumed you had one of those fancy Japanese toilets That had a bidet and then the blow dryer.

No, no, let me tell you, I do have that in our master bedroom. We do have that. And we got it when I had my surgery because it was difficult to wipe after the surgery. Connor, what's going on?

Hi, Morton. Hi. My siblings and I agree that anything goes for April Fool's Day. and I woke up Saturday morning and didn't think anything was wrong. I picked up my water bottle, which I knew was empty the night before. It was full. My siblings had filled my water bottle with horseradish.

Oh, geez. Oh, my God. That's awful.

You probably needed all that toilet paper then.

Yeah, exactly.

No, I did not drink that. It was so bad smelling. I dumped it out and I forced them to clean it.

Oh, man. The only thing I did was I did to Luke, I took our Xfinity remote and I put a piece of black tape over the little sensor thing. So every time he was trying to change the channel, he thought that the batteries were dead. He must have went through about 12 batteries trying to figure that thing out. So that was my only thing that I did. And then I realized I'm going to be ruining these batteries. So I had to figure out which batteries were the ones that were in there and which ones weren't the ones that were in there. I hate April Fool's Day, to be honest with you. I do so much. I do too. It's the worst.

And I think that you would be the type of person, Mike, that remember when in the malls they used to have the person that would do surveys and say, hi, can I stop you for, you know, to do a survey? They had a clipboard and they would do that. Do you remember that at all? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You were the guy that stopped for them, weren't you?

Well, I just wanted to know what the first question was. And then if the question was interesting, then I might stay for the second question. And then they usually would say, well, I can get you registered to win this quad. and I would go, okay, yeah, I'm in. Sign me up, 100%. Because I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff. I am. I always think I'm going to win. I always think that I always want whatever you're selling, especially if you're selling something or a child is selling something for a sports team. That 100% you could get me to buy literally anything. You said, I want you to buy this tiny little statue of a gnome. It's made out of crystal, but it's for my sports team. I would go, okay, I don't need a gnome, but sure, I'll buy it.

It just tugs on those heartstrings. Every single time.

Every single time.

But why a sports team? Explain that to me. Were you a kid that was on a sports team?

Yeah, I used to have to, when I played t-ball as a kid, I used to have to sell those little candy bars, those dollar candy bars. Oh, wait a second. Was it the world's famous chocolate, or what was it called? I think so, yeah.

It was in a box. Which, by the way, it was not gray chocolate.

No, I disagree. I think they're so good. You like those chocolates? What are you talking about?

It was the box that you would break in half and carry as, like, it had a handle on it, and they were white packaging, and on the back, did yours on the back have, like, a coupon from McDonald's on it?

Yes, yeah, and every rapper had something on it, didn't they? Yeah, they had, like, some kind of a deal.

I feel like I missed out on this in my childhood. Did you not play sports? Didn't I play sports? Okay. No, I didn't play sports. But I just remember the boxes of candy that, like, people would sell that were, like, the Hershey's or the Reese's or, like, the M&M's. No, no, no, no.

This was, like, the generic chocolate. I don't even know if it was a brand.

Yeah, yeah, it was pretty good. It was called World's Famous Chocolate, but you never knew where the World's Famous Chocolate came from.

Yeah. So somebody came to sell you some stuff this weekend. What were they selling?

Yeah, so we're trying to be a little tight with money right now. And so this little girl came to our house and was selling tropical smoothie coupons. And I forget what sports she even said she played. But she said it's because she did the spiel really fast. So it was for some Jenison team or whatever. And I'm like, oh, I have cash in my pocket And I'm such a sucker for this But I know if my wife sees me pull out this money She's going to go, Mike She's going to give me that look And so I snuck, and I bought a bunch of coupons And she doesn't know that yet Well, she will now What did it end up costing you? 50 bucks Good for you Smart decision You should have saw the look on her face when I bought them

And you remember when people would turn you down Do you remember actually having people be like, now Or give you, like, slam the screen door in your face.

Oh, the second you looked like you were about to sell something, they wouldn't even open the door. They would go, no, I don't want it. And they would talk through the glass. I don't want anything. Thank you.

By the way, coupon books are the worst investment ever and I hate to do this because I know that there are some sports teams that are probably selling those right now. Anytime you get them, you never have them with you when you go to a place. And the coupon is never something that you necessarily want. It's never something, it's like, okay, get 20% off of and it's like the prune juice one. You know, it's like it's like one that you've never order ever in your life at the smoothie store and or the only places that were left over are places that ended up closing. That was the other one, too. Businesses closed because they put their answers into a coupon book. And that was the that was the thing. So so you now have this. When when do you think you will go use it?

Probably never. Honestly, honestly, I might use it once and think it's a great idea, but you can only use one at a time. so it's like a dollar off or something. But I couldn't say no. She was so nice. Her parents were in the driveway in the car, and I was like, I know she's going to have to go back and tell mom and dad, like, yeah. I just sold 50 bucks worth of coupons, that sucker. And I was like, oh, sure, why not?

We had a maitre day. Look at the texters coming in here this morning differing with my opinion of that chocolate. They're saying that Megan's right. The chocolate is great. That world's finest chocolate is great.

The caramel ones, man. The caramel ones were good. If there was a kid that walked by right now, I would literally go to an ATM and get cash for him. Like, I love those girls. There you go.

Did any of you guys sell wrapping paper?

Oh, yeah.

I used to sell wrapping paper. It was like my favorite thing ever. I would go door to door. I mean, I was the best wrapping paper salesperson on Grossio, I think.

The wrapping paper was a big one, and my kids sold those. And then the Little Caesars pizza boxes were also a big one, too, where the kids wanted to sell Little Caesars pizza boxes.

Yeah, the pizza. Yeah, there were kits. I think I have one of those in my freezer right now.

I think we do, too, but it's from, like, 30 years.

No, it's probably from, like, two or three.

But actually, those were the thing when Chelsea and I would go out on a date night and we would get a babysitter, those were the things that we would end up making them, was those Little Caesars pizza kits. And I will remember this. I remember the boys going door to door. We'd just tell them, go door to door. And we would always tell them which houses to go to because there were homes of people that we would buy from in our neighborhood when their kids were selling stuff. And these people, these rat bastards that lived in the woodlands, they wouldn't open the door. Got to return the paper. Oh, not home. I said to Joey one time, I said, say I can see you in there. Chelsea says I'm a sucker for anybody's lemonade stands because I know that majority of those kids put so much sugar in them. it's you know it's so good it uh it just tastes delicious all right mojo on the morning show so this weekend i went out with my buddy jeff and we went to a bar to go watch the final four and something that he did was a little concerning to me and i wanted to throw this out there and see if you are one of these people so we're bellied up to the bar we ordered wings and burgers and stuff and we're sitting there having drinks and we were watching you know the games at one point i looked down because i thought that my uh coat had fallen off of the back of my bar stool and i look down and i look and i go there's just two shoes just sitting there like so many shoes and then i look over at jeff

And Jeff's got his shoes off.

No. At a bar.

He took his shoes off, bellied up to the bar, sitting there. So I lean over and I go, Jeff, your shoes came off. And he goes, no, I took them off. And I go, you took off your shoes in a dirty bar? And he goes, yeah, I'm sitting on the stool. I'm not stepping on the floor. And I go, but what happens if there's a fire and we got to get out of here? Like, what happens if what happens in that case? You know, we got to run out of this thing. He goes, and I put my shoes on. And I go, you can't take your shoes off. How disgusting is that, that we're sitting here and there's other people all around us. Nobody wants to look at your feet. Waiters and waitresses and bartenders walking around. And this guy's got his shoes off. And he said to me, he goes, this isn't the only place I take my shoes off. He goes, I once got yelled at at a funeral for taking my shoes off at a funeral.

Like, why did he feel the need to?

He likes to be shoeless. And I don't know if anybody's ever been like this, where they like to take their shoes off. But I said, do you do this on airplanes? Yep. I'm like, the airplane shoe-off person, oh, my God, especially, and he had socks on, thank God, so he was wearing, you know, shoes with socks. The people without socks taking their shoes off.

That is nasty.

It's just gross. It's just absolutely gross.

would you say well they've had a bunch well johnny cash i think i think that they showed three of them and i did see johnny cash in one of them i thought that one of them was mick jagger from the Rolling Stones. Another one might have been the O.J. one.

I mean, those were pretty big. I don't know. I mean, never has a president ever had to have a mugshot. The other interesting thing that they're talking about is they're saying, you know, because he says he's going to come back out and speak after, you know, this happens. They're saying that the judge may gag order him and tell him that he is gag ordered from talking about this or talking about anything. and it would be like months that he would be gag ordered and they're saying that that would be a tough thing for the judge to do but he could do it because he is still a presidential candidate right now because he declared for this you know race that's in 2024 so that would be like unbelievable if that was the case that a presidential candidate was not allowed to go out and campaign or say anything.

