It's Mojo in the Morning Show. Went out to lunch yesterday with our director of social impact, Bianca. We had a meeting. We had a social meeting and also kind of a how is she doing the first, how many months have you now had this job? Like a couple? Four months. Four. Four months.

Really? Isn't that wild? That flies, man. So we did a little employee review, a little thing, and we did it at a place that I pass by every single day, and when I pass by it, I'm not going to lie to you, I think to myself, it looks like an abandoned building, because we're in Detroit now, we're in Eastern Market, and everybody tells me it's the best burger in town, and I'm like, how could that place have the best burger in town? They don't even have like a front of the place that looks like it's, you know, relatively inviting. And we went to it, walked in. It was like a mirage in the desert. I couldn't believe it. I walked inside.

I have been dying to go to this place and have yet to walk in.

It's world famous, though. It's considered, I think, Detroit's best burger. But Cutters is the place, if you've never been there before.

It does look like an abandoned building outside. I don't even know it was open. I had to ask somebody recently if it was open.

It was, first off, it's one of those places where it's so dark, like when you're on the inside of the place, the lighting and stuff, when you walk out, you're like, holy crap. Like, hold on, where did, like, it's like, got that strip joint kind of feel to it, you know, where you're, if you go to a strip club in the middle of the day, you're like, my eyes there, Justin, or the walk out of the movies, exactly. I guess that's probably a better analogy.

I don't know how long you're in a strip club.

Well, I usually try to get there and be an early bird special. Speaking of the early bird special, they have a 32-ounce burger at this place. They have an 8-ounce, 16-ounce, and 32-ounce. I went for the 16-ounce, which was way too big. It was like eating a meatloaf. But that was wild. And Bianca gave me the greatest honor of saying that I am a better person to watch eat than Kevin. Because Kevin... You've watched me eat, Bianca?

Yeah.

Really? You don't watch people eat? She sees you eat when you go into the producer's room that she and Lydia share with each other. What have you seen you eat before? She says when you eat.

All my snacks, bro. The whole box of fruit snacks. That's not true.

Kiwis, is there any truth that you like to eat kiwis, too?

Oh, okay, okay, okay. I see where this is going. It's probably not the fact that I eat kiwis. It's probably how I eat kiwis. I'm one of those people that can, I don't know, ambidextrously eat kiwis. Ambidextrously. Yeah, you know, you can eat it with both hands. I can eat it with the skin on or the skin off.

You can eat it like an apple. Have you ever seen them do it?

You eat a kiwi with the actual, like, fur on it? With the fur on it. Really? I think it's delicious. A lot of people are divided on this because I posted it, and a lot of people said, what the hell are you doing? That's absolutely disgusting. But kiwis can be eaten with the skin on. I think a lot of people get freaked out because they got the fur or, quote, unquote, the little hairs on them. Yeah. But that's actually where all the nutrients are. Oh, my gosh. I did not know that.

I think you still believe that lie your mama told you. What is that? That the skin is where all the nutrients are.

If my mama is Googled, then yeah, I believe my mom.

Do you eat the skin of a baked potato? Because they also say that has the nutrients. No, I've never known. That's kind of crazy. Do you eat the insides of the baked potato?

I do. I still believe that one. I will peel the... I did this the other day, and people think this is weird also. Have you ever ate raw corn without cooking it? Yeah, like you peel or shuck it or whatever you call it. You peel the little things off, and then you just eat the corn straight like that.

Without boiling it or really, or roasting it? Really? It's kind of sweet. Is this, I mean, is this going to get you sick? I mean, can you get.

Not everything has to be. A disease? Five-star chef or the outside of the building has to look great for you guys. That is true. You can eat things the normal way.

You've got the green inside and the yellow inside. I've never seen a yellow inside kiwi. I'll bring you one. It's delicious. That exists.

The yellow inside kiwi to me would be a, I would think that it was dirty or something or something was wrong with it. No, it's delicious.

They're actually larger and sweeter.

That's right. I saw something yesterday. I don't even know what I was looking at about the correct way. I don't even know how we got on this subject, by the way. The correct way to eat a banana, according to etiquette experts, is with a fork and a knife.

You're supposed to cut it into bite-sized pieces, kind of like you would cut a hot dog, you know, like down the whole thing. And then you're supposed to make a little slice in the skin of each banana disc. Disc. And eat it like that.

Shannon, there have been presidential candidates that have lost elections for eating pizza with a fork and a knife. I swear to God, I couldn't make it up, though. If you saw a guy eating a banana with a fork, you would say, Happy Pride Month. I mean, there would be no way. Although, the only way to eat a banana is, you know.

32 ounces next time we go though dude you know how much 30 you used you didn't eat meat for how long uh seven eight years somewhere around there and you just got back to eating it within the last seven eight months probably yeah isn't that like two pounds i mean could you imagine i haven't done math in forever but we could we could do that though have you ever like especially for like thanksgiving you like prep your stomach like i know i'm about to throw down so i'm not gonna eat the day before, and I'm going to eat the whole day so I can just go crazy. Well, Taylor Swift has supposedly completely severed ties with her now former friend, Blake Lively. This all stems, I mean, we've been hearing about this for such a long time, from Blake's legal battle with Justin Baldoni over the It Ends With Us movie, during which Taylor was briefly subpoenaed as a witness. And although that subpoena was later withdrawn, Taylor just felt really betrayed and exploited by being dragged into this case that everybody was talking about. And despite Blake's attempts to reconcile the situation and save the friendship, and she did that by sending text messages and leaving voicemails and sending emails any which way she could get a hold of Taylor, Taylor has, from what I'm hearing, ignored all of it. I mean, she's basically ghosting Blake Lively at this point because she's so upset over what happened. They've been friends for 10 years, I mean, a really long time. Trial is still set to kick off in May of next year with both parties denying the allegations against them.

