good morning good morning good morning welcome to the mojo in the morning show Thanksgiving week. Yes. And wow, what a weekend, huh? Big win for the Wolverines. Still undefeated and getting ready for a big game this weekend against the Ohio State Buckeyes. We got to make sure we remember that. We're, of course.

00:03:39 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 4:

We don't have to.

00:03:41 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 5:

While we're on in Toledo. We got a 50-50 split, I think, down there. But plus It's going to be an interesting week As far as the Lions are concerned The Lions going for Four wins in a row They haven't won three wins in a row Since 2017 I don't even know what the stat is For four wins in a row I don't even know if they even have that as a stat

00:04:06 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 1:

We're going to do it

00:04:07 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 5:

The possibility of playoffs is possible now It's crazy

00:04:12 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 1:

We have a better record

00:04:14 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 5:

than green bay isn't that great a lot of good stuff from the weekend we'll talk about it coming up here in a little bit uh it's mojo in the morning so we went to our friends for a friends giving which by the way i hate friends givings even though i love turkey well because well first off i'll tell you the story about what happened at their house and then secondly i'll give you my theory on Friendsgivings coming up here.

00:04:41 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 3:

There were so many of those yesterday.

00:04:43 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 5:

Oh, people were having them all weekend.

00:04:45 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I was at an early one, and the person had to leave. They had two more Friendsgivings later that night.

00:04:50 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

It's like crazy. Well, we went to our friend Andrea's house, and it was a bunch of us that were there, and she decided she was going to host this year. And she's actually...

00:05:00 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 1:

a good cook, but she decided she was going to try to keep it as clean as possible. And then there was stuffing on the ceiling. That's all I will say. She was pulling the turkey. She's one of those that does the stuffing in the bird's ass. Like she puts the stuffing which I think is the proper way to do it because it gets all the grease and juices from the turkey On the stuffing and you pull it right out of the Butthole and it's just honestly It's delicious when you do that And my butt cracks So she was pulling The turkey and the stuffing out of The oven And she was using one of those Disposable tin foil pans You know they have them at Kroger's And Meyers and stuff Where you just throw it away right afterwards It's the greatest thing ever It is the best especially with something like a turkey where you're scrubbing that pan for a half hour. Yeah, soaking it for days, right?

00:06:01 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 2:

You can use those for turkey?

00:06:03 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 1:

They actually have one that's meant for a turkey.

00:06:05 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 2:

But it's so thin and the turkey's 28 pounds.

00:06:09 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 1:

Well, here's the problem, though. They have different ways to do it so that it's not what happens to her, but she pulls the turkey out of the oven and the thing, and she's holding it from the ends with the potholder, sort of, you know, the wormers. And as she's pulling it out The turkey literally is so heavy Like Spike said It causes the thing to kind of go center And completely fold up like an accordion Causing then the turkey to fall out And then everything just to splatter all over the place On the ceiling, on the floor, on the cabinets I mean, there was First off, let me tell you this There was less stuffing in the bird's butthole After this thing and more stuffing on the ceiling than ever before. And the craziest is we're all standing around. You know how people get where they're really, really hungry and they just stand around and the poor person who's cooking has to have an audience while this is going on? And we're all standing around and all of a sudden I hear one person, and it's John, screams, Boston Market? Wait a second, though. Did anybody still eat the turkey and the stuffing? Oh, yeah, absolutely. There was not as much stuffing And here's the thing I couldn't have the stuffing because it was not Gluten free stuffing But I ate the turkey And actually to be honest with you My favorite part of a turkey is the skin Of the turkey I love when it's crispy and stuff on the outside Do you guys like that at all or do you guys cut that right off Oh I like it Oh yeah we did that They were all upset I felt so bad for her She did such a great job It was honestly so sweet that she hosted it and did all this stuff. We all tried to clean up. There's grease spots on the ceiling that are just not going to come out right away. We did, you know, did all the, it was like, all right, we're cleaning up before we eat, which was the hardest thing ever because you're just sitting there just salivating. But I have a theory about Friendsgivings. My theory about Friendsgivings is it started so that you can do a test run before your family comes over so you don't have your mother or your father or in-laws witnessing what happened to Andrea. You know?

00:08:27 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 2:

It's a good theory. Remember, the origin of Friendsgiving was for people that weren't going to see their family, didn't have family around. So college kids would all get together and do Friendsgiving. But it usually tends to be someone who hasn't had as many Thanksgivings of cooking. Yeah. A little inexperienced.

00:08:43 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 1:

Like a test run or something. And then what I think what's caused for people to not like turkey, because nobody – Gen Zs, Xs, and Ys, and every Gens don't like turkey anymore. For some reason, people don't like turkey, and I know that they keep talking about the price of turkey and what turkey is, but I can't get my 20-something sons or my 17-year-old son to want to eat a turkey. I'm the only one in my – my wife doesn't like turkey. They all like honey-baked hams, and they all want, like, can we have a steak? I'm like, no, we're having a steak. We're not having a steak. Have you ever looked at a Thanksgiving picture and seen a steak on the table?

00:09:22 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 2:

Remember, we've been telling people how crazy expensive turkeys are this year because of the Asian bird flu wiping out the whole population. So yesterday, my niece and nephew brought their turkey to the dinner. And I was like, oh, this is huge. Where'd you get this turkey? He's at my brother's front yard. And it was exactly what we talked about on the air last week. You know how there's so many turkeys walking around? Wait, but are those? No, you can eat those. You can't eat those. Yeah, he killed a turkey Well, he lives out in rural Howell So maybe there's bigger, fatter turkeys out there But it was a huge turkey

00:09:53 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 1:

I would be afraid that the turkey has like E. coli, or not E. coli

00:09:57 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

Why? It's a natural turkey I mean, I don't know

00:10:00 - 00:10:01 | Speaker 4:

he knew if it had bird flu or something, but

00:10:01 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 3:

I don't, well, I would think that that's a city turkey.

00:10:06 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, it's kind of like hanging out on the side of the road. Yeah. He's out in the country.

00:10:10 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 4:

What do you think happens to the turkey? What do you think happens to the turkeys that are farm-raised that you guys eat? They live a lovely life. They are like shoved in a little pen that's about 12 inches by 12 inches pooping on each other.

00:10:21 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. Spike, I don't know if I'd eat that thing.

00:10:23 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 1:

I would. Yeah, the turkeys he's eaten is probably roadkill, like on the side of the road or old things. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.

00:10:31 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 3:

I think it's, those are, those turkeys got the smog from the big city. I don't know if I want them.

00:10:37 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 4:

No, he's out in the rural area. Really? It's not near the city. And where is he again? Howell? Way out in Howell Pinckney.

00:10:43 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 3:

Howell Pinckney? Oh, my God. You're going to eat one of those turkeys? It's funny, I see a lot of them these days. They're like running through my neighborhood. I don't even live there.

00:10:51 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 4:

Everybody said it was the best turkey I had forever because there's no preservatives, no additives. It was just walking around this earth about a week ago.

00:10:57 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 1:

I used to think it was so sad to eat turkeys until you meet a wild turkey. And those are the meanest creatures in the entire world that deserve to be eaten. I've threatened those turkeys. I'm going to eat you if you don't get hungry, and I would never do it.

00:11:10 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, those things will attack you if you're not careful. But Brandon, what's up? It's Mojo in the Morning Show.

00:11:18 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 6:

My girlfriend's dad is actually raising a turkey in his backyard right now. We've been raising it for the last couple weeks.

00:11:24 - 00:11:28 | Speaker 4:

Are you laughing at these guys that are saying, oh, it might have touched a road?

00:11:28 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 3:

Where are you calling from? What town are you calling from?

00:11:31 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 4:

Oxford.

00:11:32 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 3:

Really? And they raised turkeys there?

00:11:35 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, he got it from his friend. His name is Dave, actually. See, that's the thing. Wait, the turkey's name is Dave?

00:11:41 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 7:

He's got a turkey. Once it's got a name, you can't eat it. Yeah, I agree with you.

00:11:44 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 6:

No, no, I can't eat it. Me, personally, I can't since it's got a name and everything.

00:11:48 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:11:49 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. I'm telling you. That would scare the crap. I'd never be able to talk to another Dave ever again. What's up, Hannah?

00:11:57 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 5:

Hey, so I turkey hunt, and you guys think that the birds that we buy in the store are better than the ones that you can get organically outside?

00:12:08 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 4:

Right.

00:12:09 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 5:

It's not. I just feel like at least we know that they're out there. You don't know if they give them shots, and they give them all sorts of stuff.

00:12:16 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 3:

I want mine to be vaccinated. I want my turkeys to have vaccines.

00:12:21 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 4:

Did you ever pick up the turkey at the – did you ever order a turkey from a farm and pick it up?

00:12:27 - 00:12:29 | Speaker 5:

I have a – No, I'm asking Mojo.

00:12:30 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 4:

You used to go pick one out, didn't you? I used to go pick one out and it ruined me when I see that. It's scary. Yeah.

00:12:34 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 3:

My grandpa, my grandpa Daly, actually lived on a turkey farm. And for Thanksgiving every single year, we used to have to make him a steak and a baked potato because he would not – As a kid, that was his job was to wrangle up turkeys. So it was a bad deal.

00:12:49 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 4:

You thought it's because he cared for the turkeys. It's because he saw how they had 700 turkeys shoved on a half acre, pooping on each other, eating their own poop.

00:12:56 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, that would probably do me in, too, if I was living on a farm. Brendan, what's up?

00:13:01 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 6:

Wild turkey is the best turkeys to eat. Way better than a butterball.

00:13:06 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 3:

Come on, better than a butterball? But you can't call the butterball hotline if you have any issues trying to prepare it.

00:13:14 - 00:13:14 | Speaker 6:

True.

00:13:15 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:13:16 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 6:

You guys got to try it.

00:13:17 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. To me, a wild turkey that's roaming the streets that we see, I don't know if I'm going to do it. Let me ask you this. Would you eat one of the deer, like venison, from a deer that was just sitting in your front yard?

00:13:31 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 4:

Yes, I would.

00:13:32 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 3:

Oh, you're crazy.

00:13:33 - 00:13:38 | Speaker 4:

What do you mean sitting in your front yard? It's not roadkill. It's a living creature.

00:13:38 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 3:

I know, but I wouldn't kill it. That'd be like eating somebody's dog. I don't know. I just wouldn't do it.

00:13:42 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 4:

You'd rather have it electrocuted in a factory and processed by machines and sitting on a shelf for six weeks.

00:13:46 - 00:13:53 | Speaker 3:

I'd rather have it know that a guy got it up north in some, like, quaint little Michigan town. This is what I'm telling you.

00:13:54 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 7:

The story in my head is good. I'm just going to go with that.

00:13:56 - 00:14:05 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I don't want a Waterford turkey. No offense to Waterford, but I don't want one of yours. What's up, Annette?

00:14:06 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 2:

Hey, good morning, guys. So I live in Detroit, and about maybe 30 years ago, my mom and my dad bought a live turkey from, you know, the little bird market. We had that turkey maybe about a week before Thanksgiving So we thought it was a pet The night before Thanksgiving They killed the turkey And of course, you know, the Thanksgiving day We did not eat the turkey because we felt like Oh my god, we just ate our pet birds

00:14:34 - 00:14:39 | Speaker 3:

Traumatizing, isn't it?

00:14:39 - 00:14:43 | Speaker 4:

Yes I don't think you could do that when you have little kids in the house

00:14:43 - 00:14:44 | Unknown:

Exactly

00:14:44 - 00:14:46 | Speaker 3:

Thank you for the call Happy Thanksgiving

00:14:47 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 7:

Did I tell you guys that my family adopted a turkey for my sister? Yeah, what's the turkey's name? Roberto. You guys, you guys, so my sister Emily is vegan, so she doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving anyway.

00:15:00 - 00:15:31 | Speaker 6:

just because of personal beliefs, but she doesn't eat meat, obviously. So her birthday is November 11th. So every year for her birthday, she asks us to adopt a turkey. So this year we got Roberto. He comes with a little, like a certificate with his story about what he likes to do. His personality is curious and chatty. His favorite pastime is exploring the pasture. He lives at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, New York. I mean, he has like a whole, look at the pictures they send you of Roberto. to him. Do you get to FaceTime him? How do you know he's real?

00:15:31 - 00:15:45 | Speaker 7:

I don't know. Everybody gets that same picture the last eight years. But the other thing she's not telling everybody is... But he's curious and chatty. They adopt a turkey, but they still buy and kill and eat another turkey. Your sister just doesn't know about that. That's true.

00:15:46 - 00:15:54 | Speaker 9:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

00:18:30 - 00:18:32 | Speaker 3:

All right, Shannon with What's Trending Right Now on the Dirty on the 30. Good morning.

00:18:33 - 00:18:51 | Speaker 6:

Good morning. Well, Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles have called it quits after nearly two years together. That was the big dirty over the weekend. They're apparently taking a break from each other, and everybody's blaming their hectic schedules as the reason. The split, I'm told, was amicable. They remain close friends.

00:18:51 - 00:18:58 | Speaker 3:

I mean, this is like what their PR people tell everybody. You don't buy it, Megan, because I don't buy it either.

00:18:58 - 00:19:08 | Speaker 5:

Olivia was at every one of his, well, not everyone, but almost every single one of his love on tour shows, but they don't have time for each other. Yeah. They were together inseparable the last like two months.

00:19:08 - 00:19:34 | Speaker 6:

No bad blood. Nobody dumped anybody. Where was that two-year contract? Yeah. Anymore, it's like we're just so suspicious of everything. I know. A big congratulations to our very own Big Sean. He and Janae Aiko have expanded their family by welcoming a baby boy they named Noah. The little guy was born on November 8th.

00:19:35 - 00:19:46 | Speaker 4:

I'm glad, by the way, he went with Noah. That was my bad. Actually, I had no clue what he was going to say. Yeah, it's my first boy. Everyone isn't as lucky as you to be such an OG and locked in.

00:19:46 - 00:19:51 | Speaker 3:

Listen to you. Do we have a name picked out, or is that a secret until birth?

00:19:52 - 00:20:00 | Speaker 9:

Yeah, that's a secret until birth, because we do have one picked out, but we want to see his face just a minute.

00:20:00 - 00:20:07 | Speaker 3:

make sure it matches the anatomy, you know. So, at least that's what she said, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be what it's going to be. I wonder how many people do that.

00:20:07 - 00:20:10 | Speaker 2:

Also, it's a smart idea to keep the name secret because everybody has an opinion.

00:20:10 - 00:20:11 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:20:11 - 00:20:12 | Speaker 2:

And if you like the name, you like the name.

00:20:13 - 00:20:20 | Speaker 3:

I wonder how many people do that. I wonder how many people have, like, names picked out and then look at the baby and go, Nah, you don't look like a Noah. Really? My sister did that too.

00:20:20 - 00:20:23 | Speaker 6:

We waited to look at the baby, make sure it fits.

00:20:23 - 00:20:27 | Speaker 3:

Don't all babies, though, look the same? They all look like little scrunched up little things?

00:20:27 - 00:20:32 | Speaker 2:

Yes, I know. But if you have a name in your head and you look at the baby and you're like, it doesn't feel right. Really? You got to go with a different name.

00:20:32 - 00:20:35 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. To me, all babies look alike. I hate to say that, but...

00:20:35 - 00:20:36 | Speaker 2:

They're all wrinkly.

00:20:37 - 00:20:37 | Speaker 3:

Yes.

00:20:37 - 00:20:40 | Speaker 2:

The first 48 hours. They'll need to unscrunch. They're all aliens.

00:20:40 - 00:20:41 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:20:41 - 00:21:48 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Former President Donald Trump's Twitter account was reinstated by Elon Musk. This was Saturday, I believe, Elon tweeting. The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. He then linked to the results of a poll that he posted on Friday, which asked whether Trump should be allowed to return. The results obviously ended up being in favor of letting Trump back on Twitter with 51.8% of more than 15 million people voting yes. Now I'm told that he most likely won't get back on even though he's allowed to now because he was quoted as saying he's just going to stick to his own platform and he was done with Twitter. But we'll see Spike, your buddy Jack White, deactivated his record label. I saw Third Man Records from Twitter yesterday after the news of this reinstatement came. And he wrote on Instagram, shame on you for giving Trump and other professional liars the platform you are now in control of. And shame on anyone who does. And shame on you for thinking it's no big deal. Ava Mendez seems to have accidentally confirmed all of those rumors that she is married to Ryan Gosling.

00:21:49 - 00:21:57 | Speaker 1:

Everybody's like, really, seriously, everybody's welcoming us. It's been so beautiful. And my husband, Ryan, is here, the ordinary fellow you were talking about.

00:21:57 - 00:22:12 | Speaker 2:

Been together for 11 years. And yesterday, the 2022 FIFA World Cup kicked off in Qatar. And BTS' Jungkook took to the stage during opening ceremonies to showcase his new single. It's called Dreamers. It's a mojo in the morning world premiere.

00:23:14 - 00:23:26 | Speaker 3:

No, they had games yesterday. Oh, okay. Yeah, did you see the fans were all upset because there was no beer? Yeah. They were like, actually, the stadium was packed, and then it was half empty at the end because people were like, we're thirsty.

We've got Lydia, our associate producer here. Reese, director of social impact. And Katie, who is our executive audio director. Kind of a fun little weekend. Actually, I saw Shannon. I saw you had a fun weekend. And actually, I saw you posted on your story about your weekend. Shannon had a girls weekend. Boy, did she. And let me just say this to you. I never thought that girls weekends looked like the way that you guys made a girls weekend look. You guys were doing like wheelbarrow races or something like that. What were you doing?