Yeah I also heard I was listening to the news on the way in this morning and they said that he will be fingerprinted but will most likely not be handcuffed because the Secret Service will be with him. And so that is not allowed to happen, apparently. Chris Hemsworth taking a huge step back from Hollywood after learning that he is genetically predisposed to Alzheimer's disease. Now, the Thor star wants his fans to know he isn't planning on retiring anytime soon. He's simply going to be slowing things down. He currently has four different projects in the works, including an upcoming Avengers sequel. I know he's got an untitled biopic about wrestling icon Hulk Hogan. But after those projects, sources tell me he doesn't really plan to take on too many roles because of learning about his high risk for Alzheimer's. He just wants to spend some time with his family. By the way, he discovered he is at high risk for the disease while filming his National Geographic and Disney Plus docuseries Limitless. How old is he? Do you know? Oh, I don't know. Hang on. Okay. UConn and San Diego State advance to the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship game with victories over Miami and Florida Atlantic respectively. They will face off tonight. Is that right? Aztecs are a 7.5-point underdog to UConn, by the way. And over on the women's side of things, Alexis Morris scoring 21 points and Jasmine Carson chipped in 22 off the bench to lead LSU past Iowa, clinching the first women's basketball title in Tigers history yesterday in Dallas. By the way, and this is worth a big mention, the women's Final Four captivated millions across the country on Friday night. The viewership numbers back that statement up. ESPN says this year's Women's Final Four was its most viewed edition of the NCAA Division I Women's College Basketball Semifinal across all ESPN platforms in history, averaging 4.5 million viewers per game. That's up 66% from last season. And I know in particular, all eyes were on Kaitlin Clark and Iowa's matchup against Aaliyah Boston and South Carolina. That drew the most viewers. Five and a half million people were watching. What did she score?

She scored like 40, was it? Yeah, yeah.

She's a beast.

And then did you see yesterday in the championship game, Angel Reese from LSU kind of gave it back to her with the whole John Cena thing, you know, with the hand and waving the hand in front of the face, because that's what Caitlin did in the prior game. A lot of people were sounding off on that one, but. It was rigged, right? It was rigged?

Like the refs gave the game to LSU, correct?

I don't know. I didn't watch it, but why? Is that something that's trending right now?

There were a lot of technical fouls, specifically against Caitlin, where they said she was talking and she wasn't actually talking. I don't know anything about basketball. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about basketball. But I heard that that game was essentially handed to LSU.

Are the Hawkeye fans all saying that? And that's why they're saying that?

It was a lot of people online. I don't know if they were all Hawkeye fans, but it seems like the refs handed the game to them. I don't know. Oh, sorry. I really thought somebody would know about basketball.

That was a game that I wanted to watch, and it's funny, I never watched NCAA women's basketball, but the hype of everybody talking about her, I just wanted to see what she was all about.

Look, I'm in my 20s and I've dated people. And for some reason, that is very crazy and interesting to people. I don't think it's that interesting. I've been in show business for half my life almost, for like 14, 15 years on a national TV show. And in 12 years, I've dated like 10 people. I don't really think that's that crazy.

And he said, by the way, he's dated famous people because he works with famous people.

These people that I've dated, like, I met them at work. Like, I wasn't in anyone's DMs. No one was in mine. I worked at one of the five Hollywood epicenters where you meet people. That's just who I was working with and who I was around. That's how it happens.

Whenever I've worn And those type of jackets, or if you wear pants that are like, I don't know, like have a little bit of plasticky to them or their new jeans, they make more noise. People, you can't sneak up on people. Let's just put it that way.

No, no, no, no, no. But I had a fun time. I actually, I ran into so many people. That's the best part about opening day is that you just run into everybody from your childhood to old coworkers, whatever it was. That's the best part. And you're all a little bit toasty. So everybody's a little bit nicer than we normally would be. but I did run into somebody that I know and um she had a huge announcement which was very exciting she was telling me that she uh just found out she's pregnant and it was oh we like we danced in the street it was gonna be fun I I couldn't believe it to be honest I kind of pictured her like me I didn't think she was ever gonna have kids and she was so happy I was like I'm so happy for you and then I looked down at her hand and I noticed she had a beer in her hand I said Well, these two things don't correlate. I didn't say anything because I don't feel like I could ever be in the place to say something in that situation.

She was drinking and she was pregnant?

Well, I gave her the look and then she goes, oh, no. And I went, oh, I mean, I'm not, you, do you, question mark, I don't know what to do. And she goes, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, this is not a real beer. This is a non-alcoholic beer. She had packed her entire cooler And she showed me non-alcoholic beer That she was like rolling around with In this like backpack cooler And she goes I knew I was going to run into So many people out here who know me And if they saw me not drinking They would assume So I had to bring my own fake beer out To hide this pregnancy And I thought it was hysterical I thought it was genius But I never really thought about how often People have to hide their pregnancies And how much of pain in the booty that would be

Yeah, that's well, and you know what, when you're somebody that is with a bunch of people that are drinking, that's a tough one, because that's how we found out.

I always think to myself, what does that say about me that the moment I don't order a drink, people are like, she's pregnant. Are you okay with that? Yeah, something's going on. But both times, I mean, with Lucy, I found out. And then literally the next day, we left for a morning show trip to boot camp in Chicago. And I thought, how in the heck am I going to do this? Because that, I mean, we drink when we're there. We like, you know, we like to go out and have a good time and have a few drinks with dinner after dinner or whatever. And so I remember I had actually Spike was sitting right next to me and I said to him, I'm about to order something. If you dare say anything, I swear to God, I will kill you. And I said to the waitress, can you please bring me just like a seltzer water with a lime, but put it in a like a cocktail glass.

which is funny because i just saw that part of it not knowing and i thought that's just shannon she's drinking she's got a new drink in her life she's not doing wine this time normally right i was more shocked not that she was pregnant but was that she wasn't drinking a bottle of wine

correct but then what happens when you do tell people i'm pregnant and they think a couple weeks ago we were

out drinking well and that happens i mean that that i yeah i had a rough night like two weeks

even i was gonna say i i mean i knew i think i did this too like you could even just take a regular not you know alcoholic beer like a regular drink and just you just hold it You know, and pretend to sip it. And that's what a lot of people do, too. Like, you know, yeah, go to the bathroom and drink out a little bit.

Or if you're the spouse, you have to take those drinks. Like, if shots are given, you have to take those extra drinks. And then you become way more drunk than everybody else because you're trying to balance out everything.

I'm always amazed at how people will try to cover up where it's starting to look like you're pregnant. And they'll try to cover that up. and that is always a big one too is like how do you decide that you're going to do that especially if you're somebody that normally doesn't wear baggier clothes or say bring out the moo-moos yeah and nowadays nowadays i'd never actually assume anybody is pregnant because i've done that too many times in my life and got myself into uh to trouble by you know saying you know oh you know and it was a bad you know bad thing as a dumb guy just to say that but

what's up uh is it kylie yeah hey everyone what's going on um so where i work all my bosses i have a board of directors and this past christmas i was about eight to ten weeks pregnant we had our board christmas party and so before i got there i told the restaurant hey just put some sprite and grenadine and a drink make it match you know a cocktail and we're sitting there and one of my board of director goes man like you have to drive home you're really uh swinging back these drinks

tonight because you were thirsty you actually like the taste of it i did i totally forgot that

i was pretending and my husband just gave me a look and i was like oh oh yeah i'll order a drink uh i'll order a water the next time we're out you know what that's the uh that's the thing that you

pay the price you pay because then all of a sudden if you actually are just trying to have

you know it was my first pregnancy so i was like super cautious okay just don't shake as much go all out i just kind of strolling instead of you know doing the twerk all right it is mojo in the

morning so if you weren't with us at the beginning of the show this is going to be shocking news for you um and if you were with us we're going to give you an update um spike is uh is uh not on the show anymore uh a decision has been made and um and spike uh will not be with us on the mojo in the morning show we um talked earlier this morning in great length about it and you know you can go check that podcast out or I'd like to just, you know, reiterate that he's been a partner of mine for the last, you know, 23 years and actually he's gone. you know goes from radio show partner to to really you know part of the family and a great encourager of you know people like my son to get into radio and to be part of radio and we've known him for many years making you guys laugh at this time with our phone scams and out of respect to uh, to spike and, uh, out of honestly knowing how good he was at doing the phone scams, we are not going to do the phone scams. Um, you know, I, I don't think it's appropriate absolutely to do it now. I do, uh, think that, you know, it's something that would just seem so awkward to have all of a sudden somebody else just doing a phone scam or whatever, you know? And it was such a huge part of our show. I mean, it was the biggest, most probably popular thing, actually the most popular thing that we've done on this radio show next to, you know, War of the Roses and The Dirty and stuff. And it's going to be sorely missed, but Spike is going to be missed in such a great way. And this will probably be, you know, one of those many ways that people will miss him. And, you know, a lot of people are sending us text messages and you know calls and going on social media and commenting and I totally get everything that you're saying um anytime that there is a change you know I I totally understand when people will say you know I'll never listen again or you know what a you know horrible decision that was made and you know this is this is not something that uh that I can you know do anymore and I would say that you obviously you know do that but i will also say this that all of us are going to try to to keep things together and try to to pick up pieces and we're going to try to continue to do what we do on the show and have done on the show so yeah this stuff sucks i you know i i i