And then yesterday, you actually mentioned the whole not doing the lawsuit type thing.

Well, Blake dropped a piece of the lawsuit, which was the claim of intentional emotional infliction of or infliction of emotional distress or something. So, yeah, that part of it is no longer.

The other part of the lawsuit is what, the fact that it was like an abusive relationship?

Like an intimidating work environment. She said that there was some, I don't know the exact charge.

And lastly, Disneyland's upcoming attraction, Walt Disney, A Magical Life, set to debut next month for Disney's 70th anniversary. Well, that attraction is sparking a whole lot of controversy within the Disney family. From how I understand it, the show features an animatronic of Walt Disney himself, and it's designed to recreate his presence using old recordings of his voice and advanced robotics. I mean, you guys have been to Disney, so you've seen some of the animatronic stuff. Well, Walt Disney's granddaughter, Joanna Miller, is now publicly criticizing this project. She's describing it as dehumanizing, and she said her grandpa would not have been cool with this whatsoever. She also says it doesn't even look like him whatsoever. Despite her objections, Disney officials are moving forward. So if you head to Disney anytime starting next month, you are going to see this. Interesting.

Wow, I wonder if there's ever been opposition from the family over stuff like that.

But this is, he's still an angel. He is.

He is. It's not him that lied, huh? No, it's my Lucy. Lucy's 11, fifth grade, going into middle school. And not to say that she hasn't lied before. Every kid's lied, but it's been about, like, stupid, silly things, right? And yesterday, I caught her in, I think, a really big lie. And as a mom, it just, it bummed me out so much because you think like not her, but I busted her in a lie. So she doesn't have a phone. She has an iPad that she, if she's connected to wifi, she can text on this iPad. Okay. And so our rule, her dad and I are pretty strict with the iPad in terms of what she can do on it and what she can't. And we do have rules with the texting as well. And she's very aware that she is not allowed to use her iPad in her room, you know, without somebody, like if I'm hanging out in her room, she can, she's not allowed to go on certain websites. We check it. single day. It has to be plugged in the kitchen after her screen time is up every single day. So she's very aware. And one of the other rules is that she is not allowed to delete text messages. Okay. And so I had kind of assumed and saw that she was texting some people that were kind of, were off limits. Boys, boys, when I want to text with boys. And boys, by the way,

no longer have cooties when you're 11

years old. Yeah, you can't do one-on-one text with a boy at 11 years old. Just not cool unless it's your cousin. And I had asked her last week, kind of knowing this, hey, have you been deleting text messages? And she said no. So yesterday morning before the show, I go to just check what she's been doing on her iPad and I see, because moms, we know how to do this, that she has definitely been deleting text messages between her and this boy. And it, my stomach sunk. How can you tell? Because, what do you mean, how can you tell?

How did you tell them if they were deleted?

You can do it with anybody. You go into your texts, and you click edit, and you show recently deleted. I did not know that. And it shows everything. I have never seen it. I've never seen that before. So I wouldn't even say I'm a crazy mom and I check it. I'm a mom, and moms should know everything that is happening, especially with a fifth grader, right, on this iPad. And so I see that she's doing this. She gets home from school yesterday, and I say, hey, Lulu, we got to have a little chat. I'm going to give you a chance to make this right. Have you been deleting text messages on your iPad? And she looked at me straight in the face and said, no, Mama, I haven't. Oh, my God.

And you knew already the answer.

I was so disappointed. And so she no longer has an iPad for the time being. And we had to have a big discussion about how.

Did you go in and read the recently deleted?

I did not. I didn't even say who I knew she was texting. I didn't say how I knew.

But you knew that she had a folder of recently deleted.

She asked me how I knew, and I just said, moms know everything. But I told her, this is big because I can't trust you with technology right now.

So what made you not go in and read the actual deleted ones? How did you stop yourself?

no you mean i mean i went in and read them yeah yeah that's what i mean honestly it was nothing bad it was just she was corresponding with a boy one-on-one and that's a big no and she lied to me

about doing it and deleted him do you want me to go after this boy and have him killed no he's

actually a nice boy he's a fine kid but it's our rule i know people that will like break legs

hurt him in ways that you know maybe make his summer you know i'm crazy enough i could make

that happen myself not necessary here it's more about yeah the lie and i had to tell her i can't trust you with technology right now and that is a big thing for me and you know this she is also every birthday and christmas been asking for a phone and i said this just shows me you are nowhere near ready to have a phone because we can't trust you to tell us the truth when it comes to technology

because i was going to ask you about that because you know going into middle school you would think that now's the time she's probably going to need a phone nope um man you guys are uh you guys are

holding two of this huh no phone but man when you find out that it's to me that's a big lie

everything on that apple watch she needs to do really she can call me she can i mean she can text on it i just think when you for her probably probably not sixth grade okay so i'll say at this point it's going to be a little i just i feel like and if you're going oh it's the same thing as the apple watch and she can already text you know on her ipad she has screen time she's got an hour and a half on the on every day on her ipad if she wants to use it once that hour and a half is done she can no longer use the ipad like it actually shuts off the problem the difference to me is.

