good morning welcome to the mojo in the morning show it's good to have you guys here with us today back I was off last week took Luke on his senior year spring break I know we talked before about how Luke my youngest son was gonna be going on his senior year spring break not doing what a lot of the kids in his school were doing which was going down to Punta Cana and hanging out on the beach he wanted to do something different and so we did do something different and i gotta tell you guys it was really awesome it was such a cool like moment for both chelsea and i which could have been like a really honestly it could have been one of those times where luke goes on this thing and goes i wish i was with everybody else you know because everybody else is you know hanging out and probably you know basking in sun and water and drinking and all that stuff because you know they go down to uh these places that you know they can drink yeah although luke luke is 17 so he you know he would not have been able to um we took luke it was his choice he he's into golf he loves golf he's actually on his uh school's golf team and so we took luke to a place that uh and i know you guys all know probably about the masters and how great the masters uh you know is you know that tournament is this course that we took him to i would say is ranked like second third or fourth to the best golf course in the the world which is uh augusta national which is where the masters is we took them to north carolina to a place called pinehurst and they actually have like uh u.s opens there so it's yeah so it's actually a a like a tournament course, but it's also a town, Pinehurst, North Carolina, where I call it Disney World for Golf, because all there is is golf. Like, Mike, I know you don't like golf, right? Maybe miniature golf is your thing? I like-ish. I like-ish. I'm not good at it, which is the frustrating part, but I like it a little bit. This town would probably not be a place, I would say, for you to go.

travel to all the all because it's all golf like it's basically golf courses upon golf courses upon golf courses and then everything's about golf like you go to restaurants and basically you're eating out of like you know a golf club you know what i mean yeah everything's or drinking out of a golf club or something like that there is a cool thing you would like this there's a cool they have a a place that's like um on their their thing where it's like a it's called a par three course so it's a short course so it's every hole is like only a hundred yards and it's actually

kind of fun par three means i don't yeah so what is that you know so it's basically you got to get

it within three okay yeah so um but long story short um there were a couple of moments in and i'm going to tell you guys this i'm not the most physically fit guy in the world i know you guys don't know that right you or don't believe that right are you looking for that right I am not the most physically fit individual in the world, but I was able to walk without a golf cart two of the rounds that we did, 18 holes, over 20,000 steps.

Holy crap.

It was craziness. It was absolutely craziness. One of them, one of the things was we golfed in four hours. In four hours, I had 16,000 steps. I was like, what in the world is happening to me? And all I kept doing the whole time was praying that I didn't have to, like, you know, call for medics. Because the worst thing in the world would have been for Luke to see his dad, like, you know, die on his spring break trip.

Now, why don't they let you drive carts? Because that's my favorite part about golf is riding around in the carts. I like to golf a little bit, but boozing in the carts is the best part. Why don't they let you do that?

I think that, well, this course that they do is a course where they play, like, actual tournaments. on so i don't think that they like to have the carts on there like digging up the because it'd be guys like you and i that would be like driving up on the green and things like that you know but so i think they try to keep it from and also i think it's the that's kind of how golf was before there was golf carts you know i mean like people were doing that yeah so we end up we golfed like four days uh you know four days of non-stop golf and one of the times we're walking and as we're walking up this uh green we start you know talking to each other and it's luke and myself and then luke's best buddy jack and his dad vince okay and we're walking and he's vince is walking with jack and i'm walking with luke and i looked at him and i said to him um i said i hope that you remember this like what we're doing right now in this moment yeah for the rest of your life yeah Because.

You're going to make me cry. I know.

Because if I was to do this with my dad, it would have been like the greatest thing ever. Core memory. And he looked and he said, Dad, I want to come back here so bad with you again. And I will remember this for the rest of my life. It was like really one of those. It was honestly one of the coolest moments ever.

And I'm so happy you guys chose to do something different. It was cool. Not that I'm saying that, you know, the kids that went to Punta Cana or wherever, you know, everybody went with their classes, but that, it's so special.

They had the kids, listen, I'm sure that they had the best times ever doing that, and we've done that before, and it's awesome, but I do believe, like, this was kind of a Luke thing, like, this is what he kind of likes. Yeah. So this is what he's passionate about, so it was cool for him to experience it. We also experienced it, I told you about Luke's best buddy since kindergarten is Jack. And this is an interesting thing. Luke's principal is Jack's mom. So we were also traveling with the principal of Luke's school. Are there any teachers or principals or people that are in administration listening right now? Because I have known Kim since Luke was in kindergarten. Since Luke and Jack were, what, five years old or whatever it was.

Yeah.

And we've gone out and we've had dinner, drinks, things like that. But this is like spring break. And honestly, I have to tell you, I feel bad for teachers and principals and people that work in schools because it's tough for you to let loose.

All eyes are on you.