00:37:43 - 00:38:43 | Speaker 1:

When you stick together a group of stressed out, tired moms in a little cabin in the middle of nowhere on the west side of the state, we were kind of snowed in because man they got a lot more snow you guys got a lot more snow over there than we did on the east side of the state um and i mean we had a lot of alcohol and so you didn't have to tell us that part we were just slap happy in the middle of the night and kind of just like wanted i don't i don't even know i think it was my idea to be honest with you like to play dumb games like airplane like you know what you do with your kids you lay on your back and you put them on your legs and we were airplaning each other and then we did and then we did chair gymnastics and then we did wheelbarrow races which actually my girlfriend's face got all screwed up from that because she face planted on the cement floor. I mean like why? I don't even know. Very sober.

00:38:43 - 00:38:52 | Speaker 2:

Did pillow fights happen at any time during this time? Did you guys jump on the bed at all? The worst thing about this is.

00:38:52 - 00:38:56 | Speaker 1:

Mojo texted me and he goes, is this what happens? Like, is this a normal girls weekend?

00:38:56 - 00:39:19 | Speaker 2:

I'm like, yes. Well, I saw the wheelbarrow races. And I honestly, at first, it's funny because I was going through stories. And I'm just like bored sitting on the couch going through stories. And I'm going, oh, Shannon, look at this. Shannon's having a girls weekend. And the next thing I know, I see wheelbarrow races. And I'm going. And then the airplane one, for those who don't know, you lay on your back. You put your legs up. And then, you know how your kids want you to do that? Yeah, someone else.

00:39:19 - 00:39:20 | Speaker 1:

It lifts you into the air.

00:39:21 - 00:39:31 | Speaker 2:

If you guys are doing this, because you did, you answered back right away and said, we're snowed in. I'm thinking, if one of you guys injures yourself. Right. Where are you going? Where are you going to go? You got to be careful.

00:39:31 - 00:39:37 | Speaker 1:

Which my friend Carrie did. She fell, and so she has a bloody and bruised chin this morning. Thank God she didn't need stitches.

00:39:37 - 00:39:43 | Speaker 2:

So, guys, the guys who go on deer hunting trips. Okay, so husbands do like these deer hunting vacations.

00:39:43 - 00:39:43 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:39:44 - 00:39:52 | Speaker 2:

You always hear these stories about how they go, you know, and they hang out in deer blinds. And by day and then by night, they're hanging out at strip clubs. You know what I mean?

00:39:52 - 00:39:56 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. This is like the opposite end of the spectrum. This is like, yeah.

00:39:56 - 00:39:56 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

00:39:56 - 00:39:58 | Speaker 1:

It really is. We're a bunch of nerds.

00:39:58 - 00:40:20 | Speaker 2:

Well, it's funny because I. I always hear the guys get worried that when their wives go away on these Nashville trips or these Vegas trips, then guys, make your girls go to West Michigan or up Northern Michigan to a cabin during a snowstorm. That would be a good one.

00:40:20 - 00:40:34 | Speaker 5:

It's one of those things like nobody would believe us if there wasn't evidence. What did you guys do all weekend? Oh, we did wheelbarrow races. It just sounds like we're covering up for something really, really bad, but that's what we did.

00:40:34 - 00:40:46 | Speaker 2:

Mike, Allie's allowed to go on any girls weekend that does that, right? You'd be fine with that. Yeah, I encourage that. No going to Nashville and hanging out at the bars with all those country guys. Well, they do wheelbarrow races there, too, but it's a little bit different.

00:40:48 - 00:41:09 | Speaker 5:

We were so tired, too. I mean, talk about how lean we are. Again, we all are full-time working moms, And so, like, by 7.30, someone was like, what time is it? And we've been drinking all day. I'm like, it's 7.30. We were all ready to go to bed. Like, we were so tired. Wow. Yeah. That's the reality of the situation.

00:41:10 - 00:41:34 | Speaker 2:

I don't buy it. Chelsea's gone. She's gone for work purposes to Vegas. And she'll say, yes, I went to bed last night at such an early hour. And I'm going, there ain't no way. I've been to Vegas so many times. I don't care how tired I am from the time change. I am never going. I don't think I've ever been in a bed in Vegas earlier than 2 a.m. local time. Yeah. Vegas time. Not our time, but local time.

00:41:34 - 00:41:37 | Speaker 4:

You just get energy from I don't know where. They pump it in from the airport.

00:41:37 - 00:41:42 | Speaker 2:

But women are different, though. Women are amazing. You guys are much more.

00:41:43 - 00:41:44 | Speaker 5:

Responsible. Responsible.

00:41:46 - 00:41:48 | Speaker 2:

Than the rest of us, guys. Girls are tired. We go to bed.

00:41:49 - 00:41:53 | Speaker 4:

Don't say responsible. They don't have to be responsible in a cabin in the middle of the woods in the snow. They're just tired.

00:41:53 - 00:42:08 | Speaker 2:

We know that our kids aren't with us, our girlfriends or wives aren't with us, and we want to go out and hang out and drink and have fun and lose money and do all kinds of crazy stuff. So this is interesting. What an interesting trip you went on. What's going on, Cassandra?

00:42:09 - 00:42:10 | Speaker 1:

Hi.

00:42:10 - 00:42:12 | Speaker 2:

Hey, what's going on? Is this what your girls' weekends look like?

00:42:14 - 00:42:19 | Speaker 1:

No, mine are much more relaxed. Much more relaxed. No wheelbarrow races.

00:42:19 - 00:42:23 | Speaker 2:

That's too much physical activity

00:42:23 - 00:42:30 | Speaker 1:

Absolutely But I didn't know if you guys had ever heard of the term Deer Widows Weekend

00:42:30 - 00:42:33 | Speaker 4:

We used to throw big parties for the deer widows every year

00:42:33 - 00:42:43 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I made the mistake of going to Bronner's one year Horrible idea It was during COVID where they were limiting the amount of people So we stood outside in the snow for hours

00:42:43 - 00:42:50 | Speaker 2:

Oh man While your guys are probably warmer in their Deer blinds Steer blinds with all the outfits on, right?

00:42:51 - 00:42:52 | Speaker 1:

Yep, and their heaters.

00:42:54 - 00:43:03 | Speaker 2:

Do you believe that guys do these vacations like this? Do you believe that when guys do guys weekends, do you believe that they do anything like this?

00:43:03 - 00:43:06 | Speaker 1:

No, no, not at all. That's a girl's thing.

00:43:06 - 00:43:15 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think so, too. I believe that women are so much more responsible than us guys. Responsible or boring? That could be. Yeah.

00:43:16 - 00:43:23 | Speaker 5:

I'm sorry we don't all sit around and play cards while porn is on in the background, and the jacuzzi is heating up in the corner of the room, Spike.

00:43:24 - 00:43:25 | Speaker 2:

Talk about that.

00:43:25 - 00:43:27 | Speaker 5:

Will we explain that again? Okay, now, wait a sec, yeah.

00:43:27 - 00:43:35 | Speaker 2:

That's Tip-Up Town. When Spike would go to Tip-Up Town. Not at all what happened. They would get one room with the heart-shaped... You did have a jacuzzi in your room.

00:43:35 - 00:43:47 | Speaker 4:

One time, there was a heart-shaped jacuzzi because we rented the giant honeymoon suite to have a card game because it was the only room in the hotel big enough to have, like, 30 guys play cards in because it was, like, a three-room suite.

00:43:47 - 00:43:48 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:43:48 - 00:43:50 | Speaker 4:

No one got in the hot tub and jacuzzi.

00:43:51 - 00:43:53 | Speaker 3:

So if you win the card game, do you get the hot tub?

00:43:53 - 00:43:56 | Speaker 4:

You can all hate we weren't wheelbarrowing each other.

00:43:56 - 00:44:01 | Speaker 2:

But Shannon was right on one thing, though. You guys do have porn in the background for some reason.

00:44:02 - 00:44:15 | Speaker 4:

No, there was a guy. You guys twist every story I tell on the air. It's on record. There was one guy who wanted to play porn, and we all looked at him like, what? What are you talking about? And he wanted to put porn on, and we were like, what are you doing? What are you talking about?

00:44:15 - 00:44:16 | Speaker 3:

Like a song in the background?

00:44:16 - 00:44:22 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, we're like, yeah, that's the thing. It's like, here, give me the aux cord. No, it's not a playlist. I'm going to put corn in.

00:44:23 - 00:44:26 | Speaker 2:

Cassandra, that sounds like a guy's trip to me, doesn't it?

00:44:27 - 00:44:27 | Speaker 1:

Absolutely.

00:44:29 - 00:44:45 | Speaker 2:

Mojo in the Morning Show, Home of the Phone Scams, The War of the Roses, and The Dirty on the 30. Mike, what'd you do this weekend? I know that you guys were out and about. Boy, you look like you had a huge crowd at that trampoline park that just opened up.

00:44:45 - 00:45:01 | Speaker 3:

uh yeah there was a line when we got there at like 5 a.m because you got like free jumping for a year and then they all wanted to hang out and it was the grand opening and like the owner was there it was a great time it was an amazing amazing amazing time um the kids went around and had fun and played

00:45:00 - 00:45:04 | Speaker 2:

stuff like that i set up a birthday party which is awesome for this cool yeah shout them out what

00:45:04 - 00:45:10 | Speaker 3:

is the name again uh launch trampoline park that's cool and then you and ali were kind of busy all

00:45:10 - 00:45:52 | Speaker 2:

weekend long right yeah yeah so then that night i had i hosted a vip party at kirby house um so her and i just had like a little date night got some dinner before and then went and hosted that and then sunday i did the uh a a charity cookie eating contest um the crew from detroit cookie uh company He reached out to me. Lauren. So on this side of the state, I think it's different, like people that run it or whatever, but on this side of the state, it's like a brother and a sister and I think another brother, Lauren and Dan and AJ. And they reached out to me and they said, hey, do you want to be a part of this? It's for a great cause. The big give, they donate, you know, proceeds go to that. And they said, you just come out and you eat a cookie. You had me at cookie eating for charity. Yes. Yeah. And their cookies are phenomenal.

00:45:53 - 00:45:54 | Speaker 1:

They are insane.

00:45:54 - 00:46:35 | Speaker 2:

It's that big cookie cake. You know, the big round or heart-shaped cookie cake that they write stuff on? So that's what you have to eat. And I'm like, yeah, of course I could eat a whole one of those easily. What I don't realize is going into it is there's the frosting. And when I eat them, I can eat like a bunch of it, but I don't think I've ever eaten one fast. And you have to drink all the milk and you have to, you know, it's a whole thing. So I go into this thinking, there's no issue. I don't eat anything. I go into it. I'm like, all right, I'm just going to eat this thing. you guys i made it probably three quarters of the way and then let just had the frosting left and i was going to throw up right there like right on this everybody was like this because nobody had any idea like what it really what really goes into uh eating it's funny because

00:46:35 - 00:46:50 | Speaker 3:

i always see that at uh fourth of july time they do the hot dog eating contest thing in new york and i always see that thing going god that would be great to do but you don't realize how much it's disgusting to eat that much that fast right yeah and it was like firefighters

00:46:50 - 00:47:35 | Speaker 2:

and michigan state police and like people who are like in great shape and they couldn't do it either like it's really really hard and there's a process to it you have to dip it in the milk to soften up the stuff and then when you get towards the end all you can think of all you can feel and think about is all of that sugar all of that that cookie that's delicious like in small doses and you know great cookies but if you put it all into one spot at once really really fast it hits you and you hit a wall immediately. And so I'd finish it. I didn't win the thing, but I'd finish it and I'd say bye to everybody and I'd go to leave and we'd sit in the car and I'm like, Allie, I'm going to throw up. And we're on 28th Street. I have to go now find a bathroom. You were getting the bubble guts? Oh, yeah. It was just sitting there, Mojo. You know, if I'm being completely honest, I haven't pooped since then.

00:47:35 - 00:47:40 | Speaker 1:

Wait. Oh, you're blocked. You're constipated from the cookie thing?

00:47:40 - 00:47:41 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, I haven't.

00:47:42 - 00:47:47 | Speaker 1:

Dude, that is the worst feeling, though, When you feel like you need to throw up, but you can't, like you want to make yourself

00:47:47 - 00:48:48 | Speaker 2:

just to get out of your system because it's just so much. So that's what I tried to do. I went over, there's a Target right there. So I went over to that Target, but it's Christmas season. So Target is packed. Yeah. So I go to the Target bathroom. And so are you. Yes. So I go to the Target bathroom and I'm like, all right, I'm just going to wait for people to leave. So I sit down and I just sit there and now I'm getting back sweats. Like I'm getting like, where are you sitting? on the toilet oh you're on the toilet okay to the stall okay yeah i made it to the oh my gosh at that point who cares about strangers let it loose i couldn't i couldn't it's a small bathroom and and people are just coming in and then and then i think at one point they thought i was doing something weird like stealing or something because somebody like employees came in and kind of just sat there like i can hear the little uh walkie talkies going off checking on you yeah and so i was like all right i guess i gotta hold it in so i walked around target and my brain's racing because I got all this sugar going in my head, and I have no, like, oh, my God, I got to throw up, Alia, and I never did. I still have it. I'm just sitting there.

00:48:48 - 00:49:13 | Speaker 3:

Let her see. Cookie starts with C. That's like a lot of things that starts with C. Constipating starts with C. C is for cookie. That's good enough for Mike. C is for cookie. That's good enough for me. C is for constipated. Mike is constipated. I still would go there today

00:49:13 - 00:49:14 | Speaker 2:

And get another cookie too

00:49:14 - 00:49:42 | Speaker 3:

It's funny They do this hot wing eating contest Here in town I forget who it is One of the wing places does it And they asked me numerous times to do it And Chelsea will not let me do it Because she says The problem with me doing that thing is Anytime that I excessively eat Like Thanksgiving Which Thanksgiving is one of those days I get so sick Like my stomach is just really bad And I'm like, I can do this Come on, I can do this

00:49:42 - 00:49:59 | Speaker 2:

Can you imagine dying and they'd have to put cause of death Eating, race eating Yeah I laid on the couch all day yesterday And my daughter's actually sick She's got a cold And I'm like, oh, I'm so

00:50:00 - 00:50:01 | Speaker 4:

He's like, I don't want to hear it.

00:50:01 - 00:50:09 | Speaker 3:

I'm like, I'm so sick. Carly has some advice for you, Mike. What advice can you give Mike who had a cookie eating contest now constipate him?

00:50:10 - 00:50:18 | Speaker 5:

All right, Mike. When you can't poop for a few days, just take a shot of prune juice. It's going to taste like absolute spit, but it is going to work.

00:50:19 - 00:50:19 | Speaker 6:

Loosen it up.

00:50:19 - 00:50:23 | Speaker 3:

Prune juice clears you up. Man, that's bad.

00:50:23 - 00:50:25 | Speaker 5:

But only do a shot of prune juice.

00:50:26 - 00:50:26 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:50:26 - 00:50:27 | Speaker 5:

It's gross.

00:50:27 - 00:50:33 | Speaker 3:

You know what you need to? I just recently had a colonoscopy And they give you I forget what the medicine is

00:50:33 - 00:50:36 | Speaker 5:

That's just clear your entire body

00:50:36 - 00:50:42 | Speaker 3:

Mike might need that though Mike might need to go in there and just get rid of everything Every little bit of it

00:50:42 - 00:50:45 | Speaker 5:

After that much cookie I would expect so

00:50:45 - 00:50:53 | Speaker 4:

You know what I have today too I completely forgot and I'm not eating right now I have my wellness check today Oh my god You're going to have diabetes

00:50:53 - 00:50:57 | Speaker 6:

They're going to weigh you You're going to weigh 12 pounds more than last year

00:50:57 - 00:51:22 | Speaker 3:

They're going to do his blood sugar, and they're going to say, holy crap. Hold on a second. We're taking blood. There's frosting. You know how they squeeze the frosting out of those little things? It's going to come right out of your veins. Oh, my God. You know what the craziest is? Anytime I'll ever go by, what is it, Mrs. Fields or whatever, the cookie places that they have in the mall, all I've ever wanted to is just to have that place for like a day. After hearing Mike talk about this, I want to stay.

00:51:22 - 00:51:25 | Speaker 2:

You'll never eat it again, though. I never want a cookie. You do that. Yeah.

00:51:25 - 00:51:40 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I one time ate an entire package of Chips Ahoy cookies when I was a kid, and I got so sick, and my parents wouldn't stop me at all because they saw me doing it, and they wanted me to do it. It's the last time that I ever binge ate like that.

00:51:40 - 00:51:41 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that'll teach you the most in the hard way.

00:51:42 - 00:51:44 | Speaker 3:

I'll still eat one of those cookie cakes. Would you really?

00:51:44 - 00:51:46 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah, 100%. Not today.

00:51:47 - 00:51:55 | Speaker 3:

We should check in on the other people that were in the thing. They should provide you with a bathroom afterwards when you're doing that.

00:51:55 - 00:52:05 | Speaker 4:

Well, I think it was their first time. Yeah, there wasn't any buckets, but there was, I mean, there was, like, real men, like firemen and police state troopers that couldn't hold it, you know, that case.

00:52:05 - 00:52:07 | Speaker 3:

You are no Joey Chestnut.

00:52:07 - 00:52:07 | Speaker 4:

No.

00:52:08 - 00:52:20 | Speaker 3:

Or Kobayashi. Aren't those the guys that are the big ones? What's up, Zach? How you doing? Hey, how's it going, guys? Good. What's going on? Mike's feeling it this morning, buddy. Long time listener, first time caller. Thank you, buddy. We appreciate that. Nice to have you on.

00:52:21 - 00:52:27 | Speaker 1:

Pickle juice, Mike. Drink some pickle juice, man. Okay. That's it. No, I love pickle juice, so.

00:52:27 - 00:52:30 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that makes me puke. Wait, wait, you eat pickle juice just normally?

00:52:31 - 00:52:37 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. Oh, what kind of a. Yeah. I'm a weird guy, man. It's actually really good for you.

