This is Mojo in the Morning Mojo

00:02:15 - 00:02:21 | Speaker 4:

Mojo This show's up And the Rockets red glare

00:02:21 - 00:02:25 | Speaker 3:

You're not being logical is what I'm saying

00:02:25 - 00:02:28 | Speaker 7:

This is like an orgasm in a cup.

00:02:33 - 00:03:25 | Unknown:

Showtime. We'll be right back.

00:03:25 - 00:03:42 | Speaker 4:

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful. Record-breaking storm comes today! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

00:03:42 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 9:

Good morning. Welcome to the Mojo of the Morning Show. They're laughing at us right now in Grand Rapids. I can hear Michael right now. Oh, is it snow, guys? You guys wanted that snow that we always get. This ain't lake effect snow. This is some big, I don't know, BS snow. I don't know what it is, but snow has started in Detroit. Word of warning to our KISS listeners in Toledo. It's coming your way.

00:04:13 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 6:

It's coming the end. Yeah!

00:04:16 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 9:

I know. She's so excited. Why do you get so excited over stuff like this? We have to work.

00:04:21 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 6:

You want to know why? Because I know today I'm going to curl up with a hot cup of coffee and a good book and put myself in a giant comforter and just feel cozy.

00:04:36 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 9:

You did that on Monday. There was no snow.

00:04:39 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 3:

I did. Yeah, you don't need snow for that.

00:04:41 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 5:

But the aesthetic wasn't there. True. And this is all about the Instagram aesthetic.

00:04:46 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 3:

Because I love the Sunday snow we had. It was like, you know, you get a chance to relax, slow down. There's nowhere to go. Nobody's got to be out on the dangerous streets.

00:04:55 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

To be fair, it will be nice to finally see my Christmas decorations in the snow.

00:05:00 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 1:

all right so here's the the story as far as snow goes the totals are actually going up right now they at first were talking like four to eight inches of snow now they're saying like four to possibly 12 and they're doing a snow emergency and it was that it was just going to be like all everybody down you know river and towards the toledo the high ohio michigan border that you guys were gonna get affected big time by this but it looks like it's gonna get pretty bad everywhere

00:05:31 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 3:

and it arrived a little earlier than anticipated so when i was watching the coverage yesterday i'm like all right they're gonna overblow this we'll get the minimal amount that you know they get excited this is finally the big snow and then this morning when i came out and the streets were already completely covered i thought wait a minute they said around 7 8 a.m for oakland county it's already it's already covered us so and it's slippery yeah it's slippery yeah be careful and

00:05:55 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 1:

And it's going to get even worse because the temperatures are going to drop pretty drastically into the 20s. But it's funny. They gave us this warning for days, and I thought it was a bunch of BS. I kind of like laughed it off, and here it is. And then, you know, we'll officially get it. And we can't complain, can we, even though?

00:06:14 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 3:

No, we've been doing okay this year. There's another one coming this weekend, they said. Another big snowstorm they're looking at.

00:06:20 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 1:

My favorite are the people that overly prepare, though, for the storm. Even though I think that you should be prepared You don't have to over People go to the grocery store And they shop like they're feeding A Thanksgiving meal to their family members

00:06:35 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 3:

But I think people use it as an excuse To just like buy junk food And gorge themselves Because it's like you're buying stuff That you don't normally buy It's like yeah

00:06:47 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 1:

We're going to be locked in our houses for days I need flaming hot Cheetos

00:06:51 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 2:

Shut up Sometimes that's the only joy we find in life. Leave us alone. You know what? Speaking of warnings, I have known that my car cannot drive for, like, over a week. I talked about getting my tires replaced. Still bald. KP. You can't go home today. I changed my appointment, so I had an appointment set up for Friday to get new tires, and I changed it to today, which is cutting it very close because the snow has already started. So by the time I leave work, which I'm planning on leaving a little bit early, it's going to take me so long to get to my appointment. Are you going with her to help her with her tires?

00:07:30 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 3:

I just got to make sure she's okay.

00:07:34 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 2:

It's going to take me very long to get there because I'm going to be driving five miles per hour. My car cannot drive in the snow right now. I tested it the other day. I almost slid into a pole. So I have got to drive slow. And also, why does it take this long for me to do anything in life? Why do I need something life-threatening before I decide to go to an appointment?

00:07:57 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 3:

You know the tire guys are going to be rolling their eyes at you. They are. They're like, oh, sorry, let's rush for your emergency. You didn't know you had a tire problem.

00:08:04 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 2:

It's Mojo's tire guys, so I feel like— Are you going to him? Yeah, I am. He's great. He is great. Bell Tire Brandon. Speaking of rolling your eyes, it's always the oil change guys roll their eyes at me. They pull out that little stick, and I'm like, oh, good for you. And they're like, why is your oil Why is it so low? And I'm like, because it's me I'm the problem, it's me

00:08:22 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 3:

Oh my gosh, I have that story By the way All the senators who thought they were cool yesterday Quoting Taylor Swift And the ticket master hearings It's too good

00:08:33 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 1:

Alright, so here's the thing If you are out on the roads, call us Tell us how things are going Let's do a little check in right now In 844-MOJO-LIVE 844-665-6548. The other thing I want to know is, what is your go-to to buy at the store? Because Shannon and I joked about the Flaming Hot Cheetos and stuff like that. But I have friends of mine that go in. It's like they're going camping. They buy these.

00:09:00 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 3:

Loaves of bread and milk. I'm like, you don't even drink milk.

00:09:03 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 1:

And then the problem is, they're either throwing stuff away or they're force-feeding their family like ham sandwiches for days. So, you know, what's funny is that, like, DoorDash is obviously our go-to for a lot of stuff. Like, we'll go get DoorDash. Like, today's not a day you can DoorDash because, A, it's going to be like a bajillion dollars. They'll probably upcharge you like a ton of it.

00:09:26 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 3:

But also don't put those people in danger.

00:09:27 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Well, and there's also less people. Yeah. Some people don't do it. Luke has his DoorDash account. And there have been times where, what is it? Oh, back when we were off. Remember the holiday, really cold, and then we got that bad snow? I turned his DoorDash on because I went and drove myself to Starbucks to go get Starbucks. And the Starbucks guy that was at the location I go to on Telegraph said, yeah, I'm leaving work early and I'm going to go DoorDash. And I said, really, why is that? He goes, they're giving him $25 minimums for orders.

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 4:

So he was going to make more money DoorDash and then doing the Star Wars thing. So I was like, I'm going to take Luke's DoorDash.

00:10:06 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Let me give you a bit of nostalgia because it's just us old heads listening this morning because all the kids are sleeping in there off school. Remember you'd go to Blockbuster on a snow day, before the snow day, and you'd load up with like eight movies. We only had one day off of school, but you'd be like, we're going to rent ten movies and watch them all.

00:10:25 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 4:

I used to love that, having like all, and you'd go, you would. You would go one after another putting them in.

00:10:33 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 1:

Lucy did all of the things last night. The spoon under the pillow. She put a white crayon in the fridge or something. Pajamas inside out. Yeah, she's like doing all these things. And I said, Lucy, honey, I don't think the snow is coming until later in the day. And, of course, she doesn't have school, so it works. She's going to be so excited.

00:10:51 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 4:

Kathy, what's happening? Give us an update on the roads.

00:10:54 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 7:

Hi, Mojo. It's Kathy. See, I'm on I-75 right by University Drive, and I'm going 41 miles an hour. It's snow-covered, slippery, but the semis like to go a little faster than me.

00:11:06 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 4:

Doesn't that scare the crap out of you? What kind of car do you drive, Kath?

00:11:09 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 7:

I have a Malibu.

00:11:11 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's the worst, isn't it? Especially in that area where there are millions of semis going back and forth, and they're going so fast that you're afraid that you're going to get blown off the road.

00:11:24 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 7:

Absolutely, absolutely. I just had one. I was going, I popped it up to about 50, and I think he went by at about 65.

00:11:31 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 4:

Wow. That's crazy. Be safe, okay?

00:11:33 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 3:

You have to end your report. I'm Kathy reporting for Mojo in the Morning from the streets.

00:11:39 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 7:

I'm Kathy reporting for Mojo in the Live on the streets. That's right. That was good.

00:11:43 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 4:

That was good, Kathy. Thank you. Brandon.

00:11:47 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 2:

Hey, Mojo. I took from Oxford this morning all the way down to Oak Park, 20 miles an hour. I had to take my charger because my Jeep's in the shop, so I'm on summertime.

00:11:58 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 4:

Wait, you're driving a charger in this?

00:12:02 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 2:

Yes, my rear-wheel drive charger because my Jeep's in the shop.

00:12:05 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 4:

That's basically a sled. I just want you to know. You're in a toboggan right now.

00:12:12 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 2:

Yes, it is very, very fun. 20 miles the whole way. It took me an hour and a half to get to work.

00:12:17 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. Well, be safe.

00:12:18 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, be slow. Even I drove slow this morning. I never drive slow.

00:12:22 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 4:

I thought that you were behind me because there was somebody driving a Kia that was exact color, everything of your car, and I thought you were driving directly behind me, so I was kind of, like, messing around with the person. It wasn't me. And it turns out it was a lady driving there, and I felt bad for her. So what's happening, Mojo in the morning? Hi. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I lost your name in the action. Darian, what's going on? Darian in Ohio, do we have any snow coming down yet?

00:12:49 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 6:

I have no snow. Yeah It's coming Hopefully it holds off until I can get off work

00:12:57 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 4:

Yeah Are you a third shifter?

00:13:01 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 6:

No, actually I'm on day shift right now Until I get off at 3pm

00:13:04 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 4:

Oh no, it's not holding off Get ready my friend

00:13:08 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 6:

I'm a relief physician So I really can't show up because of a level 3 I have to stay at work Hopefully it'll hold off Do you think we're going to hit

00:13:17 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 5:

I don't know, but I think we're going to hit a level 3 just because of how fast it's going to fall.

00:13:23 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, well, it looks like Northwest Ohio is going to get hammered the hardest.

00:13:26 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 4:

I still have to have Megan give me the Cliff Notes versions of that, like the different levels of that.

00:13:31 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 5:

I can do it real fast.

00:13:32 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, for everybody that's in Michigan that does it normally and just says it's bad.

00:13:38 - 00:14:13 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, so we have three levels. Is this a game in Michigan? No, they don't have them. Level one is just kind of like, hey, the roads are pretty dangerous right now. Drive a little bit more cautiously than you normally would. Level two is there's a lot of accidents right now. Don't call the cops unless there's an injury in an accident. Other than that, exchange information. Roads are really bad. Really take your time. It's bad out there. Level three, if you're not an emergency responder, you are not allowed on the roads. You will get ticketed. You will get pulled over. Do not get on the roads unless you absolutely have to.

00:14:13 - 00:14:19 | Speaker 4:

Can you imagine if they said that to Michiganders? We would all be ticketed and pulled over.

00:14:19 - 00:14:27 | Speaker 5:

And every time there's a level three, I get pulled over. Every single time. They do not joke around when it comes to that. So don't go on the roads unless you absolutely have to.

00:14:28 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 4:

You guys treat snow like people treat hurricanes. You got, like, different numbers and stuff with them.

00:14:34 - 00:14:46 | Speaker 3:

Michigan, we're like, level one's just a blue light. We just got a cheap, watery beer. Level two, we're going up to tequila. Now you really got to take care of some serious. Level three is the hard stuff. That's where you really got to be careful.

00:14:47 - 00:14:51 | Speaker 5:

I think it really does help the emergency services, though. I think that's why they do it.

00:14:51 - 00:14:56 | Speaker 4:

In my brain, though, the higher the level, the bigger the challenge. It's like a game, like level five.

00:14:57 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 5:

You'll lose the game. You'll get a ticket.

00:14:58 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 4:

You know what's wild, though?

00:15:00 - 00:15:06 | Speaker 5:

that if it does come to level three, you can't leave the station to go home into that nice little couch of yours.

00:15:07 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 2:

So are you ready for this? Technically, I am allowed to drive in a level three. Why? Because we're an emergency service. Oh, good. So technically, I am allowed on the roads. But I will get stuck here having to work all night. I actually packed a bag because I am pretty sure I'm probably going to be stuck here all day and I'll probably just stay at my dad's apartment tonight.

00:15:29 - 00:15:33 | Speaker 5:

I like that they call us emergency services.

00:15:33 - 00:15:35 | Speaker 6:

Well, they do make us come in to tell everybody else to stay home.

00:15:36 - 00:15:39 | Speaker 2:

It happens when the power goes out. People turn on us.

00:15:39 - 00:15:43 | Speaker 5:

Jesse, you may be the only person I've ever heard say this. What is it, Jesse?

00:15:44 - 00:15:49 | Speaker 7:

I love the snow. I love driving through the snow. I don't know, something about it. I lived in Minnesota for a long time.

00:15:49 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 5:

Oh, so you're very used to it. See, I would think that that would make you hate the snow.

00:15:53 - 00:15:58 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, kind of, but I like driving it. You know, I don't know. I don't get scared or anything.

00:15:59 - 00:16:02 | Speaker 5:

What do you drive? You must have like a truck with a big old...

00:16:02 - 00:16:04 | Speaker 7:

No, I got a Nissan. I got a Nissan Rogue.

00:16:04 - 00:16:19 | Speaker 5:

Oh, wow. You know, sometimes those are the best. Sometimes those, you know, like Chevy Equinoxes and, you know, Nissan Rogues and stuff like that, those are like the better cars to drive than the big old SUVs that are probably sliding around out there.

00:16:19 - 00:16:23 | Speaker 7:

It doesn't slip. You know, I'm never slipping on it. Not so far, at least.

00:16:24 - 00:16:26 | Speaker 5:

Shannon's mom Buick is the...

00:16:26 - 00:16:39 | Speaker 3:

It's not a mom Buick. I think it's a cool mom Buick. It is very cool. It's very cool. Okay? By the way, I'm looking at the traffic screen here in Detroit, and there are so many accidents. So please, please, please be careful. Let's get to traffic. No good levels?

00:16:40 - 00:16:43 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. We'll get to a contest, and then we'll come right back.

00:16:44 - 00:16:51 | Speaker 6:

How smart are you? It's Mojo in the mornings back in the day. We have to go back in time. Where we give you a bunch of events, and you tell us what year it happened.

00:16:52 - 00:16:59 | Speaker 5:

Actress Laverne Cox became the first transgendered person to appear on the cover of Time magazine this year.

00:16:59 - 00:17:10 | Speaker 4:

I got a letter from a 12-year-old who identifies as a boy but loves to dress in girls' clothes. He wrote me and said that my mom gave me a copy of the Time magazine that you're on the cover of.

00:17:10 - 00:17:14 | Speaker 5:

We joked yesterday about this, but remember when John Travolta said this?

00:17:15 - 00:17:20 | Speaker 1:

Please welcome the wickedly talented one and only Adele Dazine.

00:17:20 - 00:17:31 | Speaker 5:

It happened at the Oscars? And Chris Brown's Loyal was the big song on the radio. What year was it? We'll set you up with a prize. Good luck. Be safe. Here we go.

00:17:31 - 00:17:37 | Speaker 6:

You talk a big game in the car. Now prove how smart you are. Tell us the year this stuff happened. At 844-MOJO-LIVE.

00:17:37 - 00:17:40 | Speaker 4:

844-665-6548.

00:17:42 - 00:17:54 | Speaker 6:

If you like this weather, come on over here so I can give you a face wash. This is Mojo in the Morning. It's Mojo in the Morning's Back in the Day. Let's go! Back in the day. What year did this stuff happen?

00:17:55 - 00:18:10 | Speaker 4:

It was the year that Laverne Cox was on Time Magazine. I got a letter from a 12-year-old who identifies as a boy but loves to dress in girls' clothes. He wrote me and said that my mom gave me a copy of the Time Magazine that you're on the cover of.

00:18:11 - 00:18:15 | Speaker 5:

John Travolta gave us one of the funniest clips of all time.

00:18:15 - 00:18:20 | Speaker 1:

Please welcome the wickedly talented one and only Adele Dazine.

00:18:21 - 00:18:26 | Speaker 5:

And Loyal was the big song from Chris Brown on the radio. Jill, what year was that?

00:18:27 - 00:18:28 | Speaker 4:

2014.

00:18:28 - 00:18:30 | Speaker 5:

It was. Congratulations.

00:18:31 - 00:18:31 | Speaker 4:

Thank you.

00:18:31 - 00:18:41 | Speaker 5:

We're going to set you up with the prize. Hang on the phone, and we'll get some information from you. We'll set you up with the gift card, Tubby Sub Shop. How's the weather? I know you're in Ohio right now. Any flurries yet?

00:18:42 - 00:18:48 | Speaker 7:

It's kind of snowing. I'm in Toledo. When you go towards the north, it's starting to get a little heavier.

00:18:48 - 00:19:26 | Speaker 5:

You can kind of see it probably in the sky, too. Yep. We will keep everybody up to date on the weather in Detroit and Toledo areas. We're going to do a contest right now for Taylor Swift tickets. Text to win SWIFT right now to 95500. And you could be going to see Taylor Swift in concert. And the only thing you'll ever have to do with Ticketmaster on this one is probably just transfer the tickets over. That would probably be it. So text SWIFT to 95500, standard text, and data rates to apply in this contest. Good luck.

00:19:27 - 00:19:29 | Speaker 6:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

00:19:30 - 00:19:36 | Speaker 5:

All right, we will get you caught up on what is trending in the Dirty on the 30 this morning. Shannon, what you got?

00:19:37 - 00:20:39 | Speaker 3:

Well, Ticketmaster blamed a cyber attack for their issues surrounding the ticket sale for Taylor Swift's upcoming Ares Tour. Joe Birchtold, president of Ticketmaster's parent company, Leibnison, said in a statement yesterday on Capitol Hill that valuable lessons were learned from that whole debacle with Swifties everywhere, incredibly upset that they couldn't buy tickets in most cases. He apologized for what he admitted was a terrible consumer experience and said, in hindsight, there are several things we could have done better. And he kind of gave a lowdown on the situation, saying we knew bots would attack. We planned accordingly. We were then hit with three times the amount of bot traffic than we had ever experienced. And for the first time in 400 verified on sales, he said the bots failed to penetrate their systems or acquire any tickets. but it slowed him down paused the sales and he just said we deeply regret how this happened and megan called it all of the senators who were making statements thought they were so funny

00:20:39 - 00:20:45 | Speaker 2:

with all of their taylor swift song references as a uh ode to taylor swift i will say we know

00:20:45 - 00:20:51 | Speaker 4:

all too well i suggest respectfully that ticketmaster ought to look in the mirror

00:20:51 - 00:21:02 | Speaker 1:

and say i'm the problem it's me one more taylor swift quote karma is a relaxing thought But aren't you envious that for you it's not? That's all I've got to say. Thank you.

00:21:03 - 00:21:27 | Speaker 2:

Can we talk about the real issue? I don't care about the bots. I don't care that the CEO is talking around like, oh, maybe I had our fault. Can we talk about how ticket prices are absolutely insane? That came up. Yeah. Why is it when I logged in for Harry Styles, some people got tickets for $100 and other people were getting not resale tickets, but tickets for $800 apiece. Right. Let's talk about that.

00:21:27 - 00:21:48 | Speaker 4:

So that came up, and actually, I will say this about Taylor Swift, and she should get credit for this. It was a very bipartisan effort there. It was probably the first time that I have ever seen in the last four years, five years, where Republicans and Democrats actually agreed on something. They all were actually in agreement and being good. It was unbelievable.

00:21:48 - 00:21:56 | Speaker 3:

There was no bad blood between us. Oh, my God. That was amazing. Wow.

00:21:58 - 00:21:58 | Speaker 4:

Very nice.

00:21:59 - 00:22:03 | Speaker 3:

Why am I doing radio? I should be on the news with all the rest of us. Make those terrible references.

00:22:03 - 00:22:08 | Speaker 4:

The news people actually have it in a teleprompter. You came up with that off the top of your ass. I know, I'm ashamed of myself.

00:22:09 - 00:22:55 | Speaker 3:

Okay, the Oscar nominations were announced yesterday morning. We did this at the end of the show, but just in case you missed it, everything, everywhere, all at once leads the way this year with 11 nominations. I did put the full list on the dirty page at MojoInTheMorning.com. Best Picture nominees, All Quiet on the Western Front, Avatar The Way of Water, The Banshees of Inishirin, Elvis, Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Fablemans, Tar, Top Gun Maverick, Triangle of Sadness, Women Talking, Women Talking, excuse me. You can see Best Actor, Best Actress on there. Lady Gaga and Rihanna earned Oscar noms in the Best Original Song category. Gaga nominated for Hold My Hand from Top Gun Maverick, while Rihanna became a first-time nominee through this song right here, Lift Me Up. Nope. Sorry.

00:22:57 - 00:23:01 | Speaker 4:

Hold on a second. Hold on. Are you ready? Hold on. Lift me up. No, I got it.

00:23:01 - 00:23:14 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, from Black Panther, Wakanda Forever. Gaga got nominated before, obviously, with Shallow. But the Oscars air March 12th with Timmy Kimmel taking on hosting duties.

00:23:15 - 00:23:18 | Speaker 2:

Everything, everywhere, all at once is so cool. I need to see it.

00:23:18 - 00:23:20 | Speaker 1:

I'm watching it tonight. So excited.

00:23:20 - 00:23:28 | Speaker 2:

Out of all of them, the only one I haven't really seen is Women Talking because I want to read the book first. I just got it. But I think that's going to sleep this year.

00:23:29 - 00:24:21 | Speaker 3:

From the Oscars to the Razzies, every year the Golden Raspberry Awards are handed out. Is it the night before the Academy Awards or the night after? I can't remember. But right around the same time. And the Golden Raspberry Awards recognize the industry's worst movies and performances. And organizers have always encouraged the nominees to, like, own your bad, you know, and show up and accept the trophy. Nobody really has except for Halle Berry. Well, some controversy this year. The movies being honored with the Razzie Nom include the Netflix movie Blonde about Marilyn Monroe, Disney's live-action Pinocchio remake with Tom Hanks that I couldn't even get through the first 20 minutes. But there's one nomination that has drawn extensive backlash this year. And it's that of 12-year-old actor Ryan Kear Armstrong, who was nominated for Worst Actress for her role opposite Zac Efron in Firestarter. She's 12.

00:24:21 - 00:24:25 | Speaker 4:

I think that's not nice. 12. Come on.

00:24:25 - 00:24:49 | Speaker 3:

A lot of people said, yeah, you can't give a child a Razzie nomination. That's mean-spirited. And even, Megan, I think you know who he is, Devin Sawa from Casper the Friendly Ghost back in the day. He was a child star himself. But he was making comments on social media and he said the Razzies are run by soulless people nominating a 12 year old F them. That child could grow to be amazing if you haven't gotten in her head.

00:24:49 - 00:24:52 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that takes the fun out of it. That becomes bullying at that point.

00:24:53 - 00:25:13 | Speaker 3:

And lastly, a lawyer for former vice president Mike Pence found classified documents at his home. in Carmel, Indiana, and has turned them over to the FBI. I saw this going around last night. It's ABC's David Muir doing an interview with Pence about this exact thing last year.

00:25:13 - 00:25:32 | Speaker 7:

Did you take any classified documents with you from the White House? I did not. Do you see any reason for anyone to take classified documents with them leaving the White House? Well, there'd be no reason to have classified documents particularly if they were in an unprotected area.

00:25:32 - 00:25:42 | Speaker 3:

Now, his attorney says he was unaware of the existence of these documents and said they were inadvertently boxed and transported to his home at the end of the last administration.

00:25:42 - 00:25:52 | Speaker 1:

We better all check our basements this weekend, see if we have any. Don't you think, though, that President Biden and former President Trump are like, yeah, look at that guy. High five! What is the greatest thing ever?