And I wanted to ask this question of teachers and stuff. Is it hard for you to go out with your family and friends and have like a drink or a cocktail or party and stuff? Because I was asking Kim this question because Kim and Vince are, you know, they've been longtime friends of ours. And I just looked at Kim and I thought, this woman has so much pressure that she's got put on her. And I know that we have to be like, hey, of ourselves when we're out in public because there might be somebody that might know who we are. But it ain't nothing compared to if you're a teacher of a school or the principal.

I mean, the principal, especially like a Catholic school, you can't go out and do keg stands, can you?

I mean, you could. You'd go viral. You'd go viral.

That's the problem. And I actually made a joke. I actually joked at one point and said to Luke, I go, Luke, how cool is this? We're partying with the principal. We were just hanging at a place eating dinner and stuff like that. But Luke obviously thinks of her as his principal, thinks of her probably even more as his buddy's mom yeah so and she was definitely in mom mode she was not in principal mode you know last week um but uh but all I kept thinking about was I have so many friends that are teachers I have so many friends that are you know school administrators you know that work in schools and I you guys cannot I don't know how you live in your community

that you are a teacher at I remember going to a charity event a couple of years ago for a girl that I went to high school with and several of my high school and middle school teachers were there and they were all just, they were boozing. And it was just so weird to see my high school,

like biology teacher, you know, ripping shots. When I was a kid, I used to get excited when I saw the teacher at Kroger. You know what I mean? Oh my God, she eats food. All right. And lastly, Montana could be the first state with an absolute ban on TikTok. On Friday, the state legislature approved a bill that would completely prohibit TikTok from operating in the state of Montana. Now, Governor Greg Gianforte still has to sign the bill. But Montana's proposed legislation would fine any entity, an app store or TikTok, that breaks this law $10,000 per violation per day. The users of the app wouldn't be penalized. Okay. So I'm not sure how that works. But the bill would also ban downloads of TikTok in the state of Montana. And this would all take effect on January 1st, 2024, if it goes through.

By the way, it's Montana. I'm assuming that they don't have the greatest Wi-Fi service in their state. Wow. So maybe it's not that bad. You know what I mean? That they banned TikTok.

Yes, I wanted to so bad because it was so nice all last week and then this weekend. And I thought, oh, I'll just do it now and I'll be able to enjoy it for, you know, a little bit. And then I forgot that we're getting snow today, maybe.

I'm sorry. It was 80 on Saturday. I know. If anybody comes over to your house, they have to sit on the ground or stand. It's a standing party.

This is that weird time of year, though, in the state of Michigan and in Ohio where, you know, you want to put away your winter stuff. You want to put out your spring and summer stuff. But then it's just like it's a crapshoot of what of what's going to happen each day.

I actually never take my ice scraper mic out of my car. Never at all. No, I leave it in. Well, because I'm just like a pack rat and stuff. But also, if I take it out, then next year I can't figure out where the heck it was. So I have no idea where it is, you know, and I because I'm just not a very organized human being. I have to.

You do? Why? Because I always feel like I'm going to step on it or it's going to, it always feels like it's in the way. It's never in a spot where it's convenient to have it in my car.

So even just having it like in the back, like putting it in the trunk or something, what do you got in there? What else do you have in there?

I got strollers and bags and McDonald's fries and all sorts of, but here's the thing. It also feels like summer is here when you take it out. It also feels like we're moving forward and in that summer mode. That's why I have to.

Like, get prepared. and uh yeah i met this this guy who was very adamant that by the end of the night we were gonna kiss but i found a red flag wait wait wait wait first of all who like she kind of like

And I was adamantly saying, F now, we are not listening to country. Not tonight. Not tonight. Not tonight. Can't handle it. Will not do it. I will literally jump off his bike and run away like we are not listening to country music. And he pulled up his streaming services And literally every single song Was a country song And I just said that is your red flag sir Absolutely red flag And we started fighting over it But I think if you only listen Exclusively to country music Red flag

was like the consulting of of uh before the appointment the consultant appointment and it was the consultation that's what it's called and so i thought you had to like during consultations they would go through and check everything to make sure that you're able to to do this like i thought they would have to look at things and observe things and i knew there would be questions but so i had no idea what to expect going into this and it's all over zoom so i'm freaking out i'm panicking the whole time i'm like preparing myself i'd shaved i trimmed things up because i'm like i'm gonna have to show this person my junk over video and i wanted to present it correctly and so then i get a text the day of and it says it's an hour before i thought it was and to please check in in the next 10 minutes and i'm at planet fitness at the time so i'm like what the hell am i gonna do so i had to go sit in my car at planet fitness as we're starting this meeting again preparing myself to whip out my stuff in the middle of of a parking lot i'm like i'm gonna get in trouble i i don't know what to what i'm gonna do here so she comes on and she's like hey you know um we just want to make sure you're okay to to to do this we're gonna ask you a few questions and i'm like hey i just want to let you know i'm in the middle of a planet fit

this parking lot right now so i don't know if i have to show you stuff but i feel like you might just have to uh just uh go with it and just say that i you know that i'm okay to do this she's like why would you have to show me stuff and i'm like well because you're gonna you're gonna need to see that i'm able to do this she goes did you have kids i go yeah she goes do you want to have kids anymore i go no she goes yeah you're okay you can do this then that was gonna be my question

By the way, I like that you were so focused on that you were going to show stuff that you put the time next to the time that you were going to Planet Fitness. So instead of actually being home in a private area of your house, you actually were in a Planet Fitness parking lot and were going to Zoom call or whatever it is, telehealth or whatever, in the parking lot of a business.

