00:02:15 - 00:02:55 | Unknown:

Showtime. We'll be right back.

00:02:55 - 00:03:36 | Speaker 5:

Good morning and welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. It's nice to be back from vacation. I mean, we did have a lot of time off. I mean, the way that things worked out with the holiday falling on a Sunday and being able to get like that extra day yesterday was like awesome. But I'm not going to lie, I actually kind of was ready to come back to work yesterday. I don't know what the story is with me. I get a little, I don't know, FOMO, missing out our listeners and seeing what you guys are up to.

00:03:37 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 1:

The Sunday scaries or the Monday scaries were not normally as bad as normal at the end of a vacation yesterday. I will admit that. Yeah, I was kind of ready to come back too. I mean, I always love a good vacation, but sometimes it's good to get back into a routine.

00:03:52 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 5:

See, it's funny because I felt like really eager to come back to work on Sunday night. But then I was like, okay, I got an extra day. It's going to be nice to sleep in. And then yesterday, I kind of all day was, you know, kind of putting Chelsea off for like doing like last minute family stuff. I'm like, no, I got to prep. I got to prep. I got stuff to do. I got stuff to do. And so I kind of like was slowly prepping as the day went on. And then last night, I'm prepping and I'm watching Monday Night Football and that horrible incident takes place, which, by the way, we'll talk about that right now and then we'll talk about it, I know, every hour this morning. Buffalo Bill Safety, DeMar Hamlin, collapsed on the field. It's now reported this morning that he was administered CPR because his heart stopped after a horrible hit that took place. He is in the hospital. He's still in critical condition, but they say that he's better.

00:04:57 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 1:

I do have an update, and I'll do it in the dirty, but I do have an update. just came through from his agent as well. Very detailed update on his condition.

00:05:03 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 2:

So you talked about wanting to come back to work, but let me ask the whole crew here. What's the latest you slept? Because we try to still get up early. Our body still wakes us up early on our own, even when we try to sleep in. But this is the one time of the entire year because we have 10 days off where we can sleep. Did any of you actually, well, okay, Megan's giggling because she...

00:05:24 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 3:

Don't ask me how many Red Bulls I've had this morning or how late I was up last night because it took me all of two days before I was up until 4 o'clock in the morning before I'm falling asleep, getting up around noon, 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Oh, my God. When I tell you that I am a night owl and I have no idea how I wake up for the show every morning, whoo-hoo, did I feel the realities of my life choices this morning?

00:05:47 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 5:

So what did you do as far as, like, what was your latest that you stayed up? Like, are you like my son and plays video games until 4 in the morning?

00:05:55 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 3:

Well, I went out one night and I got a little toasty. If you follow me on Instagram, You probably saw that interesting night play out. That's why I don't drink. If you're wondering why I don't drink, that Instagram story really was the pinnacle as to why I make poor life decisions. But I will say, night two of vacation, Ellen and I were up until like 2 o'clock in the morning talking. And I immediately was like, and we're off schedule. And we're going to be off schedule for two weeks.

00:06:22 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 2:

I was so excited because at one point I actually slept until 9 or 9.30 a.m. I was like, whoo, like it's almost 10 o'clock and I'm still in bed.

00:06:30 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 5:

I like how you said, had to say AM.

00:06:32 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 2:

AM. For Megan's clarity.

00:06:35 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 1:

I did that a few days too. And if I sleep till 930, I feel like half my day's gone. Because normally, normally we're almost done with the show.

00:06:42 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 4:

I slept in the first week because you a-holes got me sick. All of you. Oh, man. I saw that Shannon was sick. I actually wanted to talk about that. But Mike, so what happened? Well, I dodged all December. I dodged getting sick. Everybody on the show got sick, and everybody took some time off and whatever. And then that following Monday, we took the 16th or 17th off. That following Monday, I just woke up, and I went, oh, no. You know that tickle in the back of your throat? And I'm like, oh, no, I have something. Tuesday hits, and I'm just down. I went all the way through Christmas just sick. And I have no idea what it is. I didn't throw up or anything like that, but I had a cold. I was sweating. I slept and watched Harry Potter for an entire week straight. That was it. And I was so sick.

00:07:25 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 1:

Hell yeah, that's literally just my vacation, baby. See, at this point, I'm like, good. Everybody's got it then. You all felt our pain.

00:07:35 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 5:

What was yours, Janet? Because you got sick before break. I got so sick, yes. And then during break, you got sick.

00:07:42 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 1:

I had, so I went to like a dinner with a bunch of my girlfriends the day after Christmas and eight out of the nine of us who were there that night got whatever this was. And the worst part was the next morning after that dinner was when I was traveling to Canada to see Wes's family, who he only gets to see like once or twice a year. So it's a really, really big deal, you know, for him to go and for me to go. And his kids came with us. And we were supposed to stay three days. So the very first day that we were there, we're at his sister Angie's house. And I can tell, like, something's up with my stomach. Now, mind you, I had eaten a whole bunch of junk that she had out on her kitchen counter. I had had you know a glass and a half of wine at that point we start to do this white elephant game and I'm like oh no like I can tell that something is very very off so I tell Wes I need to go to the to the bathroom and pee which was a complete lie I didn't even make it to the bathroom I barfed everywhere you guys all over his sister's floor up the walls down the vent on the pictures hanging on her bathroom wall.

00:08:47 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 2:

Now that's a white elephant gift. Surprise!

00:08:50 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 1:

And here's the worst part. So I had been drinking red wine, and she had a bowl of jelly beans out, and I only like black jelly beans. I know I'm a serial killer. So my vomit was black. It was so disgusting, and I thought I could I was panicking. I thought I could clean it up myself. That didn't happen. I had to call in Wes for some help. So he, you know, we cleaned the bathroom, bleached the bathroom. I find myself wearing his sister's clothing, which is like really awesome and awkward at the same time. And then 10 minutes later, the whole thing happened again. And so that was just, that was all night long. I threw up in the car, out the car door, all the way to the hotel. And so we woke up the next morning and we were supposed to go see more of his family that we had not seen yet. And I felt so bad because nobody wanted a sick, barfy person around. So rather than just sit in the hotel for the next two days in Canada, we ended up coming back to the States and he didn't get to see the rest of his family. And I felt so incredibly bad, but there was like nothing that I could do.

00:09:51 - 00:09:54 | Speaker 5:

This guy is, by the way, I was going to say an American hero. He is an American hero.

00:09:54 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

If you saw how much bark there was, he had like rubber gloves on.

00:10:00 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 4:

No offense, this early in your relationship, I would have left you in the hotel and gone and visited my family that I hadn't seen for a year.

00:10:08 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 1:

That's what the plan was. But then even his sister was like, you've been around her all night. Like you, everybody, and now he has it.

00:10:16 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 4:

Remember the days when nobody cared about that?

00:10:18 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 1:

I know, I know. Now he has it, so he started barfing on New Year's.

00:10:22 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 4:

Wow.

00:10:22 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 1:

So he's down and out for the count, but it was just nasty.

00:10:26 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 4:

Wait, so, okay, so you then drove, you drove four hours home.

00:10:33 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 1:

Were you puking in the car? I didn't puke on the way home, thank goodness. I slept the entire way. I slept, I mean, I never woke up the entire way.

00:10:40 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 4:

I can only imagine what, like, the Canadian police, what do they call them, Mounties? What the guys that wear the funny outfits, what they would have thought if all of a sudden they saw this woman holding her head out the window throwing up.

00:10:53 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 1:

Well, he kept telling me to because he had to wake me up to go through customs, obviously, you know, with my passport and everything. And he's like, please, please, please try to keep it in. Try to keep it in. Don't want you vomiting through, you know, customs because they would probably pull you over at that point.

00:11:05 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 4:

Well, and who knows with, you know, like the way that things are. I know that they don't have like restrictions for COVID or anything like anymore. But could you imagine them saying, I'm sorry, you have to quarantine.

00:11:15 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, turn around. I know.

00:11:17 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 1:

I love Canada, but I just wanted my bed at that point.

00:11:20 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 2:

When I felt horrible for Mike being sick through the holidays, and then I realized it extends when you're traveling to see people, then it ruins your holidays because you don't get to see those people. I only see my parents twice a year. I got to Philly at Christmas to see my parents, and then two days later, they both got COVID. So it was like, well, it was nice seeing you. Bye. I was supposed to be a week-long vacation. I really literally spent less than two days with them. I was sleeping in their house.

00:11:49 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 4:

Weren't they sick last year, too?

00:11:50 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, so they also had COVID last Christmas, and then when we went home last summer, in between, my sister's whole family had COVID, so I couldn't stay around them. It's like, they just really don't want to see me at Christmas, I think. Yeah, I do think that's just an excuse. If I didn't administer the damn nasal swab myself, because my dad doesn't like to do it, I wouldn't have believed it.

00:12:12 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 4:

Oh, wow, so you actually had to give your dad the test.

00:12:16 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, he was like refusing. He's like, I don't need to know. I'm fine. And I'm like, dad, mom's had it for, you know, you have it.

00:12:22 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 4:

So how soon after it came back positive, did you race out of that place?

00:12:26 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 2:

We stayed there the whole time, but we just masked up when we were in the house. So we would always wear masks in the house and obviously cleaned a lot more than usual. And luckily it hit like 55 in Philly for those last three days. So I had all the windows open. I'm like, I don't care how cold it is.

00:12:42 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 4:

Wow. Mike, what was your, your sickness again? Did you have the coughing and stuff that I had, or did you have the stomach bug like Shannon had, or what did you have?

00:12:52 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 3:

I was just, I think it was just coughing, and I was sweating a lot. And lankiness and stuff. Yeah, and I checked my temperature every single day because I'd gotten to the point where I was literally just sleeping in the basement. My kids were still going to school, which was kind of nice. So I just like basically slept in the basement For like three days straight And would check my temperature every single day Because I was just It was to that point where I'm like Like everybody's on vacation I want to go see my family I didn't end up going to see anybody

00:13:21 - 00:14:53 | Speaker 4:

I'll be honest with you So for the listeners that don't know this I'm actually doing the show from down in Florida From Joe Jed and Ashley's studio And so I'm here I'm not coming back I am not I'm waiting until every one of you guys because i finally got that cough that we had i finally got rid of that cough like the day or two after christmas i was like noticing chelis i'm not like constantly coughing like i was because that cough stayed with me for at least a couple of weeks after jingle ball but um well happy new year to all of you happy new year to uh to our primary care physicians dr warner i have to tell you the funniest thing so dr warner um i called him up because i forgot to bring medications with me down to uh to florida and uh have you guys ever done that have you guys ever do you guys first off you guys any of you guys have to take meds and stuff like so so you know i'm on some psychotic meds i'm on some you know blood pressure meds i've got some cholesterol meds you know i got all kinds of meds and so i called him up and so he calls in a prescription to the cvs and then does it for just the amount of days that i'm in town and the the uh lady at the one that i went to in florida goes oh yeah we get this all the time from you guys and i go you guys wait a second that's racist don't call me you guys and uh she goes no no she goes no from all the people all the uh midwesterners and easterners and all the people that travel down to invade their uh their

00:14:53 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 2:

city to uh to go down yeah he's he's my hero too dr werner was taking care of my daughter was sick the date you know christmas eve

00:15:00 - 00:15:04 | Speaker 7:

And we're all about to get on a flight, and I'm the same thing. Like, I need to get this medicine before we leave.

00:15:04 - 00:15:33 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, he's the best. God, I love that guy. And I got to be honest with you, I'm always amazed at how quick he – because he does it not just for us, but – and we've talked about this. Everybody. He does it for everybody. Yeah. Yeah. He's an American hero. So our call screen thing that I normally use or that I would use to see you guys for some reason, And iHeart just asked me to re-log in with my password the 12th time. So who's on the phone lines there?

00:15:33 - 00:15:36 | Speaker 7:

We got Jamie, who missed us. Jamie.

00:15:36 - 00:15:38 | Speaker 2:

Hey, how you doing?

00:15:38 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 4:

Holy cow. How you doing, Jamie? What's going on?

00:15:42 - 00:15:45 | Speaker 2:

I'm doing good. I'm waiting to pick up an Uber right now.

00:15:45 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 4:

Oh, are you? Wait, are you an Uber? Are you an Uber driver? Or are you a person that's about to be a passenger in an Uber?

00:15:53 - 00:15:57 | Speaker 2:

No, I'm an Uber driver. I drive here in Grand Rapids.

00:15:58 - 00:16:01 | Speaker 4:

Oh, nice. Okay, so where is this person going that you're going to pick up?

00:16:02 - 00:16:06 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. I've got to wait until they get in the car and they say, hey, drop me on.

00:16:07 - 00:16:14 | Speaker 4:

Wait, they don't have to tell you the ride ahead of time? Every time I've ever taken an Uber, I've always had to say, this is my destination.

00:16:15 - 00:16:27 | Speaker 2:

No, no. They get in. I just confirm their name, and I just say, hey, it's going to take about 7 to 12 minutes to get here. Let me know if you need a little bit of heat. You need the window down. We'll get you all taken care of.

00:16:27 - 00:16:33 | Speaker 4:

That's amazing. That sounds sketchy, by the way, if they don't have a destination already preplanned. It sounds like they're doing a drug deal this early in the morning.

00:16:34 - 00:16:39 | Speaker 2:

Well, it has a destination, but I'm not able to see it right now until the person gets into the vehicle.

00:16:39 - 00:16:41 | Speaker 4:

Oh, I didn't know that that's how that works.

00:16:41 - 00:16:49 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I didn't know that. Yeah, it gives you a mileage from one destination to another destination if I want to be able to pick it up.

00:16:49 - 00:16:59 | Speaker 7:

I think they started doing that. If I'm not mistaken, they changed that last year because they didn't want drivers to pick and choose based on which neighborhoods they were going to and discriminate.

00:16:59 - 00:17:08 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Well, honestly, it still sounds sketchy, but Happy New Year to you. Did you have a good Christmas and a good New Year's?

00:17:10 - 00:17:21 | Speaker 2:

I had a really good New Year's. I made sure everybody got to their destination. I work at 6 p.m. until about 4.30 in the morning, making sure everybody got to their destination.

00:17:22 - 00:17:24 | Speaker 4:

To make good money on New Year's?

00:17:27 - 00:17:28 | Speaker 2:

Sure, sure.

00:17:29 - 00:17:35 | Speaker 4:

Oh, no. By the way, does your life consist of only Ubering? Did you do anything else besides that?

00:17:36 - 00:17:46 | Speaker 2:

Well, before this, hey, how you doing? How you doing? It says that it is going to take us About 10 minutes To get to your destination I'm on the phone with

00:17:46 - 00:17:54 | Speaker 7:

We were just going to tell you Make sure you tell every passenger That Mojo in the morning is back live Because we need to make sure everybody knows

00:17:54 - 00:17:56 | Speaker 4:

Tell them who you're on the phone with

00:17:56 - 00:18:04 | Speaker 2:

I was so excited that you guys were back On in the morning I was like oh yes I wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning

00:18:04 - 00:18:18 | Speaker 4:

To get on the road This guy is getting in the car he's going. Just a quiet ride to the airport. Could you imagine? Joey Tribbiani from Friends. Yo, how you doing? What would you do if you got in the car and this lady was doing this?

00:18:18 - 00:18:19 | Speaker 7:

I love Jamie.

00:18:20 - 00:18:23 | Speaker 4:

Listen, you take care. You have a great day, okay?

00:18:24 - 00:18:29 | Speaker 2:

Yes, thank you and keep up the good work. I appreciate all that you do. You guys keep me going in the

00:18:44 - 00:18:51 | Speaker 5:

It's Mojo in the mornings back in the day. We have to go back in 10s. Where we give you a bunch of events, and you tell us what year it happened.

00:18:52 - 00:18:55 | Speaker 4:

It was the year that Dua Lipa was the best new artist of the year.

00:18:55 - 00:19:01 | Speaker 1:

No matter where you're from or your background or what you believe in, never let that get in the way of you and your dreams.

00:19:01 - 00:19:08 | Speaker 4:

It was also the year when Amazon's Jeff Bezos and Mackenzie Bezos agreed to a record-breaking divorce.

00:19:08 - 00:19:20 | Speaker 3:

When all the T's are crossed and I's are dotted on the divorce agreement, Mackenzie Bezos would get a 4% stake in Amazon, worth more than $35.8 billion. Wow, and big song.

00:19:22 - 00:19:28 | Speaker 4:

Ed Sheeran and Justin Beavers, I don't care. What year was it? We'll set you up with the prize. Good luck.

00:19:28 - 00:19:36 | Speaker 6:

What year did these things happen? Call us at 844-MOJO-LIVE to tell us. 844-665-6548.

00:19:40 - 00:19:48 | Speaker 5:

How smart are you? It's Mojo in the mornings back in the day. We have to go back in 10s. Where we give you a bunch of events and you tell us what year it happened.

00:19:48 - 00:19:51 | Speaker 4:

It was the year that Dua Lipa won Best New Artist.

00:19:51 - 00:19:58 | Speaker 1:

Just know that no matter where you're from or your background or what you believe in, Never let that get in the way of you and your dreams.

00:19:59 - 00:20:06 | Speaker 4:

Jeff Base. Bezos and his wife went through a divorce, and yep, she became one of the richest people in America in this year.

00:20:06 - 00:20:15 | Speaker 3:

When all the T's are crossed and I's are dotted on the divorce agreement, Mackenzie Bezos would get a 4% stake in Amazon, worth more than $35.8 billion.

00:20:15 - 00:21:43 | Speaker 4:

And I loved this song. I don't care what year was it, we'll set you up with the prize. Let's go to Emily. Hi, Emily, how you doing? Hey, Mojo, how are you? You know what? I'm doing great, Emily. How's everything going? How's your New Year's started off? Doing good, too. Glad that you guys are back. It was 2019. There you go. Congratulations. What was it that gave it away? Jua Lipa. Yay, yay, yay. Yay, yay. Yay, yay. Yay, yay. We're going to set you up with the prize. We have tickets. Let's see here. Oh, we got tickets for you to go to WWE SmackDown. Honestly, it's actually good entertainment. I will tell you this. I went a couple years back, and I actually got so into it that I, for some reason, went home and started throwing chairs around. It was just fun. Hang on the phone for just one second, okay? Thank you. We'll get you set up. We're giving away Taylor Swift tickets. Right now, your opportunity to win. Listen from now until the concerts in June. Text Taylor to 95500 and you'll have a chance to win. That's Taylor, T-A-Y-L-O-R to 95500. Standard text and data rates do apply. You can win Taylor Swift tickets from Mojo in the Morning.

00:21:43 - 00:21:46 | Speaker 3:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

00:21:46 - 00:22:00 | Speaker 4:

All right. Biggest news of the morning. Last night, Monday Night Football had to be canceled. They had to stop the game, and for good reason. Shannon, with all the details this morning on that.

00:22:00 - 00:22:29 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's what everybody's talking about this morning, whether you're a football fan or not. Buffalo Bills safety, Damar Hamlin, collapsing on the field. He was administered CPR before being driven away in an ambulance during last night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The injury happened when Hamlin collided with Bengals receiver T. Higgins after a completion. Got up on his feet, started adjusting his face mask with his right hand, and then just fell backward a couple of seconds later and was motionless.

00:22:31 - 00:22:44 | Speaker 3:

That's not what any of us want to see, and everybody's around him, and just hope that he's going to be okay. So we'll take another break here in Cincinnati.

00:22:44 - 00:23:22 | Speaker 1:

The game was suspended for the night, and when Hamlin was taken off the field 16 minutes after he collapsed. That's how long he laid there. The Bills gathered in prayer. He was driven to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and the NFL later announcing that Hamlin is listed in critical condition. He did indeed suffer cardiac arrest. His agent, Jordan Rooney, issued a statement at about 10.30 last night saying his vitals are back to normal. They have put him to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat. they are currently running tests we will provide updates as we have them espn's ryan clark with

00:23:22 - 00:23:51 | Speaker 2:

some comments and so many times in this game and in our job as well we use the cliches you know i'm ready to die for this i'm willing to give my life for this it's time to go to war and i think sometimes we use those things so much we forget that part of living this dream is putting your life at risk and tonight you know we got to see a side of football that is extremely ugly wow I

00:23:51 - 00:24:53 | Speaker 4:

you know watched non-stop last night I couldn't go to bed after this because I was so worried you know about how he was going to be and woke up this morning had ESPN still on my television and I was you know not hearing any updates because they were replaying obviously that what happened last night And the one thing that I took away from all this is I'm so glad my kids never played this sport. I love football. I love watching it. And I know that fans and I love the hitting that goes on. But it is such a violent sport. And to see that, and I was so happy to see that RG3, Robert Griffin III, came out and said, stop sharing because people kept sharing on Twitter and social media. that the video of him collapsing you know he said stop sharing this and start sharing the prayer that the teams were doing but um to see that was just brutal and yeah and I think a lot of times

00:24:53 - 00:25:00 | Speaker 1:

when we see these injuries in football you see like really horrific injuries and I think it was this sounds weird

00:25:00 - 00:25:12 | Speaker 3:

but almost a good thing to see, like, this hit because a lot of people said it didn't look that bad to show how much force these guys are using against each other on a constant basis. And we're going, oh, it's not that bad. It's not that bad. No, it is that bad.

00:25:13 - 00:25:39 | Speaker 6:

I've never seen anything like it where the entire, both sides of the teams go on the field. There were people breaking down. They saw things that we didn't even see on TV. And then the reaction from the NFL initially kind of scared me a little too because they were going to play five minutes later. And there was a bunch of locker room talk and coaches and players. And I don't know who made the ultimate decision, but it looked like they were going to play again after watching them use a defibrillator on a play.

00:25:39 - 00:25:41 | Speaker 2:

I mean, they went and got his mom from the stands.

00:25:41 - 00:25:51 | Speaker 7:

I think, Mike, I think it was the coach from Buffalo and the coach from Cincinnati that basically told the league, our players can't play.

00:25:52 - 00:25:56 | Speaker 1:

How do you play after seeing your teammates? And that shakes you up for weeks.

00:25:56 - 00:26:11 | Speaker 7:

And there's a difference, I think, between a player that, you know, hurts in knees or a player that might even get a concussion to a player that had to have CPR performed on him because his heart stopped on the field. And listen. Yeah.

00:26:12 - 00:26:12 | Speaker 3:

Sorry.

00:26:12 - 00:26:13 | Speaker 7:

Commissioner Goodell, yeah.

00:26:14 - 00:26:28 | Speaker 3:

He was way more interested in getting the commercials played for the rest of the day. Did you see how many commercial breaks they took before they finally did anything about it? So they were way more interested about making their money. And I think he's more interested about the Super Bowl than what this team is going through right now.

00:26:28 - 00:27:14 | Speaker 7:

That's the thing, because this game meant a lot for who's going to finish first place in the AFC. I will say this, and then I'll let Shannon get to more of the other dirty. They have gone back and played the game. Matter of fact, this morning I was looking at a piece of history. There has been only one player that has ever died in the middle of a game, and actually it was a Detroit Lions player. It was a Detroit Lions wide receiver, Chuck Hughes, back in 1971. They played the game. They continued to play the game. And they say that the fans were speechless and were sitting in the stands, you know, emotionless for the rest of the game. And it was a poor decision to be made by them to continue to play. You would think that they would learn from their history, bud.