00:52:37 - 00:52:45 | Speaker 2:

Dr. Werner, our show gynecologist, said if you're feeling like hungover or dehydrated, to just chug a few sips of pickle juice straight from the jar.

00:52:46 - 00:52:48 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. We'll do the trick. You know what Gatorade works, too.

00:52:49 - 00:52:50 | Speaker 2:

Shelly, what's up?

00:52:51 - 00:53:03 | Speaker 1:

Hey. I was just going to suggest Speedway Cappuccino. I call it Crapuccino. But it's so good. It's like liquid drain oil.

00:53:06 - 00:53:24 | Speaker 6:

00:54:55 - 00:54:59 | Speaker 3:

All right, Shannon's going to have the Dirty on the 30 for us. We'll grab a winner for Jingle Ball tickets.

00:55:00 - 00:55:01 | Speaker 2:

What's going on, Shannon?

00:55:01 - 00:55:22 | Speaker 5:

Well, Taylor Swift was the big winner at the American Music Awards in L.A. yesterday, picking up trophies in all of the six categories. She was nominated Best Female Pop Artist, Best Country Album for Red, Taylor's Version, Best Female Country Artist. I mean, she picked those awards up before the broadcast even began. And then last night, she was named Artist of the Year, among other things.

00:55:22 - 00:55:47 | Speaker 4:

In the past few years, I have released more music than I did in the entire decade preceding that. And I really feel like that's down to the fact that you, the fans, made it clear that you wanted to hear lots of music that I would make. You encouraged me. And so I found that the more music I made and the more music I put out, the happier I was.

00:55:47 - 00:56:11 | Speaker 2:

I read that she has more American Music Awards than anybody else. Twice as many as the number two artist, who is Michael Jackson. She's got, how many did she have? Is it like 80 or something? Something like that. It's crazy. I don't know. Michael Jackson. Whatever. But it's double with the next. And she's got a lot of years left to be performing and putting out music. Oh, 40.

00:56:11 - 00:56:13 | Speaker 5:

A career total of 40 awards. I doubled it.

00:56:13 - 00:56:15 | Speaker 2:

Michael's got 20-something. Yeah.

00:56:15 - 00:56:42 | Speaker 5:

Also taking home trophies yesterday. Bad Bunny, Beyonce voted Best R&B Artist, Renaissance won for Best R&B Album. Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Morgan Wallen, Harry Styles, MGK, BTS, Dove Cameron named Best New Artist, and she took the opportunity to address and honor the victims of that horrific mass shooting that took place at that LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado over the weekend that resulted in five people dead.

00:56:42 - 00:56:51 | Speaker 3:

On the heels of the tragedy that happened at Club Q in Colorado Springs, I want to remind everyone how important queer visibility is and how important our community is.

00:56:51 - 00:57:26 | Speaker 5:

More on the AMAs in next hour's story, including why Chris Brown got booed real bad during the show. Real quick, Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynavor is dating Andrew Garfield. They just met recently. 12-year age difference there, by the way, but hit it off immediately. Things are already heavy with them. They're calling it the most uncomfortable World Cup opening ceremony ever. Morgan Freeman is getting slammed this morning after narrating the opening segment, The Calling, at Albayette Stadium in Qatar.

00:57:27 - 00:57:36 | Speaker 1:

How can so many countries, languages, and cultures come together if only one way is accepted?

00:57:36 - 00:59:19 | Speaker 5:

One fan tweeted, for a man who played Nelson Mandela, who knew better than anyone the impact and importance of isolation on a country and its success on the ground to change that nation's policy, it's so disappointing to see Morgan Freeman take the money and support an oppressive regime. Others labeled him a sellout. Now, if you're not familiar with the controversy that's happening there, Qatar and World Cup organizers have faced ongoing criticisms regarding the death of migrant workers in the creation of stadiums and the country's views on homosexuality. It's illegal there. I know David Beckham got slammed for being a tournament ambassador. He got paid $10 million for that. Rod Stewart turned down performing at the ceremony, as did Dua Lipa, who called on the country to fulfill all of the legal human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host the World Cup. But if you see Morgan Freeman's name trending this morning, it's not for a great reason. And lastly, while many Taylor Swift fans were left just heartbroken when general sales to her general ticket sales to her tour were canceled on Friday due to that historically unprecedented demand, as Ticketmaster kept saying. Single men who somehow scored tickets are using them now to score dates. For example, Ryan Hong is a 23-year-old Harvard undergrad who got a pair of tickets to Taylor's Boston show. Made a five-second TikTok asking who might want to go with him to the concert. Well, within hours, he went viral. His TikTok now has nearly a million views and 6,000 comments. and he said he's gotten hundreds of DMs on Instagram from girls wanting to go out with him. Some girls have even sent actual resumes.

00:59:20 - 00:59:25 | Speaker 2:

Wow. Genius is what we call that. Yeah, get a hold of tickets. You see, Taylor, you get a lot of friends.

00:59:25 - 00:59:26 | Speaker 5:

A lot of dates.

00:59:26 - 00:59:27 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:59:27 - 00:59:31 | Speaker 5:

For all of today's Dirty, check out the Dirty page. I'm going to TheModding.com.

00:59:32 - 00:59:50 | Speaker 2:

And I do not have Taylor Swift tickets. I don't want any friends. I'm tired of people asking me. Yeah, stop calling me. We have them on the air. We'll get them away on the air, but I personally don't have them. I've had everybody, their brother and their sister, all asking me for a pair of tickets to the show.

00:59:51 - 00:59:58 | Speaker 5:

Get the stories you'll talk about all day on Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30. And another phone scan in minutes.

00:59:58 - 01:00:09 | Speaker 2:

It's funny how everybody comes in. out of the woodwork whenever we have any kind of big concerts that are down. It's like, man, oh, man. Can I meet the Backstreet Boys? All right. Nice to talk to you, friend. Imagine if we

01:00:09 - 01:00:19 | Speaker 1:

called everybody at their jobs and asked for something for free, like, hey, we noticed the interest rates went up again, and since you're a broker, can you actually just give me a free loan?

01:00:20 - 01:00:51 | Speaker 2:

Like, no, it doesn't work that way. Well, I will tell you before I get called by Mike Porter over at Gordon Chevrolet, I do call him for deals all the time. He's going to call me up, and he's going to say, Wait a second, Mojo. You pull exactly what you say people are pulling with you. All right, Jennifer, are you there? Yes, I'm here. Jennifer, you got tickets. Jingle Ball, congratulations to you. Yay. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Congrats to you. You got a pair of tickets, and you don't even need to be friends with us. You just need to be the 95th caller, and you are. Who are you most excited to see?

01:00:53 - 01:00:56 | Speaker 1:

I don't know. I like the Jacks of the new singer.

01:00:57 - 01:01:16 | Speaker 2:

You know what? I kind of like to hear that. I like to hear that we're going to, yeah, it's got a good, there's a variety of artists, and Jax is one of those artists, that Victoria's Secret song is great, but that's one of those artists I can't wait to see what Jax is like on stage, you know what I mean? Yeah, my two-year-old daughter loves that when the song comes on, it's like her favorite.

01:01:16 - 01:02:02 | Speaker 1:

Speaking of new artists, I totally forgot to tell you guys, guess who called me on Friday? The real Nicky Yor. Stop it. Not the phone scam, your friend who got me. I made him Zoom chat. they were calling me i said i'm not taking the phone call i said if it's really you zoom me so he did he zoomed so i could see on video i was like oh it really is you so i'll have to uh pull some of that and get it on the air for you guys did he know what we were doing he heard he he was calling me because he heard the phone scan you did on me and he so he said can i get their number he goes i gotta call spike and see if he falls for it again so he actually had you could tell He heard it because he was even quoting Lines from the phone scan saying You want to hear my new song? It's called Tractor Boy 2 He had a good sense of humor about it

01:02:02 - 01:02:33 | Speaker 2:

That's awesome That song is by the way so good still I mean that Sunroof song is so good Alright Mojo in the morning show Phone number 844-MOJO-LIVE 844-665-6548 If you're listening to us on the iHeartRadio app Don't stop the stream If you've got a comment you want to make Text us at 95500 I do have to tell you though you may get a phone call from our producer who may say, hey, say that on the radio here. What's your Thanksgiving plans? Are you in town? Are you out of town?

01:02:34 - 01:04:02 | Speaker 1:

I'm in town and I'm having four Thanksgiving dinners, which is horrible for me because I have no self-control. I overeat at every single one of those things. When they put out 12 dishes, I just load the plate until you can't see plate. And yesterday was the first of them hosted by my brother and his daughter came in town from California. So we got to see her. I got to meet her boyfriend for the first time and see a lot of other family and friends. So it was the first of four Thanksgiving dinners. And as I was helping and setting the table, I met a nice little four-year-old relative who I'm going to ask what, I know once a year we do the topic of like, you know, kids say the darnsest things. What did the kids say at your house that just made you laugh but this is just downright brutally honest that this child said to me the little four-year-old was helping me set the table she looked at me and said you get the biggest fork because you're the fattest you know what i can't even be mad at you just saying what you're thinking four-year-old and now you think that would have shamed me to eating less at thanksgiving i think it had the opposite effect i drowned my sorrows and sweet potatoes you have any idea how heavy you was she was like because you know at thanksgiving you're using every fork spoon and knife in the house you got to use the the old set the new set the run the serving spoons you got to use everything when you have 30 people and you don't have 30 forks so she looked at me she's like you get the

01:04:02 - 01:04:13 | Speaker 2:

big fork because you're the fattest but you understand though that to them you know they they think because they're they're tiny that they think you're not fat i appreciate you making that

01:04:13 - 01:04:22 | Speaker 1:

effort to smooth over what she said typical fat guy yeah yeah and it was uh it was an eye-opening

01:04:22 - 01:04:59 | Speaker 2:

moment any way that you can uh uh tell this kid's parents to teach this kid a little semblance of of i'm gonna tell santa claus yeah it's being naughty you're not on the nice i do love kids perspective on life because they're so honest they say everything that megan thinks Like you know what I mean Kids are great And they just blurt it right out Actually matter of fact sometimes Megan actually does the same thing too I am a child You live the life of a child sometimes That is so funny This is why I'm scared of my little cousins Because they're brutal

01:05:00 - 01:05:12 | Speaker 3:

man kids kids are mean yeah it's great it's like they they have no filter kids and old people right mojo oh my god the senior citizens will do the same thing to you old people i well first off

01:05:12 - 01:06:36 | Speaker 2:

one of my favorites was and i won't say who the person is because i actually made nice with him but a very famous old person here in the detroit area did a fat thing to me oh yeah at costco that i'll never forget and was when he walked up to me at costco and i said hey how you doing you know it's mojo and kind of like to introduce myself or reintroduce because i didn't know if the old person knew who i was and he goes oh wow you have gotten fat and i'm thinking inside voice please you know let's not say that too loud but man when you become a certain age you say whatever you want to say and i love it i'm not at that age yet i'm getting i'm getting closer but i'm not at that age yet still got a ways to go chelsea has already told me numerous times she's like okay pull back here sir you know you can't say certain things but um but yeah these kids man kids and old people are unbelievable aren't they uh hold on let me see what texters are saying here at 95500 by the way if you would like to if you would like to uh call 844 mojo live or tax 95500 say uh oh look at this another one here i had a kid i had a kid at kroger do the same exact thing spike to me by saying look how big her butt is while standing in line i used to have to worry when the kids were

01:06:36 - 01:06:50 | Speaker 1:

oh my gosh i have to worry about smith so like if i see something that's like a little different about somebody i'm like you gotta cut him off at the pass i either or we got i gotta like turn them around or like loose is good enough now where i can just look at her and be like quiet

01:06:50 - 01:07:06 | Speaker 2:

quiet luke did one time to a guy that actually had a nub and he said what happened to his arm like it was one of the things when he was a little kid and i was like i don't know yeah but you know what's funny is that sometimes people actually will take it nicer like from a little kid than

01:07:06 - 01:07:12 | Speaker 1:

they will well because they they would rather explain than just have people stare at them in some cases.

01:07:12 - 01:07:15 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, exactly. Well, most of the time, little kid's intent, too, isn't bad.

01:07:15 - 01:07:19 | Speaker 3:

Oh, for sure. Yeah, kid wasn't trying to insult me.

01:07:20 - 01:07:21 | Speaker 2:

Mojo in the morning, hello.

01:07:22 - 01:07:25 | Speaker 5:

Hi, I just had a cute story about how kids say whatever they think.

01:07:25 - 01:07:32 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, kids, we're going to call this kids, instead of they say the darndest things, kids are a-holes. That's what it's called. What's going on?

01:07:32 - 01:07:33 | Speaker 5:

Kids say the darndest things.

01:07:33 - 01:07:33 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

01:07:33 - 01:07:44 | Speaker 5:

So I used to babysit this little girl, and this was in the early 2000s, and I still was quite into Jerry Springer. So she looked at me so serious. She was three. And am I allowed to say the B word?

01:07:45 - 01:07:46 | Speaker 2:

Yes, sure.

01:07:46 - 01:08:07 | Speaker 5:

She said, I want a cookie, bitch. And I had to go to the other room, burst out laughing, compose myself, then go back in there and say, Tessa, we do not say that. So then when her mom picked her up, I'm like, well, I cannot watch Sherry's finger around your daughter anymore. I want to watch her cooking. In case she has any requests tonight at dinnertime.

01:08:07 - 01:08:09 | Speaker 2:

That's great. What's up, Sam?

01:08:09 - 01:08:19 | Speaker 4:

hi hi um so i work in a leasing office and i had a resident um ask me if i was having another baby

01:08:19 - 01:08:27 | Speaker 2:

because i after having a baby oh man smith asks me that all the time by the way anytime i'm like

01:08:27 - 01:08:34 | Speaker 1:

blowed anytime is there a baby in your belly no there's not and there never will be nope nope nope Noop, noop.

01:08:35 - 01:08:36 | Speaker 2:

Maybe he's wishing for one.

01:08:36 - 01:08:40 | Speaker 1:

Oh, I know he's wishing for one, but he says it to me all the time.

01:08:41 - 01:08:42 | Speaker 2:

Starla, what's up?

01:08:43 - 01:08:55 | Speaker 7:

So when my daughter was like three and a half, I had just had my son maybe like four or five months before that, and we were eating dinner. And she said, Mom, I'm going to eat all of my dinner so I can grow up and be fat like you.

01:08:55 - 01:09:00 | Speaker 2:

Oh. And then, of course, you send them to their room without food.

01:09:02 - 01:09:03 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, I just laughed it off.

01:09:04 - 01:09:09 | Speaker 2:

but honestly were you thinking like okay i'm gonna like push him to the ground like when he's

01:09:09 - 01:09:15 | Speaker 7:

not looking or something i mean yeah i kind of wanted the tripper when good for you uh what's

01:09:15 - 01:09:37 | Speaker 6:

up kylie hi hi um i'm a teacher in oxford and i was taking attendance the other day and a little girl came up to me um and i was on the computer typing and she's like mrs ryband i just wanted to let you know you have black all under your eyes like you look you need to go check it in the mirror and fix it so i walked over to the mirror to fix it and i looked in the mirror and

01:09:37 - 01:09:46 | Speaker 2:

i looked totally normal sleepy oh well you're a hard-working teacher thank you for what you do

01:09:46 - 01:09:59 | Speaker 6:

oh thank you thank you have a good day take care hi grace hi so i run a daycare and um i'm always telling the kids to mind their own business and one morning the

01:10:00 - 01:10:04 | Speaker 4:

The three-year-old looked at the five-year-old and said, don't mind your own business, because she didn't like what she was saying.

01:10:05 - 01:10:07 | Speaker 2:

Oh, really? I like that.

01:10:08 - 01:10:13 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I can tell you things. These kids, they say the darndest things.

01:10:13 - 01:10:22 | Speaker 2:

Do the kids, can I ask you a question from a parent's perspective? Do they tell you their parents' secrets? Like, do they come in in the morning and tell you, oh, yeah.

01:10:22 - 01:10:35 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. One day I had, they were all dressing up in clothes, and I had a little boy, he was ahead of the train, and calling everybody mother-effers.

01:10:36 - 01:10:38 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, jeez. Side boy.

01:10:39 - 01:10:44 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I've been doing this 27 years, and it is crazy, this stuff that comes out of their mouths.

01:10:45 - 01:10:51 | Speaker 2:

For all those parents that drop their kids off at schools or daycares listening to the show, understand you have no secrets.

01:10:51 - 01:10:58 | Speaker 1:

No, whatever you tell them, they run and tell everybody. And I have their secrets.

01:10:58 - 01:11:04 | Speaker 2:

That's right. Exactly. Pam, are you there? Yep. Pam, what did a kid say to you?

01:11:05 - 01:11:12 | Speaker 3:

My daughter turned around and looked at me and she said, Mom, does my butt jiggle like yours when I walk? Oh!

01:11:15 - 01:11:16 | Speaker 2:

That made you feel good, right?

01:11:18 - 01:11:18 | Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah.

01:11:18 - 01:11:38 | Speaker 2:

01:12:23 - 01:12:27 | Speaker 6:

Okay, is this a return? Go ahead and come on in, just bring the receipt.

01:12:27 - 01:13:44 | Speaker 5:

Well, let me tell you what happened. My wife has one of those stupid air fryers, and she's running that and her Peloton bike, and she's got the TV blasting at top volume, and next thing you know, the power goes out at our house. so i go outside and i climb up on the pole darren and i say two wires and it looked like they were touching so what i did was i took my hedge clippers that i bought at your store so i clipped one of them with your hedge clippers which hedge clippers are you talking about sir well i got the cordless green machine with the 25 inch dual action cutting blade and a rapid charged battery and it was a big flash of light like an explosion oh huh i can't hear you i i didn't say anything you touched the electric wires well i didn't touch them no i used the hedge clippers that i bought at your store so i was like three feet away when i clipped them but there was a big explosion when i cut the wires so it pushed me backwards and i fell off the pole and I'm laying on the grass and it feels like I've broken my back in about four different places, but maybe that's just because I landed in our rock garden.

