He started being the mayor when Detroit went through bankruptcy and now is leaving that and going to run for the governor of the state of Michigan. and uh he's he'll be done as mayor as of the first of the year i believe um and then there's like an election going on right now uh which by the way i think the early voting for the election for the city of detroit starts i think it's tomorrow if i'm not mistaken i know it's this week they're going to narrow it down in a primary to get down to two candidates because right now they've got 890 candidates for a mayor they got like it seems like there seems like everybody wants to run for that office but uh but it was cool uh in the last time that i i saw mayor mike duggan was uh when we had the draft in town because i i do everything i can to stay away from politicians i'm not a big uh hang out with politicians type of a person although i really enjoy this guy i enjoy him because i you know used to do stuff with him all the time when he was running the dmc the detroit medical centers he was the uh the ceo of dmc hospital the children's hospital he kind of rebuilt that whole thing but uh long story short it was pretty wild he has like a security detail that uh that comes in first and then scopes out the joint kind of make sure everything's okay and uh you know make sure that you are who you are and then uh he shows up and it's it's weird because he shows up and he doesn't have, like, it's not like how Kwame used to be, the old mayor of Detroit, the one that got himself into a little bit of trouble. Kwame had a driver and about 8,000 security people. He's got, like, two or three security people that come before him. And then he drives himself, which is, to me, wild. Because if one thing I was going to do if I was a big politician, I'd have somebody drive me. I wouldn't drive. I don't want to, I don't want to, first of all, I don't want to have to park. You know what the worst thing in the world is? It's trying to find a parking spot. But this was actually kind of interesting. So it was Shannon, Lydia, myself, and then our boss, Colleen, was there.