00:27:14 - 00:28:33 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my goodness. Okay, well, in Other Dirty this morning, Avengers star Jeremy Renner also in the hospital this morning after suffering blunt chest trauma following a New Year's Day snow plowing accident. Did you guys hear about this? He was using a plowing machine called a snowcat and he accidentally ran over one of his legs, causing him to lose a lot of blood. Now, thank God, his neighbor just so happens to be a doctor and he is being credited for quickly rushing to Jeremy's side, potentially saving his life, putting a tourniquet on his leg to help stop the bleeding until first responders at a helicopter arrived to airlift Jeremy to the hospital. I do know he had surgery yesterday. He remains in the ICU in critical but stable condition. Emily Ratajkowski and Pete Davidson are over. I'm told their relationship moved into the friend zone. Both are fine with it and in the wake of that, both have already been spotted on dates with other people. And over break, you might have missed Nick Cannon welcoming his 12th baby, his second with Alyssa Scott. They had a daughter named Halo Marie. She He arrived almost exactly one year after the death of the couple's son, Zen, who passed away at just five months old from brain cancer. So Nick is now a daddy to five daughters and seven sons. A lot of kids. For all of today's Dirty, check out that Dirty page on mojointhemorning.com.

Hi, you reached Animal Control. If you'd like to speak to an operator directly.

00:30:00 - 00:30:02 | Speaker 4:

Hello, control. This is Jeremy. How can I help you?

00:30:02 - 00:30:20 | Speaker 2:

Yes, Jeremy! Can you listen to my complaints? And if so, will you be back out? And if so, can I get your promises to remove the critters? Uh, what's the issue? I hear the scratching noise in the attic. It's scratchity-scratch, scratchity-scratching. Guess who's back? Rocky Raccoon. Knock, knock. Who's there? The rabid pesty? Come back and eat my children.

00:30:20 - 00:30:24 | Speaker 4:

Okay, you have a raccoon that you need to get rid of?

00:30:24 - 00:30:42 | Speaker 2:

You already did the removings. Bobbity was here. Bobbity's standing in my garage, Tell me he'd be removing the animals from the homes, not 10 years, not 20 years. 30 years, he say, he'd be removing the animals. So why is a raccoon back in my attic? My children cannot sleep at night. They hear the scratch, scratch, scratch in the attic.

00:30:43 - 00:30:45 | Speaker 4:

Do you have raccoons in your attic?

00:30:45 - 00:30:49 | Speaker 2:

They're in my attic, he say. He'd take them on the way, but they're coming back.

00:30:50 - 00:31:00 | Speaker 4:

Okay, we may have relocated the animals because there could be more than one. Sometimes there's a family. So if you want to actually just give me your number or address.

00:31:00 - 00:31:14 | Speaker 2:

I'll give you my address because he talk all about the animals. He talk about the skunks. He talk about the moles. He talk about the squirrels. He talk about the bats. He talk about the coyotes. He say they get rid of them. They come back, and now they scratch and scratch in my attic, and he scared my children.

00:31:15 - 00:31:21 | Speaker 4:

Someone came out and looked at it already? I tell you, Bobby come out. Oh, Bob.

00:31:22 - 00:31:22 | Speaker 2:

Yes.

00:31:23 - 00:31:34 | Speaker 4:

Did he explain that sometimes when we set the traps up, It can be more than one in the same spot, so even if we have, you know, found one, you know, there still could be more up there. Did he explain that?

00:31:35 - 00:31:43 | Speaker 2:

Now you tell me you want to keep coming back and taking my money because there's so many animals, and now they're all over the place. He didn't tell me that. He should have put out more traps than just one.

00:31:43 - 00:31:51 | Speaker 4:

If we come back out, we're not going to charge you. If there's still some out there, I do need your address and your number so I can have Bob call you back.

00:31:51 - 00:32:00 | Speaker 2:

I don't want to talk about the Bobbity because of the Bubbies. um the what the bubbies your bubbity put the ladder to the window of my wife and he peeking

00:32:00 - 00:32:06 | Speaker 4:

00:32:06 - 00:32:10 | Speaker 2:

00:32:28 - 00:32:38 | Speaker 4:

The owner's number is actually the same as this except the last four, 2486. Give me the whole number. Okay, it's 822-2486.

00:32:39 - 00:32:41 | Speaker 2:

822-2866?

00:32:42 - 00:32:44 | Speaker 4:

No, sir, 2486.

00:32:45 - 00:32:47 | Speaker 2:

2446, okay. I'd call him.

00:32:47 - 00:32:49 | Speaker 4:

It's 2486.

00:32:49 - 00:32:51 | Speaker 2:

4286, that's what I'd say.

00:32:51 - 00:32:56 | Speaker 4:

No, you didn't say that. It's actually, it's 8-5-2-2-4.

00:32:56 - 00:33:07 | Speaker 2:

8-4-2-6. Say again. Say again. 8, 5, 2, 2, 4, 2.

00:33:07 - 00:33:09 | Speaker 4:

Okay, did you have the first three?

00:33:09 - 00:33:13 | Speaker 2:

I had the number you gave. I called this number. I called the number back later, and I called your boss.

00:33:13 - 00:33:17 | Speaker 4:

I called him. Yes, sir, it's the same number except for the last four digits.

00:33:17 - 00:33:22 | Speaker 2:

You're making me confused now. I just want to talk to the owner. I want to call him and tell him to eat an a** cheese d**k.

00:33:22 - 00:33:25 | Speaker 4:

Sir, I'm trying to give you the number to call him.

00:33:25 - 00:33:35 | Speaker 2:

Give me the number, and I tell him to be f***ing yourself. Okay. And I tell you this is a Spike, and you'll be the victim of a Mojo in the Morning phone scam.

00:33:36 - 00:33:40 | Speaker 3:

Hey, it's Spike from Mojo in the Morning. It is a phone scam.

00:33:41 - 00:33:44 | Speaker 4:

Thank God. Jesus.

00:33:45 - 00:33:46 | Speaker 3:

Dude, that was weird.

00:33:49 - 00:34:04 | Speaker 1:

We will, we will scam you. If I could say anything I wanted to, I'd say that was f***ing funny s*** right there. I don't care who you are. It's the home of the world-famous phone scams, Mojo in the Morning.

00:34:05 - 00:34:18 | Speaker 5:

We have a chance for you to get your bills paid. Your opportunity happens this morning. Listen starting after 9 o'clock at 910. Pay Your Bills is back on the Mojo in the Morning show for the new year.

00:34:18 - 00:34:20 | Speaker 1:

It's Mojo in the Morning's 5 at 6.55.

00:34:20 - 00:34:26 | Speaker 2:

5 and 6.55, yo, 5 and 6.55, yo, now.

00:34:27 - 00:34:37 | Speaker 5:

Ethan, it's been so long. I talked to you last year. How you doing? How was your Christmas? How was your New Year's?

00:34:37 - 00:34:39 | Speaker 4:

It was good. How was your guys' name?

00:34:39 - 00:34:49 | Speaker 5:

You know what? It was good. It was nice, as you heard, that we got a little bit more sleep. But it was kind of good. We missed you, though. We missed you, Ethan.

00:34:49 - 00:34:50 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, me too.

00:34:50 - 00:34:59 | Speaker 5:

And I'm hoping that this layoff doesn't cause for any issues in your championship abilities, but Katie wants it to because Katie is our challenger today.

00:35:00 - 00:36:25 | Speaker 1:

hi katie how you doing good how are you fantastic where are you from uh fremont nice to have you nice to have you here listening to us on uh kiss it's good to uh good to be with you uh by the way um we've got some more pop culture for you uh with questions in 2023 and uh we're gonna lock up ethan in a soundproof area so ethan you go away put you on hold for a second here And then KP will talk to you. We'll ask five pop culture trivia questions to you, Katie. Whoever gets the most right wins, Ty always goes to the champion. Question number one. Thanks to his relationship with Kim Kardashian after her very public split with Kanye West, which SNL actor managed to stay in the headlines throughout all of 2022? Pete. Dump it. Dump that. Dump it. Yeah, dump that. It's not Pete's spit, but all right, Pete's shoot. Next question, we'll pass on that one. Maybe we give her a half of a point or something. I don't know. Question number two, the entertainment world mourned the death of Bob Saget with countless tributes from comedians, actors, and co-stars. Saget was known for his role as Danny Tanner on which 90s sitcom?

00:36:27 - 00:36:27 | Speaker 2:

Well, how?

00:36:28 - 00:36:55 | Speaker 1:

Question number three. Buddy, you answered that question like. She's like insulted. I know. How dare you? Question number three. We're reminiscing 2022 with our first five at 655 this year. It was a tough year for this rapper as his anti-Semitic comments resulted in him being dropped from his label, his talent agency, and even losing major companies like Gap and Adidas.

00:36:55 - 00:36:59 | Speaker 2:

You cut out, but I believe it's Kanye West.

00:36:59 - 00:37:20 | Speaker 1:

Question number four, this tech mogul announced that he planned to buy Twitter back in April. He has since purchased the platform where he beefed with Stephen King over his plans to charge $20 for blue check marks.

00:37:21 - 00:37:22 | Speaker 2:

Elon Musk.

00:37:22 - 00:37:43 | Speaker 1:

And question number five, by the way, this would be the only five to 655 I would actually do well on, because these are all just reminiscing last year. Question number five, it was one of the most talked about trials of the decade. Johnny Depp sued which ex-girlfriend for defamation after she accused him of abusing her?

00:37:45 - 00:37:47 | Speaker 2:

Amber Turd or Amber Heard.

00:37:47 - 00:38:00 | Speaker 1:

There you go. Let's bring the champ back from a soundproof area and see how Ethan does. I think question number one is going to hurt you, but I don't know. I think he might get a five out of five. How did she do?

00:38:00 - 00:38:08 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, that one's going to kill her because she got four out of five. And this is the biggest pop culture moment of 2022. See how Ethan does.

00:38:09 - 00:38:29 | Speaker 1:

KP, I kind of like this. This is actually nice. It's reminiscing a little bit. She writes the questions for this. Question number one, Ethan, to see if you can win your six in a row. Thanks to his relationship with Kim Kardashian after a very public split with Kanye West, which SNL actor managed to stay in the headlines throughout all of 2022?

00:38:30 - 00:38:31 | Speaker 3:

Pete Davidson.

00:38:32 - 00:38:48 | Speaker 1:

Scores one to nothing. Question number two. The entertainment world mourned the death of Bob Saget with countless tributes from comedians, actors, and co-stars. Saget was known for his role as Danny Tanner in which 90s sitcom?

00:38:49 - 00:38:50 | Unknown:

Bullhouse.

00:38:50 - 00:39:05 | Speaker 1:

Two to one. Question number three. It was a tough year for this rapper as his anti-Semitic comments resulted in him being dropped from his label, talent agency, and losing major companies like Gap and Adidas.

00:39:06 - 00:39:07 | Speaker 3:

Kanye West. Yes.

00:39:08 - 00:39:39 | Speaker 1:

Three to two. Question number four. This tech mogul announced that he was planning on buying Twitter back in April. He then purchased the platform and got into a beef with Stephen King over his plan to charge people $20 for the blue checkmark. Elon Musk. Yes, 4-3. And question number five. It was one of the most talked about trials of the decade. Johnny Depp sued which ex-girlfriend for defamation for accusing him of abusing her?

00:39:40 - 00:39:42 | Speaker 3:

Amber Heard. You got it.

00:39:42 - 00:39:59 | Speaker 1:

All right. Perfect score, five to four. What a guy. What a guy. What a guy. It's Mojo in the mornings, 5 to 55. No, that was my fault. That was my fault. Katie, who's running our controls, not you, Katie. We had a little snafu.

00:40:00 - 00:40:24 | Speaker 2:

Congratulations to you. You are the winner. That was the recap of 2022, which actually is interesting because I was thinking about this. I think in 2022, all of the people that we just talked about might have been the most talked about for the entire year. Oh, yeah. I mean, gosh, we must have asked like a thousand Elon Musk, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson, Amber Heard questions.

00:40:24 - 00:40:28 | Speaker 1:

We'd be okay if we probably never heard about most of those people again this year.

00:40:28 - 00:40:38 | Speaker 2:

Let's pray. In 2023, please, let's pray Congratulations to you, Ethan You're back for another one We have a parting gift for you, Katie, okay? So we're going to set you up with that right now, okay?

00:40:39 - 00:40:40 | Speaker 3:

Okay, thank you

00:40:40 - 00:40:42 | Speaker 2:

Did you not know that you get a parting gift?

00:40:45 - 00:40:47 | Speaker 3:

I forgot, I guess I don't know Yeah

00:40:47 - 00:40:55 | Speaker 2:

This is kind of nice, isn't it? I mean, we may be the only show in the world That gives people who lose contest prizes It pays to suck

00:40:55 - 00:40:58 | Speaker 3:

I mean, hey, I'll take it I appreciate it

00:40:58 - 00:41:14 | Speaker 2:

You got tickets to see Louie Tomlinson at Michigan Lottery Amphitheater, The Forgotten One. That's actually not the name of the tour, but I just call him The Forgotten One, Megan, because nobody for some reason cares about Louie Tomlinson as much as we do. But hold on one second.

00:41:14 - 00:41:32 | Speaker 3:

It's Mojo in the morning at 5 at 6.55. WKQI Detroit. WSNX Muskegon Grand Rapids. WVKS Toledo. Three great stations. One stupid show. This is Mojo in the Morning Live.

00:41:35 - 00:43:01 | Speaker 2:

Good morning. Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. Nice to be back on Channel 955, 104.5 SNX, and KISS, the most listened to radio stations in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Toledo. It's good to have, like, good stations that we're on. We actually finished off 2022 with some great ratings in all the cities. It's nice. We're actually gearing up for a good 2023, unless a pandemic hits us again. Oh, I can't say that out loud. Because we were geared up for a great 2020. We had our ratings, by the way, right now, if you look at our ratings, and this is actually a fact because I actually was talking to Tony Travato, the whiz kid of the Nielsen ratings. And he was telling me that our position right now in all three of our cities is right now, January, starting January, is virtually what we were 2020 when we were geared up to be the number one. Nice. Yes. And then all of a sudden, COVID happened. And guess what that did to us? I mean, listen, COVID obviously was tragic for what it did for people's health, but it was tragic what it did for our show's economy.

00:43:01 - 00:43:08 | Speaker 1:

Well, thank you to our listeners who, obviously, a lot of habits have shifted in the workplace, but they're still with us, and I love that.

00:43:08 - 00:44:59 | Speaker 2:

I love it. And the interesting thing is we were having this conversation. Tony and I were having this conversation, and don't be feeling like I'm a nerd over a holiday break. But what 2020 did for us was it made people listen to us in different ways. And we obviously, thank God, we work for iHeart and not Cumulus or Odyssey because we had the ability to do it with iHeart's technology of the app and all the podcast abilities that we have. So there are people that listen to us, you know, obviously not, you know, in the early mornings like we like to wake up. There are some people that enjoy the show, maybe with, you know, I don't know, a cocktail late at night or a cup of coffee in the morning, so to speak. But it's wild because you look at how we have kind of transitioned. We've done a good job as a show, and I'm patting ourselves on all of our backs right now, of kind of going with the times where there have been some other shows that have not necessarily done that. And good. I'm glad. Right. Thank you. Makes me feel good. We're not going to tip you off. Who are we thanking? Are we thanking the listeners or are we thanking the other shows for being bad? The other shows for just being doofs. Somebody actually said to me, you know, it's like Ted Lasso. Like, I actually was happy when they, after the first season, they lost their, they got demoted. Because I was like, oh, good, they'll win more games. You know? I was happy about that. I like that with us, too. Demote us. Let's take on worst competition. We'll be happy with that. All right. It's Mojo in the Morning Show. So the holidays were spectacular. It was so great to be able to spend time with our families and be able to do Christmas. I was blessed that my kids all came in, and we had a really good Christmas.

00:45:00 - 00:45:26 | Speaker 1:

I have to tell you that it's wild when I hear my sons tell me that this might have been one of the best Christmases that they've ever had. Wow, nice. Because they're all so different, and they're older, you know what I mean? Like, it's not like, we don't have, and I do miss the times that, you know, Mike and Shannon, that you guys are having with your kids. Like, I miss the fun Santa Claus-y type times, but Santa Claus still comes to our house. Yeah. In just different ways.

00:45:26 - 00:45:27 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, yep.

00:45:27 - 00:46:54 | Speaker 1:

Sometimes he becomes more drunk after he's been in other people's homes. It's a fun Santa Claus. Chelsea and I did things a little different this year. And I'm going to tell you a story that's going to make you realize that we probably aren't going to do this ever again. We decided that instead of the go out and buy the Christmas gifts that more than likely Chelsea's going to return. And she always seems to have done with some of my gifts that I bought her. But I'll be honest, I'm not a very good gift giver. You know, I'm not as thoughtful as she is with gift giving. We decided what we were going to do was that we would buy things for ourselves, a couple of items, and then we would buy one item for each person. So she would buy me one item. I would buy her one item. And what we wanted to do was we wanted to be more conscious of, you know, the economy and conscious of not going out and just buying useless stuff that we weren't going to be interested in. So I'll give you an example of the items that we bought. I needed a new Apple Watch because my Apple Watch broke on me. And I went and got an Apple Watch. I also have been obsessed for some reason with quarter zips. So I bought myself a couple of quarter zips. I love wearing quarter zips. I love wearing them.

00:46:54 - 00:46:55 | Speaker 2:

Any color other than black.

00:46:55 - 00:46:58 | Speaker 1:

I even got a camo one. It's a great one. I'm wearing it today.

00:46:59 - 00:47:00 | Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh, I'm so proud of you. Okay.

00:47:00 - 00:49:10 | Speaker 1:

And I bought some new gym shoes. Okay, so I needed some new gym shoes. And so I ended up buying some new shoes, which I'm obsessed with. And I've been loving them. Chelsea bought herself some sandals. And then she also needed some new sweaters. And she's on a kick of buying Amazon sweaters. she goes out and buys like these amazon sweaters that cost like 19 and everybody thinks that she got them at like some really expensive store like like macy's or nordstrom's um she ended up buying herself some workout clothes so she needed workout clothes and the amazing thing was at christmas we opened up our gifts and then we were surprised for each other because we got to see exactly what the heck we bought each other right because we were doing it I like it but here's where the problem comes into play the one item that we ended up deciding to buy for each other okay so it was actually the one thing that we decided to go and get I thought because we were on a very practical type of a routine that I would be very practical with my gift giving Chelsea she does in your a long-time listener of the show, you know this, she's very good at buying gifts that make me cry at Christmas time. Like in the past, she's bought me gifts where she bought me like cuff links that had my parents writing love you on them from her old, their old writings and cards that they got me. Like they actually was their handwriting. And she bought like this necklace that I wear all the time that has the kids sayings for me and how much they love me and stuff. So she does things like that that's not very practical my gift was very practical i bought chelsea a washer and a dryer for christmas this was the sentimental gift well our washer and dryer broke okay and the kids were all coming in and she was all freaked out about our washer and dryer breaking so i ended up going out and i bought her a new washer and dryer which by the way is a great washer and dryer i don't try

00:49:10 - 00:49:14 | Speaker 2:

okay why didn't you just buy it got all spike you'd be proud of me

00:49:14 - 00:49:20 | Speaker 1:

it got all the positive i'm gonna say it one more time yeah why didn't you just buy it for

00:49:20 - 00:49:26 | Speaker 2:

the house yep like just buy it to buy it because you needed it because we were buying practical

00:49:26 - 00:49:32 | Speaker 1:

things practical is what i thought we were buying well i think that the the gift is ridiculous

00:49:32 - 00:49:39 | Speaker 2:

Part of me is like, my dryer just broke too. What did you get? Like, at the same time, what did you get? Talk about that after the show. We want to roast him for a second.

00:49:39 - 00:50:35 | Speaker 1:

All right. Chelsea bought me, while I bought her a washer and dryer, Chelsea bought me a rendering of a picture of my mother from back when she was visiting my father's family in Cuba because my dad is from Cuba, and it's her on the beach. and this is like this artist that painted this thing for her and put it in a framed mat and she actually had me open it up and I noticed that on Christmas there was a spot missing where she hung it like prominently in our house it was it was honestly it's it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever I actually shared with you guys and in the pictures that the picture that she got me and then I also shared with you guys because I didn't take a picture of it but I shared with you guys a picture of the wash the ge smart ultra fresh front load steam washer and electric dryer

00:50:35 - 00:50:43 | Speaker 3:

with sanitizing cycle oh no people are texting in where is the dumb mother effort drop i'm not

00:50:43 - 00:50:48 | Speaker 1:

in studio to use the drops but i would have i would have definitely used that why you didn't

00:50:48 - 00:50:57 | Speaker 3:

come home from florida so who opened their gift first you or her um okay so

00:50:57 - 00:51:13 | Speaker 1:

So, I don't know. Hold on. KP, call Chelsea up. I don't even know if KP has Chelsea's number, but I sent you Chelsea's number. Call Chelsea up because I don't even remember who was the.

00:51:13 - 00:51:20 | Speaker 3:

Because you know what I mean? If Chelsea, or if you opened your gift first, the gift that Chelsea gave to you.

00:51:21 - 00:51:21 | Speaker 1:

Yes.

00:51:22 - 00:51:28 | Speaker 3:

I would be in sheer panic to give her the washer and dryer. and I would have stalled.

00:51:28 - 00:51:44 | Speaker 1:

No, can I be honest with you? Then, okay, I know what it was. Chelsea opened up her gift first, which, by the way, her opening of the gift was I didn't, like, bring in the washer and dryer, like, it's a washer and dryer behind, like, it didn't, like, all of a sudden, you know, come rolling in on a car.

00:51:44 - 00:51:48 | Speaker 3:

You didn't have a sequined jacket like Rod Roddy on The Price is Right back in the day?

00:51:48 - 00:52:01 | Speaker 1:

No, I had the pictures of it and that it was being delivered and when it was getting delivered and all the rest of that stuff on there. And I had that all set up. Hold on a second. Chelsea is on the phone. Chelsea?

00:52:02 - 00:52:02 | Speaker 2:

Yes?

00:52:03 - 00:52:10 | Speaker 1:

Sorry to wake you up, Chelsea. Chelsea, how great of a Christmas was it this year? Wasn't it amazing?

00:52:11 - 00:52:14 | Speaker 2:

It was amazing for some, yes.

00:52:16 - 00:52:37 | Speaker 1:

Chelsea, Shannon asked the question. She said, who opened which gifts first? And I forgot for a second because then all of a sudden I remembered you opened up the gift first. And then you said to me, well, here's your gift. And you then, of course, gave me your gift to make me realize how big of an a-hole I am and how horrible I am.

00:52:39 - 00:52:43 | Speaker 2:

Well, I mean, some of us put more thought into gifts than others.

00:52:44 - 00:52:47 | Speaker 1:

I thought we were being practical this year. We were trying to be practical.

00:52:49 - 00:53:07 | Speaker 2:

And my gift was very practical. Thank you. I can spend more time in the laundry room now. Who says Merry Practical Christmas? It's a step up from the Roomba, I guess. Oh, I forgot about the Roomba. The Roomba.

00:53:08 - 00:53:22 | Speaker 1:

Okay, so by the way, the picture of my mom is beautiful. It's absolutely gorgeous. But Mike's wondering if the reason that we didn't come back from Florida is maybe one of us came back from Florida and the other one didn't. But you're with me still.

00:53:24 - 00:53:25 | Speaker 2:

Correct.

00:53:25 - 00:53:26 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, you're still with me.

00:53:26 - 00:53:27 | Speaker 2:

As of today, yes.

00:53:30 - 00:53:52 | Speaker 1:

The other thing that Chelsea, I feel bad about, and for some reason, this has got to be a mom thing. Chelsea put something in my stockings. Like, she actually put, like, we all have stockings, and I felt bad because I forgot that Chelsea had a stocking that I was supposed to stuff, and you didn't get anything in your stocking.