01:13:46 - 01:13:50 | Speaker 6:

Sir, have you called an ambulance or you've gotten medical attention?

01:13:50 - 01:13:52 | Speaker 5:

Huh? I can't hear you.

01:13:53 - 01:13:55 | Speaker 6:

Have you called an ambulance, sir?

01:13:56 - 01:14:19 | Speaker 5:

Well, no, I called you guys there. But anyway, now it looks like the whole neighborhood is dark. And if I tell you Wally is going to be so mad at me, He lives down on the corner, and he always watches Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. And if he doesn't have power, and he looks out the window and sees me holding these hedge clippers laying here with my hair on fire, he's going to come out and beat me two ways from Sunday.

01:14:20 - 01:14:22 | Speaker 6:

I would definitely advise you to call 911.

01:14:23 - 01:14:46 | Speaker 5:

Well, you're the one that sold me these hedge clippers. Can you come out and get the power fixed? Well, I think really. And also, if Wally sees you here when you're fixing, tell him that a bird or a squirrel was messing with the wire or something so he doesn't get mail at me. Oh, I smell gas.

01:14:47 - 01:14:50 | Speaker 6:

If you're smelling gas, you should leave the area immediately.

01:14:50 - 01:15:00 | Speaker 5:

No, no, it's just my own gas. So you can come help me get the power back on? Oh, that call did not go as long as I...

01:15:00 - 01:15:35 | Speaker 1:

If I could say anything I wanted to, I'd say that was funny right there. I don't care who you are. It's the home of the world famous phone scams. For Mojo, Mike Shannon for Mojo in the morning.

01:15:37 - 01:17:24 | Speaker 3:

Good morning. Welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. We have Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish kicking off a week from today. We are accepting your letters. Go to mojoswish.org. If you or someone you know needs help during the holidays or after the holidays, we want to help you out. Breaking and entering Christmas Wish has been part of our show for so many years. And I will go on record in saying that, you know, we do some fun things with phone scams and five lies, senseless surveys. And, of course, some very compelling, crazy things to listen to, like War of the Roses, Breakup or Makeup, Second Date Update. But there is no greater thing that we do on this radio show than giving back to the communities that have been so supportive of us in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Toledo. and that's why we love doing breaking entering christmas wish it is a 501c3 so it is a you know opportunity for some people to make a donation that can fully be tax deductible but in a lot of cases people are just like you know what i just want to help out a family so it doesn't even matter but um send us your letters go to mojoswish.org a special thank you goes to our friends over at the imagine theaters clean view auto wash love those guys and red robin which By the way, you guys, a week from Thursday, so a week from this Thanksgiving, we are going to be doing a break-and-entering Christmas wish night at the Red Robin in Southgate. It's just off of Eureka Road starting after you get done with work that evening or your kids get pulled out of getting done with all their basketball practices, wrestling and cheerleading, dance, whatever the stuff is.

01:17:24 - 01:17:25 | Speaker 1:

We've got dinner covered.

01:17:25 - 01:18:24 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, we got dinner covered. You come out there and they are going to be giving money to the Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish program based on your purchases. We will throw all of our tips into our Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish fund. And our goal is to see if we can raise like $30,000 if we can or close to it, whatever we can get for Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish. Red Robin's always been a great help to the families that get wishes granted every single year. So, again, that's a week from Thursday. And for those that can't make it to this location because you might live, you know, in another part of the Detroit, Grand Rapids, or Toledo areas, we're going to have something cool going on at your local Red Robin location. So talking to Brian about that, we're excited. All right, Mojo in the Morning Show. So found out something very, very interesting from my son, Lucas. I love the kid so much.

01:18:24 - 01:18:28 | Speaker 1:

He's in trouble if you said Lucas. I just know something's up already.

01:18:30 - 01:18:42 | Speaker 3:

Lucas has been, instead of eating in the school's cafeteria at his school, he has been ordering DoorDash to the school.

01:18:43 - 01:18:44 | Speaker 1:

You can do that?

01:18:44 - 01:19:14 | Speaker 3:

Well, I don't know necessarily if you can. He claims that you can. Okay. All right. That's pretty cool. He claims that not always it is during school hours. He just won't eat during school hours. He will have it delivered, and it will sometimes arrive after school hours, after 2.30 or whatever it is, when they get out. But he has been ordering Chipotle, lots of it, and I'll explain in a second, McDonald's, and even Chick-fil-A.

01:19:14 - 01:19:19 | Speaker 2:

Man, this kid's living the life. Right. But I ate horrible cafeteria pizza for high school lunch.

01:19:19 - 01:19:38 | Speaker 3:

I will go on record to say this, that Chipotle is definitely the one that's getting more of his ordering because I found out something interesting. Lucas, he's very, very proud of this, is just about 100 or 200 points away from 10,000 points on his Chipotle app.

01:19:38 - 01:19:39 | Speaker 1:

Whoa. That's impressive.

01:19:39 - 01:19:42 | Speaker 3:

Does he get applause for that? Is that right?

01:19:42 - 01:19:43 | Speaker 1:

What do you redeem these points for?

01:19:43 - 01:19:58 | Speaker 3:

Well, wait until I tell you, Shannon. I'm glad you asked on this one here. Luke is less than 100 points away from achieving a milestone of 109 tortillas or 28 bags of chips.

01:19:58 - 01:20:02 | Speaker 1:

What do you mean 109 tortillas? Just the tortillas they wrap their burritos in?

01:20:03 - 01:20:10 | Speaker 2:

Yes, they have tortillas that they'll give you. He does not know how they're going to deliver it to him. That's the part of the fun that he's having.

01:20:10 - 01:20:11 | Speaker 1:

What do you do with that?

01:20:11 - 01:20:13 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. He's excited about it. That's what you get?

01:20:14 - 01:20:17 | Speaker 1:

Chipotle, step it up. That is lame.

01:20:17 - 01:20:20 | Speaker 2:

No, that's what he wants. That's what he wants.

01:20:20 - 01:20:25 | Speaker 1:

Oh, so can't you get free food or something? Oh, yeah. Like actual food, not just tortillas?

01:20:25 - 01:20:39 | Speaker 2:

I think so. I think he gets discounts and all that stuff. I don't know. He's actually, believe it or not, off today. because they have the holiday week off. But he was up last night until the wee hours swearing at his friends over, what were you playing, Call of Duty last night, Luke?

01:20:41 - 01:20:42 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

01:20:43 - 01:20:43 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

01:20:43 - 01:20:44 | Speaker 1:

Hi, Luke.

01:20:44 - 01:21:01 | Speaker 2:

Luke, I'm telling these guys, Lucas, about your Chipotle 10,000 points. Distinguished Service Award. What is, so it's 109 tortillas or 28 bags of chips. Can you get anything else?

01:21:01 - 01:21:05 | Speaker 4:

What is it? I could get like 109 tortillas, yeah.

01:21:05 - 01:21:08 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Why would you want 109 tortillas?

01:21:10 - 01:21:13 | Speaker 4:

Just because. I don't know. It's like a celebration.

01:21:13 - 01:21:16 | Speaker 1:

What are you going to do with them?

01:21:18 - 01:21:20 | Speaker 4:

I don't even know. Just keep them. Put them in my room.

01:21:20 - 01:21:21 | Speaker 1:

Oh, for you, Mom.

01:21:21 - 01:21:22 | Speaker 4:

Keep them in your room.

01:21:23 - 01:21:25 | Speaker 1:

Can't you get something better than that?

01:21:25 - 01:21:30 | Speaker 2:

Can you not get like a discount or something, and, like, get a free burrito or something?

01:21:31 - 01:21:37 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I probably could, but I don't. That's what you want. You want some more unusual choice. This is why I love Luke.

01:21:37 - 01:22:01 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Luke, I was also mentioning about your door dashing to school. There's, like, why can you not eat in the cafeteria? It's a wonderful cafeteria. Your brothers ate in that cafeteria. Because their food is terrible. Luke, I've met the cafeteria ladies. They work very diligently to provide you with nutritious food.

01:22:02 - 01:22:12 | Speaker 4:

It's just not good. I have photos of literally the food being raw. Come on. You're so full of it. You're a liar. I will send you the math. No, no.

01:22:12 - 01:22:16 | Speaker 2:

Well, here, let me just say this to you before you get yourself in any trouble by doing this.

01:22:16 - 01:22:17 | Speaker 3:

Pointing out the fact.

01:22:17 - 01:22:47 | Speaker 2:

Let me just say, they cook the food. You probably took pictures before they cooked it. and and i want you to know this luke that you're getting cut off we gave we gave luke a uh we put him on our our credit card our visa card oh yeah so that he has the ability to like in case of an emergency or purchase gas or whatever it might be you are completely misusing that credit card and what it was intended for.

01:22:49 - 01:22:51 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. Having lunch is an emergency.

01:22:52 - 01:22:59 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, no, yeah, I'm hungry. You guys don't update my, I get in debt on my student card, though.

01:22:59 - 01:23:23 | Speaker 2:

Oh, so if I add more money to your cafeteria food card, you will stop doing this? No. Do you understand, by the way, that that credit card is your mom and mine, And that means at least 108 of those tortillas are mine. Do you understand that?

01:23:24 - 01:23:29 | Speaker 4:

You can have all of them. I just want to get them. Can we talk about something really quickly?

01:23:30 - 01:23:47 | Speaker 1:

So I'm seeing a trend here with your children. I think you need to have a conversation with them about how to properly spend the points they accrue. because if I remember last week, we talked to Joe about his credit card points that he bought a lightsaber with, okay?

01:23:47 - 01:23:50 | Speaker 2:

I got chastised. I got chastised by our listeners about that.

01:23:50 - 01:23:57 | Speaker 1:

Now Luke is buying 109 tortillas with his award. Yes. Like, you need to talk. You need to have a family meeting.

01:23:58 - 01:24:00 | Speaker 2:

We're going to have that, by the way, over the holiday.

01:24:00 - 01:24:02 | Speaker 1:

Because you can get some really good stuff with his points.

01:24:02 - 01:24:10 | Speaker 3:

And just imagine, like, this is why these companies do the point system because so many goofballs waste their points and don't actually use them for good stuff.

01:24:10 - 01:24:13 | Speaker 2:

Luke, is it a waste to get 109 tortillas?

01:24:13 - 01:24:15 | Speaker 4:

No, I think it would be a good laugh.

01:24:16 - 01:24:30 | Speaker 2:

It would be a good laugh. All right, well, I know you're off today, so go back and sleep. And just so you know, you're going to have cafeteria food today for lunch. I'm going to go to the school and see if they have the cafeteria open. All right. All right, I love you.

01:24:30 - 01:24:33 | Speaker 4:

You keep knocking the cafeteria food, but the pizza was good.

01:24:33 - 01:24:42 | Speaker 2:

I loved it. The square pizza, yeah, it was delicious. And Bosco sticks. Yes. They always had good stuff. Mark, what's happening? It's Mojo in the morning.

01:24:43 - 01:24:46 | Speaker 1:

Hey. I was wondering who the freak is paying for all his food.

01:24:47 - 01:24:59 | Speaker 2:

Who do you think? Daddy Warbucks here, buddy. Daddy Warbucks. Daddy Warbucks. That's what I always think. Yes, right? Thank you. Thank you. That's why. Why do you think I wake up at 3.30 in the morning so I can pay for my kids?

01:25:00 - 01:25:01 | Speaker 9:

109 tortillas.

01:25:01 - 01:25:02 | Speaker 5:

Well, at least now you know.

01:25:03 - 01:25:07 | Speaker 9:

Thank you. What's up, Afton? What's happening?

01:25:08 - 01:25:08 | Unknown:

Hi.

01:25:09 - 01:25:09 | Speaker 9:

Hi.

01:25:10 - 01:25:23 | Speaker 5:

I was texting in because I used to be a Grabhub driver, and a majority of my business was kids at college campuses constantly ordering Chipotle, McDonald's, whatever it was. I was always on college campuses.

01:25:23 - 01:25:27 | Speaker 9:

This is a high school. This is high school. This isn't even college. Yeah.

01:25:27 - 01:25:31 | Speaker 5:

No, the only – No, anytime I ever delivered to high school as a teacher, it was never a student.

01:25:31 - 01:25:40 | Speaker 9:

Yeah, it's funny. I wonder if the high schools have this happen a lot, if a lot of the kids will order Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber Eats to the school. What's up, Angie?

01:25:42 - 01:25:43 | Speaker 4:

Hey, how are you guys?

01:25:43 - 01:25:44 | Speaker 9:

Good morning. Fantastic. What's going on?

01:25:45 - 01:26:07 | Speaker 4:

I'm just calling to agree with your son. I'm just saying prior to COVID, the high school cafeterias were awesome. When we toured, I couldn't believe the options these kids had. After COVID, it totally tanked. Those kids had garbage. And then if you had the first lunch, you were able to get stuck right away. If you had late lunches, whatever was left was left. You had no food.

01:26:07 - 01:26:14 | Speaker 2:

Even if the pizza is good at the cafeteria, nothing compares to a carnitas burrito bowl at Chipotle. Yes. That is true.

01:26:14 - 01:26:16 | Speaker 9:

Is that the new one with the garlic steak?

01:26:16 - 01:26:38 | Speaker 2:

Oh, so good. So I've become my daughter's DoorDash driver. She will be at work all day, and she'll just text me, Dad, can you bring me? can you stop at the Thai place on the corner at Orchard Lake and bring me a sandwich at work I can't leave work and I'm like what I'm like in my pajamas on the couch

01:26:38 - 01:26:39 | Speaker 9:

do you charge her? I should

01:26:39 - 01:26:45 | Speaker 2:

I should, no I'm paying for the food and then driving 20 minutes each way out of my way

01:26:45 - 01:27:10 | Speaker 9:

you know what's amazing though and I don't know if this happens too with your daughters if I don't do it, if I don't get, he won't eat Like to me, I would find anything that I could eat He will not eat Like we have food in the house And he will choose not to eat And then I'll find out I'm like, hey, what'd you eat all day? He's like, nothing, because you wouldn't get me food And I'm like, oh, wait a second These kids are unbelievable They'll starve themselves They're on like a

01:27:10 - 01:27:12 | Speaker 1:

Cereal, my mom would always be like, there's cereal

01:27:12 - 01:27:14 | Speaker 9:

Yeah, I always find something to eat

01:27:14 - 01:27:23 | Speaker 2:

And then I said no, and guess what she did Saturday, my daughter texted my girlfriend Hey, are you guys out shopping? Do you think you could make me?

01:27:23 - 01:27:25 | Speaker 9:

Yeah, because she's not going to say no.

01:27:25 - 01:27:27 | Speaker 1:

Of course she's going to do it. And she's great cooking.

01:27:27 - 01:27:28 | Speaker 9:

What's going on, Pat?

01:27:29 - 01:27:37 | Speaker 3:

Hey, so I completely agree with the lunch thing, but is it me, or does it sound like Luke has a grown man hiding in his throat?

01:27:38 - 01:27:52 | Speaker 9:

It's amazing, isn't it? He does. He's got a very deep voice. Yeah. Remember that little boy that used to say that? Guess what dropped? I know. Thank you for the call. Take care of yourself. What's up, Dakota?

01:27:54 - 01:28:07 | Speaker 6:

So at my high school, we weren't allowed to DoorDash or Grubhub or anything. We would get in trouble if we did that. Yeah. So we either had school lunch or bring a lunch. If you didn't have any lunch, well, you weren't eating until you got home then.

01:28:07 - 01:28:08 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. Yeah.

01:28:08 - 01:28:20 | Speaker 2:

I mean, we don't want all these strangers in our school, right? Especially if they have that good smelling food through the hall and we don't get to share it. One kid gets it and we just all have to smell it.

01:28:20 - 01:28:30 | Speaker 9:

Remember the kid that used to bring in leftover pizza from the day before, like leftover Jets? And you'd be like, that little bastard had Jets last night? That's what this is like, but it's actually not leftovers. What's up, Jessica?

01:28:31 - 01:28:32 | Speaker 7:

Hey. Hey.

01:28:32 - 01:28:33 | Speaker 9:

What's going on?

01:28:34 - 01:28:37 | Speaker 7:

Oh, not much. I was just calling to say that my son DoorDash is every single day as well.

01:28:38 - 01:28:40 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. What does that cost you?

01:28:41 - 01:28:46 | Speaker 7:

Well, thankfully, he has a job, so he paid for it. Oh, okay. That's fair then. Yeah.

01:28:46 - 01:28:54 | Speaker 9:

You know what's funny? I showed Luke So my son Luke's 17 I showed him Fast Times at Richmond High

01:28:54 - 01:28:55 | Speaker 2:

Yeah

01:28:55 - 01:28:57 | Speaker 9:

And the scene when Sean Penn

01:28:57 - 01:28:59 | Speaker 2:

Delivers the pizza to his classroom

01:28:59 - 01:29:10 | Speaker 9:

And Luke So now Luke does the whole If it's you here and me here Isn't this our time He does that whole thing You've never seen that movie It's such a good movie

01:29:10 - 01:29:44 | Speaker 1:

I have to tell you something though Be thankful that Luke's just door dashing Because my kids and Mike I feel like this is you My kids are at the age where they watch these moms on YouTube make these lunches that are so intricate and over the top and probably take an hour and they cut out all the little vegetables and stars and they use a cookie cutter for the sandwich and they do like a theme. Today's a rainbow themed lunch. And Lucy's like, mom, how come my lunch isn't like that? Like I almost wish I could just say, just door dash your lunch at this point. Okay.