00:25:55 - 00:25:58 | Speaker 3:

00:25:58 - 00:26:03 | Speaker 6:

Good morning. Mojo in the Morning's turd. And another phone scam coming up in minutes.

00:26:04 - 00:26:14 | Speaker 1:

All right, Mojo in the Morning, keeping track of the roads. Got updates for you. 5 at 6.55 coming up here in just a little bit. Right now, let's get a scam on. We've got a senseless survey.

00:26:14 - 00:26:22 | Speaker 6:

You guys, you guys, you guys, great news. It's time for an official government survey. And when we mean official, we mean we're officially full of s**t.

00:26:22 - 00:26:24 | Speaker 1:

This country is going to s**t.

00:26:25 - 00:26:26 | Speaker 3:

You got it on Mojo.

00:26:26 - 00:26:28 | Speaker 6:

It's Mojo in the Morning's senseless survey.

00:26:29 - 00:26:35 | Speaker 5:

This is Blair. How can I help you?

00:26:35 - 00:26:41 | Speaker 4:

Well, we're doing a three-question survey of American citizens. Just wondering, which Bible verse do you most live by?

00:26:43 - 00:26:45 | Speaker 5:

Is the Golden Rule a Bible verse?

00:26:45 - 00:26:51 | Speaker 4:

It sure is, yeah. That's it. And what about where the Bible says, no Nintendo after 8 p.m.?

00:26:51 - 00:26:52 | Speaker 5:

Sure, that's always good.

00:26:52 - 00:26:57 | Speaker 4:

All right. Those people who get up early to go to the gym before work, shouldn't that be illegal?

00:26:58 - 00:26:59 | Speaker 5:

What is this about, sir?

00:27:00 - 00:27:10 | Speaker 4:

It's just like a poll we do of American citizens. Just two last quick questions for you. Okay. And how can Gatorade market that they are the preferred bottle for when you've got to pee in an emergency?

00:27:10 - 00:27:12 | Speaker 5:

Oh, I have no idea.

00:27:12 - 00:27:27 | Speaker 4:

All right. If you meet someone unmarried with no kids, do you ever wonder who they scream at? I do, actually. Do ducks practice their human faces when they take a picture? Probably. If there's ice cream trucks in the summer, shouldn't there be Starbucks trucks in the winter?

00:27:28 - 00:27:30 | Speaker 5:

I have to go, sir. I'm at work.

00:27:31 - 00:27:37 | Speaker 4:

Oh, totally understandable then. I'll just get your last answer. You think people who say sneezing is like an orgasm have never truly had an orgasm?

00:27:39 - 00:27:47 | Speaker 1:

Always gets them. I always sit there and I think to myself, all right, when's he going to get to it? And, yep, you got to it.

00:27:48 - 00:27:55 | Speaker 6:

It's Mojo in the Morning's senseless survey because we love America. It's Mojo in the Morning's 5 at 6.55.

00:27:55 - 00:28:00 | Speaker 2:

5 and 6.55, yo, 5 and 6.55, yo, now.

00:28:01 - 00:28:20 | Speaker 1:

Reigning champ in the 5 of 6.55, Kimberly going for her third win in a row. Kimberly, say hello to your challenger, Lauren. Hi, Lauren. Hi, Lauren. Lauren? Did you get covered by the snow? Lauren? Are you there?

00:28:21 - 00:28:23 | Speaker 2:

Hi, yes, I'm here. There you are. Kimberly.

00:28:24 - 00:28:27 | Speaker 1:

That's all right. Did you have your phone muted? Are you driving right now?

00:28:28 - 00:28:31 | Speaker 7:

No, I'm not driving. I'm getting ready for work.

00:28:31 - 00:29:03 | Speaker 1:

Okay, be careful, by the way. Give yourself some extra time. It's crazy out there in the Detroit and Toledo areas. All right, here we go. I'm going to lock you up in a soundproof area, Kimberly, where you're going to begin the contest. Five questions. Whoever gets the most right wins. Ty always goes to the champion. Lauren, question number one. Actress Angela Bassett made history by becoming the first actor from a Marvel movie to be nominated for their work in one of their films. 00:29:40 - 00:29:41 | Unknown:

00:29:41 - 00:29:42 | Speaker 2:

That was a cat.

00:29:43 - 00:30:04 | Speaker 1:

Okay. Question number four. Victoria's Secret singer Jax, who is at our Jingle Ball, posted to her Instagram that she invited this How You Remind Me and Rockstar band to sing the first dance at her wedding. But instead, they showed up at her house for a personal show.

00:30:05 - 00:30:07 | Speaker 2:

Oh, God. Pass. I have no idea.

00:30:07 - 00:30:07 | Speaker 1:

No idea?

00:30:08 - 00:30:08 | Speaker 2:

No.

00:30:09 - 00:30:36 | Speaker 1:

There's going to be some fans of this band that are going to be so sad that you just said that. And question number five. Another contest is facing high ticket pricing. Oh, did I say concert or contest? Yeah. I'm sorry. It's okay. My brain's in the fog. Another concert is facing high ticket pricing, resulting in fan outrage. This Like a Virgin singer also just announced her celebration tour.

00:30:38 - 00:30:38 | Speaker 2:

Madonna.

00:30:38 - 00:30:41 | Speaker 1:

Let's bring the chant back from a soundproof area.

00:30:42 - 00:30:47 | Speaker 2:

Well, Lauren did okay, but I don't know if it's going to be enough to beat Kimberly. She got three out of five.

00:30:47 - 00:31:12 | Speaker 1:

Three out of five is what you got to beat, Kimberly. Are you ready? Yep. Actress Angela Bassett made history by becoming the first actor from a Marvel movie to be nominated for their work in one of their films. Bassett played the queen in which best picture movie? Avatar, The Way of the Water. No, Black Panther, Wakanda Forever.

00:31:12 - 00:31:13 | Speaker 2:

Lauren Leeds, one to nothing.

00:31:13 - 00:31:22 | Speaker 1:

Question number two, true or false. Frontman Brendan Urie of Panic! at the Disco said that the group will be no more.

00:31:23 - 00:31:24 | Speaker 2:

True.

00:31:24 - 00:31:41 | Speaker 1:

Yes. Two to one. Question number three. The NFL has announced the pregame lineup of acts that will be performing at the Super Bowl, including singer Chris Stapleton and songwriter Babyface. Which pop star is headlining the halftime show?

00:31:42 - 00:31:42 | Speaker 2:

00:31:43 - 00:32:05 | Speaker 1:

00:32:05 - 00:32:05 | Speaker 2:

Three to two.

00:32:06 - 00:32:10 | Speaker 1:

Would that not be a treat? I'm going to see if they'll come over to your house.

00:32:10 - 00:32:14 | Speaker 2:

Forget singing at my house. Will they shovel my driveway? Yeah. Yeah.

00:32:14 - 00:32:26 | Speaker 1:

Question number five. Another concert is facing high ticket pricing resulting in fan outrage. This Like a Virgin singer also just announced her celebration tour.

00:32:28 - 00:32:28 | Speaker 2:

Madonna.

00:32:28 - 00:32:42 | Speaker 1:

There you go. All right. Final score, four to three. Somebody needs to explain something to me. Where is the inflation issues causing people to not spend money if people are spending this much money on concert tickets?

00:32:42 - 00:32:42 | Speaker 2:

00:32:42 - 00:32:43 | Speaker 1:

Five lies to tell your mom. Oh, Mojo in the Morning show. There it is again. I feel like it's the attack of Shannon's engagement photos. I'm getting attacked by them right now on social media. I was so happy with your engagement yesterday. By the way, it could have been the most romantic engagement ever. And then yesterday in the afternoon, I was very...

00:40:00 - 00:40:28 | Speaker 2:

excited about seeing some of the pictures and the video and all the rest of that stuff. And then because I follow you, I follow Wes, I follow Mojo in the Morning, I follow Channel 955, I follow Kiss Toledo, I follow SNX and Grand Rapids. You're sick of me. I have been inundated. And then I feel like, uh-oh, I better like them all, but I've liked some of these ones already, and they think it's gotten crazy.

00:40:28 - 00:40:29 | Speaker 1:

00:41:28 - 00:41:39 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I'm not going to complain about her proposal, photos and videos. They gave us some engagement. She's not the only one that got engaged. We got engaged on social. It was. A bunch of followers.

00:41:39 - 00:41:51 | Speaker 2:

It's amazing. Can I also say the other thing that's amazing, too? How many comments I met of people who said that they pulled over because they were crying. I know. I was, I was, I'm a concerned. My favorite was from the guys.

00:41:51 - 00:41:56 | Speaker 3:

The guys who, they were like, I had to go to work in the plant. and my face was all puffy.

00:41:57 - 00:42:05 | Speaker 4:

Well, because you can hear Shannon retelling the story was amazing because it took us right back into that moment because you could hear the emotion in Shannon's voice.

00:42:05 - 00:42:25 | Speaker 2:

But I am concerned about the emotional stability of the majority of you guys, that I'm going to make sure that you're okay today, that you guys, you know, maybe need a breather or something. So today is going to be, Shannon, don't be mad at this, but remember when we used to do COVID Free Fridays where we couldn't talk COVID? Yep. So, well, actually today can't be because I got an engagement story They don't want to talk about that.

00:42:26 - 00:42:32 | Speaker 1:

You know what song we need? Adam Sandler, Love Stinks from The Wedding Singer. I love The Wedding Singer.

00:42:33 - 00:42:34 | Speaker 2:

Was that a Def Leppard song?

00:42:35 - 00:42:37 | Speaker 4:

No, it was Jay Giles Band.

00:42:37 - 00:42:46 | Speaker 2:

Was it? Yeah. Love Stinks. That was a great song. All right. I didn't even know that was a real song. I didn't either. I thought it was just from the movie. You thought it was him making it up?

00:42:47 - 00:42:49 | Speaker 4:

Big Detroit following her.

00:42:49 - 00:43:09 | Speaker 2:

Okay, so yesterday we were talking to the engagement, and I was talking to Chelsea, and she was telling me, did you hear the story about friends of ours that got engaged over the weekend? Oh, really? Yeah, and they had a not as great engagement. Remember when we did the topic yesterday of bad engagements and how bad engagement was?

00:43:09 - 00:43:12 | Speaker 3:

If you missed that topic, go back and listen to it. It's great. Very funny.

00:43:13 - 00:44:09 | Speaker 2:

So they had an almost really bad one that could have been a part of that whole deal. They got engaged and they went to, and I won't call it the restaurant because sometimes I've actually gone there to eat and it's actually a very good restaurant. It's a really good Italian restaurant here in town. And they went there because that was the place that they went on their very first date with each other. And he had set it up with the staff that he was going to propose. Have you ever had this happen to you? If you're somebody that had this happen during your engagement, call us. Their proposal kept getting interrupted. So during the proposal, the owner of the restaurant, who is a really nice guy, and he does this to every table. He doesn't just do it to random tables. So I don't know if he was knowing that they were getting engaged or if he was just randomly coming over. He comes over all the time and goes, so how are you guys doing? Is everything going okay? And he sits there. Do you ever have this where a manager comes over to you and they get really close to you and they go, everything okay? I just want to see if everything's okay, whatever. That's the guy in the suit.

00:44:09 - 00:44:14 | Speaker 4:

It was okay until you start spitting on my suit. It's kind of weird.

00:44:14 - 00:44:19 | Speaker 3:

It is so very nice until they do it like six times and you're like, I really, I really am okay.

00:44:19 - 00:44:48 | Speaker 2:

So every time that he was about to pull the ring out and get on his knee and do the whole thing and propose, the manager or the owner of this restaurant actually would come over and he would be like, and he put, and all of a sudden he said he felt the hand on the shoulder going, just want to make sure you guys are okay. Just want more water. And he kept interrupting the proposal. And I was dying laughing because it couldn't happen to a nicer couple. And then.

00:44:49 - 00:44:51 | Speaker 3:

Did they finally get engaged?

00:44:51 - 00:44:59 | Speaker 2:

Yes, they finally got engaged. And he gets down on his knee, proposes to her and says, will you marry me? And her first reaction is.

00:45:00 - 00:45:01 | Speaker 5:

You better have asked my dad.

00:45:02 - 00:45:03 | Unknown:

Or she said yes?

00:45:03 - 00:45:20 | Speaker 5:

She said yes, eventually, yes. But the yes was not the first thing out of her mouth. She was completely shocked. She thought it was because who goes and gets proposed to at, you know, and it wasn't like they all were dressed up or anything like that. It's a really nice, it's a kind of a, you can bring families to this restaurant. It's kind of a cool place.

00:45:20 - 00:46:59 | Speaker 2:

Outback Steakhouse is really nice. You know what I mean? I messaged Wes when Shannon told us a story yesterday. I was like, good job. Because when you hear the story unfold and you realize how many people were involved and to have nothing go wrong because the kids kind of were on to something soon might have been happening. He asked permission of Shannon's dad so he knew there was a whole team in Paris that knew about this and then moving parts that kept getting changed around. So much could have gone wrong so easily and the surprise could have been spoiled because he's sharing a room with Shannon. And and constantly texting all the people involved to make sure it's all still timed out perfectly at the right location. So I was like, man, that's not easy to plan that kind of surprise. And there's so much that could go wrong, like like like the manager at the restaurant coming over and messing it up. So good. Or I or my my friend had he did the old fashioned thing of asking his girl's dad's permission for her hand in marriage. and the dad was cool but he he couldn't wait until saturday night for the big plan date on a boat so he was like trying to get it all together and he thought he had it all worked out he asked the dad earlier in the week he made the plans with the boat he had the the photographer sneaking around well dad walked in their place friday night and started congratulating them because he couldn't wait to celebrate with them he ruined the surprise because the proposal was saturday night it hadn't happened yet no the dad messed up which night it was going to be so when he walked in the room the door with a bottle of champagne one day too early is his daughter was like what engagement ruined his daughter his daughter had no idea that the fiance was going to propose the next night

00:46:59 - 00:47:13 | Speaker 5:

by the way it's not an old-fashioned thing to ask the dad i think that that's nice that's yeah when you called it an old-fashioned thing i'm thinking god if we have you know anybody getting married if you don't ask the the parents or let them know ahead of time i think that that's yeah

00:47:13 - 00:47:15 | Speaker 2:

So I heard it's not as big a thing now.

00:47:15 - 00:47:19 | Speaker 3:

I don't like it. It feels like an exchanging of property. Well, it's not.

00:47:20 - 00:47:29 | Speaker 1:

I think you probably have a problem with people saying they asked dad for permission. Like Wes always said, I wanted to ask your dad for his blessing. Blessing.

00:47:30 - 00:47:38 | Speaker 5:

Listen, if somebody doesn't ask Scott Mick for your hand in marriage, they're going to get this right across the face.

00:47:38 - 00:48:02 | Speaker 2:

Because if you're afraid to ask dad, maybe you shouldn't be doing it. I said permission. I meant blessing. I only said permission because I have a daughter that's looking at engagement rings. So I know. Wow. Hold on. So he better, he better ask my permission. Yeah. Wow. No, I know they have no plans. I shouldn't say that on the air because now I'm going to get in trouble because, but they, but they're talking about, I know they've had conversations about it. So I know it's inevitable in the next year.

00:48:02 - 00:48:04 | Speaker 5:

And how do you want him to ask for your blessing?

00:48:05 - 00:48:17 | Speaker 2:

Uh, I just want him to tell me his intentions before he does it. I just want him, you know, to do the traditional thing. And if he doesn't, I'm okay with that Because I like the kid a lot And I'm very happy if they spend their lives together

00:48:17 - 00:48:20 | Speaker 4:

See, I want presents when Cecily's Boyfriend does it

00:48:20 - 00:48:25 | Speaker 2:

It's a dowry, I get three sheep and I go Yes For my daughter

00:48:25 - 00:48:28 | Speaker 3:

Literally, I'm like, this is supposed to be funny talking about

00:48:28 - 00:48:45 | Speaker 2:

No, listen, you don't have to put the feminist label on this And be like, it's too old fashioned to do anymore I think it's appropriate That you know The family is okay with this Because if you're too scared to talk to your family in advance about proposing, then maybe you shouldn't be doing it.

00:48:45 - 00:49:09 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, but not everybody is close with their families. No, I understand that. I think that, like, it's very clear I don't have a relationship with my mom. But I think it's very common for people with their dads. And so then to say, well, I'm missing out on another life experience. I'm very close with my dad. Of course I want him involved in the process. More of a blessing than a permission. Yeah. But I don't think it should feel like a requirement. It should just feel like an extra bonus if it happens.

00:49:09 - 00:49:15 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a rule for everybody. I'm talking very first-person personal about my experience with my daughters.

00:49:15 - 00:49:20 | Speaker 4:

And if Allie's parents had said no when I asked for their blessing, I still would have done it.

00:49:20 - 00:49:35 | Speaker 1:

So that happened to a very good friend of mine. He asked, and Dad said no. They didn't really like him from the beginning, truly for no reason. He's a great guy, and he still went forward with it. And everybody's fine now, but for a while it was not good.

00:49:35 - 00:49:53 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. I actually took my dad out or my father-in-law out for a very nice meal. And I did. I was totally like, and he knew it the whole time. He's like, oh, this guy's taking me here. It must be. It must be. Yeah. You know, he's asking me for something. He's not asking me for a loan for this meal.

00:49:53 - 00:49:59 | Speaker 3:

What's going on, Caitlin? Hi. Hi. Well, so my story.

00:50:00 - 00:50:19 | Speaker 5:

is my fiance is a farmer and he was working ground and that's when he wanted to pop the question and so we kept working the ground while his dad kept coming up seeing how the ground was working he interrupted us like five times and my fiance was getting like furious and shaking of

00:50:19 - 00:50:29 | Speaker 7:

course that's the longest time it was so your fiance didn't know i mean he didn't talk to the dad your dad in advance he didn't know that's what was going to happen that day no this was his dad

00:50:29 - 00:50:32 | Speaker 5:

Oh, his dad, okay. His dad had no idea.

00:50:32 - 00:50:33 | Speaker 7:

Gotcha.

00:50:33 - 00:50:34 | Speaker 5:

Oh. But, yeah.

00:50:35 - 00:50:40 | Speaker 1:

I've always wanted to know how farmers get engaged, and I just found out how a farmer. They were working ground.

00:50:41 - 00:50:44 | Speaker 5:

It's always their dream to be an attractor and ask a question.

00:50:44 - 00:50:45 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's great.

00:50:46 - 00:50:57 | Speaker 7:

And what's weird about that farm is not only did the dad keep coming over and interrupting, the manager of the restaurant kept coming over and saying, is everything okay here? Yeah, that's right. What are you doing here?

00:50:57 - 00:51:09 | Speaker 1:

What's going on? what's up susan hi how are you good what's going on we're uh we're talking about weddings here and asking permission and interrupting we've got a lot of stuff going on what's happening

00:51:09 - 00:51:32 | Speaker 3:

yeah for sure well i i this was my second marriage i met my husband on july 5th we got engaged on july 5th so we were supposed to get married on july 5th that was my understanding unfortunately july 5th was a wednesday so it was going to be like a backyard wedding in my friend's backyard Well, my husband moved the entire wedding to a winery the weekend before, and I knew nothing about it.

00:51:33 - 00:51:35 | Speaker 1:

Wow, so he surprised you with your wedding.

00:51:36 - 00:51:38 | Speaker 3:

He surprised me with my wedding.

00:51:38 - 00:51:41 | Speaker 1:

Were you happy about that or not happy?

00:51:41 - 00:52:04 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, no, I was okay with it. A surprise? I've never heard of that. Yeah, like everything that I wanted here, he just booked it up there. But it's funny because everybody that I talked to, they were really shady. They weren't excited with me. I think they were all afraid that they were going to let the cat out of the bag, right? So he brought my wedding dress. He booked for my hair and my nails. Like, he's quite amazing.

00:52:05 - 00:52:13 | Speaker 1:

You're an amazing woman because most women, even though he did all that stuff, would probably be, like, upset that they didn't know that their wedding was that day. Like, there's one thing that you don't surprise somebody with.

00:52:14 - 00:52:16 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's my second time, though.

00:52:16 - 00:52:19 | Speaker 1:

Oh, that's nice. Thank you for the call, Susan. What's up, Morgan?

00:52:20 - 00:52:21 | Speaker 4:

Hi, good morning.

00:52:21 - 00:52:23 | Speaker 1:

Good morning. What's going on?

00:52:23 - 00:52:36 | Speaker 4:

So my mom made a huge deal out of my now husband not asking for her blessing before he proposed to me And it turned into a giant fight

00:52:36 - 00:52:38 | Speaker 1:

Did he ask your dad for permission?

00:52:39 - 00:52:46 | Speaker 4:

My dad's not really in my life, so there didn't be a reason to ask him But yeah, my mom was very upset

00:52:46 - 00:52:48 | Speaker 7:

Before the proposal, did your mom like him?

00:52:49 - 00:52:50 | Speaker 4:

My mom likes him

00:52:50 - 00:52:54 | Speaker 7:

So why is she making such a big deal, and why is she like...

00:52:54 - 00:52:58 | Speaker 1:

You know what, though? If she was a single mom in it, I think that he should have said something to her.

00:52:58 - 00:53:04 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, but not to the point of starting a giant fight and making it about her. That's taking it too far. I do agree. She should have been in on it.

00:53:05 - 00:53:10 | Speaker 4:

My mom called him my boyfriend for a year after we got engaged. Wow. Wow.

00:53:12 - 00:53:16 | Speaker 1:

Wow. Geez. Well, you guys are happily married now?

00:53:16 - 00:53:17 | Speaker 4:

We are.

00:53:18 - 00:53:21 | Speaker 1:

What's up? Is this Deja?

00:53:22 - 00:53:23 | Speaker 6:

Deja, yeah.

00:53:23 - 00:53:24 | Speaker 1:

Deja, what's going on?

00:53:25 - 00:53:54 | Speaker 6:

So I have a similar story to the last girl where my fiance did not ask for my dad's blessing. And it wasn't something that I necessarily, I was asking him to do. It was more for my dad's sake because my dad just wanted that knowledge. And we've been engaged for a year now. My dad ever so occasionally, he'll just kind of like nudge my fiance and be like, hey, you remember when you didn't ask for my blessing for my daughter's hand? I'm just joking about it now.

00:53:55 - 00:54:07 | Speaker 1:

Wow. You know, I will say this, that, guys, I think it's a good thing to do, especially if your fiancé or soon-to-be fiancé is really close to their parent. You know what I mean?

00:54:08 - 00:54:09 | Speaker 3:

Mom or dad.

00:54:09 - 00:54:24 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. And I think it's not a bad idea to make it a cool thing for you guys because I just think, I don't know, I just feel like, And I know it's like, oh, that's old-fashioned, whatever. I just feel like what it does is it brings the whole family into everything. And plus, you want them to help pay for things.

00:54:24 - 00:54:39 | Speaker 7:

Well, that too, yeah. So that's the most important. As long as there's no dysfunction in the family, you are uniting two families. So everybody wants to be a part and be included and everything. This is a great story. This 313 texted and said, the police at Stony Creek interrupted. Right here, Emily. Oh, we got her. Emily, you there?

00:54:40 - 00:54:41 | Speaker 2:

Hi, good morning.

00:54:41 - 00:54:43 | Speaker 1:

We were talking about interrupting the proposal. What happened?

00:54:43 - 00:54:57 | Speaker 2:

so um a few years ago when my husband proposed we were at stony creek and um right before he got down on one knee i had no idea what was going on um we just do like flashing lights and the police had come because he illegally

00:55:00 - 00:55:16 | Speaker 1:

And so we had to, like, run up the hill and, like, go talk to the guy and, like, move the car. And then I was like, all right, let's just go to dinner. And he was like, no, no, no, no, no. Like, I really want to go back down. Like, let's go look at the water. And I had no idea what was going on. But it was so funny because it was, like, all I could imagine is how embarrassed he felt.

00:55:17 - 00:55:20 | Speaker 4:

That's great. He's trying to interrupt the whole proposal.