Well, it wasn't supposed to be that. I thought I had an hour still. It was an hour earlier than what I thought. Okay. The thing was, so you were going to go, were you going to go home to a quiet place? Yes. Yeah, yeah. That was the plan. But then I figured I'd be a little pumped up, too, you know, so if I had to show stuff off, I had just worked out.

With a mirror so that I could see the angle because I wanted to make sure there weren't long hairs or whatever. I wanted to make sure the lighting was... I did it in the bathroom and I have the adjuster thing on my lights. I adjusted the lights in the bathroom so that I could have the correct lighting.

or whatever they call it you know uh um appointment because now these appointments it's funny because now when you'll make an appointment with a doctor the doctors will go yeah we can see you on you know june the 24th of 2029 or we can do a telehealth call on you know tuesday yeah and so they'll do this thing but i'm wondering there are certain things that they can't do right they can't actually you know i i don't know how you accomplish what had what mike was having done uh over telehealth if they did need to see your private parts at that time because you can

send doctors pictures and stuff so i assume that's what they were going to do it's just like a quick peak you know i was gonna like hold it like a grape or sorry not a grape learning a lot about

your anatomy this morning although honestly your testicles you don't i don't know if you want them to be like you don't want them to be another fruit i don't know they're gonna be grapes here shortly once they do the procedure right exactly i will never forget by the way when i went in to go get my vasectomy and the doctor said wow you must be cold

you have to rest yeah definitely have to like you know lay down for like a couple three days with a lot of people will use frozen peas and put those on their private parts and stuff. Mike, you need to milk this for everything you got. Shelly, what's going on?

Hi. Well, my cousin's a little crazy, and she's always complaining about having bowel issues. So she's gone to see a lot of doctors, and the couple tests that she's had to have was called a defecating proctogram. Okay. And what it is is basically you sit on a toilet, and there's a camera in there, and the doctors watch you poop. No. No. I have never heard of that. No. I'd rather suffer. No. Good fan. They put something in your bowel, like, you know, so the highlight, like, if you have any colds or whatever, and then they watch you poop. No. No. Absolutely not. That's it. Well, Netflix was a big mess last night. If you were dying to watch the live Love is Blind reunion, you couldn't. You got an error message. The live event was supposed to begin at 8 p.m., 5 p.m. Pacific time. But if you were waiting, you saw this message. Pardon the interruption. We're having trouble playing Netflix. Please check your internet and try again. After more than an hour of problems at an in-person watch party in Hollywood with tons of press and influencers and Netflix reality alumni hanging out, Chloe Vetch from Too Hot to Handle and Perfect Match got on stage and announced they were going to instead tape the love is blind reunion and we'd all be able to watch it at a later date then 90 minutes after the broadcast was supposed to start netflix's twitter account finally issued an apology that read to everyone who stayed up late woke up early gave up their sunday afternoon we are incredibly sorry that the love is blind reunion did not turn out as we had planned we're filming it now and we'll have it on netflix as soon as humanly possible again thank you and sorry and i mean people just piled on netflix on social media even competing networks and streamers poking fun at what happened i saw bravo uh tweeted we would never keep you waiting for a reunion so you'll get it so this is a way i just

don't know when it's not gonna be live obviously for tv to go after the streamers and say that they don't have the capabilities or they have technical problems. I mean, everybody gets technical

Hoping to win back the audience that dropped Bud Light in the wake of their endorsement deal with Dylan Mulvaney, Anheuser-Busch has launched a brand new ad going back to the basics, the Clydesdale Horses. Last week, Anheuser-Busch lost more than $6 million in market cap because of backlash surrounding that partnership. We talked about that in The Dirty. So this new patriotic ad shows a Clydesdale horse walking past some famous landmarks like New York City, the Grand Canyon. The narrator says this is a story bigger than beer. This is the story of the American spirit. Well, immediately, people slammed the ad as a pathetic attempt to right the ship that was permanently sent in the wrong direction by the Dillon Partnership. By the way, the CEO of Anheuser-Busch issuing a statement on Friday saying, We have thousands of partners, millions of fans, and a proud history supporting our communities, military, first responders, sports fans, and hardworking Americans everywhere. We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people. we are in the business of bringing people together over a beer. I don't know if you saw this over the weekend on his podcast. Donald Trump Jr. was trying to get people to reduce their Bud Light outrage.

Anheuser-Bus with this Dylan Mulvaney thing. I'm not for destroying an American and iconic company for something like this. But when I actually look into it, I'm not going to blame the whole company for the stupidity of someone in a marketing campaign that got woke as hell.

He also said Anheuser-Busch and their employees have actually donated lots of money to Republican-led campaigns in recent years.