hate this stuff i hate not having the guy that has sat next to me for god almost 14 years now um not sitting next to me anymore it's it's it's so hard and I love him to pieces he was never just a co-worker to any of us um I mean he he is and always will be an incredible incredible friend and like you said it's it it's hard it's heartbreaking and the only thing that we can do is keep going and keep trying to give you the show that we that you expect from us every morning which sometimes is good sometimes it's not the best but that's what that's what we're doing so i um was

talking to to somebody over the weekend and expressing you know my sadness uh about you know what's what's happening here and um and expressing honestly my fears and my anxiety and talking about this and he he said to me you know something that was interesting and i don't know necessarily if it comforted me but it did for a second give me a little bit where he just said that um you know not everything you know is forever you know unfortunately I mean I wish that we all you know uh could keep and I would don't not saying this to you guys but I wish that and I think back to what the show was like back when we first started I wish those people were still part of the show and we can just keep on adding having and adding and you know what I mean because when we celebrated our 20th anniversary a couple years ago that was what it was like yeah and every person that we've added to the show has meant something to the show and that includes even the interns that have been part of this program you know they've they've divulged things in their lives that that were very tough for them to divulge but he said to me he's like you know time you know kind of heals that but also there's a day when honestly it's like he said to me he goes there's a day when they're going to come to you mojo and they're going to say to you you know hey it's time to move on and honestly you know when i was thinking about that and thinking about the change that is that has just happened it at least made me know first off that when people have left the show they've always gone on to great things and I know he's a very talented talented person and I know he will he will go on to great things and I know that it's going to suck for you the listener because you're not going to get that entertainment that you normally would get um and i get it and you choose what you you know we will decide to choose and we just hope that if you do choose not to be here that maybe you come back and and try us out again and we'll see how things go and you know in time so um you know it's

If she already wouldn't be a catch for somebody like, you know, I don't know, like my son. If she wouldn't be a catch in how beautiful she is, she makes dumplings for a Sunday night meal for herself.

I did not make those dumplings. Those were straight out of the freezer, and they were burnt to a crisp. And Megan, you were laughing when all the steam was coming up. I had to turn off my camera. Can I be honest?

Before you turned off your camera, I saw the steam. I didn't know if it was steam or smoke, and I was like, just look for flickering light. Look and see if there's a fire. Just see if there's a fire.

Well, y'all know what happened to me if I disappear.

You had me fooled then. I thought that you were making homemade dumplings. I was actually like, oh, my God, good Polish girl over there making homemade dumplings that grandma might have taught you or something.

No, Trader Joe's, you're my ride or die. But no, I had a very chill weekend compared to what I had during my birthday weekend. I had a huge group, 12 people go out and go to a huge country concert.

That was a week ago, right?

Yeah, yeah. So I needed some time to unwind. But I wanted to talk about something that happened last weekend that I feel like was kind of awkward, but I needed to do it. I invited my really good friends, and then a couple of them had boyfriends that I had gotten to know. And I had to let one of my friends go from the group chat, remove him. I found out that he had been cheating on her and I had to uninvite him to my birthday party.

Wait a second. Hold on a second. So he was dating, this guy was, he was dating your friend and then you, how'd you find out that he was cheating?

Well, she told me and I just felt like, you know what? I have to, I'm not going to, well, I am going to take a side. I will take my friend's side first and foremost, but it's just like an awkward situation because like when you have couple friends and then you invite them together and then weird things happen or if there's a disagreement like it's it felt kind of awkward for me to to take him out and like even Lydia saw in the group chat she's like who is this number that you took out of your birthday party to everybody else yeah you can see it yeah everyone's

like oh I don't know what that's about so when did you do it when did you actually remove him from the group chat oh right when we found out so in what day was that it was like a couple days before the concert oh okay so this is over a week ago okay so he's no longer in the group chat and did he well did he send a warning that he was getting kicked out no i i feel like did he send

you a personal text to you asking why he was taken out no he didn't i think that it was like

message delivered oh by taking him out of the garage yeah i always hate that i always hate the well first off i'm gonna i'm gonna say this are people still in your birthday group chat a week

later texting in that so yes not now all right but a couple days ago yes i hate it there's so

okay here's the thing you and i think that the problem is this if you have a group text okay a group chat text and if it's for a specific thing you cannot text back two days after the event like a day after the event it's okay to say how great everything was you know two days after the event you're done but the problem is this you need to have an official goodbye from somebody all right guys well this was fun see you in the next time boom and then you end up group chats are specifically

themed for something nine times out of ten there's always that you just put everybody in a group chat because you're all in doing something they're usually like birthday parties or camping trips like you don't need to put pictures of your baby in that in those in those things we don't need to see that it's themed around something keep it around that and then leave it alone the themed

group chat is about the theme of like her birth or her big birthday concert party that she had if you post in there what you ate for dinner on wednesday night uh five days after the event guess what you have committed a group chat foul i just got a message in my group chat saying kp

talking about this group chat on the air right now everybody go listen who was it that sent that

It wasn't the guy I removed, I'll tell you that.

I'm calling you out. You cannot do that. You can't. If you want to let everybody know, you have to individually text each one of those people and tell them KP is talking about our group chat right now. What was your group chat title? Did you have a title for it? Co-Pretzel.

Everyone was making fun of his name because his name is Co-Wetzel. And everyone, my non-country friends were like, are they going to have pretzels at Co-Pretzel Wetzel? They changed the name like, guys.

Oh my gosh. I'm telling you so I have like a million group chats just like you guys all do I'm sure our listeners do too and there's some that just really bother me and one of them is when somebody will start a new group chat like we have a family group chat somebody in my family started a brand new one to add one person to it instead of just adding them on the major group chat

because then you don't have to remove them when things go south you can just go back to the original group chat.

That's terrible.

Us non-confrontational girlies know how it is.

But here's my problem with that. My problem is I don't know which group chat to send people to. They added one person. But I do also say this. If you are going to add somebody to a group chat, it needs to be taken up in a vote. There needs to be a... A vote. Can I add so-and-so to this group chat?

They're part of your family, aren't they?

Well, in this particular one, So I have my brothers and sisters in a group chat, and it's just the siblings. So there's six total of us. So I'm one of the six in this. They tried to add a cousin that we just recently reconnected with, and I said to them, I'm sorry. They aren't blood-related mom and dad's blood. We could do one of those 30 and me, or what is it? 23 and me. 23 and me. We can do a 23andMe to see exactly, maybe they were my father's child or something like that.

Here's where the group chats get super confusing to me is, like, I have several group chats with similar friends in them. But like you said, maybe one or two people removed. If we're, like, arranging a birthday gift for somebody, obviously you have to remove that one person. But then that person.

and other ones so have you guys ever done it where you type in somebody's name because you're getting ready to text them and then it brings up the group chat that you didn't yes that you didn't

want you have to be super super careful right oh where did where did kp's friend go kp's friend was oh put call him back i want to find out the the offend one of the offenders of kp's group chat just called us out scott just just called us up and i wanted to do it i um shannon i don't delete any text messages because there are times where you need them for evidence proof and I will keep pretty much all of my group text messages I've been subpoenaed before for mine and what I do is evidence proof listen it's been a tough day

so um if you follow me on social media you know that i took my uh two kids lucy and smith to chicago over the weekend and we did like the aquarium and we did the slime museum and just kind of explored the city and it was so much fun well when we arrived on friday we were starving So we decided to go out to lunch at a restaurant near our hotel. And so at the end of lunch, just like you hear, you remember hearing your mom say 10,000 times, does anybody have to go to the bathroom? We should all probably use the bathroom before we leave.

Especially being in Chicago where you're walking around, it'd be tough to go to find a public restroom.

Yes. So both kids said they, you know, they did. So I, we walked over to the women's bathroom because Smith is still five and I won't let him go to the bathroom by himself, obviously. So let me preface this by saying it was not a single bathroom. Like it wasn't one of those bathrooms where you go in and there's just a toilet and a sink and you lock the door and it's just you. There were, there, there were stalls in this bathroom. Okay. So Lucy walks into the bathroom first and immediately she turns around and walks out And she says to me, Mom, there's a naked lady in there. And I.

thought okay girlfriend is still going with these april fools jokes that you know they they love doing to me and so i'm like all right lou so i push open the door and peer in above her little head and you guys sure enough there is a 100 naked woman standing there repeating over and over i'm so sorry i'm so sorry and she had a one hand trying to cover her boobs and the other hand trying to pull up her i i think underwear and pants i don't know what she was wearing on the

bottom so she had no top on no bottoms she had nothing on nothing wow and so i ushered the kids

away and turned around and i was so confused i'm still very confused as to why she was totally naked and in a public restroom bathroom.