00:53:53 - 00:54:09 | Speaker 2:

I never. It's always my stocking that's hanging up on, you know, what? I don't know what I could say on the air. It's always my stocking that's left hanging on the mantle. And everyone else, even the dogs, they all get stuff on Christmas morning.

00:54:09 - 00:54:11 | Speaker 1:

And you get nothing in your stocking?

00:54:12 - 00:54:18 | Speaker 2:

Nothing. I'm going to start stuffing it with gift cards and hats. Yes, you should.

00:54:18 - 00:54:23 | Speaker 1:

I couldn't put a washer in the stocking or the dryer in the stocking. It wouldn't fit in there.

00:54:24 - 00:54:28 | Speaker 2:

Well, you could have printed two different photos off and put one in my stocking.

00:54:30 - 00:54:43 | Speaker 3:

Don't wish for anything in your stocking because he's going to give you, like, dish towels, toilet paper. At this rate, just things you need for your house. Toilet brush. Right. Windex.

00:54:43 - 00:55:11 | Speaker 1:

All right. Here is the topic right now. um i gave i gave blank a very sentimental gift and they gave me a washer and dryer call us up and tell us what it was that that you ended up getting at 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Quickly, though, the cash equivalent of this, that was a very expensive gift that I bought you. I just want you to know that.

00:55:11 - 00:55:12 | Speaker 2:

That doesn't work that way.

00:55:13 - 00:55:16 | Speaker 7:

I mean, you're so generous. Thank you.

00:55:16 - 00:55:19 | Speaker 1:

I love you. Thank you for that. She's happy.

00:55:19 - 00:55:20 | Speaker 7:

So generous.

00:55:21 - 00:55:22 | Speaker 1:

All right, I'm going to let you.

00:55:22 - 00:55:24 | Speaker 7:

I'm eternally grateful.

00:55:24 - 00:55:29 | Speaker 1:

I'm going to let you go to bed, and you go back to bed, and I will talk to you later, okay?

00:55:29 - 00:55:30 | Speaker 7:

Okay, so it's good.

00:55:31 - 00:55:31 | Speaker 1:

Do you miss me?

00:55:32 - 00:55:33 | Speaker 7:

No, goodbye.

00:55:34 - 00:55:46 | Speaker 8:

She can sleep longer now because she doesn't have to rinse dishes before putting them in. Oh, no, you didn't get the dishwasher. I'm sorry. That's next birthday. You know what? Mother's Day. Valentine's Day. Yeah, Valentine's Day.

00:55:46 - 00:55:49 | Speaker 1:

So many. Elise, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning. Hi.

00:55:50 - 00:55:51 | Speaker 4:

Hi, how are you?

00:55:51 - 00:55:55 | Speaker 1:

Oh, Elise, I'm wonderful. Elise, you're married to a guy like me?

00:55:56 - 00:56:10 | Speaker 4:

Yes. My husband got me a power washer since I'm always cleaning. I love a power washer, but not as a Christmas gift. Yeah, it came on the front porch, and I was like, that better not be for me, and it sure was.

00:56:10 - 00:56:15 | Speaker 1:

Oh, man. What did you get him? Did you get him something nice?

00:56:16 - 00:56:21 | Speaker 4:

No. Well, we had gone in on a deep freezer together because that's what we wanted to spend our money on.

00:56:21 - 00:56:24 | Speaker 1:

By the way, put your husband in the deep freezer. Yeah.

00:56:25 - 00:56:25 | Speaker 4:

Right.

00:56:26 - 00:56:30 | Speaker 1:

Um, thank you guys. Thank you. Hey, Ari. Hi, it's Mojo in the morning.

00:56:31 - 00:56:45 | Speaker 7:

Hey, good morning. Happy new year, guys. Happy new year. So my fiance for Christmas got me the Dyson air fan filter. I have a dishwasher and our bathroom floor renovated. Like it got finished this week for Christmas.

00:56:45 - 00:56:52 | Speaker 8:

Is this something you discussed in advance though? And said, listen, we need to get this house upgraded here. We need an adult Christmas.

00:56:53 - 00:57:07 | Speaker 7:

Well, okay. So he didn't talk about it, but it was something that was in the works and it wasn't going to be done until, like, after Valentine's Day. So he made it happen earlier for Christmas. Oh, okay. That's a good gift. Yeah, see, so I'm okay with my adult Christmas.

00:57:08 - 00:57:16 | Speaker 8:

I feel like guys still need to put one little nice sentimental thing in there, something romantic in there, even if it's small, to go with the Dyson.

00:57:17 - 00:57:17 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:57:18 - 00:57:18 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:57:19 - 00:57:20 | Speaker 4:

Okay, that's true. Yeah.

00:57:21 - 00:57:32 | Speaker 1:

Hey, take care of yourself. cam what's up hi hi how are you guys oh cam we're wonderful we all had a great christmas as it

00:57:32 - 00:57:43 | Speaker 6:

sounds like right yeah what did you last last year i got my husband a signed drumhead of a band and i got a pillow

00:57:43 - 00:57:47 | Speaker 3:

Was it a sign pillow?

00:57:47 - 00:57:51 | Speaker 6:

It was a really nice pillow But I got a pillow That's nice

00:57:51 - 00:57:54 | Speaker 8:

Does the pillow go between the two of you in bed now? To divide

00:57:54 - 00:58:05 | Speaker 1:

Now she just gave her an idea David, what's happening buddy? It's Mojo in the morning

00:58:05 - 00:58:12 | Speaker 2:

That's such a crappy gift Mojo Why didn't you just get her pots and pans And some foot wash So she can walk around barefoot

00:58:12 - 00:58:16 | Speaker 1:

David You're supposed to have my back, David

00:58:16 - 00:58:21 | Speaker 2:

No way, Christmas time You gotta do something special for them Not for the house

00:58:21 - 00:58:37 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, let me just say this to you I did screw up this one And you know what, it's funny Because all I had was one gift to buy Which is basically the easiest thing ever When you look at it I didn't have to buy a bunch of other gifts And it was just one thing

00:58:37 - 00:58:38 | Speaker 2:

Don't you have a jewelry buddy?

00:58:39 - 00:58:48 | Speaker 1:

All your friends? Believe me, I will be calling Vince, Joe, and Fran Lucido to make up for this for future holidays.

00:58:48 - 00:58:48 | Speaker 2:

Double washer and dryer.

00:58:49 - 00:58:50 | Speaker 3:

That's right.

00:58:51 - 00:58:53 | Speaker 1:

Thanks for the call, man. I appreciate it.

00:58:54 - 00:58:55 | Speaker 2:

Thank you. Have a good one. Hey, take care.

00:58:57 - 00:58:58 | Speaker 1:

Kayla, what's up?

00:59:00 - 00:59:11 | Speaker 5:

Hi, Kayla. I've been waiting for the longest time. I'm surprised I got in. But I got a motorcycle for him, like a motorcycle cover, and he got me in a engagement ring.

00:59:11 - 00:59:13 | Speaker 3:

Wow. Okay.

00:59:16 - 00:59:18 | Speaker 5:

Mine was, like, less costly.

00:59:19 - 00:59:27 | Speaker 1:

But wait a second. Honestly, is an engagement ring a good gift for Christmas? Or is that – because that's for him, too. It's part of his – him, you know.

00:59:27 - 00:59:34 | Speaker 5:

Well, I asked for a promise ring, so that's more than a promise.

00:59:34 - 00:59:45 | Speaker 1:

That's more than a promise. Yeah, because I heard this over break. i heard that people who do engagement rings for christmas it's a cop-out that's a cop-out gift

00:59:45 - 00:59:52 | Speaker 3:

i mean well i wasn't expecting it so oh yeah okay i agree though with mojo you do need

00:59:52 - 00:59:56 | Speaker 8:

something else too like that doesn't replace all gifts on christmas you still need to open

00:59:56 - 00:59:59 | Speaker 1:

some gifts hey hey real quick i want to know what's going on here

01:00:00 - 01:00:07 | Speaker 5:

Spike and Shannon, new relationships, not with each other, but with others. But what did we get for Christmas? Did you guys get anything?

01:00:07 - 01:00:21 | Speaker 2:

Well, so Wes and I, excuse me, didn't do gifts. We only did stockings for each other because we're about to take a little trip for my birthday here in a couple of weeks. So we decided to save money and just put our money toward that trip. So we just did like little stocking stuff for stuff. We didn't do gifts for each other.

01:00:21 - 01:00:23 | Speaker 5:

And a ring update? No ring?

01:00:23 - 01:00:23 | Speaker 2:

No ring.

01:00:24 - 01:00:25 | Speaker 5:

Okay. Spike?

01:00:26 - 01:00:34 | Speaker 3:

I have big news. I was going to share this later this morning But I'll say it now Mojo owes me money He lost the bet

01:00:34 - 01:00:37 | Speaker 2:

Oh my god, wait for a second My heart just like stopped

01:00:37 - 01:00:39 | Speaker 3:

No ring, no engagement

01:00:39 - 01:00:43 | Speaker 5:

Did you buy her another cooking utensil?

01:00:43 - 01:00:49 | Speaker 3:

I did I gave her a big box of these Professional chef pats and pans That she wanted

01:00:49 - 01:00:58 | Speaker 5:

If you follow Spike's story On Instagram, Radio Spike You will notice that it has now become Spike's girlfriend Meg's cooking

01:00:58 - 01:01:07 | Speaker 3:

segment. Yeah, a gift for her is a gift for me. I win. She's got all these new, she's been cooking every night with her new Patsy pants. Could you do me a favor?

01:01:07 - 01:01:10 | Speaker 5:

Could you add a feature to that? Could you step on the scale

01:01:10 - 01:01:26 | Speaker 3:

while she's cooking and then step on the scale afterwards? She also has been making me go to the gym every other day now and you know, she's saying I'm going to the gym. I'm going in the car. Does anyone want to go with me? And I'm the only other person in the house, so I know who she's talking to.

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

01:02:56 - 01:03:00 | Speaker 5:

All right, Shannon with Breaking Dirty this morning here on the show.

01:03:00 - 01:03:19 | Speaker 2:

It was a horrifying moment during the Bills-Bengals game on Monday night. Football Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin collapsing at the end of a play and required CPR in the middle of the field. The incident happened just minutes into the game's first quarter, right after Hamlin tackled T. Higgins to the ground.

01:03:19 - 01:03:46 | Speaker 1:

Welcome back to Cincinnati, where medical personnel have been working on Bill's safety, DeMar Hamlin, for the last nine minutes. Hamlin made a hit. He got up, took a couple of steps, and then just fell to the ground. We don't know, of course, the extent of his injuries, but the entire Bill's team is out on the field right now. Several players are down on their knees. Other players are holding hands, praying. You can just see the worried looks on their faces.

01:03:46 - 01:04:09 | Speaker 2:

The bill's providing an update on Hamlin's condition, saying he did go into cardiac arrest on the field. Thankfully, his heartbeat was restored before he left the field in an ambulance. He's currently at a medical center, sedated, in critical condition. A makeup date and time for that game have yet to be revealed. Now, go ahead.

01:04:09 - 01:04:18 | Speaker 5:

I think on that make-up day thing, if he is not out of critical care, they can't play that game.

01:04:19 - 01:04:19 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

01:04:19 - 01:04:28 | Speaker 5:

You know, and honestly, God forbid anything happened to him. And last night I was so worried because they weren't giving on the updates. I was worried that...

01:04:28 - 01:04:31 | Speaker 2:

I mean, he laid on the field for 16 minutes.

01:04:31 - 01:05:00 | Speaker 5:

If he were to have died, and I pray that he doesn't, but if he were to have died, there's no way they play that game. As a matter of fact, the NFL's got a lot of thinking to do. And I think them coming back, you know, they caught a lot of criticism. We talked about this last hour in the 630 Dirty. You can go back and listen to the podcast of that. But we talked about the fact that the NFL didn't make decisions, you know, fast enough. If they now don't have their act together to make decisions.

01:05:00 - 01:05:06 | Speaker 8:

decisions to make them not look like they're just trying to get games in i mean this is real life

01:05:06 - 01:05:22 | Speaker 5:

real people you know i forget the name of the player who he collided with but from the bangles i i really hope that they are giving him therapy or something while going through this because i can't imagine what he's going through either like this is just awful for everybody there's a really

01:05:22 - 01:05:36 | Speaker 7:

good photo of t higgins and his mom there in the locker walking the halls of the stadium after the game with his arm around his mom and she's holding him tightly obviously because she just witnessed her son collide with somebody and that could be her son yeah i mean that could be her son in that

01:05:36 - 01:05:41 | Speaker 1:

position i know oh i found this from an interview that demar hamlin did just a couple of weeks ago

01:05:41 - 01:06:02 | Speaker 2:

i want to play this for you like i can't even describe it but i cherish it every second that i can you know every second of every day we just had our prayer our db prayer we do every wednesday outside he was next to me and i just grabbed his hand a little bit harder just because you know You never know when, like, the last day could be that you're getting to experience something like this, you know? So I'm just, I'm cherishing it every moment I can. Wow.

01:06:03 - 01:06:14 | Speaker 4:

Did you guys see that DeMar had a toy drive fundraiser on his Facebook page? It may be a goal of $2,500, and donations are now over a million dollars from people checking in.

01:06:14 - 01:07:06 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. More tragedy this morning. Rally car driving champ and the co-founder of DC Shoes, Ken Block, is dead at the age of 55 following a snowmobile accident in Utah. He had just posted photos of himself snowmobiling with buddies yesterday morning as well, but according to the sheriff's office, Ken was riding in a snowmobile. It was around 2 in the afternoon on a steep slope when it suddenly upended and landed on top of him. He had been with the group but was alone at the time of the accident. Officials say he was pronounced dead on the scene. I don't want to rehash everything that happened while we were taking some time off, but this was a big one. And the legendary Barbara Walters died last week at age 93. No cause of death was announced. She is survived by her only daughter. And the Pope yesterday marked the start of the three-day public viewing of Pope Benedict. 65,000 people. Benedict Emeritus or something like that, right?

01:07:06 - 01:07:08 | Speaker 8:

What does that mean? That means he retired or he quit?

01:07:08 - 01:07:49 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, he resigns. He resigns. But 65,000 people gathered to see him within five hours. They said they were expecting like 20,000 people. 65,000 people showed up. He is going to be having a very simple funeral at the Vatican on Thursday. And lastly, UFC President Dana White issuing an apology for an incident involving his wife that took place in Mexico over the New Year's weekend. The couple were hanging out at a nightclub in Cabo. And if you saw the video of what happened, wow, you know exactly what I'm talking about here. Yeah, they were in this VIP area. Something happened. Some sort of words were exchanged, resulting in Ann slapping her husband before he retaliated with a slap of his own.

01:07:50 - 01:08:17 | Speaker 3:

Oh, jeez. There was definitely a lot of alcohol involved, but that's no excuse. I literally am making no excuses for this thing at all. It's never happened before. It's the first time that it's ever happened. And people are going to say what they're going to say. And whatever people do say, it's deserved. I deserve it. It happened. I don't know why it happened. And, you know, my wife and I have apologized to each other. We've apologized to our kids. And you don't put your hands on a woman ever.

01:08:18 - 01:08:35 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, and also spoke out about the incident telling TMZ Sports to say this is out of character for him is an understatement. Nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year's Eve, and things got out of control on both sides. For all of today's Dirty, check out that Dirty page on nojourntheworning.com.

01:08:44 - 01:08:53 | Speaker 8:

All right. Let's make Lindsay's New Year. Lindsay. What?

01:08:53 - 01:08:54 | Speaker 5:

No way.

01:08:54 - 01:09:04 | Speaker 8:

You're a winner. Congratulations. Congratulations. You got tickets to see pink. Congrats. How are you?

01:09:04 - 01:09:07 | Speaker 6:

I'm so excited. I'm doing well. How about y'all?

01:09:07 - 01:09:12 | Speaker 8:

Doing great. First off, let me ask you this. In 2022, did you go see any concerts at all?

01:09:13 - 01:09:23 | Speaker 6:

No, honestly. I was going to see, oh, my gosh, in Grand Rapids. I'm so excited. I can't even remember. He canceled his show in May.

01:09:24 - 01:09:25 | Speaker 8:

Oh, really? Who was it?

01:09:25 - 01:09:30 | Speaker 6:

Machine Gun Kelly, maybe? No. Wiz Khalifa.

01:09:30 - 01:09:59 | Speaker 8:

Wiz Khalifa. Oh, my gosh. I saw him on the New Year's Rockin' Eve, the Ryan Seacrest thing. Oh, was it amazing? that's my that's the extent of my new year's i mean i i made it to that portion of the show when they actually bring on wiz khalifa you know it's like one o'clock in the morning at that point i actually watch i you know you know can i tell you something i'm gonna i'm gonna be honest with you and i'm gonna i'm gonna complain here a little bit do you mind real quick you got tickets to see pink okay so congrats congrats to you so i

01:10:00 - 01:10:13 | Speaker 5:

I look at everybody's New Year's, okay, on Instagram. And I'm looking at people, like, what they're doing and stuff. And, you know, now we get all excited, you know, because we can just throw stuff up on our Instagram stories or Facebook or whatever, you know?

01:10:14 - 01:10:14 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

01:10:15 - 01:10:25 | Speaker 5:

I follow Shannon's ex-husband, Andrew. He had the kids for New Year's. Yes. His kids had a more fun New Year's than I did.

01:10:25 - 01:10:35 | Speaker 4:

Let me tell you something. I was in bed watching the ball drop, watching videos of my kids partying, just partying.

01:10:35 - 01:10:40 | Speaker 5:

His kids had all the accoutrement. They had the 2020.

01:10:40 - 01:10:49 | Speaker 4:

The glow headbands and the necklaces and the beads. I am in bed next to my boyfriend who was so sick with the flu.

01:10:49 - 01:10:54 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God. But both of you guys made it to watch the ball drop on TV. I was asleep at 1020.

01:10:54 - 01:11:00 | Speaker 2:

That's true. That's true. I was going to say, it could be longer than I did. Oh, my gosh.

01:11:00 - 01:11:57 | Speaker 5:

It is amazing. Whenever I do see these people, so I have not done a New Year's where I've done the, ooh, I just had breakfast come up. I have not done a New Year's since, you know, like where I've been out at a bar or a club or anything like that and been where they've done, you know, the ball drops and all the rest of that stuff. probably since Joe was a kid, a baby. I think that was the last time that I did it. And then Chelsea and I made a vow that I would stay home on New Year's to celebrate with the kids, pots and pans, banging them and all the rest of that stuff. I can't even get my wife to stay up with me until, you know, midnight. And my kids don't even want to stay up now. Luke actually went to bed, I think, right after the Ohio State loss when they missed the field goal. As soon as that happened, I'm, like, trying to kiss. Luke, come on, it's New Year's. It happened right on the dot, and Luke wouldn't even come and give me a kiss.

01:11:57 - 01:11:59 | Speaker 2:

How old is he? You're probably not cool anymore.

01:12:00 - 01:12:16 | Speaker 5:

I'm not cool anymore. Although he did hang with me and watch, you know, two horrible football games. But they actually were great football games, but it was a horrible outcome, obviously, for Michigan. But all right, hang on the phone for a second, and we'll get you set up with your prize. Happy New Year to you.

01:12:17 - 01:12:19 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. You just made my day. Thank you so much.

01:12:20 - 01:12:38 | Speaker 5:

What if we do this as a show? And I know we agree on this now. We'll hate it later. What if we agree that we'll do, like, a broadcast to celebrate, you know, the new year, and we'll all show up at some, like, wouldn't it be fun to dress up in, like, tuxes and nice dresses and things like that?

01:12:38 - 01:12:43 | Speaker 4:

But at 4 p.m.? But during the day. Yeah. No, I think that's a great idea.

01:12:43 - 01:13:09 | Speaker 5:

We'll do it at noon. On noon. Yeah. But wouldn't it be kind of fun, though? I saw J Towers was out at the Greektown Casino, and I thought to myself, and first off, they were sitting at a broadcast table. I'm like, that does not look very fun to be out there at a broadcast table. I want to do something where we have a big ballroom, like Jingle Ball, you know, was to us, you know, bring an artist in, do something kind of fun like that.

01:13:09 - 01:13:17 | Speaker 3:

I'm in. I know. But, yeah, we celebrated it like when the ball drops in London or Rome.

01:13:17 - 01:13:18 | Speaker 1:

Spike's got a bedtime.

01:13:20 - 01:13:24 | Speaker 4:

Did you guys, did anybody catch CNN's broadcast or were you just watching Ryan?

01:13:24 - 01:13:27 | Speaker 5:

I flipped over there because I wanted to see if they actually drank.

01:13:28 - 01:13:48 | Speaker 4:

Okay, so they didn't drink. It was Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper had a dry New Year's, but they said they drank after the fact, a dry, you know, whatever, broadcast. But did you see that Don Lemon missed the countdown to midnight in the central time zone because he was too busy dancing to back that ass up? worth a mention

01:13:48 - 01:14:00 | Speaker 5:

that by the way when when don lemon's having more fun than us guys come on seriously something's wrong like what is going on why is it that nobody wants to do

01:14:00 - 01:14:06 | Speaker 4:

a new year's fun i did my time the worst holiday we did all those years in our 20s where we'd go

01:14:06 - 01:14:20 | Speaker 3:

to all the overpat clubs and pay 12 for a house well drink that tastes horrible and you can't and get to the bar and the DJ's playing bad music and you had to pay $80 for parking. It was fun for a minute, but yeah, we're done.

01:14:21 - 01:14:28 | Speaker 1:

Has anybody ever had a fun New Year's Eve? I don't know. Like, I've only ever had bad New Year's Eves.

01:14:28 - 01:14:31 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, something bad always happens. It never fails.

01:14:31 - 01:14:34 | Speaker 3:

And expectations are too high. You just set yourself up for failure.

01:14:34 - 01:14:39 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I spent my New Year's Eve holding some hair back, so that was... Wait, you were in New York?

01:14:39 - 01:14:42 | Speaker 4:

You were in New York. I was in New York. Were you in Times Square for the ball drop? No.

01:14:42 - 01:15:05 | Speaker 1:

So apparently if you're from New York, you're a local, you don't go anywhere near Times Square. Everyone hates it down there. So KP, you were visiting someone you knew that lived there? So I had a friend who I actually met at that Forbes Under 30 event months ago. Yeah. Who was hosting and she had me come out there and it was super fun. But yeah. I'm a little bit too crunk, some of us. I was in charge. Good for you. That's fine.

01:15:05 - 01:15:12 | Speaker 4:

You're that close to Times Square. You could not convince this friend, let's go because we can get good pictures?

01:15:13 - 01:15:41 | Speaker 1:

We were going to run down after the fact and just be around the confetti and whatnot. But the line to get into Times Square, even just a couple blocks away, it was almost like a riot. How many people were out there? And it was so hard to just... They were blocking the road. Like that's how many people were trying to get down to Times Square. And people will wait there for 48 or 24, 48 hours in a diaper just to get down to Times Square.

01:15:41 - 01:15:42 | Speaker 3:

I would have went for just the Planet Fitness hats.

01:15:44 - 01:15:48 | Speaker 1:

Hey, can I bring something up about KP?

