The morning show is not just the role that you have, but I think some people might be confused by what they're saying here.

I like to refer to myself as Tony's assistant. Assistant to the program director? I'm not assistant program director. I'm assistant to the program director. I've quickly learned that's the role. But I run a lot of things behind the scenes around here. I do like a lot of management on the station itself outside of this show. And I didn't realize every single person who has had the job before me had an office. That's rude. Had an office with a couch. That's rude. It has a couch. I didn't know.

I'm so incredibly, first of all, I would love to be able to hide snacks from you a-holes. That would be amazing. And quite frankly, I think there's cute design sections in Target for offices. I want to buy the cute office stuff. Like, that is something I never thought I would have the opportunity to do in my life. And I want a place to hide clothes to change into to go to the gym when I'm done here. It would be really nice. But the fact that it wasn't even offered is kind of wild. Why, though?

Because it's always been. The other station took that office, like, before Sean even left. But there are a plethora of empty offices in this building.

Just a crazy statistic that just came out there. And I'm just hoping that it's just, you know, buildings that fell down and problems with flooding and it's not lives that were lost.

Well, let me give you a little bit of an update here. Hurricane Milton made landfall yesterday along Florida's Gulf Coast as a Category 3 storm with maximum sustained winds of 120 miles per hour when it came ashore in Siesta Key. That was around 8 o'clock last night. More than 3.4 million people in Florida waking up this morning without power. This is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

There's already been 116 tornado warnings with 19 confirmed touchdowns throughout the state, nine flash flood warnings, and four additional flood watches with many, many more to come.

The dome, the roof of the Tampa Bay Rays baseball stadium where first responders are sheltering was totally torn off, which I was just watching some videos of that. Crazy to see. Authorities confirmed multiple tornadoes hit St. Lucie County, Florida with multiple fatalities. Milton has since been downgraded to a Category 1 hurricane, which is still very, very, very dangerous as it travels up the coast.

I text him with my son, Joe. They are safe. We're trying to figure out how everything is for his producer terry who he talked about how her family or parents are not well and they tried to bunker down at home their area where they live got hit hard by a lot of that surge so we're going to keep you updated on that we'll keep you updated on some efforts that we're going to do to try to help out uh the hurricane helene and hurricane milton uh families that were were victim to the

horrible devastation of these hurricanes jennifer lopez breaking her silence about her divorce to Ben Affleck, comedian Nikki Glaser, chats with J-Lo for an interview with Interview Magazine. She looks great on the cover, by the way, but they touched on her new film, Unstoppable, her quest to prove her quote-unquote enoughness, and being good all by herself. And she said in the interview, my whole life has been proving my enoughness. She thought she was complete at this point in her life. But over the summer, she realized post-divorce, she needed to go off and be on her own. She needed to prove to herself that

could do it and she said in the magazine being alone feels lonely unfamiliar scary it feels sad desperate but when you sit in those feelings and go these things aren't going to kill me it's actually like i am capable of joy and happiness all by myself she said being in a relationship does not define her and she said she does not regret all of the pain that she went through not for one second she said actually she thinks she needed it at this point in her life I love her.

And the business of football can be hard, not just on those of us who are playing and coaching and doing personnel things. and ownership, obviously, but it's tough on the families. And I've got to know Robert's family over the last couple of years, and especially one of his kids, Adam. Adam's my little throwing buddy from training camp. Love Adam. He's an incredible, incredible kid. And, you know, so I'm thinking there's obviously a lot of emotions, but you think about the family and the kids as much as, you know, the people you love, your own family, who's the coaching staff players and what uh what they're all going through so you know anybody who's kind of championing this decision i would just appeal to the humanity of the situation and and and remind you there's other people involved and adam has to go to school today you know possibly or this week and uh hopefully there's no you know uh kids with poor parents who are making snide side comments

it ended up leading to their divorce. Wow what did your dad do when he found out that you

saw that text message and knew that he was a cheater? He definitely was not happy we had a very rocky relationship for quite a few years um throughout college is when we i finally you know we grew back together we're pretty close now but he is still dating the same girl wow it's

interesting you know you talk about how you had a rocky relationship you would think that he'd be doing everything he can to kiss your ass to make sure that he didn't lose you as a daughter or did