Is she quite possibly one of those?

Is she one of the, I take off my clothes when I go to the bathroom people?

Why wouldn't you do that in a stall?

I don't know. Maybe the stall is not big enough to do it. But I've heard of people that do this, and I don't know if any listeners are like this, where they go to a bathroom and they have to be fully naked when they're going to the bathroom.

Yeah. Fully naked, but I'll take a jacket off. Or if I got to fart, sometimes I'll take my pants off and go to the bathroom and fart. Okay. Why do you take your pants off to fart? I don't like to fart in my clothes.

It stays in my clothes. But your pants are usually down around your ankles, though, right?

But if I had a jacket on, I'd take a jacket off.

Truly, this lady was butt naked. We walked away, and Smith, who, again, is five, goes, Mom, I think I just saw boobs in a vagina. And I said, I think you did see her. I think we all saw boobs in a vagina. It was just so weird. Okay.

Honestly, there have been times where you're trying to crawl back into your Spanx. And I think everybody knows what I mean by crawl back into them. And when you're trying to like kick out your legs and you're hitting this, I see it. I could see it.

It's the second date update on Mojo in the Morning. All right, what's going on? Why are you not getting a call back after you went on a date? So Cassidy went on a great date, and she says that she thinks she has an idea of why he has been kind of a little distant since the date. First off Cassie I really appreciate you so much and I want you to know this it takes a lot for you to come on the air and talk about this and I think that you're brave for doing that but you want to get some answers. Will you first off tell us the the story and tell us a little

bit about yourself yeah sure um yeah I did get to the first date I'm pretty sure I know what happened I'm a little bit self-conscious about some stuff I'm not going to get into the details of my health um it's a long story but I do have a little bit of a limp which can be you know really hard for certain people and make a lot of people uncomfortable so i'm super self-conscious about it so i got to our first date a little earlier because i didn't want i didn't want him to see

me come in and be turned off before he knew me you know okay so and you guys met on on hinge from what i understand and not on there do people say you know that they have a a handicap or

anything right that doesn't ever probably come up on there i guess i mean no i i didn't i had never seen anybody else also do that but so no i haven't seen that on hinge okay so you go on the

date you have a really really nice date everything's great and at the end of the date he finds out that you have this limp and now you're saying that um he's not returning your calls or or getting back to you or is because of that or is he talking to you but not wanting to go on another

date well yeah no we're still talking he has been calling me he just he won't make plans uh yeah and it's sort of like at the end of the date he asked me you know if he could walk me to my car

and i said no okay let's pick him up and let's talk to him henry is his name henry you're okay with your voice on the radio?

Hi. So, Henry, is Cassidy right in saying that you haven't been wanting to make plans for another date?

Well, it's not that definitive, I guess. I was holding off for a second. I mean, we had a good date, And I don't know what she's told you at this point, but...

Could you hear her on hold at all?

Yeah, some.

So what you heard was pretty much what we heard. So that's what we got, yeah.

Well, okay, so, yeah, she mentioned that, like, well, at the end of the date, I wanted to walk her to the car. And then she's like, no, it's fine. And, which is weird, like, you're just going to stay where you are, right? And I was like, okay, great.

Where were you? Was she sitting in a booth?

Yeah. Yeah, we were, yeah, so it's like, oh, and I was like, is she going to have, does she have, like, another date? You know, and, uh.

I'm sorry, what did you think?

I thought, like, does she have another date or something?

Oh, that she was waiting there, okay.

Yeah, but I was, like, fine, and then I went out to the parking lot, and I got in my car, and then I was, like, putting directions in my phone. I was going to go meet a friend, so I was, like, waiting in my car, right? um fucking with phone stuff and then um then I saw her walk out and she like she like limped out she was limping and I'm not like upset that she was limping but there was masking and not not that she needs to tell me the first five seconds or something but like um just like hiding it to the point where it's like I'm gonna not even walk out or mention any of that to me and i look like a jerk right now but it's it's the deception i guess cassie

what do you what do you want to say to this uh i mean i understand that i've been i've been dealing with this a long time you know it's just i never know what the right way to do this is like do you turn it off turn somebody people get turned off and it just is reality so do you just knock it out of the park before it's had a chance to become a thing do you not what's lying what's not i i honestly just don't know i'm just doing my best out here trying to figure it out but i mean you

said that you had a great day i i'm not thinking that this is a big deal so now that you're you are aware and cassidy is comfortable and willing to talk about it i guess i don't i don't see what

the issue is yeah i guess the issue is like how many other things do i have to like find out where

i like oh well but can you understand can you under can you understand where she's coming from

though of like i i can but like of everything we talked to it's just like hey i you know like that it that it was like she was she reserved to be information for like what would what would the difference be between telling me somewhere in the date at the end of the date and like is she going what was the plan like forever

and I'm assuming that this is something that you do Cassidy because of exactly what's going on right now the reaction that he's had how can I ask this question to you Cassidy how would you have wanted him to do this instead of the way he's done it how would you have wanted since he did see you walk

out of the restaurant you know my dream would be that he i would have fully understood if he needed to confront me about it like he was sitting there and saw me i would have fully understood if he had said something right then or called me later but he could have compassionately approached it and maybe assumed that i would be uncomfortable and that there was no like nefarious hiding of anything creepy it was just um it's an uncomfortable thing so i guess i would have hoped he would have

come to me compassionately so so if if he's if he said to you on your next phone call hey i saw you when you walked out you know i you know understand why now you didn't get up immediately from the booth and i just want you to know like that would have been the way to go about doing it i think

yeah yeah like or you know were you uncomfortable is that why you didn't tell me or like can you Help me understand what happened I feel a little duped But maybe from your perspective Something I should understand Anything open-minded I guess

Hey, yeah, so you need to own this This lamp is part of you It's part of your story It makes you unique It makes you special And so, yeah, you can walk up to someone and say Hey, this is me, I have this lamp take it or leave it and if it bothers you or turns you off guess what you're not the right guy for me and then and take away this mystery and this like um sense of like fearfulness behind it like your confidence and you're owning it is what people need to see but can i say something though

tachi this is her way of owning it and it's her story she can do it the way that she wants to and i get that some people are saying right now that you know what she's doing is being deceptive But you know what? She's not being deceptive. It was the first date. And who cares? There's a lot of people that do a lot more lying than this on a first date.

Yeah, and that's not the point I'm taking at all. I don't think this was deceptive at all. But why I felt the need to say this was that she said, I just am doing the best I can. And I just don't know.

how to deal with it and i don't know how to bring it up and then this guy feels like well i would have you know just wanted to be made aware so my perspective is like if it's gonna be a thing right and if she has any kind of feeling about it then it should come up in a way that she can own the narrative that this can be her story instead of him finding out and having to decide how to respond my my thing is like this is part of you of you and yes it's visual so it's not something that we had the luxury of being like okay i'm not gonna bring it up right away it is something visual but it's like the confidence and the energy you put behind owning your narrative that changes how people perceive things and that changes how you perceive yourself in the world like she deserves that confidence she deserves to own that story and yeah i agree and listen i'm

gonna i appreciate it you you you got a great comment but i also believe that you know uh i think that it's tough this we don't know what she what it's like for her to to have had guys probably in the in the past look at her differently or people in public look at her differently

that you were in a wheelchair is it important i would probably say that they're going to notice it right because they're going to see the wheelchair unless you move into the booth with it maybe but i don't know i again that's one of those ones where i would say it's up to you right i mean if the person walks in and sees it and then goes oh crap and then leaves that's on them

that's a lot yeah would it be hidden so if they say they met on a dating app would it be hidden in that dating dating app or would they have the picture already out there showing they're in a

wheelchair i think there's a lot of people that always try to make their pictures profile pictures and stuff look completely different than who they are and there's probably people that would hide that because they know that they wouldn't even get a swipe jen uh thinks that this is not about

the handicap what do you think um i well no i i do think that it is about the handicap i think that he's using the guise of deception to mask the fact that he doesn't want to date someone with a handicap i think he's ableist like i don't see how it matters that you notice this or she told

wanted to say i feel like she's in the right um i have ms and when i was in the dating scene i always waited a few dates to bring it up and it's just because my disability doesn't define me so Why am I going to let somebody else define me off the bat? And I don't think that's deceptive. It's just I want you to know me before.

And you have an MS because my sister has it. My sister, it's noticeable that it's tough for her to get around. Is it tough for you to get around?