Once you put this in a kid's hands and I'm holding up my phone, they're like this all the time.

Their nose is in their phone. And so I want to hold off as long as I possibly can.

I respect you for that. I do. I respect you because I do think that the phones have made our kids, you know, probably a little less social and functional than we probably were when we didn't have the phones that they have. But also, I think that there's a lot of things that they can go down rabbit holes with. But I also wonder sometimes, like, am I giving up my kids' secureness of having something to call me on if they get in trouble? I know they have a watch and stuff, but can you, like, make a call that fast on an Apple Watch? I have an Apple Watch and I can't be crouched. It doesn't even connect. Well, it doesn't connect to the cell as good as sometimes. I feel like my cell is bad on my Apple Watch. But, okay, let's just go back to this whole thing. Lucy, thank you for doing what you did because now I know how to delete my... Facts, that blew my mind.

So a former coworker of mine owns a company called Bark. And if you are a parent, you got to check out Bark and it is just how to keep your kids protected with all of the technology and online and all those things. And so that was one thing that they showed you how to do.

It was actually Roblox. So my daughter was talking to older kids, 16, 18-year-old kids on Roblox. And I ended up having to take her off of Roblox completely because of the inappropriate things that these people were talking to her about.

So I ended up taking away her phone, took out the service, and it doesn't matter if they have service or not because they can still access all of these games and have a chat inside them, even Discord.

Did you know or look at any of the things that were said and did you find them to be very inappropriate?

Actually, yeah. It was so bad that I ended up having to take it to the school and approaching some of the kids that were involved with it as well.

you know they're usually okay well this was like a baby set you know how she is with the apple watch and the ipad are baby steps toward a phone and so i think that yesterday learning that this knocked her back sometime is a really good it's a less it's a necessary lesson to learn i respect you

for that i really do i i give a lot of respect and brandon i disagree with you on this i first off i i think everybody parents their kids differently but i respect the fact that it's not the fact that she's not giving her daughter the the phone uh necessarily because you know like she's figured out that there's safe issues she doesn't want her daughter to become

obsessed with the phone yeah and by the way no judgment if your fifth grader has a phone whatsoever i just know lou and i feel like that would be the case for her yeah you know your kids

She wants Lucy to be more present. And I think that that's actually commendable that you and her dad do that. So, wow, look at this, the lies, lies, lies, lies. Courtney, what lie did you catch your son in?

So I went out with a girlfriend one night last year and came back the next day. I have four kids and he's 12 years old also. and uh the next morning i usually like to check my bank account every day the next morning it showed one thousand two hundred and forty nine dollars deducted out of my account i'm like well damn i know i didn't spend that having drinks with my co-friend yeah um so the next morning i'm asking all my kids like you know does anybody do anything and it shows it's on like um tiktok or something when i go on my paypal because it was through my paypal all these tiktok tiktok tiktok And I'm questioning all my kids, and they're saying, no, it's probably fraud, blah, blah, blah. Long story short, I finally got my son to admit that he had a grand old time. I guess you can, I don't know too much about technology, but I guess you can, like, buy coins or something for TikTokers or something like that. So he spent $1,200 giving all these different TikTokers.

Little bastard.

And I did not get the money back either. Oh, wow. Support in small businesses.

going to start off with the Diddy trial. We found out yesterday that he tried very hard to keep the infamous video footage of him beating Cassie in that hotel hallway from going public. A security officer from that hotel took the stand yesterday. Eddie Garcia testified he saw Combs with a brown

paper bag then putting stacks of ten thousand dollars at a time through a money counter. Garcia recalled Combs asking if he wanted to count the bills. I said I trusted the machine. Garcia taking the cash and telling Combs he had handed over the only copy. He also told the jury he was made to sign a nondisclosure agreement. Garcia said he first saw the video after arriving for a shift at the hotel. I was told there was a domestic dispute. He said Combs' personal assistant, Christina Coram, kept calling, trying to get the tape, eventually putting Combs on the phone. He stated that I sounded like a good guy, that I sounded like I wanted to help, that something like this could ruin him. Garcia said Combs promised he would take care of me. When arrangements were made and Garcia arrived with a thumb drive containing the video, he said Combs greeted him, Eddie, my angel.

they about to rattle it off just like you that's why i said i know because it's very very specific the big big local and now national story regarding the university of michigan two chinese citizens accused of smuggling a fungus into the united states so that one of them could research this

at a u of m lab this morning two chinese nationals are accused of smuggling a biological pathogen into the US, which officials say could be used for agricultural terrorism. The fungus Fusarium Griminiarum targets crops such as wheat, barley, maize, and rice, causing billions in damage

worldwide each year. A fungus such as this could be used to damage our agricultural industry, infect our food supply, impact our economy, and harm large numbers of people. The pathogen can

caused vomiting, liver damage and birth defects in humans. Officials say last July, one of the suspects, Zung Young Liu, was caught with the fungus hidden in his luggage at the Detroit airport. Officials say they found this round piece of filter paper with a series of circles drawn on it and four clear plastic baggies with small clumps of a reddish plant material inside. The Justice Department says Zung Young initially lied, but later admitted smuggling the fungus to conduct research on it at the University of Michigan with his girlfriend, Young Chin Jin. Young Chin's electronics allegedly had information about loyalty to the Chinese Communist Party.