01:15:49 - 01:16:04 | Speaker 4:

So, you know, I'm down in Tampa and I saw him just a little bit ago and I had to have a little conversation. so KP was remember the big thing during Jingle Ball was that there was a romance between KP and Jed from the Joe Show

01:16:04 - 01:16:05 | Speaker 1:

rumored romance

01:16:05 - 01:16:07 | Speaker 4:

okay these guys well you spent the night in his hotel room

01:16:07 - 01:16:11 | Speaker 1:

yeah come on yeah because you were sick and we had a show to plan

01:16:11 - 01:17:20 | Speaker 4:

yes okay that was exactly so KP was making plans to go in to be down in Tampa and be with Jed over the holidays and i got to golf with jed like uh i don't know day number two of me coming down here and he looks a little you know kind of uh sad so to speak and i said to him i go hey so what's the story with kp and he's like i really don't want to talk about it and i go come on tell me what's going on and he goes well you know we decided we decided whenever i hear a guy say we decided i know it wasn't him that decided right that means the woman decided he said we decided to focus more on our careers and to be better friends because we didn't want to mix business with pleasure and i go what the hell is that all about then i find out ready for this i was the reason why they possibly broke up because kp was afraid that she was going to upset me by dating jed in inner office dating when have you guys ever felt that i would ever be upset by radio drama he lives for that right

01:17:20 - 01:18:09 | Speaker 1:

no i this is a big no-no for me i came to the conclusion i was i was it was a tough one but i'm glad you know i guess i don't know if he's okay now but jed and i had a very simple conversation about moving forward as friends and i know people are disappointed i was getting dms from listeners about it they were they were very upset actually they were really what were they saying well they said well one of i actually had a comment of a comment on one of my pictures someone going you know what i'm glad that you're in new york but i really think that you should have just you know gone down with jet and like love is love kb you should just you should just do it and i and it was like a very long message wait oh my gosh people are invested i got so many people, because I posted a story of me at the airport. Oh, I thought for sure

01:18:09 - 01:18:16 | Speaker 2:

you were going to Tampa. I was going to talk to you, but I'm like, I just want to see what's next. Like, what's the next one? Unfortunately. Sorry, guys.

01:18:17 - 01:18:49 | Speaker 4:

I didn't go to Tampa. I need to ask the listeners this. You guys all know Jed. Jed obviously was part of our show, and then Joe and Jed and Ashley had their podcast and then eventually moved down to Florida to do their show in Florida. And we all love him. You guys now know KP. You've spent enough time with her. Listeners love her don't you think they would be great together yes and and but but no buts no listeners come on what do you guys think about this i wanted it so bad too should they mix business

01:18:49 - 01:19:08 | Speaker 2:

with pleasure shannon um i think this business is just different like i it happens all the time we know morning show hosts that are married to one another it's it's very different than a traditional office setting and you guys would have been a really cute couple i just say but Because if they're not feeling it, they're not feeling it. I can't force it, even though I want to so bad.

01:19:08 - 01:19:12 | Speaker 3:

I know. The long distance thing is the only thing for me. I think otherwise they would have been perfect together.

01:19:13 - 01:19:15 | Speaker 4:

Should he dip his pen in her company ink?

01:19:15 - 01:19:50 | Speaker 1:

No. Cut that out. I feel like it would be like. I still think it's not over. No. I would feel like it would be way better if I could just date people here. Because then if anything happens, I don't have to worry about it. I always have to be around, you know, the Joe show. And I feel like if anything happens, like beef wise or like fights or anything, I don't know. I feel like it would be awkward. You know, I can't talk about the funny things that happen on my dates. But what if that doesn't happen? I know. But I kind of want to have funny stories about dates. I kind of want to continue, you know.

01:19:51 - 01:19:54 | Speaker 3:

Didn't you just get done watching all those great Hallmark Christmas movies?

01:19:55 - 01:19:58 | Speaker 1:

Dude, I found myself watching a very corgi Christmas one night.

01:19:58 - 01:19:59 | Speaker 2:

That's how low it got for me.

01:20:00 - 01:20:01 | Speaker 3:

OK, it was bad.

01:20:03 - 01:20:39 | Speaker 5:

844 Mojo, 844 Mojo Live, 844-665-6548, text 95500. I'm looking at some of these these texters here and look at this. Yes, they would be a power couple. Look at this other one here. Oh, my God, KP, you broke my heart when I saw that you went to New York instead of Florida. I mean, there are there are I think people were into it. Actually, it's funny. I think that the best thing that came out of Jingle Ball, because we all got sick from it, but the best thing that came out of it was this potential romance that I thought was going to turn into something.

01:20:39 - 01:21:12 | Speaker 1:

You know what's funny? Jed pulls. I went to his Instagram, and he's got ladies up the wazoo commenting on his photos. Are you jealous? No. I don't feel jealous. I just think it's funny. Reading every comment. I was not reading every comment, but Jed and I were texting about it. I was like, can you send me some of the weirdest DMs you've gotten? Because we were going back and forth, and I sent him some of mine that are just really funny. And he's got these ladies begging for dates in his DMs. There must be something about him. Yeah, I don't know. Jed's got that, you know, I don't know, something special.

01:21:12 - 01:21:25 | Speaker 5:

It's that book he read. What was the book called that he read? I don't know. You think we all know he talks about so much. The 10% man or something like that. Joanna, hi. Joanna, what do you think about KP breaking Jed's heart?

01:21:26 - 01:21:35 | Speaker 4:

Oh, it's horrible, but they would be such a power couple. It's so great to listen to them on the radio. They could take radio so far with the two of them. It would be amazing.

01:21:36 - 01:21:36 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

01:21:36 - 01:21:38 | Speaker 4:

And they're both so cute and sexy.

01:21:39 - 01:21:44 | Speaker 5:

Quick question. Why would I be upset by anything like this? I don't understand that.

01:21:45 - 01:21:48 | Speaker 4:

I don't think you should be upset at all, Mojo. No, I'm not upset.

01:21:48 - 01:22:03 | Speaker 5:

I think KP doesn't know me well enough To think that I would be upset by this Maybe the busyness of the holidays In my sickness made her feel like I was upset by it But I think I was just honestly just trying to get 2022 over with

01:22:03 - 01:22:08 | Speaker 4:

Maybe she's really worried that she's going to End up in love and fall in love and go to Florida and leave you

01:22:08 - 01:22:09 | Speaker 5:

That's true

01:22:09 - 01:22:17 | Speaker 1:

I told Mojo yesterday I called him and I said The only relationship I'm worried about Is mine with yours

01:22:17 - 01:22:27 | Speaker 5:

Aw, well, isn't that sweet? By the way, I'm not as cute as Jed, and no girls like any of my pictures on social media. What's up, Poncho? Poncho.

01:22:27 - 01:22:29 | Speaker 4:

Good morning, everybody, and Happy New Year.

01:22:30 - 01:22:35 | Speaker 5:

Happy New Year. You're a longtime listener of the station. You love Jed. What do you think about KP and Jed?

01:22:36 - 01:22:41 | Speaker 4:

KP needs the data. I mean, you only live once, so take the risk, KP. Oh, boy.

01:22:42 - 01:22:42 | Unknown:

Yeah.

01:22:42 - 01:22:59 | Speaker 5:

I think so, too. So I said to Jed, I go, hey, I had a talk with KP last night, and I told him that we were going to bring this up on the air. And he was, it's kind of like that kid, you know, in school that you're trying to console. He kind of had this look on his face like, oh, okay, well, I hope everything works out okay.

01:23:00 - 01:23:03 | Speaker 1:

He wrote me the letter that was, will you date me? And I circled, no.

01:23:06 - 01:23:10 | Speaker 5:

Why do I feel like you guys have that kind of a relationship with each other?

01:23:10 - 01:23:10 | Speaker 1:

We would.

01:23:11 - 01:23:15 | Speaker 5:

Helena, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning. We'll get to the scam in a second.

01:23:16 - 01:23:29 | Speaker 2:

Hi. So I texted in, and I said that I don't think the timing's right for them. KP just moved back downstate. You know, she just started a new job, so I think she's definitely trying to focus on that. And I think, you know, give it some time.

01:23:29 - 01:23:31 | Speaker 5:

So how much time? How much time, in your opinion?

01:23:32 - 01:23:43 | Speaker 2:

I think, you know, at least six months to a year or so. You know, starting a new job is definitely hard. And I think she's she's doing the right thing by focusing on that and getting that settled.

01:23:44 - 01:23:54 | Speaker 1:

Thank you. I that really did play a big role in it, too. I just feel like I was just getting adjusted and I didn't want to make any promises to anybody when I was still trying to figure things out for myself.

01:23:55 - 01:24:08 | Speaker 5:

Exactly. Oh, man. Well, listen, you don't want to you don't want it to be a situation where then one of you guys finds another person and then what if, you know, and then you guys are 40 years old.

01:24:09 - 01:24:32 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, but that makes it better because I feel like every person that comes into your life, they change you or they help you grow. And so if right now is not the time and I don't feel ready, but in a couple years I am after learning from others. Because I'm only 23. I'll be 24 in March. Are we really at that point where we want to be serious? I don't know. I just don't feel that way.

01:24:32 - 01:24:35 | Speaker 5:

Listen to Michelle's situation. Michelle, what happened to you?

01:24:36 - 01:24:54 | Speaker 3:

Well, I definitely think you should go for it. I was in a similar situation, and I was a little younger than you, and for this and that reason, I did not go for it. And 43 years later, we are together, and we lost out on 43 years.

01:24:54 - 01:24:55 | Speaker 2:

Look at that.

01:24:57 - 01:24:59 | Speaker 3:

So you should not let any opportunity go.

01:25:00 - 01:25:04 | Speaker 5:

don't know if it doesn't work out your friends if it works out look you didn't lose 43 years of

01:25:04 - 01:25:29 | Speaker 1:

your life wow and jed practically is like a 43 year old even though he's only 26 or 27 jed by the isn't not jed at 26 years old is jed not act like he's 43 years old by the time that you by the time you get to jed he's going to be you know having one he's going to have one of those bathtubs that has a door on it wake up with mojo in the morning and laugh

01:25:29 - 01:25:40 | Speaker 2:

of the phone scans. This is Philip Rippinclipple. Ross, this is Pacino. Five lies to tell your mom. Hey mom, something happened yesterday that I need to tell you about. And senseless surveys.

01:25:40 - 01:25:47 | Speaker 4:

01:25:47 - 01:25:53 | Speaker 1:

01:26:14 - 01:26:20 | Speaker 5:

bureau what is it i'm on oxygen seven days a week and i'm in bed most of the time do you think that

01:26:20 - 01:26:24 | Speaker 4:

every kiss begins with K, or do you think more kisses begin with Bud Light?

01:26:25 - 01:26:26 | Speaker 5:

They're all a jewelry store.

01:26:27 - 01:26:31 | Speaker 4:

Why do you think kids today are more dramatic about losing their phone than they are about losing their virginity?

01:26:32 - 01:26:37 | Speaker 5:

I'll tell you. I don't know the answer to that, but it's a, this world is going phone crazy.

01:26:38 - 01:26:39 | Speaker 4:

They love their phones, don't they?

01:26:39 - 01:26:44 | Speaker 5:

Yep, that's all I can say. They love their phones, that's all. They're going nuts with them.

01:26:44 - 01:26:48 | Speaker 4:

And would you agree that cars need a taco holder much more than they need a cup holder?

01:26:50 - 01:26:56 | Speaker 5:

People are driving down the road eating them. They've got to have a place to put them. I don't know.

01:26:56 - 01:27:00 | Speaker 4:

And when the Internet is really slow, do you ever wonder if everyone's watching porn all at once?

01:27:01 - 01:27:04 | Speaker 5:

Could be. I'm too f***ing old, anyway.

01:27:04 - 01:27:12 | Speaker 4:

Oh, you get your porn the old-fashioned way, huh? The old magazines? Yeah. So be completely honest with me. Are there some days you're just not hustling?

01:27:13 - 01:27:14 | Speaker 5:

Every day I'm hustling.

01:27:16 - 01:27:23 | Speaker 4:

I bet you are. Do you think it's funny that in a brute, violent sport like boxing, the prize is called a purse?

01:27:24 - 01:27:30 | Speaker 5:

I would say so. It sure wasn't Mike Tyson. The sinus is mostly.

01:27:31 - 01:27:32 | Speaker 4:

What was that, I'm sorry?

01:27:33 - 01:27:35 | Speaker 5:

Mostly with the sinus problem.

01:27:38 - 01:27:47 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Well, let me just wrap this up, then. I can tell you're a big Darth Vader fan. Are farts the jazz music of bodily functions?

01:27:48 - 01:27:55 | Speaker 5:

I'll tell you right now, I just took some milk of magnesia, and you're talking about farts.

01:27:55 - 01:27:57 | Speaker 4:

Let me hear the best fart sound you can make.

01:27:57 - 01:28:09 | Speaker 5:

Oh, I can't right now. No way. I might s*** myself. No, no, no. No way, Jose. I told you I just took that milk of magnesia.

01:28:10 - 01:28:10 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah.

01:28:11 - 01:28:13 | Speaker 5:

No, I'm going to stomp right now.

01:28:13 - 01:28:30 | Speaker 3:

Oh, when he started taking his hit of oxygen, I was like, I hit a gold mine. Senseless survey.

01:28:31 - 01:28:36 | Speaker 2:

01:30:00 - 01:30:52 | Speaker 2:

Actually, a couple pictures. So we took pictures that we posted, one at Christmastime, just before we left for the new year, like on the 16th, I think it was, like our last day. And then Reese posted another one on Christmas Day with us. And Megan feels like it was a complete setup by all the rest of us.

01:30:52 - 01:31:12 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I don't feel like it. I know it was a complete setup by the rest of you. And I just want you guys to know, I will never participate in any kind of fun internet trends with you guys ever again because none of you are trustworthy people. Not a single one of you is trustworthy.

01:31:12 - 01:31:14 | Speaker 2:

Explain, explain.

01:31:14 - 01:33:02 | Speaker 3:

So we, and I'm throwing her, get ready for this bus to come tumbling down the road because KP is getting called out here. She wanted all of us. Oh, she thought she was so funny. to dress up and take those, like, awkward family photos. And let me tell you, KP, I was 100% on board with you. I was like, oh, hell yeah, let's get dressed up, let's have some fun. This kind of stuff makes me giggle. Like, I'm totally 100% down to do this. So I show up, and I start looking at everybody's outfits, and I go, okay. All right, well, at least it's still going to be funny with our facial expressions. Now, you know those awkward family photos. We've all seen them. We get in these lines from tallest to shortest. We're all holding each other's arms, and we're taking these photos. I'm gut laughing during these photos, and everybody else is silent because I know these are going to be some bomb photos. We look ridiculous. This is going to be great. I'm going to make it like the banner on my Twitter and my Facebook. Like, I'm excited for these. And then I see it get posted, and y'all are some buttholes. because I am the only one looking like an absolute freak in these photos, and half of you look like some GD models. Kidney, I am looking at you. You pose like you have a cover of Vogue magazine. You were like, oh, wait, me stunning, Kim Kardashian, yes, and I'm over here like, I'm an idiot. I had a straight face. No, you do have a straight face. You have a beautiful, picturesque smile, and your hair is perfect and your outfit is cute and your pose is like, look at me, I am a queen and I'm over here looking like a toddler who just cramped in her diaper.

01:33:04 - 01:33:06 | Speaker 1:

I'll back Megan up on that.

01:33:06 - 01:33:09 | Speaker 3:

I did say KP. I go, KP, you're not wearing a funny outfit.

01:33:09 - 01:33:15 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, KP came in with the idea to make silly faces in a really silly outfit. She did neither of those.

01:33:15 - 01:33:21 | Speaker 3:

I had three people reach out to me and go, why did they do you dirty and post that photo? You look bad.

01:33:21 - 01:33:53 | Speaker 2:

Mr. Hand made it. all the wrong way go go to go to real quick our instagram and i just pinned them both so that they're both right there at the start of our instagram you can take a look at them uh the one was from december the 16th the other one was from the 25th i believe it was or yeah 25th and the first one i will i will give megan credit on this one kp does look like she's like uh like superstars you know goodness lord the rest of us look goofy like we all have goofy smiles i mean And look at Reese, for God's sakes.

01:33:53 - 01:33:54 | Speaker 3:

No, we don't all.

01:33:54 - 01:33:55 | Unknown:

That's just the way I look.

01:33:55 - 01:34:00 | Speaker 2:

Come on. Spike and Shannon, Mike, myself. We all have goofy smiles.

01:34:01 - 01:34:03 | Speaker 3:

Bro, it's not the same, dude.

01:34:03 - 01:34:12 | Speaker 4:

I tried to make the awkward, straight face, and I guess it just looks normal. Oh, no, you didn't do anything. I tried to not smile.

01:34:12 - 01:34:15 | Speaker 2:

If you could see my hand in that picture, it'd be giving you the middle finger.

01:34:15 - 01:34:17 | Speaker 3:

Wait, where is your hand?

01:34:17 - 01:34:18 | Speaker 2:

I don't know.

01:34:18 - 01:34:19 | Speaker 4:

It didn't make it.

01:34:19 - 01:34:20 | Speaker 3:

Oh, it got photoshopped out.

01:34:20 - 01:34:35 | Speaker 4:

I didn't realize that until after I posted it. All right, but I need to clear the air here because actually, Megan, I want to applaud you. I was telling Lydia about this after the picture. I was like, Megan is the only person that listened to me.

01:34:36 - 01:34:37 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, you didn't even listen to yourself.

01:34:38 - 01:34:39 | Speaker 4:

I guess not because-

01:34:39 - 01:34:44 | Speaker 3:

Do I wear overalls and an eight-year-old headband bow in my hair every day? No.

01:34:44 - 01:34:59 | Speaker 4:

I thought you looked just normal, Shannon. Okay. Wait a second. So this my intention was to do the awkward 80s 90s photo where you have like a turtleneck and the high-waisted acid wash jeans and Mojo did Mojo had it he hit.

01:35:00 - 01:35:33 | Speaker 5:

right on the head with um his like turtleneck black shirt and lydia wore the same thing as me and i just feel like uh we got all of our eras wrong everybody was a different kind of style and then the picture wasn't set up correctly so the lighting didn't show facial expressions right and megan you were like you were like stage face facial expressions you were like you did it great you did win the facial expression i was like megan is exactly what i wanted in this photo So I'm going to have to give everyone else Probably a 1.5 out of 10 Megan you get a 10 out of 10

01:35:33 - 01:35:36 | Speaker 1:

I'm doing the same goofy smile that Megan is doing No you're not

01:35:36 - 01:35:55 | Speaker 2:

I'm looking at Megan with glasses I thought Megan looked hot with glasses In the one photo where she's laying On the floor with Shannon But then I did look at the other one We're all standing in line And Megan looks like the kid in the yearbook That forever has to live With that picture

01:35:55 - 01:36:13 | Speaker 6:

I literally look like I'm pooping my pants It's like literally, and I thought this was so great. And then what also did me dirty was when you posted it, there was no funny caption. There was no nothing. So people are like, oh, you guys all look great. Happy holidays. And I know somebody was in their Facebook looking at this going,

01:36:13 - 01:36:20 | Speaker 5:

what's wrong with Megan? You're going to have to take it up with our social impact director because that was not me that posted the caption.

01:36:20 - 01:36:25 | Speaker 1:

I was thinking that, Reese. I'm like, you didn't put any caption to imply that we know we look goofy.

01:36:25 - 01:36:31 | Speaker 4:

I was trying to get people to tune in I start with happy Friday It's goodbye

01:36:31 - 01:36:34 | Speaker 1:

And the photoshop job You literally made me twice as tall as Mojo

01:36:34 - 01:36:37 | Speaker 5:

Oh I did that on purpose I took the picture like that

01:36:37 - 01:36:44 | Speaker 2:

Actually I'll be honest with you The spike being tall You should be thanking him Yeah I'm all about it

01:36:44 - 01:36:49 | Speaker 3:

I gotta hand it to you all You guys look good Poor Mike

01:36:49 - 01:37:07 | Speaker 2:

Mike it looks like you actually You know how when you were a kid You used to, like, pretend like you were, you know, Captain Hook or something like that, and you put your hand up a little bit. It does look like you're doing that, or it looks like your hand's in my pants. I have no idea in this one. Look at that. Reese, how did Mike's hand get photoshopped on?

01:37:07 - 01:37:14 | Speaker 4:

Honestly, I have no idea, but I didn't notice until after I posted it, because I saw a comment, and some guy was like, where's Mike's hand? I did it.

01:37:14 - 01:37:27 | Speaker 5:

The phone was on my phone, and I tried to do that little iPhone trick where you highlight everybody and it copies the picture and turns it into a transparent one, well, iPhone editing is not super.

01:37:27 - 01:37:35 | Speaker 1:

Well, in the other photo, Mojo's foot and penis is missing. What? I don't remember taking a picture with that out. That's true.

01:37:39 - 01:37:43 | Speaker 3:

Actually, the foot's missing. That's just normal,

01:37:43 - 01:37:53 | Speaker 2:

unfortunately. I was just happy that I looked at it and I was like, wow, I actually looked like I was kind of skinny in this photo. I was like, we should do these things more often.

01:37:53 - 01:37:55 | Speaker 5:

You are skinny. Just so you know.

01:37:55 - 01:38:01 | Speaker 2:

No. And Megan, I'm telling you, the glasses thing, it works for you, Megan. No, I'm

01:38:01 - 01:38:05 | Speaker 6:

over it. And I'm over all of you. I don't trust any of you.

01:38:05 - 01:38:09 | Speaker 1:

We have a new idea for next week, Megan. We're going to email you the costume you should wear.

01:38:09 - 01:38:11 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I think you guys are going to look great. Have fun.

01:38:13 - 01:38:55 | Speaker 2:

Coming up in exactly one hour from now. One hour from now, we'll pay your bills. We'll give you a chance to win $1,000, and then we'll kick it off 13 times today $13,000 so be listening to uh the the station throughout the day as you know even when we're off so all right mojo on the morning show so spike how was christmas for you i know you talked earlier this morning about how you guys uh went to philadelphia yeah and we talked before the break about you and your girlfriend and would your parents be okay with you guys you know staying together and all the rest of that stuff and then you brought up even before the break that there was the last time that you guys were there in Philadelphia that your sister was

01:38:55 - 01:40:00 | Speaker 1:

not so into your new relationship. Yeah. So when the holidays come, it's always tough because half of my family, most of my family lives out of town. So we kind of kind of shuffle around and figure out how to see everybody, not hurt anybody's feelings. But we had a great Christmas here in Michigan in my own house with Meg and her son and her mom. And then I flew in the blizzard to Philly Christmas morning to meet up with my girls at my sister's house. And my poor parents both got COVID and we're staying there. So we didn't get to do as much as we planned with them. It's still a nice visit. But the big development was that Megan felt totally welcomed and accepted into the family. And there was one specific moment I'll talk about because when we were there in the um summertime you know we had already been together a year but it was all still brand new to my family because they had like my sister had only met my girlfriend once and of course she was very close Yes.