No, it's very much an invisible illness for me. I'm very lucky. But it is a talk you need to have, especially I got diagnosed really young. I was like 23 years old. So it's a hard conversation, especially in that dating pool of people that young. and you don't want them to write you off right away.

all eyes are on former president donald trump his indictment by a new york grand jury will begin to unfold today he is traveling to new york today the manhattan da's office catching you up has been investigating trump in connection with his alleged role uh in that hush money payment scheme and cover-up involving that adult film star stormy daniels that goes back to 2016 to his presidential election the former president i know he had been asked to surrender on friday in new york his legal team said more time is needed so he is expected in court tomorrow where i'm hearing he'll be arraigned, fingerprinted, have to take a mug shot because the Secret Service will be with him. He will not be handcuffed at all during that process. This rumored Matthew McConaughey spinoff of Paramount plus his Yellowstone is happening. It got the green light and it's happening whether or not Kevin Costner returns to the original series. There's some talk that Kevin may not be back as John Dutton, which would just be, how do you do the show without him? But he would instead be spending time focusing on directing and starring in the upcoming western film horizon now a spokesperson for paramount says of course they're hoping to have both stars mcconaughey and kevin costner a part of the yellowstone family but we'll see now in related dirty a lot of people are talking about this kevin and the main cast dropped out of a yellowstone fan convention at the last minute over the weekend so that's fueling speculation of his exit from the series Many fans who were expecting to see the cast at something called Paley Fest on Saturday night at Hollywood's Dolby Theater were left super disappointed because Costner wasn't there. Kelly Riley, who plays Beth, didn't show up. Cole Hauser, who plays Rip, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley. Nobody came. They were supposed to attend and do the Q&A panel. The only cast member who showed up was Josh Lucas, who plays young John Dutton.

I hate that when you go to events where celebrities are supposed to be, like Comic-Cons, and it's like the guy who was in one episode.

Right, and that's kind of what happened here. So people are like, well, wait a second. Does this have to do with all of these rumors that we're hearing? I don't know, but we shall see. Chris Brown in trouble yet again. It's never good when he's in the dirty. A music producer now claiming that Chris hit him over the head with a bottle at a nightclub. This guy says he got the bottle to the head before being punched and kicked as he lay on the ground. He claims that Chris launched the assault at the Tape Club in London back in February. Chris was at the club with his entourage because he was spending some time in London during his UK tour dates. The producer says he had to be taken to the hospital, needed crutches to walk when he was discharged. and the story I'm getting is that Chris allegedly had offered to voluntarily go to a London police station for questioning but sources say that didn't happen. He's obviously now back in the U.S. so I don't know where this case is going or whether this guy is telling the truth but it doesn't look good.

I think Chris Brown has finally gotten himself together. Have you guys noticed that? I don't know.

And lastly, Knitting has once again become a very popular extracurricular activity in the United States. I thought it has been for about a while. It has been since the pandemic, but the twist here is a growing number of new knitters are guys. In Washington, D.C., actually, there's a club for dudes who love the yarn. It's called D.C. Men Knit. The club meets twice a month to knit or crochet scarves, hats, and blankets. It's the goal, relaxation, friendship, and reclaiming a pastime historically enjoyed by women. It's Mojo in the morning. So this morning we gave some hard news, the hardest news that we've ever had to deliver on this show aside from the horrible tragedies that we've had to talk about over the years. I mean, we were actually having a conversation in the studio about just the feelings and how everybody is, And I feel like the last, you know, few years has just been it's just been dragging and dragging with this stuff that has been going on in the world. And then to have the news hit us close to home and I'll briefly give you these details, but then we'll talk about it in great length coming up here in a little bit. But Spike, who has been a valuable member, one of the people who, with myself, started the Mojo in the Morning Show 23 years ago, is no longer with the show. It's something that we are getting faced with here at our company, just like other people are getting faced with in their company. and um you know the the the fact that people are sending love to to spike is amazing and also sending you know the the positive text messages and also the negative text messages about this move um and what's going on you know what just is a tribute to him and and how uh he has really affected a lot of people's lives over the years uh by being on you know this radio station and all of our radio stations and iHeartRadio. Some of the texts are unbelievable, like 248 says, the beautiful soul of Spike for all the years of laughter. I wish you and your family nothing but the best. And don't worry, Mojo, in the morning. I will stay listening to you every morning. Everyone, have a beautiful day. Too ridiculous. I will never listen to you ever again. This is another texter. I'll never listen to you guys ever again. you've lost a valuable listener to people just I'm so confused waking up on a Monday morning to hear this I hope that there's you know explanation and answers that can be uh uh expressed and it puts us in a spot where we can't because it's a it's a personnel thing and it's a personnel matter So, um, being in radio for a while, um, and going through changes in radio is always the, the thing that I will tell you is, is dreadful.

Yeah. There are so many fun things about this business and there are so many really just yuck things about this business too that just make it tough. I mean, any job has that. This one is just unfortunately very, very public when that stuff happens.

And people are, people make assumptions too. There's been also text messages and assumptions, you know, that, I think that was my stomach just a second ago, but there is assumptions like, oh, you know, Mojo's going to bring his son in and going to have his son do the show with him. And that couldn't be further from the truth. There is, you know, assumptions that something, you know, happened after the show on Friday. And the only thing that happened was what would happen to Spike. And we're not going to speculate and we're not going to say anything. And there are.

not saying anything is because it's this is between the company and and spike and also our show to be quite honest with you would not go to you and start asking you questions about things you know i mean a lot of times we hear stories all the time like there's a story that's out today about mcdonald's i don't know if you saw that at all but mcdonald's is uh is talking about that nobody's allowed in their corporate offices all this week because they're gonna have changes, I guess, at their corporate offices, but I don't know. I, I, I probably shouldn't even be going to this level of talking, but I feel like we owe it to you and we owe it to, um, the fact that, uh, you have been listening for such a long time. I mean, some people have actually said that they've been listening to the show for the all the, yeah. Can I say that? I love that

you're doing this as a, as a newer guy to the show who, you know, looked up to, to spike and, look up to yourself like you don't see this a lot you don't see this kind of impact and get to see what happens after the fact a lot and it's just i just say it's really cool that you're doing well

i i appreciate it but i will also say this that um you know we've every time we've made a a change to the show in a direction where somebody has uh been added or somebody has left it's tough and I I will say this that you don't want to see your favorite show or a show that you're comfortable with have changes

especially when it's part of your daily routine which we appreciate so much but it just it makes you feel off as a listener as much as it makes us feel off in the studio

and I think that that sometimes you know you got to be able to talk about it mike like you actually have to have to say why the heck did this happen why did why did this go on i remember the very first thing that ever happened i remember you know i went to to a catholic school in chicago and i remember one of the teachers um was not going to teach anymore and they came to us and just gave us a very vague that and i won't even say the guy's name because i don't even know if if it will get back but so and so is not going to be there anymore. And it was devastating as a kid because that's all you would hear. But I didn't understand at that time about the personnel reasons of why that they don't tell you anything further. And the kids were all upset and we were going to do petitions and protests and all the rest of that stuff. And we found out later, you know, that he went on and got another job, went somewhere else, everything was good. And as a kid, we all lived our lives and did our did our stuff and I know that the days afterwards and the days you know for the weeks and months and maybe years afterwards it's difficult but it's just something that we got to do coming in this morning was was very very difficult and I'm not trying to make myself or any of us seem like we were uh you know we're the ones that you should have sympathy for i mean you know but it was it's tough to come in here and have to have a microphone in front of you and then do what we just did the last you know 20 minutes or so of the show and try to

act like it's normal yeah can i share something that i loved about spike i um like earlier everyone was going through with you know their experiences with spike and i know i've only been here for a short seven months but spike was one of the first people to reach out to me and make me feel like a part of this family and like and and it's so scary coming into a new space and not knowing anyone and he was just so open and loving and always there to help such a listening ear like almost an emotional guy you'd think someone who plays pranks on people wouldn't be so emotional

but he's so he that's just who he is in his character and and I loved him from the moment I met him I feel like that's that's a side of him that not a lot of people got to see because he was such a prankster but he has the biggest heart too and Mike I feel like you said something very similar earlier with you know or maybe it was Megan I'm so sorry I can't remember now but like you he was just very good at making everybody feel included you know there there's always

honestly an on-air side to all of us in an off-air side you know and he has the most amazing both on air and off air side um all right so we'll give you an update again about the phone scams and all the rest of that stuff in the next hour but i just wanted to make sure that you knew what was going on and um there will be for weeks and months and who knows how how long time where people will be wondering you know oh where you know where is he what's going on um you can go back and listen to our podcast from earlier this morning on

all the times that we've talked about it we've kind of appropriately titled them all right it is mojo in the morning uh so it's gonna be kind of an awkward uh time because we're talking this week about how um spike uh is is no longer on the show and then i'm working today through thursday and then then i'm taking spring break off with my son luke it's um our senior trip spring break time for him so he gets he goes to catholic school so they do their spring breaks different than the public schools do the public schools in the detroit area were all off last week and the catholic schools are all off good friday and then they get the week after easter off um which is is kind of nice but next year i won't have that next year i'm not going to do it oh yeah because of you know i think it's i like like the idea of uh taking it off when the majority of the listeners are uh listenership is is off which was last week yeah which was last week well in this

week for smith but we didn't realize that till this morning oh wait a second this week it was really fun really fun realization guys so bring him there uh no really surprise he didn't have school last week and he doesn't have school this week either so they had two weeks off yeah oh my

