Last week, that super group Band-Aid announced that they were going to be releasing the ultimate mix of the charity single, Do They Know It's Christmas, this song for its 40 years old. Wow. 1984. Yeah. So the new release is going to feature vocals from across the four recorded versions from 84, 89, 2004, and 2014. So they're taking like Bono's voice, George Michael's voice, Harry Styles, a ton more. Well, some controversy with this. Ed Sheeran performed on the 2014 edition alongside Coldplay, Sam Smith, Rita Ora. I can't remember who else was on that one. But he has since said his vocals are being used for this new one without his permission. And he said, not cool. He wrote on Instagram yesterday, my approval wasn't sought on this new Band-Aid 40 release. Had I had the choice, I would have respectfully declined the use of my vocals. He said, a decade on, and my understanding of the narrative associated with this has changed. It's my personal stance, and I'm hoping it's a forward-looking one. And the issue is, I had to do some digging as to why he would say he would have politely declined. But critics say the song may generate sympathy and donations. However, the organization perpetuates really damaging stereotypes that stifle Africa's economic growth, tourism, and ultimately destroys its people's pride, dignity, and identity. And so what Ed Sheeran is ultimately saying is that they're basically showcasing dehumanizing imagery. So it kind of fuels pity rather than a partnership, and he's just not on board for that. It was interesting. Real quick, Travis Scott. I like this song so much, I had no idea that there was controversy with it. Travis Scott going to be part of Monday Night Raw when WWE makes its Netflix debut on January 6th. He's also going to have some new music that will serve as the new theme song for Raw. I know Smackdown previously teased like a snippet of an unreleased Travis track during an episode back in October. But I don't know if he's going to be performing on the Raw episode or be part of a storyline stepping into the ring or maybe even both. But he's definitely going to play a pretty big role. January 6th, by the way, Netflix. and lastly i want to shed some light on a local story that is affecting hundreds of dancers as in ballet dancers mojo and kev i feel like i need to clear that up uh and also more than 20 local dance studios and a whole bunch of people that i know and are very near and dear to me the plymouth canton ballet company does a beautiful production of the nutcracker every year this year is actually the 40th anniversary of that production and i know so many people go