01:40:00 - 01:40:22 | Speaker 2:

to my ex and so she was a little cold-shouldered she was a little um let's say uh she was unwelcoming the first time the first really last christmas what did she do i brought uh meg home last christmas to for the first time and it was she kind of sat in the other room she didn't mingle much and she didn't come in and welcome meg into her own house and um is she normally

01:40:22 - 01:40:28 | Speaker 1:

really friendly like is she normally the the yeah yeah and and her husband was very friendly and

01:40:28 - 01:41:58 | Speaker 2:

welcoming and i think it was just a weird situation my sister hasn't been around a lot of divorce um she was you know very close to my ex and she might not have you know been like my sister injects herself into a lot of the relationships and she's been like that with my brother and his divorce too and i think it just takes her a longer time to accept or digest what's going on yeah and because she's not here every day so she hasn't met everybody and seen everybody involved and understood that everybody's cool and happy and moving along and and she doesn't understand that it's not up to her like yeah we're gonna be in a relationship i'm gonna be happy no matter what so it doesn't matter whether or not you accept it but i'll tell you it was a 180 degree change this christmas and and i think time has shown her that obviously meg and i are serious that everybody has moved on everybody's happy and my ex was over her house christmas um spending some time with my family too so um she could see i think that everybody was happy and everybody's moving forward and she was so welcoming that she gave my mother a gift of a blanket for christmas with all the family photos on the blanket of all the children and the grandchildren printed on the blanket and there in the center of the blanket was a big picture of me and meg my girlfriend No way. Really? Yeah. And my sister made it. So she decided she was going to put that picture in there. And it was, it meant so much to Meg, my girlfriend.

01:41:58 - 01:41:59 | Speaker 1:

Did you choose like a good picture?

01:42:00 - 01:42:07 | Speaker 2:

It was a good picture. Yeah. Oh, good question. Good question. Well, she took it from my Instagram. Obviously, I'm not going to, I'm not going to post a bad picture on there.

01:42:07 - 01:42:09 | Speaker 1:

No, could you imagine though that? Yeah.

01:42:10 - 01:42:25 | Speaker 2:

Well, here's the big thing though. I thought, okay, it's one thing to put us on the blanket. I thought we'd be up on the corner so that if she decided later she wanted to cut my girlfriend out of the blanket, she can fray the edge of the blanket or something. We were smack dab in the center. There's no escaping that.

01:42:26 - 01:42:35 | Speaker 1:

Do you think that she did that purposely, putting you in the center to show you that now she's good with everything? Maybe. I don't know. Or did it just fit in that spot?

01:42:36 - 01:42:52 | Speaker 2:

No, it's funny because she texted me and was asking me a month or two ago, was this serious? Well, I know you say serious, but I know, you know, but there's been other people have been dating for a year and a half that, and then they break up. I'm like, well, told my sister.

01:42:52 - 01:42:55 | Speaker 3:

She wanted to be sure her gift was going to stay in the test of time. Right.

01:42:55 - 01:43:20 | Speaker 2:

That's exactly what it was. And I'm like, listen, breakups happen all the time. It doesn't matter if you've been together a month or 20 years. You never know what's going to happen. You have to live for the moment and understand I'm in love with this person right now. And I, I see it going in the future. We moved in together a few months ago Because we really believe in each other So that's up to you You can do whatever you want with your gift But I'm telling you that I believe That we're forever

01:43:20 - 01:43:27 | Speaker 1:

And we talk that way Were the kids close to your picture too in the center? Did you make the blanket a couple more times?

01:43:27 - 01:43:33 | Speaker 2:

Well then she did a photo of the girls That was separate Of my two girls together And that was in a different spot

01:43:33 - 01:43:39 | Speaker 3:

And this was her gift only to your parents? Yes Oh, I was going to say, maybe you paid a little bit more for the family.

01:43:39 - 01:43:40 | Speaker 2:

No, no.

01:43:40 - 01:43:42 | Speaker 3:

And that's why you got the prime real estate.

01:43:42 - 01:43:44 | Speaker 1:

No, she didn't even ask me to give them the gift this year.

01:43:44 - 01:43:46 | Speaker 3:

To me, that's a huge deal.

01:43:46 - 01:44:13 | Speaker 1:

Hey, quick question for you on the family, you know, staying at the house and stuff. You also told us that your mom and dad still have pictures of your brother who's divorced with his ex-wife, their wedding photo, and then had pictures of you and your ex-wife in your wedding photos with your brother who's still married with his wife. Did they take down the other two wedding photos after you talked about that?

01:44:14 - 01:45:28 | Speaker 2:

No, no. So my mom still has all the wedding photos up, including me and my brother who was divorced, like, I don't know, 19, 20 years ago. So I can't figure out, I've never dressed it with my parents because I don't want to make my mom feel awkward about it. And I can't decide in my head if it's because of how beautifully they're arranged in a little diamond square formation that I think she doesn't want to mess it up and remove any because she's so proud of how she put this whole wedding wall. It's a wedding wall because it's like my parents in the center and then the four children's wedding photos are rounded in a diamond. And I think she might be afraid to mess up that wall. Or I didn't know if it was because my parents are so traditional Irish Catholic and don't believe in divorce that they just don't want to. Well, I knew and I know they'd still love, you know, the the ex-wives in this situation, too. They're still friends and they're still friends. So there's, you know, to them, I think maybe they just feel like they have their grandkids. Yeah. So maybe they maybe my mom thinks it'll be disrespectful to take them down. But I pointed to it when we were there six months ago. I showed Megan. I said, listen, this is never going to go down. I said, it doesn't matter how long we're together. Those photos. There's like the walls are stained around those photos. They are never getting moved.

01:45:29 - 01:45:34 | Speaker 3:

You and Meg, your girlfriend, need to just get married to make the wedding walk.

01:45:34 - 01:45:36 | Speaker 1:

He's still trying, man.

01:45:36 - 01:45:43 | Speaker 3:

You need to do that because I think I still have a little bit of time because I said within a year. I don't know. You said until the end of the year, yeah. I did say it.

01:45:43 - 01:45:47 | Speaker 2:

I'll put it in my calendar. I was going to make you pay the bet, but, you know.

01:45:47 - 01:45:48 | Speaker 3:

I'll pay it. I'll pay it when I get back in the town.

01:45:48 - 01:45:49 | Speaker 2:

Buy me Starbucks.

01:45:49 - 01:45:52 | Speaker 3:

Johnny, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning.

01:45:53 - 01:46:03 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I was just going to say, quit playing, man. Just marry this girl. What's the rush? because you guys are in love you guys look good together too man yeah okay so we will i hope to

01:46:03 - 01:46:15 | Speaker 3:

someday wait a second you said on our show mike remember this same argument again you said on our show that you were never getting married ever again that you guys didn't want to get married

01:46:15 - 01:46:26 | Speaker 2:

i said but then remember he changed his mind i said i had no plans on getting her a ring we were you were asking me when we were together like five months i think mike's got the audio i have no rush

01:46:26 - 01:46:33 | Speaker 3:

Go ahead, play it. Thanks, Johnny. All right, this is Spike. And I'm going to put the video up.

01:46:33 - 01:47:29 | Speaker 2:

We have no rush. We're in no rush. First of all, I would like to see my daughter get married first. She's, you know, my daughter's been dating her boyfriend. Is that a possibility? I think it is. Oh, I know it's a possibility. We've talked about them getting married and stuff in the future. So they've been together six years. But my daughter wants to do things in the right order of graduating college this May and then moving home finding a job her you know her boyfriend's fine it got a good job but he's searching for an even better job so they're doing things the right way they're like let's get our lives together and get settled and then we'll do that but uh i saw my daughter's vision board and she did have a little ring on there so that for 2023 so i said what's this you guys you want to get a manicure in 2023 she's holding up you know there's a hand picture with a ring but i know that will happen and i want to give her the you know you do not want to show up uh that exactly that

01:47:29 - 01:48:02 | Speaker 4:

would not be a good idea yeah erica what's up i just wanted to say that like in regards to the wedding pictures um my parents separated when i was two so i don't really remember any like like memories of them together but i always like really liked looking at their wedding pictures it was really nice like as the kids so i feel like for his daughters it's still nice for her to see them to see hurt their parents, you know, being happy at one point. It's a reminder that, like, even though they may not be together now, they had been in love at one point. And it's, like, nice as a kid to see those things.

01:48:02 - 01:48:20 | Speaker 2:

And it doesn't bother me, which is why I didn't want to bring it up to my mom because, you know, it doesn't, I don't want her to think it bothers me. And I don't think it bothers Meg, to be honest with you. I mean, she sees all the photos up of all the children and grandchildren and everything on the, there's a whole order to how my mom puts everything on the curio cabinet over the TV.

01:48:20 - 01:48:23 | Speaker 1:

My mom still has my wedding album on the coffee table.

01:48:24 - 01:48:26 | Speaker 2:

Oh, really? The whole album.

01:48:26 - 01:48:35 | Speaker 1:

And Wes was over for your Christmas Eve. It costs a lot of money, those albums. Yeah, and he's like, it is kind of weird, but I get it. Because the same thing, the kids love looking through it. Yeah. You know, to see the pictures.

01:48:35 - 01:49:16 | Speaker 2:

My mom was so gracious. I mean, Meg just had the best time this holiday, and she kept talking about, like, your family is just the best. And like they were so kind and welcoming and the gifts they gave her for Christmas and sentimental things and personal things. And then my mom called her son on her birthday to say happy birthday. And it was just really sweet. My family really welcomed her with open arms. And I think it just showed that, you know, we we progress at a different level because we're you guys like see me with Meg every day for the last year and a half we've been dating. But my parents and my family at home have only met her a few brief times. So it's obviously going to take them a little longer to warm up.

01:49:16 - 01:49:39 | Speaker 3:

Do you do you? Oh, God, what was the question? I was going to ask a question and then you went on that diatribe there. Do you cross like you said, your daughters were in there. A lot of people wonder why your daughters are there. So your ex is from Philadelphia. Yeah. Yeah. You guys all spend the holidays visiting family members and stuff.

01:49:39 - 01:50:00 | Speaker 2:

So we had a tradition for many years, which we still continue today, of we'd go over to my ex's family for the first half of the vacation, Christmas Eve. And then Christmas Day, we would transfer over to my family. So the girls still do that. And so they flew home with their mom, and they spent a few days with that side of the family. And then Christmas...

01:50:00 - 01:50:55 | Speaker 4:

morning uh my ex brought the girls over to my family's and she spent time with us too and then the next couple days was just my girls and me getting to get some really good quality time uh with my daughter being away at college i don't get to spend a lot of time with both of them at the same time so it was amazing and then also with my parents and my family and then meg flew in she actually missed i actually dropped my girls off at the airport and then picked up meg uh just because of her custody with her son that we didn't get to spend that time together. But it'll be tricky for the next few years. It's a juggle, isn't it? Yeah, it'll really be tricky the next few years because her son's the perfect age to want to have Christmas at home. And then my girls, you know, have a certain amount of time of college break to be able to see everybody and shuffle around. So it's different because we also want to get to Philly to see the grandparents are aging. So we want to spend as much time with them at the holidays. So we'll call it year by year and figure out what we're doing.

01:50:55 - 01:50:57 | Speaker 3:

You didn't get affected at all by that Southwest Airlines?

01:50:58 - 01:51:03 | Speaker 4:

No, luckily I love Delta. They're so good. It's unbelievable, isn't it? They are the best.

01:51:03 - 01:51:18 | Speaker 3:

Something tells me that Southwest Airlines thing, for those that didn't see that, people have still not even gotten their bags back, but they had to cancel all these flights. Something tells me that there's more to this story. I know that they tried to blame weather, which I think is BS because other airlines were able to do it.

01:51:18 - 01:51:19 | Speaker 4:

This is the second time it happened to Southwest.

01:51:20 - 01:51:29 | Speaker 3:

And then they blamed their system that they have, which their system was bought by the government just recently. I think they got hacked. I think the Russian government or something hacked into them.

01:51:29 - 01:52:02 | Speaker 4:

The way the weather affects Southwest and it doesn't affect the other airlines, you have Delta, for instance, has the hub and spoke. They travel. They have big hubs like Detroit, Atlanta, Minneapolis. So if a weather gets shut down because of weather, it doesn't matter. They just have other crews and other planes in the big hubs so they can get to the other cities. It doesn't shut down their airlines. It's the way Southwest does it to be cheaper. They fly to six cities in one day. They do a big loop across the country with one airplane. So if they get stuck in one bad city. I'm a conspiracy theorist.

01:52:02 - 01:52:06 | Speaker 3:

No story is legitimate anymore these days for me.

01:52:06 - 01:52:15 | Speaker 4:

But if they have one bad city with weather, it messes up six cities. And then, unfortunately, we all try to get a deal, so we book Southwest. Well, then you don't have another plane to get you out of that city.

01:52:15 - 01:52:26 | Speaker 1:

I also read somewhere that Southwest is the only airline that has the same plane. like they only have one plane and so any pilot can fly so they should have been able to fix this

01:52:26 - 01:52:45 | Speaker 3:

wave sooner yeah i don't know i i'll be honest i'll be honest with you i anytime any story comes on i always sit there and have to go okay what's the real story what's the real story here yeah um all right uh mojo in the morning fan which means his nose is stuck up in the air so often

01:52:45 - 01:52:51 | Speaker 2:

that he can't see what's really happening on the show. This is Michigan State University, or Mojo in the Morning.

01:52:51 - 01:52:58 | Speaker 3:

Hey, real quick. Do you believe the rumors that are out that Jim Harbaugh is leaving for the Denver Broncos?

01:52:58 - 01:53:03 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, well, I think he made that clear. Beginning of the season, he kind of almost wanted to jump to the NFL, didn't he?

01:53:03 - 01:53:05 | Speaker 3:

I thought, though, that he said that he was staying.

01:53:05 - 01:53:10 | Speaker 4:

After he got declined an offer from the Vikings, he said, I had no intention of leaving.

01:53:10 - 01:53:15 | Speaker 3:

But now everybody's now saying after this loss that he's leaving.

01:53:15 - 01:53:29 | Speaker 4:

Well, ESPN had some strong rumors that they heard rumblings of him talking. I think he's always talking. I think most coaches are always looking for the next thing. But I hope he doesn't, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he does.

01:53:29 - 01:53:53 | Speaker 3:

Here's my thing. You Michigan fans, you guys jump off of his jock as soon as that game happened. I was watching on social media how many people were upset with him over that loss. and then posting all the bowl games that he lost. And then weeks before, these are the same people that we're all talking about, how he's the greatest coach, and we got to stick with, you know, we love Jim Harbaugh and all those things. Stick with your team, Spike.

01:53:54 - 01:54:00 | Speaker 4:

What do you mean? I never left my team. I know you didn't. Love my team and my coach. I just, it was a bummer of a game. They didn't play well.

01:54:00 - 01:55:25 | Speaker 3:

I have a couple other friends on social media that were like all, we need to move on from Harbaugh. And I'm like, wait a second, You were the same guys that literally were talking about how Harbaugh is the only guy that's beaten Ohio State twice now. And I don't know. I get carried away. But welcome to sports radio, 1150 WDFN, the fan. No, I want to bring something up here right now. This is kind of sports radio kind of a conversation. Ready? So I had all my boys home for Christmas. Joe flew in from, thank God he missed out. We got him in a day early, thank God, from that storm that just completely clobbered us. And the cold weather, how crazy cold and awful was that? Just the blowing snow. And then Jacob has been in for like the last couple of weeks, so he was with us for a couple of weeks. And so it was fun having them with their brother Luke, who's home, you know, in the house. Well, one of the things that happened one of the days... days was kind of funny and Chelsea and I still laugh about it and he knows nothing about it. So do not tell him because I know you guys are people that like to tell on us especially on social media to people when we bring stories up. So Joe did not bring a razor home with him. He didn't bring anything with him. He didn't bring a toothbrush. He didn't bring his toothpaste. It makes me wonder what kind of hygiene this kid has. Just when you think

01:55:25 - 01:55:27 | Speaker 2:

you raised a functional

01:55:27 - 01:57:54 | Speaker 3:

adult. It's unbelievable. First off, he packed the most unbelievably small carry-on bag. And I said to him, I go, did you check luggage? And he goes, no. And I look at him and he's got like a backpack. And I said, I go, are you sure you have anything in there? And he goes, oh no, I got it. And I go, so we're going out on Christmas Eve for like a really nice dinner downtown. I said, did you bring any nice clothes? And he goes, I think I still left some clothes here at the house. I'm like, Joe, we've cleared all your crap out of the house. It's all in boxes probably somewhere so he says to me he goes dad can i use your razor and as a father of sons it's always the thing that bothers me the most when my kids use my razors really and i yeah well i think moms get this too do you ever have this where your kids or your your you know or your husband or something uses your razor the next time you use it what does it do it clobbers your face right yeah my girls have used my razors my deodorant my everything lucy wait till lucy's using your stuff you're gonna i'm telling you she's gonna go from that beautiful little kid to that pain in the ass that's using your stuff so joe says to me he says dad can i use your uh your razor and i said yeah i said it's you know it's up in this and he goes he goes i want to use your manscaper and i said okay and i have mike and i are obsessed with this manscaper if you the the lawnmower right and then what it's called lawnmower 4.0 i think it's called yeah so i have two of them um one that was my first one that i bought and then the second one was the newest edition of it that came out that i was like oh this is really cool i'm gonna get another edition of it because i want one of them for my face and the other of them for my huevos um so i mean smart idea you can't mix them i go into the bathroom and this is where you cannot tell joe this okay So don't anybody go on his social media and tell him this. Joe went into my bathroom to go shave because he was going to trim his beard down. And I go into the bathroom and noticed he used my huevos ones for his face. So Chelsea comes into the bathroom and she's like, why are you laughing? I go, Joe asked me if he could use my razor to trim his beard. And he used the one that I used to clean down there. And Chelsea was dying So the whole time that we have been Hanging with Joe throughout the holidays We are looking at him going God your beard just looks amazing

01:57:54 - 01:58:05 | Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh That's so good I always thought that's what Manscaper made Products for the junk I didn't think, did they make beard trimmers? This one, well you can use the Manscaper

01:58:05 - 01:58:07 | Speaker 3:

Basically you can use for both

01:58:07 - 01:58:10 | Speaker 1:

But you're saying you have two Just for the two separate areas

01:58:10 - 01:58:11 | Speaker 3:

Yes, I have two

01:58:11 - 01:58:16 | Speaker 2:

But he must have one for beards because he didn't have any qualms about using that.

01:58:16 - 01:58:23 | Speaker 3:

Well, here's the thing. I don't get these people. Mike, do you have a separate thing for down there that you use for upstairs?

01:58:24 - 01:58:36 | Speaker 1:

Yes, yes. So I just have the Manscaper for the huevos because it's like a specific blade that won't cut down there. And then I have a normal one for like a regular beard trimmer for my face or whatever.

01:58:37 - 01:58:42 | Speaker 3:

I need to. When's your birthday? I'm going to buy you a new one for your face. Is it good on your face? It's so great, Mike.

01:58:42 - 01:58:44 | Speaker 2:

Wait, so there are different additions

01:58:44 - 01:59:54 | Speaker 3:

of this thing well they have no they kind of well they have a different bunch of different ones but you can use them for whatever you want to use them for but i know some people oh look who just walked in the room look who just walked in oh i i mean i'm in joe's studio by the way down in tampa so i'm still down here until luke luke goes back to school on thursday so we're flying back on wednesday well this wasn't planned do we need to change the topic how you doing fantastic your beard looks amazing you're not as good as your beard you better keep growing it out you should See mine, by the way, guys. You got a vacation beard? I've got a vacation one. I'm not shaving. I'm going no shave, no more. I don't know what it is. But let's talk about your beard, Joe. It looks fantastic. Why? What do you want to talk about? Well, I was just talking about how you came to visit in Detroit, but you packed nothing, and you had to use my razor, which you look so fantastic. I'm loving that you look. And? Yes. Your razor and? And? What? Mom didn't tell you. What? what are you talking about are you really talking about this and you don't know no I don't know what you're talking about I used your toothbrush the first day oh that's a ballsy move

01:59:54 - 01:59:56 | Speaker 2:

oh that is a ballsy move

01:59:56 - 02:00:00 | Speaker 3:

well then I need to tell you that the manscaped

02:00:00 - 02:00:17 | Speaker 4:

that you used to trim your beard was my manscaper for my balls. No! So, but honestly, my mouth is like... Are you serious, though? I am very serious. We were just talking about this.

02:00:17 - 02:00:18 | Speaker 3:

Do you clean it?

02:00:19 - 02:00:28 | Speaker 4:

No, I use it for my... I have one for my privates and one for my third floor. Yes. You used the wrong one.

02:00:28 - 02:00:30 | Speaker 3:

Well, then I don't feel bad about the toothbrush.

02:00:31 - 02:00:46 | Speaker 4:

He used my toothbrush. I know how you are about that. You've talked about that before. Yes. That's great. By the way, I've smelled his breath. He doesn't use a toothbrush very often. Yes, I do. Can I ask you a question? Does Alyssa ever tell you that your breath smells?

02:00:47 - 02:00:47 | Speaker 3:

She does.

02:00:48 - 02:00:49 | Speaker 4:

And what does she tell you?

02:00:50 - 02:00:56 | Speaker 3:

Hey, breath check. Breath check. That means that I got to go. I brush my teeth three times a day now.

02:00:56 - 02:01:01 | Speaker 4:

With your dad's toothbrush It doesn't gross you out to use another person's toothbrush

02:01:01 - 02:01:10 | Speaker 3:

I thought you were about to say another man's This is 2023, I don't see gender in my brushes I don't know, I mean like Tom Brady kisses his kids and cuddles with them

02:01:10 - 02:01:19 | Speaker 4:

But the bacteria on a toothbrush By the way, question for you Spike What's grosser? I think the toothbrush is grosser

02:01:19 - 02:01:26 | Speaker 5:

That's the interior At least the ballsy-walsy is out the exterior I don't know, though, on your chin.

02:01:26 - 02:01:36 | Speaker 4:

It's on your chin, though, too. Oh, my God. This is the grossest thing. What are you doing right now on your show? Are you in a commercial break right now? Okay. All right.

02:01:37 - 02:01:40 | Speaker 3:

We'll be back soon. We've got, like, four songs to play, and then I get to talk in 10 seconds.

02:01:43 - 02:01:53 | Speaker 4:

Show's sounding good, by the way, buddy. Listening to your show down here. It's always... Oh, yeah. I haven't even been on. No, I heard you. I've been listening to your best of. Your best of sounds good.

02:01:54 - 02:02:00 | Speaker 3:

No, we just talked about that.

02:02:00 - 02:02:03 | Speaker 4:

Did you talk to Jed at all about that?

02:02:03 - 02:02:05 | Speaker 3:

Jed's been talking to like a 35-year-old, so I don't know.

02:02:06 - 02:02:10 | Speaker 4:

Wait? Really? So he's actually cheating on KP? I could see him dating a mom.

02:02:10 - 02:02:19 | Speaker 3:

He's not cheating or anything. I think that KP, Jed said his intentions. Jed, I think, liked KP. I don't think KP was really into it.

02:02:19 - 02:02:21 | Speaker 4:

She was just looking for something further.

02:02:21 - 02:02:35 | Speaker 3:

I got an issue with both the people on my show. Ashley admitted she went to Miami for Christmas. She met a girl. They met for the first time on Christmas. She shared a hotel room like Judd shared a hotel room. They didn't kiss either. Really? I don't know what's going on with everyone on my show. No one does anything.

02:02:37 - 02:02:39 | Speaker 1:

Wait a second. I think that's a lot right there.

02:02:40 - 02:02:42 | Speaker 5:

Well, we all know we get to first base with Joe on the first date.

02:02:43 - 02:02:43 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, Joe.

02:02:44 - 02:02:44 | Speaker 5:

Joe, by the way.

02:02:44 - 02:02:48 | Speaker 3:

I mean, if I was in a hotel, I'd assume that we're at least, like, touching each other's butts.

02:02:50 - 02:03:01 | Speaker 4:

You used your dad's toothbrush. Hold on a second here Is Jackie on the phone? Jackie, hi Hey, I'm here Jackie, are you as grossed out as I'm grossed out right now?