Well, there you go. That's the reason why he said it. Well, the interesting thing is the commercials with the Clydesdales and them going across the country and stuff just seems like they're just trying too hard. You know what I mean?

Because you know what happens on Mother's Day otherwise? It's mom wakes up in the morning to a handmade card and dad forgetting that it's Mother's Day and he's trying to race out to go buy breakfast for mom so that he can make breakfast in bed and, you know, do something.

people can fit in that thing so if you're having a seated event you're somewhere in the neighborhood of you know 240 to 260 but if you're doing a standing or strolling event you know we can get north of 300 and that's great it's a fantastic space it can accommodate a multitude of events You know, whether it's a luncheon or, you know, the most ornate wedding that you can imagine. So, yeah, we're pretty fortunate.

I've seen actually people have black tie weddings in this room. It's gorgeous. It's beautiful. But then you showed us the rooms where we're going to do the Naughty Moms Night Out, which is going to be kind of cool. Because what are those rooms called? Are they called parlors? What do you call those? Correct. They're like, so, so, Sherylane, they actually have these parlors and we're putting two of them together. we're going to bring the moms in and it's going to be a very intimate party with lots of moms so we're still going to get a lot of winners and a lot of people that are going to be able to come and win your way in by listening to Mojo in the morning but it's going to be I think like a great night to go out and party hang out with us for a few hours then maybe go and enjoy you know either a stay at the Daxton in the hotel away from your kids crying and you know uh saying mom mom mom um like that drop i always play from family guy or going out on the town and in a beautiful city like birmingham yeah absolutely so the event will

I'm one of those people who spends my birthday getting free stuff. My birthday was March 31st, and I got free stuff from Panera, Starbuck, Alta, Sephora, Old Navy, DSW, Jersey Mike, Jimmy John.

Well, yeah, so I planned out. So I got breakfast from Panera, coffee from Starbucks, lunch from Jersey Mike's, my free cookie from Jimmy John's. Like, I just planned it out.

That's amazing. And, Adrienne, when you do all this stuff and you go to all the different places, do you feel like you just wasted your birthday driving from location to location?

No. It was like shopping all day, but I got a bunch of free stuff. Like, I didn't have to spend any money. It was great.

I would say probably Sephora.

So me and my guy best friends, some nights we decide to go bar hopping and we fake proposals to get free drinks.

Now that's genius. So do you guys have a ring and everything?

Yeah, so we'll go out and, like, we'll start playing pool or something. And then, like, I'll go to the bathroom and he'll, like, fake set something up with a couple of the guys there. And then one time he actually did it with the DJ on the microphone.

That is unbelievably genius. So can I tell you a funny story? My buddy was looking for a reservation at a restaurant, and he couldn't get a reservation at this restaurant, really wanted to go there, was going on a first date that he met, this girl on Hinge. So what he did was he called up the restaurant manager and told the restaurant manager that a year ago they had their first date at his restaurant, and that on Saturday, the night that he couldn't get a restaurant reservation, he wanted to propose to her at the same table, and the restaurant manager gave him a table, the actual table that he wanted, and on the first date with another girl that he met on Hinge, he had to tell her, I just want to let you know that the only way I got this table was by doing this thing.

Oh, why did he even say anything?

Well, he did it because they were waiting for the proposal to come out. And the girl thought it was hysterical. She thought it was the cutest thing ever and she played along and they had a great dinner and the manager ended up buying them desserts and gave them a champagne bottle and all the rest of that stuff.

I hope they have an epic relationship.

Alright, it is the Mojo in the Morning show. So, Shannon, I was thinking about you all last week uh you took monday off because you were going in to get some tests done and you had to wait for these test results to come in and they finally came in so monday was a test monday yeah

i was i had two different surgeries on monday um for this i i talked i have talked about it for a while this all stuck.

stems from my getting my very first mammogram back in the fall. So please let this be your reminder, even if you're nervous to go to go get this done. But my mammogram ended up after a long process being clear, but doctors were concerned about some enlarged lymph nodes that I had under my arms, like near the sides of my breast, but under my arm, like my armpit, essentially. So I had had a biopsy and the biopsy came back abnormal. I had a chest CT scan. So this past Monday was surgery to remove some lymph nodes from my left armpit. And it was not super fun. I was really sore all week. But the waiting is what kills you. If you are experiencing a health scare and you have to wait several days to get results to know whether or not you have in my case cancer because they were worried about lymphoma it is like it was just hanging over me and it's really been hanging over me since you know for a couple of months now but oh the waiting even before getting the testing the waiting before even having the surgery for them to remove the lymph nodes was was enough but then actually after having it done and you know you're getting results in four or five days and you i sat there i refreshed my patient portal you know how you can do that online because your results usually get uploaded there first um i refreshed it no exaggeration probably 150 times oh my gosh yeah for the course of every 15 minutes or something yeah i didn't know when it was going

to come when it was going to come so did they tell so they tell you uh as soon as we have the results we'll let you know and they said that it will be in the portal or that they would call you

No, my doctor said she would reach out to me, but I thought just from, you know, all of the past testing that I've had done with this, it does sometimes appear in your portal before your doctor gets a chance to call you. And so I was just so nervous about it. And I finally got the phone call on Saturday night. I saw that call come through. I was in the car with the kids.