00:55:20 - 00:55:28 | Speaker 3:

Oh, man. Mojo in the morning. We get all four seasons, sometimes on the same day. You're listening to Mojo in the morning.

00:55:28 - 00:55:31 | Speaker 4:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30

00:55:31 - 00:55:37 | Speaker 3:

Get you caught up on the dirty Be careful driving this morning We have a phone scam coming up here in just a little bit What's going on?

00:55:38 - 00:56:15 | Speaker 5:

Well, Justin Bieber just made a whole lot of money Because he sold his music rights In a $200 million deal Sold to Hypnosis Songs Capital They acquired 100% of Bieber's publishing Along with artist royalties From his master recordings And something called neighboring rights So, this deal covers all 290 titles in Bieber's catalog released prior to December 31st, 2021, including his most recent album, Justice. Now, moving forward, he'll still own all of his stuff, but everything from the past, he sold and made a cool $200 million.

00:56:15 - 00:56:19 | Speaker 3:

So, wait, so he sold the stuff from up until 2021?

00:56:20 - 00:56:26 | Speaker 5:

So, everything before December 31st, 2021 is no longer his.

00:56:26 - 00:56:30 | Speaker 3:

So that's, listen, that's all the, that's his stuff. Oh, that's his stuff.

00:56:30 - 00:56:32 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. I wonder why. What does he have to do?

00:56:32 - 00:56:56 | Speaker 4:

Well, it's security. Like now these artists, they get a huge fund like that. You never have to work again or do anything in your entire life. That money pays for itself and continues to generate millions into millions into millions. Now everything he's doing is for fun. So he could create what he always wanted to create or take three years of vacation. You don't have to, you don't have to work again. So if he has any flops, it doesn't matter because he's already got his money. Yeah.

00:56:56 - 00:58:10 | Speaker 5:

Surprise! Paris Hilton is officially a mom. She secretly welcomed her first child with her husband, Carter Room. She captioned a photo of his little hand in hers. You are already loved beyond words. And their baby boy was born via surrogate. His name has not been revealed just yet. So her first child, his second. I think the story with him is he has a nine-year-old who he's only seen one time. He's not really a part of her life, but this is the second child for him. You guys talked when I was away about the whole Tim Allen and Pamela Anderson. He flashed her on the set of Home Improvement, but he said that that was a lie. Yep. Right? Yeah. Well, there's a newly resurfaced clip showing him, showing Tim Allen, flashing another co-star in a little blooper that was released from the show. The scene shows Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson, who played Tim's wife, Jill Taylor, on the show. Tim's dressed in a kilt. They're in their kitchen. And at one point, he says his line, and then he lifts up the kilt. You look real sexy. I do? Yeah. You got the legs for this. Yeah? Hangs long. I just wish it was shorter.

00:58:14 - 00:58:17 | Speaker 2:

Well, well, well, well.

00:58:18 - 00:58:19 | Speaker 3:

Was that on the show?

00:58:20 - 00:58:28 | Speaker 5:

No, it was a blooper. It was like an outtake. She laughs really, really hard. So it doesn't appear that she was offended, but of course it's making the rounds now in the wake of the...

00:58:28 - 00:58:32 | Speaker 3:

Are people saying this is proof that he did it to Pam Anderson because he joked around with her doing it?

00:58:32 - 00:58:38 | Speaker 4:

I mean, they're just relating it to the story. You can't say I would never do something like that if you've done something like that.

00:58:40 - 00:58:40 | Speaker 5:

The NFL...

00:58:40 - 00:58:54 | Speaker 3:

Man, I got to tell you, there are so many stuff from the past for a lot of people, including our show, with craziness. If you go through it, people go and call it being inappropriate. Yeah.

00:58:55 - 00:59:20 | Speaker 5:

The NFL has announced the pregame entertainment lineup for the Super Bowl. Chris Stapleton going to be performing the national anthem. I know lots of people are excited about that. Babyface will be singing America the Beautiful. Actress Cheryl Lee Ralph will perform Lift Every Voice and Sing. And, of course, Rihanna previously announced to headline the halftime show February 12th on Fox is when the Super Bowl is going down.

00:59:20 - 00:59:23 | Speaker 3:

Who's going to be in that Super Bowl, Mike? What do you think with two teams?

00:59:24 - 00:59:30 | Speaker 2:

I really think the Chiefs and the Eagles. I would like to see the Bengals and the 49ers.

00:59:30 - 00:59:34 | Speaker 3:

That's what I think it's going to be. Bengals, Niners. That's what I'm going for. It'd be a good one. Yeah.

00:59:35 - 00:59:40 | Speaker 4:

And lastly, Rudy. I'm wearing my Eagles. I'm right here. Can I really say that in front of me?

00:59:40 - 01:00:00 | Speaker 3:

I can't – no offense. No, I know the Niners are good. But my father-in-law is from Philadelphia. But Philly fan is, like, to me, like, obnoxious. I don't know. I'm not saying you're obnoxious. I'm saying Philly fan is obnoxious. Yes, because you guys, by the way, you throw batteries at Santa Claus. That was, like, 20 years ago.

01:00:00 - 01:00:00 | Speaker 2:

No, that happens all day.

01:00:00 - 01:00:03 | Speaker 3:

Santa has not been assaulted in at least four or five years.

01:00:03 - 01:00:06 | Speaker 2:

People get beat up in the parking lots if they're wearing opposing jerseys. That happens everywhere.

01:00:06 - 01:00:10 | Speaker 3:

Come on. We're right here in the backyard of Lansing where we light things on fire.

01:00:10 - 01:00:14 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, we light our own couches on fire. We don't light other people's couches on fire.

01:00:15 - 01:00:53 | Speaker 1:

And lastly, do you guys know who Rudy the Great Root Bear is? He was the mascot. Yes, the mascot for A&W restaurants for more than 60 years. Well, he just got himself a pair of pants because on Twitter, A&W said that Rudy's lack of pants is polarizing. So they tweeted, America, let's talk. Since 1963, Rudy the Great Root Bear has been our beloved spokesbear. We knew people would notice because he's literally a six-foot-tall bear wearing an orange sweater. But now we get it. Even a mascot's lack of pants can be polarizing. So moving forward, Rudy will be wearing jeans.

01:00:53 - 01:00:58 | Speaker 2:

Didn't they learn from the Eminem debacle that going woke and doing that stuff

01:00:58 - 01:01:06 | Speaker 3:

probably hurts your sales oh yeah we'll see what happens m&m just announced their spokescandies change so we don't know if it hurts i don't think that's going to hurt their sales they said that

01:01:06 - 01:01:27 | Speaker 2:

that was that was their reasoning of doing it they said that it hurt their sales it was polarizing they were getting backlash for doing it i i will say this that we are right now broadcasting from the former world headquarters of a and w repair yes for all of about i think a year and a half until the ceo of the company's wife hated michigan and said we're moving to nashville

01:01:27 - 01:01:31 | Speaker 1:

01:01:31 - 01:01:31 | Speaker 2:

Let's go!

01:01:32 - 01:01:36 | Speaker 3:

Mojo in the mornings, Dirty on the 30, and another world-famous phone scan is next.

01:01:38 - 01:01:54 | Speaker 2:

What's going on, Jessica? Hello? Hey, you're a winner, Jessica. Sunday, you're going to the big show. Oh, my God, thank you. Future Kodak Black Jeezy. You got that. Tickets at Little Caesars. Congratulations to you.

01:01:54 - 01:01:55 | Speaker 1:

Thank you.

01:01:55 - 01:03:37 | Speaker 2:

You are so welcome. I got Misfit Nicole some tickets. Thank you, by the way, to Lee in our sales department. I love that guy so much. He's the best. He was great. He actually gave Nicole his personal tickets to go to it, and she sent me. I want to read some of these things because she's so funny. She said to me, she goes, she went out and bought. Where the heck is it? I think she bought herself new hair and a new dress to wear that night. Yeah, for the show. So she said, I could be, I can't find the text. But she said, oh, she goes, she goes, oh, my God, I just canceled your voodoo doll. She said, I was going to give you a sharp poke tonight. She said, thank you so much. I just got myself a new dress for that night and a new occasion getting my hair done. So I love it. Misfit Nicole going to the big show. You should be going to the big show. You can get your tickets at Ticketmaster. You can go get those things or the Little Caesars Arena box office 313 presents. The show is on Sunday. All right, it is the Emojo in the Morning Show. Phone number is 844-EMOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. I can only imagine that driving is just really bad this morning, so there's probably a lot of issues here. But there's certain things that you can do and you cannot do. I want my wife to know this. I was paying attention to the road. I was so scared driving in today. it was it was really slick she gets mad at me i ended up buying this thing where i could put my phone like right there on the dashboard yeah thinking that it was going to make it safer for me to not have like my phone down you know and so you had to keep picking it up and looking well now she says i sit there and i look at it non-stop i see the screen non-stop i could have the other

01:03:37 - 01:04:09 | Speaker 3:

adverse effects i got that for my daughter now i'm afraid with the phone right into her she's going to be looking at it too often um i also think that you should drive my car for a day because the kia warns you if it notices your eyes looking down if you're looking at your phone or something it'll tell you like you really keep your eyes on the road does it do that tap you on your seat it no it goes it chimes it makes a little ding and then in the where the speedometer is in the dashboard it says you know keep your eyes on the road if where the what is it i've

01:04:09 - 01:04:23 | Speaker 2:

never heard anybody call it a speedometer a speedometer yeah honestly it was very uh like proper i like speedometer so so that would drive me crazy because you know well i know why they

01:04:23 - 01:04:47 | Speaker 3:

they invented it if you're doing a road trip and you're getting sleepy it detects if your eyes are starting to droop or close or you're looking down if you fall asleep it'll start vibrating the steering wheel but it's also like hey i'm just looking at my google maps real quick like don't nag on you know don't snitch on me does it show you that cup of coffee too where it's like you should have a cup yes it says maybe you should pull over and take a break a little coffee cup

01:04:47 - 01:04:51 | Speaker 1:

it's like having a little friend in the car with you it is but a naggy friend but you could probably

01:04:51 - 01:04:57 | Speaker 3:

turn it off uh i think all those i've been looking for it i still haven't found you know what though

01:04:57 - 01:05:00 | Speaker 2:

i can't i have all my warnings on by the way

01:05:00 - 01:05:04 | Speaker 4:

that they set them up at gordon chevrolet and i know the moment that i change the setting i'm

01:05:04 - 01:05:12 | Speaker 3:

gonna get into an accident oh it's definitely saved me on like the you know paying attention to someone slamming on the brakes in front of you and stuff like i do i left all the other

01:05:12 - 01:05:28 | Speaker 4:

warnings on but that one kind of annoyed me a little bit i really think that the self-driving cars you know the autonomous cars would be a great idea for me especially when we move downtown and my commute becomes 52 minutes and i'm driving at 4 a.m to go down to eastern market like i would

01:05:28 - 01:05:48 | Speaker 3:

have that car drive me non-stop yeah because in your case it would definitely be safe yeah and every time that one of those gets in an accident they make big headlines about unsafe these autonomous driving cars i'm like yeah how many regular car accidents did we have in that same day by humans making dumb human errors you know yeah i'm not the safest driver if they gave us

01:05:48 - 01:05:53 | Speaker 4:

the accident reports on people named betty driving in a car i guarantee you that he hired betty was

01:05:53 - 01:06:42 | Speaker 3:

higher than a tesla autonomous car let me tell you something i saw yesterday and tell me if i'm out of line because i'm not one to shame people for living their life especially moms but i saw something on the way home yesterday that really bothered me tell me is this wrong or right to say moms shouldn't be breastfeeding while driving because like actually breastfeeding or pumping no breastfeeding i looked over at the car next to me at the red light and it was clear that a mom was nursing her newborn like she was repositioning the baby and putting a towel over her shoulder shoulder and I could clearly see the baby's head and then the light turned green and she just drove next to me for the next five minutes and I'm like whoa with the baby in her that is so dangerous yeah because that baby's got to be in a car seat and and I believe listen I get it when you're losing your mind because the baby won't stop screaming and but you got to pull over a nurse

01:06:42 - 01:06:49 | Speaker 4:

for the safety of the baby yeah oh yeah that's that's insane what would your Kia uh ding on that

01:06:49 - 01:06:53 | Speaker 3:

We noticed the baby's still latched on And you're going 30 miles per hour

01:06:53 - 01:07:11 | Speaker 2:

I mean, I used to pump when I was driving You're not going to hurt anybody I set up my pump here in the parking lot And I would attach it to my boobs And turn it on And you can do it now where you don't even have to use your hands There's a bra that you just stick the pumps into I would do that all the time I'm sure truckers got a really A good look

01:07:11 - 01:07:25 | Speaker 3:

And you might be a little distracted But no more than me looking at my phone for a second It's not the same as you're putting that baby's life in risk If you hit something, you might be seat-belted in, but don't believe you're going to be cradling that baby enough.

01:07:26 - 01:07:53 | Speaker 4:

A friend of mine called the cops on a car that they drove by where they saw the kids in the backseat jumping up and down out of a car seat. He called the cops on the car because he said, man, they were driving on, I think it was 275, which going 275 towards the airport, people are nuts driving that way. What's more dangerous? A woman breastfeeding her child Or me trying to eat gas station sushi

01:07:53 - 01:07:55 | Speaker 2:

Honestly, probably

01:07:55 - 01:07:59 | Speaker 4:

You're more dangerous It's probably What's going on, Lauren?

01:08:00 - 01:08:24 | Speaker 1:

Hi, so I just wanted to comment on the breastfeeding while driving I don't agree I don't think it's safe to Breastfeed your baby while they're in your lap But I mean, if you're on a road trip And you're in the backseat And you have to nurse the baby While they're in the car seat I mean, that's a different story So I don't know what the mom What the situation the mom had But sometimes a mom has to do what a mom has to do

01:08:24 - 01:08:29 | Speaker 2:

Yeah I wish in the case of You know what Spike saw she would have just pulled over For five minutes or something

01:08:29 - 01:08:33 | Speaker 3:

An airbag is going to kill the baby Hands down kill the baby

01:08:33 - 01:08:39 | Speaker 2:

Because I agree with you like when baby has to eat Baby has to eat or when your boobs feel like they're going to explode You got to do something about it

01:08:39 - 01:08:46 | Speaker 4:

Do you remember when we were kids And our parents would Like how did we survive

01:08:46 - 01:08:51 | Speaker 2:

I never, this sounds so terrible I mean, I remember not wearing a seatbelt Sometimes

01:08:51 - 01:08:56 | Speaker 3:

We'd sit on this center hump Holding my parents' cigarettes while they drove

01:08:56 - 01:09:03 | Speaker 4:

We had a station wagon By the way, Lauren What are you, 20? How old are you?

01:09:03 - 01:09:05 | Speaker 1:

No, I'm in my 30s

01:09:05 - 01:09:40 | Speaker 4:

Remember station wagons? Now I know they're coming back a little bit People sometimes have them So we had a station wagon Where you sat in the back on a bench seat looking at the cars that were coming your way and honestly i'd get car sick all the time in my my mom's station wagon but the gas tank was under and we had no seatbelts yeah so if somebody if somebody rear ends us not only are we the first line of defense and protecting my family up in the front of the car but we're also about to explode when it comes when i was little the wagons had they

01:09:40 - 01:10:12 | Speaker 3:

they marketed it for little kids to sit in the back the thing folded up and there was this little they called it the rumble seat where little kids could sit back in the back and you're waving at the truckers behind you and we called the tumble seat because my dad drove so aggressively we would be tumbling all over the back in the trunk did your parents ever have those like big metal vans with the the back seat that folded down into like a bed and you could like you could slip in the bed if you wanted my parents had those and we would roll around on road trips they wouldn't be in a car seat we would just roll around oh yeah how about pickup trucks you know what i mean like how about the guys that

01:10:12 - 01:10:17 | Speaker 2:

back in the bed i always think that the totally illegal but everybody still does it the kids in

01:10:17 - 01:10:25 | Speaker 3:

the back of the pickup truck the dad or mom doesn't love he or she he or she is basically

01:10:25 - 01:10:26 | Speaker 2:

I'm tired of hearing you.

01:10:27 - 01:10:35 | Speaker 3:

I would risk your life to not have to put up with you talking in the car. Jill, what's going on? Now I'm scared to talk.

01:10:35 - 01:10:38 | Speaker 6:

I'm worried you're going to risk my life for talking.

01:10:39 - 01:10:41 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, it was just our parents. Our parents did that.

01:10:42 - 01:11:35 | Speaker 6:

Hey, guys. Happy New Year. Happy New Year. Congrats, Shannon. Thank you. I love you. I love you all. So quick thing. Former CPS worker in two different states. Again, this all depends on the state, but on the two different states that I worked in, if you pull that baby out of the car while it's moving and somebody calls it in, especially if they for some reason take photos, which will be weird, that's going to be an open CPS case because you are putting that baby at risk. It takes half a second for an accident to happen, and if for some awful reason that happens, that baby could get injured. So I definitely encourage people to just pull over for a little bit. I know it's going to delay your, like, arrival, but really the last thing you want is to think back, you know, I can't believe I took my baby out.

01:11:35 - 01:11:40 | Speaker 2:

Jill, does that even include the backseat, the woman that said, I'll nurse in the backseat while we're on a road trip?

01:11:40 - 01:12:20 | Speaker 6:

yeah because i mean i can't tell you what a cop will do but at least on the two different states that i've done it again every state is different um like there's different laws for leaving your child alone in one state versus the other um but again if if you get pulled over or if an accident happened you know maybe law enforcement would be kind but if it's not the first time that there was like a warning made or a report made about the baby being in the car seat not being in the car seat it's going to end up on likely an open cpf day i typically mind about that i'll mind my own

01:12:20 - 01:12:51 | Speaker 2:

flipping business usually like i would never call the cops on i don't know what that mom's going through what her situation is but if the windows were down in summertime at that red light i would have said something and make her feel uncomfortable or make her think about it just because it may be she doesn't know any better but i just say that airbag you know that baby's not safe because i mean i'd rather be i'd rather have someone be 10 minutes late somewhere than than to pull over a nurse than to have something tragic you can never take back hi jack hey good morning what's up yeah

01:12:51 - 01:13:23 | Speaker 4:

yeah hey mojo i'm about your age but um back in the 70s me and my brothers my dad my dad bought this big 40 Conoline van and it didn't have any seats in the back. It was just a cargo van. We had a piece of carpet in the back and a love seat. Oh my gosh. Like house furniture. Exactly. And we got to acting up, just rowdy in the back and we thought we were well out of reach of Dad. Of course, we found out otherwise when he slammed on the brakes and we went sliding.

01:13:23 - 01:13:24 | Unknown:

Yes.

01:13:25 - 01:13:26 | Speaker 2:

Oh my lord.

01:13:27 - 01:13:32 | Speaker 4:

Those were the days. I wish I could have seen the look in her eyes. We were probably just terrified as we were sliding right up.

01:13:33 - 01:14:01 | Speaker 3:

That was a way for Dad to get you. All right, it is Mojo in the morning. Elaine was very nervous to go back to the dentist this week under current situations. A few hours after her appointment, Spike gave her something completely different to worry about. He told her that the treatment that she received was probably going to make her teeth fall out. It's a Mojo in the Morning phone scam. You're home with the phone scams.

01:14:01 - 01:14:03 | Speaker 1:

Hi, baby. Can I ask you a question?

01:14:05 - 01:14:07 | Speaker 4:

This is Mojo in the Morning.

01:14:09 - 01:14:59 | Speaker 1:

Hello? Hi, this is Ralph from W***man's Dental Office. Can I speak to Elaine, please? Speaking. Oh, good. We got you. You were in here for a teeth cleaning this morning, right? Yes. Oh, boy. I hope it's not too late. Oh, boy, oh, boy. What's going on? Did you ever have a bad day? Okay, well, here's the pickle. Here we go. When you last visited our offices, did you happen to get the fluoride treatment for which you were scheduled to receive? Yes. Oh, boy. Oh, dear me. Okay. Listen, how are your teeth looking? They look fine. Why? Oh, that's great. Okay. Here's the thing. The solution gel we used on your teeth was recalled because it's faulty.

01:15:00 - 01:16:29 | Speaker 3:

and some patients have experienced tooth discoloration and tooth loss. I'm sorry, what? People's teeth are falling out from the fluoride treatment. Are you kidding me right now? It's probable, okay? I don't know for sure. We're hearing that some patients this morning that their teeth are turning a yellow-orange color, and apparently the stuff, it turns a rusty color before killing the root and the teeth fall out. What? I'm sorry. I'm not going to flora tree to make your teeth fall. I know. That's what we said, right? So we're trying to find out who used it, what's happening, and we're just keeping tabs. So I just wanted to warn you because if you see weird things happen today, which is likely, then you should come and tell us right away. Are you kidding me? If my teeth start falling out today, I know you'd be upset. And here's the thing. We don't know. They're not going to fall out today. I'm going to be upset if my teeth start falling out. Are you crazy? But we can't unbleach your teeth, right? There's nothing we could do to reverse the process. This is more of an awareness call to let you know, to tell us if you see any changes today. To be honest, if you didn't drink so much coffee and pop, we wouldn't be in this situation, right? Because your teeth would already be white. Dr. S*** has kind of warned you before to avoid sugary products. F*** you.

01:16:29 - 01:16:33 | Speaker 1:

Get him on the phone right now. I don't have patience for this.

01:16:33 - 01:16:53 | Speaker 3:

I could see you'd be upset. I understand. And that's why we're just asking patients to have patience. If you start to see discoloration, you call us back because it's likely, but it doesn't mean necessarily your teeth will fall out. It's only happened about 30% of of the peoples. Oh, my God. You're a ****.

01:16:53 - 01:16:54 | Unknown:

You're a ****.

01:16:54 - 01:17:22 | Speaker 3:

Okay, that's hurtful to say. We did give you free toothbrush and Listerine, so I feel like you're only focusing on the bad stuff about your visit. Oh, my God. What did the dentist see at the North Pole? A molar bear. I'm just trying to lighten up things a little bit. Are you still there, Elaine? This is ****. Okay, that's not something nice. Your son Tony's listening, and you shouldn't be talking like that. Your son, Tony, called the Mojo on the morning show. This is Spike, and you've just been phone scammed.

01:17:24 - 01:17:50 | Speaker 1:

All right, that makes sense. I was like, what? How did I fall for that? We will, we will scam you. You've been phone scammed. It's Mojo in the Morning's world-famous phone scams. What's that? What's that? What's that? What's that?

01:17:51 - 01:17:52 | Unknown:

Make some noise.

01:17:53 - 01:17:58 | Speaker 1:

For Mojo, Mike Shannon. For Mojo in the morning.

01:18:00 - 01:18:59 | Speaker 2:

Good morning, Mojo in the morning show. Coming up this hour on the Mojo in the morning show. Somebody ripped off Megan's brother. and not only is she upset by this but he is really pissed so talk about that um i actually was at planet fitness yesterday and witnessed the most amazing thing i've ever witnessed before in my life well the most amazing thing that anybody else will witness is the fact that i was at planet fitness yesterday but this was pretty amazing i'll talk about mr rogers at planet fitness okay so that's coming up here in just a little bit and um spike says stop asking him when he's gonna propose it's very rude he'll talk about that this hour here on the mojo in the morning show be careful driving megan do we level three it yet i'm gonna see if megan has to spend

01:18:59 - 01:19:05 | Speaker 4:

the night at uh no what level um you know what can you give me 30 seconds let me check okay you

01:19:05 - 01:19:26 | Speaker 2:

You go check that. I'm just going to tell you that the streets right now are really slippery. Be careful if you are driving. So in Detroit and then Toledo, we're supposed to be getting anywhere between 4 and 10 inches of snow. We have a winter weather advisory that is out right now. Actually, has it turned to a warning?

01:19:26 - 01:19:29 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, so now it's a winter storm warning.