he blame you uh i don't think he necessarily blamed me but he also left me to watch my younger brother so he can go out with her all the time after the divorce oh wow how about there was a lot of times like he wouldn't come home i have um a younger brother from his other previous affair that my mom stayed with him and he would be out partying and stuff like that with the new girlfriend so it was very rocky until I moved out at 19. Melinda's mom said I want better for you as a daughter does this make you look at guys a little differently knowing that what your dad did or does it make you look for guys differently when you're

looking for a guy that you want to be with? So if you saw the video or photos of the dog chained to a fence in rising flood water off of a highway in Tampa yesterday as Hurricane Milton approached, he is safe. He is okay. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol rescued the abandoned bull terrier dog. And Florida Governor Ron DeSantis promised to hold any pet abusers in the wake of

this hurricane accountable. I mean, first of all, what kind of an animal would just leave a dog chained to a pole in the middle of a hurricane? I mean, it's just unbelievable that somebody would do that. And so I'm thankful for the FHP folks out of Tampa for rescuing the dog. They did bring it to the vet the dog has a clean bill of health um and who knows maybe we'll do some adoption put the dog up for adoption and we can have some people in florida come and and compete for it

and take it that's that's actually going to be interesting to see where such a horrible story like that turns into maybe a positive to help especially there are a lot of animals that need

rescuing i i'm trying to get my dad to adopt an english bulldog that a family is trying to find a new home for and they said they'll drive it all the way up to michigan i'm like cat please yeah these just oh okay um taylor swift and travis kelsey are not engaged despite all of the rumors going around i keep hearing this from everybody the rumor started that the chief star had popped the question after former dallas cowboys quarterback troy aikman said he had been told that they might be heading down the aisle on an episode of the pardon my take podcast and after he referred to Taylor as the missus during Monday Night Football this week.

So for some reason, I decided to stand up and face that. I don't know what I was thinking. I stood up. I faced the toilet. I had my Cottonelle wipes and my brain must have went somewhere. But I dropped the whole package in the toilet and immediately I'm like, oh, no. And then I reached down. Right. Because it didn't sink. Right. It's kind of like the Titanic. Like it like stood up straight. So I had an opportunity to grab it. so i grabbed it and now i'm like oh no i have to wipe the wipes oh boy so i gotta clean up the wipes and then clean up myself but i couldn't because you can't even flush it it's the package

right you know what i mean so you gotta get it out it has to come out it has to come out

But for the most part like I have I just never like my mom wasn't really a big cook so I didn't like learn from her or any like it wasn't anything like that um and this has never been as big of an issue and I've never felt it as much as I feel now and this might sound stupid but it's truly making me feel like I'm falling short as a wife and a mom and a stepmom because this actually wasn't last night It was the night before last. Everybody's schedule is very different, which doesn't help this. So my kids, Wes, all four kids had sports until about 730. And by the time I got home, the older kids were home and Wes had told them to just fend for themselves in terms of dinner. Now, mind you, we have a ton of options. We have Costco stuff. We have fresh stuff from the grocery store in the fridge to make whatever. But it's not like I had prepared a dinner for them or anybody that was waiting for them on the stove when they got home, right? Lucy and Smith, I made them hot dogs and cut up some like fruit and veggies and called it a dinner. I had half of a leftover burger. I don't even know what Wes ended up eating when he got home from doing all of his stuff. And so it's just like very disjointed and discombobulated. And I just feel like I get like yesterday I had anxiety as dinnertime was approaching. Like, what am I going to feed everybody? And everybody likes something different. And I don't know. I just feel like I fail in that area. I feel like I'm a good mom and stepmom when it comes to and wife when it comes to everything else. But that's the one area where I'm like, did you feel the same way when it was just you

and the kids before you started dating Wes and then?

Honestly, no, because the kids are happy with like chicken nuggets in the air fryer. I mean, who isn't? And I'm happy with girl dinner, a bowl of cereal, like olives, like whatever I have, I can make it into something and nobody else is judging me. Right. And now the best. And now it's like I have Wes and Sam and Kieran who I want to be better for. It's interesting. And they're intentional about their food choices. They are very healthy. They're athletes. They're hungry, yeah.

Plus their teenagers are different also even if they're not intentional about the healthy hands. They eat more. They need more. They need more nourishment. And a bowl of cereal doesn't always cut it for them. And Pinterest is like real overwhelming to me with recipe.

like I just I don't know. Do you guys ever sit down as a as a family now of six of you guys?

So, no. And that's what else like is kind of weighing on me. And I know that it's 2024 and we're a modern blended family and whatever. Everybody's busy. If we did that, we wouldn't be eating until probably like eight o'clock.

Because everybody's.