You had a member of the Communist Party who had a Chinese researcher working for her in a U.S. university on a pathogen that is known to be deadly to crops and to human beings. Why were they doing it? Why did they lie?

FBI Director Cash Patel saying this case is a sobering reminder that the Chinese Communist Party continues to deploy operatives and researchers to infiltrate our institutions and target our food supply. Just last week, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the U.S. will begin aggressively revoking visas of Chinese students with connections to the Chinese Communist Party. Critics questioning how those connections would be determined. The University of Michigan says it's cooperating with the investigation and receives no funding from the Chinese government

related to that research that's crazy that's good you can't bring in plants or obviously bugs food

but how do you how do you as you know the border patrol people like when they're coming through how do you know that there's a pathogen like they ask you every time we go to and from canada to

see us's family they ask you specifically but if how you could just say no yeah it's not a great

look for the university to have that happen but it's going to be very interesting to uh to see what ends up happening after this and god hope that they did not expose that to anybody

that was on that campus or any of us.

I want to end the dirty with a great update on a story we talked about. I believe it was last week, maybe the beginning of this week, doesn't matter. But 18-year-old Mikhail Baker from Dekula, Georgia. He's the kid who went straight from his high school graduation ceremony to his job at Burger King. Complete, like, cap, gown, medals, everything. He's in the dirty again. And, Kev, you wanted this to happen, and it did. Not only did the customer who created a GoFundMe for him raised more than $190,000 for his college fund. But the Burger King Foundation also did something. They awarded McHale a $10,000 scholarship. They could have done more. I know. They could have done more.

Okay, so they did something else to the customer who created the GoFundMe. They recognized her generosity. So they awarded her daughter, who's studying neuroscience at Georgia State. They also awarded her a $10,000 scholarship from the Burger King Foundation.

It's been news. Really? So having been here for 16 years. Give us the tea. Yeah, yeah, please, go on. So this building has been, actually, this building was my first storage facility ever. Really? Which is crazy because this used to be all refrigerated storage. I'm not sure if you've seen pictures of what it used to be. But it was super creepy, cavernous. You would see just pallets and pallets of refrigerated meats, fish, a ton of stuff in this building. And we needed refrigeration or just storage in general because we were outgrowing our own small space.

Great problem to have.

So we needed a place to put pallets of food. And these guys here at Metro Cold Storage were just like, we got space for you. We'll do it cheap. We got a room. You let me know what you need. So then for a good year, we were coming in and out of this building before we got a better storage solution. And then we finally moved into the building next door where I have a warehouse now.

And then Christos and everybody did this. The man's amazing.

Who is Aunt Nhi? So I started this entire company with my friend and his mom and dad. His mom is Aunt Nhi. She started doing a dry mix packet that you mix up with tomatoes to make your own salsa as a hobby. This was just a thing that she wanted to do. And then in 2009, everybody lost their jobs. I mean, it was a recession. Do you like spicy or not so much? I'll take spicy. I like spicy.

Here, I got some spicy. The mile pretty straight, though.

That's great. For sure, for sure.

So because they lost their jobs, my mom also lost her job that year. It was crazy. I mean, the recession was awful. And we were friends in college, and he goes, we need to do something to save the family, or else we're going to lose the house. So him and I decided to take this idea that his mom was doing and then just turn it into a real company. We applied everything that we knew in college to start it as a real thing, and then we built it out. Like, every class that we took was like, great, case study for Aunt Nees. Let's do this. That's amazing.

This is a great story. I'm not joking. I'm always going to buy this chips and salsa now to support you guys.

So then we built it out, and then we kept it growing. We decided to do the fresh salsa, fresh guacamole, tortilla chips, everything from there. And it continued to grow. And because of the Eastern Market, it gave us the opportunity to do so much more. I've been doing pop-ups. I do food shows across the U.S. now. I'm on HBO Max. But it's because of everything that I was able to do here at the market.

You're friends with my husband's friend, Evan, who does Nakey Butter. Oh, yeah. Evan's the homie. Also a great local brand that we love supporting in our house. Totally. I love that. That's incredible.

Dated in college and Katrina was accepted into the study abroad program in Australia for for about six months. She was gone. So we didn't really want to do the long distance that. And later down the line, we figured out that we had different ideas of what a relationship was, expectations and desire. So we ultimately just decided to just to break things off.

Grad parties are a big deal, and I don't know if you guys remember this, but I was recalling when I got through high school and graduated in high school, i had a grad party my graduation party that i had i know exactly the amount of money that i made i made three thousand and like sixty seven dollars at my high school graduation i think everybody felt sorry for me because you know i graduated in my i was living with my sisters at the time my sisters threw me the grad party yeah so people were kind of it was almost like i was one of jerry's kids or something like that and they basically were giving me all kinds money and stuff but um do you guys did you guys have a grad party did you make money i did i i

made i think i made like 2600 bucks and i remember that i used the money to buy a brand new dell

laptop okay college with me that was my i'm thinking of the dell the dell little you know

I went to Specs Hour, so I didn't go to a four-year university, so I didn't really need a crazy amount of money. It helped. I don't even know how much I had or what I spent it on.