01:19:29 - 01:19:31 | Speaker 2:

Winter storm warning. So, yeah.

01:19:31 - 01:19:40 | Speaker 4:

Lucas is not under any snow emergencies right now, and neither is Wood, but we have a couple of the outlining counties on a level one, but not very many right now.

01:19:40 - 01:19:57 | Speaker 2:

And it will probably change a little bit as the day goes on because it's going to be the midday snow that's going to be like the really, really bad stuff. I was saying that it was smart that the school is probably closed because it's probably going to be difficult on the way home more so than even just this morning, but it is still really slippery out. Mojo in the morning show.

01:20:00 - 01:20:02 | Speaker 3:

Shannon, what was the topic then? I forgot.

01:20:03 - 01:20:13 | Speaker 2:

Well, so I was telling you guys, I thought this was kind of funny. The topic is what did you find out after the engagement or even what did you find out after the wedding about the person that you were going to spend the rest of your life with?

01:20:14 - 01:20:16 | Speaker 3:

Do we have something on your guy?

01:20:16 - 01:21:06 | Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah. Of course. That's why I'm talking about this. So Wes and I had so many great conversations over the past couple of days while we were away. And, you know, we don't really ever get to spend days in a row with each other. So I felt kind of spoiled because we had so much time together and so much time to just like talk and not be interrupted by kids or whatever. So the day after we got engaged, which was Friday, we were sitting at this little bar and we just sat there and talked for hours. And one of the very random things that I asked him was, tell me a secret about yourself that you're embarrassed to admit. And right away his answer was, I pee in the shower every single morning. I hope he's okay with me saying this That confession was weighing on him He needed to get that out I was like alright I think I can deal with that Because guess what I pee in the shower too sometimes

01:21:06 - 01:21:11 | Speaker 3:

Oh Remind all of us that we're never taking a shower In your shower

01:21:11 - 01:21:13 | Speaker 2:

You don't pee in the shower?

01:21:13 - 01:21:21 | Speaker 3:

I only pee in the shower sometimes But I'm very careful Because my wife has amazing smell She can actually

01:21:21 - 01:21:31 | Speaker 1:

She can kind of tell You want to know how crazy I am? I pee in the shower all the time, but I also clean my shower every time I use it. Do you really? I do.

01:21:31 - 01:21:35 | Speaker 3:

That's amazing. Like you get scrubbing bubbles and stuff like that, or what do you do?

01:21:36 - 01:21:54 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I just have this spray that goes in the shower, and then I have a sponge that I leave in my shower. Just for the pee? Well, every time I'm done showering, I'm like, well, if I'm in here, I might as well just get it done. So then I wash my shower real fast, and I get out. Because then it's not a big deal. Then you don't really have to scrub it

01:21:54 - 01:21:54 | Speaker 3:

Wow

01:21:54 - 01:21:58 | Speaker 1:

And then it justifies me being able to pee in the shower

01:21:58 - 01:22:03 | Speaker 2:

It's just so much more convenient Isn't it

01:22:03 - 01:22:08 | Speaker 3:

Okay so you do the pee in He said the pee in the shower thing Did you have to answer that same question too

01:22:08 - 01:22:12 | Speaker 2:

I can't remember He didn't ask you

01:22:12 - 01:22:13 | Speaker 3:

Oh my gosh

01:22:13 - 01:22:23 | Speaker 2:

If you don't believe me that I don't remember my answer You can call him because I truly don't remember what the heck No we're just shocked that he didn't take the opportunity To really question your crazy Well, he knows my crazy.

01:22:24 - 01:22:41 | Speaker 3:

That's for sure. Okay, so this is interesting because when you start dating someone, I feel like there's a level of what you try to find out about them while you're dating them. Then, as you're thinking that this might be somebody that you want to spend time with, then there's another level at engagement time.

01:22:41 - 01:22:46 | Speaker 2:

Like the layers, what do they say, the layers of the onion. Yeah, you peel the layers back of the onion. Peel them back.

01:22:46 - 01:23:09 | Speaker 3:

And then when you get married, but this is the other thing. After you get married, you could think that you found out everything you wanted to know about those people. And then something big happens where you find out something major. So what for you was the thing that you found out after you got engaged or after you got married about your significant other? Did they poop in the shower?

01:23:10 - 01:23:11 | Speaker 2:

That would be an issue.

01:23:12 - 01:23:19 | Speaker 3:

Would you have a problem with that? Even if they were like Megan and they cleaned it every single time.

01:23:19 - 01:23:20 | Speaker 1:

No, no, no. That's much different.

01:23:21 - 01:23:54 | Speaker 3:

I like that you said red flag, though, and not a deal breaker. Like, it's just a warning sign. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Question for you, because this is, like, on a level. What do you think of couples, like, people who get together, especially with having kids, would you ever consider, like, background checking? Yes. Has anybody ever done that before? Background check the person. Like, Shannon, I know you know what you think is everything about Wes.

01:23:54 - 01:23:55 | Speaker 2:

Right, yeah.

01:23:55 - 01:23:58 | Speaker 3:

But have you ever, like, said, you know what, I want to find out. Like, do you know his credit score?

01:23:59 - 01:24:01 | Speaker 2:

I do, yeah. Okay, because why?

01:24:01 - 01:24:04 | Speaker 3:

Because was he buying a house or a car or something like that? Or what did you know?

01:24:05 - 01:24:06 | Speaker 2:

He was thinking about buying a house.

01:24:06 - 01:24:08 | Speaker 3:

Did you ask him to see it? Or did he show it?

01:24:08 - 01:24:12 | Speaker 2:

No, we just, we honestly had a conversation about, like, finances and all of that kind of stuff.

01:24:12 - 01:24:14 | Speaker 3:

Do you know his arrest record?

01:24:14 - 01:24:14 | Speaker 2:

I do.

01:24:15 - 01:24:28 | Speaker 3:

Do you, really? Yeah. Is there anything there? I can't say. Okay. Do you know, did you ask his, how about this? Did you ask his ex-wife any details about things just to kind of get a little feel?

01:24:28 - 01:24:40 | Speaker 2:

I love his ex-wife. Truly, I do. And, I mean, we talk and, you know, I would have no qualms about asking her. I don't know that I've asked her, like, what? I think that would be weird to be like, tell me everything.

01:24:40 - 01:24:45 | Speaker 3:

Because at 8.20 this morning, she's on with us to give us all the details.

01:24:45 - 01:24:46 | Speaker 2:

She would be gladly, too.

01:24:46 - 01:24:49 | Speaker 3:

Megan, you say that you would do this. You would actually hire somebody.

01:24:49 - 01:24:59 | Speaker 1:

A hundred percent. A hundred percent. I think that people lie all the time, and it's really easy to hide information. And how do you know that this person hasn't committed, like, serious crimes?

01:24:59 - 01:25:00 | Speaker 3:

I know.

01:25:00 - 01:25:07 | Speaker 2:

I know parents who did the background check on their kids' relationship.

01:25:07 - 01:25:08 | Speaker 3:

I probably did that.

01:25:08 - 01:25:33 | Speaker 2:

To find out about that. They did it because they come from a very wealthy line of people. Okay, well, that's not why I would do it. I would just do it to be curious. And he was saying that he didn't want to have a prenuptial agreement, and they were like, you know what, we're doing a background check. And when they did the background check, they found out some crazy financial things about her family, which scared them uh you know about about that but lisa what's going on

01:25:33 - 01:25:40 | Speaker 6:

oh joe you guys gotta stop having my ex-husband as the example of everything negative that's true

01:25:40 - 01:25:55 | Speaker 2:

lisa is i i have to say this about you lisa you're you're first off you're like one of my favorite listeners because you you always have something good to say a good call but your calls usually are good for all of us to listen to not good for your history that you had to deal with

01:25:56 - 01:26:00 | Speaker 7:

Okay, it's life experiences. I've grown from it, and I've moved on. How about that?

01:26:00 - 01:26:04 | Speaker 2:

Yes. What did you find out after you got married or engaged?

01:26:05 - 01:26:11 | Speaker 7:

Well, I found out my husband had had a DUI, and his father shared that with me. Not even him.

01:26:12 - 01:26:13 | Speaker 1:

He never talked about it before?

01:26:14 - 01:26:22 | Speaker 7:

Never. Wow. And then when I confronted him, he was like, well, you know, it's pretty bad, and it's kind of negative. I'm like, yeah, I should have shared.

01:26:22 - 01:26:28 | Speaker 3:

How did his dad share it with you? Like, did you ask if there was anything that you should know, or was he just freely giving up the info?

01:26:30 - 01:26:40 | Speaker 7:

He just, we were in the car one day, and he shared it with me, and I was like, oh, good to know. Like, I was shocked. Like, I didn't want him to know that I didn't know.

01:26:40 - 01:26:48 | Speaker 2:

And knowing all the stories that you've told us over time about this guy, that was just the tip of the ice, right?

01:26:49 - 01:26:52 | Speaker 7:

Oh, there's a reason why he's my ex-husband.

01:26:53 - 01:26:55 | Speaker 2:

Exactly. Lisa, thank you for sharing. What's going on, Courtney?

01:26:56 - 01:26:58 | Speaker 4:

Hey, what's up?

01:26:58 - 01:26:59 | Speaker 2:

What's happening? What did you find out?

01:27:00 - 01:27:16 | Speaker 4:

Well, my mom, she works, and I don't want to say where exactly she works. I don't want to get her in trouble, but she's a crazy person, and she literally background checks everyone I have ever dated, like have found some juicy stuff.

01:27:16 - 01:27:17 | Speaker 2:

Really? What did she find?

01:27:18 - 01:28:16 | Speaker 4:

Well, my now boyfriend, who's also the father of my child, back when he was like 18 I want to say maybe he was like yeah he was 18 he um this was back when cannabis was not allowed um and he definitely had some things in his home that uh was not supposed to be there okay um he's also found from another person from like breaking and entering and home yeah when he was like 16 17 has there ever been anything that she found that made you break up with the person you were dating um yeah the one with breaking in the home because he was still like kind of mischievous yeah um yeah he was in his like mid-20s and i was like yeah after you broke up did you find out anything was missing in your home no thankfully thank god no and he's he stayed over a few times too so thankfully nothing crazy with me but yeah you know definitely

01:28:16 - 01:28:37 | Speaker 2:

some some bumps in that i'm amazed at how many people will go on dates with somebody and they won't even google them just to see what's going on or or i know this is sounds crazy because right this is what i would go right to sex offenders list like go to you know uh see if they're if they've ever in the past ever had any legal issues you can actually check that out online

01:28:37 - 01:29:31 | Speaker 5:

the info's all out there why wouldn't you erin what's up hey so years ago um i was dating this guy and i didn't really know much about him um wound up pregnant by that guy um and then a friend of mine was like all the stories that he had told her and both of us together um was off and so she did a background check and mailed it to me come to find out he had a laundry list of like breaking and entering domestic abuse um kidnapping yeah told my uh told me that both of his parents had passed away um indeed they're both still alive that he had money accounts and short you know offshore accounts and i'm like oh my god because

01:29:31 - 01:29:43 | Speaker 1:

there's one thing when that caller said he had a dui so it sounded like he was ashamed of a mistake he made all of the crimes you just said were completely premeditated and and had even more

01:29:43 - 01:29:48 | Speaker 5:

victims at stake yeah and he had he did he had done time he had done prison time and i had no

01:29:48 - 01:29:59 | Speaker 2:

idea after watching the tv show dear john i would know god that freaked me out i mean he was like good looking he was like the perfect guy

01:29:59 - 01:30:01 | Unknown:

You

01:30:00 - 01:30:09 | Speaker 4:

She was the successful woman, Shannon Wells. Where's Keith Morrison?

01:30:10 - 01:30:13 | Speaker 3:

And then there was the proposal in Paris.

01:30:13 - 01:30:15 | Speaker 1:

She was a radio host.

01:30:15 - 01:30:17 | Speaker 3:

Started with peeing in the shower.

01:30:17 - 01:30:30 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's right. All right, it is Emojo in the Morning Show. Megan's brother is very, very upset with you if you're listening right now, and you are the person that did this. Come forward, and we will not press charges.

01:30:31 - 01:31:19 | Speaker 2:

Well, I don't know. He's so mad at this point he might press charges, and I would laugh because of how dumb this all is. But he asked me, I have like a security camera for my house, and he asked me to pull up the tapes. Pull them up and go through them because he couldn't tell when it had happened, but there was a crime that had been committed, and he's trying to pinpoint the location. Now, the crime, you may ask, what was it? Somebody stole the stickers off his car. What? He is so mad about this. I'm pretty sure he went to his gym and asked for the security footage in the parking lot. Like bumper stickers? They were like windows. You know, those ones that you have to scrape off with a razor blade? What the heck?

01:31:19 - 01:31:22 | Speaker 4:

What was the sticker that they stole? Was it something that they were, like, opposed to?

01:31:22 - 01:31:37 | Speaker 2:

I think they got confused so I think the same thing so my brother had a sticker of MF Doom like his logo after I believe MF Doom passed last year right?

01:31:38 - 01:31:40 | Speaker 4:

Explain who MF Doom is

01:31:40 - 01:31:49 | Speaker 2:

a rapper, DJ, music producer I don't know my brother loves him but they actually went up there

01:31:49 - 01:31:52 | Speaker 4:

and they stole it right off of his car they actually took it off his car

01:31:52 - 01:31:56 | Speaker 2:

But I think they thought it was like a logo for something else.

01:31:56 - 01:32:00 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Can I say something that's going to make me sound like dad here right now?

01:32:01 - 01:32:01 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

01:32:02 - 01:32:16 | Speaker 4:

I don't get the people who put stickers on their cars or even their laptop computers. Oh, no. I feel like you are defacing property. I know it sounds bad.

01:32:17 - 01:32:18 | Speaker 2:

Do you hate my car then?

01:32:18 - 01:32:20 | Speaker 4:

I love your car. I think it's wonderful.

01:32:20 - 01:32:21 | Speaker 2:

I have stickers all over the inside of my room.

01:32:21 - 01:32:29 | Speaker 4:

Do you understand how hard that is going to be to resell that thing? When you trade that thing in, you know what Jeff is going to do over at Zot? He's going to be like.

01:32:29 - 01:32:33 | Speaker 3:

I think the window clings are fine, but the stickers are going to be fine. Putting stickers on it.

01:32:34 - 01:32:34 | Speaker 2:

Well, okay.

01:32:34 - 01:32:34 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

01:32:34 - 01:32:56 | Speaker 2:

So I have a Wrangler and I have stickers all over the roof of my car, which is kind of like a tradition, I guess you could say. It's pretty common for Wrangler. It's a big Jeep thing. It's a big Jeep thing. First of all, people always act like I've ruined my car. Those stickers fall off like crazy. As soon as it's warm outside, they just drop on me while I'm done. And then also, Goo Gone exists. Why do people think I've destroyed this car?

01:32:56 - 01:33:12 | Speaker 4:

So my friend Paul Clem does this. He's got a brand new Jeep Wrangler like you do. It's beautiful. It's a silver one with a black top. It's got big wheels on it. And he puts stickers all over his car. And I'm like, you've ruined this beautiful Jeep of yours.

01:33:12 - 01:33:15 | Speaker 1:

We spend a third of our lives in those cars. So why not personalize a little bit?

01:33:15 - 01:33:17 | Speaker 4:

You can't see the sticker while you're driving.

01:33:18 - 01:33:43 | Speaker 1:

This is the first laptop I don't have stickers on. I know. I just looked at your laptop because normally you do. Usually I do because, first of all, I want no one to think about stealing it because it's like, oh, it's all marked up. This is my laptop. There's no mistaking. You can't accidentally pick the wrong one up. Right. And if you steal it, I'm going to know right away it's mine. Yep. So why not? I don't know. I just – Listen, and they have cool – How long, how many years are you using a laptop? Nowadays, every eight years, you've got to get a new one.

01:33:43 - 01:33:47 | Speaker 4:

Well, there's the point. There's the point because then I try to trade it in.

01:33:47 - 01:33:53 | Speaker 1:

But then they're not worth anything in the trade-in because it's so old, the technology. If I'm getting a new one, it's because the old one doesn't work anymore.

01:33:53 - 01:34:02 | Speaker 4:

Here's the other thing, too. There is nothing in my life that I think that is that exciting of mine that I would ever get a tattoo or put a sticker on for. Come on.

01:34:02 - 01:34:08 | Speaker 3:

Let's say that about a tattoo. I thought you wanted to get a tattoo. No. Like boys or something in Chell's. Yes.

01:34:08 - 01:34:15 | Speaker 4:

No. I thought about it once because I thought everybody in my family has got a tattoo except for Luke and me. You know what I mean?

01:34:15 - 01:34:21 | Speaker 1:

The only thing I'm sure of is that Mojo is going to get one. Because whenever he so definitely declares that he will never do something...

01:34:21 - 01:34:25 | Speaker 3:

It would be like the stick figure family that you put on a car.

01:34:25 - 01:34:29 | Speaker 4:

I can't get a tattoo after my heart surgery. Really? That's one of the things they told me I cannot do.

01:34:29 - 01:34:30 | Speaker 3:

Really?

01:34:30 - 01:34:36 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, because if I get a blood... I don't know if there's something with the... If it gets in your bloodstream or something.

01:34:36 - 01:34:40 | Speaker 1:

They also told you not to text and drive while eating a taco. I know. But you still do that too.

01:34:41 - 01:35:05 | Speaker 4:

That they... Actually, they did not on that sheet though after my surgery say that. But sticker wise and stuff like there are a couple of times where I'm like, oh, that would be kind of cool. I'd like to put that, you know, like when Brady went to the Buccaneers, I saw a cool Buccaneers, you know, sticker after they won the Super Bowl. And I'm like, oh, but then. go he's gonna leave the buccaneers in two years to go to the raiders then what do i do now i've

01:35:05 - 01:35:10 | Speaker 2:

got this sticker on this thing you know i easily have a hundred stickers on my car do you really

01:35:10 - 01:35:35 | Speaker 3:

i saw your your pictures the other day from inside your car it was fun you know are you against like the um people who put their name on everything uh do you know what i'm talking about because my friend ashley and my sister have a cricket and so i ask them to give me like my name and the kids names i put them on everything what do you mean like give me an example of things you put your name like water bottles coffee travelers well i always think that that's bad to do because

01:35:35 - 01:36:03 | Speaker 4:

then if you're in public somebody just screams out your name and you know knows your name and stuff but i i don't know i don't know i don't care i don't care about that like i you also have to understand i never wear station t-shirts right so i'm not a person that wears like radio station things like that i'm not a big i'm not big on the logos and stuff but it's just me i'm going to steal Megan's stickers. She's never going to know. I'm going to take them and I'm going to put them in her brother's car. And then people are going to, and then her brother's going to be like pissed. Why did Megan put that

01:36:03 - 01:36:18 | Speaker 2:

on my car? No, I, oh, so okay, you want to know how nice I am? Because this is rare that I get to say this. My brother, I hate being a passenger. I have to drive everywhere, so my brother rides in my car a lot. And the stickers on my panel are all things I like, and the stickers on the panel over him are all things he likes.

01:36:19 - 01:36:24 | Speaker 8:

Aww. That's so nice. We're the two best friends at anyone.

01:36:25 - 01:36:42 | Speaker 7:

hi mike mike listener mike yeah yes what's happening nothing you you hate stickers on a car well my lincoln navigator has them all over oh you can't do that to him that's a nice ride

01:36:42 - 01:36:48 | Speaker 4:

i knew you'd hate it that's why i called in mike how do you ruin a lincoln navigator that's like

01:36:48 - 01:36:54 | Speaker 7:

it's just on the windows it comes right off what are the stickers the stickers say i'm rich

01:36:54 - 01:36:54 | Speaker 4:

What does it say?

01:36:54 - 01:37:08 | Speaker 7:

No, most of them are making fun of Jeeps because they all got a problem with the Navigator being off-road with them until I got to pull them out of a hole. Really? The Jeep wave sticker, I got a little sticker that mimics it and it says, nice Jeep peasant.

01:37:10 - 01:37:11 | Speaker 4:

Good turn.

01:37:12 - 01:37:14 | Speaker 9:

Wow, you weren't kidding, Mojo.

01:37:15 - 01:37:20 | Speaker 4:

By the way, I never in a million years would ever think that a Navigator could pull a Jeep.

01:37:20 - 01:37:26 | Speaker 2:

I love how I'm also out here with, like, Kim Kardashian crying on my ceiling, and he's out here like, I'm going to start a fight with people.

01:37:29 - 01:37:30 | Speaker 4:

Thanks for the call, buddy.

01:37:30 - 01:37:35 | Speaker 9:

He could pull you out of the mud, but he's got those beautiful rims all clean. He doesn't want to get off-road.

01:37:35 - 01:38:06 | Speaker 4:

Whenever I see somebody with, like, a Navigator or an Escalade and they do things to it that make it look like, like, it's not that they're trying to even make it look cooler, but all of a sudden it's like somebody with one of those cars, they lift it up like a Jeep or they do something like that. And I'm going, oh, you just ruined that car. That car was so nice before you started doing that thing. Remember when you would see this, and you don't see it as much anymore, but remember when all of our Chaldean friends used to have spinners on their rims?

01:38:07 - 01:38:09 | Speaker 3:

Spinners, the balls. Yeah.

01:38:10 - 01:38:11 | Speaker 4:

What's up, Drew?

01:38:12 - 01:38:14 | Speaker 6:

Hey, good morning, guys. How you guys doing?

01:38:14 - 01:38:15 | Speaker 4:

Good. What's going on?

01:38:16 - 01:38:31 | Speaker 6:

Good. I just wanted to comment. It's always drove me crazy when people have, like, a Jeep, and then they get a Jeep sticker on their windshield or Cadillac, and then they have a Cadillac sticker in big, bold letters. Like, I don't know. That's always drove me crazy. Right.

01:38:31 - 01:38:36 | Speaker 9:

You're like, I know. You have a Jeep. You're in the Jeep. You don't need to label the Jeep. It has a label on it. Right.

01:38:36 - 01:38:41 | Speaker 5:

It's like, oh, no. Oh, really? Oh, no. Now I know it's a Jeep. Oh, thank you.

01:38:41 - 01:38:48 | Speaker 4:

but wouldn't it be great if you had a jeep and you put a cadillac sticker on it just out of the

01:38:48 - 01:38:54 | Speaker 6:

blue right and just throw people off like oh my friend in high school he got a hand-me-down from

01:38:54 - 01:39:14 | Speaker 9:

his parents of a bmw and we're all like oh my gosh you got a bmw well he hated everybody talking about so much he pried the front emblem off the bmw and glued on a volkswagen what a plastic Volkswagen logo thing on the front. I was like, oh my gosh, if you ever resell that car, people are going to hate you. Whatever makes you feel

01:39:14 - 01:39:22 | Speaker 4:

better, I guess. Drew, everybody's texting, Mojo's lame because I said I don't like stickers on my cars. Is today their first day

01:39:22 - 01:39:23 | Speaker 9:

listening?

01:39:24 - 01:39:30 | Speaker 4:

Join the club. I have a sticker like that, and it's right here. It's in the studio. What's going on, Erica?

01:39:31 - 01:39:40 | Speaker 1:

Hey, so speaking of Volkswagen, my parents drive a Volkswagen bus. And they're going to kill me because I don't remember the year. I want to say it's like an 84.

01:39:40 - 01:39:41 | Speaker 4:

Oh, that's great.

01:39:41 - 01:39:50 | Speaker 1:

And I don't know exactly how many windows are on a bus. Every single one of those windows is covered. You can't see out any of the back windows.

01:39:50 - 01:39:59 | Speaker 9:

Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Well, that's such a tradition for those old bugs, those old little bands. I love those. They're so cute, but all the owners always sticker them to death. Yeah.

01:40:00 - 01:40:05 | Speaker 5:

Those are so cool, and those people, by the way, are so stoned, they can't see out their window anyway.