01:29:44 - 01:29:50 | Speaker 4:

although i'm all right i'm gonna want a reindeer pretzels yeah no they do themes the family

01:29:50 - 01:29:59 | Speaker 6:

watch those bento box videos why they are so satisfying i'm calling mom out over here because

01:29:59 - 01:30:00 | Speaker 9:

I've seen

01:30:00 - 01:30:03 | Speaker 6:

You've seen mom post charcuterie boards for your kids and things like that.

01:30:03 - 01:30:11 | Speaker 1:

No, I put a bunch of snacks from bags in a muffin tin. I'm calling BS. Little different than a reindeer-themed bento box for lunch.

01:30:11 - 01:30:11 | Speaker 6:

I'm calling you.

01:30:11 - 01:30:14 | Speaker 1:

Takes about 30 seconds versus two hours.

01:30:14 - 01:30:16 | Speaker 6:

You just throw them a bag of carrots and say, here.

01:30:17 - 01:30:18 | Speaker 1:

That's what I do.

01:30:18 - 01:30:31 | Speaker 6:

Enjoy. All right, it is Emojo in the morning show. Megan, very upset. Last year was her year. She did a great job. You hosted everybody, right, for Thanksgiving?

01:30:31 - 01:30:34 | Speaker 4:

Yes, I did all of the work. I literally did it all.

01:30:34 - 01:30:38 | Speaker 6:

You thought, okay, I got that one out of the way. What's happening this year? But what's going on?

01:30:39 - 01:30:57 | Speaker 4:

So in case you didn't know, Thanksgiving this year is just going to be my dad, my brother, and I. And last year, to be fair, I was a little too zooted, so it did take me longer than it should have. But I did cook for like seven hours. It should have probably taken five. But I didn't want to cut a finger off.

01:30:58 - 01:31:04 | Speaker 5:

So I was taking my time. How do you get high and then keep track of when you're cooking nine different courses?

01:31:04 - 01:32:07 | Speaker 4:

It was very stressful. There were a lot of curse words, and nobody was allowed in the kitchen. So I had all of that going on, and I, not to brag, but I killed it last year. Like, I really did an amazing job. I went above and beyond, and it was, chef's kiss good. Like I said, I cooked for, like, seven hours. We ate for about 15 minutes, and then I had to clean everything up. Right. It sucked. I hated it. I didn't want to do it again. But in my mind, I was like, boom, I don't have to do this again for another three years. Because next year, it's not going to be my turn. And then we're going to force whoever's left to do it. So three years, I can do this once every three years. So my dad, my brother, and I are talking. And we're like, what's the plan for Thanksgiving? What's going on? Silence. Everybody's waiting for me to volunteer my services. And guess what? It's not happening. Nobody was grateful last year. We had one photo that my dad didn't even put up on, like, send to the group chat with his family members. Nobody bragged. It went up on Instagram. Nobody cared because everybody posted their turkeys.

01:32:07 - 01:32:11 | Speaker 6:

If you cook a meal and nobody posted on social media, you didn't cook a meal.

01:32:11 - 01:32:39 | Speaker 4:

Exactly. That's so true. Exactly. Nobody cared. So I was not volunteering my services. And I'm also not going to lie. I'm a little upset that this is the first year that I'm not going to have a major holiday in my childhood home. So I'm a little upset. I don't want to do it. And now it's gotten to the point where we're out of time. None of us have gone grocery shopping. And I'm pretty sure we're doing Chinese takeout for Thanksgiving this year.

01:32:40 - 01:32:47 | Speaker 6:

Because nobody in the family will step up. Now, where would you want it to be? Because your brother lives with you. You want him just to cook at your house?

01:32:47 - 01:32:48 | Speaker 3:

No, I don't want it at my house.

01:32:48 - 01:32:51 | Speaker 6:

So basically, you want your dad to do it.

01:32:51 - 01:32:51 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:32:53 - 01:32:56 | Speaker 6:

And that beautiful new bachelor apartment that he's got.

01:32:56 - 01:32:57 | Speaker 4:

I know.

01:32:57 - 01:32:59 | Speaker 6:

Overlooking this beautiful city and everything.

01:32:59 - 01:33:06 | Speaker 4:

But are you allowed there? We watch, okay, approved. Yes. You said that you might not be allowed there.

01:33:06 - 01:33:06 | Unknown:

Yeah.

01:33:06 - 01:33:07 | Speaker 1:

She's not allowed to have a key.

01:33:07 - 01:33:08 | Speaker 5:

Fair question.

01:33:08 - 01:33:11 | Speaker 4:

I'm not allowed to have a key, but I am invited when he's home. Yeah. Okay.

01:33:11 - 01:33:13 | Speaker 5:

She can't be unsupervised.

01:33:13 - 01:33:35 | Speaker 4:

But I just don't understand why, at this point, my dad was like, Well, I think I'll make like a casserole, but it's got a lot of cheese in it, and I know you can't eat cheese. That was what my father suggested this year. I wanted to try making like a lasagna, but I don't think you like eating cheese, so I don't know what you would do. That is what my father said to me. Rude. So rude.

01:33:35 - 01:33:38 | Speaker 5:

Well, rude is your dad voice when you tell us what he said.

01:33:38 - 01:33:43 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. Your dad sounds nothing like that. I've heard him numerous times. He has a quite beautiful voice.

01:33:43 - 01:33:47 | Speaker 3:

What are you talking about? This is my dad. It's a mix of Cher and, like, a rich lady.

01:33:49 - 01:33:52 | Speaker 6:

Come on, let me hear you say, if I can turn back time.

01:33:53 - 01:33:57 | Speaker 3:

If I could turn back time.

01:33:58 - 01:33:58 | Speaker 6:

Rebecca?

01:33:59 - 01:34:00 | Speaker 3:

I wouldn't have my kids.

01:34:04 - 01:34:06 | Speaker 6:

Rebecca, you can relate to Megan, huh?

01:34:07 - 01:34:35 | Speaker 2:

Hi, so I relate big time to Megan. About two years ago, I did a huge Friendsgiving where I spent all day cooking. I cooked ham, church, like everything possible. And people raved saying it was better than their mom. But then it's like Megan said, after you eat for 15 minutes, then it's nothing. You don't hear about it again. You don't get a picture. You don't get anything. And yeah, the compliments are nice, but like after those 15 minutes.

01:34:35 - 01:34:59 | Speaker 6:

yeah that's that i i think when you're saying this i realize man i got to do something for my wife afterwards because she busts her ass doing all the stuff on thanksgiving we all eat and then it's like okay we do the dishes but we gotta we should do something maybe what we need to do is for like megan to do it again or for my wife or anybody else that's cooking we need to have like a crown and a, in a cape and.

01:35:00 - 01:35:21 | Speaker 1:

throne and everything like you know what i mean while you're cooking it no no afterwards for afterwards or you know we need to do something for you if i'm zooted with a cape on that's getting stuck in the oven door for sure maybe that's it maybe we'll have a special uh thing to get you zooted you get zooted before cooking which is very interesting that you even got

01:35:21 - 01:35:46 | Speaker 3:

anything accomplished it's really daring what's up amy hi good morning good morning so i was just at Costco yesterday and they had like a turkey breast and mashed potatoes and mac and cheese and it was ready to just take and basically bake if she wanted to do that. Yes. Oh, wow. Costco, Boston Market still does that. Whole Foods, you can still pick up meals. Yeah, like I was like, oh my God, if I wasn't cooking, this is what I would do. Yeah. But Megan

01:35:46 - 01:35:49 | Speaker 1:

did homemade last year. She did it

01:35:49 - 01:35:53 | Speaker 3:

all on her show. Let me tell you something. Those all taste good. Chinese takeout

01:35:53 - 01:35:59 | Speaker 1:

though is good on Thanksgiving. Yeah, especially on Thanksgiving. Yeah, it is so good. What's up, Haley?

01:36:01 - 01:36:38 | Speaker 5:

Hi. My grandparents' house is where we usually do dinner, and this year they're calling the cops on each other every 20 minutes, and so we're not doing Thanksgiving with them. Wait, wait, wait, wait. What's going on? We usually do like a Polish Thanksgiving at my grandparents' house, and this year they keep calling the cops on each other, so we're not doing a big dinner this year. Wait, wait, why? What's the story behind that? My grandma is living with her dad because she can't afford, like, a house at the moment. Okay. And they just keep fighting back and forth about living in the house or not.

01:36:38 - 01:36:41 | Speaker 1:

Oh, jeez. So grandma and grandpa aren't together, huh?

01:36:42 - 01:36:42 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

01:36:43 - 01:36:50 | Speaker 1:

Oh, God. That's great. But you know what, though? I'd like to come to that Thanksgiving. A hundred percent, right? I want to be there just to see what's going on.

01:36:50 - 01:36:51 | Speaker 5:

There's always something.

01:36:52 - 01:37:02 | Speaker 1:

Cops who have to work on holidays, I feel so bad for them because they got to go on these domestic calls where people are like throwing turkeys. Has anybody in your family ever thrown a turkey at each other?

01:37:04 - 01:37:10 | Speaker 3:

No. That's a great topic. What was thrown at your Thanksgiving table? Oh, my God. Save that. Come on. We're doing it tomorrow.

01:37:11 - 01:37:16 | Speaker 1:

All right. Save that. Yeah, that's a good one. Hold on. Write that down. Write that down there. All right. Mojo in the morning show.

01:37:17 - 01:37:20 | Speaker 4:

It's the second date update on Mojo in the morning.

01:37:20 - 01:37:49 | Speaker 1:

All right. Why are you not getting a call back after you went out on a date? Samantha's trying to figure that out. Sam, hi. Good morning. Good morning. How are you? Doing okay. So, Sam, you guys have gone on a couple of dates together, actually numerous dates together, and all of a sudden now not getting a call back, and you guys talk a lot. This is weird. Our producer told us that you guys talk pretty much like multiple times a day, every single day, and then all of a sudden, when did it stop?

01:37:50 - 01:38:12 | Speaker 4:

Well, I text him about this week because I was telling him that, you know, well, he stopped texting me like two days ago because I text him that I was having, you know, my family's having Thanksgiving this week. And I was like, if you want, we can work around our schedules and figure out your family Thanksgiving, too. And then I didn't hear anything after that.

01:38:12 - 01:38:18 | Speaker 1:

This is not a, okay, went on one date and done. How many dates have you guys been on with each other?

01:38:19 - 01:38:42 | Speaker 4:

Well, technically, we've only been on two dates, but we've been talking for weeks. We talk multiple times a day. Like, it's been nonstop. So, and then it just kind of felt like an abrupt halt, you know? And it just feels really weird. It's just not how we've been communicating. Yeah. So, it's just, I mean, I don't know. I just feel like something weird is happening. You know what I mean?

01:38:42 - 01:38:47 | Speaker 1:

We're going to find out what's going on. Erin is on with us. Erin, are you okay with your voice on the radio?

01:38:48 - 01:38:48 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

01:38:49 - 01:38:53 | Speaker 1:

So, Aaron, say hi to Sam. Hi, Sam.

01:38:54 - 01:38:55 | Speaker 4:

Hey.

01:38:55 - 01:39:02 | Speaker 1:

Are you just busy, and that's why you haven't been real responsive the last couple of days?

01:39:05 - 01:39:09 | Speaker 2:

You mean, like, why?

01:39:10 - 01:39:11 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, why you're ghosting her texts.

01:39:13 - 01:39:40 | Speaker 2:

Oh. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She, she, she had texted about Thanksgiving. Okay. And how, like, yeah, and it was, I mean, she was just asking about, you know, just getting together at a holiday. And I was like, girl, we've only been, we've been only on a couple of dates. I don't do that.

01:39:40 - 01:39:41 | Speaker 1:

Wait, so.

01:39:41 - 01:39:42 | Speaker 2:

Oh, really?

01:39:42 - 01:39:45 | Speaker 1:

So what exactly was the text that you sent, Samantha?

01:39:47 - 01:39:57 | Speaker 4:

I just said, hey, you know, my family's having Thanksgiving, and if you want, we can work around scheduling, you know, his family and my family's Thanksgiving, too, so that we could go to both.

01:39:57 - 01:40:14 | Speaker 1:

And Aaron, you guys, you say you're willing. only been on on two dates with each other she did admit that to us did you guys fool around at all uh samantha yeah i mean i yeah samantha did you guys did you guys uh fool around on these dates

01:40:14 - 01:40:25 | Speaker 5:

i mean yeah we slept together twice so i thought that this was like a thing you know and we talk all the time so i didn't think that this i i thought it would just be a logical thing that

01:40:25 - 01:40:48 | Speaker 4:

we would do thanksgiving together you hear that text though she's like uh we can work around your family too if you aren't with the assumption this is what i can't stand it's like the assumption that we're gonna do thanksgiving and oh my family can get in there too like i what are you talking about i'll send you a text we can keep talking don't take the holiday to try to move in and get

01:40:48 - 01:41:16 | Speaker 3:

something crazy going this is just too much so i mean wow i understand that what she's asking is a lot very very soon you're kind of treating her like a jerk um you could have just said we're not like you could have just politely said no i'm not interested in doing that but i'm still interested in seeing you i was on your side until you just talked in there yeah until a girl comes

01:41:16 - 01:41:31 | Speaker 4:

in there, and she's like, oh, we can, without any warning, without any, and she just assumes Thanksgiving's happening. No, no, no. Right. That's a lot. I understand that. I know that time. I understand that. Yeah, it's not only just a lot, it's a sign. It's a sign that the thing that's happening inside the girl's head is not going to work out in the long run.

01:41:32 - 01:41:54 | Speaker 1:

Like, whoa. Man, you really took that to extremes. Wow. Okay, so just a quick question to the listeners on this one here. Is Samantha in the wrong for assuming that they were going to spend holidays together, or is Aaron in the wrong for being a little harsh there? Although, listen, I'm looking up at the—

01:41:54 - 01:41:57 | Speaker 3:

I understand where he's coming from. He could have just said it in a nicer way.

01:41:58 - 01:42:02 | Speaker 1:

Our texts are saying some scary things about Samantha, though. What's up, Bailey? Hi.

01:42:03 - 01:42:19 | Speaker 7:

Hey, so I just wanted to say maybe she was a little rushy on that just because I personally am speaking very, very slow. but I don't think his response was very appropriate. I think that she deserves a guy that is going to be much better to her in the long run.

01:42:19 - 01:42:54 | Speaker 1:

He should be nicer about what he just said. Maybe that's the thing that you, Aaron, you kind of missed out on is the fact that for you to talk the way that you did just a second ago about Samantha just making maybe just an honest assumption mistake about you guys spending the holidays together. I don't know. Mojo in the Morning, second date update. Hi, what's going on? Your comments? Oh, we got a bad... Oh, look at these lines. That sounded like me after having a Friendsgiving the other day. What's going on, Stephanie?

01:42:55 - 01:42:56 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, hi.

01:42:57 - 01:42:57 | Speaker 1:

Hey, what's up?

01:42:58 - 01:43:07 | Speaker 6:

I was trying to say that it's really easy to get excited about, like, relationships and stuff. And he could have easily been like, that's a little too fast. Let's just keep dating. Yep.

01:43:07 - 01:43:11 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that would have been a nicer way of probably putting it, Aaron.

01:43:11 - 01:43:17 | Speaker 4:

What's up? Yeah, but a girl that goes on two dates to assume that we're going to do Thanksgiving cheese.

01:43:17 - 01:43:19 | Speaker 8:

Sausage and cheese McMuffins.

01:43:19 - 01:43:24 | Speaker 1:

I'm sorry. That sounds good. I'm sorry. Listener Rachel is ordering a sausage and cheese McMuffin.

01:43:24 - 01:43:25 | Speaker 8:

I am. I'm sorry.

01:43:26 - 01:43:31 | Speaker 1:

That's okay. Hold on. We'll let you finish there. What's up? What's up, Rachel?

01:43:32 - 01:43:43 | Speaker 8:

No, no. I really feel like it's too soon. It's like a person meeting kids. Like, I don't let anybody meet my kids until six months to a year later of being in a relationship.

01:43:44 - 01:43:48 | Speaker 1:

So no holidays within a couple of weeks of being with each other.

01:43:48 - 01:43:51 | Speaker 8:

No holidays, nothing like that. No, no whatsoever. Nobody meets my kids.

01:43:51 - 01:44:04 | Speaker 1:

Pull around to the first window, please. Thank you so much. Stephanie, this happened to you? Or Stephen, I'm sorry, this happened to you? Close. Stephan. Stephan, I apologize. We'll try them all. What's going on?

01:44:05 - 01:44:48 | Speaker 2:

no pretty good how you doing uh so i can i can kind of relate because i'm actually in a new relationship too and we've only gone on a couple dates and my mom actually was the one that suggests like oh you should invite her over we're doing a family dinner and i remember being like ah i think it's too soon you know it's uh it is a lot to ask but to shannon's point i think he was just a little uh intense about his response yes intense is a great word yeah yeah it's you know it's just too harsh you know it's a simple no can work i know it's kind of hard to for some people just to say no but at the same time it's so much more rude just a ghost or do what he's doing so i i was siding with him at first but like you said it's just i mean a harsh reaction thank you for the

01:44:48 - 01:45:23 | Speaker 1:

call mel hi hi mel what's happening hello yes hi mel Thank you. Yeah, I think that he is terrible because there's a better way to talk to someone and let them know that they're moving too fast, and he did it all the wrong way. Like, if you're not there yet, just say, hey, I don't think we're at that point yet for Thanksgiving, but maybe we can hang out over the weekend. Like, you can do stuff in a nicer way, and I feel like he shouldn't date anyone with that attitude. Mel, what were you doing?