gosh well so so later this week i'm gonna take off but we are gonna run back some best ofs and you're gonna hear a spike on there so it may sound a little awkward but it you know it is what it is because this was unexpected, but I do want to mention this. I want to talk about Luke's spring break. So Luke is going on spring break, and his class, the class of 2023, is doing one of the typical high school spring breaks where they all go together to some place that has 18 and over drinking. I know that they all say they're going to a warm climate, But they never seem to go to a warm climate like Florida or Arizona because there's 21 and over drinking. They always end up going. The parents always end up taking them to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Cancun. Or Cancun or Cabo or, you know, stuff like that. So this was, you know, this is the trip that Luke, you know, is set to go on. And I'm not going to lie to you guys. I hate it. I can't stand it. From a guy who loves to have fun. I hate to have fun. With my son. Yeah, I hate it. And my two older boys did not do this senior trip. They both decided not to. Jacob just decided that he didn't want to go on a trip, so he didn't do a trip at all. And then we did something, I think, small as a family. Joe, on the other hand, wanted to go on the trip, but we didn't trust him on the trip. Makes sense. So we bribed Joe that we would take him to his favorite place, Disney World, for his senior trip. And as a family, actually went to Disneyland. We did California. And as a family, we went to Disneyland, and then we went and took him to baseball games and stuff like that because opening day was right around that time. And it was because we knew that there is very good possibility that he would be detained in some foreign country or, God forbid, make us grandparents at an early age or something like that. I didn't want to do that, right? Smart decision. So didn't do it. So here's the story. Okay, Luke is not also going on this trip. So Luke had decided this on his own. I was willing to do it. He, and Chelsea was too, because it would be, you know, the last hurrah, and it's our last, you know, son. And I brought a lot of bail money, you know, put aside a lot of bail money. But Luke decided he didn't want to do it. So instead, for his spring break, we are going to North Carolina to go golfing.

Just you and him?

No, so it's Luke, it's the whole, it's the family. So it's Chelsea, myself, and Luke, and then Luke's best buddy, Jack, and then his mom and dad, Vince and Kim, are going to go. So it's the six of us all going on this golf trip. And I think, honestly, it's more fun than going to Disney. And Disney, obviously, is a place that a lot of people would love to go to. I quite possibly think it's boring as hell. More boring than golf. um but i wanted i wanted to to to do this because i saw these pictures of all of our friends whose kids go to the public schools in destinations like acapulco or cabo you know they stayed at the hard rock cafe or hard rock uh hotel in in cabo and i'm seeing these pictures i want to know what craziness happened on these trips we'll voice this guys and you don't even have to say what school you went to or in the past because I went on one of those trips once with when Luke was younger and that's the reason why Luke didn't want to go so in the past Luke has gone on that trip but he's gone as like a nine or ten year old yeah a brother to his friends his friend was on the trip and we decided as a family to tag along yes and I'm going to say this off bat bat and if You're somebody that works at the heart.

Rock and Punta Cana. You guys have a nice place, but it was awful for me. It was horrible. It was horrible to see these kids who I know is just high school kids drinking and partying and passing out in the hallways and the food kind of sucked. And you know, it is like the all inclusive thing

happened to me, but it was worse because I was in high school. I was a freshman in high school, which when you're a freshman, I mean, maybe I'm speaking for myself, but I was so self-conscious and my parents decided that we were going to take a family trip to Cancun for spring break. So I'm there and I'm a freshman and I see all the seniors from my high school partying it up and I'm with my mom and my stepdad at the time and my like two little sisters on the beach. It was so awkward.

So wait, so everybody was there and your sisters are building like sandcastles and stuff.

Yes, and I'm reading my babysitter's club book on the beach, which I still read in ninth grade. Go ahead and judge me. Chapter books are chapter books. It was so weird, yeah.

It is, to me, I don't, the parents that do this and they can do it without having anxiety, I love you guys. I couldn't. I would have been, if Luke was going on this trip knowing that he was going to be partying and stuff like that, and listen, there are kids that don't get themselves into trouble, and the majority of them don't, but there's always the one kid, and I remember the year that I went, The one year I went, there was the one kid, and he ended up getting, like, arrested or something like that, you know, or had issues.

There were a few bars that got stuck in Mexico, I remember.

And, listen, when all the families are trying to get bail money together, I'm, like, going, holy crap, what's going on? But I have to be perfectly honest with you. I got kicked off of a golf course once for how I was driving around in those golf courses. I wasn't playing. I was bored, so I was screwing around, and they totally kicked me off the course. They were like, get out.

Yeah, we went to the Bahamas, and they had a travel agency arranged for us for my whole class. And they had set up each night, like, a different club to go to with a different theme.

I was the youngest out of the group. I was 17.

Oh, so what did you have to do? Is this your first time ever getting a fake ID, or did you have to have, like, a parent try to sneak in?

I actually just had all my friends give me or get drinks for me. um and then halfway through the trip none of the bartenders ended up caring anymore yeah well it

well what ends up happening what i've noticed when you go on these trips is if you are it sucks if you have a late birthday right yeah so if you're a late birthday and you're 17 years old it kind of stinks for you because it's difficult like the first couple of days but you're right once you throw a couple tips the way of the bartenders at that point they don't care right nobody's gonna And who's going to arrest them?

And believe me, at the time, I was willing to make it happen no matter what, and I did.

Yeah. So what happened on your trip besides the drinking? Did you get any craziness besides that?

Yeah, definitely a little wild in terms of, I don't know how to say it. I feel like there's a story, and you're really holding back.

Oh my God. We never had any of that, but I wish I did.

My drink, that was my drink of choice. I figured that the cold got rid of all the germs from the glasses that we were using. I got so sick, by the way, when I was down there because I ate the food and the fish and stuff and I came back, I was like, oh my God, I thought on the plane I was going to literally just destroy that bathroom.

Well, that's the craziest part to me is that we go out every single night and everyone's going, like, no one's taking it easy every night and then at 10 a.m. the next morning, I hear everyone down the hallway banging on, And everyone's door is like, let's party. And they're, like, ready to drink first thing in the morning again. And I'm like, I'm going to throw up.

I'm amazed at the parents. You know, like, I will say this, that you have to have a lot of faith in your child. Because they just go off at night. And I always worried. I used to tell Chelsea. I was always worried that we were going to get, like, kidnapped or something like that. But, you know. Yeah. I was worried about me getting kidnapped, not my kids getting kidnapped. Well, there's a TikTok that went around this weekend and sparking a debate about what's appropriate and what's not during concerts. And it had nothing to do with anything I just mentioned. The video shows two people, guy and a girl, I would say mid-20s maybe, at Taylor Swift's show in Arlington, Texas. She was there all weekend for her Aeros tour. The video was captioned, Dropping it low at T-Swift. It has like 107,000 views as of this morning, but it was basically the girl twerking up against the guy's junk and they were kind of like simulating the motions of bacon cookies okay like right there for everybody to see so people were very quick to weigh in in the comment section wherever this video ended up being posted with many Swifties agreeing that this couple's dancing did not match Taylor's music or values lots of shame on them is what I saw One person tweeted a comment to the video Not the time or place to do that Also, I promise you No Taylor Swift song should require you to do that Another tweeted She does not have one song Where her fans should be dancing like this Thoughts? You saw the video?

They had those behind the stage seats So there actually weren't a ton of people around them

I'm thinking that's why they thought That they could get away with it But then the suites and stuff were right behind there. You don't do that at a concert, especially when you know there's going to be kids there. It was a little uncomfortable to watch.

I know. Chris Hemsworth has taken a little step back from Hollywood after learning that he is genetically predisposed to Alzheimer's disease. If you watched his Nat Geo or Discovery Plus docuseries Limitless or saw him do any interviews about it, you know that he discovered he is at high risk for the disease while filming that show. So he said he's not planning on retiring anytime soon. He's simply going to be slowing down. He's got a ton of projects in the works right now, including an upcoming Avengers sequel. But after those projects, a source telling me he doesn't really plan to take on many roles. He's just going to be spending some time with his family. Big Bang Theory star Kaylee Cuoco gave birth to her first child, Baby Girl. She announced that on social media over the weekend. And she and actor Tom Pelfrey now have a little girl named Matilda Carmine Richie Pelfrey. Kaylee wrote, the new light of our lives. We are overjoyed and grateful for this little miracle. So Joe and Jed and Ashley, they live right by it, not that far from there. And they've tried to go numerous times and they've been shooed away by the police and security. They won't let them go.