01:40:05 - 01:40:12 | Speaker 4:

How about the people that put the marathon stickers on that they got to brag they ran 26.2 or whatever it is?

01:40:12 - 01:40:13 | Speaker 6:

Is that what those numbers are?

01:40:13 - 01:40:19 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Oh, I had no idea what that was. I'm like, yeah, well, then why are you driving? Why don't you run to work?

01:40:19 - 01:40:21 | Speaker 5:

My favorite are the ones making fun of it.

01:40:22 - 01:40:23 | Speaker 1:

They're right, like. 0.0.

01:40:24 - 01:40:27 | Speaker 5:

Yes. Tank, what's up, buddy?

01:40:28 - 01:40:29 | Speaker 2:

What's going on, Mojo?

01:40:30 - 01:40:32 | Speaker 5:

Nothing much, man. You don't put stickers on your car, do you?

01:40:33 - 01:40:52 | Speaker 2:

No, man. My uncle take parts off and replace them. Like, he took a towel and turned it into an Escalade. He took the front end off the doors, the back door, everything that made it look like an Escalade. He just added it on. I mean, it all bolts right up, you know?

01:40:52 - 01:40:56 | Speaker 5:

Wait, did he do that because he didn't have the parts, the proper parts?

01:40:56 - 01:41:07 | Speaker 2:

No, he just wanted to do it, man. You got, it's crazy You got like these peanut butter leather seats inside And it's fucking Cadillac And it's a Yukon Wow

01:41:07 - 01:41:21 | Speaker 5:

That's funny Tank, thank you for the word I dumped it anyway I figured Tank is Tank did the He did the F-U And then part of the C

01:41:21 - 01:41:25 | Speaker 4:

He realized he was on the radio And changed it

01:41:25 - 01:41:32 | Speaker 5:

Exactly Alright Derek what's up one last call Derek because you side with me go ahead

01:41:32 - 01:41:50 | Speaker 3:

So I side with you Because of the fact that I just Don't have stickers on my cars I've never had them on my cars I think It kind of ruins cars especially for like Reselling them and everything like that I like it personalized Thank you

01:41:50 - 01:41:51 | Speaker 5:

I appreciate that

01:41:51 - 01:42:04 | Speaker 3:

Yeah I just Kind of ruins them for me You can take a sticker off It's not somebody can take a sticker off, but it just kind of like it. Sometimes they don't just come off.

01:42:05 - 01:42:15 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I the only sticker that I want people to have on their cars. I side with Mojo. That's what I want you to do. We're selling those in the Mojo store, so you get that sticker and put it on my car.

01:42:15 - 01:42:16 | Speaker 3:

Thank you, Derek.

01:42:16 - 01:42:24 | Speaker 5:

I appreciate that. All right. Topic's over with. All right. Mojo in the morning show. What do you got in the dirty coming up here in moments?

01:42:24 - 01:42:39 | Speaker 1:

I'm going to kind of recap what happened on Capitol Hill yesterday with this ticket master Taylor Swift case that's been big, dirty, and also make fun of all of the senators who decided to try and use Taylor Swift lyrics in their testimony.

01:42:40 - 01:42:52 | Speaker 5:

And you know they didn't know the lyrics. It was a staffer that wrote it for them, probably. All right, Mojo on the morning show. So, hey, Mike, how is Adam doing, the five at 655 guy?

01:42:54 - 01:42:57 | Speaker 4:

He's working for our company now. Yeah, he's now working in West Michigan.

01:42:57 - 01:43:01 | Speaker 5:

I got a message from him that he interviewed with Dave and got a job.

01:43:02 - 01:43:31 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, so he hasn't started yet, but he got the producer role for Wood News here in West Michigan, which is awesome because him and I go back a little bit. I mean, I don't know him, know him, but I know him through the show, and we we've talked a million hardcore mojo in the morning listener yeah yeah yeah we've he's dm'd me um before he was on five at 655 and he's like man i'm really trying to get into radio this is what i've done do you have any tips and i would just chat with him about radio stuff and i'd give

01:43:31 - 01:44:05 | Speaker 5:

him a cool guy yeah he's a stay-at-home dad um who lives in kalamazoo and actually wants to be on radio so bad he paid for himself to go to a radio convention in chicago called morning show boot camp to meet radio people that's right and then spurred it on that he wanted to come work for our show we didn't have any openings here he was willing to drive from Kalamazoo to Detroit every day to work for us yeah and then said hey well maybe we can find him something in Grand Rapids and uh he ended up the right position opened up and now he's on he's on wood yeah well

01:44:05 - 01:44:14 | Speaker 6:

yeah he will be here in I think a week or so yeah yeah it's cool because him and I like you ever meet somebody and you just instantly vibe with them yeah i love that well he was kind of like

01:44:14 - 01:44:19 | Speaker 4:

you like in that you he hustled he but he said he didn't take no for an answer he's like i'm

01:44:19 - 01:44:41 | Speaker 5:

gonna make this happen he manifested and he talks a lot oh yeah you can't get him off the phone he's like he's like you mike yeah i know yeah yeah that's why two guys are gonna by the way you two guys are never gonna stop you're gonna be in the hallways bumping into each other talking that and stuff we're never gonna get work done it will never happen uh but it's gonna it's gonna

01:44:41 - 01:44:59 | Speaker 6:

be awesome because like there are very few people in in a lot of buildings but like in west michigan there are very few people like in the building right now so it'll be nice to have another person here to chat with and he's got kids so we could talk about a lot of stuff he's the nicest guy yeah my only my only concern is i i don't i know him through like dms and stuff i don't personally know

01:45:00 - 01:45:34 | Speaker 3:

his character you know what i mean i don't know who he is outside of the you know just chatting with him back and forth so like when they asked me hey do you know this guy i was like yeah yeah you know he's a big mojo in the morning fan he he seems like a really nice guy he i chat with him all the time about radio stuff he's very into it but i specified and said i don't i don't know him outside of that my concern is if he screws up if he messes this up and he does something just terrible i don't know what he would do i'm sure he's not going to but if he does you know that's coming back to me that's coming back to like mike was mike mike suggested this is mike's guy so

01:45:34 - 01:46:02 | Speaker 4:

anytime he messed it up oh that's mike's guy you know what this is like this is like co-signing for someone and they don't pay the bill yeah and you got you get stuck with it has anybody ever had that happen to them has anybody ever recommended a friend for a position or job at their work and the friend spit on them by doing such a horrible job you'll have to call us up 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 um this can happen in just about anything can happen in jobs it It can happen in, you know, apartment leases.

01:46:03 - 01:46:04 | Speaker 1:

I just got a text yesterday.

01:46:05 - 01:46:06 | Speaker 4:

Dates? Setting somebody up on a date?

01:46:06 - 01:46:13 | Speaker 2:

I have had that backfire as much as I love setting people up. I don't know. It's nerve-wracking.

01:46:13 - 01:47:01 | Speaker 1:

Well, the text I got yesterday was from an old radio friend that I worked with at the last radio station. So we're going back 24 years now since I worked with him. And he hasn't been in radio in years. He's done a lot of other things. But he's like, hey, I know we only talk like once a year, but could I use you as a reference? You are you are a big and then curse word American major market radio dude. It would help me get this job. So I'm like, of course. But I mean, geez, it's been so long. Are they really going to go back to a reference that's so far ago, like back to our very earliest radio job? And he's like, oh, well, if they ask, I worked with you way more recently, like last year. It's like, oh, now I'm uncomfortable. I don't know. Can I give a reference? And they're going to ask, well, when did you work with them? Am I supposed to say last year? And then they're going to start asking questions. And I don't know anything about it. It's been 24 years.

01:47:02 - 01:47:51 | Speaker 4:

It's funny. I've had reference or I've had more people call for references now in the last year than in past. Before it used to be, they just hire you and then you'd never get a phone call. Somebody would say, hey, you might get a call from somebody. But this past year, I've had so many of them. But my favorite, you know, the Ellen one where Ellen was the company she's going to work for, they asked me questions that at one point it felt like the survey that you get from the car company when you buy a car. Yeah. And I was like, at one point I said to them, I go, listen, I feel like I have done more work for Ellen to get work than I have ever done for me. This is unbelievable, the questions they ask. But you know what? That's a great company. It's a big company that works with some major clients. What's up, Jade?

01:47:52 - 01:47:53 | Speaker 2:

Morning, Mojo. How are you guys?

01:47:54 - 01:48:05 | Speaker 4:

Good. What's going on? We're talking about Mike giving Adam a reference, and we're wondering, God forbid, he screws things up. Does it come back on Mike?

01:48:05 - 01:48:08 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I will never give a reference ever again.

01:48:09 - 01:48:10 | Speaker 4:

Uh-oh. Why? What happened?

01:48:11 - 01:48:38 | Speaker 2:

When I was 16, I got one of my good friends a job, just like a local pizza joint here in Macomb. And I think maybe a month in, she started dating a manager who was way too old. Her mom called one day while I was at work, and she had ran away from home with our manager. Oh, my gosh. Wow. I will never put back somebody for a job ever again.

01:48:39 - 01:48:41 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my gosh. I mean, you could have never seen that coming.

01:48:42 - 01:48:44 | Speaker 2:

No, I mean, it was something from a movie.

01:48:44 - 01:48:50 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. You know what, though? It actually did kind of work out. You think about it It's a love story

01:48:50 - 01:48:54 | Speaker 2:

Brittany what happened to you

01:48:54 - 01:48:58 | Speaker 4:

When you gave somebody a reference Britt

01:48:58 - 01:49:00 | Speaker 2:

Brittany

01:49:00 - 01:49:07 | Speaker 4:

Lost her Well no I'm going to go to you next Brittany hung up on me What's going on Patricia

01:49:07 - 01:49:15 | Speaker 2:

Yeah so my brother got a job from my husband And so then he got fired Because he stole somebody's iPhone out of their locker

01:49:15 - 01:49:18 | Speaker 4:

Wow Wow. So he's a thief.

01:49:19 - 01:49:23 | Speaker 2:

He got caught on camera, unfortunately, but it did not look poorly on my husband, fortunately.

01:49:24 - 01:49:29 | Speaker 4:

That's the worst when you have family members that you give references to and they turn out to screw you, you know?

01:49:30 - 01:49:31 | Speaker 1:

I mean, all you can say is like...

01:49:31 - 01:49:34 | Speaker 2:

Yes, and he said, never again. He would never refer to somebody again.

01:49:34 - 01:49:36 | Speaker 1:

He didn't steal anything when he was here. I don't know.

01:49:37 - 01:49:51 | Speaker 4:

Hold on one sec. Do I have to dial nine on this line or just dial out? Not on the bottom one, no. Okay. Uh-uh-uh. I'm like the slowest dialer ever on this thing.

01:49:51 - 01:49:52 | Speaker 3:

It never works, though.

01:49:53 - 01:49:59 | Speaker 4:

And I wish that the numbers were closer to my hand. I have to reach so far for the numbers.

01:50:00 - 01:50:06 | Speaker 2:

See me doing phone scams with my little arms. You probably have to have, like. I have an assistant come in to dial. To dial the thing?

01:50:06 - 01:50:12 | Speaker 4:

Hold on. I'm going to see. I know he'd be thrilled if we called to congratulate him. I was going to call Adam.

01:50:13 - 01:50:14 | Speaker 2:

Your call has been forwarded.

01:50:14 - 01:50:15 | Speaker 4:

He bumped us?

01:50:15 - 01:50:30 | Speaker 3:

Now, Mr. Radio Guy? Where is he? He's in the news, so he's talking to the governor, I'm sure. Wait. Oh, is he there right now? No, I don't think so. I don't know. When does he start? He just got the job. He just accepted the offer.

01:50:30 - 01:50:33 | Speaker 2:

Hello? Yeah, he just didn't know our number.

01:50:33 - 01:50:34 | Speaker 3:

You just bumped us.

01:50:34 - 01:50:40 | Speaker 4:

We were talking about you, Adam. Oh, I was like half asleep. Adam. Good morning.

01:50:40 - 01:50:43 | Speaker 3:

Welcome to the radio business, buddy.

01:50:43 - 01:50:50 | Speaker 2:

Thank you guys so much. We're so excited for you. You've made a terrible mistake. Yeah.

01:50:51 - 01:50:58 | Speaker 4:

And the coolest thing about you is this is like a late in life career. I mean, not that you're old. What are you, 30-something?

01:50:58 - 01:50:59 | Speaker 1:

I'm 34.

01:51:00 - 01:51:04 | Speaker 4:

34 years old, and he's choosing to go into radio. What was the career that you did before this?

01:51:05 - 01:51:18 | Speaker 1:

Oh, man, I've done a bunch of things. I was a recruiter for Western Michigan, trying to get kids to go to college there. And then I was a church musician and tech guy for a while. And so I've kind of been all over the place.

01:51:18 - 01:51:23 | Speaker 4:

Boy, you've gone down the rungs of things right now. You have now just gone to hell. I just want you to know that.

01:51:24 - 01:51:28 | Speaker 1:

I mean, if I learned anything at morning show boot camp, my liver is not prepared.

01:51:28 - 01:51:48 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, we didn't even mention that. He actually paid very expensive rate to go to like a radio convention to learn more about the business. We all say nice things about you because we meet a lot of people that want to get into radio and we're like, okay, cool, good luck. But you actually, we've all had private conversation with you. We really like you, but now we're nervous if you mess up, our names are going to be on.

01:51:48 - 01:51:49 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, so basically don't lift it up.

01:51:49 - 01:52:02 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I know. I'm low-key terrified of that. Actually, talk about the high rate. I actually kind of pulled something. So my wife works at a college now, and I enrolled in a class for free so I could get the student rate for boot camp.

01:52:02 - 01:52:09 | Speaker 2:

Oh, that's so cool. Wait, that's smart. That's smart. That shows you can work the angles and figure out the problem. That's good.

01:52:09 - 01:52:24 | Speaker 4:

Adam, here's the deal, because I know we all kind of gave you good marks with Dave and everybody there, Dave and Tim and stuff. This is what you got to do, though. If you screw up on your way out, if you get fired, say, Mike recommended me. We're going to blame Mike for the whole thing, okay?

01:52:25 - 01:52:26 | Speaker 1:

For sure. Yeah, I'll do that.

01:52:26 - 01:52:34 | Speaker 4:

And there's a time limit on when you two talkative dads can – you can't talk forever, okay? Can't keep each other at the bathroom, all right?

01:52:34 - 01:52:39 | Speaker 1:

Well, I told Mike when he was getting evicted from his office that if they give me one, we could share.

01:52:39 - 01:52:45 | Speaker 2:

Oh, wait. What did you do? Oh, my gosh. Can you imagine they're kicking Mike out of the office he's had for like a decade,

01:52:45 - 01:52:54 | Speaker 3:

And if they actually gave it to the new guy, I will, I will squat on your desk and leave

01:52:54 - 01:52:55 | Speaker 2:

a grumpy.

01:52:58 - 01:53:05 | Speaker 4:

Congratulations to you, man. Thank you guys so much. We're so happy for you and good luck to you. Best of luck on everything. Okay.

01:53:05 - 01:53:22 | Speaker 1:

Thanks. Thank you guys for everything. You're awesome. And honestly, seriously, like my only thing I could say for people is if there's something you want to do, go after it. Like, like I'm shocked. I still wake up every day thinking it's not going to be real. And it's apparently going to be soon once HR figures stuff out.

01:53:23 - 01:53:27 | Speaker 4:

What about me wanting to be a bodybuilder? Do you think that there's any hope?

01:53:28 - 01:53:30 | Speaker 1:

I mean, you got that heart thing that I do.

01:53:32 - 01:53:40 | Speaker 4:

Now he's funny guy. Now he's, you notice that about him? Now he's a Mr. Radio guy before. We've never done that before. So.

01:53:40 - 01:53:41 | Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh.

01:53:41 - 01:53:42 | Speaker 4:

Thank you, buddy. I appreciate it.

01:53:42 - 01:53:43 | Speaker 1:

Thank you guys.

01:53:43 - 01:53:44 | Speaker 4:

All right. Take care of yourself.

01:53:44 - 01:53:45 | Speaker 3:

You too.

01:53:45 - 01:53:45 | Speaker 4:

All right, bye.

01:53:46 - 01:53:55 | Speaker 3:

If you like this weather, come on over here so I can give you a face wash. This is Mojo in the Morning. Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

01:53:55 - 01:53:58 | Speaker 4:

All right, Shannon, with an update on what's trending right now. Shannon, what you got?

01:53:58 - 01:54:36 | Speaker 5:

So Ticketmaster, just as we kind of told you yesterday was going to happen, blamed a cyber attack for all of the issues surrounding the ticket sale for Taylor's Eras Tour. Joe Berchtold is president of Ticketmaster's parent company, Live Nation, And he said in a statement yesterday on Capitol Hill that, you know, it was a debacle. Some valuable lessons were learned. And he did apologize to Swifties for what he admitted was a terrible consumer experience. And he said, in hindsight, you know, there are several things we could have done better. And Megan called this yesterday when we were talking about it. Of course, all of the senators thought they were just hysterical making Taylor Swift song references.

01:54:37 - 01:54:42 | Speaker 2:

As a ode to Taylor Swift, I will say we know all too well.

01:54:42 - 01:54:48 | Speaker 4:

May I suggest respectfully that Ticketmaster ought to look in the mirror and say, I'm the problem.

01:54:49 - 01:54:57 | Speaker 1:

It's me. One more Taylor Swift quote. Karma is a relaxing thought. Aren't you envious that for you it's not? That's all I've got to say.

01:54:57 - 01:54:59 | Speaker 5:

Please vote for me. Please.

01:55:00 - 01:55:09 | Speaker 2:

I thought this was good. Last night on Colbert's show, he did like a little parody of all of these guys that were doing this on Capitol Hill.

01:55:12 - 01:55:31 | Speaker 4:

Did you miss the Taylor Swift concert due to a Ticketmaster mix-up? Well, we here at Ticketmaster have a way to make up for it by releasing exclusive tickets to the Ticketmaster hearing, featuring your favorite senators performing your favorite Taylor Swift songs. You'll hear Senator Blumenthal crooning anti-hero.

01:55:31 - 01:55:33 | Speaker 5:

I'm the problem. It's me.

01:55:33 - 01:55:47 | Speaker 4:

Senator Klobuchar belting out all too well. All too well. And of course, Senator Lee's rendition of You Belong With Me. She's chair captain and I'm on the bleachers. It's all the excitement of a Taylor Swift concert.

01:55:47 - 01:56:42 | Speaker 2:

Everybody knew that they were going to do that yesterday. In Other Dirty Today, Kanye West is allegedly planning a visit to Australia to meet his new wife, Bianca Sensori's family. She grew up in Melbourne. And it's going to be interesting because I know he was just condemned by a government minister for all of those anti-Semitic comments involving Hitler and the Holocaust that we talked about in the Dirty for so many days. But Minister for Education Jason Clare said, others who have made similar statements have been denied visas into Australia. So we'll see if this trip to meet his new in-laws even happens. Speaking of the Kim Kanye Pete Davidson appears to have had His tattoos dedicated to Kim Kardashian Removed This doesn't really surprise me He was spotted shirtless in Hawaii Over the weekend with his girlfriend And missing in action We're all for tattoos Including the famous My girl is a lawyer tattoo So he's already covered him up

01:56:42 - 01:56:44 | Speaker 4:

He should consider just putting stickers On his card

01:56:44 - 01:57:57 | Speaker 2:

A woman is swing boxing legend Mike Tyson For five million dollars after accusing him of raping her inside a limousine in the early 1990s. The woman remains anonymous. She says she met Tyson at a nightclub in Albany. She's seeking $5 million in damages, and she said the story is this. He allegedly invited her into his limo after offering to pick up her friend and take them both to a party. She says he came on to her as soon as they were in the limo. He began touching her, attempting to kiss her. She claims, quote, I told him no several times and asked him to stop, But he continued to attack me. He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me. Now, this woman was able to file her lawsuit, excuse me, in accordance with the newly adopted Adult Survivors Act, which permits sexual assault victims to litigate over attacks that would have previously exceeded the statute of limitation. So that's why she's coming forward. And Dave Matthews Band, if you are a fan, is returning with a new album and a full summer tour in support of it. They've announced that Walk Around the Moon is their 10th studio album. It will drop on May 19th. I'm not a DMV fan. I know a lot of people are. But the first release is this song. It's called Mad Men's Eyes.

01:57:59 - 01:58:00 | Speaker 5:

J.E. is excited right now.

01:58:00 - 01:58:01 | Speaker 2:

Oh, is he like the biggest fan?

01:58:02 - 01:58:03 | Speaker 5:

Oh, he goes to every concert.

01:58:03 - 01:58:06 | Speaker 4:

This is a big market for them. Detroit's one of their most popular towns.

01:58:06 - 01:58:10 | Speaker 2:

Yep, tickets for their North American tour go on sale next month.

01:58:10 - 01:58:16 | Speaker 5:

I can't believe you gave Dave Matthews' band this much time. But you still haven't talked about the Nickelback tour.

01:58:16 - 01:58:18 | Speaker 2:

Well, didn't you guys talk about it when I wasn't here?

01:58:19 - 01:58:24 | Speaker 5:

No, we didn't. Oh, you posted about it. Do you think Megan would? Well, they haven't announced dates yet, have they? You posted about it, though. I think they just said once coming.

01:58:24 - 01:58:28 | Speaker 2:

On social media, so I assumed you talked about it. No. Even when I'm not doing the dirties, I still get complained about.

01:58:29 - 01:58:32 | Speaker 5:

Equal opportunity next hour. You got to do it. Oh, God.

01:58:32 - 01:58:33 | Speaker 2:

I feel like we've talked about it a lot.

01:58:33 - 01:58:33 | Speaker 5:

No.

6548 text 95500 so yesterday I went to Planet Fitness and did not take a picture and post it on social media like Reese does all the time I can make fun of him he's not in here right now

02:00:17 - 02:00:22 | Speaker 4:

some would say mentioning it on the air is the audio version of taking a picture

02:00:22 - 02:01:11 | Speaker 2:

it's much better that's why I'm bringing it up on the air it gets a little bit more people to see it So I go and I've been trying to be consistent with how I'm working out and stuff. And my workouts are very simple. Honestly, it's just me going, just getting some activity and getting some cardio in. I notice a very interesting gentleman show up. And I'm going to call this guy Mr. Rogers. And here's the reason why I'm going to call him Mr. Rogers. He's like maybe 50-ish, late 50s. he comes to the gym he gets on a treadmill just a few away from where I am in his clothes and he's Mr. Rogers to me because he was dressed like Mr. Rogers he had the sweater on

02:01:11 - 02:01:12 | Speaker 3:

the cardigan

02:01:12 - 02:01:47 | Speaker 2:

well it wasn't a cardigan Mr. Rogers used to always have the cardigan it was a pullover sweater with what do they call those the button up shirts that have the collars that have the buttons on them or something I know they have something and Oxfords or I don't know, maybe something like that. And he had that on, and he had on gym shoes, so he was wearing gym shoes. But here's the thing. He changed into his gym shoes while he was getting ready to go up on the treadmill. He sat down for a second, kind of had his shoes there, put his gym shoes down. And you know how Mr. Rogers would do that at the beginning of the show?

02:01:48 - 02:01:51 | Speaker 4:

He'd sit on the bench and just change his sweater and his sneakers.

02:01:51 - 02:01:53 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

02:01:53 - 02:01:57 | Speaker 4:

A beautiful day for a neighbor. Oh, he raised me as a child.

02:01:57 - 02:02:15 | Speaker 2:

And I'm watching this thing, and I'm going, this is Mr. Rogers. And he didn't have – here we go. So he walks in, sits down, puts his gym shoes right next to him, sits down, and then – remember, Mr. Rogers used to pick one up at a time, and he'd, like, throw him to his other hand and stuff? Here he goes.