01:45:24 - 01:45:54 | Speaker 4:

Glad we asked. Thanks for that. I was wondering what the giggle was about. though uh all right thank you mel i appreciate that we all agree with your sentiment all right well i uh samantha i don't think you're going to be obviously spending thanksgiving with him matter of fact i don't think you're going to be spending anything with him after that at least yeah that was a lot yeah uh i wish you well and i thank you for coming on the air with us and uh doing second date update and i think that you'll have a better thanksgiving if you're just

01:45:54 - 01:46:06 | Speaker 5:

with your family i know it's a bummer i totally agree i just that was very eye-opening and disappointing but i'd rather know now so um thank you guys thanks

01:46:06 - 01:46:12 | Speaker 4:

may your turkey be moist and nobody use that word to describe it happy thanksgiving

01:46:12 - 01:46:19 | Speaker 6:

from mojo in the morning mojo in the morning's dirty on the 30 all right channon what you got

01:46:19 - 01:46:24 | Speaker 4:

trending this hour in the dirty on the 30 today well taylor swift released her first statement

01:46:24 - 01:47:20 | Speaker 2:

over the weekend about that ticket debacle sounding her air surrounding her eras tour she essentially told her fans that she's as mad about what happened as you are swifty she wrote quote it is truly amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets but it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them. Ticketmaster also apologizing for the massive technical issues. They posted a statement which reads, we strive to make ticket buying as easy as possible for fans. That hasn't been the case for many people trying to buy tickets for Taylor Swift the Era's tour. First, we want to apologize to Taylor and all of her fans, especially those who had a terrible experience trying to purchase tickets, which was like everybody. Ticketmaster said they didn't anticipate the high demand of people wanting tickets. We've heard that story last week. They said they are working to correct their technology so that this does not happen.

01:47:20 - 01:47:39 | Speaker 4:

Can I clear a couple things? Because I kept hearing a lot of politicians talking about antitrust and Live Nation and all this stuff. This is not a Live Nation show, and people need to understand that. That Ticketmaster was hired by AEG to do the ticket process.

01:47:39 - 01:47:39 | Speaker 2:

Right.

01:47:39 - 01:48:04 | Speaker 4:

So when the politicians all say, well, this is because there's only one ticket company and there's only one promoter that owns them, they're wrong. And the media doesn't tell you that story. So this has to do with, obviously, a problem that Ticketmaster has in doing this. But don't come down on Live Nation for being the problem on this one because Live Nation had nothing to do with this Taylor Swift concert.

01:48:04 - 01:48:06 | Speaker 6:

Well, they own Ticketmaster. I understand. That's the only thing.

01:48:06 - 01:48:34 | Speaker 4:

But they weren't the sole. Matter of fact, she doesn't use Live Nation as her promoter So AEG is the promoter And they have and bear probably just as much responsibility as Ticketmaster does Not coming down and crapping Because I kept hearing that all the time I'm going, that's like misinformation That's been broadcast by these politicians And these news outlets are reporting it And not reporting it correctly

01:48:34 - 01:48:40 | Speaker 3:

Well, isn't it the problem that the stadiums that she's using has exclusive contracts with Ticketmaster.

01:48:40 - 01:48:52 | Speaker 4:

Well, the problem is, Megan, there's no other person that does tickets. Like, there's no other form of... Well, there could be. Well, then people need to go and start it. You know what I mean?

01:48:52 - 01:49:00 | Speaker 3:

Well, the problem is that Ticketmaster has these exclusive contracts, so they have non-competes. So if a venue wanted to use somebody else or if an artist wanted to, they can't.

01:49:00 - 01:49:28 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, well, then maybe what needs to happen is people need to start those companies to go do that. But also, the other thing too is they the big problem to me lies in the fact that they need to stop doing it's today is the day that this many or a or this club person gets there like nine different pre-sale options they need to limit the amount of pre-club stuff and allow more people to be able the average person that doesn't want to have to go get a credit card to go get to do this it's frustrating

01:49:28 - 01:49:35 | Speaker 3:

but the other problem then is it eliminates some of the bots buying the tickets like there's just no proper... It's a lose-lose

01:49:35 - 01:49:36 | Speaker 2:

in any situation.

01:49:37 - 01:49:43 | Speaker 6:

Olivia Wilde and Harry... I think we all need to go back to sleeping in line at Harmony House in the podcast. Can I be honest

01:49:43 - 01:49:46 | Speaker 2:

with you? That's what I used to do, Southland Mall. That was me. I slept on the sidewalk all the time.

01:49:46 - 01:49:53 | Speaker 6:

They used to still rip us off because the guy that was the manager would actually buy him for his 20 friends before he'd open the doors. But at least it was only 20

01:49:53 - 01:50:00 | Speaker 4:

people. I heard a news guy say that that was doing a live report outside of one of the ticket broker places, like the Madison.

01:50:00 - 01:50:05 | Speaker 3:

square garden or whatever and i and honestly that might be the case they may have to go back to

01:50:05 - 01:50:10 | Speaker 2:

those days friends that i met sleeping out of the janet jackson line in like the 90s

01:50:10 - 01:50:29 | Speaker 1:

olivia weld and harry styles are no longer together they've called it quits after two years of dating they're apparently taking a break and to blame here hectic schedules i'm told that the split was a very amicable decision and they remain close friends there is no bad blood

01:50:29 - 01:50:35 | Speaker 2:

And again, we'll get that. We'll get that story. I mean, that's the lamest excuse.

01:50:35 - 01:51:02 | Speaker 1:

Do you guys see what Kanye West tweeted yesterday? One month after his Twitter account was suspended over all of those anti-Semitic remarks, he tweeted testing, testing, seeing if my Twitter is unblocked. He subsequently referenced his former hate speech and tweeted Shalom with a little smiley face. I also heard over the weekend, I think he deleted this, that he did declare a 2024 presidential run. Did you guys see that? Yes, no. Does anyone care?

01:51:03 - 01:51:05 | Speaker 2:

We're not. He can shout it into an echo.

01:51:05 - 01:51:28 | Speaker 1:

Leonardo DiCaprio spotted leaving a New York City restaurant with Gigi Hadid. So they're still going strong, taking it slow, definitely dating. They were first linked in September during New York Fashion Week. And the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which actually took place back on November 5th, but aired over the weekend on HBO and HBO Max as like a four-hour broadcast.

01:51:28 - 01:51:30 | Speaker 3:

I recorded it and still haven't watched it yet. Is it good?

01:51:30 - 01:51:43 | Speaker 1:

Lots of collabs and performances. Lionel Richie, I know you love him. Olivia Rodrigo, Dolly Parton. Cheryl Crow and Zach Brown actually did 9 to 5 as a tribute to Dolly, which was great. Eminem, who got inducted, did a collab with Steven Tyler.

01:51:53 - 01:51:59 | Speaker 4:

That's cool.

01:51:59 - 01:52:02 | Speaker 1:

Also did another collab with Ed Sheeran.

01:52:08 - 01:52:13 | Speaker 4:

I want to hear Eminem do a ballad.

01:52:13 - 01:52:17 | Speaker 3:

Like, perfect. You know what I mean? Or something. Like, do like a...

01:52:17 - 01:52:19 | Speaker 1:

I want to hear Eminem do 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton.

01:52:19 - 01:52:20 | Speaker 3:

Oh my God, wouldn't that be fun?

01:52:23 - 01:52:26 | Speaker 1:

I think my wife's excited to see Backstreet Boys. Absolutely. Khalid, I think I would like, yeah. Oh, yeah.

01:53:09 - 01:53:36 | Speaker 3:

So many hit songs. The video I saw over the weekend for the very first time, if you haven't seen it, we should post it up on our social media. It is so good. But the Backstreet Boys redid last Christmas the song that was made popular by Wham, George Michael, and that other guy from Wham. And I want you to take a listen to it. They're going to be doing this live December 6th at Jingle Ball. Last Christmas, I gave you my heart

01:53:36 - 01:53:41 | Unknown:

So the very next day, you gave it away

01:53:41 - 01:53:48 | Speaker 4:

Side dish, does wine count? Happy Thanksgiving from Mojo in the Morning.

01:53:51 - 01:54:19 | Speaker 3:

Mojo in the Morning Show. Thank you for listening Channel 955 104.5 SNX 92.5 KISS FM And of course The iHeartRadio app Where you can always listen to the show Spike You are going for Christmas To go visit the fam, huh? Going to go visit mom and dad Mama Spike and Daddy Spike

01:54:19 - 01:55:16 | Speaker 2:

Try and always get the kids home and visit and make sure that they spend some good quality time with the grandparents. So back to Philadelphia to the home I grew up in for the first half of my life. And I'm actually like at this crossroads right now trying to figure out how to have this conversation. I want to make the call to my parents, but I don't know how to bring it up. Do I need to get a hotel room? because i'm at this weird point where meg and i have been dating for almost a year and a half so and we recently moved in together i mean we're obviously pretty serious in our relationship but we are not united in holy matrimony in the eyes of god and our ultra catholic parents yeah so i don't know how they would feel about it so last year i got a hotel room when i took her to philly to meet my family for the first time and uh this is different because obviously they've met her a

01:55:16 - 01:55:19 | Speaker 3:

bunch of times they've hung out with her how did your parents feel when you guys stayed in the hotel

01:55:19 - 01:56:28 | Speaker 2:

room well they didn't i didn't bring it up and didn't ask them oh see but they weren't in the hotel you stayed with your parents no no no we i i stayed with i uh i stayed with my parents for a few days and then after christmas meg flew in to join up with us and i told my parents i got a hotel room for us when meg gets here and then i moved into the hotel with her they didn't say anything like they didn't they didn't ever stay here exactly yeah they didn't say oh why are you getting a hotel stay here and so i just assumed okay i made the right move you know because it To them, it was new because even though we had been dating for a while, they hadn't met her yet. But now, flash forward, it's been a year and a half. They've hung out with her. They've met her a bunch of times. They've stayed at our house. They came to visit a month ago, and they stayed in the house that we have. So I feel like I can't figure out if I should just outright ask her, ask my mom. Then I thought this morning on the drive into work, well, maybe I should put it in an email So it gives them time to talk to each other and make a less awkward decision on the spot. Like, I don't want to put them on the spot.

01:56:28 - 01:57:02 | Speaker 3:

Maybe just do the whole thing like you did before where you say, hey, we're coming out on these dates and we're talking about getting a hotel room and just see what she says again. Okay. Or doesn't say. because if because in the case where you were bringing uh meg to meet them they if they had an opposition to that and they wanted her to stay you know at the house or you you to stay with her at the house did they assume by the way when you say we're getting i'm getting a hotel room did they assume you were going to stay with meg in the hotel or did they were they freaked out when you all of a sudden packed your bags and moved over no i told them i told them i would go to the

01:57:02 - 01:57:19 | Speaker 2:

hotel and it would be the same situation this year where i will be staying at their house for a few days before meg gets there again because meg has uh custody of her son and we'll be doing christmas here yeah and then she'll be joining me at my parents like two three days later do you really

01:57:19 - 01:57:24 | Speaker 3:

want to stay i mean because you can't do anything you're not gonna have well i would i would never

01:57:24 - 01:57:32 | Speaker 2:

do anything ever in the history of staying at my parents house i think that's disrespectful you guys always do that and have sex and when you're staying over other people's houses i don't do

01:57:32 - 01:58:11 | Speaker 3:

that i don't do that i don't i don't even have sex in my own house but i i don't i don't do that my parent or my uh in-laws yeah no no matter of fact i have slept with my father-in-law and my wife has slept with my mother-in-law because they like to sit there and watch tv together and stuff like that and then they fall asleep the next thing i know i'm like looking at joe my father-in-law going okay you ready to go to bed i think i but i think though that wasn't it more fun when you had the hotel room and you guys could have like hotel sex? Of course. So maybe do you like these? Do you like sleeping in your old

01:58:11 - 01:58:22 | Speaker 2:

bedroom and stuff? No. But I know my mom likes having me there under the roof. Getting up and having coffee in the morning and listening to my dad read the obituaries to me every morning.

01:58:22 - 01:58:50 | Speaker 1:

Right. But what if you guys That's my dad now. Nothing better than that. What if you guys don't decide to get married? Like you live together you've established that you are committed to each other and you said you're not sure if you guys will get married but you'll be you'll be you know partners but they're so you never get to stay there yeah they're so old-fashioned so that's my question does that mean that you would never ever ever get to stay there together i don't know like at what point do they say like okay we get

01:58:50 - 01:58:55 | Speaker 3:

there we see their situation you know what would it what would a con what would a conversation be

01:58:55 - 01:59:01 | Speaker 1:

like with your mom let's call her on the air and just just break it to him what would what would

01:59:01 - 01:59:09 | Speaker 3:

it be like if you if you said uh mom we're coming in you know like how would she take that i don't

01:59:09 - 01:59:51 | Speaker 2:

know how she would i don't know which way she would go with it so that's why i'm wondering if i need to email or text so that she can converse the two of them i was trying to get you to do your mom's impersonation oh yeah i don't know how what she would say oh oh you want to stay in our guest room okay well um okay well it's a small bed it's a little small uh you know it could fit to it'd probably be very uncomfortable but uh you know the stairs make a lot of squeaky noise new visitors might not be used to the squeaky stairs so would your mom do it like like

01:59:51 - 02:00:03 | Speaker 3:

this weekend is thanksgiving weekend and joe's coming back home with his girlfriend and they have to stay on separate floors do they We make them stay on separate floors, yes. Wow. So would your parents be-

02:00:03 - 02:00:07 | Speaker 4:

Wait, so, okay, so this is good to ask you then because they've been dating a year, right?

02:00:07 - 02:00:09 | Speaker 3:

They've been dating a year and a half.

02:00:09 - 02:00:10 | Speaker 4:

So same timeline.

02:00:10 - 02:00:18 | Speaker 3:

I don't think I'd let you and Meg stay in my house in the same room. I don't want you getting the sheets all dirty and stuff like that. So, yeah.

02:00:18 - 02:00:22 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's different, I guess. I wouldn't trust your son either. He's going to do the dirty.

02:00:22 - 02:00:47 | Speaker 3:

Well, the other thing, too, is it might be a little different that he's a 20-something-year-old guy. and uh but chelsea and i have a rule in our house which by the way spike's mom if you're there spike's mom yes i think the rule we're good catholic people too and the rule is you got to put a ring on it well how does it how does beyonce do that if you like it if you like it then you got to put

02:00:47 - 02:00:56 | Speaker 2:

a ring on it what if what if they i shouldn't say you what if they don't want to put a ring on it

02:00:56 - 02:00:58 | Speaker 3:

Well, then they're not sleeping in the same bed.

02:00:58 - 02:00:58 | Speaker 2:

Ever?

02:00:59 - 02:01:16 | Speaker 3:

No, not allowing it. Not allowing it. Then you know what gets to happen? Guess what gets to happen? We do the whole thing that I do with Chelsea's parents. I'll be sleeping in the same bed with Joe, and Chelsea has to sleep in the same bed with Joe's girlfriend.

02:01:16 - 02:01:28 | Speaker 4:

They would probably love that, because my dad and I are both snorers, so that would benefit both women. Could you imagine? To send us off. I want the visual picture. Which is my parents don't even, you know, now it's like a treat for them to have separate rooms to sleep in.

02:01:29 - 02:01:39 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. I just think, I think that the email thing is interesting because then you give her too much opportunity to think about it. I agree. I think you spring it on and just catch her off guard.

02:01:40 - 02:01:56 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Well, I want her to think about it. I don't want to put pressure on her and make her uncomfortable. But at the same time, just realize if I get a hotel room, that's less time with us because now I'm staying to enjoy the breakfast buffet at the hotel. And I'm going to mosey over to Starbucks, cross street and get a coffee. and then it might not be your house until 11 or noon.

02:01:56 - 02:02:03 | Speaker 3:

Are the girls staying at your parents' house? Because that's another one, too. That's another deciding factor. Like, what do you do with your daughters?

02:02:03 - 02:02:22 | Speaker 4:

So the timed out, the way we're doing it, my girls will spend a few days with me at my parents' house, and then I'm taking them to the airport, and they're flying home with their mom, and then Meg's coming in at the same time. So they don't overlap because of how the custody worked and everything.

02:02:23 - 02:02:49 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. I tend to think that it's the rules of the house under my roof. I know Megan looks like I'm very old-fashioned. Our Megan here, not your Megan, Spike. My Megan here looks like it's old-fashioned. But I guarantee you this, you would not be sleeping in a room in your dad's house if you went to your dad's house with a boy.

02:02:50 - 02:02:53 | Speaker 2:

I think it's different now that I'm older and I have my own place.

02:02:53 - 02:02:55 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I get it. Joe has his phone place.

02:02:55 - 02:03:04 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think it would be different. Like, I think if I didn't, like, obviously I live six minutes away from my dad, so that wouldn't be the case. But I think if I traveled across the country, he would.

02:03:05 - 02:03:19 | Speaker 3:

No, I don't want to. You wouldn't. If you stayed at my house, I'm going to say this to you, which I've offered you for Jingle Ball. If you want to come stay at my house, you're more than welcome to stay at my house. Yes, but thanks. You come stay at my house. You bring some strange with you. That strange ain't sleeping in the bed with you.

02:03:19 - 02:03:23 | Speaker 4:

That's different. But Joe's girlfriend isn't strange. It's a year and a half. You've hung out with her?

02:03:23 - 02:03:26 | Speaker 3:

I don't care. She's not my daughter-in-law.

02:03:26 - 02:03:30 | Speaker 4:

You don't think she's going to sneak around and humpity dump after you fall asleep at the clock?

02:03:31 - 02:03:43 | Speaker 3:

Joe's past girlfriends weren't allowed to. He would sneak and do it when I was falling asleep, but no, not having that. I got technology nowadays. I got alarms and buzzers and ring cams and all the rest of that stuff.

02:03:43 - 02:03:46 | Speaker 2:

Didn't he figure out a way around that and was sneaking out of the house before?