Do you remember, Mojo, opening up envelope after envelope and just the 20? Another 20. Another 20. I remember sitting in my mom's living room and being like, this is the best.

Oh, my gosh. I got checks, which I had to open a bank account. It was my first time I had a bank account. But I got checks from, like, family members. Yeah. And I had to, like, look at it and go, how much is this thing worth? But you know what I used? You talked about Specs Howard. I used my money to go to Columbia College. Yeah. And for my first radio classes is what I paid. They had a radio class for, like, $700 to do it. And that's what got me into this career was my high school graduation money. Here's something interesting, though. I'm having a conversation with Luke, and we're talking about high school graduations because we got a ton of relatives and friends and stuff like that that are graduating. And Luke was telling me about one of the kids that he graduated with from Notre Dame Prep, and his parents took their graduation money from the kid. And I wanted to ask this as a question. if the parents are paying for the college are there any parents that ever take the money from the kid to help use towards your payment of the school tuition because one of luke's friends parents took the graduation money from him to use it to help him pay for his college or to help them pay for the uh the college would you be pissed if your parents took your graduation money i think

initially my first reaction is to shannon's point that's no fun like i feel pissed yeah but at the same time that's what it's for right to help you in your future yeah so i could see why a parent

would utilize it for the tuition see to me it's always to yeah for sure if i feel like if the student is paying for it that's like a really good thing but to me it was always you get to use it for something to bring to college with you that was always my thought like to buy you

I don't know. Because you don't want the kid to blow it. That's what the parent, you know, what they're trying to prevent.

I remember him calling you in the middle of the first semester and going, it's gone.

So here's what we did. Joe had the grad party and he got money from his graduation. The other two boys negotiated with Chelsea and us. That's right.

And they negotiated how much the grad party would have cost, like how much it cost Joe. And we just gave them the money.

Luke went through all that and like no time flat.

I think if you do get a bunch of money and cars and you have that moment, maybe go by, like they say, the 80-20 rule. Like maybe use 80% on school, 20 to have a good summer with or blow or whatever the fact is. So you can have a little fun, but also put money away for your future.

Well, I always think that the other thing, too, is that you're going to need it a lot once you go away. And if you don't, and this is the thing I screwed up with Joe, Jacob, and Luke. I didn't tell them how long a semester of hanging out is. Because they think all of a sudden that they've got now $4,000 in a bank account, that that $4,000 is going to last them. Hi, good morning. Good morning. So I was calling my friend. She actually, a little different than graduation, but she had enrolled into the Navy and had a going-away party. And so, of course, you know, tons of people. She got thousands of dollars, and she backed out last minute and didn't go, she actually ended up returning the money to the people. Oh, what?

Yeah, she had a few grand that she pocketed.

So they were giving her the money as a, you know, thank you for going and serving our country. She decided not to do it. So did somebody tell her that she had to give the money back?

Yeah, we were 18 at the time. So after a month or two went by, her mom forced her to give the money back.

It was my brother-in-law and my sister, but mostly my sister.

So we have it halfway through the front door and I bring my sister the tools and she's stuck on the stairs so I can't try to get the tools either. So she's trying, we spent like 20, 30 minutes trying to get the headboard off. Finally, I'm like, F this. I take it and I rip it and uh the whole like wood is gone but the whole time i just wanted to throw it out anyway like i

knew it wasn't gonna fit so real quick so you were you were trying to move your bed in bed frame yeah and you were able to move it out of your place the old place that you were in yeah because it had bigger doors and you were able to put it in the vehicle that drove you over to the new place but this one here you were trying to like move the whole bed together pretty much yeah okay and

This 30 is just coming out. The company that controls Eminem's early music catalog is suing Mark Zuckerberg's technology company. 8 Mile Style just filed a lawsuit against Meta. The music publishing company is accusing Meta of copyright infringement. and they want, are you ready for this number? More than $109 million in damages. So 8 Mile Style was co-founded by Marshall's production team, the Bass Brothers. Really great friend of the Mojo in the Morning Show, Jeff, right?

Yeah.

It controls all of his music that was published between 1995 and 2005. Eminem, just to clear the air, is not directly involved in this lawsuit. This is his company. So 8 Mile Style claims Meta violated the copyright of 243 songs through the unauthorized storage, reproduction, and exploitation on its platform. So Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp. So those features that allow you to throw audio on your reels, for example. This lawsuit says that Meta used that as means to allow and encourage its users to steal 8 Mile Style's music and use their content without proper licensing. The suit also claims that the songs have been used in millions of videos. They've been streamed billions of times. So Eminem's company is requesting $150,000 for each of those 243 songs via Meta. And that that is a total of like one one hundred and nine million dollars.