She said she's transferring all of the cats to a wildlife refuge in Arkansas. So that's where they will find their home.

summer camp you got to think this early about it it's that much like preparation to do something

like that uh so they have a they had an event i don't know if they do this at all schools but they had it been at cecily's school and in the area where you could go to like the field house and they will um they'll walk you through these different camps that they have for the school so there's like science camp and stem and all these different camps it's only like a couple days at a time but cecily's really into it and she wants to go to all these different camps and like i said it's only a couple days and i don't know if she's staying the night i don't believe any of them are overnight camps or whatever but like i remember when i was a kid like camp summer camps for me were the times where i rebelled and i did everything and anything that i wasn't supposed to do at these summer camps what summer camp did you go to uh well i was sent to i never wanted to go to any of these camps but i was sent to a camp called spring hill oh yeah yeah isn't

that the religious one yeah yeah yeah where there's like i heard it's so fun how do you you rebelled

at a religious camp?

Yeah, because they didn't expect any... 90% of the kids that went there wanted to go there. They were excited to be there because it is a really, really cool camp for kids who are good kids. But I wanted to sneak out and meet girls and play pool late at night. I thought that was cool. And so that's what I did. I snuck out. I never got in trouble at this thing, but I snuck out. I made out with girls from Forest Hills, which was cool then. Thank you

It was early high school So it's not Cecily's age But, Cecily's only 8 years old But I go to that mode of like I don't know if I want her to go to this I don't know if I don't feel comfortable sending her off And Allie's like, why? Your kid is nothing like you She is not going to do this She is going to be just fine She genuinely wants to go to these things to do the projects and all these other different things. She wants to play sports and all these other things. But in my mind, I'm like, well, you know, I told my mom I wanted to do these things too, but really I just wanted to kiss girls. That's all I wanted to do.

That's what you wanted to do. Do kids have, any of our listeners have any, like, go away to summer camp stories? Because you will hear some stories when you go to camp that late, middle school, high school, where, you know, there's a lot of flirting and stuff That happens And I've always wondered about that All my neighbors always send their kids to camps

Oh, for the whole summer

Yeah, so I live in West Bloomfield And there's a lot of our friends that are Jewish And so a lot of the Jewish families Will send their kids And they go on to these camps together And the parents just have the greatest summer of them all Without these kids

I had so many Jewish friends growing up And I didn't realize That's a really big deal And they had the best sleepaway camps I was always so jealous that I didn't get to go. And they're gone for like eight weeks at a time. Yes. It's long. It's serious. Yeah. I went to Interlochen Arts Camp up like near Traverse City for three summers in a row. And that's that was four weeks. And I feel like they I mean, it's like it's basically like you're at school because you're there to either do dance or an instrument or I was there for theater and like singing and stuff. But they watch you like a hawk, Mike. Like, there was no chance you were doing it. I think the worst thing that happened to me was I didn't pass my swimming test, and I couldn't go in the lake. But, like, there's no speaking anywhere.

I wonder if there's somebody that went with Mike. 248 says, my sister was kicked out of Spring Hill because she was caught drinking and making out with a boy. She was asked not to come back because it was a repeat offense. I wonder who that boy was. How old is your sister? Tell us. Was that Mike? And, you know, I don't know if it's if it is ever going to be appropriate to to bring them back. um you know time will tell um and one of the things that we know about uh the scams that spike has done over the years is that there were a lot of people that tried to imitate them and do and they were never duplicated so there you know there was times over the years we would hear a radio show that would do um and some did great job but then there are others that were legitimately taking word for word the stuff that he would do so so we're not going to do that and you know So it's a struggle today, and it will be a struggle for days, weeks, and months, and possibly years, who knows, to come. But, you know, we wish every one of our listeners, you know, that you give us a shot, and hopefully you will. And if not, we understand. You got that choice. I can always remember when my favorite TV shows and stuff would not have a person on there, you know? And you didn't know what the story was. You talked about Yellowstone earlier this morning.

I don't know how you do Yellowstone without Kevin Costner. You know what I mean? Like, I just don't know how that happens. um and then there are you know those uh you know times where you see people that will do a show and some people will you know step up to the plate and some people some things are reinvented we you know you do things a little bit different we don't know I got to be perfectly honest with you yeah it was sprung on us um and a lot of people ask that question like you know Well, of course you knew. It's your mojo in the morning show. Well, I did know, but I knew literally, like, the... the last second, uh, the end of, of last week. And, um, you know, it's tough. This is, uh, and the thing is you try to be as professional as you possibly can be. And I think that everybody here has been professional and you do that because we got

jobs, you know? So, but it still sucks. Yeah, it does. It's hard. Um, but, uh,

you know to think of the scams that we've done over the years how many scams do you think that that spike has done i mean it's got to be in hundreds and hundreds i mean i i don't know if it's if it ever reached thousands of scams it was yeah i mean i look back in in the archives of stuff that is here and each one of our little things are 150 plus and there's you know 150 times i don't know so how many it's definitely probably over a thousand then i guess if you if you look at it yeah um you know the very first phone scam that we ever did the very first phone scam was when he called chelsea as she was moving our whole family out from arizona yeah and he had

eric on as the moving company guy so if he did it for 23 years at one a day uh about 5 000 a little

over 5 000 there was a lot if that number is right karen what's going on it's mojo in the morning

at like one o'clock in the morning so like it was a long day for me and by the time we had gotten to the restaurant that night I really really really needed sleep and food and it took an hour and a half for us to get our food and I remember turning and not my head like my whole body towards my brother and just looking at him and Shannon have you ever done this where you're crying but you're not you're not trying to cry it's just happening against your will yes and like you're not like sniffling and your voice isn't weird but the tears just won't stop they're streaming out of your eyes and i just looked at my brother i was like at what point do we think it's acceptable for me to bring up the fact that it's been an hour and a half and we still don't have our food and my brother's like are you okay and i'm like i think my entire body is shutting down on me and i don't know how to make it stop he's like uh what can i do to help i was like the tears won't stop i don't know what to do i don't know what to do they just keep falling so that's night one is it by the way

is it funny when you they come to you and they say i'm sorry we're gonna check one more time and then all of a sudden you go no or you know it's like that people are like oh lady you really want the food that bad that you're crying over it but it's the it's probably everything the sum of

everything right well the server came over at one point he was like are you sure it didn't come out i was like yeah no we don't have any food or dishes on our table and i just thought you know what i think i can get a free meal here no i'm hungry feed me please feed me i need this i hate

that when they don't know what's going on at their own table because there's so many people there and they also do that rotating of tables yes have you seen it was this one of those restaurants that did

that well it's one of those restaurants where somebody from the kitchen will bring your food so the after they like oh yeah get the order they don't really check on you again which is a good

thing to have happen because 99.9 percent of time it actually is a good thing because it means you're going to get your food fast or you'll get it as soon as they put it they won't put it up on a heating lamp or anything that stuff but sometimes the the person who's your your waiter or waitress your server's not paying attention right right but it's just embarrassing thank god everybody

around me was hammer drunk because i was just the girl crying in the corner waiting for food it was kind of ridiculous looking back at it very embarrassing and then that wasn't even the gist like that was just night one of my weekend night two I had family in from out of town and we were talking about some pretty deep and heavy family things that had been happening recently lots of bad news has been coming out of my family in the past couple of weeks and um there was a death in our family and it was heavy it was a lot and we were talking about it for the first time just as our server started walking up to our table. So I was bawling sitting there in front of my pasta, which was very delicious, but just like bawling. And she came to be like, how's everything tasting? And then looked at me and was like, I'm going to come back in a little bit. Just absolutely embarrassing that I can't stop crying in public in front of my food all weekend.

So is there a pattern here? What is the pattern?

I think I've been letting myself get too hungry.

Is that what it is? So your blood sugar. When your blood sugar gets to a certain point, you got to eat.

You need to carry some snacks in your bag like I do. I was going to say, I feel like I should turn into a mom and I should have a little thing of goldfish.

I should have some fruit by the foot, a granola bar.

I remember I did it in an auto zone I was walking through AutoZone, getting a part for my lawnmower, and Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dying came out. Oh, my God. Oh, that's right. I'm not joking. And I just, it literally hit me. Because my dad, I mean, not to be fair, my dad had passed away like a year or two before that. And that song just made me, like, it put me in my feelings and nobody had any idea what was going on. And I'm looking at a little part for a lawnmower in tears, just sobbing as the people from AutoZone are like, what in the hell do we do? Like, they don't know what to do. And I just sat there and just bawled and bawled and bawled and bawled.

I was crying out on the treadmill of Planet Fitness last night. I cry every day, by the way. At Planet Fitness, you cry every day. No, I don't think that's an exaggeration. I am a very emotional person. I cry all the time when I'm happy. I cry when I'm sad. My kids make fun of me for it all the time.

Last night, I just, there were so many things that were, like, happening, and it all just came to a head. And I was on the treadmill, and I just, like, my mind started going 1,000 miles per hour. So I'm sweating and crying, and I hope it just looked like sweat, but it wasn't. It was just a big mess.

Well, you have said that Sunday nights when you transfer kids is very difficult for you.

Honestly, and that was, I mean, there were a whole bunch of things that were part of it, but Sundays are awful for me. And so I try to get out of the house and do stuff when I'm feeling that way. And so last night I'm like, I'm going to go and just, you know, walk on the treadmill. And so that's what I did. But, oh, I was a big mess.