And my kids start. My kids. That time is 830.

I got to tell you this. I don't know. It's really wild. we have a friends of ours that, uh, that they intentionally tell their family, like everybody has to be home on one or two days a week where they at least have to be able to, it's like usually like Sunday dinner or whatever and try to do it together just so that everybody can get together. Because it's funny, it became one of those things where on Thanksgiving you do it and you go, this is really kind of cool to get everybody here together. And then you go, well, why can't we try to do it at least a couple of times a week or month you know but i i don't i'm always amazed by the people who i'm amazed by two things number one why is it always the the woman's you know job to figure out what dinner is going to be about

well i i have to say wes is very helpful here i'm putting this on myself i am putting this i'm about to say when the last night you could i get it wes meal prep's like a champ usually on sundays but he like he's been crazy busy too so we didn't do it this week so i feel like that's why

i'm really really feeling it but i'm also amazed at the there are a lot of people who can literally with nothing in their house whip up a full meal that just looks amazing that's my neighbor she gotta come over my grandma she'll get you together i would love for somebody to come over

and be like okay i'm gonna teach you some basics and that way you can do this in you know under half an hour and everybody will be happy i need that person hey meredith reach out to me good

there's okay my kids are are seven or i'm sorry eight years old and up so they all know how to either put something in the microwave put something on the stove your eight year old does their own meal huh oh absolutely like what kind of meals are we talking oh like ramen or Or, you know, like a little, there's these like yakisoba, like teriyaki meals that you can just put water in a sauce pack in and put that in the microwave.

Do you guys ever sit down and do family dinner?

Oh, yeah. It's just, it's not, you know, it's not all that often. I mean, we have a small house. So, yeah, so we will have dinner where we make it. But generally, us two adults have to sit elsewhere and then all the kids sit at the table because we just can't accommodate everybody at one big table. which sucks. But yeah, every Monday, every Monday is spend for yourself. And that's just I know that I have that day that I don't have to cook. The kids are going to take care of themselves. There's always enough food in the house. If they don't like something, oh, well, find something. If you're hungry enough, you'll eat it. And just try to, and honestly, Chelsea, so Chelsea, I like eating at the, you know, the kitchen or not the kitchen, the couch and whatever, what the hell am I brain farting on? And she requires that we, even if it's just two of us, we have to sit at the kitchen table.

It's extremely sweet how many people over the course of the last few days have been asking me through text message or through DMs and, you know, people have even honestly been emailing me through our station's email address, asking me how my son's doing, how Joe's doing because of Hurricane Milton. Yesterday, I felt like I was answering every five seconds a couple of text messages of people just asking how things are going. I do want to let you know that Joe texted me late, late, late last night. It was in the middle of the night as the hurricane was hitting where he was. He evacuated to Orlando, which Orlando is about an hour and 15 or 20 away from Tampa. And he, along with his girlfriend, Alyssa, evacuated there. Jed and Ashley from the Joe show, they evacuated to families' homes in other parts of Florida. And then they combined did their shows in different locations, which you can obviously check out if you go to The Joe Show on Instagram and Facebook or if you go listen to them on 93.3 FLZ. He said he was scared. He said he was worried, but he was more so worried about what was going on back in Tampa and not so much what was happening to him when he was in Orlando. And it's not good. And for anybody that has any family in Florida, check on.

your family members that are towards the sarasota area too because they got really really pummeled by this thing um hurricane milton was tough uh it turns out right now they're saying that this could be the second largest hurricane causing the most damage to katrina that was obviously the one of the most devastating of all hurricanes ever i was watching a lot of the news and then it got to a point yesterday that i had to like turn it off because it just became uh a point where i was getting more and more anxiety i mean i was watching at points i i was flipping between uh cnn the weather channel and then uh fox news and uh some of the other uh different news people that were out there i saw anderson cooper did you see this at all my god yes he got pummeled uh and the water

now is really starting to pour over if you look at the ground whoa he's got hit by a projectile that wasn't good um we'll probably go inside shortly but you can see the amount of water here on the ground this is this is water from the manatee river i do want to know for everyone

watching who is very concerned obviously about all of our correspondents and anchors on the ground anderson is okay just obviously understandably difficult to establish a