02:03:03 - 02:03:19 | Speaker 2:

About the toothbrush thing, absolutely Not so much about the razor thing Because I don't live at home anymore I moved across the state to Muskegon from Waterford And forgot my razor and used my mom's And she gave me a big talking to about how I should not have done that

02:03:19 - 02:03:24 | Speaker 5:

Where did you use the razor? Was it just your legs or was it other places?

02:03:25 - 02:03:26 | Speaker 2:

Legs and armpits

02:03:26 - 02:03:30 | Speaker 5:

I guess he's still wearing the razor after a while Too much use

02:03:30 - 02:03:41 | Speaker 4:

Well, listen, the other thing, too, is the smoothness of it Your smoothness is not like my smoothness You know what I mean? Like your mom probably ended up feeling the effects of you using that

02:03:41 - 02:03:48 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I got a huge talking to about that So I make sure I always bring my razor when I come visit Yep

02:03:48 - 02:04:16 | Speaker 4:

Jackie, question If you were to spend the night in a hotel room with a person, another person, would you not at least, like, get a little bit of something? Because Joe's, I think, right on something here. Jed didn't supposedly touch KP, and KP didn't touch Jed. Ashley meets a girl down in Miami. She actually traveled to go meet this girl, and she claims that she didn't even touch this girl.

02:04:16 - 02:04:19 | Speaker 2:

That's interesting

02:04:19 - 02:04:23 | Speaker 5:

Maybe she didn't want to be radio topic I bet you she did

02:04:23 - 02:04:28 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no, no, no She told me even off the air that she didn't do anything Really? You know Ashley's bike

02:04:28 - 02:04:30 | Speaker 5:

She's so sexual

02:04:30 - 02:04:32 | Speaker 3:

She's like, I mean, I can't even picture

02:04:32 - 02:04:33 | Speaker 1:

Does she really, really like this girl?

02:04:33 - 02:04:45 | Speaker 3:

She's been super sexual I thought she was going to try to do me before she left for college Yeah My thing is, and everyone kept calling into our show And saying that because of this, Ashley's now friend zone She's now friend zone

02:04:45 - 02:04:49 | Speaker 1:

Well, wait a second Does she are they still talking or was that the end of it? And that's why they didn't do anything

02:04:49 - 02:04:53 | Speaker 4:

They is she does she like her does she like her? I'll bring Ashley in

02:04:53 - 02:05:09 | Speaker 3:

All right, actually really you should all I'll come back and I'll okay, so that's the reason you're like a love Oh, oh, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley. Wow. All right. We got to get to the dirty. We're running late on that. Break up her makeup's on the way, too.

02:05:09 - 02:05:12 | Speaker 5:

See, you could have been listening to the crap the other morning shows are talking about.

02:05:13 - 02:05:15 | Speaker 3:

But you heard that on Mojo in the Morning. Happy.

02:05:17 - 02:05:19 | Speaker 5:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

02:05:20 - 02:05:23 | Speaker 3:

All right, Shannon, let's get up to date on what's going on this morning. We got Breaking Dirty.

02:05:23 - 02:05:50 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, so if you somehow missed it, let me give you a recap here. Buffalo Bills safety Jamar Hamlin collapsed on the field and was administered CPR before being driven away in an ambulance during last night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The injury happened when Hamlin collided with Bengals receiver T. Higgins after a completion. He got up, appeared to adjust his face mask, and then fell backward about three seconds later and was just motionless on the field.

02:05:52 - 02:06:01 | Speaker 2:

That's not what any of us want to see and everybody's around him and just hope that he's going to be okay.

02:06:03 - 02:06:06 | Speaker 3:

So we'll take another break here in Cincinnati.

02:06:07 - 02:06:34 | Speaker 1:

The game was suspended for the night and when Hamlin was taken off the field 16 minutes after he collapsed, the Bills gathered in prayer. He was driven to UC Medical Center where he remains. He is in critical condition. He did suffer cardiac arrest on the field his agent jordan rooney releasing a statement last night that said his vitals are back to normal they have put him to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat they are currently running tests we will provide updates as we have them we talked we i'm sorry to interrupt

02:06:34 - 02:07:04 | Speaker 3:

you but we talked earlier this morning about the the and you just played coverage where you heard joe buck and troy aikman speaking it was brought up you know on the on the air here i don't know if it was Mike or Megan which one of you guys said this but after watching last night and then hearing you say this it makes so much sense it was like they didn't want to tell you that the game was going to be suspended because they wanted to just get a bunch of commercials in and they waited until they got all their national commercials in and then eventually told you was

02:07:04 - 02:07:08 | Speaker 2:

that you Megan that said that was I believe they played seven commercial breaks they didn't want

02:07:08 - 02:07:16 | Speaker 3:

anyone tuning out wow and and I have to tell you that the broadcasters yeah I get it it's tough This is something nobody's ever had to broadcast.

02:07:16 - 02:07:19 | Speaker 1:

And they had no information. They were given no information.

02:07:19 - 02:07:45 | Speaker 3:

But the broadcasters almost kind of were like, all right, we're going to take a break. We'll be right back. And they started doing it. And after Megan brings that up, because I thought they did a great job last night of covering this and trying to stay focused. Now I'm thinking, we got had. Maybe the whole thing is that the NFL told them already that they were going to cancel the game. and the ESPN people are like, hey, we've got to get our commercials in for Monday Night Football.

02:07:45 - 02:07:55 | Speaker 2:

No, I think that for a long time, player safety has never been a care of the commissioner or the NFL in general. They've proven it to us too many times.

02:07:55 - 02:08:06 | Speaker 4:

I agree, and I think the broadcasters handled it tremendously. I think they did an amazing job. I don't think they were told anything. I think they were just told to hang on, basically.

02:08:07 - 02:08:18 | Speaker 2:

They also saw more than we did because they were in the stadium where it was happening. I can't believe it took 16 minutes to get him out of there, though. That, to me, is insane.

02:08:18 - 02:08:49 | Speaker 5:

Red Wings fans will remember back in 2005 when Uri Fisher collapsed on the ice. Same thing, cardiac arrest, and he was unconscious on the ice. And they called that game immediately. And it was to the misfortune of everybody in the arena had to watch and be so nervous because he was unresponsive. And they did CPR, then they brought out the paddles on the ice, and no one was sure if he was going to survive. but they did not delay in canceling that game immediately because the only thing they were worried about was getting that player the carry needed.

02:08:50 - 02:09:04 | Speaker 2:

But to your point then, because remember the Dallas Stars game where the guy had a heart attack on the bench and they canceled the game almost immediately? It seems like the NHL takes their player safety like way more seriously than the NFL does.

02:09:05 - 02:09:19 | Speaker 5:

And you alluded to the fact early in the show that they're so worried about this game and the outcome for Super Bowl reasons that maybe they were seen if they could squeak it by. But how did the players possibly even go back on that field after watching one of their teammates?

02:09:20 - 02:09:26 | Speaker 4:

And that's who I think made the ultimate call. I don't think the commissioner made the ultimate call. I think the players and coaches went, we're not going back.

02:09:27 - 02:09:39 | Speaker 2:

I think the commissioner said, get on the field. And the player said, no, thank you. The rumor is that the players didn't leave their locker rooms afterwards. And they wanted them to hit the field again.

02:09:39 - 02:09:41 | Speaker 1:

Some of them went to the hospital.

02:09:41 - 02:09:51 | Speaker 3:

Well, many of the players actually got out of their uniforms right away, too. They were seen walking around outside and consoling each other, and they weren't even in their pads anymore.

02:09:52 - 02:10:20 | Speaker 1:

ESPN's Ryan Clark with some comments. And so many times in this game, and in our job as well, we use the cliche. You know, I'm ready to die for this. I'm willing to give my life for this. It's time to go to war. And I think sometimes we use those things so much, we forget that part of living this dream is putting your life at risk. And tonight, you know, we got to see a side of football that is extremely ugly.

02:10:21 - 02:10:23 | Speaker 4:

And more comments from Joe Buck.

02:10:23 - 02:10:34 | Speaker 2:

You know, this went from a sports story to a news story, from a sporting event to a matter of life and death like that.

02:10:35 - 02:10:47 | Speaker 4:

We'll continue to update you throughout the morning on Hamlin's Condition. In Other Dirty Today, Prince Harry seems ready to reconcile with his family. This is from a teaser for his upcoming interview with ITV1. Never needed to be this way.

02:10:47 - 02:11:01 | Speaker 7:

The leaking and the planting, I want a family, not an institution. They feel as though it's better to keep us somehow as the villains. They've shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile. I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back.

02:11:01 - 02:11:06 | Speaker 4:

That interview is going to air Sunday. He will also sit down with Anderson Cooper for an interview on 60 Minutes.

02:11:06 - 02:11:13 | Speaker 3:

I thought that there was something that came out when we were on break that said that William will not ever reconcile.

02:11:13 - 02:11:15 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I mean, there was a lot of that. Yeah. Yeah.

02:11:15 - 02:11:21 | Speaker 6:

Because William's a terrible, terrible human being. Yeah, says the girl who's never met him before.

02:11:22 - 02:11:26 | Speaker 3:

Who's more terrible, William or Roger Goodell? Let me ask you this.

02:11:26 - 02:11:26 | Speaker 6:

Ooh!

02:11:27 - 02:11:30 | Speaker 3:

I got your choice. You got to pick only one. Which one's the most terrible?

02:11:30 - 02:12:07 | Speaker 6:

Well, it's hard to say, because if you want me to get really nerdy, I think, like, Roger Goodell really doesn't care about his players, but I also don't think William, like, cares about his country and his people, so weird. Think about this at the end of the show. Yeah, can I get nerdy really quick about this ITV thing? It was so specifically picked for him to do this interview with that British interviewer because they did so many things for William and Kate, like their engagement interview and stuff like that. So they intentionally picked somebody where they couldn't say that it was a biased interview. They did so much research into this. It's going to be very, very interesting. And his book comes out next week. I want to read it so bad.

02:12:07 - 02:13:05 | Speaker 4:

I do too. I do too. Okay, some yucky news and then some happy news. And then we'll end the dirty. Avenger star Jeremy Renner, also in the hospital this morning after suffering blunt chest trauma following a really bad accident that happened on New Year's Day. He was using this plowing machine called a snowcat, and it accidentally ran over one of his legs. So he was just bleeding profusely out of his leg. Thank goodness his neighbor was nearby, and his neighbor also happens to be a doctor. Ran over, put a tourniquet on Jeremy's leg to help stop the bleeding until first responders and a helicopter arrived to airlift him to the hospital. He did have surgery yesterday, and the update is he remains in the ICU in critical but stable condition. And model Ireland Baldwin, daughter of Alec Baldwin and actress Kim Basinger, is pregnant with her first child. She shared that happy noose and a sonogram image on Instagram over the weekend. So Alec Baldwin going to be a grandpa. For all of today's Dirty, check out the Dirty page on MojoInTheMorning.com.

02:13:05 - 02:13:10 | Speaker 1:

This is the home of the Dirty on the 30. Fox Cams and War of the Roses.

02:13:10 - 02:13:33 | Speaker 5:

Mojo in the Morning. This has been, by the way, one of the more fun shows

02:13:33 - 02:14:41 | Speaker 3:

because it's just been weird. And it's, I think, interesting because I just literally got out of the bathroom just a second ago, and I know this is going to sound weird, but you guys know when you're on vacation, you can't go to the bathroom in regularity. Like we talked about our sleep patterns, but our, our going to the bathroom patterns kind of change a little bit. Don't they? Like from the normal times, like we are so focused timing wise, like we always do the phone scams, you know, it's six 50, seven 50, nine 50, war of the roses, seven o'clock, you know, nine o'clock stuff like that or even our our going to the bathroom becomes that way it's true it's very scheduled but today because of we're you know been a little off kilter and stuff and i know you know god how many times has uh reese been to starbucks using up those gift cards by the way reese how many gift cards do you have stepped he stepped out of the room he's i'll get him get yell at reese and tell reese to come back in and megan how many red bull did you have today? Wait, what was that? How many Starbucks gift cards do you have left from my gift that I

02:14:41 - 02:14:52 | Speaker 1:

gave you? Oh, I have approximately, I think two. Oh, wow. Do you go every day? I've been living off of it. Yeah. There must have been like 25 gift cards in that pack. Can I tell you how much

02:14:52 - 02:14:59 | Speaker 3:

money, do you know how much money was in those gift cards? Yeah, you hooked it up. Do you want to know if you can guess to the nearest dollar.

02:15:00 - 02:15:02 | Speaker 2:

Without going over, I might even buy you one more.

02:15:02 - 02:15:04 | Speaker 4:

Ooh, like total out of all the gift cards?

02:15:04 - 02:15:07 | Speaker 2:

Yes. How much money in gift cards did I buy you?

02:15:07 - 02:15:08 | Speaker 4:

There was $300.

02:15:08 - 02:15:09 | Speaker 2:

Exactly. Wow.

02:15:10 - 02:15:14 | Speaker 4:

Ding, ding, ding, ding. Yeah, that was awesome. Thank you so much for that.

02:15:14 - 02:15:27 | Speaker 2:

$300. You burned through all that. So wait, $300 in Starbucks gift cards, and how much money in Starbucks gift cards do you have left right now? I want to say approximately $30. Holy cow.

02:15:27 - 02:15:28 | Speaker 3:

Shut up.

02:15:28 - 02:15:29 | Speaker 4:

I have been living my best life.

02:15:29 - 02:15:31 | Speaker 3:

Did you eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

02:15:31 - 02:15:34 | Speaker 4:

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, whatever you got.

02:15:35 - 02:15:56 | Speaker 2:

This is the thing with Starbucks. I believe that they take you. Because I put money on my app, and I'll throw in like $50 on the app. And next thing I know, I look up there, and my app says that I'm down to like $7.35. And I think that they honestly, overnight, some just disappear. And you just don't even realize that they're going somewhere.

02:15:56 - 02:16:26 | Speaker 3:

And then did that damn game suck you guys in? The Starbucks for Life game over the past? No, I don't even know about that. No, I'm the only dummy that was playing that game every day, shaking the snow globe on my app. Oh, I freaking love that game. Okay, so did I. It was garbage. I didn't win a dang thing. Does it cost you money to play it? No, you just like accumulate shakes of the snow globe and you could win like Starbucks for life or gift cards. Did you have to buy Starbucks to get shakes? You could get more shakes that way or you just got to shake a day.

02:16:27 - 02:16:28 | Speaker 2:

You know what I think?

02:16:28 - 02:16:30 | Speaker 5:

Starbucks, how dare you

02:16:30 - 02:17:00 | Speaker 2:

I realize with gift cards and did you guys get a lot of them over the holidays but you know who should have gift cards the betting apps and maybe they do and I just don't know about it but like BetMGM or DraftKings or FanDuel or BetRivers, they need to have those because I would actually be kind of interested in that I'd be like Reese, you'd give me a $300 gift card and I'd probably be down to nothing at this time.

02:17:00 - 02:17:03 | Speaker 4:

But it'd feel better because you're gambling with somebody else's money.

02:17:04 - 02:17:12 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. I don't know. It's kind of cool. It's a great idea. What's the craziest place that has gift cards? Can you call us up and tell us?

02:17:12 - 02:17:13 | Speaker 4:

Do the strip clubs have them?

02:17:14 - 02:17:15 | Speaker 2:

I wonder.

02:17:15 - 02:17:15 | Speaker 4:

No.

02:17:16 - 02:17:23 | Speaker 2:

Megan, they've got to. They're the smartest people ever. I know the weed shops do. I know the dispensaries do.

02:17:24 - 02:17:26 | Speaker 1:

How come nobody got me one of those?

02:17:26 - 02:17:52 | Speaker 2:

Well, you can, so the gift card, first off, by the way, I tried to sneak, is this bad? I tried to sneak my 17-year-old son into the greenhouse the other day. I was going to pick up an order, and he said to me, he goes, Dad, he goes, what does it look like in there? And I said, well, come on in, but you can't touch anything. And it was weird, because you know what it reminded me of? When my dad took me behind the beaded walls of the video store porn room for the first time.

02:17:52 - 02:17:55 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God, your dad. He did.

02:17:56 - 02:18:06 | Speaker 2:

My dad was, I asked him, I said, what is it like there? And he goes, well, son, let's go. We're going to take a look. And I looked at it and I'll never forget. It was like, it was like Pinky's, Pinky's push out was like the movie.

02:18:07 - 02:18:09 | Speaker 3:

Did he let you pick out a video?

02:18:09 - 02:18:29 | Speaker 2:

No, he, he wasn't buying anything. He just said, well, here, I'll tell you. So you, cause I would always kind of like peek by there and wait for somebody to walk out so I could look in back in the days when, you know, I was younger. This is going to sound like a story. Here, son, let me tell you the story. Back in the days when I was younger, I had to look through squiggly lines to see a nipple. You know? Yeah.

02:18:29 - 02:18:29 | Speaker 5:

Right.

02:18:30 - 02:18:50 | Speaker 2:

So that was the thing. So my dad took me back there just to kind of get my mind off. And then said, you don't need that stuff. You know, one day you're going to find yourself a beautiful woman. And they did the whole thing. And it's disrespectful. And he did that whole thing. And look what it did to me now. So do we have gift card possibilities?

02:18:50 - 02:18:54 | Speaker 3:

Well, a lot of people are saying DraftKings, BetMGM has gift cards. They do.

02:18:55 - 02:19:00 | Speaker 2:

Wow. I got a lot of Michigan lottery scratch-offs from people, too.

02:19:00 - 02:19:00 | Speaker 3:

I did two out of $25.

02:19:01 - 02:19:01 | Speaker 2:

Did you?

02:19:01 - 02:19:04 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, that was big. I mean, I usually win like $2.

02:19:05 - 02:19:12 | Speaker 2:

So that was big. Hold on a second here. Kaylee wants to comment. What's up, Kaylee?

02:19:13 - 02:19:14 | Speaker 1:

Hi, good morning.

02:19:14 - 02:19:15 | Speaker 2:

Good morning. What's happening?

02:19:16 - 02:19:36 | Speaker 1:

So I just wanted to comment on the Starbucks game that you had mentioned earlier. I think that is the next McDonald's Monopoly scam. I don't know what they got going on there, but I know so many people that have spent so much money and they never won anything. They didn't even get close to winning anything.

02:19:36 - 02:19:39 | Speaker 2:

So you do have to spend money in order to play that game?

02:19:39 - 02:19:47 | Speaker 3:

Well, you don't, but to get more shakes. You can buy things to get more shakes of the globe. Does that make sense?

02:19:47 - 02:19:48 | Speaker 2:

It's like points or something.

02:19:48 - 02:19:49 | Speaker 3:

Yes. Yep.

02:19:49 - 02:19:59 | Speaker 1:

okay yeah that's that's what it is yeah like and then you know i'm on tiktok so i saw a couple tiktoks and i'm like i can't believe how many people are just sitting here shaking their phone

02:20:00 - 02:20:03 | Speaker 6:

Or, you know, trying to add up these stars for a little keychain.

02:20:04 - 02:20:12 | Speaker 5:

No, I think the crappiest prize was, like, a cold brew kit. And the next crappiest prize was, like, a $100 gift card. I mean, they were, like, pretty legit.

02:20:12 - 02:20:13 | Speaker 2:

They were decent?

02:20:13 - 02:20:15 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. Those were, like, the bottom of the barrel prizes, too.

02:20:15 - 02:20:18 | Speaker 6:

Okay. But you had to, like, work really hard for that.

02:20:19 - 02:20:24 | Speaker 2:

Reese, if you used all those gift cards just to get shakes, I'm going to be upset with you.

02:20:24 - 02:20:26 | Speaker 3:

No, I mixed it up. Don't you worry.

02:20:27 - 02:20:29 | Speaker 2:

Veronica, what's going on? It's Mojo in the Morning.

02:20:30 - 02:20:31 | Speaker 1:

Hey, good morning.

02:20:31 - 02:20:32 | Speaker 2:

Good morning. What's happening?

02:20:33 - 02:20:37 | Speaker 1:

Hey, DraftKings has gift cards. I got them for my fiancé for Christmas.

02:20:38 - 02:20:39 | Speaker 4:

And did he turn it into bigger money?

02:20:41 - 02:20:41 | Speaker 1:

No.

02:20:42 - 02:20:48 | Speaker 2:

What kind of denominations can you cash out? What's the most you can buy? Can you buy a grand?

02:20:48 - 02:20:54 | Speaker 1:

I think $1,000, but I'm not 100% sure. I got him $100, and it lasted him a night.

02:20:55 - 02:21:40 | Speaker 4:

He's not a Michigan disassociated person, is he? What does that mean? The disclaimers at the end expire seven days from Michigan's gambling problem. Call 1-800-2707-117 for confidential help. So you can get yourself put on a list by the state of Michigan, this disassociated persons list that basically says, don't let me in your casino. Don't let me gamble because I have a problem. And it's there to aid people who realize they have a gambling addiction and they will help you with it. And also, you know, there's different steps to being on this list where sometimes you might not even be responsible if you get in a gambling debt if they let you in because they're supposed to check your ID and you're on the list. So if you know you have a problem, they'll help you try and not gamble. That's actually awesome.

02:21:40 - 02:22:14 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah. Hey, can we do something for Reese? Because Reese put in his topic something that I was really taken to. Did he stay in the studio? Yeah. Okay. What's up? So you put something in your topics that I was really taken to, and I want to read it right now because we're going to help this guy out because I was so happy I had you, by the way, as my secret Santa because you had said two things that I took to that really kind of made me because I always feel like you're like my surrogate son. One was that you love Starbucks. The other one was you didn't have a Christmas tree, and that's why I gave you that Starbucks Christmas tree.

02:22:14 - 02:22:22 | Speaker 3:

I love that Christmas tree, by the way. That tree is awesome, and it has a timer, so I don't even have to worry about turning it off. It just kind of turns off automatically. It's pretty cool.

02:22:23 - 02:23:07 | Speaker 2:

Here's Reese's topic. I am so broke, it's disgusting, is what it's titled. I spent so much money on Christmas gifts and whatever that I basically left myself with enough money to afford gas. Oh, this is sad. To afford gas to and from work for the next couple of weeks. I've been thinking about doing Shipt or Instacart just to get ahead and get some extra money. do i have what is this i do i have to relive my college days and start selling my plasma you sold your plasma when you're in college i used to make a killing off my plasma dude i just almost did it the other day really yeah how much money do you get for selling your plasma a lot you get my

02:23:07 - 02:23:17 | Speaker 3:

thought two two batches so if you go the first time you get like 150 but if you go the second time within the same week you can get like 250 really in total it's it's a lot of money can we

02:23:17 - 02:23:45 | Speaker 2:

do this how about this for an idea to help reese out so you don't have to go do instacart or uh shipped because honestly reese for those that don't understand this reese works until probably about one or two o'clock at the station goes home takes a nap and then is working like four or five hours in the afternoon doing uh videos and social media posts i don't want you like having another job where you're you know going to take your eye off the ball can everybody give reese the unwanted

02:23:45 - 02:23:52 | Speaker 3:

gift card they got from aunt mabel over christmas i'll take it i will happily take it so whatever

02:23:52 - 02:24:23 | Speaker 2:

gift card you got that you know i really am not going to use this thing can you send in 27675 halstead road farmington hills michigan 48321 i don't know what the zip code is can you send care of reese your unwanted gift card so that reese can actually have some you know some things to to buy over the next couple of weeks it's been used like yeah even if it has four dollars on it i'll take it i love beggars can't be choosers hold on tiffany who has gift cards

02:24:23 - 02:24:39 | Speaker 6:

so i work for a school and i get all kinds of gift cards um for the holidays from families but this year i received two 25 gift cards to the car wash oh those are good yeah i used to

02:24:39 - 02:24:59 | Speaker 2:

02:25:15 - 02:25:22 | Speaker 5:

02:25:22 - 02:25:35 | Speaker 3:

you're inside that's not good for reese yeah well true yeah needs to come with some funny money But let me ask you this question What would a stripper do If you said I would like a dance Can you swipe my gift card

02:25:35 - 02:25:36 | Speaker 4:

And where do you swipe it

02:25:36 - 02:25:40 | Speaker 5:

Or can I tip you with this car wash Gift certificate

02:25:40 - 02:26:04 | Speaker 3:

I actually kind of like this idea For Reese though because some people are like One person said I just used a Visa gift card The other day it had $100 on it I spent only $70 I'll send the rest to Reese Reese you're going to make some money on this Let's go. I'm down for it. Another one here says, Reese, do you shop at Kohl's? I've got $5.75 left on a Kohl's card.