Wait, you had to wait from Monday till Saturday night?

Yeah.

Oh my God.

Yeah. And my doctor said, you know, I know that you have been so worried about this and I just want to let you know that there's no cancer.

That's incredible.

Yeah. That is unbelievable. So I burst into tears. I think both kids burst into tears. I was so happy that this weight has finally been lifted off of me that I just have been, you know.

So the kids knew?

The kids knew a little bit. I didn't want to scare them, so I didn't give them the full story. but they knew that mom, obviously they knew I had had surgery because they were, they were home with me that, that, you know, um, evening on Monday, but I just said, mom, you know, is getting some tests done and I didn't want to tell them the full story of what was going on. Um, but yeah.

So wait, okay. So you're in the car, the, the phone rings, you pick it up the handheld and not talk on there, not knowing what's going on or did you talk on Bluetooth?

I talked on Bluetooth. I was so excited to just get these results that I didn't even, like, I didn't even, yeah, I was just talking to Aaron.

So the doctor says this, says everything is good, and then as far as.

Everything is good. They're going to still kind of watch a few things because there were still some abnormalities. So I go back in three months, but all is good.

All is good right now. Can I ask this question? When you have this procedure done on Monday where you're getting the surgery done to remove your lymph nodes and to get them checked, are you making promises to God that, you know, I'll start going to church more often, I'll pray more often, I'm going to do it? Because whenever I go to the doctor, like with my whole heart scare and then the heart surgery and all the rest of that stuff, I probably made – and honestly, I kept a lot of the promises because I started thinking to myself, what happens if it doesn't? But I'm like going, all right, God, I'm going to start doing this more often.

I will read my Bible every single one.

Like, I'm, like, making all these different promises, you know. I'm probably very, very nice that entire week to everybody, even the people like you guys here, you know. Well, thank you. I mean, you know, you probably know. You were nice. I was nice. I was very nice. And, you know, you start doing that. But you start, you know, it's like you start thinking your life passes before your eyes. Because, listen, I know what it was like. I remember when my mom came home and told us as kids that she had cancer.

Yeah.

And I remembered what that was like as a kid to hear mom has cancer. And I didn't fully understand everything, but I saw the reaction of my family members and saw them crying. And then the battles that she went through, I'm so happy that you are good. And now that you said going into it, you were thinking like that. Now that you have these results, you've got to look at life differently now too, right, Shannon? Oh, for sure. I just, it, it has, like, I feel like I've not been myself because it has just been, it has taken up so much space in my brain, you know, to not have any answers and, and to be going to all of these doctor's appointments. And so to finally know that everything is okay. It's just, I feel like a weight has truly been lifted from my shoulders.

Good, good. First of all, I want to say, Shannon, I'm glad you're okay. And I agree. Get yearly checked it to get the mammograms because I had the same scare. Mine was just built up tissue from too much caffeine, though.

Wow. I didn't realize that.

Yeah, I didn't know that was such a thing. But, yeah, I had the same scare. And, thankfully, you know, it turned out okay as well.

Did they tell you how much caffeine is too much caffeine?

no um now i'm on decaf but they they still yeah yeah they didn't give me an amount but i just had

too much caffeine i guess that's that's awesome um and did they have to do a test and then have to wait for a test to come back in yeah so when you're driving home from that test that's all your

your mind is thinking about oh yeah and even sleeping at night it's it's impossible you just thinking of all the worst outcomes.

Oh my gosh, your brain goes 10,000 miles per hour.

How long did you have to wait for your test? Because I thought Shannon seemed like a long amount of time from Monday all the way to Saturday.

It was only a couple days. It wasn't long.

It wasn't long at all. It came back.

I remember I had one test, and thank you for the call, Heather. I remember I had one test, and Dr. Warner is our show gynecologist that we talk about, but he's also a very good friend of mine. And I remember I had one test and I called Mark up so many times that he ended up having to call. He called the hospital and said to the person doing the thing, he said, is there any way that and the guy goes, oh, we're doing the test. You know, we're doing test results right now. And so I'll stay on hold. They found it because I was bothering him so much. I said to Mark, I go, now I know what it's like.

It takes over your life. It takes over your life when you're waiting for something like that.

And I don't want to put the correlation together, but now I know what it's like when people hear that we're giving away a pair of Taylor Swift tickets. And they've got to sit there and wait forever by the phone to try to call in. Because here I am calling in him nonstop, like people call up a radio station to try to win tickets.

Second date update. Why are you not getting a call back after you went on a date with someone? One, this is very awkward because not only did they go on a date with each other, but they also work with each other, too. So there's a bit of ghosting happening. Malik, what's happening?