02:02:18 - 02:02:23 | Speaker 1:

It's a beautiful day at the Planet Fitness neighborhood. A beautiful day for Planet Fitness.

02:02:24 - 02:03:12 | Speaker 2:

Won't you be mine? won't you be my neighbor and he got right on the treadmill in his full-on clothes and i saw that and i thought to myself i'm like man this guy is a genius i had to go home and actually change and then drive up there i could have gone all the way home i could have worked out right in my stuff do you know people that do this are there any people that actually go and they work out in their clothes and then go right maybe they go even right back to work because he walked out of that place wearing the same old clothes. He put his coat back on. Does he stink? I don't know. First off, I was on for 18 minutes or so, and then I kind of stuck around for a little bit, and I tried to do one of the stair climbers. I can't do the things. That's what I'm going to do. That's the thing that makes me sweat like on.

02:03:12 - 02:03:48 | Speaker 3:

Your buns will burn. So it's funny you say that. So I was on the stair climber the other day when I was at Planet Fitness, and a kid, first of all, there was nobody else on any of the stair climbers, And he comes and uses the one right next to me, which I always hate. But okay, that's fine. But he was wearing, I didn't even, I think he was wearing a sweatshirt. He was wearing like gym, like jersey shorts. You know what I'm talking about? But then he had on like regular slouchy tube socks and slip-on Vans. Like I know some people wear flat Vans or Converse to lift weights, but this was like.

02:03:48 - 02:03:50 | Speaker 2:

I wonder how much support you get. I don't know.

02:03:50 - 02:03:55 | Speaker 3:

No, I just thought it was so, I kept looking down, and I'm like, that cannot be comfortable for you.

02:03:55 - 02:04:50 | Speaker 2:

And it's funny, because I don't, like, try to dress like a fashion show when I'm going. I mean, I look, you know, I'm, you know, I was in a pair of shorts. I actually was in a pair of shorts and a sweatshirt and stuff. But there are some people that take it to one extreme. Like, they'll dress like amazing. You know, they got their leggings on and all that stuff, and they look, you know, with makeup and stuff. And then there's Mr. Rogers, who Mr. Rogers is like in his sweater, like I felt like underdressed. I felt like I was like not appropriate for going into to work out at Planet Fitness. Oh, by the way, somebody was asking me, they said somebody's text and said, Mojo, is is is he ethnic? And I think he is. Maybe this is something because I think I could guess he's probably either a Chaldean guy or like an Albanian guy. that's what he kind of uh kind of looked like i was thinking that too because whenever i see

02:04:50 - 02:05:00 | Speaker 4:

people dressed up to exercise it's usually like an older gentleman who's who's of arab or arab american descent like same width

02:05:00 - 02:05:10 | Speaker 1:

shoveling the driveway, when I drive through the neighborhood and I see an older guy out shoveling, he's always like a Chaldean guy who's 70, but he's in his really nice dress shoes and a sweater, like he just came

02:05:10 - 02:05:20 | Speaker 2:

from work. Do you guys remember me telling you the story of the man in my neighborhood who mows his lawn in his dress shoes, khaki pants, like his whole work outfit, and that's how

02:05:20 - 02:05:29 | Speaker 3:

he mows the lawn. This gave me a little bit of anxiety thinking that I was underdressed. Does that do that for you, if you see the guy dressed like that? No. I just

02:05:29 - 02:05:36 | Speaker 2:

You have to think he's so uncomfortable, and wherever he's going after this, he's going to stink a little bit if he got a good workout in.

02:05:36 - 02:06:34 | Speaker 3:

The other thing, too, is I thought he doesn't have to wash a lot of clothes. Like, Chelsea gets on me for how much laundry that I leave. She's like, how many times a day are you changing your clothes? This is a guy that obviously only needs to change his clothes, you know, once a day. Go home and put on his comfy clothes. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-654. Are there any listeners of ours that either them or a family member like dress up to go do something that we would be like, why are you dressed up to go do something like that? Like, why is that? Like, I always love it when, you know, you'll talk to like my aunt is one of those people. She gets she gets like Christmas mass dressed up to go to the doctor's office. Like she gets like in and does it like she's got beautiful earrings on and all this stuff. And I'm like, you've got to put on one of those, you know, crazy gowns for your doctor. But she's like, I want to look good. She wants to make sure that she looks good for her dog.

02:06:34 - 02:06:38 | Speaker 2:

It's all about feeling a certain way, too. You feel good when you're dressed nice.

02:06:39 - 02:06:43 | Speaker 3:

Here's the thing. I think it's mainly that generation, though. Because I just don't think that.

02:06:44 - 02:07:01 | Speaker 2:

Well, because we talked about airplanes. About how back in the day, people used to dress up. That was a really big, special thing to go on an airplane. I mean, I can remember my mom dressing us. We didn't go on an airplane very often. But when we did, she dressed us very nicely. And now we all just go for cozy, you know, comfy. Pajamas and crocs.

02:07:02 - 02:07:09 | Speaker 1:

Ask your parents, ask your grandparents what they used to wear on Sundays to go shopping at Hudson's. Oh, my gosh. They used to put their Sunday best on.

02:07:09 - 02:07:15 | Speaker 3:

I went to Red Robin with Chelsea and Luke. And there was a table right next to us where the kids were all in their pajamas.

02:07:16 - 02:07:22 | Speaker 2:

They were probably my kids. They love wearing their pajamas out to dinner and whatever. Go for it.

02:07:22 - 02:07:23 | Speaker 3:

Mojo in the morning, hello.

02:07:23 - 02:07:25 | Speaker 2:

It's my mother

02:07:25 - 02:07:37 | Speaker 4:

You are talking about my mother My mother dresses up For every single occasion I'm talking heels in the grocery store Parent teacher conferences She's fully fully dressed

02:07:37 - 02:07:44 | Speaker 3:

Man oh man she looks hot Going off to go grab Some milk or Carton of eggs over at Meijer

02:07:44 - 02:07:49 | Speaker 4:

The fact that she dresses up everywhere And I still don't have a stepdad I have a problem

02:07:49 - 02:08:28 | Speaker 5:

hey what's up marlene hey good morning i had an older aunt that always wore high heels and she i'd see her i'd come over i'd see her up on a stepladder she would be cleaning her front windows so finally she retires i never said anything till i got older she moved to florida we're at the beach and she still has high heels at the beach at the beach and i looked at her and i was old enough and i i felt i could handle it she i said have you always worn high heels to

02:08:28 - 02:08:37 | Speaker 3:

the beach and i got the stare down uh-oh doesn't she sink in like to the to the sand uh yeah and

02:08:37 - 02:08:45 | Speaker 5:

they were white wow that's wild she was in her 80s had the most beautiful calf because she always

02:08:45 - 02:08:53 | Speaker 3:

wore heels oh yeah sexy legs all right what's going on uh lisa hi good morning what's going on

02:08:53 - 02:09:14 | Speaker 6:

lisa oh i just wanted to say that i think it is a generation thing because both my parents are in their mid-70s and even as kids they would dress up like they were going to a wedding to go to doctors and we would just dress like bums and even now they dressed up and i'm like where you guys going they're like to the doctors i'm like it looks like you're going to a wedding yeah it's

02:09:14 - 02:09:23 | Speaker 3:

kind of cute it is cute and it's funny because we barely like put clothes on right i mean it's like i didn't even put underwear on to go to the doctors i know they've been taking them off

02:09:23 - 02:09:59 | Speaker 7:

rebecca hi hey what's happening um so i'm a single mom and i use i come from a small town and move from one small town to another and so the first small town i kind of grew up in i was really comfortable um i kind of just like dressed like the typical walmart people because i didn't go out very often especially during the winter and then um when i relocated i actually had an internship that i worked briefly but i'm still a stay-at-home mom but i have a lot of nice like suit clothes from marshall's and stuff um and i used to like when i would drop my kids off from Cool.

02:10:00 - 02:10:15 | Speaker 4:

or stop at, like, Wesco or whatever, people would act a lot differently. So every time I go out in public now, I always do my hair and a full face of makeup, and I'm always in my nice clothes. And people just, like, treat me completely different. That is interesting.

02:10:16 - 02:10:26 | Speaker 2:

Yep. And you're right. I'm sure you're right that you get treated very, very differently because you're not just in, like, sweatpants, hair, and a top knot. Yeah. Yeah. Yep.

02:10:26 - 02:10:32 | Speaker 3:

You know what? That's pretty awesome. So, yeah, I guess if you got the clothes, you might as well wear them, right?

02:10:33 - 02:10:33 | Speaker 4:

Right, exactly.

02:10:35 - 02:10:40 | Speaker 3:

Mojo in the morning show. Adrienne? Yes. Hi. Hey, what's up?

02:10:41 - 02:11:10 | Speaker 5:

Hi. So I always overdo. I get dressed up. I get my hair done, my makeup done, and then I go to the Secretary of State and I take my new photo. I've always hated, like, when my photos are terrible. So I always go prepared and people always say, oh my God, you have a beautiful driver's license and I, and they don't really know what goes into making it a beautiful license. So that's what I pretty much do. But when I go in there, it's hilarious. People are looking at me like, where is she coming from?

02:11:11 - 02:11:16 | Speaker 3:

You know what? I guess if your driver's license photo is going to last for a long time, you got it,

02:11:16 - 02:11:18 | Speaker 5:

right? Exactly. Exactly.

02:11:19 - 02:11:24 | Speaker 3:

It's funny. Cause I look at my driver's license photo and it was almost like I didn't even realize I was taking a photo that day.

02:11:24 - 02:11:29 | Speaker 2:

I am so pregnant in mine. And I've had it for so many years I cannot wait to get a new one

02:11:29 - 02:11:32 | Speaker 3:

Hey, have a great day, we'll see you, okay?

02:11:32 - 02:11:33 | Speaker 2:

You too

02:11:33 - 02:11:39 | Speaker 3:

Alright, bye Alright, Mojo in the morning Five lies to tell your mom

02:11:39 - 02:11:45 | Speaker 5:

It's Mojo in the morning Five lies to tell your mom

02:11:45 - 02:12:13 | Speaker 3:

02:12:14 - 02:12:14 | Unknown:

Okay.

02:12:14 - 02:12:19 | Speaker 3:

You're not in a fraternity now, are you? No. Okay, perfect. Lie number two.

02:12:19 - 02:12:23 | Speaker 1:

Say to get in, I had to sneak into the dean's office.

02:12:23 - 02:12:28 | Speaker 3:

Okay. Lie number three. And I had to poop on his desk.

02:12:29 - 02:12:30 | Unknown:

Oh, yes.

02:12:31 - 02:12:40 | Speaker 3:

She's going to be very disappointed in you. Lie number four. I'm in here right now, and I just did it. And lie number five.

02:12:41 - 02:12:43 | Speaker 2:

But the other guys locked the door and left.

02:12:44 - 02:12:54 | Speaker 3:

Okay. So you're going to have to make your mom believe that you're in your dean's office, and you just took a duty on his desk. Okay. And now you don't know how to get out of the office.

02:12:54 - 02:13:20 | Speaker 6:

okay hello hey mom hey how are you uh good uh well not so good right now but okay so So, um, well, I'm joining a frat.

02:13:21 - 02:13:21 | Speaker 4:

Okay.

02:13:22 - 02:13:25 | Speaker 6:

To get in, I had to sneak into the dean's office.

02:13:25 - 02:13:27 | Speaker 4:

Okay, you're lying.

02:13:27 - 02:13:47 | Speaker 6:

No, I'm not. Okay. But, so, like, you're going to be, all right, well, I get it. My initiation was I had to s*** on his desk. They locked the door and left me in here. Who did? My brother.

02:13:50 - 02:13:51 | Speaker 4:

Are you seriously embarrassed?

02:13:51 - 02:13:52 | Speaker 6:

I need help, Mom.

02:13:53 - 02:13:54 | Speaker 4:

What do you mean you need help? What do you want me to do?

02:13:55 - 02:13:57 | Speaker 6:

I don't know. I'm scared. What do I do?

02:13:57 - 02:13:59 | Speaker 4:

You're lost in the dean's office.

02:14:00 - 02:14:02 | Speaker 6:

And there's, yeah, and there's on the desk.

02:14:02 - 02:14:04 | Speaker 4:

Okay, well, clean up the .

02:14:05 - 02:14:05 | Speaker 6:

With what?

02:14:06 - 02:14:13 | Speaker 4:

With your t-shirt. I don't care. And then you call the dean and tell him.

02:14:13 - 02:14:17 | Speaker 6:

I don't know his number, Mom. I don't even know this guy.

02:14:18 - 02:14:19 | Speaker 4:

Okay, how'd you get in there?

02:14:20 - 02:14:39 | Speaker 6:

The door wasn't locked. Okay, so they locked you in there. You can't get out? Yeah. Are you serious? I need help. Mom, you've always told me to come to you, and I need help, and I need help right now.

02:14:40 - 02:14:42 | Speaker 4:

Okay, well, clean up the sh**, first of all.

02:14:42 - 02:14:56 | Speaker 6:

Okay. I can't walk out my shirt off I thought you left in there I am but when I clean up the and I might make my way out I'm gonna walk out with my shirt off

02:15:00 - 02:15:26 | Speaker 2:

you can't on somebody's desk what if I just throw it away huh what if I just put it in the trash can or something are you have you lost your mind it sounded like not a bad idea at the time so you seriously locked in there they said that like many of everyone had to do it Jack what do you want me to do

02:15:26 - 02:15:33 | Speaker 3:

I don't know Go ahead, Jack You can tell her

02:15:33 - 02:15:44 | Speaker 2:

Huh? Mom You remember When you told us You would never Be prank called By Mojo in the morning Yeah

02:15:44 - 02:15:47 | Speaker 3:

Hi, Mom How are you? It's Mojo in the morning

02:15:47 - 02:15:51 | Speaker 2:

You gotta be kidding me Mom

02:15:51 - 02:15:54 | Speaker 3:

You're on five lies To tell your mom

02:15:54 - 02:16:01 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. Oh, my God. And I told my kid to eat s**t.

02:16:04 - 02:16:05 | Unknown:

That's s**t.

02:16:06 - 02:16:15 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. I don't know if I should be relieved or pissed. You're eating s**t when you get home. We got five dogs. Is this for real?

02:16:15 - 02:16:25 | Speaker 3:

Well, the five lies aren't real, but you being on the radio is. and you just won a limo ride and dinner out for Five Lies to Tell Your Mom.

02:16:26 - 02:16:30 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. I'm relieved, I guess. I'm going to kill him.

02:16:31 - 02:16:35 | Speaker 3:

Don't say relieved after your son just did what he did on the dean's desk.

02:16:36 - 02:16:37 | Speaker 2:

But he really didn't, right?

02:16:37 - 02:16:39 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no, no, no, no. He didn't, no.

02:16:40 - 02:16:41 | Speaker 2:

It's Mojo in the morning.

02:16:43 - 02:16:44 | Unknown:

Sweet.

And if you have it on auto-download, you already know this because you got the alert that it already just came. All right, it is Mojo in the Morning Show. do not whatever you do after the big announcement yesterday do not ask spike one particular thing because he's gotten uh getting annoyed by this i know i have already asked him this i did it for you so that you don't have to ask him this but

02:18:01 - 02:19:43 | Speaker 1:

what what was everybody talking about every three months uh stop asking when's your proposal when are you getting married and it all started up again yesterday obviously because we shared the exciting news for shannon but it's actually becoming a little annoying now like how many people texted me yesterday and stop or stop me in the halls here at work and like you're next and after we broke shannon's news i got texts all day and dms like you better put a ring on it now or wink wink i hope you know the clock's ticking and it just it's just a line of question that we should probably remove from polite society is it making you feel pressure not pressure it's just irritating because for me it's almost as if people don't believe that my girlfriend meg and i can be in love because we're not engaged and i just want to remind people that everyone's on their own timeline some people get married after six months others after 60 years or never at all so like new listeners i've been divorced for two years i met my girlfriend when i wasn't even looking for a relationship we started dating like a year and a half ago and it's been going so well that we moved in together six months ago and we're sharing the bills because we both lived in separate places with a big commute in between so it's been the greatest decision i ever made i am so happy i am i've never been so happy and content with my life but then people come up to you like i got a message yesterday saying i hope you can find your true happiness now and you get engaged and like it's it's like people measure your happiness well you can't be happy yet you're not married you know and for me i'm like let's i am so excited to celebrate wes and shannon let's celebrate them Put the focus on you guys. Put the focus on them.

02:19:44 - 02:19:50 | Speaker 4:

The focus isn't on me. But you're right. You're so happy. You guys might never get married. And that's okay. We might not. It doesn't mean you don't love each other any less. Yeah.

02:19:51 - 02:20:00 | Speaker 1:

We've built a great life for each other and our kids. We don't feel like anything's missing. We've talked about our future and our beliefs align. And nobody else.

02:20:00 - 02:20:17 | Speaker 2:

has to worry about you'll find out when there's something to talk about did by at all though did you go home and did meg your girlfriend say oh look at that ring like what did she make a reference that made it seem like she was envious of that no what shannon has no so it never that

02:20:17 - 02:20:36 | Speaker 1:

never came up she heard she heard it uh shannon do the announcement live on the air and she texted me oh my gosh so exciting this is so exciting and also please don't ever do that big thing for me Like, what she likes is not what every woman would like in a big, big proposal. Let's read into that. Megan, Mike. Don't read into it.

02:20:37 - 02:20:40 | Speaker 2:

Reese, let's all read into it. I know. What does that mean?

02:20:40 - 02:21:09 | Speaker 1:

She's more laid back and doesn't want the big planned proposal. It means she didn't say she didn't want to get married. It means just don't give a damn. So this is the annoying part. I'm rolling my eyes if you can hear it on the radio right now. But the reason I want to bring it up is because you have no way of knowing. like for me it's just an eye roll it's just irritating because i had like 30 messages last night but for other people you might actually be causing some discomfort because you don't know what's going on the baby thing is an even bigger thing like when are you gonna have another kid

02:21:09 - 02:21:30 | Speaker 4:

i agree with you more because this is something i face all the time is she's unhappy because she's single she's unhappy because she's never gonna get married she's unhappy because she doesn't have kids she's like the fact that the majority of people have made it very clear that they only find happiness in marriage and kids is overwhelming yeah and for single women they get it way worse

02:21:30 - 02:21:48 | Speaker 1:

than i do and we've both been married meg and i both had previous marriages and so for us it's a different timetable of what we feel we need in our lives but it's driving people crazy they're like oh my gosh you haven't you've lived together now you should be married no that's an older

02:21:48 - 02:22:09 | Speaker 2:

generation belief i bet another one that comes the way because it has come my way so many times where people will ask me, and they might ask you guys this too unless they're afraid to. People ask me all the time why you guys got divorced, why Shannon got divorced, why you got divorced, what happened, who did what, what's going on, why did they do this thing? So did you guys ever get asked that question?

02:22:09 - 02:22:10 | Speaker 5:

All the time.

02:22:10 - 02:22:15 | Speaker 2:

All the time. Actually, people were bold enough to ask you that question, like why you got divorced?

02:22:15 - 02:22:37 | Speaker 5:

Still asking. So wildly inappropriate. Right. And after I got divorced, And I mean, I've been divorced for, God, going on four years. I got divorced in 2019. Yeah. Going on four years. Why aren't you dating? When are you going to date? Date, date, date, date, date, date. And it's just, I understand the curiosity. But here's the thing, though.

02:22:37 - 02:23:04 | Speaker 2:

You cannot be hypocrites, though, because we, as a show, always will ask that about celebrities. We'll ask why they got divorced. We'll sit there and speculate. We'll want to know when they're going to get married. When are they going to have a kid? Do this stuff. And so I say to you guys, listen, I'm not comparing ourselves to freaking Margot Robbie or any of the celebrities, but I'm saying that you can't be hypocritical in the fact that we go on the air and we're always going like this.

02:23:04 - 02:23:12 | Speaker 1:

But if they're putting it out there, if Kim Kardashian is making a big thing about dating Pete Davidson and bringing her around the work shows, that's the curiosity.

02:23:12 - 02:23:14 | Speaker 2:

We talk about our lives all the time.

02:23:14 - 02:23:23 | Speaker 1:

Right. And I shared with listeners that I got divorced and I shared a limited amount of information because there's children that are not on the radio that I have no interest in.

02:23:23 - 02:23:25 | Speaker 2:

So Kim Kardashian has children, too.

02:23:25 - 02:23:30 | Speaker 1:

And she drags them and does podcasts with them and puts them on her social media and TikTok videos.

02:23:30 - 02:23:38 | Speaker 2:

What I'm saying is it can annoy you, but you also have to be able to be sympathetic and empathetic to the celebrities, too, that are going through that.

02:23:38 - 02:24:28 | Speaker 1:

I'm not sitting here saying I'm a celebrity. I'm talking on behalf of all people, all women and all people that have to get this question on a daily basis. Because now, you know, Shannon, like if she was just a non-radio woman, if she was just in accounting, as soon as she gets married, then they start asking, what's the big date? And then as soon as you get married, then it's when are you having children? And then as soon as you have one children, it doesn't stop. They need a little brother or sister to play with. And people don't understand what's going on in personal lives that you may be harming someone by asking those questions. People are on their own timetable. Leave them alone. It diminishes everything else. Like, if you're asking my girlfriend, when are you getting married, when are you getting married, it almost sounds like you don't care about her professional achievements or her personal goals or her family relationships. You only care. You're measuring her success based on whether she has a man that gave her a ring. What do you think, Annie?

02:24:30 - 02:24:31 | Speaker 3:

Hello.

02:24:31 - 02:24:32 | Speaker 2:

What's going on?

02:24:32 - 02:25:24 | Speaker 3:

Oh, hi. Good morning. So I was just commenting that, you know, I've been with my significant other now for 10 years. And we are not married. It's a second relationship for both of us. Or, well, second, you know, big relationship because we were both married in the past. We both got together as we were going through our divorces. So, like, we're not looking for it. We've been together 10 years this month. We have three kids in addition to. other kids that we had with our first marriages so we have seven kids total and we are very happy like we've talked about getting married and we might get married like maybe in the next couple years and you know our families have asked us and everything else but like i wear a ring he wears a ring we're the happiest we've ever been so don't ask so yeah i mean so what's how about if i ask

02:25:24 - 02:25:28 | Speaker 7:

Instead of that, so what's the next step? Is that bad? No.

02:25:28 - 02:25:32 | Speaker 5:

Just revel in. Be happy for us right now. How about if I ask you what you're going to have for lunch today?

02:25:32 - 02:25:35 | Speaker 7:

This is the step. What are you going to have for lunch today? That's fine.

02:25:35 - 02:25:41 | Speaker 5:

I'm just going to start answering, in two weeks we're getting married. We just didn't tell you because we didn't want to invite you. Mo? Let them feel uncomfortable.

02:25:41 - 02:25:42 | Speaker 7:

What do you think, Mo?

02:25:44 - 02:26:05 | Speaker 4:

Okay. I wasn't talking about the two-week thing, but after people have been listening to you guys for like 10 plus years at least we we get invested just like you guys have provided for the community of detroit that you know people we care about you guys so like it's i don't always think it's like the i mean i guess most people are gossipy but like it's just wanting to know

02:26:05 - 02:26:10 | Speaker 5:

like are you okay everything's good but you hear us telling our stories every day on the air and

02:26:10 - 02:26:19 | Speaker 6:

what we're doing it doesn't just happen to people who aren't married on the show if anything if my wife isn't standing next to me in a certain picture if one kid's not in a picture the whole

02:26:19 - 02:26:31 | Speaker 5:

time yeah that's true let me reverse it but yesterday people commented on our facebook to shannon too soon on her engagement so it's like who asked your opinion you always you're right

02:26:31 - 02:26:54 | Speaker 4:

we always have those one-off people and i also want to tell megan being in your 40s and single also you're gay you must be gay if you're not is that is that what people say to you all the time I'm getting a roommate this right now Who is a female happens to be a female We're both big dog people and we want to set out Christmas cards and I feel like my whole Entire family is going to be like we knew it Yep

02:26:54 - 02:27:05 | Speaker 5:

Because what you're saying is this is what I think You should do you're not Like you're not saying are you happy how's life How are the kids you're saying here's what you need To be doing right now to be happy

02:27:05 - 02:27:07 | Speaker 7:

Bentley what's up

02:27:07 - 02:27:29 | Speaker 2:

Hey Mojo I love you guys In this conversation that last call You know what, you guys? We're so invested in your lives listening to you guys. I'm a longtime listener, and I called in. As a matter of fact, I was one of the gals who won the morning guessing game. You guys sent me the Toledo Zoo. It was fantastic.