This is this is in the long line now of why we're going to start seeing that there was there's going to be no music on anything and no entertainment value to anything. Social media, because it's the wild, wild west right now that is starting to get wrangled up again, where it used to be that you were covered under ASCAP BMI. Yep. And now this is one of the reasons why when you listen to our podcast, a lot of times you can't hear certain things like the throwback throwdown.

She's been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. She's 37. She shared the news on Instagram yesterday. She said she's been undergoing tests for months now. She's going to have surgery in two weeks. She's in a good frame of mind. She actually was joking. She's like, it's a very dramatic way to get a boob job. But she said she's holding on to the word early, early stage breast cancer. She's staying positive. She wants to be open about her journey, though, to help others process their experiences as she documents hers. starting to all look and sound the same right and and honestly the biggest part of what we want for the show is we don't want disruption um we we have never had a situation where we've ever really uh brought in a person that turned into a a person that kind of took this the show on a wrong path our goal is to get somebody that comes in here can kind of fit in with everybody that the listeners can grow to like you know i mean because it's always people will always go oh well i liked so and so better but then all of a sudden over time oh i kind of like this person you know yeah or she's okay i mean so that's the thing and i think that that's the goal is that we're trying to come up with that so um have you guys uh thought of anybody like that that could be interesting for this job like do you for sure are there people because my people that i'm thinking i would be

interested for this job have never done broadcasting ditto yeah i have some people that um have are very very interested i know are coming that friday really um one in particular i'm really excited about um i have not spent much time with her but i have met her before and 10 bajillion people have also recommended her so like we're getting into those situations where you know yeah i like it Yeah, people are recommending people.

Yeah. I haven't reached out to any old flames, which I feel like is the hardest part when you're not having sex, is reaching out to people that you know are one call away.

What is the reason for your abstinence at the moment?

There could be multiple reasons. I feel like one of the reasons that I guess would be closer to the top of the list is I felt like I was living through lust and not really, I don't know. It felt like the wrong way to live my life at the time. It felt like I was only seeing people for that one reason, and I wasn't comfortable with myself only having relationships with people to have sex with them without having an end goal, like that being what the relationship was all about. And it felt like I was being led by lust in that way, and I didn't like that having control over me.

What got you to the point that you realized I got to do something about this?

That's what happened. Like a light bulb moment went off. I was like, damn, I feel like I'm being controlled. And I don't want to have that controlling me.

Was it just a light bulb popped up or was it over the couple of times that you were, you know, prior to that where you started feeling worse and worse each time?

Well, I think it was a light bulb moment that did pop off. But even prior to that, I think I may have mentioned it on the show. I felt like God had told me not to deal with one person. And then I kind of made an excuse of like, no, I've passed that test. And then I realized that I didn't pass the test. So it was like two of those moments.

So in the three weeks that you have been going, you know, born again, virgin, have you been tempted at all? Or has it been hard?

No, it's constant temptation.

Really? What is the most tempting?

Well, when I talked about the other week where the girl showed up at my house.

Yeah.

When she texted me, can I see you tomorrow? And I was like, yeah. And then tomorrow came and I said, don't come. And she actually came.

And she's so.

Yeah, I already knew what that was going to be if I opened the door.

It's funny because it kind of reminds me of, remember those old things where it's like you got the one side of the angel, the other side is the devil on your shoulders and stuff. What has been the most surprising thing, though, that has made you think of sex? Like, I always feel like sometimes when you haven't had it in a while, you know, everything all of a sudden starts looking good to you.

I mean, every scene in a television show or a movie where you just see a nice curvy woman or an attractive woman immediately, like just the sight of a beautiful woman or whatever the scene is on television immediately sends the brain into, oh, yeah, we need to hit up so-and-so or this is our moment to engage in activity.

What do you do in that moment when you feel that way, but you want to stop yourself?

What's been your method? Try to pray immediately.

Yeah, and it's becoming harder and harder. Do you think that, are you bringing this up because you're thinking about breaking this? Yeah, hell yeah.

Like yesterday I was like, you know, I almost reached out to somebody. It's just getting harder.

Do you find your mood is different?

I do. I feel like I'm not myself in a way. And I don't know, like when you talk about the devil on one side, the angel on the other, I don't know if, like in my mind, I was like, bro, you just need to release in order to feel more like yourself. Like I was telling you off air, like I feel like depressed a little bit. And my mind, I feel like, wants to trick me to believe, like, this is the thing that'll get you back to who you are.

But then you're going to be back at square one feeling this way.

Exactly.

Can I tell you something? And you're not at that point yet, I don't think. Three weeks is, no offense, not that long of a time to me. Well, that's to you. What I'm saying is, you may get to a point where it's, like, out of sight, out of mind. Because I know I felt that way. like when my marriage was ending and then when I was going through my divorce and I didn't date anybody before I met Wes it was years of not having sex and Mojo kept asking me don't you feel like don't you feel like horny like don't you want to and I was like nope really it was like nothing

my biggest thing was not sex with you my biggest thing was don't you want companionship like it

was a don't don't you like well yeah but that's a totally different subject like he's talking very specifically about sex right i get it and it was but i i didn't it wasn't even crossing my mind until i watched bridgerton and then i had a you know a little bit of an issue but

really the actual tv show turned it made you want to go out again and do it because of the

no i mean it that was like yeah i was like oh i do you know i'm still alive do you look at

at female friends differently now like do you feel like you're looking at them less sexual or more sexual since you haven't had sex in three weeks? I don't know.