So, Lamara, what happened? You know, I was a little reluctant in the beginning anyway. I don't, you know, we work together. We're all very close at work. And so I don't really like to, you know, date where I work. Like, people are nosy and always, you know, in the business and, you know, want to know what you're doing. So I didn't really want to jeopardize my, you know, my work piece. But it was fun. You know, we flirted at first, and we used to have a lot of cool conversations. So I went ahead and we did it. We went out one time.

Our youngest son, Luke, who you remember when he first started school, we told him they couldn't say certain words. I was going to kindergarten, right? Yeah, it was kindergarten at a Catholic school. He only has two more weeks of high school left.

He is literally done with high school and going to be a college student in two weeks. That's so exciting. How is he feeling about it? So that's the part that has got me now starting to get, you know, a little depressed and be a little sad about this. Because he's acting differently, and I don't necessarily know if it's me just thinking he's acting differently or it's him also preparing his emotions for the fact that in two weeks from now, everything that he has known is going to completely change. Because Luke has gone to the same school since kindergarten. They started kindergarten, then they went to grade school, middle school, and high school, all in the same place. And many of the kids that he goes to school with are lifers. They're the kids that he started school with, and these kids are going to go off to different colleges or different schools or different occupations or whatever it might be. And so he's been acting a little different lately. And when I mean that is Luke and I have always been very, very close. He's not the huggy Luke that he used to be Like he's kind of like pulling back a little bit And it could just be that he's a dick

teenager you know what i mean but he's not i don't think he is not no i don't think that he is i think

that he actually is a uh is a pretty you know awesome kid but i'll kind of tell you like where chelsea and i are with this both of us are pretty sad because as excited as we were when joe was getting ready to graduate our oldest son we were just excited to see him graduate from a school

you know it's like a thank you Jesus yes and when he went off to college I was very sad and

Chelsea was very sad but sad in different ways we were sad because you know he was going to be far from us because he was going away to school in Chicago and then Jacob went away to school same situation but now with Luke that's it yeah you know that's it for us like you know we don't have you know anybody else at home you know um you know he's you know he's gonna go on and and live the life of what his brothers are you know to us like they turn into your sons into your friends you know what I mean and you become friends like think about how you guys are you know each with your parents yeah and you become more friends with them than that you don't go that far he's listening well he he's still in some cases probably you know gives you a little bit of you know the meal ticket groceries and things like that yeah well and i'm still going to probably be the meal ticket because i'm still the meal ticket in chelsea still the meal ticket for uh for jacob you know as he's still going on with school but it's different no i literally

spent my whole week with my dad he's like my best friend i get it i totally get it i um i have to

tell you that uh are you guys prepared no not at all um last week was an eye opener for me because we spent spring break with him yeah and we like i talked about earlier in the show and you can listen to the podcast of that we um did a different spring break than what was going to be planned it was you know a spring break where it was just us and another family together and we were all just hanging out and the dads took the kids golfing and you know at night we all went out together for dinners and hung out with each other and stuff like that but um it really hit us at certain points like when he and his buddy jack would leave and go do stuff you know and hang out with each other i think the four of us the parents that were there were like holy this is how it's gonna be because for them it was also the same thing for vince and kim you know jack is their youngest too so they're gonna also become you know kind of empty nesters and stuff and i don't know you know it's, it's funny because I used to be the type that would, cause I stopped living with my dad when I was a teenager. I ended up moving in with my sisters. I used to joke all the time about how I wanted my kids at 18 years old, you're out of the house, whatever, this whole thing. I want my kids to live with me forever. You know, like I love having my kids around and I I'll give you something that happened to me last week. So last week I saw, um, I saw, you know, parents that were with their young kids and they were probably, I don't know, like maybe three and five years old or something like that. And I had actually said to them, I said, cause their kids were acting like, you know, three and five year olds do. And the parents looked like they were losing a little bit of their patience and I said to them hey enjoy these times because before you know it these times are gone and as I walked away I remember specifically the guy that came up to me at 12 Oaks Mall when I was with Luke and a couple of his friends and they were running around acting like idiots and the guy came up to me and said that exact words to me and he was right I mean it was literally yesterday that Luke started kindergarten and at his school they gave him a shirt that he got to go home in that said class of 2023 and you think in your head that is so far away so far away like it was it's here right now in in all these years have kind of like went went fast yeah and I don't know what it is but I just honestly you know I do worry about Chelsea because in a lot of cases she's been a stay-at-home mom for all three of the boys and done an unbelievable job but it's going to be I know tough for her to like send you know Luke off and then

have a quiet house she's just stuck with you do you think that you guys you're welcome absolutely love the sympathetic one chuckle from everybody do you think that you guys will get like I know you have the neighbors that have How old is Bree?