02:27:31 - 02:27:32 | Speaker 7:

Back in the day or something?

02:27:33 - 02:28:13 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, back in the day. It was just a few months ago. But, Spike, I don't think it's entusive. I think it's people just it's conversation they just want to start a conversation out with you they know you everyone thinks they know you but we really don't and your personal life is what it is but we're invested in what you guys are doing like the joy you bring in the morning it's just fantastic yeah and listen I don't really I just don't think it's like they're being known to your gossipy I think it's just they say it's a start off conversation it's natural like oh you're gonna have kids oh when are you getting married oh hey what's going on i mean i don't know some people

02:28:13 - 02:28:20 | Speaker 7:

i don't think i don't think everybody i think what you're saying is i don't think everybody means it to be rude i think that they do it because they know and i understand that that's

02:28:20 - 02:28:42 | Speaker 5:

and i'm bringing it up because i don't think everybody i don't think most people mean to be rude but i don't think they understand what they're saying might be rude or off-putting to people like for like i'm not even worried about i understand people want to know about my life i'm not worried i'm saying on behalf of all people that some people don't want to get married ever some people want to get married but they don't want a big wedding ceremony and hey

02:28:42 - 02:28:51 | Speaker 2:

you know what say that hey we're not interested in getting married right now we're happy where we are and thanks for you know being concerned and i'll say that if someone talks to me and

02:28:51 - 02:29:17 | Speaker 5:

asks me that question i'll i'll let them know hey we're on our own timetable i right now megan i don't feel like anything's missing we're in no rush but i'm saying on behalf of all these other people don't realize when they say to other people that they might be making making people feel pressure or making me feel like they're not doing something right in life when it just means their way of loving and living is on a different timetable it doesn't also when we say say what's

02:29:17 - 02:29:43 | Speaker 1:

going on sometimes i do feel like it's kind of a lose-lose like if i say i want something then i some people will say i'm complaining some people will agree with me and vice versa it just feels like nobody's ever happy well i we've had the same lives out there so openly and then no matter what we do gets knocked down by somebody it does get a little bit like okay i'm trying over here or it's

02:29:43 - 02:29:59 | Speaker 5:

exhausting when then you're telling you no you're wrong no you're not gonna do it you're gonna get mad and we've had the conversation three times where i've been told i'm gonna get engaged this year and i'm gonna get married and they'll be next we've had bets on the show like three different times and like nobody wants to believe me when i say we're cool we're happy well i think

02:30:00 - 02:30:12 | Speaker 3:

Because on the show, we do things to prod everybody that we know bothers them to rile them up. That's been the nature of what we do on the show. The goal, we're like brothers and sisters poking fun at each other.

02:30:12 - 02:30:16 | Speaker 6:

I mean, truly, the only reason I got engaged is so you guys would just move on to somebody else.

02:30:16 - 02:30:20 | Speaker 4:

There's also a difference between us who knows each other's boundaries and strangers.

02:30:21 - 02:30:37 | Speaker 3:

Right. And to finish Shannon's thought on that one. And Wes is rich. That's why she got engaged to him. She did not want to make him go away. The guy is, did you guys know that he, people did not know this. That man has, he's from an empire, like a family empire.

02:30:37 - 02:30:39 | Speaker 6:

He's listening now going on.

02:30:39 - 02:30:40 | Speaker 3:

What's up? What's up, Ricky?

02:30:41 - 02:30:42 | Speaker 1:

Hey, how's it going, Mojo?

02:30:43 - 02:30:44 | Speaker 3:

Good. What's going on?

02:30:45 - 02:31:18 | Speaker 1:

I just wanted to comment on the subject. You know, I've been listening to you guys over 10 years. And, you know, we look at Kim Kardashian, everybody else getting divorced. We want to be nosy. But, you know, you guys like family You know, I was crushed when Shannon got divorced I went home telling my wife about it You know, she was like, what? Yeah, so it's like, you know, we're concerned Even with Spike, you know, I was crushed when he got divorced You know, he got kids You know, but at the same time, I don't think we're being nosy It's just like one big family Yeah, I understand that

02:31:18 - 02:31:52 | Speaker 6:

And even with the celebrities, with everybody You are invested And naturally, we're human beings We're nosy, we're curious And I think that and I've said this before in the past. I mean, you know, people are allowed to share what they want to share and people are allowed to not share what they want to keep private. And only, you know, that's privileged information that's further close in our circle. That's fine. We can speculate all we want on what happened with Kim and Kanye or what happened, you know, with members of this show. And if we choose to share, we share. If they choose to share, they do. And, you know, naturally speculation, whatever it's going to happen, they are reporting on you right now.

02:31:52 - 02:31:56 | Speaker 3:

and Blaine's dirty right now. That's great. That's good.

02:31:56 - 02:32:05 | Speaker 6:

But I do understand that. It's just, it doesn't mean that because people are curious, you even have to give an answer, you have to share, whatever. Say no comment.

02:32:06 - 02:32:08 | Speaker 4:

Just come to me, I'll overshare everything.

02:32:09 - 02:32:21 | Speaker 3:

Mike and I were talking yesterday. Mike, you were mentioning to me yesterday about how it's been such a thrill that you actually have gone out with your family and people will come up to the table and are huge fans of the show.

02:32:21 - 02:32:45 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I had it at the restaurant the other day. My son had a meltdown in the middle of the restaurant, and I thought they were staring at me because my son was having a meltdown. I felt so bad, and it turns out they listened to the show, and they sent over a dessert. Oh, my God, that is so nice. They're just nice, but I understand what you guys are saying, too, and I'm open to answering any questions or whatever, but there probably is a line somewhere.

02:32:46 - 02:33:09 | Speaker 2:

Well, I share, I mean, that's the reason I shared my divorce to begin with on the air because listeners could notice something was different in how I talked about my family and stuff. And I think, you know, I understand the curiosity. My comment is more about the people that were, they make a judgment comment. Like the messages I got said, I hope you can find your true happiness now. Or the clock is ticking. I'm like, it's not, actually. We're totally content.

02:33:09 - 02:33:13 | Speaker 3:

All I care. But I want to say something. Yes, Ricky, go ahead. Ricky, I got to move on eventually, okay?

02:33:13 - 02:33:14 | Speaker 1:

Okay, go ahead.

02:33:14 - 02:33:16 | Speaker 3:

Go ahead. Say your last comment. Go ahead.

02:33:16 - 02:33:35 | Speaker 1:

But I want to say to Shannon, that, Spike, you know, I pray, Shannon, that your marriage be this successful than the first marriage. I don't know what happened to the first marriage. It's not my business. But I was so happy that you got engaged. It's like you have a good guy. And I pray that you guys live happy. You're going to have problems here and there.

02:33:35 - 02:33:37 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, thanks, Ricky. I appreciate that.

02:33:37 - 02:33:41 | Speaker 1:

You know, and Spike, you okay. You'll be all right. So, keep going.

02:33:42 - 02:33:44 | Speaker 5:

You're okay.

02:33:44 - 02:34:06 | Speaker 3:

All I care is that Spike keeps getting fed by his girlfriend meg because it seems to me that she is feeding you amazingly oh my god she's an amazing ricky do you follow spike on his on radio spike on his instagram well i'm not on instagram you gotta go follow him i feel like meg cooks the most amazing meals every night of the week she

02:34:18 - 02:34:23 | Speaker 3:

that's her relaxing hobby you know what she doesn't she does not have in that kitchen that

02:34:23 - 02:34:43 | Speaker 2:

02:35:00 - 02:35:11 | Speaker 4:

chef-prepared meal. I'm going to keep that little kid occupied. So keep him out of the kitchen. And keep him out of the... Keep her from hearing, Mom, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy. Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

02:35:12 - 02:35:16 | Speaker 3:

Shannon with What's Trending in the Dirty on the 30. What do you got, Shannon? So this was

02:35:16 - 02:36:33 | Speaker 2:

a big surprise to wake up to this morning. Paris Hilton is a mom. I know she's wanted to be a mom. At least she's talked about being a mom for a while, but she secretly welcomed her first child with her husband, Carter Room. Their baby boy was born via surrogate we don't have a name yet when she captioned the photo that she posted of this little guy's hand in hers you are already loved beyond words every year the razzies the golden raspberry awards are handed out right around the same time as the academy awards and instead of recognizing the best in film the razzies recognize the industry's worst films and performances well Well, the Razzies are faced with some controversy this year. The movies being honored with a Razzie nomination include that Netflix movie Blonde about Marilyn Monroe. Disney's live action Pinocchio remake with Tom Hanks made the list this year. But the one nomination that has drawn some pretty extensive backlash is that of 12-year-old actress Ryan Keira Armstrong. She was nominated for Worst Actress for her role opposite Zac Efron in the movie Firestarter. And again, if you missed it, she's 12 years old. 12. So despite the movie flopping, a lot of people are saying a Razzie nomination for such a young child is mean-spirited and absolutely uncalled for.

02:36:33 - 02:36:36 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I think that's kind of not the nicest thing. A 12-year-old.

02:36:37 - 02:36:41 | Speaker 3:

I think the Razzies in general, nobody cares about them. The Razzies are stupid.

02:36:41 - 02:36:44 | Speaker 2:

For a second it was funny, but that was...

02:36:44 - 02:36:52 | Speaker 4:

The rest is when celebrities owned them, and like Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock went walking in with their Oscar to pick up their Razzies.

02:36:52 - 02:36:54 | Speaker 1:

Right, right, and admitted that their movies were god-awful.

02:36:54 - 02:36:59 | Speaker 3:

And all movies are Razzberries nowadays, because all movies blow. So, I don't know.

02:36:59 - 02:37:14 | Speaker 2:

The NFL has announced the pregame entertainment lineup for this year's Super Bowl. That's going down February 12th on Fox. Country Music singer Chris Stapleton is going to be doing the national anthem. Singer, songwriter, producer Babyface will sing America the Beautiful.

02:37:15 - 02:37:18 | Speaker 3:

That's wild. They pulled Babyface out? Yeah. I haven't heard from him in a while.

02:37:18 - 02:37:44 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Actress Cheryl Lee Ralph will perform Lift Every Voice and Sing. And of course, Rihanna doing the halftime show. Michigan All-American running back, Blake Corum, says his car was stolen earlier this month in Ann Arbor. His camouflage wrap 2017 Camaro that's got his BC2 logo on it was stolen from a parking garage between January 13th and January 17th according to the Ann Arbor Police Department.

02:37:44 - 02:37:45 | Speaker 3:

He's got a camo?

02:37:45 - 02:37:56 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, it's wrapped camo. And I know he tweeted yesterday that his parents used their hard-earned money to buy him this car after he graduated from high school. And he tweeted, God bless whoever stole it.

02:37:56 - 02:38:05 | Speaker 4:

Well, I guess we're going to know if we see it on the screen. I mean, how do you think you're getting away? Oh, right, it's camo. We're not going to see it. You're right, Monk. You don't use that.

02:38:06 - 02:38:18 | Speaker 1:

And Sam Smith was booted from online dating because the apps didn't believe Sam's accounts were real. Sam said their accounts frequently got deleted.

02:38:19 - 02:38:28 | Speaker 5:

I did Tinder once. I think I got chucked off of Tinder. I got chucked off of Hinge because they thought that I wasn't me. But I didn't verify my profile, so I should have done that.

02:38:29 - 02:38:33 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, Sam said that might have been the problem, was that the profiles weren't verified.

02:38:33 - 02:38:39 | Speaker 5:

See, if I was ever on those things, I would just be silly. Just silly pictures. Loves Velma, loves McDonald's.

02:38:39 - 02:39:04 | Speaker 2:

And real quick, this is breaking dirty right now, headlining this year's Faster Horses, if you're a fan of that festival. I think it's the 10th anniversary this year. Are you ready? Yeah. Megan, you're going to be so excited. Alongside the Zac Brown Band and Luke Bryan, Shania Twain, is going to be the headliner.

02:39:04 - 02:39:05 | Speaker 4:

That's huge.

02:39:05 - 02:39:12 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, July 14th through 16th at Michigan International Speedway. Shania, Zach Brown, Luke Bryan. It's going to be.

02:39:12 - 02:39:13 | Speaker 4:

So you know what that means?

02:39:13 - 02:39:14 | Speaker 1:

That's a great lineup right there.

02:39:15 - 02:39:27 | Speaker 4:

I wonder if that means she's going to be doing a tour because she did the residency, right? Wasn't she doing a little residency or something? I can't remember. I forget. Or maybe it's just a one-off. This has got to mean a tour is coming. Yeah, it's pretty cool.

02:39:28 - 02:39:33 | Speaker 2:

elaine was very nervous to go back to the dentist this week and

02:40:00 - 02:40:16 | Speaker 1:

her current situations. A few hours after her appointment, Spike gave her something completely different to worry about. He told her that the treatment that she received was probably going to make her teeth fall out. It's a Mojo in the Morning phone scam.

02:40:17 - 02:40:19 | Speaker 5:

You're home with the phone scams.

02:40:19 - 02:40:21 | Speaker 4:

Hi, baby. Can I ask you a question?

02:40:23 - 02:40:24 | Speaker 5:

This is Mojo in the Morning.

02:40:27 - 02:43:25 | Speaker 4:

Hello? Hi, this is Ralph from Workman's Dental Office. Can I speak to Elaine, please? Speaking. Oh, good. We got you. You were in here for a teeth cleaning this morning, right? Yes. Oh, boy. I hope it's not too late. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. What's going on? Did you ever have a bad day? Okay, well, here's the pickle. Here we go. When you last visited our offices, did you happen to get the fluoride treatment for which you were scheduled to receive? Yes. Oh, boy. Oh, dear me. Okay. Listen, how are your teeth looking? They look fine. Why? Oh, that's great. Okay. Here's the thing. The solution gel we used on your teeth was recalled because it's faulty, and some patients have experienced tooth discoloration and tooth loss. I'm sorry, what? People's teeth are falling out from the fluoride treatment. Are you kidding me right now? It's probable, okay? I don't know for sure. We're hearing that some patients this morning that their teeth are turning a yellow-orange color. And apparently, the stuff, it turns a rusty color before killing the root and the teeth fall out. What? I'm sorry. You're not going to floor a tree to make your teeth fall. I know. That's what we said, right? So we're trying to find out who used it, what's happening. And we're just keeping tabs. So I just wanted to warn you, because if you see weird things happen today, which is likely, then you should come and tell us right away. Are you kidding me? If my teeth start falling out today. I know you'd be upset. Dr. S*** has kind of warned you before to avoid sugary products. you get him on the phone right now i i don't have patience for this i could see you'd be upset i understand and that's why we're just asking patients to have patience if you start to see discoloration you call us back because it's likely but it doesn't mean necessarily your teeth will fall out it's only happened about 30 of the of the peoples oh my god you're okay that's hurtful to say we did give you free toothbrush and listerine so i feel like you're only focusing on the bad stuff about your visit what did the dentist see at the north pole a molar bear

02:43:25 - 02:43:45 | Speaker 4:

i'm just trying to lighten up things a little bit are you still there lane this is okay that's not something nice your son tony's listening and you shouldn't be talking like that your son tony called the mojo in the morning show this is spike and you've just been phone scammed all right that makes sense i was like what

02:43:45 - 02:44:04 | Speaker 5:

you've been phone scammed it's mojo in the morning's world famous phone scams

02:44:07 - 02:44:16 | Speaker 1:

What do the kids do, Shannon, when they have a snow day like today? What are Lucy and Smith going to be up to?

02:44:17 - 02:44:25 | Speaker 3:

So this is Andrew's week to have them. And since he's at work, so Nama, his mom is hanging with them.

02:44:25 - 02:44:35 | Speaker 2:

They are so excited to have a snow day, though. So they'll probably just stay in their pajamas all day. And they're, like, obsessed with Legos. They got so many Legos for Christmas, so they're building, like, Lego cities right now.

02:44:35 - 02:45:13 | Speaker 1:

It's funny because My mom used to love snow days More than we love snow days And I don't know if you feel like this as a mom Or if you feel like you want to just go home And get a nap in or something like that Because it's working But my mom was the person who would put The spoon under her pillow Because she wanted us to be home It's funny how much she would love Snow days And she was the one that would jump in the car and take us to the toboggan, you know, sledding slope at the church by our house. And she'd sit in the car and smoke cigarettes the whole time. I wonder how much that just changed now with everybody working from home.

02:45:13 - 02:45:17 | Speaker 4:

If it's like, oh, no, the kids are going to be here all day. Or if you're excited. I don't know.

02:45:17 - 02:45:58 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's funny. I don't know. Chelsea's like this, too. Chelsea likes, like, this morning we did not want Luke driving to school because he drives, you know, being in high school. And we were both happy that they canceled school. But I want to do a quick let's do a quick check in eight, four, four, mojo live, eight, four, four, six, six, five, six, five, four, eight. Do we have any snow day check ins? Any teachers that are out enjoying their what they normally would not be able to do or maybe, I don't know, having a cocktail. What are you guys doing? Eight, four, four, mojo live. What you definitely don't want to do is you definitely don't want Shannon cooking for her kids today because we do. My God. She was lit herself on fire for goodness sake.

02:45:58 - 02:46:57 | Speaker 3:

I can't I mean you this is no secret I can't cook I I wish I could like there are certain things I can make but for the most part I'm just super clumsy in general and very clumsy in the kitchen and last night I was by myself and so I it got to be like 8 30 and I hadn't eaten dinner yet so I'm like okay I guess I better make something and I'm like looking around for something to make and um so I threw I was boiling a pot of water and put some pasta in it And so I'm standing over my stove, kind of stirring the pasta and admittedly not paying attention because in my other hand, I had my phone and I was scrolling through Instagram and all of a sudden I could smell something funky. I'm like, what the heck is that? I look down and realize that the sleeve of the brand new sweater that I was wearing yesterday had started to singe and catch fire because of how I was holding the spoon. And I'm like, why am I the biggest idiot? I cannot be trusted. I cannot be trusted.

02:46:57 - 02:47:04 | Speaker 1:

Keep you away from that. Especially these, you know, it's like, that's why gas grill or gas stoves need to be banned.

02:47:04 - 02:47:10 | Speaker 3:

Well, I had an electric stove before, you know, now I have a gas stove.

02:47:10 - 02:47:18 | Speaker 4:

I was going to say, how do you light, you can't light yourself on fire with an electric stove. I'm still not used to it. You can melt things. You forget, you put things on it, you forget it's still hot. Yeah.

02:47:18 - 02:47:31 | Speaker 1:

I've done that. Such an idiot. When the kids are home and stuff like that, for snow days, if you have them, would you cook for them? Because me, I always remember my mom also making mac and cheese.

02:47:31 - 02:47:54 | Speaker 3:

Well, my kids are still, like, they eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, but in terms of, like, a quote-unquote main thing, I don't really need to, like, they eat mac and cheese. They think that it is gourmet when it is from the microwave, so it's mac and cheese, or they like pasta or chicken fingers that I heat up in the microwave. or they'll have like a peanut butter Nutella sandwich. Pizza rolls. That's about it.

02:47:55 - 02:48:11 | Speaker 1:

Snow day foods. They do not eat a lot. Snow day foods for me were pizza rolls. If my parents would get, what was the brand of chicken? It was like the frozen chicken, was it started with an H? Why am I brain farting on it?

02:48:11 - 02:48:12 | Speaker 4:

Hanson's?

02:48:12 - 02:48:20 | Speaker 1:

No, it was. Hormel? It's in the, no. But Hormel chili was one of those ones too.

02:48:20 - 02:48:22 | Speaker 3:

Okay, I still maintain that stuff, by the way.

02:48:22 - 02:48:24 | Speaker 1:

Your sodium levels go through right here.

02:48:24 - 02:48:28 | Speaker 3:

I always make chili mac with it. It's so good. In fact, that's probably what I'll have tonight.

02:48:28 - 02:48:44 | Speaker 1:

Man, this is all, by the way, it's funny. This is all foods that bring back memories, and it's all the stuff that we run out to the grocery store to stock up on because we think the world's coming to an end because there's going to be a snowstorm. Angel, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning. Hello, Angel.

02:48:44 - 02:48:44 | Speaker 2:

Good morning.

02:48:44 - 02:48:45 | Speaker 1:

How are you?

02:48:45 - 02:48:48 | Speaker 2:

Hi, I'm here. I'm fine. I'm doing okay.

02:48:48 - 02:48:50 | Speaker 1:

What's going on? It's a snow day. Are you home or are you working?

02:48:51 - 02:49:08 | Speaker 2:

No. You know what? I work from home, and I miss my kids so much when they used to go in person that I decided to let them stay home forever. So they've been online since before COVID. Oh, wow. So for us, every day is a snow day.

02:49:08 - 02:49:12 | Speaker 4:

And you don't regret that now that they're home every single day and you're still working from home?

02:49:12 - 02:49:18 | Speaker 2:

No. I'm so excited. I just woke them up not too long ago, and I was excited.

02:49:18 - 02:49:24 | Speaker 1:

Angel, does the school that you go to, is it a specific school that does online?

02:49:25 - 02:49:29 | Speaker 2:

No, it's not the Zoom setup, no.

02:49:29 - 02:49:37 | Speaker 1:

Okay, because I know that there's a lot of kids that still get a snow day, even if this is the case, because the teachers can't get in to go do the Zoom.

02:49:38 - 02:49:42 | Speaker 2:

No, see, they're online. The whole entire school is online. Everybody.

02:49:42 - 02:49:46 | Speaker 1:

So are they in their own homes doing it, or do they have to drive to a classroom?

02:49:46 - 02:49:49 | Speaker 2:

Yes, and they do it on their own time. they're at home and they do it on their own

02:49:49 - 02:49:52 | Speaker 4:

so you gotta keep up on them too

02:49:52 - 02:49:56 | Speaker 2:

I would lose my

02:49:56 - 02:50:00 | Speaker 1:

I would lose my mind as a as a kid with that

02:50:00 - 02:50:00 | Speaker 2:

And it's four.

02:50:01 - 02:50:01 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

02:50:02 - 02:50:06 | Speaker 2:

It's four of them. So I have four and three are students. One is two years old.

02:50:07 - 02:50:09 | Speaker 4:

Wow, you do love your kids. I don't love my kids that much.

02:50:09 - 02:50:16 | Speaker 5:

I would want to be out of that house so fast. But I will say I give you credit as a mom that you're doing that and you're a working mom, too.

02:50:16 - 02:50:24 | Speaker 2:

I get to monitor their grades. I get to spend time with them. They don't have to face bullies in school. You know, you're not carrying around seven or eight.

02:50:24 - 02:50:26 | Speaker 5:

I wasn't worried about bullies in school. I was worried about my mom.

02:50:26 - 02:50:31 | Speaker 4:

Those kids can't lie about doing their homework She knows if they did their homework

02:50:31 - 02:50:36 | Speaker 5:

What's going on, Jerry? Hey, how are you doing? Good, what was your snow day food?