02:26:04 - 02:26:06 | Speaker 4:

I sure do. I do now. Throw some Kohl's cash in there with it.

02:26:07 - 02:26:09 | Speaker 3:

Hey, what's up, Lisa? Hi, it's Mojo in the morning.

02:26:09 - 02:26:11 | Speaker 2:

Hi, good morning.

02:26:11 - 02:26:12 | Speaker 3:

Good morning.

02:26:12 - 02:26:21 | Speaker 2:

I want to know where Reese is selling his plasma because I sell my plasma and I'm only making $150 a week.

02:26:21 - 02:26:25 | Speaker 4:

Oh, really? I don't know what it was called, but it was in Mount Pleasant by Central.

02:26:25 - 02:26:27 | Speaker 2:

Oh, okay. I think it was Biolife.

02:26:28 - 02:26:32 | Speaker 4:

They like that college plasma. Yeah. It's also some guy named Fred.

02:26:33 - 02:26:35 | Speaker 2:

Is that what it is? I got a photo of it?

02:26:35 - 02:26:37 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's in the basement. The back of a van.

02:26:38 - 02:27:04 | Speaker 3:

Lisa, do you have any unused cards laying around, gift cards? I do not. They're all fed. They all? What do you do when it comes down to a point where you only have a limited money on there? Do you just spend the extra money yourself? because I find myself doing that where I don't leave any money left on them because I hate it. I feel like I've lost, but then I'm spending like $20 of my own money out of the deal.

02:27:04 - 02:27:12 | Speaker 2:

Yep, yep, that's what I do. I spend what's left on to the penny of the card, and then I'll spend the rest of what I have left in cash or on the credit.

02:27:13 - 02:27:25 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. All right, well, we're trying to figure out what we can do for Reese to help him along here. You know, if anybody has unwanted gift cards, again, And you can send them into the radio station and help this guy out. All right?

02:27:25 - 02:27:30 | Speaker 2:

I will. If I can get some, I will send them to Reese. All right.

02:27:30 - 02:27:32 | Speaker 3:

We love you. Take care of yourself.

02:27:32 - 02:27:35 | Speaker 2:

Love you guys, too. Have a great day. You, too. Here's one. Bye-bye.

02:27:36 - 02:27:38 | Speaker 3:

Reese, do you smoke? Because Wild Bill. Somebody just said that.

02:27:39 - 02:27:42 | Speaker 4:

Nice. Here, Bill's is on.

02:27:43 - 02:28:55 | Speaker 3:

It's too bad that we do this contest, but Reese can't participate because we all work here at the station. So it is kind of a bummer. But that's all right. Here we go. we're going to give you a chance to win some money. It's pay your bills back and I love that we do this now 13 times a day you have a chance to win. The word for this hour to win $1,000 is, what the heck is the word? I just lost it. I had it here just a second ago. Hold on. I'm working out of the Florida studios and I've got every bit of info that KP sent me. She sent me so much info. cash thanks mike cash there you are mike way to way to recover off of that ideal use spot i don't know what you're talking about um you can uh you can actually go on our website mojo in the morning dot com and entered the word cash that's c-a-s-h win a thousand dollars right now and uh you can do this 13 times a day so if you don't win now you can win later mojo in the morning show mike i felt bad for you that you were sick over the uh the holiday and i almost feel responsible that maybe I gave you that because of I got sick at Jingle Ball and you kind of were skirting all the way through.

02:28:56 - 02:29:30 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I was in and out of the Detroit studios. Every one of you were sick, and I avoided it the entire month of December. And then the day we started break, I got sick. And I was sick for that whole week, and it was one of those where I just slept and watched movies and took my temperature every day towards the end of it because right around Christmas I was supposed to go to Chicago. I was supposed to get on a train and go to Chicago and do all that. And so I was taking my temperature every day. And the second I didn't have a temperature anymore, I was getting out of the house and I was going to go see my family. And it just never happened. I never made it through Christmas. Oh, man.

02:29:30 - 02:29:38 | Speaker 5:

It's the worst. I don't know one person who hasn't gotten sick over the past couple of weeks. I mean, I just feel like so many different things are going around and they're nasty.

02:29:39 - 02:29:45 | Speaker 3:

So wait a second. So did you get to open up any gifts or did you get any gifts at all?

02:29:45 - 02:30:00 | Speaker 4:

um yeah i mean yeah i got gifts but i had to i waited till like uh after christmas to go visit family and see family and it seemed till last week like no joke every single day i was i had a thermometer in my mouth every morning and then i

02:30:00 - 02:30:03 | Speaker 2:

would go like a couple hours and see if it was gone i was like a little kid trying to get out

02:30:03 - 02:30:10 | Speaker 1:

of the house really you take the thermometer in the mouth or you do no i mean what i mean

02:30:10 - 02:30:59 | Speaker 2:

you don't have like a forehead one yeah no yeah so we do the thermometer one and then i don't think i could read that one anymore yeah the that i would uh the the kids ended up getting sick too which sucked uh my son got sick so my wife went to grab the thermometer and and check him too but she grabbed a different thermometer and I'm like I'm like what is where did you find that and she's like this is the thermometer we always use for everybody in the house so what about this one that I've been using for like a week and she goes please tell me you didn't put that thermometer in your mouth oh no that's what I put it I'm not going to put it in my armpit she's like no we used to put that in the kids butt oh my god so I probably got sick from that too so gross

02:30:59 - 02:31:21 | Speaker 1:

isn't it crazy I feel like that was like back in the day when butt thermometers were more used I think that that was like a cruel joke they played on people right even though they were never supposed to do it yeah it was kind of like yeah we're going to stick this in the butt although I will say that didn't doctors say that that was actually a more accurate read for babies yeah I don't know

02:31:21 - 02:31:36 | Speaker 2:

even today if it still is but the technology is there where I feel like we shouldn't have to use that anymore. No. No, I think they have, like you said, the forehead ones now that you can use. Yeah. We never got one of those. And I think when the kids would get sick, they would just wiggle all over the place so you couldn't get in on their armpit even.

02:31:38 - 02:31:51 | Speaker 1:

By the way, what's worse, Mike using their kid's butt thermometer or Joe using my razor or me using his toothbrush? The butt thermometer is pretty bad. I don't know. Yeah. I think the butt thermometer.

02:31:53 - 02:31:59 | Speaker 2:

It was so gross i don't why then i asked that question why are we keeping this right you still have this

02:31:59 - 02:32:15 | Speaker 1:

i thought of you with the the weather because you guys were going to do that uh take a train uh to chicago thing from grand rapids and i thought of you i thought maybe that would get canceled because i saw amtrak actually did have to cancel some of their runs yeah they ended up

02:32:15 - 02:32:30 | Speaker 2:

canceling that day anyway so it didn't matter that i was like the way it worked out i there was 20 feet or two feet of snow so i had to sit in the house anyways because there was i wasn't going to leave the house but and they canceled that train too so it ended up working out i just

02:32:30 - 02:33:23 | Speaker 1:

sucked being sick the whole time yeah the weather by the way is so like nuts that we didn't we had such a great october november even december up until the 20 or whatever it was what 23rd or something like that or 20 and then it turned so cold and we didn't get as much snow as they said we were going to get but man they were right with the blowing and the wind and everything that that was uh that was insane did you guys how many how much did you guys get on the east side of the state okay you guys got clobbered didn't you what'd you get uh probably close to like 20 inches oh my goodness oh yeah we got like six or something like that maybe it really wasn't horrible yeah yeah 20 inches of snow yeah it was bad man yeah what did you do what did you do to get rid of all that did you have to while you're sick go outside and snow blow or plow my neighbor

02:33:23 - 02:33:38 | Speaker 2:

who i'm actually watching his house now uh my neighbor came over and that's probably why he did it now that i think about it just so he could talk me into to to watch in his house he came over and plowed my driveway he's like i noticed you hadn't done it or whatever he knocked on my door and i was like we've been sick i haven't had a chance to but he plowed my whole driveway that's

02:33:38 - 02:33:46 | Speaker 1:

Wow. Isn't that sweet? Well, you got good neighbors. There's good people on the west side of the state. My neighbors would have never done that for me.

02:33:46 - 02:33:57 | Speaker 2:

Well, I've never lived in a neighborhood where they would do that for me. At first, I was a little offended. I'm like, what are you doing? Get off my driveway. I got it. And then I'm like, wait, that's kind of nice, actually. Thank you.

02:33:57 - 02:34:37 | Speaker 1:

I had that happen to me, actually, in my old neighborhood. I went and snowblowed one of our neighbor's driveways, and the lady that lived there was really upset with me for snowblowing the driveway. Well, she said that her husband was real particular, and they were an Indian family, and he did not like the idea that I was snowblowing his driveway. And I don't know if it had anything to do with the fact that I'm an idiot, and he probably thought that I would screw up his driveway, or she thought I'd screw up the driveway, or the fact that he thought that it was weird that another man was doing that. But, yeah. All right. I got to take a break. We'll be right back with more Mojo in the Morning. Shannon with the Dirty Next.

Shannon with the Dirty on the 30. It's been a busy morning with the Dirty Shannon, and what's going on?

02:35:58 - 02:36:14 | Speaker 5:

Well, Buffalo Bills safety DeMar Hamlin remains in critical condition this morning after that horrific moment during the Bills-Bengals game last night with Hamlin collapsing at the end of a play during the first quarter and requiring CPR in the middle of the field.

02:36:14 - 02:36:45 | Speaker 1:

Welcome back to Cincinnati where medical personnel have been working on Bills safety DeMar Hamlin for the last nine minutes. Hamlin made a hit. He got up, took a couple of steps and then just fell to the ground. We don't know, of course, the extent of his injuries, but the entire Bills team is out on the field right now. Several players are down on their knees. Other players are holding hands, praying. You can just see the worried looks on their faces. Waiting for more updates this morning. The Bills giving

02:36:45 - 02:37:06 | Speaker 5:

an update on Hamlin's condition late last night, saying he did go into cardiac arrest. Thankfully, his heartbeat was restored before he left the field in an ambulance, but he did lay there for 16 very long minutes. He is currently at UC Medical Center. Found this from an interview that DeMar did just a couple of weeks ago, and I know this is making its way around the internet

02:37:06 - 02:37:26 | Speaker 2:

right now. Like, I can't even describe it, but I cherish it every second that I can, you know, every second of every day. We just had our prayer, our DB prayer we do every Wednesday. Outside, he was next to me, and I just grabbed his hand a little bit harder just because, you know, You never know when, like, the last day could be that you're getting to experience something like this, you know? So I'm just, I'm cherishing it every moment I can.

02:37:26 - 02:38:42 | Speaker 5:

By the way, a fundraiser created by DeMar received millions of dollars in online donations last night as fans showed their support to him. He created this GoFundMe back in, like, around the holidays in 2020 to purchase toys for kids ahead of the holidays. And it got like under $3,000 in donations in the two-year span that he's had it from December of 2020 until December of this past year, 2022. As of this morning, that toy drive totaling more than $3.2 million. Wow, that's amazing. Isn't that incredible? More tragedy to tell you about this morning. Rally Car Driving Camp and the co-founder of DC Shoes, Ken Block, is dead at the age of 55. He was in a snowmobile accident in Utah. According to the sheriff's office there, he was riding a snowmobile yesterday afternoon on a steep slope when it suddenly upended and landed on top of him. He had been with a group, was alone at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Good morning, America anchor Robin Roberts taking a big step in her relationship with her longtime partner in 2023. during an interview that she posted to her Instagram. She told motivational speaker Gabby Bernstein that she's getting married. What are you a yes for?

02:38:43 - 02:39:09 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, you. What were we a yes for? Think about it, and I'm going to come back to you. No, no, I don't have to. I'm hesitating because I haven't said it out yet. Say it out loud. Okay, I'm saying yes to marriage. I'm saying yes to marriage. We're getting married this year. Yes, okay, beautiful. It's something we've talked about, but we had put it off. She became ill, but it was just, And it is saying yes to that in that next chapter. You're claiming it. Yes. So what I want you to do is then create... She said it. You got a yes. Thank you, sir, sir, sir, sir. Thank you, sir, sir, sir, sir. Thank you, sir, sir, sir, sir.

02:39:09 - 02:39:15 | Speaker 3:

No offense, Robin. We only care about the Amy Robach and TJ Holmes.

02:39:16 - 02:39:17 | Speaker 4:

They were in Miami over the new year.

02:39:17 - 02:39:18 | Speaker 5:

Did you see them?

02:39:18 - 02:40:00 | Speaker 3:

Well, I saw that, yes. I saw they traveled to Atlanta. They were seen butt-touching each other there, and then they went to Miami. That's right. They've been out and about. Listen, they're not, they don't care. I know that their careers may be over with at that show. Who knows if they'll bring them back. but they they're in love and they are out and about and they are showing it off and you know what uh good for them i don't know i i heard i you know you talk about robin roberts yes robin roberts they say was the catalyst for those guys not being on and she is very much not in favor of the fact that their infidelity was uh in the

02:40:00 - 02:40:03 | Speaker 1:

office place and she was the one who cornered them and said what is going on you guys better

02:40:03 - 02:40:26 | Speaker 3:

stop well in in their the person who runs abc uh news abc you know uh good morning america supposedly was kind of pressured by robin roberts saying that she didn't like this that she thinks that you know they're a morning show and she feels like they're gonna lose the wholesomeness that the show kind of had but i don't know it's interesting it's interesting uh i wonder if they'll ever bring them back.

02:40:27 - 02:41:25 | Speaker 1:

And lastly, Celine Dion fans are furious this morning that she was left off of a greatest singers of all time list. Yes. Did you hear about that? Yes. So Rolling Stone legit published its 200 greatest singers of all time list. It included Whitney Houston, Adele Beyonce, Otis Redding, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin coming in at number one. Well, Celine was absent from this list. And so fans are commenting things like they better change the name of that list to ranking the 200 greatest singers of all time after the great Celine Dion list. Rolling Stone is obviously feeling the heat here. They just tweeted, before you start scrolling and commenting, keep in mind that this is the greatest singers list, not the greatest voices list. Talent is impressive. Genius is transcendent. Doesn't even make sense.

02:41:25 - 02:41:27 | Speaker 4:

They're trying to save their face.

02:41:28 - 02:41:30 | Speaker 1:

I mean, I do agree. People are upset about that.

02:41:30 - 02:41:37 | Speaker 4:

I love their number one pick of Aretha Franklin right here from the Motor City. But that's just an oversight. They should just admit they made a mistake.

02:41:38 - 02:41:46 | Speaker 3:

I'll be upset. Were there any in the 200, though, that shouldn't have been in the 200? I didn't look at the whole list.

02:41:46 - 02:41:48 | Speaker 1:

I actually did just post the whole list.

02:41:48 - 02:41:50 | Speaker 4:

I saw Whitney Houston came in number two.

02:41:50 - 02:41:51 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

02:41:51 - 02:42:00 | Speaker 3:

Like, if they have, like, in the 200s somewhere, you know, I don't know, Drake. You know what I mean? Like, I'm going to go, wait a second, Drake's not really a singer.

02:42:00 - 02:42:20 | Speaker 4:

Well, if it's a list, was it 100 or 500? No, 200. 200? Yeah. There's obviously some people that don't deserve to be on that list. But do we think Aretha's number one? It's debatable. I would put her at top 20, but I don't know if I would put her at number one. Well, it depends. Like, are they just going for pop rock, like that Rolling Stone always covered? Because Celine Dion obviously isn't in the audience of who they would cover.

02:42:20 - 02:42:34 | Speaker 1:

No, there's a lot of you. I mean, this spans all genres. Did Dolly make the list anywhere? They have it kind of funky on here, how you have to search it. Oh, yeah. They make you watch a commercial. I'm sorry. I don't know. I always hate that.

02:42:34 - 02:42:38 | Speaker 3:

To go to the next page, you have to look at some Psy Alice commercial.

02:42:40 - 02:42:43 | Speaker 1:

All right. For all of today's Dirty, check out the Dirty page on thedryonthemorning.com.

02:42:44 - 02:42:57 | Speaker 4:

Let's go! Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30. And another world-famous phone scam is next. It's time for an official government survey. It's Mojo in the Morning Senseless Survey.

02:43:00 - 02:43:01 | Unknown:

Hello.

02:43:02 - 02:43:11 | Speaker 4:

Hello, Department of Senseless Surveys, United States Government. My name is Bob Dabalina, and I'm wondering if you have 30 seconds to answer our three short survey questions for the Census Bureau.

02:43:12 - 02:43:16 | Speaker 2:

What is it? I'm on oxygen seven days a week, and I'm in bed most of the time.

02:43:16 - 02:43:20 | Speaker 4:

Do you think that every kiss begins with K, or do you think more kisses begin with Bud Light?

02:43:21 - 02:43:23 | Speaker 2:

They're all a jewelry store.

02:43:23 - 02:43:27 | Speaker 4:

Why do you think kids today are more dramatic about losing their phone than they are about losing their virginity?

02:43:28 - 02:43:34 | Speaker 2:

I'll tell you. I don't know the answer to that, but it's world phone crazy.

02:43:34 - 02:43:36 | Speaker 4:

They love their phones, don't they?

02:43:36 - 02:43:40 | Speaker 2:

Yep, that's all I can say. They love their phones, that's all. They're going nuts with them.

02:43:40 - 02:43:44 | Speaker 4:

And would you agree that cars need a taco holder much more than they need a cup holder?

02:43:46 - 02:43:52 | Speaker 2:

People are driving down the road eating them. They've got to have a place to put them. I don't know.

02:43:52 - 02:43:56 | Speaker 4:

And when the Internet is really slow, do you ever wonder if everyone's watching porn all at once?

02:43:57 - 02:44:00 | Speaker 2:

Could be. I'm too f***ing old anyway.

02:44:00 - 02:44:08 | Speaker 4:

Oh, you get your porn the old-fashioned way, huh? The old magazines? Yeah. So be completely honest with me. Are there some days you're just not hustling?

02:44:09 - 02:44:11 | Speaker 2:

Every day I'm hustling.

02:44:13 - 02:44:19 | Speaker 4:

I bet you are. Do you think it's funny that in a brute, violent sport like boxing, the prize is called a purse?

02:44:20 - 02:44:32 | Speaker 2:

I would say so. I'm sure it wasn't Mike Tyson. The sinus is mostly... What was that? I'm sorry. Mostly with the sinus problem.

02:44:35 - 02:44:43 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Well, let me just wrap this up, then. I can tell you're a big Darth Vader fan. Are farts the jazz music of bodily functions?

02:44:44 - 02:44:51 | Speaker 2:

I'll tell you right now, I just took some milk from magnesia, and you're talking about farts.

02:44:51 - 02:44:53 | Speaker 4:

Let me hear the best fart sound you can make.

02:44:54 - 02:45:00 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I can't right now. No way. I might s*** myself. No, no, no.

02:45:00 - 02:45:06 | Speaker 3:

I told you I just took that milk of magnesia

02:45:06 - 02:45:07 | Speaker 4:

oh yeah

02:45:07 - 02:45:15 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to stomp right now he's my favorite

02:45:15 - 02:45:26 | Speaker 4:

oh when he started taking his hit of oxygen I was like I hit a gold mine senseless survey

02:45:26 - 02:46:04 | Speaker 1:

one more senseless survey Hear endless podcasts at MojoInTheMorning.com. WKQI Detroit. WSNX Muskegon Grand Rapids. WVKS Toledo. This is Mojo in the Morning. Oh, Mojo, he's amazing. Live. WKQI Detroit. WSNX Muskegon Grand Rapids. WVKS Toledo. Three great stations. One stupid show. This is Mojo in the Morning. Good morning.

02:46:04 - 02:47:28 | Speaker 2:

Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. Nice to be back on Channel 955, 104.5 SNX and KISS, the most listened to radio stations in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Toledo. It's good to have good stations that we're on. And we actually finished off 2022 with some great ratings in all the cities. It's nice. We're actually gearing up for a good 2023, unless a pandemic hits us again. Oh, I can't say that out loud. Because we were geared up for a great 2020. Our ratings, by the way, right now, if you look at our ratings, and this is actually a fact because I actually was talking to Tony Travato, the whiz kid of the Nielsen ratings, and he was telling me that our position right now in all three of our cities is right now January, starting January, is virtually what we were 2020 when we were geared up to be the number one. Nice. Yes. And then all of a sudden COVID happened, and guess what that did to us? I mean, listen, COVID obviously was tragic for what it did for people's health, but it was tragic what it did for our show's economy.

02:47:28 - 02:47:35 | Speaker 4:

Well, thank you to our listeners who obviously a lot of habits have shifted in the workplace, but they're still with us, and I love that.

02:47:35 - 02:49:59 | Speaker 2:

I love it. And the interesting thing is we were having this conversation, Tony and I were having this conversation, and don't be feeling like I'm a nerd over a holiday break. And good. I'm glad. Right. Thank you. It makes me feel good. All right. Mojo in the morning show. So the holidays were spectacular. It was so great to be able to spend time with our families and be able to do Christmas. I was blessed that my kids all came in, and we had a really good Christmas. I have to tell you that it's wild when I hear my sons tell me that this might have been one of the best Christmases that they've ever had. Wow, nice. Because they're all so different, and they're older. You know what I mean? Like, it's not like we don't have, and I do miss the times that, you know, Mike and Shannon that you guys are having with your kids. Like, I miss the fun Santa Claus-y type times, but Santa Claus still comes to our house in just different ways. Yeah, yep. Sometimes he comes more drunk after he's been in other people's homes. It's a fun Santa Claus.

02:50:00 - 02:51:21 | Speaker 1:

Chelsea and I did things a little different this year. And I'm going to tell you a story that's going to make you realize that we probably aren't going to do this ever again. We decided that instead of the go out and buy the Christmas gifts that more than likely Chelsea's going to return. She always seems to have done with some of my gifts that I bought her. I love wearing quarter. I love wearing them.

02:51:21 - 02:51:23 | Speaker 3:

Any color other than black.

02:51:23 - 02:51:26 | Speaker 1:

I even got a camo one. It's a great one. I'm wearing it today. Oh, my gosh.

02:51:26 - 02:51:27 | Speaker 3:

I'm so proud of you. Okay.

02:51:28 - 02:52:14 | Speaker 1:

And I bought some new gym shoes. Okay. So, I needed some new gym shoes. And so, I ended up buying some new shoes, which I'm obsessed with. And I've been loving them. Chelsea bought herself some sandals. And then she also needed some new sweaters. And she's on a kick of buying Amazon sweaters. The past. She goes out and buys these Amazon sweaters that cost like $19. and everybody thinks that she got them at like some really expensive store like Macy's or Nordstrom's. She ended up buying herself some workout clothes, so she needed workout clothes. And the amazing thing was at Christmas we opened up our gifts and then we were surprised for each other because we got to see exactly what the heck we bought each other, right? Yeah. Because we were doing it.