Brooke, yeah. Brooke, that's what I'm at. No, yeah, thank God. I mean, do we think that we're going to...

attention and focus shifts right because like you said chelsea's done such a good job and that has been her focus for the past however many years and now like she she gets reprieved from that she's she's put in her time um so like what do you what do you focus your energy on i do worry

Well, after more than an hour of problems, it was finally announced that they were going to instead tape the reunion and fans would be able to watch it at a later date. We are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind reunion did not turn out as we had planned. We're filming it now. We'll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thank you and sorry. benefit the kids in the Pontiac Pal League, the police league. Pal is the police athletic league that's put on by the Oakland County Sheriff's Department. It's such a great opportunity for kids who are normally, their townships have baseball and soccer teams and community activities. Well, when the Sheriff's Department took over in Pontiac, there wasn't the funding to have this. So Sheriff Bouchard got together with the deputies and put together the Sheriff Powell program. And it's really a great opportunity for these kids to be close to home, their families, with many of them coming from single-parent households, not having to drive very far to take their kids to and from practices and to go to games.

And just being able to have something to do, to have an activity, to have mentors.

And honestly, them having activities and them also having mentors keeps them out of trouble and gives them a chance to actually live a life that every kid should be allowed to live. I even had people that said, hey, I can't make it to Topgolf, but I'm going to make a donation. And people just called and made donations by going to Sheriff Pal. They talked to Mandy and the team over there and just said, hey, we want to do it. I will tell you this. If anybody wants to make donations of stuff, like if you have good concert tickets, so we're putting together some of this. So Mandy wants, she says, I want Taylor Swift, Drake, and Beyonce, you know, I want those tickets. I said to her, everybody does. And she goes, well, I know that people will bid on them for the silent auction that we're going to do. And I said to her, I go, oh, Mandy, here's the deal. I think I can probably get at least one of those concerts, maybe some Taylor Swift tickets. And I said, but I don't know if I can get them all. But she said, well, can you ask the listeners if they have the, you know, an extra pair or whatever and they want to donate them to us? We would do that as a donation. So if anybody wants to do that, text me here at 95500 and I'll contact, you know, them and put you in touch with them and get you a donation for that. But they already have some cool items that they are going to be auctioning off. I told them one of the greatest items would be a get-out-of-jail-free card. Could you imagine having, like, the old Monopoly card? And you can have, like, if you commit a crime in Oakland County.

i i planned it last minute i really did i planned it probably about two weeks ago okay but still i know and i really didn't say anything about that too when i got there i was like did i even tell

anyone i was going that is that is by the way i'm sorry the most interesting thing too because i saw your social media and i saw that you were in florida i'm like what the heck and i thought to myself, I'm like, man.

world traveler here is she just posting like old pictures from a while back and then I saw those pictures of you and your friend what's your friend's name Shamir Shamir who I met at your birthday party um you guys were in in Florida at Disney and this was what a trip a graduation trip

that Shamir planned for you yeah so she got me Disney tickets um for the both of us for my graduation we've been wanting to plan a trip together and we just haven't come across any time and she's like let's go to disney and the way she did it was super cute she put sunscreen in my bag and then in the little envelope she said let's go somewhere warm and then we were talking about it and she's like surprise i got you disney tickets that's a great gift she's amazing

how do i get friends like that is amazing that's like the best ever yeah so you guys went to florida you guys airbnb'd and we're going to bring this up because i also have an airbnb story from being away at Luke's spring break. You Airbnb'd a place that wasn't too great. It was like the

Bugs Life movie, really. I walked in probably about, it was like 10 o'clock at night. So my flight landed at nine and it took us about an hour to get there. And as soon as I walked in the door, the vibe was a little off, but I was letting it go. You know, when you get somewhere and you're like the air or something feels off, it felt too humid for me. I don't know. I sat on the couch I was trying to ignore it because I had already paid for this Airbnb and all of a sudden I see two ants crawling up my arm and I look at Shamir and I'm like uh I got a couple of ants going on here I'm like what what's happening and she's like well look down at your leg and I look down and there's a cockroach climbing oh no no no yeah yeah so I get up and I'm screaming and she's screaming and she's trying to lock the bathroom door because she didn't want me to get the roach on her and i was like you got to let me in so i can get this roach off my leg so as soon as i busted in there i wiped the roach off with a toilet toilet paper and i think i'm in the toilet where there's one there's many that's what i was thinking yes i'm like there's more

around especially roaches also yeah and so what did you guys do i contacted airbnb and i was

talking to a representative and she was like unfortunately if you don't have a photo of the cockroach we can't refund you and you have to stay there i know i was so shocked by that i'm like you don't believe that i saw a cockroach like i want to stay here i have no problem i paid for

the trip but uh so the airbnb policy is that they have to actually see the bugs or see a pictures of the there has to be documentation to be able because otherwise people would probably say while the crack road cockroach is calling it's crawling up it's calling up you know what i was never mind i can't even do it now the other one actually is interesting too it was about to become

a cockroach and you want me to stop and take a photo of it for you like as i was like running to the bathroom i'm shaking my legs as i'm trying to get there to get it off my first reaction is how can i kill this thing not let me take a picture of it i wonder how many people have

ever had that where they check into an airbnb and the place is just awful because the the pictures sometimes make it look so great like when you guys rented it looked like it was going to be