02:50:38 - 02:50:44 | Speaker 1:

My snow day food was ramen noodles But they had to be beef flavor and hot dogs

02:50:44 - 02:50:45 | Speaker 5:

Yes

02:50:45 - 02:51:26 | Speaker 4:

Those are the best I love ramen noodles In my house, Meg will do the grocery shopping On her way home from picking up her son from school so he always gets to he always sees stuff so he'll pick out oh my gosh i want this i want that so they always come home with cool kids foods and mojo was talking about how amazing my dinner looked last night on instagram because meg's an amazing cook every night it looks yeah but sometimes they'll come home like yesterday he came home with this tv dinner that for kids with the brownie in the middle oh it's the best oh my god and she was making this amazing meal and i was like oh i kind want that tv didn't you know and they're so nostalgic yeah my my other thing to reminisce

02:51:26 - 02:52:02 | Speaker 5:

about with snow days jerry was you always knew where everybody in the neighborhood was because their boots were at the front entrance of the person's house that was the mom the cool mom and the cool mom would always be the mom who would make hot chocolate for the kids oh yeah like if she was willing to put hot chocolate on for you and we used to have a mom down the street from us that Mrs. Krasnowski, who would make hot chocolate not from the packets, like the powdered stuff or anything like that. She would make it fresh with chocolate. And real marshmallows. And milk and everything.

02:52:03 - 02:52:06 | Speaker 4:

Delicious. Mom of the year.

02:52:06 - 02:52:20 | Speaker 5:

I think I'm going to stop on the way home and I'm going to say to my son who's 17 years old and will probably sleep until 5 tonight because that's what they do. I'm going to say, wake up. I'm going to make you fresh hot chocolate. And he'd look at me like, I don't want hot chocolate. I want to go to Starbucks.

02:52:21 - 02:52:27 | Speaker 4:

Wait. You've got to record this for TikTok. I want you to go knock on his door and be like, do you want to build a snowman?

02:52:28 - 02:52:36 | Speaker 5:

I'm going to do it. Oh, my God. And he'll be like, F-bomb this, F-bomb that. Melissa, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning.

02:52:37 - 02:53:36 | Speaker 3:

Hi, Mojo. Hi, you guys. Hi, Shannon. Hi. So, my kids are 10, 8, and 5, and I've been working full-time in an office um along with raising them since my youngest was born so for about six years and i actually get laid off in the winter for once christmas break starts and then through january and then halfway through february so it's literally the worst thing ever when they get a snow day because it's literally the only time that i have throughout the year to get anything done or just do anything that i want when they're at school yeah you know so like it's just it's terrible like they like i literally throughout the whole year i'll plan the things that i want to get done when i'm laid off but when they when when i text in the morning when it starts to snow i'm like okay so we're gonna be here all day we're gonna go sledding or we're gonna do all these things like i said i have three so then i'm like okay i'm counting down the days that i have left until i won't be laid off anymore and i'm like i just lost the day yeah yeah don't by the

02:53:36 - 02:53:45 | Speaker 5:

way there's a lot of parents that are like mojo i hate when my kids are home like there's all these parents that are texting because it causes problems too for working parents it's just the

02:53:45 - 02:53:55 | Speaker 3:

timing you know what i mean like i would love my kids being home like you know what i mean but it's just that i only have like that crunch time right right that's understandable listen i used to hate

02:53:55 - 02:54:07 | Speaker 5:

it when my kids would be home because i'd come home from work exhausted and all i wanted to do is watch law and order svu on usa and i'd be like give me the tv you little bastard what's up nancy

02:54:08 - 02:54:10 | Speaker 2:

Hi, how is everybody? We're good.

02:54:10 - 02:54:10 | Speaker 5:

What's going on?

02:54:11 - 02:54:30 | Speaker 2:

Great. So I texted in that I'm a substitute teacher, and I work every single day. And my daughter's dance team is going to the high school dance nationals in Florida. She's a senior. So a lot of the responsibility falls on us, and I'm so happy to be able to take some time to be able to prepare.

02:54:31 - 02:54:31 | Speaker 5:

You got a day off.

02:54:32 - 02:54:32 | Speaker 2:

Very good.

02:54:32 - 02:54:35 | Speaker 5:

Did you find out right away that your district was off?

02:54:36 - 02:54:36 | Speaker 2:

Last night.

02:54:37 - 02:54:45 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, it's the best when they do that a day ahead of time. That's that Ken Gutman guy over in Walled Lake. That guy's canceled school four days before storms.

02:54:46 - 02:54:59 | Speaker 4:

No, he used to get roasted. He's not the superintendent anymore, but he used to get roasted by the kids because they would go after him on Twitter because he wouldn't. And they'd be like, he'd do the whole drive around at 5 in the morning thing to see conditions, and he'd be like, what are you driving around?

02:55:00 - 02:55:01 | Speaker 1:

It's four inches of snow

02:55:01 - 02:55:06 | Speaker 4:

It's funny he does have a new job Doesn't he like wish for Oakland County or the county Or something like that

02:55:06 - 02:55:14 | Speaker 1:

Because they went to that school district And they'd be like Kenny G Dad don't you know him can't you call him And tell him to just cancel

02:55:14 - 02:55:20 | Speaker 4:

I used to give him crap because the Catholic schools Don't close as soon or as fast As the public schools do

02:55:20 - 02:55:24 | Speaker 1:

You get to school and pray that you're not going to fall off the road Getting there

02:55:24 - 02:55:39 | Speaker 4:

And I think it's because the priests live close to the school Or something you know They're not aware of how bad it is. They're in the rectory or something, yeah. All right, well, it's a snow day today. Megan, what are we at level at in Toledo? By the way, because it looks like the snow's not coming. It started up again. Oh, it is again?

02:55:39 - 02:55:42 | Speaker 1:

It's heavy again. The heavy stuff's going to be this afternoon. Yes.

02:55:42 - 02:55:46 | Speaker 4:

The heavy stuff's not coming down for quite a while. Do you remember the movie? Name it.

02:55:46 - 02:55:49 | Speaker 1:

Oh, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles? No, no.

02:55:52 - 02:55:52 | Speaker 4:

Caddyshack.

02:55:52 - 02:55:53 | Speaker 1:

Ah, okay.

02:55:53 - 02:55:55 | Speaker 4:

What's going on, Megan? What level are we at?

02:55:55 - 02:56:17 | Speaker 3:

So Erie, Huron, Putnam, Seneca, Wood, and Wyandotte are all on a level one. And the rest of northwest Ohio still isn't under anything. I think the snow is coming a lot later than any of us anticipated. It just started falling pretty heavy right now. And I thought it was supposed to start at like 6 a.m. this morning. So I think we're a little bit later than we expected.

02:56:17 - 02:56:34 | Speaker 4:

My app got changed. I used to use Dark Sky all the time. And Dark Sky got bought out by Apple. So it's now the Apple app. And I swear to you, I look at these. I got rid of it, too. Well, yeah, at the first of the year now, they changed it basically over. I don't think these apps are as good as they used to be.

02:56:34 - 02:56:44 | Speaker 1:

Well, the app's using all the same models and information that the TV stations have. But you can't predict this stuff more than a few hours in advance. They could pretend they know two days out, but they're lying.

02:56:45 - 02:56:49 | Speaker 4:

Looking at, let's see here. When is the heavy stuff in Toledo?

02:56:50 - 02:56:52 | Speaker 3:

Do you want me to explain the levels again?

02:56:53 - 02:57:01 | Speaker 4:

To the Michigan people? Yeah, do that because Michigan people are fascinated by the fact that you guys rate your snowfall like hurricanes in the Florida.

02:57:01 - 02:57:55 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, and it kind of shocks me that you guys don't do this because to me, I mean, I was raised this way, but it totally makes sense. So level one is like the lowest level. It's issued when the roads are hazardous. Maybe the snow is blowing or drifting. But under a level one, it really just means roads are icy. Use caution, right? Level two is a little bit more severe. It's issued when the roads become hazardous enough that you should only drive if necessary. I also believe if it's a level two and you get in an accident, you don't call for police unless there's injuries. Just exchange information. When a level two is issued, reach out to your employer. See if you should report to work. Otherwise, stay home. Level three is what's very serious around here. And you can actually get pulled over, get a ticket or even get arrested. So you don't go out on the roads unless there's an emergency or it's necessary. Yeah, so you will get pulled over.

02:57:55 - 02:58:17 | Speaker 4:

Here's what it says. It says the weather app says that in 40 minutes from now, which we got to get off the air fast then and get out of here. We're going to all use that as our excuse. From 40 minutes until about 3.30 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon, it's going to get really bad in both of our cities here. And Mike's still, by the way, looking at you.

02:58:17 - 02:58:18 | Speaker 2:

It's Wednesday.

02:58:18 - 02:58:20 | Speaker 4:

This is nothing. You guys get this all the time.

02:58:21 - 02:58:22 | Speaker 2:

I'm going to be here all day today.

02:58:22 - 02:58:23 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to get stuck.

02:58:24 - 02:58:35 | Speaker 4:

You're like the people that live, Mike, Grand Rapids. I never would have thought this, but Grand Rapids is like Vail, Colorado. You guys look at this as, you know, this ain't nothing. I got chains on my tires in July.

02:58:36 - 02:58:42 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, but that's why you guys are like, oh, you hate snow? You live there all the time. No, it's because we deal with this, and it's bad all the time, or it just doesn't happen.

02:58:42 - 02:58:51 | Speaker 1:

I still don't get why Michigan runs out and clears the shelves at Meijer when they know in six hours the roads are going to be clear. We're not going to be snowed in for a week.

02:58:52 - 02:58:55 | Speaker 3:

We haven't even had snow this year except for once.

02:58:55 - 02:59:18 | Speaker 1:

But we're excited about it, aren't we? Yeah. No. Remember, Megan's, the Toledo alert system and the numbers remind me of, remember when Homeland Security, after September 11th, they did the terrorist alert? The colors. The color system is like red is severe, orange is high and elevated. And you're like, what am I supposed to do with that information? Like, as a citizen, why are you alerting me?

02:59:19 - 02:59:26 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, they should do the alerts. Just give me details on the sledding hills and how busy they're going to be.

02:59:26 - 02:59:30 | Speaker 1:

Are Pop-Tarts almost cleared out on the shelves, or do I have another day to go get them?

02:59:30 - 02:59:37 | Speaker 4:

Right. It's funny when you see people, like, going, why are these people shopping like this, and they have no idea that the weather's going to get bad or something's happening.

02:59:38 - 02:59:40 | Speaker 2:

Those are one of the mornings' top trending stories.

02:59:40 - 02:59:59 | Speaker 4:

All right, top trending stories of the day. I've got a couple of stories that are kind of interesting. First off, I'm going to start with this one. iPhone and Android users reveal how long they can go without their phones. So adults predicted how long that they can go without their phone.

03:00:00 - 03:00:09 | Speaker 1:

or without TV, without, like, losing their mind? And can you guess how long they can go? What do you think?

03:00:09 - 03:00:17 | Speaker 4:

I would say one hour. One hour? Without the phone. TV, by the way, I could do for a long time.

03:00:18 - 03:00:19 | Speaker 1:

That's because you got it on your phone.

03:00:19 - 03:00:24 | Speaker 4:

Well, yeah. I mean, yeah. I don't know. I could find a million other things to do, but my phone, I'd say an hour.

03:00:25 - 03:02:01 | Speaker 1:

Five hours is what they said. Oh, okay. All right. Yeah. So people can go for five hours, and then at that point, they lose their minds. I found that to be interesting, that people can go that long, because I honestly don't think that that's true. I think they're lying about that. Without a phone, more than half of people, which, by the way, say that they actually watch television from their phone, more than 50% of people watch television from their phone, listen to music from their phone, podcasts, all the rest. They say that their phone also is the way that they tell time, know what the weather is going to be, or even know what's happening in their day. Their phones are that much a part of them that they can't be without them. A poll shows what Americans would do if they had more free time. A typical American says that they could have just like an extra four hours in their day. They would finish all the stuff that's on their to-do list. so they say that they would love to have more time to be able to kind of get some stuff done the average person has about five things on their to-do list that they just can't get to we just talked to the school teacher the substitute just a second ago she got a lot of stuff on her to-do list what drains you of the most time housework chores daily activities preparing for events like holidays and family visits financial responsibilities they're taking your time and then driving commuting a lot of times people say that just getting in the car and driving around i use that as my time to return phone calls yeah like i like my commute's gonna go from 12 minutes

03:02:01 - 03:02:07 | Speaker 4:

till to 50 minutes and i will probably move downtown when i move downtown yeah and i will

03:02:07 - 03:02:32 | Speaker 1:

and i'm gonna have to leave my house like an extra like 45 50 minutes earlier to get to work early. So I'm going to start returning all my phone calls at 4 a.m. So get ready for that. I'm going to start calling you guys. Four o'clock in the morning, if you're actually a salesperson here at the station. Janelle calls me yesterday. Can I tell this story? Can I vent a little bit? I don't know. Can you? Janelle, the sales rep, calls me yesterday. He goes, hey, you sound tired.

03:02:33 - 03:02:51 | Speaker 2:

It's 3.30 in the afternoon. Yeah. Somebody said, you look tired yesterday. I was leaving work. It was almost 4 p.m. so i've been here 11 hours without a lunch break and they're like you look tired i'm like you look like someone's gonna get murdered in the parking lot a survey of american

03:02:51 - 03:03:32 | Speaker 1:

parents rank youth's mental health as the top concern that parents have nowadays it used to be that parents would always worry about whether or not their kids were doing you know good in school their kids were eating the right amount of foods mental health has topped the list i would agree With a majority of the parents saying that they believe that COVID has completely changed their mental health and kids having issues over the last couple of years. That's the biggest concern that you have for your children. Did you guys know that the doom, this is now here we are talking about all the stress levels. Did you hear that the doomsday clock has just gotten closer to a catastrophic event? Sleep tight all.

03:03:33 - 03:03:38 | Speaker 3:

Is this even real? Haven't they already predicted? Huh? I thought we were down to seconds.

03:03:39 - 03:03:47 | Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, they're now saying the doomsday clock has moved forward from 100 seconds to midnight to 90 seconds to midnight.

03:03:47 - 03:03:50 | Speaker 2:

How can that be? I started using paper straws. The earth should be saved.

03:03:50 - 03:04:07 | Speaker 1:

The clock facing Armageddon is because of Russia's aggression and them having nuclear bombs. I don't understand what that means, though. I don't either. Does that mean that if Russia shoots off a nuclear bomb, we only got 90 seconds to get our act together? Or what's the story?

03:04:07 - 03:04:24 | Speaker 5:

Isn't it too late to turn back the clock? I thought that was, like, the big thing. Is that what it is? Everybody was worried that we got too close to doomsday, but we passed a certain point, and now we can't go back. I don't know. It's just to give you a reminder of, like, how terrible it is here.

03:04:25 - 03:04:29 | Speaker 2:

Let me know so I stop paying my bills if I'm all going to get blasted off the earth.

03:04:29 - 03:05:00 | Speaker 1:

So are you ready for this one? Yesterday it was broken that there was another person that has the documents that they shouldn't have You know how this story has become really big when Trump had documents at Mar-a-Lago And now Biden's got documents at numerous locations Well, now they're saying the secret documents are also with two other presidents Because one just got released just a couple of minutes ago Mike Pence, the vice president for President Trump He has died.

03:05:00 - 03:05:04 | Speaker 5:

Documents at his home in Indiana, so in his residence in Indiana.

03:05:04 - 03:05:20 | Speaker 2:

Did you take any classified documents with you from the White House? I did not. This was him being interviewed like a month ago or so by David Muir. Do you see any reason to take classified documents with them leaving the White House? Well, there'd be no reason to have classified documents.

03:05:20 - 03:05:37 | Speaker 5:

So the other one now is former President Carter. There's reports that some believe that he has documents at home And that he's come forward with documents So here's my thing I'm convinced now that these guys all leave with their own stuff

03:05:37 - 03:05:43 | Speaker 1:

But are they even aware of what's in all these boxes that are coming out of the White House? To be fair, for everybody

03:05:43 - 03:06:25 | Speaker 3:

America's system for handling these classified documents is obviously broken Because they're in such a hurry to move from place to place They just pack up boxes, they leave So, like, you know, Biden and Pence didn't even know supposedly it was in their office, but it was quickly packed and moved. But both of their staffs found the documents, contacted the Department of Justice quickly and the FBI to return them. Right. The situation's different with President Trump. You love to say that. I'll be honest. They all knew that they had those documents. No, no, no. But they shouldn't guarantee you. It's apples and oranges because his own staff was reporting to the FBI he has more. Like, there was somebody in his staff saying he hasn't turned them all over. They went down there to Mar-a-Lago three times and asked him to remove everything.

03:06:25 - 03:06:32 | Speaker 5:

But I love how they say in the press conferences, we got rid of all the documents, we're done. And then all of a sudden, three days later, they find out that there's more documents.

03:06:32 - 03:06:45 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, but there's a big difference is what I'm saying, because they knew he had them and he wasn't returning them. And even today, he's saying they belong to me, return them. He's obstructing justice. The other two handed them over the minute they found them.

03:06:45 - 03:06:54 | Speaker 5:

We're going to go to all of our homes, and we're going to find out which one of you guys has stolen property that belongs to the radio station. We're going to go in there and find out who's taking stuff out of the prize closet.

03:06:54 - 03:06:55 | Speaker 7:

I wish I did.

03:06:55 - 03:06:55 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

03:06:56 - 03:07:00 | Speaker 6:

This is why you guys are not allowed at my house. They stole the Cheez-Its from the break room.

03:07:00 - 03:07:03 | Speaker 5:

I'm so mad! I'm telling you. Wait a second.

03:07:03 - 03:07:13 | Speaker 1:

Can KP and I make this PSA for everybody in the building right now? If you have the box of extra toasty Cheez-Its that was in the conference room, the upstairs conference room, please return it to us.

03:07:14 - 03:07:18 | Speaker 5:

You stole our illegal... They were not ours. I was going to say, why did you leave them there?

03:07:18 - 03:07:19 | Speaker 1:

We had our hand in them.

03:07:19 - 03:07:51 | Speaker 5:

We had our hand in them. The last story that I have for you is a story that aired yesterday on a local TV station in Detroit, Channel 4, Local 4. They aired this story, and this is a big one. If you have a home right now that you're trying to Airbnb, beware. You could actually be criminally responsible for underage drinking going on after they busted a home in Macomb County where a bunch of 19, 17, and 18-year-olds were throwing a huge party.

03:07:51 - 03:08:08 | Speaker 4:

Parents and property owners, you really need to see this. Especially those operating an Airbnb or other rentals because there was a house party recently that was advertised on social media. And as our Nick Monticelli shows us, the turnout was massive. Come here. How old are you?

03:08:08 - 03:08:09 | Speaker 2:

I'm 15.

03:08:09 - 03:08:29 | Speaker 7:

It was a cold, rainy night earlier this month when Utica police got a call about what seemed to be a house party getting out of control. I'll start seeing some IDs. The caller was right. Outside this home were a few minors drinking and smoking marijuana, and inside Utica officers knew there were more, but legally could not go in.

03:08:30 - 03:08:41 | Speaker 6:

I'm going to start to own every car down this street that doesn't belong to one of our residents unless the owner or the person who rented this B&B comes outside right now.

03:08:41 - 03:08:57 | Speaker 7:

Hey, we have the property owner coming. Once the homeowner arrives, they discuss what's happening and how the 19-year-old who rented this Airbnb has broken the contract. Knockity knock. With that contract broken, the owner can't allow police to enter.

03:08:57 - 03:08:59 | Speaker 6:

What's up? No, no, no, no, no, no.

03:08:59 - 03:09:04 | Speaker 7:

I got one up. Okay, IDs, people. Let's go. Everyone, holy s***.

03:09:04 - 03:09:06 | Speaker 6:

Okay, I need everybody's IDs.

03:09:06 - 03:09:12 | Speaker 7:

And as you can see, they find the house filled shoulder to shoulder with teenagers.

03:09:12 - 03:09:16 | Speaker 5:

I was just dumbfounded. I couldn't believe this is the Airbnb homeowner.

03:09:17 - 03:09:32 | Speaker 7:

Andy Jerez bought this home in October and turned it into an Airbnb shortly afterwards. He never dreamed teenagers would turn it into this. We need to figure out who's a minor. When I rent it out, these people are liars and cheats.

03:09:32 - 03:09:37 | Speaker 6:

Don't play with me. I'm a grown ass man. I have a full blonde beard. That's great. Let me go, let me go, let me go.

03:09:37 - 03:09:44 | Speaker 7:

That became a distraction for officers, allowing many of the teams to run off, literally, through strangers' backyards.

03:09:45 - 03:09:48 | Speaker 5:

By the way, I love that. I'm a grown-ass man. I have a full-grown beard.

03:09:48 - 03:09:58 | Speaker 3:

So are they saying that the police could not check IDs or ask them to come out, even if there's suspicion of drinking and all these extra cars?

03:09:58 - 03:10:00 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, you can't enter the home unless you're in.

03:10:00 - 03:10:04 | Speaker 6:

you have probable cause knowing that they have to

03:10:04 - 03:10:12 | Speaker 7:

So how does that differ from when my parents go to Europe for the week and I throw a big senior party in high school and the cops help us?

03:10:12 - 03:10:24 | Speaker 6:

Things are different nowadays. They go in there, they get sued they don't want to have that happen but as soon as they got the Airbnb person to say, wait a second, that's my house and I believe there's illegal stuff going on in there, I need you to go in there then they can do it.

03:10:24 - 03:10:28 | Speaker 9:

They're a dispatch with residents advising there's juveniles running through their yard

03:10:28 - 03:10:47 | Speaker 4:

Nope, I'm letting them all go It's getting out of control. The only person Utica PD made sure to hold on to was the 19-year-old who not only rented this, but planned the party. Even posting an open house party flyer on Instagram. The Utica officer reminding him how serious this is.

03:10:47 - 03:10:49 | Speaker 6:

Everything going on is contributing delinquency to a minor.

03:10:50 - 03:10:55 | Speaker 4:

And it turns out this was the second time this has happened in Utica. The first time.

03:10:55 - 03:10:58 | Speaker 3:

We discovered that there's a loaded firearm with drugs and a backpack.

03:10:58 - 03:11:03 | Speaker 4:

So the Utica Police Chief has two messages. The first, to parents of teenagers.

03:11:03 - 03:11:11 | Speaker 3:

That if they're responding to some type of party or Instagram notification, be very careful. Obviously, there's a good chance there's going to be some type of police involvement.

03:11:12 - 03:11:16 | Speaker 4:

And second, to Airbnb owners, be very careful of who you're renting to.

03:11:16 - 03:11:29 | Speaker 3:

Make sure that you understand that when you rent these properties out, that you follow up with these people, you have some type of management system, whether it's camera systems, whatnot, to know that it's not turning into a party house or a place where you're going to have illicit activities.

03:11:29 - 03:11:34 | Speaker 6:

You know what's amazing is that you as the homeowner, the person that Airbnb'd it, are responsible for the underage drinking.

03:11:35 - 03:11:36 | Speaker 10:

Is that true?

03:11:36 - 03:11:38 | Speaker 6:

Yes, because it's your home.

03:11:38 - 03:12:01 | Speaker 7:

Airbnb's been really fighting this for the last year and a half because so many kids are going to spring break type places in Florida and throwing big underage parties. But I don't know how you combat that other than they have to have the owner or somebody meet the renter on their way in, which is one of the features you like about Airbnb that you can just go get the keys or a combination. You don't have to meet people.

03:12:02 - 03:12:07 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, or maybe make your rental. You have to be over the age of 25 or something like that. I mean, you know.

03:12:07 - 03:12:14 | Speaker 7:

Well, they have that on there. You do have to put show proof, but all it is is clicking. Like that 19-year-old probably just clicked, yes.

03:12:14 - 03:12:31 | Speaker 6:

Maybe show ID or something. I don't know, but it's crazy. All right, have a great day. uh be careful in the snow and be with us tomorrow morning we'll see ya bye 20 plus years of idiocy and still going in detroit toledo and west michigan it's mojo in the morning