But going back to another.

Because you're talking about TV shows and stuff like that, everything being sexual.

I mean, yeah, I'm sure I'm looking at, you know, somebody walk by, you know, an extra longer look. Right, where you normally wouldn't look. But look, though, you said something about companionship, and I feel like the companionship thing, yes, but then also I feel like the companionship could lead to sex. So I feel like it's all wrapped in one for real.

wonder if you would still feel this way if you had only been hooking up with one person instead of several?

Like if I just had one buddy? Or if you had a relationship? If you actually had a relationship.

interesting point though where i talked to my best friend about this because we was trying to get biblical and really identify like where does this like i was trying to when she brings up jasmine who's my son's first mom or my son's only mom um i was trying to identify where are the origins of my lustful spirit coming from like when did i start to feel like looking at not necessarily every woman like an object for sex but like when did that start happening and i'm still trying to uncover that because i feel like if i get that answer then it will unlock all these questions

Well, I think a lot of it, too, is you went from a very committed relationship to all of a sudden we're no longer together, and you're like, okay, it's like a bachelor all over again. So you kind of had some fun for a while, but now you're kind of regrouping, going, I don't know if that's what I want. You want to find the one.

10 years with the Bulls and the Timberwolves. So, I mean, not that I'm the biggest sports fan, but why did they fire this guy?

They didn't win. I'm telling you.

I don't think the Knicks should have beat the Pistons. I think the Pistons could have beat those guys. Definitely Boston Celtics were hurt. They beat the Boston Celtics. I think the guy was not a great coach. I don't understand why, like, Stephen A. Smith is all upset about this whole thing. And everybody during the last, what was it, the Eastern Conference finals that were going on, everybody was saying that they think Thibodeau is doing a horrible job coaching. He only played like seven players the entire game.

Yeah. A lot of frustration comes because this has been a consistent theme recently in the NBA of winning coaches being relieved of their duties. There have been coaches that have won championships and in two years removed from that are getting fired. The Knicks did something this season that they haven't done in 25 years, which is make an Eastern Conference Finals, which brings the uproar. But I think to Mojo's point, a lot of people didn't see Thibodeau being the coach next season before the playoffs. So they wanted to fire him before they made this quote-unquote playoff run, which again, the Mojo's point only happened because you had all of these factors and injuries.

I think the more shocking coach that got fired was that Denver coach.

He's the frontrunner in some minds to be the new next coach.

That guy was a great coach. He won a championship.

Apparently the friendship is over for Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, Blake Lively getting ghosted by Taylor at the moment. And this all stems from Blake's legal battle with Justin Baldoni over the movie It Ends With Us, during which Taylor was subpoenaed as a witness. Now, that subpoena was later withdrawn, but Taylor just had big feelings about being betrayed. She felt like she was being exploited by her former friend and being dragged into this high profile case. And so I'm told that Blake has made numerous attempts to reconcile the situation and her friendship with Taylor. Text messages, voicemails, emails, and Taylor is just silence on the other end. The Diddy trial, we found out yesterday that he tried very hard to keep the infamous video footage of him abusing Cassie in that L.A. hotel hallway from going public yesterday. Yesterday, a security officer from the Intercontinental Hotel took the stand.

Eddie Garcia testified he saw Combs with a brown paper bag, then putting stacks of $10,000 at a time through a money counter. Garcia recalled Combs asking if he wanted to count the bills. I said I trusted the machine. Garcia taking the cash and telling Combs he had handed over the only copy. He also told the jury he was made to sign a nondisclosure agreement. Garcia said he first saw the video after arriving for a shift at the hotel. I was told there was a domestic dispute. He said Combs' personal assistant, Christina Coram, kept calling, trying to get the tape, eventually putting Combs on the phone. He stated that I sounded like a good guy, that I sounded like I wanted to help, that something like this could ruin him. Garcia said Combs promised he would take care of me. When arrangements were made and Garcia arrived with a thumb drive containing the video, he said Combs greeted him, Eddie, my angel.

Also yesterday, outside of the courtroom, an escort by the name of Sean Deering breaking his silence after prosecutors showed his photo during the trial the week before last when they were showing Cassie photos and the jury photos of all of some of the different escorts that participated in the freak offs. He had an emotional message for Cassie and also gave some details about what those freak offs looked like and his interaction in particular with her.

I didn't see any physical beating or anything of that nature, but, you know, there are times where I'd be in a separate room for one to two hours where they'd be talking in the other room, business and things, and you could tell the energy elevated and such, but I'm not one to go stick my ear to the door. it's it's that's their personal business whatever it was uh but there other were other times at the experience when diddy would leave leave the area and i just would um you know begin to just say you know just talk to her cordially we're next to each other and it was a moment of we can't do anything without him here it was just it was uh you know a freeze up and it was one where i could see she's a human she wanted to speak but there is she was also one who respected i could see she understood her role i i guess in a sense as i did you know i was one i was there hired there for a purpose um and i was there to serve my purpose and i think that i wouldn't say she was controlled by necessarily fear but rather respect and you know that some of the choices that she made led to this

But we talk about Tinder all the time, and I know we've got second date updates here on the show where everybody seems to meet on Tinder. Tinder is testing a new thing for the people that pay for Tinder. Do we have any people that pay for Tinder listening to this show? I'm not doing that.