a nice clean place yeah and the reviews weren't half that bad until I got deep down them after I had contacted Airbnb and I was like these are the reviews I didn't see and there was a lot of

them that said the same thing it was not a great place so we so we also we rented a condo with another family and we stayed in that when we were down in North Carolina for Luke's spring break And our issue was not necessarily the issue that you had of bugs. Our issue was the second to last day, we're leaving, you know, to go home, you know, the next day. And Luke takes his golf club and is swinging it in the room and takes out the ceiling fan of the Airbnb. And at that moment right there, all I kept thinking to myself the entire time that this ceiling fan is kind of like dangling and there's glass on the ground and stuff like that is I'm going to have to buy a new ceiling fan for this Airbnb. Oh, probably it'll cost a triple too. Oh, it's going to be at least, I mean, listen, it will probably be at least a couple of nights stay, you know, because their price, the price first off of a ceiling fan is a couple few hundred dollars, right? Yeah. Well, they're going to have to get it installed and do all the rest of that stuff. So I am panicking, and we're trying to clean it up and try to figure it out. And luckily, we were able to fix it and get everything reattached so that it was back to normal and everything was okay and it was still working and stuff. But I wanted to ask this question of people. So with Airbnbs or hotels, what have you broken that you either had to hide? Because that was also a thought, too. How do we fix it to hide it enough, you know, or what did you have to pay for? Because I can only.

imagine what people would have to pay for in that case that would suck by the way to check into an Airbnb and have it be roaches and ants um our buddy Spencer who works in radio got an Airbnb in Atlanta story ever place looked great it was in the middle of the worst neighborhood in Atlanta

he was literally in a drug house yeah yeah I don't think I stay in Airbnbs a lot actually I don't know that i've ever had anything i mean we probably did break something in them but have you ever rented a car from turo it's kind of like the same thing it's like the airbnb of cars and we we like rolled up onto uh like a curb and the whole you know that like rubber thing that's under the bumper of the front of a car and we totally ripped it off and had to tell this girl that that's what we did to her car i mean i felt terrible you told them well you have to it was hanging. It was literally hanging, Mike, from a front bumper.

My son puked in that van. Remember when we went on that road trip in a thorough car? We never told him. Oh, my God. Could they not smell what the puke smelled like? Or was it out? We scrubbed it as much as we could, but I wasn't going to go, hey. I literally scrubbed the heck out of it. Oh, my God.

Trust me. We thought about drinking rolling with this thing, but it was so obvious that something

hi okay so it's not a cockroach in florida it's a palmetto bug really what's the difference totally normal well that's what they're called and we have a house in florida and every time we get there there'll be a couple and then they scurry away and that's it and we have we spray for them um so there's not a time but that's totally but they are cockroaches palmetto bugs are cockroaches well the florida term is palmetto right i mean it makes it nicer

Hi. So I was staying at an Airbnb with my dad and my stepmom once, and they had a gorgeous kitchen. It was, like, all white. You know, the cabinets were white, the countertops, the ceiling. Everything was gorgeous. And my dad opened a bottle of red wine, and it, like, exploded everywhere. i don't know how or why it did but it went all over the ceiling the cabinet and of course i was like dad this airbnb is under my name and you're like you did this we ended we were able to clean up like all of it except what was on the ceiling because like we obviously couldn't reach it but they never said anything about it and that was like two years ago wow you're so lucky oh my gosh But it was everywhere.

248 says, same thing happened to me in Kentucky. That happened to Lydia in Florida. The host denied it. Another one here, 616 says, Mojo, why was Luke swinging at a fan? He wasn't swinging at the fan. He was just swinging at a golf club and hit the fan. Right. It was not a very smart move on his part to do that. But another person here that said, did you guys hear the story about the people on TikTok who tried to get into an Airbnb they rented just to find out from the neighbor next door that the owner was evicted and the person was renting the house that the person was evicted from the house?

I don't understand Airbnbs. What do you mean? I would not pay that kind of money to be liable for that much and to have to clean up after myself. I think back in the day they were great, and I think they're really great for big groups. Like if you're trying to take a family camping trip and there's like 15 people or maybe it's a bachelor party. We just rented one for Hacking Hills, actually, for our family right by you. But if there's like two people, I would never pay for an Airbnb when I could get a hotel room.

I agree with you because I feel like I have more control over the front desk than I do have control over that Airbnb. Like, what happened to Lydia?

Do you like hotels better than homes? Because hotels also make me feel like I'm on vacation more.

Every home that I've ever gone into has a smell. Even friends of mine who are perfectly clean people, Their house has a little bit of a smell to it

This is part of the reason why I won't have people over Because I don't know what mine is And it freaks me out And I am a scent person And I'm terrified it's bad

Have us over so that we can actually tell you what the smell is Absolutely not

I remember for a fact Walking into a house every time it smelled like dirty socks And the place was super clean So I couldn't tell you why it smelled like that But it did And that's my biggest fear

Stay away from your house for like a week Like stay somewhere for a week And then go home And then smell it