02:03:46 - 02:04:12 | Speaker 3:

No. Well, he did it with the alarm system. He actually, yeah, he deactivated one of the window alarms. a little bastard but let's go let's talk about this little bastard spike over here i i think your mom and dad it's funny i because your mom and dad i know that they spent a great deal of time with you and megan when they were just here yeah but i think it's different when it's under their roof well that's the question that they probably do want you and i'm trying not to be disrespectful

02:04:12 - 02:04:16 | Speaker 4:

the question is i can't figure out the rules of the house i don't know what their rules are what

02:04:16 - 02:04:20 | Speaker 3:

do they do with your brothers though have your brothers ever brought a girl back to uh to their

02:04:20 - 02:04:31 | Speaker 4:

house um i know you've one brother actually he's still good kind of married right yeah but now they think about it paul paul did he was dating someone for a few years that he might have brought

02:04:31 - 02:04:51 | Speaker 3:

back to the house i gotta find out find out call paul let's find out what paul did yeah i didn't even ask that question was paul stupin in the parents don't say stupid was he doing it natalie what's up hi no i just i texted in um my husband and i despite being

02:04:51 - 02:04:59 | Speaker 1:

engaged and being living together we weren't allowed to share at my parents house until we were actually married yeah it didn't matter that we lived together had the facade

02:05:00 - 02:05:04 | Speaker 2:

at our house that we shared separate bedrooms when they came to visit but uh facade is the big

02:05:04 - 02:05:19 | Speaker 1:

that's that's hilarious because that's the big word right we're all putting on a facade like when i was when i was 22 and engaged i had the same rule you had about you know couldn't sleep because we're not married yet it's like the facade of oh because what we might cohabitate for

02:05:19 - 02:05:38 | Speaker 3:

the first time like what can i be honest with you though when you have it happen to you spike when you have Natalie or Nicole bring a boy home, you're going to not want that. Well, I do have it happen. I was going to say, you do have it. Wait, you let them sleep with their boyfriends in your house?

02:05:38 - 02:05:53 | Speaker 1:

Not Nicole. She's younger, and they've been dating a little less. But Natalie's been with this. She's about to graduate college. She's been dating the same kid for six years. And they're very committed, and I respect their relationship. I let them sleep together.

02:05:53 - 02:05:55 | Speaker 3:

Wow. You're not a good Catholic

02:05:55 - 02:05:56 | Speaker 1:

She's been, no I'm not

02:05:56 - 02:06:00 | Speaker 3:

You're not a good Catholic The Lord's going to get you

02:06:00 - 02:06:02 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, cool Come and help you

02:06:02 - 02:06:11 | Speaker 3:

Spike's mom, what did you do to this guy? Come on, take him to church for God's sakes What's going on, Beth? How you doing?

02:06:12 - 02:06:35 | Speaker 2:

Hi, so my dad and my parents are so of yours Like school of thinking, not Spikes Like we've been together for five years We've lived together for two We're in our 30s and we still have to sleep he sleeps in the guest room no well yes it's that's their rules together oh i know we it's not like it's new it's been like two years it's so funny so we joke that it's not the guest room

02:06:35 - 02:06:40 | Speaker 3:

it's his room do you let me ask you a question do you ever sneak over in the middle of the night

02:06:40 - 02:06:55 | Speaker 2:

when they're had the sound machine on loud um so i mean we live together so it's not like that big of a deal to be apart for like three days yeah yeah we're used we're also used to like the king bed he's like six four and my parents like they have smaller beds so sometimes i'm like

02:06:55 - 02:06:59 | Speaker 3:

you can go over there for a night or two well that's the other thing too is the bed big enough

02:06:59 - 02:07:44 | Speaker 1:

spike at your parents house for both of you guys the bed i swear is like 80 years old and it makes so much noise when you got to get up to pee that you wake up the whole house so it's not but i've always been respectful of that and other people i told you even when i visited my brother in florida i didn't we we don't bake cookies while we're visiting people like we there's other yeah there's other times and places for that i'm respectful of people's houses but i'm also like be a realist what does it mean to get a ring on it and you're i mean anyone can get any bozos can get married and they're not taking it seriously i mean look at all our celebrity kardashians and j-lo's been married 28 times and what is that what does a ring mean you're either committed or you're not committed and you be respectful of the of the people who you're a guest of but you should put

02:07:44 - 02:07:52 | Speaker 3:

that on your vows when you guys get married katie what's up hi i was just calling to say that when

02:07:52 - 02:08:26 | Speaker 2:

my boyfriend and i first started dating we were both 19 at the time i was born in a very catholic family he was not at all and like we always respected my parents rules of like okay we're gonna sleep separate like that's fine i was very used to that my dad wouldn't even let me go out on a date by myself until i was 16 so i was just very used to that but the first time they let us sleep in the same bed we both gave each other a look of like oh my god this is happening like we're are we adults now we're allowed to do this it's weird right even when you sleep in the same

02:08:26 - 02:08:32 | Speaker 3:

bed you don't you don't want to do it like spike said in your parents house it's just weird no

02:08:32 - 02:09:03 | Speaker 2:

we have such an old house that like i don't even want to open the door at night let alone do anything else yeah uh ellie what's up so i had a situation where my parents were the same way like absolutely cannot sleep in the same bed if we're there so we're home for our wedding weekend like literally the jig was up at that point we were getting married we were home on a thursday our wedding was saturday and my mom was still like i would just feel more comfortable if you waited And I'm like, Mom, it's two days away.

02:09:03 - 02:09:04 | Speaker 3:

Right.

02:09:04 - 02:09:08 | Speaker 1:

It's not a deal. It's so silly. You're going to spend the rest of your life together.

02:09:08 - 02:09:11 | Speaker 3:

She wanted you to consummate your relationship in a very nice way.

02:09:11 - 02:09:18 | Speaker 1:

And by the way, our parents are all hypocritical because, you know, they were all humping at 14 years old and had 12 kids by the time they were 20.

02:09:20 - 02:09:36 | Speaker 2:

And fast forward, when we were married, my mom would be like, okay, you know, if it's that time, like, I understand. And I was like, this is so creepy. Like, a year ago, we couldn't, and now, like, really? Like, what's going on here?

02:09:37 - 02:09:42 | Speaker 3:

Why don't you talk to them today and then come back tomorrow and tell us what they say?

02:09:43 - 02:09:43 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think so.

02:09:43 - 02:09:46 | Speaker 3:

Okay. Why are you so nervous?

02:09:46 - 02:09:54 | Speaker 1:

How about I just send them this podcast, and then they can bring it up that way. What's that, on the podcast? I'll just send them this whole break in the audience.

02:09:54 - 02:09:58 | Speaker 2:

Isn't it so funny that you're a grown adult

02:09:58 - 02:10:09 | Speaker 3:

and you're nervous to talk to your parents? Because I want to be respectful. I'm trying to do the right thing, but also I'm trying to not spend $800 on a hotel down the street. It's so stupid. It's about the money.

02:10:09 - 02:10:12 | Speaker 4:

It's so stupid. It's about the money. That's what it is. Bingo. It is.

02:10:13 - 02:10:14 | Speaker 5:

You're not trying to stoop at all.

02:10:15 - 02:10:25 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. No. You don't care. All you're trying to do is save a little extra cash. Oh, my God. The truth comes out. God, you're turning into your parents.

02:10:25 - 02:10:37 | Speaker 3:

If I said to them, if I said, oh, okay, we can get a hotel room. can i have your credit card because you know that's eight hundred dollars you want me to come visit and spend the holidays with you that comes with a cost un-freaking-believe long live big

02:10:37 - 02:10:56 | Speaker 5:

money spot yeah mojo on the morning show phone number 844 mojo live text 95500 good to have you guys listening to us this morning uh shannon how much did uh did they deep dive you you guys know

02:10:56 - 02:12:55 | Speaker 2:

girls especially are notorious for deep diving like whomever their friends are going out with right Megan like we can go we can become like the best detectives in the whole entire world I'll find out your social security I mean it is crazy what we are capable of so I actually before I even tell this story I want to know what's the best thing that you have found out about deep diving somebody that your friends or family were dating so Wes was in Toronto all last week and over the weekend for a business trip but that's where he grew up so it was kind of cool because he was there for work and then he ended up staying a couple of extra days um to hang out with with some of his old friends and i met one of his closest friends his name is rich we call him well they call him crazy rich for i mean that's a story for another day um so i met him once but literally only for like an hour or two wes goes out to dinner you know with him over the weekend and realizes over the course of this dinner that Rich had deep-dived me. Like, really, really deep-dived me on the internet. And apparently that's just how he is. Like, this is something that he does for everybody, so it wasn't just me. But Wes said, he's like, Wes goes, he knew things about you that I didn't even know about you after dating you for over a year. Like he knew all about where I went to school, like elementary, middle, high, university, whatever, who I was engaged to. That dude's history. Remember my ex, like my ex-fiance, all about him, knew like where he grew up because he was a fellow Canadian, knew all about Andrew, my ex-husband, and Andrew's business, and how much it costs to open a location of Andrew's family business. I mean, to the point where Wes was like, okay, Rich, you're actually scaring me here with how far you went in deep diving.

02:12:56 - 02:12:59 | Speaker 3:

When you do deep dive, you're not supposed to tell the person that you did all that research.

02:12:59 - 02:13:02 | Speaker 5:

And he did. Wait, was there a reason why he did such a deep dive on you?

02:13:02 - 02:13:11 | Speaker 2:

He just does this. Wes said he does it all the time. and then he'll pretend that he doesn't know anything and he'll kept asking Wes questions about

02:13:11 - 02:13:13 | Speaker 5:

me. But then

02:13:13 - 02:13:15 | Speaker 2:

I already knew the answer. So he would ask questions

02:13:15 - 02:13:19 | Speaker 5:

to see if Wes knew the answer to it and then when Wes didn't know the answer, did he go?

02:13:19 - 02:13:20 | Speaker 2:

He'd be like, well, did you know?

02:13:21 - 02:13:28 | Speaker 5:

That's weird. Wow. How did he get your information? I mean, I know you're somebody that's on the radio.

02:13:28 - 02:13:34 | Speaker 1:

I was going to say, I've Googled all of us and Shannon is the easiest to find all the information on. Oh, yeah.

02:13:34 - 02:13:44 | Speaker 5:

But, I mean, information like he did about the exes and then all that stuff. Like, he had to go, like, 10 deep on Google to figure some of this stuff out.

02:13:44 - 02:13:51 | Speaker 2:

When you Google Shannon, Katy Perry pops up. Yeah. Right, because that's who my ex-fiance dated before he dated me, weirdly enough.

02:13:52 - 02:14:06 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. Well, that's interesting. Wow. So, did he say anything to Wes that made Wes seem a little freaked out at all? I mean, we're still dating today, but I don't think so. Maybe I should call Wes up and ask Wes.

02:14:06 - 02:14:08 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, you've got to call Wes and ask him.

02:14:08 - 02:14:12 | Speaker 5:

I wonder if Wes has any reservations on anything.

02:14:13 - 02:14:14 | Speaker 2:

He probably didn't tell me if anything came up.

02:14:14 - 02:14:21 | Speaker 5:

So that's interesting that Wes's friend did more of a background check on you than Wes did.

02:14:21 - 02:14:26 | Speaker 2:

Right. And normally this is such a girl thing. Oh, for sure. Like we do this all day long.

02:14:26 - 02:14:35 | Speaker 5:

Okay, so what did you find out about the person that either your friend was dating or you were dating by doing a deep dive?

02:14:35 - 02:14:35 | Unknown:

Yeah.

02:14:35 - 02:14:52 | Speaker 5:

By going through. What was the crazy thing that you found out? 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. That's kind of interesting that Megan deep dives us. What is it? I didn't, Megan, I don't think I've ever Googled or deep dive, deep divin.

02:14:53 - 02:14:54 | Speaker 2:

Deep dove?

02:14:54 - 02:14:59 | Speaker 5:

Deep dive? Yes, exactly. I don't think I've ever thought of doing that.

02:15:00 - 02:15:11 | Speaker 6:

I get bored. I get very bored. And then I get disappointed because when I Google myself, because, yeah, I've done that before. Kind of disappointing. I thought more stuff would pop up, but not really.

02:15:11 - 02:15:19 | Speaker 4:

Do you ever, like, when you look at yourself and see what the deep dive is, you're like, crap. And then you got to, like, put stuff out there to make it look better?

02:15:19 - 02:15:27 | Speaker 6:

It's not. It's more the Google images that pop up are so disappointing for me. They are. Because it's never flattering. It's always the worst photos.

02:15:27 - 02:15:38 | Speaker 4:

Shannon What's the guy's name again Wes's friend? Crazy Rich Crazy Rich When are you going to get a chance to face to face

02:15:38 - 02:15:46 | Speaker 5:

Crazy Rich? I already have I met him very briefly When Wes What's my boyfriend's name? When he ran the Toronto Marathon

02:15:46 - 02:15:50 | Speaker 4:

A couple of weeks ago What was the look on his face like

02:15:50 - 02:15:54 | Speaker 5:

When you met him? He was super sweet I mean to my face

02:15:54 - 02:15:55 | Speaker 4:

Had he already deep? No

02:15:55 - 02:16:00 | Speaker 5:

I don't know I don't know, because this didn't come out until this past weekend.

02:16:00 - 02:16:00 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

02:16:00 - 02:16:10 | Speaker 5:

And I met him a couple of weekends ago. So maybe he met me and was like, something off about her. That's what I'm going to research. Honestly, that makes me. I feel like I was very nice.

02:16:10 - 02:16:16 | Speaker 4:

That makes me suspicious. But maybe that's suspicious. I wonder if maybe he got a little like, oh, there's a red herring here.

02:16:16 - 02:16:17 | Speaker 5:

There's a hair in the butter.

02:16:17 - 02:16:19 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. What's going on, Kay?

02:16:20 - 02:16:21 | Unknown:

Yep.

02:16:21 - 02:16:21 | Speaker 4:

Good morning.

02:16:22 - 02:16:23 | Speaker 7:

Yes.

02:16:23 - 02:16:43 | Speaker 3:

Good morning, you guys. Okay. So, you know, I exchanged numbers with this guy, and he was, you know, cool. Everything was good when we met, very respectful and everything. And I did a background search on just his number, which led to, like, his Facebook profile. On his Facebook profile, someone had screenshotted a picture of his sex offender. He was on a sex offender group.

02:16:43 - 02:16:49 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. That's when you definitely need to do a deep dive on somebody, right?

02:16:50 - 02:17:00 | Speaker 3:

It's creepy. It's creepy, right? Yeah. Yeah. So they screenshotted it, put it on his Facebook profile, and then they left him out. So he couldn't get it off of there.

02:17:00 - 02:17:08 | Speaker 4:

Wow. So I will say this. When you hear a story like that, if you're dating somebody, you probably should do a deep dive. What's up, Bailey?

02:17:09 - 02:17:30 | Speaker 2:

Hey. I was just calling in. My dad actually had his ex tell my stepmom that he was the father of her twins. And so she went, like, full-blown detective and, like, looked at his bank statements and, like...

02:17:30 - 02:17:40 | Speaker 4:

Can you go back a little bit? Because I'm confused. Your dad told his ex that what?

02:17:40 - 02:17:45 | Speaker 2:

So his ex-girlfriend claimed that he was the father of her twin girl.

02:17:45 - 02:17:45 | Speaker 7:

Okay.

02:17:46 - 02:17:58 | Speaker 2:

And he wasn't. And so my stepmom at the time went detective and, like, looked at his bank statements and everything.

02:17:58 - 02:18:08 | Speaker 4:

And she did that to try to find out more information? And did she find out, has your dad gotten any shady stuff in his past?

02:18:08 - 02:18:17 | Speaker 2:

No, no. No, but it was funny because, like, she looked at his bank statements because he apparently paid her, like, $100.

02:18:18 - 02:18:33 | Speaker 4:

when she told him that's interesting yeah so i don't i still i'm still not following yeah totally but i don't know that that call confuses me next call lins hi that's the the alias you're

02:18:33 - 02:19:09 | Speaker 1:

being voice disguised yeah thank you um so i was out and about in downtown toledo and this guy he was just he just kept approaching me um wanting to have conversation with me and finally i caved and exchanged numbers with him so he got a hold of me on like facebook so i had gotten his like first and last name that way and my girlfriend is one of those like fbi type and we did a background check on him and he had an extensive criminal history of like domestic violence oh god oh god

02:19:09 - 02:19:20 | Speaker 4:

yeah like the whole nine it was crazy wow and it's wild because you're going out with them and you're hanging out and then how soon after you were dating no we didn't we didn't even make it

02:19:20 - 02:19:32 | Speaker 1:

that far you didn't okay good i was out and about and he just kept approaching me in the same bar finally i ended up leaving oh but i did cave and exchange numbers with him because i'm like a

02:19:32 - 02:19:59 | Speaker 4:

non-confrontational type unfortunately has anybody ever had a friend do a deep dive or family do a deep dive and you didn't believe what was going on and like you're like i'm not you still don't even believe it like if you find that information out that they're they've got this criminal past or something going on you almost kind of put the blinders on sometimes and you got to be careful that you do that like crazy rich talking to wes about uh shannon what's up molly

02:20:00 - 02:20:02 | Speaker 1:

Oh, hi. Good morning. I'm so sorry.

02:20:03 - 02:20:06 | Speaker 2:

Your voice is guys also, too. Molly's not your real name, right?

02:20:07 - 02:20:09 | Speaker 1:

No, it's not.

02:20:09 - 02:20:10 | Speaker 2:

Okay, an alias. What's going on?

02:20:11 - 02:20:38 | Speaker 1:

So my sister and I are estranged, but she does have, obviously, social media. So I check up on her every once in a while and realize she had recently got engaged. And the gentleman looks quite older than her. She's in her mid-20s. So I did a deep dive on the guy. I had to find his mom and, you know, siblings first, and then finally got to him. He's actually 20 years older, very recently divorced with three children.