connection when you're seeing what's happening yeah so it it got to be crazy i these guys obviously want to give us the visuals of what's going on i think they're crazy you know what i mean like i i think standing out there like i saw some of the guys from the weather channel where they were being just destroyed um by the amount of wind and water that was coming in surge and then i wanted to know how does iheart not have equipment that can work in a drizzle outside when the Weather Channel has equipment that works during massive hurricanes that happen. And I'm thinking to myself, are we not buying the equipment from the same place or what? So I want to get into a topic here that I think that could be interesting to hear what your thoughts are. So I asked Joe as he was leaving and he left a day and a half ago to go up to Orlando because they had to. They were told it's a mandatory evacuation. You have to leave. Yeah. So he luckily was able to get a hotel room just outside of the Orlando area. And I said, so what did you do? And he was telling me all the things that he was doing to prepare for this. Like, for instance, he packed a few days of clothes because they were told you may not come back until Monday. Like there's a possibility that if the storm hits on Wednesday that you guys still may not even be allowed to come back because the bridges might be close, just like there was for Halim. He also said that he grabbed some things that were of value to him, like some pictures and stuff of our family and some of the things that he's done over the years. He grabbed some of his Nikes that he didn't want to lose. he grabbed his Star Wars memorabilia that he had and then he grabbed some bank records and things like that because I think his mom said to him hey you probably should forget about the Star Wars stuff and grab like things that you're going to need to know you know just in case you get locked out of any apps or any kind of stuff online but I wanted to ask you guys this question not the necessities that you need like a clothing like underwear and things like that not pets and well definitely you got to grab pets right right that's what i'm saying like aside from those things um what would be the oddest thing that you would grab if you had to evacuate in the form of a hurricane we are so lucky that we don't have to do this i know like i get tornadoes to me are scary but if we can go in our basement and stay safe yes that's way better than in these these things that were tornadoes upon hurricanes you can't go into a basement and stay safe with these things right what would you guys grab

i sound like a terrible human being saying this but i would grab some of my purses

Were people already there? Yeah, they hit all the line people at Tropicana Field, and then kaboom, the top just ripped right off. I couldn't believe it when I saw the video.

I thought they moved them before the storm hit.

Jed, was it pretty emotional for you to see this and to see the town that you live in get hit as hard as it did?

Well, just more so. It's almost unbelievable because you just see Clearwater Beach. It's just like almost, it's like I'm living in, what's the one movie? Twister? Groundhog Day. Groundhog Day. It's like, yeah, it's like a week later, the same exact thing happens to Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach, and it's just hard to wrap your head around. I live in Pinellas County in Florida. I can't even get back in until Pinellas County says I can get back in. They're asking everybody to either remain in place or people not to return because the damage to the roads and the down power lines and people trying to get in the down power lines and standing water, they're asking people to stay in their home so i'm trying to get text my neighbors to see if i can get a hold of them and see what it looks like but it's not looking too good well you know what

things can be replaced i'm just praying that there are people you know like we talked to joe yesterday he told us about terry and her parents i'm just hoping that nobody got hurt there and we that's

that was a huge concern as well and then i saw that it hits yes to key dead on and and i was It's just like I'm just all over the place right now, man.

I don't know if I could, you know, do the energy that I see you guys do on the ice and still have energy in the middle of the night to wake up for a feeding or for, you know, making Eggos for your kids, you know?

Yeah, I mean, honestly, my wife does a lot of that. So she's the real all-star in this family, and she's taking care of most of that. So she lets me do my stuff on game days, and I'll pitch in when I can. But she's really the ruler of the family.

Where did you meet Tracy? Where did you guys meet?

I'm at Lindsey at – Where are Lindsey? Just in high school. Yeah, Tracy's my mom.

Yeah, it's awesome. I think just having everything, having my parents here, having Lindsey's parents here, just with the kids and everything, obviously a lot of help but obviously um just a lot more family time and stuff they get to see their their grandkids more than um you know just twice a year or something like that so it's uh it's a perfect spot i love the love the guys on the team love love the area um you know it's fun coming to the rink every every day and um just grinding with these guys all right alex you can't

see us right now but in the studio we are all decked out in our red wings gear we are so excited for the season it kicks off tonight against the penguins how excited are you to get this thing

ready to go yeah super excited i feel like we've been we've been working hard for the past couple weeks getting training camp um you know over with and now the real thing starts so um we're definitely excited and uh there's a lot of energy in this locker room and i know in the city too i think we we feel that and um you know we're definitely excited to get that home crowd tonight

when you see what's going on with you know obviously you saw the lions last year and and this year but we see what the tigers are doing and it's a very very young team the tigers with a couple really good veterans on their team do you guys see that as a catalyst to get you guys going because you guys came this close to making the playoffs last year yeah 100 i think

we we kind of feed off that energy i know the city's fired up for them we're all fired up we're we're watching every game and um really dialed into that right now so um you know i think the extra energy is awesome it's it's so good to see them doing good and obviously the lions too and um you know you you kind of feed off that energy the sports fans are are finally you know getting what they deserve and some good teams and um you know i know it's been a tough tough couple of years or you know maybe a little longer than a couple years for a lot of these guys teams so um we're hoping to add to that excitement and Bye.

Good morning. Well, as Florida residents are dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Milton and Helene, still for that matter, that is all that is on their minds, survival. But for some Swifties, there's only one thing on their minds, and that's the Era's tour. Taylor's set to arrive in Miami next Thursday, October 18th, where she's going to play three shows. And ahead of those shows, Swifties with tickets to those Miami concerts are freaking out online that they might end up being canceled in the wake of the hurricanes. So some Floridians are hitting back at concerned Swifties for complaining about the concert when people's lives and livelihoods and homes are at risk or have been devastated. Others online get it, like this Swiftie who said people are allowed to be afraid and upset that Era's tour Miami could get canceled. It's not insensitive. They're not saying it's more important than destruction, but they've been looking forward to this for months. It's the tour of a lifetime, and they've spent a lot of money on it. Stop policing people who are just voicing their sadness that they may miss out on something important to them.

Feeding America announced that Taylor donated $5 million to the relief effort serving Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina due to Hurricanes Milton and Helene. And so that's going to help them provide some, you know, essential food, clean water, supplies, rebuild and recover to those in need.

And I'm assuming that if Taylor heard her fans getting all upset over the fact that there may be issues with the tour, that she would be like, people's lives are more at stake than a tour.

I haven't seen her comment on that yet.

I mean, nothing speaks louder than five million dollars to assist people in need.

Yeah, I really feel like the mom is just in denial. And oh, my goodness, this just breaks my heart for that daughter.

I'm very sad that she hears this this way. And a lot of people were upset that we did this. There was a lot of people that thought that, you know, even though she's, you know, a grown adult woman, that she should stay out of her mom's business. Absolutely not. And I think, honestly, somebody needs to be there for the mom, because you're right. I think the mom is in a little bit of denial.

Oh, yeah. She needs all the support she can get, 100%. And I don't think there's anything wrong with the daughter. I have two by myself, and, well, just shake it. It's just crazy. But I'm glad that she did this. And, you know, shame on him. And I just hope the boy, his spouse, or her mom actually gets a grip of this and actually realizes that it's wrong.

interesting you know you talk about how you had a rocky relationship you would think that he'd be doing everything he can to kiss your ass to make sure that he didn't lose you as a daughter or did

he blame you uh i don't think he necessarily blamed me but he also left me to watch my younger brother so he can go out with her all the time after the divorce oh wow how about there was a lot of times like he wouldn't come home i have um a younger brother from his other previous affair that my mom stayed with him oh wow and he would be out partying and stuff like that with the new girlfriend so it was very rocky until I moved out at 19. back into order in your own lives yeah i right now assess we're just trying to figure out and checking in um someone who does so much for our show she's our promotions director so she handles all the prizing and whatnot she completely lost her roof does not have a place to stay now so she's trying to figure out what to do with that so it's nikki nikki's one of the best marketing people in our entire company. She's unbelievable. Hands down. Yeah. So her and her husband who also works for iHeart, they lost their roof. Um, we're, I mean, we're just trying to check in with everyone. Alyssa, my girlfriend's from Clearwater born and raised, uh, immediately when she woke up, it's just calling her family and hoping she can get ahold of them. Some phones aren't working. Some people don't have power. So, you know, if they didn't prepare as much as they should have and now they're not going to be able to get in contact with anyone until they can. Right now, it's just assessment. And then the moment that that's done, Florida's strong. And, you know, it's literally two greatest states, two greatest type of people, Florida and Michigan. So we'll bounce back, and we'll bounce back quick. But it's just bouncing back from two weeks ago with Helene. Yeah, now Milton, and then there's a chance, and this actually happened back in 2004, but there is a chance that we're going to get hit by another hurricane on Wednesday, it's looking like. Stop it. That would have similar effects as what we had two weeks ago, so storm surges and flooding. I mean, this one was all about wind and a lot of rain, not a lot of like actual like ocean water coming up on land, but a lot of rain and wind, even inland. We have a very big listening audience. It stretches very like all around the state of Florida, even inland, like where the Tigers play their spring trainings in Lakeland, Florida. and that you know completely flooded and those are people too where while we were doing our hurricane preparation shows and just taking calls from everyone that was all people that were calling and saying hey i'm you know i'm good and if people need anything we'll come out to st pete and we'll help or hey if anyone needs anything in bradenton we'll we'll make it down there and whatever we can do and now they need help yeah people were not expecting it to the

storm moved by the way yeah i saw this on the news this morning in lakeland florida where the tigers spring train that's where the airplanes are that fly into the center of the hurricane to tell you if it's a cat five or cat four and they had to move their planes because they did not realize that lakeland was going to get hit like it got hit so they had to get those planes that they need to make sure that they have because that's how you get the forewarning they had to move those those planes out of there and moving resources.

And I'm sure you guys talked about this, but

But, you know, with Tropicana Field, which is where the Rays play, it's an indoor stadium. There's a dome, as I'm choking right now. But that's where first responders were staying. So that's where they had all of the first responders that were going to go out immediately and be surveying and helping and assisting those that needed the help while the storm was going on. That's the roof that got ripped off. So then they had to figure out all of that as well.

Well, you continue to stay safe, and I know that you've got some fundraising stuff that's going to be coming up, and I know all of our show and all of our stations are going to be helping out with that fundraising effort. I saw this morning that a group of Detroiters came together to find – they just wanted hygienic supplies. That was their goal was toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, things like that. great idea and they got three truck loads of it heading down to florida right now so um and they're going to stop off in north carolina to drop some off to them too so wow be safe buddy i love you and uh we want to make sure that nothing happens to any individuals we can replace

Like, Jacob loves it so much, and we've done it. I've gone to Halloween Horror Nights, which is down in Universal Studios. This place is better than any of the Halloween Horror Nights that I've ever been to. Their special effects are ridiculous. And I think that if you're somebody that really likes to get haunted, this is the place to go to. Honestly, that night is going to be about partying, too. And I'm partly to blame for this, too, so I can't leave myself out of it, but I'm a huge idiot. So my mom moved recently from Grosseal, which is. in the down river area for our detroit listeners and uh moved up to royal oak um big move saves us about an hour when it comes to visiting her so we're all really excited about it we being my sisters and um my kids and um so we're helping her with some of the things that she needed for this new house some of the furniture from her old house didn't fit you know because she was downsizing. So I had ordered her a dining room table and some like four of those like cozy upholstered chairs to put around this dining room table. I'm stupid. And I accidentally I hit purchase so quickly. You know how it auto fills everything for you now? Well, it sent everything to my house. So I get home yesterday and there are eight, nine, 10. I don't even know how many humongous boxes on my driveway because everything had gotten delivered to my house, even though it would have made a whole lot more sense to have it just delivered to her house. So I said to Wes, he has a Ram. And I said, can you please load all of this stuff up? It might take us a couple of trips, but load it up and then drop it off. Like we'll take it to my mom's house and help her put it together or whatever. So last night he started doing that. So he loads up the bed of his truck. And I was picking up a carryout on my way. Obviously, I couldn't go in his truck because it was filled with all of these boxes. So he got there first. And I get a phone call from him. And he was like, okay, so you gave me the address. Now, mind you, he had never been before. So he didn't know which house was hers. He's like, you gave me the address. I roll up in driveway i back in my truck she left the garage open for me so i unloaded everything um he's like it took me a second it was so heavy i probably could have used some help i'm like sorry and he's like and then a very nice older blonde woman walks out and said thank you so much for all of this but i didn't order any of it i'm sandy who are you no wrong house so he had to load it all up again All of that furniture. Oh, no. He accidentally got the driveways mixed up. So he met my mom's new neighbor, Sandy.

Who watched him this whole time, by the way. She saw this going down.

I don't know how soon she saw it going down.

She saw it.

So then he had to load it all back up, go into the driveway next to Sandy's where my mom actually lived, and then unload it all once again. I would have lost it.

For real.

Yeah, he wasn't exactly the happiest camper when I got there with dinner last night.

What would have happened if he walked into the house with Sandy's house?

Well, the funny thing is my mom had left her garage door open for him, so it was just easy for him to load everything in until we were ready to put it together. And Sandy just happened to have her garage door open as well. So it made total sense to Wes. Right? Garage door is open. Yeah, it's perfect. And to be quite frank, I think we can place the entire blame on Sandy. Because if she would have just had her garage closed. I mean, yeah. This never would have been an angel. If she would have been outside, you know. I have. Really, Sandy's a bitch. I have to tell you.

I have heard so many stories when we've done the walked into the wrong house stories from our listeners that now if I go to somebody's house, I legit will not walk up to their door or do anything until I know for a fact that that's their house. Like how Wes just used the address and it ended up being the wrong address.

No, it was the right address. He just picked the wrong driveway to match the house. Oh, okay. Do you see what I mean?

But still, like I will not, like we have had, we've done the topic before of, you know, walked into the wrong apartment and I've done that. I've walked into the wrong apartment. I literally have gone into the wrong place. I now, when I do it in my GPS, I look to see if the dot is over the house. Like, you know what I mean? Right. And then it does, do you guys use the GPS where you don't know what side of the street it's on? I still haven't figured out that the arrow is pointed to one of the sides. Like when you know what side that is coming up on, like when you're trying to go to business. I always screw that up.

But this reminds me of the stories you hear of like something being done at the wrong house, right? Like you've heard this story of they re-roofed an entire house and it was the wrong house. Or they chopped down a tree in the front yard when it was the wrong house.

What do you do if you chop down the wrong house's tree? Like, you can't just rebuild a tree.

Yeah.

You know?

And that stuff happens. Like, in this case, obviously, thank God, it was just he unloaded an entire dining room.

Wasn't there a local story not that long ago recently of somebody that, God, what was it? Was it a roof? It was a roof. That's where I got that from. Yeah.

They accidentally took off and re-roofed the house next door, I think it was, or across the street or something. Did they get to keep the new roof?

I know it was well it was

But they had to do, they had to fix that other person's roof. But I mean, like if, if my roof is the one that you made the mistake on, you keep it, you gave me the new roof. I get to keep it right for free. Like, right. Yes. Yeah. Like, cool. Like, honestly, it's not even so much a matter of, of, uh, uh, the, the wrong building your online business. Hold on a second. Hold on. This is, I think this was an inside edition. It's not even so much the route getting a new roof. I didn't want a new roof. I had a roof.

Debra and Scott center have a beautiful new roof. The only problem, it's by accident. He was on a business trip, and I decided to randomly go with him. So we were about five hours away. Meanwhile, here in Oklahoma City, we have an entire roofing crew show up at our house, trucks in the driveway, front driveway, back driveway, dipsy dumpster, and they start going to work completely, tearing off our roof. The only problem was, we didn't order a roof. It took a few hours for employees to notice the mistake. Somebody had texted numbers and had inverted two numbers and sent the crew to the wrong location, to our house. And I think the project manager showed up at the right house and said, where are you guys? Where's the crew? And they're like, we're at the house, tearing off the roof. And that's when we got a pretty frantic phone call.

And Debra and I are sitting next to each other going, what's going on? Is our house on fire? And he's like, well, I don't really know how to tell you this, but we're about 75%, 80% of the way through taking off your roof and realize that we shouldn't have been. Wow.

What I love about this was that company did a whole social media campaign and marketed that they gave it to them for free, so they got a lot of business out of it. That's great. Win, win, win for everybody.

Want to hear the craziest part? It was Sandy's whose house they should have taken the room out of.

And it'll say something like, let's say, for instance, it'll say like Shannon Murphy, 1234 Elm Street. And I'll comment on there. I think that belongs to Shannon. It's like, pick up the Amazon package and rock it down for you, you lazy bastard.

Victor, Chelsea and I door dashed Jay Alexander's the other night. and our J. Alexander's DoorDash shows that it was delivered to our house, shows a picture of it delivered, but it's not on our front doorstep. Well, I looked at the picture and realized they went to a neighbor's. I had to, like, match the neighbor's front door with it, go to their house. They're eating our J. Alexander's. They dropped it off at the wrong house, but the people that got it just started eating the thing.

Well, you know, what's funny is I've gotten that where Taco Bell's delivered at my house at like 11 30 at night and tina comes in the room and she's like did you order taco bell i go first of all it's a mile away from our house i would go get it and it just sitting there and i'll wait a few minutes she's like you're gonna eat it i'm like hell no i don't know who's this is i don't know if it's a setup if it's been poisoned or whatever oh i'd eat that in a heart oh really

oh my god can you imagine coming home your carpets have been cleaned but nothing has been stolen i would be so freaked out i'd be so happy i would be like there's a guy waiting to murder me on this clean carpet

All right, top trending stories of the day. Obviously, the biggest story of the day is the hurricane that has swept through Florida. It is now over the Pacific. It's actually going to cause rain, it looks like. Thank God, not for us. I think it's going to be going up the East Coast, causing some issues. But Hurricane Milton made landfall yesterday as a Category 3 storm with maximum winds at 120 miles an hour. It came ashore over Siesta Key, Florida, which is just outside of Sarasota, Florida. I think more people know of Sarasota, Florida. And became an issue for a lot of people down there. We've talked about it this morning and talked about what this hurricane along with the Helene has done just devastating our country. And now there's a third hurricane that's coming. Joe was on with us last hour talking about that, Joe from the Joe Show. Just crazy hurricane season that we've been having. Did you see, and I'll talk about a couple of the stories here that we didn't get a chance to discuss recently. Did you see the story about how people were told they had to evacuate? It was a mandatory evacuation. And there were still some that didn't, but many did. And did you see the people that would leave their pets behind, which is just to me the most cruel thing ever, but the one that was the most cruel was the person who left their dog behind and they intentionally left him behind because they chained the dog to a fence. on the side of the road when a very smart Florida State Highway Patrol trooper was driving by, saw this thing on the side of the road, and then saved the dog, pulling the dog in and making sure that the dog was okay. The dog now has become so famous that people from all over the world are wanting to adopt this dog. And then others are saying, you know what? We're going to donate to the Tampa Bay Area homeless shelters, the dog shelters. The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, says that he promises to find this pet abuser and hold that person accountable. Oh, that's the wrong clip. Ah, son of a gun. I sound like such a good news guy when I do it, and then I go to the wrong clip. Oh, here you go.

I mean, first of all, what kind of an animal would just leave a dog chained to a pole in the middle of a hurricane? I mean, it's just unbelievable that somebody would do that. And so I'm thankful for the FHP folks out of Tampa for rescuing the dog. They did bring it to the vet. The dog has a clean bill of health. And who knows, maybe we'll do some adoption, put the dog up for adoption, and we can have some people in Florida come and compete for it and take it.

They should give some accommodations to that trooper that stopped and did that. I mean, that obviously was amazing that he was able to see it. Thank God he was able to see it just sitting there on the side of the road. I've got to watch the video of that. It made me so sad to see. It's one of those stories, though, where a story like that happens and goes viral. Yeah. And maybe some good comes out of it. Yeah, it just made me think of all of the other pets and animals. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. Did you guys see this story? The other big story that's trending is obviously the election still. We're less than 30 days away from the election of Vice President Harris and former President Trump. The FBI has thwarted a Afghan man who is planning on doing some election day terrorism. The FBI arrested this guy who is inspired by the Islamic State. I guess he was going to do this for ISIS and try to be a martyr on the day that everybody was going to go vote. They said that he was trying to buy guns illegally in order to do this. And they believe that his terror cell, which was him and I guess a kid that he was using as help in this. But they believe that they were able to stop him from doing it. And they think that they possibly were able to stop other ISIS guys from doing it. Wow. I've often wondered sometimes if that would be one of those things, like on a day like that, where everybody's talking about the election. You hear about terrorism on 9-11 and, you know, on certain days. It's, you know, is your guard down on certain days? And our guards can never be down, you know what I mean, when it comes to, you know, terrorism and what can happen. Are you guys tired of all the commercials for the election? I'm starting to get sick of the air.

i have not gotten i got i get so many of them i get so many of them and by the way you're talking about these commercials we get blamed we're running a million and one commercials and then people automatically think that when we're running commercials that they're you know showing we're showing our support towards a particular candidate

off of it. It's so funny to me that it was a topic of conversation on one of the posts we had yesterday about people like if they obviously they're all voting for Kamala because those are the only commercials we have. Anybody can buy it. Anybody can buy any advertising they want. That's just the campaign that's happened to be spending that money. I don't know. And we have to provide

equal opportunity to any candidate. So like it's and it's legal because we're a federally licensed thing.

They buy them. We have to provide fair price whatever the heck it is right to them so that's kind of how it how it works and it just so happens to be that the commercials that we're running that uh the harris campaign is choosing more so to advertise on us than uh trump's campaign is doing legally we can't deny anybody right no not at all uh we can uh we can let anybody uh run an ad you know there's so many different places that you can run ads did you see now that they're running ads before porn sites the porn sites and ready for this Jessica is doing the story for this one here this is awesome