One of the things that it gets you for sure, so I don't pay for Tinder. So I can like people, but I can't see who's liked me unless we liked each other. So if you pay for Tinder, you can just see people who like you, which gives you better opportunity to hook up.

They're also testing this filter now where they're filtering through different things like questions about you and who you are to make sure that your pictures don't, you know, kind of throw people off. Because a lot of times people will put a picture up there and it's not that person. one of the big ones that they're doing right now is tinder is testing a feature that will weed out and filter out all the short guys for girls what you mean so if you'll put you'll put in there your height and if you're somebody that chooses that you want a man that's at least of a certain height. it will weed out all those guys so that those guys aren't on there.

Everybody's just going to lie once they figure out that this is a thing. That's true.

That's probably how they're doing the height. Only serve me people that's 6 feet to 7 feet.

Let me ask the listeners, what is the shortest you'll date? Like, what is the absolute shortest that you will go for as far as a date is concerned? Because I find it interesting that they said that this was the number one thing that people said was their complaint that they had was that they would go out with a guy, see his picture, talk to him on the phone, go and meet him, and the guy being short was something that they thought was a turnoff. What is short?

Like, what are y'all considering short? How the girls have always told me, how they gauge guys, they don't necessarily do it by, okay, you got to be 5'11", you got to be whatever case is. They need him to be taller than them when they wear high heels.

this particular store you know those stores that you go into half the time you can't find anybody to help you but this was like the opposite where I think every salesperson in that store like just swarmed me and I wasn't even really looking for anything in particular and it was like anytime I locked eyes with somebody they came up to me and they were like oh what are you shopping for are you going on a trip what size are you let me show you what we got in and it was to the point where I was like, I finally just left because I was so irritated that I couldn't even just shop in peace without somebody asking me, let me show you what we just got in today.

What, you know, what, what kind of, what kind of a store is it?

It's a female, a women's clothing store.

And the people are, do you think that they're just being ultra friendly or do you think that they're pushing trying to sell you something?

No, I think they want commission. And to be honest with you, I don't even know if you get commission at this store, but it sure felt that way because it was nonstop. Yeah. Do you, uh, like when people walk up to you and

at anything could be anywhere car dealerships, you know, kind of reminds me of are this all way all the time, but now I feel like mall stores turn into car dealerships and they walk up to you and say, um, can I help you with anything? Like, do you like that? I like that because if I need help

with something i will 1 million percent find you because i know that you will get the the commission or the whatever the bonus for selling me something and in this case there was one girl who was actually helping me i had asked for a different size than something and she was like oh i'll start to a fitting room and then it but it i at least 10 other people came up and asked to which is really helpful but there does come a point where you start to feel attacked yeah did you work in anybody work in retail i did but i stayed behind a the checkout you're the person checking because

i wonder what they tell you to do because like for me if i'm walking in there i at least want people to be visible and in the area and when i walk in hey i'm here just in case you need something like let me know you're there and available but i'm a grown-up what do you want them what do you want them to say to you the moment they see you hey if you need anything i'm here my name is kev Yeah, yeah.

You know what this reminded me of? And I can say this now because they're no longer in business. And I loved their stuff. But when you walked into an art van, you kind of felt this way.

Like everybody came at you from every single angle. And you were like, okay, we're looking for a couch. If I need something, I will find you. Just let me take a deep breath and back away from me.

You know what the visual is for me? The visual of the art van was the person that came with a, you know, those books that they have like legal pads inside of them, but it's like a leather bound book. And it's like they would have their leather bound book in their hand that wasn't necessarily a clipboard. It was like a fancy clipboard. And they would, hey, how you doing? What's going on? And then they had their business cards and they would always give you their business cards. Like, I would walk through an art van, which the furniture store, you know, was obviously, you know, trying to sell you as much furniture as they can, like, can do it. I would walk out with 12 business cards. I'd be like, I got, like, 12 people that walked up to me during the whole thing.

But that turns me off. It turns me off.

And they all used to be sitting on the couches, right, when you first walk into the store.

Like, you couldn't even walk past the ottoman. Do you like it when you check out at the store and they'll ask you who you worked with? Like, they'll say, well, who helped you today? and I'll be like the girl with the black hair

yeah i used to work at menards and it was actually a requirement for us to walk up to every customer make contact ask them how they're doing what what project we can help them with and uh i mean you'd be surprised a lot of people get real annoyed with that you know hey i know what i'm doing

let me let me shop kind of thing so uh can i tell you something though menards has so much crap in it like they literally you're the only place i know that you can go to and buy home improvement

stuff to buying candy and they're you know he's playing the piano very beautifully it's craziness

in the middle of the store absolutely yeah unfortunately the location i worked at i didn't have the piano but um but yeah no it's one of those things you know where people come in and yeah i mean you go into menards and you think you know right where to go look for something and

Well, and behold, it's on the other side of the store.

My favorite thing at a store, though, is when somebody walks up to you and they do this at Menards more so than they do it at Lowe's or Home Depot. And you say, hey, I'm looking for Christmas decorations. And they don't say aisle seven or point to it. Yeah. They walk you to it.