I'm like you. I cry all the time, too. Everywhere.

I have no shame in crying.

And like Mike, where a song will ignite a cry. And that will be the tough one for me. I started watching a new show. Actually, I started and finished it so fast. but i watched uh that harrison ford show that's on apple tv called uh shrinking have you guys watched that at all no oh my god i'm gonna say these you guys it's my new ted lasso it's so it's so good it's really really good but there's a couple of moments i won't explain what the show is about because you got you get a surprise right away in the uh on the show but it was so good and i'm one of those people that all of a sudden you know they get a moment where it's a really emotional moment and i started crying and then the song comes on and they all it's one of those shows that uses covers of songs and it was an old song but they used a cover of it and i was like oh so as i'm crying i'm pulling out my shazam to try to shazam the thing how did you always send those to me watch that show i'm telling you guys watch that show i saw it just got renewed for a season two it is so good first off i never seen harrison ford in a role like this before it was so good

comfort and i don't know what's worse a group of people like crying in front of a group of people like that or being the only one in a store and crying and then the employees are looking at you like I don't know what to do I mean the Apple

stores have like 40 people in them at a time so I was a little embarrassed but also

just crying. Did anybody look at you like strange? Did they think

something was weird? Employees, other people

Oh yeah they were talking about the crying lady weren't they? Yeah

You'd think they'd be used to it in there because everybody's got storage issues and I would get sent over the edge, too.

a call back after you went on a date so cassidy went on a great date and she says that she thinks she has an idea of why he has been kind of a little distant since the date First off, Cassie, I really appreciate you so much And I want you to know this It takes a lot for you to come on the air and talk about this And I think that you're brave for doing that But you want to get some answers Will you first off tell us the story And tell us a little bit about yourself?

Yeah, sure Yeah, I did get to the first date I'm pretty sure I know what happened I'm a little bit self-conscious about some stuff I'm not going to get into the details of my health. It's a long story, but I do have a little bit of a limp, which can be, you know, really hard for certain people and make a lot of people uncomfortable. So I'm super self-conscious about it. So I got to our first date a little earlier because I didn't want him to see me come in and be turned off before he knew me, you know?

Okay, so you guys met on Hinge, from what I understand, and not on there do people say, you know, that they have a handicap or anything, right, that doesn't ever probably come up on there?

I guess, I mean, no, I didn't, I had never seen anybody else also do that, but, so no, I haven't seen that on Hinge.

Okay, so you go on the date, you have a really, really nice date, everything's great, and at the end of the date, he finds out that you have this limp, and now you're saying that he's not returning your calls or getting back to you?

And you think it's because of that?

Or is he talking to you but not wanting to go on another date?

Well, yeah, no, we're still talking. He has been calling me. He just, he won't make plans. Okay. Yeah. And at the end of the date, he asked me, you know, if he could walk me to my car. And I said no.

Well, it's not that definitive, I guess. I was holding off for a second. I mean, we had a good date, and I don't know what she told you at this point.

So what you heard was pretty much what we heard. So that's what we got, yeah.

Well, okay, so, yeah, she mentioned that, like, well, at the end of the date, I wanted to walk her to the car. And then she was like, no, it's fine. And, which is weird, like, you're just going to stay where you are, right? And I was like, okay, great.

Where were you? Was she sitting in a booth?

Yeah, we were, yeah. So I was like, oh, and I was like, is she going to have, like, another date?

You know? I'm sorry, what did you think?

I thought, like, does she have another date or something?

Oh, that she was waiting there. Okay.

Yeah, but I was, like, fine. And then I went out to the parking lot, and I got in my car, and then I was, like, putting directions in my phone. I was going to go meet a friend, so I was, like, waiting in my car, right? Fucking with phone stuff. And then I saw her walk out, and she, like, limped out. She was limping. And I'm not, like, upset that she was limping, but there was masking. And not that she needs to tell me the first five seconds or something, but, like, just, like, hiding it to the point where it's, like, I'm going to not even walk out or mention any of that to me. And I'm going to look like a jerk right now, but it's the deception, I guess.

Cassidy, what do you want to say to this?

I mean, I understand that. I've been dealing with this a long time. And, you know, it's just I never know what the right way to do this is. Like, do you turn it off? People get turned off, and it just is reality. So do you just not get out of the park before it's had a chance to become a thing? Do you not? What's lying? What's not? I honestly just don't know. I'm just doing my best out here trying to figure it out.

But, Henry, I mean, you said that you had a great day. i i'm not thinking that this is a big deal so now that you're you are aware and cassidy is comfortable and willing to talk about it i guess i don't i don't see what the

issue is yeah i guess the issue is like how many other things do i have to like find out where i

like oh well but can you understand can you understand where she's coming from though of I can, but, like, of everything we talk about. to it's just like hey i you know like that it that it was like she was she reserved to the information for like what would what would the difference be between telling me somewhere in the date at the end of the date and like like is she going what was the plan like forever well

and i'm assuming that this is something that you do cassie because of exactly what's going on right now the reaction that he's had um how can i ask this question to you cassie how would you have wanted him to do this instead of the way he's done it how would you have wanted since he did

see you walk out of the restaurant you know my dream would be that he i would have fully understood if he needed to confront me about it like he was sitting there and saw me i would have fully understood if he had said something right then or called me later, but he could have compassionately approached it and maybe assumed that I would be uncomfortable and that there was no like nefarious hiding of anything creepy. It was just, it's an uncomfortable thing. So I guess I would have hoped he would have come to me compassionately and said, hey.

So if he said to you on your next phone call, hey, I saw you when you walked out, you know, I, you know, understand why now you didn't get up immediately from the booth. And I just want you to know, like, that would have been the way to go about doing it, I think, Henry.

Yeah, yeah. Like, or, you know, were you uncomfortable? Is that why you didn't tell me? Or, like, can you help me understand what happened? I feel a little duped. But, like, maybe from your perspective, something I should understand, something, you know, anything open-minded, I guess.

Hey, yeah. So you need to own this. This lamp is part of you. It's part of your story. It makes you unique. It makes you special. And so, yeah, you can walk up to someone and say, hey, like, this is me. I have this lamp. Take it or leave it. And if it bothers you or turns you off, guess what? You're not the right guy for me. And then take away this mystery and this, like, sense of, like, fearfulness behind it. Like, your confidence and your owning it is what people need to see.

But can I say something, though, Tachi? this is her way of owning it and it's her story she can do it the way that she wants to and i get that some people are saying right now that you know what she's doing is being deceptive but you know what she's not being deceptive it was the first date and in in who care you know who cares there's a lot of people that yeah that do a lot more lying than this on a first date you know

yeah and that's not the point i'm taking at all like i don't think this was deceptive at all but why i i felt the need to say this was that she said i just am doing the best i can and i just don't know how to deal with it and i don't know how to bring it up and then this guy feels like well i i would have you know just wanted to be made aware so my perspective is like if it's gonna be a thing right and if she has any kind of feeling about it then it should come up in a way that she can own the narrative that this can be her story instead of him finding out and having to decide how to respond my my thing is like this is part of you of you and yes it's visual so it's not something that we had the luxury of being like okay i'm not gonna bring it up right away it is something visual but it's like the confidence and the energy you put behind owning your narrative that changes how people perceive and that changes how you perceive yourself in the world like she deserves that confidence she deserves to own that story and

Yeah, I agree. And listen, I appreciate it. You got a great comment. But I also believe that, you know, I think that it's tough. I would probably say that they're going to notice it, right? Because they're going to see the wheelchair Unless you move into the booth with it Maybe, but I don't know So, again, that's one of those ones where I would say it's up to you. Right. I mean, if the person walks in and sees it and then goes, oh, crap, and then leaves, that's on them. That's a lot about them. That's a lot.

Would it be hidden? So, let's say they met on a dating app. Would it be hidden in that dating app? Or would they have the picture already out there showing they're in a wheelchair?

I think there's a lot of people that always try to make their pictures, profile pictures and stuff, look completely different than who they are. And there's probably people that would hide that because they know that they wouldn't even get a swipe. Jen thinks that this is not about the handicap. What do you think?

Well, no, I do think that it is about the handicap. I think that he's using the guise of deception to mask the fact that he doesn't want to date someone with a handicap. I think he's ableist. Like, I don't see how it matters that you notice this or she told you about it if you don't truly care about it.

Yeah I'm here So I just wanted to say I feel like she's in the right I have MS And when I was in the dating scene I always waited a few dates to bring it up And it's just because my disability doesn't define me So why am I going to let somebody else define me off the bat And I don't think that's deceptive It's just I want you to know me before

And you have an MS, because my sister has it. My sister, it's noticeable that it's tough for her to get around. Is it tough for you to get around?

No, it's very much an invisible illness for me. I'm very lucky. But it is a talk you need to have, especially I got diagnosed really young. I was like 23 years old. So it's a hard conversation, especially in that dating pool of people that young. And you don't want them to write you off right away.