02:52:14 - 02:52:15 | Speaker 3:

I like it.

02:52:15 - 02:53:11 | Speaker 1:

But here's where the problem comes into play. The one item that we ended up deciding to buy for each other. Okay, so it was actually the one thing that we decided to go and get. I thought because we were on a very practical type of a routine that I would be very practical with my gift giving. Chelsea, she does, if you're a long-time listener of the show, you know this. She's very good at buying gifts that make me cry at Christmas time. So she does things like that. That's not very practical. My gift was very practical.

02:53:12 - 02:53:12 | Speaker 3:

What did you do?

02:53:12 - 02:53:16 | Speaker 1:

I bought Chelsea a washer and a dryer for Christmas

02:53:16 - 02:53:21 | Speaker 2:

this is the sentimental gift

02:53:21 - 02:53:37 | Speaker 1:

well our washer and dryer broke and the kids were all coming in and she was all freaked out about our washer and dryer breaking so I ended up going out and I bought her a new washer and dryer which by the way is a great washer and dryer

02:53:37 - 02:53:43 | Speaker 3:

don't try why didn't you just buy that for the house You're so proud of me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Say that again, Shannon.

02:53:43 - 02:53:47 | Speaker 1:

Spike, it got all the positive reviews. I'm going to say it one more time. Yeah, I did.

02:53:47 - 02:53:52 | Speaker 3:

Why didn't you just buy it for the house? Yep. Like, just buy it to buy it because you needed it.

02:53:52 - 02:53:54 | Speaker 1:

Because we were buying practical things.

02:53:55 - 02:54:04 | Speaker 2:

Practical is what I thought we were buying. Well, I think that the gift is ridiculous. Part of me is like, my dryer just broke too. What did you get? Like, at the same time, what did you get?

02:54:04 - 02:54:05 | Speaker 3:

Talk about that after the show.

02:54:05 - 02:54:06 | Speaker 2:

We want to roast him for a second.

02:54:06 - 02:55:04 | Speaker 1:

All right. Chelsea bought me, while I bought her a washer and dryer, Chelsea bought me a rendering of a picture of my mother from back when she was visiting my father's family in Cuba, because my dad is from Cuba, and it's her on the beach, and this is like this artist that painted this thing for her, and put it in a framed mat, and she actually had me open it up, And I noticed that on Christmas there was a spot missing where she hung it like prominently in our house. It was it was honestly it's it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever I actually shared with you guys and in the pictures that the picture that she got me. And then I also shared with you guys because I didn't take a picture of it, but I shared with you guys a picture of the wash, the GE Smart Ultra Fresh front loads. steam washer and electric dryer with sanitizing cycle. Oh.

02:55:06 - 02:55:10 | Speaker 3:

People are texting in where is the dumb mother effer drop?

02:55:11 - 02:55:16 | Speaker 1:

I'm not in studio to use the drops but I would have definitely used that. Is that why you didn't come home from Florida?

02:55:19 - 02:55:22 | Speaker 3:

So who opened their gift first?

02:55:22 - 02:55:40 | Speaker 1:

You or her? Okay so I I don't know. Hold on. KP Call Chelsea up I don't even know if KP has Chelsea's number But I sent you Chelsea's number Call Chelsea up because I don't even remember Who was the

02:55:40 - 02:55:48 | Speaker 3:

Because you know what I mean If Chelsea or if you opened Your gift first The gift that Chelsea gave to you

02:55:48 - 02:55:49 | Speaker 1:

Yes

02:55:49 - 02:55:55 | Speaker 3:

I would be in sheer panic To give her the washer and dryer And I would have stalled

02:55:55 - 02:56:10 | Speaker 1:

No can I be honest with you Then okay I know what it was chelsea opened up her gift first which by the way her opening of the gift was i didn't like bringing the washer and dryer like here like it's a washer and dryer behind like it didn't like all

02:56:10 - 02:56:15 | Speaker 3:

of a sudden you know come rolling in on a sequined jacket like rod roddy on the prices right back in

02:56:15 - 02:56:28 | Speaker 1:

the day no i i had the pictures of it and that it was being delivered and when it was getting delivered and all the rest of that stuff on there and i had that all all set up hold on a second Chelsea's on the phone. Chelsea?

02:56:29 - 02:56:30 | Speaker 2:

Yes?

02:56:30 - 02:56:37 | Speaker 1:

Sorry to wake you up, Chelsea. Chelsea, how great of a Christmas was it this year? Wasn't it amazing?

02:56:39 - 02:56:41 | Speaker 2:

It was amazing for some, yes.

02:56:43 - 02:57:04 | Speaker 1:

Chels, Shannon asked the question. She said, who opened which gift first? And I forgot for a second because then all of a sudden I remembered you opened up the gift first. And then you said to me, well, here's your gift. And you then, of course, gave me your gift to make me realize how big of an a-hole I am and how horrible I am.

02:57:06 - 02:57:10 | Speaker 2:

Well, I mean, some of us put more thought into gifts than others.

02:57:11 - 02:57:15 | Speaker 1:

I thought we were being practical this year. We were trying to be practical.

02:57:17 - 02:57:35 | Speaker 2:

And my gift was very practical. Thank you. I can spend more time in the laundry room now. Who says Merry Practical Christmas? It's a step up from the Roomba, I guess Oh, I forgot about the Roomba The Roomba

02:57:35 - 02:57:49 | Speaker 1:

Okay, so by the way, the picture of my mom is beautiful It's absolutely gorgeous But Mike's wondering if the reason that we didn't come back from Florida Is maybe one of us came back from Florida and the other one didn't But you're with me still

02:57:49 - 02:57:52 | Speaker 2:

Correct

02:57:52 - 02:57:54 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, you're still with me

02:57:54 - 02:57:54 | Speaker 2:

As of today, yes

02:57:54 - 02:58:23 | Speaker 1:

um the other thing that chelsea chelsea uh i feel bad about and for some reason this has got to be a mom thing chelsea put something in my stockings like she actually put like we had we all have stockings and i felt bad because i forgot that chelsea had a stocking that i was supposed to stuff and you didn't get anything in your stocking i never it's always my stocking

02:58:23 - 02:58:36 | Speaker 2:

And it's hanging up on, you know, I don't know what I can say on the air. It's always my stocking that's left hanging on the mantel. And everyone else, even the dogs, they all get stuff on Christmas morning.

02:58:37 - 02:58:38 | Speaker 1:

And you get nothing in your stocking?

02:58:39 - 02:58:45 | Speaker 2:

Nothing. I'm going to start stuffing it with gift cards and hats. Yes, you should.

02:58:45 - 02:58:50 | Speaker 1:

I couldn't put a washer in the stocking or the dryer in the stocking. It wouldn't fit in there.

02:58:50 - 02:58:55 | Speaker 2:

Well, you could have printed two different photos off and put one in my stocking.

02:58:58 - 02:59:10 | Speaker 3:

Don't wish for anything in your stocking, because he's going to give you, like, dish towels, toilet paper. At this rate, just things you need for your house. Toilet brush. Right. Windex.

02:59:11 - 02:59:38 | Speaker 1:

All right. Here is the topic right now. So I gave Blank a very sentimental gift, and they gave me a washer and dryer. Call us up and tell us what it was that you ended up getting at 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Quickly, though, the cash equivalent of this, that was a very expensive gift that I bought you. I just want you to know that.

02:59:39 - 02:59:39 | Speaker 3:

That doesn't work that way.

02:59:40 - 02:59:43 | Speaker 2:

I mean, you're so generous. Thank you.

02:59:44 - 02:59:46 | Speaker 1:

I love you. Thank you for that. See, she's happy.

02:59:47 - 02:59:47 | Speaker 2:

That would be nice.

02:59:49 - 02:59:56 | Speaker 1:

All right, I'm going to let you go to bed, and you go back to bed, and I will talk to you later, okay?

02:59:57 - 02:59:58 | Speaker 2:

Okay, that was good.

02:59:58 - 02:59:59 | Speaker 1:

Do you miss me?

03:00:00 - 03:00:00 | Speaker 6:

No, goodbye.

03:00:02 - 03:00:13 | Speaker 2:

She can sleep longer now because she doesn't have to rinse dishes before putting them in. Oh, no, you didn't get the dishwasher. I'm sorry. That's next birthday. You know what? Mother's Day. Valentine's Day. Yeah, Valentine's Day.

03:00:13 - 03:00:16 | Speaker 3:

So many. Elise, what's going on? It's Mojo in the Morning. Hi.

03:00:17 - 03:00:18 | Speaker 4:

Hi, how are you?

03:00:19 - 03:00:22 | Speaker 3:

Oh, Elise, I'm wonderful. Elise, you're married to a guy like me?

03:00:23 - 03:00:27 | Speaker 4:

Yes. My husband got me a power washer since I'm always cleaning. Oh.

03:00:30 - 03:00:32 | Speaker 1:

I love a power washer, but not as a Christmas gift.

03:00:33 - 03:00:37 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, it came on the front porch, and I was like, that better not be for me, and it sure was.

03:00:37 - 03:00:42 | Speaker 3:

Oh, man. What did you get him? Did you get him something nice?

03:00:43 - 03:00:48 | Speaker 4:

No. Well, we had gone in on a deep freezer together because that's what we wanted to spend our money on.

03:00:49 - 03:00:51 | Speaker 3:

By the way, put your husband in the deep freezer. Yeah.

03:00:52 - 03:00:52 | Speaker 4:

Right.

03:00:54 - 03:00:58 | Speaker 3:

Thank you, guys. Thank you. Hey, Ari, hi. It's Mojo in the morning.

03:00:58 - 03:01:00 | Speaker 6:

Hey, good morning. Happy New Year, guys.

03:01:00 - 03:01:01 | Speaker 3:

Happy New Year.

03:01:02 - 03:01:12 | Speaker 6:

So my fiance for Christmas got me the Dyson Air fan filter. I have a dishwasher and our bathroom floor renovated. Like, it got finished this week for Christmas.

03:01:13 - 03:01:19 | Speaker 2:

Is this something you discussed in advance, though, and said, listen, we need to get this house upgraded here. We need an adult Christmas?

03:01:20 - 03:01:28 | Speaker 6:

Well, okay. See, he didn't talk about it, but it was something that was in the works, and it wasn't going to be done until, like, after Valentine's Day. So he made it happen earlier for Christmas.

03:01:28 - 03:01:30 | Speaker 7:

Oh, okay. That's a good gift.

03:01:31 - 03:01:34 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, see, so I'm okay with my adult Christmas.

03:01:36 - 03:01:44 | Speaker 2:

I feel like guys still need to put one little nice sentimental thing in there, something romantic in there, even if it's small, to go with the Dyson.

03:01:44 - 03:01:45 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

03:01:45 - 03:01:46 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

03:01:46 - 03:01:47 | Speaker 4:

Okay, that's true. Yeah.

03:01:48 - 03:01:53 | Speaker 3:

Hey, take care of yourself. Cam, what's up? Hi.

03:01:54 - 03:01:55 | Speaker 5:

Hi. How are you guys?

03:01:56 - 03:02:00 | Speaker 3:

Oh, Cam, we're wonderful. We all had a great Christmas, as it sounds like, right?

03:02:00 - 03:02:01 | Speaker 6:

Yes.

03:02:02 - 03:02:02 | Speaker 3:

What did you get?

03:02:02 - 03:02:10 | Speaker 6:

Last year, I got my husband a signed drumhead of his favorite band, and I got a pillow.

03:02:13 - 03:02:14 | Speaker 7:

Was it a signed pillow?

03:02:15 - 03:02:18 | Speaker 5:

It was a really nice pillow, but I got a pillow. That's nice.

03:02:18 - 03:02:21 | Speaker 2:

Does the pillow go between the two of you in bed now to divide?

03:02:21 - 03:02:32 | Speaker 3:

Now she just gave her an idea David, what's happening, buddy? It's Mojo in the morning

03:02:32 - 03:02:39 | Speaker 8:

That's such a crappy gift, Mojo Why didn't you just get her pots and pans and some foot wash So she can walk around barefoot

03:02:39 - 03:02:44 | Speaker 3:

David You're supposed to have my back, David

03:02:44 - 03:02:48 | Speaker 8:

No way, Christmas time You gotta do something special for them Not for the house

03:02:48 - 03:03:05 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, well, let me just say this to you I did screw up this one. And you know what? It's funny because all I had was one gift to buy, which is basically the easiest thing ever when you look at it. I didn't have to buy a bunch of other gifts, and it was just one thing.

03:03:05 - 03:03:05 | Speaker 8:

Don't you have a jewelry, buddy?

03:03:06 - 03:03:16 | Speaker 3:

All your friends? Believe me, I will be calling Vince, Joe, and Fran Lucido to make up for this for future holidays. Double the washer and dryer.

03:03:17 - 03:03:17 | Speaker 1:

That's right.

03:03:19 - 03:03:21 | Speaker 3:

Thanks for the call, man. I appreciate it.

03:03:21 - 03:03:23 | Speaker 8:

Thank you. Have a good one. Hey, take care.

03:03:24 - 03:03:28 | Speaker 3:

Kayla, what's up? Hi, Kayla.

03:03:28 - 03:03:38 | Speaker 5:

I've been waiting for, like, the longest time. I'm surprised I got in. But I got a motorcycle for him, like a motorcycle cover, and he got me an engagement ring.

03:03:39 - 03:03:40 | Speaker 7:

Wow. Okay.

03:03:41 - 03:03:45 | Speaker 5:

So mine was, like, less costly.

03:03:46 - 03:03:54 | Speaker 3:

But wait a second. Honestly, is an engagement ring a good gift for Christmas? Or is that – because that's for him, too. It's part of his – him, you know.

03:03:55 - 03:04:02 | Speaker 5:

Well, I asked for a promise ring, so that's more than a promise.

03:04:02 - 03:04:12 | Speaker 3:

That's more than a promise. Yeah, because I heard this over break. I heard that people who do engagement rings for Christmas, it's a cop-out. That's a cop-out gift.

03:04:14 - 03:04:18 | Speaker 5:

Well, I wasn't expecting it, so. Oh, yeah. Okay.

03:04:18 - 03:04:24 | Speaker 2:

I agree, though, with Mojo. You do need something else too That doesn't replace all gifts on Christmas You still need to open some gifts

03:04:24 - 03:04:34 | Speaker 3:

Hey real quick I want to know what's going on here Spike and Shannon new relationships Not with each other but with others But what did we get for Christmas Did you guys get anything

Like us on Facebook, and we'll love you in real life. Click like. Mojo in the Morning.

03:06:01 - 03:06:03 | Speaker 2:

Mojo in the Morning's top trending stories.

03:06:04 - 03:06:43 | Speaker 3:

All right, just a couple of stories, and then we'll get out of here. I think, Shannon, you can relate to the first story that we have here. Five in 12 parents regret at least one, sometimes two, Christmas gifts that they slash Santa gave their kids. The biggest reasons why parents regret the gifts Number one, kids spend too much time with it Number two, it's too complicated to put together Number three, took too many batteries or cost too much after they bought the item And number four, the gift has caused a mess in their house Any of those true for you?

03:06:43 - 03:06:58 | Speaker 1:

Well, it wasn't anything that Santa brought It was something that our sweet babysitter Pam got for Smith Who is five A drum set Let me tell you How much fun That has been And he insists On keeping it In the kitchen

03:06:58 - 03:07:03 | Speaker 4:

Well I was wondering Because you didn't have On that list That Mojo Discredit Didn't say Makes excessive noise

03:07:03 - 03:07:08 | Speaker 1:

Oh my god It's so loud And he loves it And he thinks That he is Steven Tyler

03:07:08 - 03:07:12 | Speaker 3:

That's awesome Are you going to get him lessons? You should

03:07:12 - 03:07:15 | Speaker 1:

We'll see how interested He is Like after the next Couple of weeks

03:07:15 - 03:07:38 | Speaker 3:

Well that's the problem Yeah If you don't get Like so we bought Same for Luke When he was probably exactly Smith's age And he just kind of went down there Banged on him a bunch and then boom He moved on and I think we ended up giving him To somebody that worked on the show If he's got Like if you give him lessons I think he'll actually be good Like Spike's kids are kind of musical You gotta have some musical kids

03:07:38 - 03:07:48 | Speaker 4:

I felt for Mike because I saw one of his Instagram posts Over the break Assembling a Barbie truck And I was like I remember those days Of trying for 12 hours to put together

03:07:48 - 03:08:08 | Speaker 2:

the toy that santa brought can i add another one to the list too things that you could that you could get injured from or they could injure themselves from i don't know if you've played with a nerf gun lately like one of those ones that shoot the bullets uh or the little like those long darts or whatever but they hurt like how is how have they not been like in in this

03:08:08 - 03:08:13 | Speaker 3:

world of canceling and stuff how have nerf guns not been because they they are dangerous like

03:08:13 - 03:08:29 | Speaker 2:

they do hurt. They're fun. They're a lot of fun, but if you hit somebody within the first hour, there was, oh my god, he shot my face! He shot my face! And then Milo's running around shooting the cat. It's just wild how dangerous those things are. It builds

03:08:29 - 03:09:45 | Speaker 3:

character, though. Yeah, sure. When you're shooting your little brother. Cecily. Okay, this is an interesting one. You have any items around the house that you're going to return that you got? If you are returning an unwanted Christmas present do it now a study shows that the longer that you have that item the less likely you are to return it and if you still have that item by next week they say after the second week of january you're not going to return it at all that's it's funny because you always like i feel like nowadays everything's online shopping and i got like a stack of stuff that i got to bring over to the ups store fedex you know um we're a bunch of quitters uh resolutions and by the way this is one of those ones that always happens uh two in three people will give up their resolutions by january the 31st and this year's top eight new year's resolutions are exercise more eat healthier Lose weight Save more money Spend more time with family and friends Less time on social media Stress less at work And reduce monthly outgoings Those are the most popular of resolutions

03:09:45 - 03:09:47 | Speaker 1:

Reduce monthly outgoings?

03:09:47 - 03:09:48 | Speaker 3:

Well, what you're spending

03:09:48 - 03:09:56 | Speaker 1:

Oh, I was like Thank you Okay, I felt like a big idiot I didn't know what that was I was like, oh, yes, that one

03:09:56 - 03:10:29 | Speaker 4:

I saw you made a list, Mojo You know what I mean?

03:10:00 - 03:10:01 | Speaker 2:

So you made a resolutions list this year.

03:10:01 - 03:12:04 | Speaker 1:

Actually, not a resolutions list. I call it a goal. So you guys are going to, like, I know, laugh at me on this one here. I did a little reading over the break. I actually read two books. One particular book was given to me by a friend of mine, and the book was something that they told me about that I thought, oh, my God, I'm going to do because Norm, our old agent, God rest his soul, used to talk about this all the time. the book was about realistic expectations and it talked about don't make resolutions resolutions are stupid because people don't keep them make just goals and even if you just do a part of the goal you've actually achieved something in this year so i put together a list of these are the 10 goals i have for 2023 number one pray more and not just when i or others need them because that seems like it's the only time i ever pray is when you know somebody if i find out has you know a big test you know a medical test or they get a cancer or whatever i'm starting to pray more for them i gotta pray more just daily you know on the regular number two spend more time with chelsea and important take more pictures together we never take pictures together yeah and actually chelsea never takes pictures with our kids like if i go look for pictures for her birthday i can't ever find them so i'm like forcing you know myself to make sure i'm aware of that spend less time on devices. So that includes television, exercise more. These other ones are like to try to get healthier, go on more walks, less alcohol. And I'm going to try to do a couple like more sober Octobers or dry months. And I know that there was like a study that came out that said that dry January is not a good thing to do. They said that going cold Turkey kind of screws you up a little bit i felt like doing dry october or sober october helped me out a lot it got me more focused um less sugar less meat more fish golf more including i'm gonna take lessons and then number 10 be

03:12:04 - 03:12:13 | Speaker 2:

thankful for every day man i sweat just hearing it because it's that's a lot of big goals but if even if you accomplish two of them you should be proud of yourself because they're all big ones

03:12:13 - 03:12:40 | Speaker 1:

And honestly, I figured this, even if I do like, like be thankful every day, you know, three out of the seven days a week, you know, sometimes I don't sit there and I think about how lucky we all are, you know, that we have great families, we have great friends, we have a great job, we get great people that we get to work with. And honestly, I feel like I take that for granted. And, you know, and then the year flies by.

03:12:40 - 03:12:51 | Speaker 3:

I have a quote on my mirror, and I know you guys make fun of me for all my quotes, but it has to do with that. And it says, the root of joy is gratefulness. It is not joy that makes us grateful. It is gratitude that makes us joyful.

03:12:52 - 03:12:55 | Speaker 2:

Wow. I like that. It's a good one. Is that Dr. Seuss' quote?

03:12:55 - 03:12:59 | Speaker 3:

It is not Dr. Seuss. Couldn't even tell you who it was, but it's on my mirror.

03:13:00 - 03:13:10 | Speaker 1:

And the annual list of words that should be banished from our vocabularies came out from Lake Superior State University. Where is Lake Superior State? Is it up in the U.P.?

03:13:10 - 03:13:13 | Speaker 2:

St. Marie, yeah, right up in the UP connecting to Canada.

03:13:13 - 03:13:16 | Speaker 1:

Those poor bastards must be freezing all the time.

03:13:16 - 03:13:23 | Speaker 2:

It is a lifestyle. If your son or daughter says they want to go up there, it means they don't like you very much and they need to spend some time apart.

03:13:23 - 03:14:59 | Speaker 1:

Here are the words that they say are either misused, overused, or useless. Number one, goat, greatest of all time, used too much. Obviously, we talk about the goat being people like what Tom Brady is the goat. Number two, inflection point. That's a word that should be banished. Number three, quiet quitting. Number four is one I feel like we use a lot in our show, gaslighting. That's used a lot. Number five, moving forward. Number six, this is another one we use a lot, amazing. Number seven, does that make sense? Number eight Irregardless Remember we did a big battle about that Number nine Absolutely That's another one that I feel like is used a lot And number ten It is what it is Those are the ten things that should be banished You can pry those out of my cold dead hands By the way that's number eleven I always wonder by the way With these list of words That should be banished And they come up with, remember, they also have like the, we did the list of words that were most used or maybe most misused. Like, I always think when I hear those, it makes me like anxious because I find myself trying not to say those words. So then I talk like jumbled. You think the more you try not to use it, the more you think about it.

03:15:00 - 03:15:05 | Speaker 5:

You're the GOAT, Mojo. Thank you. By the way, that's the first show down for the year.

03:15:05 - 03:15:06 | Speaker 1:

03:15:07 - 03:15:45 | Speaker 5:

364 live. I don't even know how many shows we do live. We should count that one day just to see how many we do live. Because there's so many shows that we actually don't do live. We just take off and post, right? Replay that thing a couple of months. No, I'm just kidding. Somebody actually, you know what pisses me off when we do a whole show? We get a whole show down, we got done, and somebody's been texting us. When do you guys come back from vacation? No. Yeah. No, we've got a few of those. Thanks for tuning in. We could have been on vacation one more day. All right. Back tomorrow. We will see you guys. Have a great one. Keep it on. We're going to pay your bills. More chances for you to win coming up.

03:15:46 - 03:15:51 | Speaker 4:
