Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

Man, some big dirty news this morning. Shannon with the Dirty on the 30. What's going on, Shannon?

Well, we're going to be talking about this a ton this morning. Two weeks before he was suspended for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy, Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams Jamo was nearly arrested by Detroit police over a gun found in a vehicle. And now DPD is investigating why Jamo was released from custody after officers originally planned to take him to jail. Now, I want to give you the CliffsNotes version of this story, okay? This happened back on October 8th. Detroit police pulled over a vehicle being driven by Jamo's brother for speeding. When questioned by the officer, Jamo's brother disclosed that there were two guns in the car. The first was in the backseat. The second was under Jamo's seat. Officers found that the gun in the back seat was registered to Jamo's brother, who had a CPL. Fine. The gun under Jamo's seat was registered to him, but he didn't have a CPL. That's a big problem. The officer concluded that and essentially said to Jamison Williams, you're going to jail. Didn't know who he was. This was very clear until Jamo said, I play for the Detroit Lions. He wasn't taken to jail, though. Instead, a supervisor was called to the scene, which, by the way, not unusual for a high-profile stop.

We've been dumping, by the way, nonstop. I thought that clip was good. No, no, no.

Here's the thing. This new sergeant comes to the scene. Explain again, just because

I had to dump, so it dumps you off for a second. I played the clip of a little bit of J-Mo getting pulled over, and you could hear a swear in there, so I had to dump that real quick.

He's saying, I play for the Lions.

He gets pulled over. He's got a concealed weapon in the car. He says...

Gun's registered to him, but he doesn't have

a CPL. Okay, and they don't know that he doesn't have a CPL yet, or they're figuring... I think when I watched the tape, at first they thought that, okay well he had the gun they have to do a background to see if he's got a cpl then they realize later in the stop that it's not registered to him correct okay correct and so

when this new sergeant comes on the scene he instantly recognizes like it's jameson williams yeah um and so he is trying to determine if jmo needed to be arrested or if his brother's cpl covered both the brother's gun and J-Mo's gun. And so it still looked like, you know, over the course of 30 minutes that Jameson Williams was going to jail. But then all of a sudden everything changed. The sergeant spoke to a lieutenant who said J-Mo could be released from custody. We don't get to hear that side of the conversation and all of the body cam footage that is out there. So J-Mo was taken out of handcuffs. They gave him back his gun. no warrant request was submitted and so now people are going well wait a second if he wasn't jameson williams the from the detroit lions would this have happened this way no is the question everybody's answering coach dan campbell by the way commenting yesterday i trust this kid

i trust him and unfortunately you got to pay for your sins you know interesting by the way

channel 7 was who did the report in detroit the abc affiliate do you think there's a little backlash on their social media today if you read some of the comments people are mad they're standing behind the fact that now you're screwing us up for a potential super bowl run because jmo's now in legal hot water and now he's possibly even more of a liability to the team you know who else was

mad the sergeant that was called to the scene because you can hear him whispering in one of the body cam videos to the arresting officer or to the officer that pulled over the vehicle. I'm so mad at you.

I just don't understand why you wouldn't have a concealed carry permit.

Well, because he's got a gun illegally.

No, it was a legally owned gun. He was illegally transporting it. He couldn't have it under his seat concealed.

And then he made the comment, and you can hear him in there. He goes, why do you have this gun? He goes, because I'm in Detroit. It's dangerous. That's one of the comments that might come back and bite him in the ass.

This whole situation is just unfortunate, bro. Yeah, it really is. It seems like we can't catch a break this season. I know. We're so good, but if it's injuries and it's this off-the-field stuff, like, Jesus.

Channing Tatum, Zoe Kravitz are done. They have called off their engagement after three years together. They actually got engaged like a year ago, right around Halloween. But Zoe had been spotted in public recently without her engagement ring, so you knew there was some trouble. It's unclear when or why they broke up. Real quick, Kanye West has ended his legal battle with Adidas two years after the brand cut ties with him over some anti-Semitic remarks that were made a couple of years ago. The CEO of Adidas said they reached an out-of-court agreement, which did not include any payments. So no money going either way. No more issues. Everybody moves on from this.

They can't do that. They already started selling his shoes, even though, you know, he was such a bad guy. They still wanted to make money off of him.

so that audio courtesy of wxyz channel 7 in detroit put the officer and you heard him was like okay so the gun is registered to you but you don't have a cpl and that is a problem so i have to take you to jail i have to arrest you and take you to jail that's just our policy well jmo wasn't taken to jail instead a supervisor was called to that scene and that supervisor that sergeant was a huge lions fan you could tell that from his phone lock screen that was the lions logo and he knew exactly who jmo was and he was like we uh-oh this is not good what's his name so that was a much condensed version of what actually happened that sergeant that was brought The big Lions fan took about 30 minutes to make a bunch of calls, finally called a lieutenant who said, yes, J-Mo should be released from custody. Now, we're not hearing that lieutenant side of the conversation in that body cam footage that you just played.

Can I tell you or read to you some of the comments that are on WXYZ Channel 7 in Detroit? This Ross Jones guy, by the way, might need to get a job in Cleveland after this thing. These are some of the text messages. I cannot believe a local news outlet would try to do this to one of our Lions players. This is the unthinkable. You're ruining our season. Another one here that says, definitely, I think the reporter should be fired for this. He's not a Lions fan, and he's trying to screw the Lions this year. Another one here that says, I really don't get how you guys are running a story like this, saying that guns were found. He actually admitted that there was a gun in the car, told the police officer right off the bat. Reporting this story is only trying to screw the Lions. And then another person wrote right afterwards and says, yeah, this happened just before the Dallas game. Should we investigate why this reporter actually is doing it now when it was weeks ago? Thank God this police officer didn't arrest Jamo. He caught two touchdowns in that game.

See, and I think that this is something that you talk about on a first date because I think that that's a bit of information that's really important. and I like that's also a question that I would ask right away like have you ever been married before have you like do you have kids like those are all

important bits of information to me so i think that that was definitely something that you should have shared and by the way like it could have cleared up this whole conversation and situation by you saying i'm in the process of divorce it's taking forever you know here's i don't think you have to give all the dirty details but i do think because then then this happens and people are like

Well Channing Tatum Zoe Kravitz have called off their engagement They are splitting after three Years together got engaged Right around this time No really when I saw that pop up That was me She's not been wearing An engagement ring so everybody kind of knew something was up. I don't know when or why they broke up, by the way. Metro Boomin is in some major trouble today. He is facing a new lawsuit from a woman who says he allegedly raped her in 2016. Her name is Vanessa La Maestra. She claims that she was suffering from depression after the death of her infant son at the time, but hit it off with Metro during a trip to Vegas. And Vanessa said, eventually Metro invited her back to his studio in LA, where she says she observed him abusing codeine. Fast forward a couple of months, they stayed in contact. Vanessa says she visited Metro at his studio, took half of a Xanax and a shot of alcohol because she was just kind of like in her emotions about her baby. That was heavy on her mind. She then blacked out on the couch in his studio. Vanessa said she eventually regained consciousness. She was in a bed at that point, Metro on top of her, allegedly raping her. I'll leave out all of the details. After blacking out and waking up again, Vanessa says Metro appeared and informed her that she was inside of a hotel room in Beverly Hills. It was time to leave. She said she had no memory of how she got there in the first place. She later learned she was pregnant and said it had to be Metro's baby because she had not had sex with anybody else. She ultimately terminated that pregnancy. But to make matters worse, Vanessa also believes that Metro joked about her trauma the following year on his Rap Saved Me record, co-starring 21 Savage and Offset. I think Quavo was on that as well. And it includes the lyrics, she took a zanny, then she fainted. I don't think I can say the rest of the lyrics, those are pretty bad. But, yeah, so she's suing for all sorts of things, but rape being that big charge there. How did she prove that now? I don't know.

Well, there's photos and video of it, but Scott Swift allegedly buddied up to his seatmate on a recent Southwest Airlines flight out of New Orleans. And this girl, like, didn't record the whole thing, but she posted a photo on TikTok and it was captioned, just Mr. Swift on my way home, on my flight home from NOLA. Her name's Taylor Moore. And she said she was like kind of freaking out when Taylor Swift's dad comes and sits, you know, right near her. And she said she didn't ask anything about Travis Kelsey specifically. But she says Mr. Swift just gushed about him, talked about how much he loves Travis for his daughter, which was super cute to her. I guess he also subtly dissed his daughter's exes by saying he said something like out of all of her boyfriends over the past 12 years, Travis has made the biggest impact on her and our family, but

See, I think it's very important because when you say these things and they use them as headlines, it sounds very bad at face value. But when you take into account and you put it in context that he was gambling in a hotel room, not on the team's facility, which is a very important factor, but when you're traveling with the team, they still consider that as a part of the team's facility, which is stupid. gambling in a hotel room on college football games and then the cream that he was using wasn't on the ban list. So it's not like he's doing things that are like... Is that what it was?

Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams after they say he was caught with a concealed handgun during a traffic stop. Williams is not a CPL holder. The seven investigators exclusively obtaining body cam video of the police stop in Detroit. But were the cuffs taken off because of his high

profile status? Our questions have already triggered a Detroit police internal investigation.

Here's to have an investigator, Ross Jones, with what he has learned.

I want to know if the fact that this individual was a Detroit Lions player, did that play a factor in the decision? Of course it did.

It's just after midnight on October 8th, and near the corner of Connor and Jefferson, two Detroit police officers are pulling over a driver for speeding.

I'm off the Detroit police. You know why I'm stopping you?

In the passenger seat of the black Audi is Detroit Lions wide receiver, Jameson Williams. Driving the car is his brother.

Before you start returning, any weapons in the vehicle? Yeah. Yeah, here's a CPL holder? Yeah. Okay, where's your CPL at? All right. Any other weapons in the vehicle besides that one? Uh, yeah. You got another one. Where's that one at? You don't got to reach for it. It's over there with that one.

Officers said they found the second gun under Jameson Williams' seat. They would take both weapons, finding that the first, found in the back seat, was registered to Williams' brother, who had a concealed pistol license. The gun under Williams' seat was registered to him, but he didn't have a CPL. And that, the officer concluded, was a problem. By the way, this guy has the creepiest voice.

It's clear from the stop that the officer does not know who Williams is. But repeatedly, he would remind him.

At one point, Williams' brother tells police that the gun belongs to him. But during the stop, the Lions wide receiver admits the gun is his.

I got a gun for protection. Do y'all know where I live at?

Detroit. Despite. He said that to the cop. Yeah. I mean, J-Mo be out here though. Yeah.

Like he'd be at the Coney's and all that. He'd really be out here. His celebrity status, Williams is handcuffed and placed in the back of the squad car. DPD commander Michael McGinnis says that was the right call.

I feel that there was probable cause to arrest and that he was under arrest by the patrol officer. And because of that, he should have been conveyed to the Detroit Detention Center and processed. But Williams wasn't taken to jail.

Instead, a supervisor was called to the scene. The department says that's not unusual for a high-profile stop. It's a precaution to make sure I's are dotted and T's are crossed. So within a few minutes, a sergeant arrives on scene.

He indicated he was so mad at them, and I think what he was referring to was the arresting officers, I assume in a jovial way, for them having made the traffic stop and detained the passenger.

It's unbelievable. This is Detroit. They don't pull you over for anything in Detroit. What's going on? This is Jameson Williams. This is the Lions player. By the way, we've got to get Jameson Williams hooked up with top-notch limousine and party bus so he doesn't get pulled over.

After conferring with multiple supervisors, the sergeant makes two more phone calls and it sounds like Williams is about to be taken to jail.

it's the 11th but minutes later everything changes the sergeant speaks to a lieutenant who says williams should be released from custody we can't hear his side of the conversation okay

into this case and the decision not to arrest the lions wide receiver late last week a warrant request was submitted to the Wayne County prosecutor's office, with Williams facing a charge of carrying a concealed weapon in a motor vehicle. Quite naturally, I think the probable

cause was there for an arrest on this particular individual. And my concern in this particular case is to make sure that we've done everything legitimately in this case.

Well, the following Sunday, Williams traveled with the team to Dallas, where he recorded three catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Today, the Detroit Lions released the following statement. It reads, Jameson made us aware immediately that he was a passenger in a routine traffic stop on October 8th. We discussed the incident with him and have kept the league informed of what we know. We understand he was released without incident or citation. It is now our understanding that the Detroit Police Department is revisiting the matter. Jameson has hired an attorney and will not be commenting further out of respect for the legal process. We also received a statement from Williams' attorney, Todd Flood. It reads, on October 8th, my clients were pulled over for a election. Floods the attorney? You know him? He's married to one of the people over at Channel 7. What? Yeah, he's married to... Why you compare the story to? Todd! The flag ain't so big.

Well, I think if you're a married guy and you're still living with your ex, I would assume that you would sit there and say, yeah, I'm kind of going through this right now and say something. Just like if you just went through a divorce or a big breakup, I think people want to know what stories, I mean, I think when you're on a first date, you don't talk about what your life is all about. You don't talk about what's going on.

Not the marriage stuff. Here's the thing. I was totally on his side. I have seen so many divorces take years. And I think people move on and they're ready for the next step in their life. Whatever. But as soon as this guy said, I'm in the process of moving out, I said, nope, I don't have your back too soon. You cannot, you can't do that.

See, and I think that this is something that you talk about on a first date. because i think that that's a bit of information that's really important and i like that's also a question that i would ask right away like have you ever been married before have you like do you have kids like those are all important bits of information to me so i think that that was definitely something that you should have shared and by the way like it could have cleared up this whole conversation and situation by you saying i'm in the process of divorce it's taking forever Or, you know, I don't think you have to give all the dirty details, but I do think because then then this happens and people are like, oh, wait, he's married, dude. But if she doesn't ask and by him just voluntarily giving that information, it can cause some extreme problems.

But if he's at a point where he's definitely over his on paper wife and he's ready to move on, then if it's going to prevent him from having the ability to move on by telling him he's married, he's never going to be happy.