02:20:38 - 02:20:44 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. Wow. So not only lied about his age, but lied about a family and all the other stuff going on.

02:20:45 - 02:21:18 | Speaker 1:

Well, I don't know that he lied. She's probably very aware of it, but it's just the whole situation is very strange because my family, who I'm estranged from, doesn't have anything to do with my children. but now they're inheriting these stepchildren so it's just like the whole situation's just weird but i had to do a deep dive because i'm like this guy looks um a little more senior than she does and sure enough he's significantly older older than me and her and i are 16 years apart so um yeah it was just odd but yeah deep dives are my favorite thing to do um and i will continue to do

02:21:18 - 02:21:53 | Speaker 2:

them because i will out somebody if i need to yeah tell everybody their story all right thank you for the call i appreciate it excited for uh family coming to town excited for food excited for everything excited to have a few more days off this week is going to be kind of nice we're going to uh be off on thursday and friday of this week excited for the lions going for their fourth win in a row excited for michigan and the and the ohio state buckeyes to find out uh you know who's going to be representing uh the big 10 i'm excited for the parade i'm excited only one who gets I'm so excited for Buffberry, but I'm so excited.

02:21:54 - 02:21:56 | Speaker 4:

Let us know how that goes. I'll be sleeping in the warm-up.

02:21:56 - 02:22:14 | Speaker 2:

You know what I thought was pretty amazing? Did you see the, they had the Hobnobble Gobble? Yeah. Which is the pre-parade party that they do. It's big, fancy. What is it called? Oh, it's a tradition. What is it called? The Hobnobble Gobble. That is so dumb. I've seen that video before. You've never heard of it?

02:22:14 - 02:22:15 | Speaker 3:

No.

02:22:15 - 02:23:13 | Speaker 2:

It's a Detroit thing, yeah. So they have, so the Detroit Parade is a big deal here in Detroit. And the people in Detroit make it seem like it's actually the Macy's Parade. It is a great parade. It's beautiful. It's very slow. But the Macy's Parade is the Macy's Parade. It prepares to be there for a while. Yeah. And so they have a pre-party on Friday night, I think it is. And they had the party on Friday night, not expecting that they were going to have to clean up afterwards to get the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns in here for that snow game because Buffalo got, like, 70-some inches of snow. And so, long story short, you should have seen the time-lapsed video of them cleaning up after the hobnobble gobble in the game. It was pretty wild. They showed it yesterday during the game, which, by the way, was pretty cool. I couldn't believe they sold out in just a matter of moments at Ford Field, which was pretty cool.

02:23:13 - 02:23:14 | Speaker 3:

Were tickets, like, $5 or something?

02:23:14 - 02:23:21 | Speaker 2:

There were some tickets that you could get for as low as, like, $25, But honestly, I looked at tickets and they were normal price.

02:23:21 - 02:23:21 | Speaker 3:

Oh, really?

02:23:21 - 02:23:37 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. And actually, the secondary market was selling a bunch of tickets for crazy prices. Because there was a lot of people that live in Buffalo or that are from Buffalo that don't live there anymore. And they wanted to come because this game was a lot closer than driving all the way to Buffalo and having to deal with that.

02:23:38 - 02:23:41 | Speaker 4:

Plus, to be able to see a playoff contention team in Ford Field. I know.

02:23:42 - 02:23:52 | Speaker 2:

Which, well, who knows? don't mistake that the Lions three in a row spike and they still have a chance to make the playoffs there's a very good chance

02:23:52 - 02:23:59 | Speaker 3:

I think the four words most spoken by Lions fans are they still have a chance Motor City Dan Campbell

02:23:59 - 02:24:22 | Speaker 2:

he's got this team playing some good football right now they looked good yesterday they actually looked really good so this week is going to be an interesting week with Thanksgiving and then we got all the stuff going on And then, you know, I don't know, I'm, I'm excited for like the, all the sporting stuff and all the side stuff that's, that's happening. What are you guys excited for this week with Thanksgiving?

02:24:22 - 02:24:28 | Speaker 3:

Well, today we're having a potluck at work and that's exciting. Did you, what did you bring for that?

02:24:28 - 02:24:29 | Speaker 2:

What did you do for the potluck?

02:24:29 - 02:24:56 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Well, I had to get up extra early this morning to assemble and prep it, but because of the timing, I couldn't cook it in advance or it would have been mush. so i had to get up at like 4 30 make the whole thing this morning before i came to work you made something for this yeah but then i left it in the fridge and then meg has to throw it in the oven for me and she's so nice she's gonna like bake it and then bring it wait you didn't cook anything

02:24:56 - 02:25:21 | Speaker 2:

i totally did you did not yeah meg made it Well, she's throwing it in the oven, but I have two casserole dishes that are in there. Wait, you are making an item for this thing? I made it at 4 o'clock this morning. I started assembling all the ingredients last night. What did you make? I made my family's, well, it's actually my recipe because I combined two family recipes, and it's a baked sweet potato and apple casserole. Oh, my God.

02:25:21 - 02:25:26 | Speaker 3:

That sounds amazing. Are you sure that that girlfriend of yours that I see on your Instagram cooking all the time?

02:25:26 - 02:25:43 | Speaker 2:

I know it's hard to believe because she is the cook. She's the one that will usually spend all day in the kitchen, but I've, I was not going to volunteer her to make something for work that she can't even enjoy. So she, I, she's going to be nice enough to put in the oven for me today because it has to be hot and fresh when it comes in.

02:25:43 - 02:25:50 | Speaker 3:

I, I, to me, I seem a lot, I feel like there's a, this is like, it's almost too good to be true.

02:25:50 - 02:26:10 | Speaker 2:

Well, you can have some if you want. No, I'm not. Well, I'm not, I'm going to try it and make sure, but I, do you want to call her and get her word that she was mad at me because i left the recipe on the counter all weekend because she's so a type personality like the the paper on the counter was bothering her all weekend but i had to like make sure i had all the ingredients i saw the costco pie in the

02:26:10 - 02:26:14 | Speaker 3:

refrigerator and i thought for sure that was yours no that's mine oh that's yours that's

02:26:14 - 02:26:26 | Speaker 4:

i was late this morning i forgot my pie and had to turn her around you had to go yeah wow okay well yeah i was like i'm not gonna forget that pie wow channon what are you contributing I made yesterday a pumpkin pie dip.

02:26:26 - 02:26:27 | Speaker 3:

Oh, wow.

02:26:28 - 02:26:34 | Speaker 4:

What do you dip in it? I brought these cranberry pumpkin, they're like cracker bread things.

02:26:35 - 02:26:38 | Speaker 3:

That's amazing. Unbelievable. You guys are fancy, fancy.

02:26:39 - 02:26:41 | Speaker 4:

What did you bring, Mojo? What did you bring?

02:26:41 - 02:26:47 | Speaker 3:

I catered the turkey and the ham from Steve's Deli. I paid for Steve's Deli just to bring the turkey and the ham.

02:26:47 - 02:26:48 | Speaker 4:

That was so nice of you.

02:26:48 - 02:26:52 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I figured I'm not making anything for my own house.

02:26:52 - 02:26:55 | Speaker 2:

I didn't see your name on the list. I saw the list of people bringing food. Your name wasn't on there.

02:26:55 - 02:26:58 | Speaker 3:

Julie Morgan came to me personally.

02:26:58 - 02:27:00 | Speaker 2:

She's the one that put out the list. Your name wasn't on that list.

02:27:00 - 02:27:22 | Speaker 3:

You can ask her. When you see a turkey and a ham being dropped off by Steve's Deli, then you know that I paid for it. I can see it on my credit card right now. It just got run. But that's on the list because I honestly don't make anything. If I'm going to make anything for this thing, cocktail weenies. That's it. You know the little cocktail weenies that you wrap in, The Pillsbury Joe stuff

02:27:22 - 02:27:24 | Speaker 4:

Those are pigs in a blanket

02:27:24 - 02:27:29 | Speaker 2:

I was hoping you would be the bartender Mojo because you mix some drinks for us

02:27:29 - 02:28:01 | Speaker 3:

No but you know what It's funny Tony said that He asked if there's any way that we can use Any of the alcohol from our bar In the studio And I said no No I said we're going to have it Put a tip jar out Actually this is the difference Isn't this the difference between Colleen and Paul We would have had a party at Paul's house that we would have had to run a million dollars in trade on the radio station for. Where Colleen does a little bit more of a family affair type thing where we're all bringing food. What I love, she actually

02:28:01 - 02:28:09 | Speaker 2:

said, contribute something that you make at home and Julie's going to hand out little cards so you can write what it is if you have a story behind why you always make that.

02:28:09 - 02:28:11 | Speaker 3:

People want your recipe, Spike.

02:28:13 - 02:28:15 | Speaker 2:

Maybe I'll share it. It's not that complicated.

02:28:16 - 02:28:17 | Speaker 3:

Why don't we do it?

02:28:17 - 02:28:18 | Speaker 1:

I hate people that won't share the recipe.

02:28:18 - 02:28:33 | Speaker 2:

I only have like three things I make So it's very sacred to me Because if I give this up Then I'm useless to everybody's dinner Then what do I have Then you can invite someone else Who makes it better than me

02:28:33 - 02:28:34 | Speaker 3:

Yeah exactly

02:28:34 - 02:28:40 | Speaker 2:

There's really nothing complicated about it If you add 10 pounds of sugar and butter to anything They'll like it

02:28:40 - 02:29:07 | Speaker 3:

That's the one thing Chelsea makes the best mashed potatoes ever They're the most unbelievable mashed potatoes Oh she puts so much stuff in it They're so good. Yeah. The only thing that honestly is comparable to it at all, and it's not even close, is Boston Markets, you know, because those things are just loaded with a bunch of fat and stuff. But all right. Well, we got our big Thanksgiving coming up a little bit later today. Excited to see what's going on. The last time I had a potluck at the radio station.

02:29:07 - 02:29:11 | Speaker 4:

I know. I was waiting for you to tell this story because I want to know who it's going to be today.

02:29:11 - 02:29:16 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I ate somebody's cat hair. Yeah. And I still like the whole day.

02:29:16 - 02:29:17 | Speaker 4:

I'm like, who's going to have stuff in there?

02:29:17 - 02:29:26 | Speaker 3:

I got like a hair in my, and then somebody goes, yeah, that's from so-and-so's cat. So I'm going to ask everybody beforehand, were your pets part of any of this stuff?

02:29:26 - 02:29:29 | Speaker 1:

The fact that they knew who it was. Someone else had that happen to them.

02:29:30 - 02:29:32 | Speaker 3:

The dirty's next and a chance for you to go to Jingle Ball.

02:29:33 - 02:29:49 | Speaker 1:

Yep, 2022 can suck it in a lot of ways. But we're here to make Christmas as good as ever. Mojo in the morning's breaking and entering Christmas wish makes the holiday incredible for families all over that may not have had the best year. Know somebody who's had it rough? Tell about them at MojosWish.org.

02:29:49 - 02:29:59 | Speaker 3:

A big thank you to our friends from the Imagine Theaters, Clean View Auto Wash, and Red Robin for their amazing donations to Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish.

02:30:00 - 02:30:02 | Speaker 4:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

02:30:03 - 02:30:06 | Speaker 5:

All right, Shannon, with what's going on in the Dirty on the 30, what do you got trending?

02:30:06 - 02:30:58 | Speaker 4:

Well, Adele kicked off her long-awaited Las Vegas residency on Friday night at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace in Vegas, of course, after the original show. She finally did it, huh? Yeah, back in January. I saw lots of people who were there who were lucky enough to be there posting about how beautiful she looked and how great it was. She played songs from across her career, telling fans of the set and the show, it looks just like I imagined it would. It's just perfect. Thank you. Britney Spears deactivated, then reactivated. I just checked her Instagram account yet again, and fans were wondering when she deactivated it if it was related to something that happened last week when her husband Sam was on Instagram Live, and she kind of started getting pissy with him because she didn't want to join him listen to this i'm always live because you're always live

02:30:58 - 02:31:13 | Speaker 1:

always live can i show you or no huh can i show you show me what i'm alive what are you talking about should i turn the camera i don't need to see anything i know but you're always live i'm always live i'm gonna jump in i have nothing to say i don't want to talk to them right now

02:31:13 - 02:31:20 | Speaker 5:

this is what's called instagram live but we're ending it now so have a good night wowie super

02:31:20 - 02:31:28 | Speaker 3:

She's so weird, super awkward. Also, why wouldn't we just turn off the camera? Yeah. But she's back on.

02:31:30 - 02:31:35 | Speaker 5:

Don't you have to tell your friend or lover or whoever you're with?

02:31:35 - 02:31:36 | Speaker 3:

If it's an Instagram live.

02:31:36 - 02:31:38 | Speaker 5:

If you're an Instagram live or Facebook live.

02:31:38 - 02:31:47 | Speaker 2:

I hate when people just walk up to me and they're recording and they're like, Hey, say hi to Spike. And I'm like, I don't know who this is, who you're broadcasting to. I hate when people do.

02:31:47 - 02:31:56 | Speaker 5:

In our hallway, you'll get that sometimes with the other radio guys. Yeah. Yeah, they'll all like, you're like, yeah, great. One time I want to look and go, F you, and move out of the way.

02:31:57 - 02:33:01 | Speaker 4:

I know this was big news over the weekend. I didn't grow up watching the Power Rangers, but I know a lot of you did. The actor who played the green and later the white Power Ranger is dead. Actor Jason David Frank, he was just 49 years old, and there are whispers that he took his own life, and that's how he died. He survived by his wife and four little kids. Janae Aiko and Big Sean have expanded their family. They welcomed a baby boy they named Noah. The little guy was born back on November 8th, but obviously now they're just sharing. They posted such a cute photo on Instagram. And Big Sean writing, after 24 hours of labor, a lunar eclipse with rain from the beginning of labor till he was born, he's here, safe and sound, happy, healthy, and everything we could ever ask for and more. Al Roker, if you watch the Today Show, you might have noticed he's been missing. He explained why he's been absent from the show as of late. He's had a blood clot in his leg, which then sent some clots into his lungs. I know is the reason. He wrote to fans that he's now on the way to recovery and hopes to see everybody very soon.

02:33:02 - 02:33:03 | Speaker 5:

We had a friend that just died of a blood clot.

02:33:04 - 02:33:05 | Speaker 4:

It's really scary. Yeah.

02:33:05 - 02:33:05 | Speaker 5:

Scary.

02:33:05 - 02:33:21 | Speaker 4:

And lastly, Michigan's Blake Corum. Less than 24 hours after the running back was injured on a run before halftime of the Wolverines' final home game against Illinois, He was out donating Thanksgiving turkeys and Thanksgiving meals for a second straight year. Is he okay?

02:33:21 - 02:33:23 | Speaker 5:

Was he on his two feet walking?

02:33:23 - 02:33:26 | Speaker 4:

It looked like he was on his two feet on the Twitter video that I saw.

02:33:27 - 02:33:28 | Speaker 5:

A lot of people worried about him.

02:33:28 - 02:33:34 | Speaker 4:

This was something that he was inspired to do after spending time with kids at a summer camp in Ipsy, actually.

02:33:35 - 02:33:59 | Speaker 6:

Thank you, guys. I came for a summer camp, and it was a great camp. You know, kids were out here playing soccer. We were tossing the football. You know, just this community all together. You know, I saw the kids just come together and enjoy it. And I'm like, shoot, what can I do besides, you know, be at the camp? What can I do at Thanksgiving or Christmas to give back to them? Because it was awesome, you know, seeing the kids smile, seeing them just have fun.

02:33:59 - 02:34:04 | Speaker 5:

You could hear a pin drop in the big house on Saturday when he went down with that injury.

02:34:04 - 02:34:05 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

02:34:05 - 02:34:09 | Speaker 5:

So what did they, it looked like it might be what, just a bruise or something?

02:34:09 - 02:34:14 | Speaker 2:

Well, they were just worried about his knee, but he did walk off into the tunnel on his own weight.

02:34:14 - 02:34:17 | Speaker 5:

So, I wonder, like, one play, and then that was it.

02:34:18 - 02:34:24 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I think they're just keeping it for safety to make sure they have them for Ohio State where we really need them. They were just keeping them on the bench.

02:34:24 - 02:34:27 | Speaker 4:

Hey, for all of today's dirty, check out the Dirty Fates on TheDoingTheMorning.com.

02:34:30 - 02:34:35 | Speaker 2:

This is the home of the Dirty on the 30. Fault Cams. In War of the Roses. Mojo in the Morning.

02:34:38 - 02:34:43 | Speaker 5:

KP, I saw you're hanging out with some friends over the weekend. How was your weekend? This is KP, by the way, our producer.

02:34:43 - 02:35:00 | Speaker 1:

or how was uh how was the weekend it was good it was a lot of fun i feel like like this morning when i woke up it should have been sunday that's how quick it went by it was super super weird um but yeah i had a good weekend um went out for a friend's birthday super fun in royal oak had a

02:35:00 - 02:35:42 | Speaker 3:

funny guy come up to me and was being super weird but he was entertaining so it's a good weekend what do you mean by that super weird um he was just a funny guy like we were hanging out and um he just uh made eye contact with me at the table and he kept coming up and asking me like kind of random questions he's like you want to play darts i'm like oh no i'm good i'm gonna finish my drink and then like 15 minutes later it comes back and he's like are you bad at darts is that why you don't want to like play with me like do you know how to play darts and i'm like oh buddy pal the best part about it was um i asked him i'm like why do you have a single glove on your hand you have a winter glove on inside the bar and he looks like oh i didn't even realize i had this on him i am holding it for a friend just i just had one you just had one glove yeah i was like bro you're

02:35:42 - 02:35:47 | Speaker 2:

giving me like he's like a funny guy he's always he's a funny guy yeah yeah i was like you're

02:35:47 - 02:36:03 | Speaker 3:

giving me ted bundy vibes right now oh my god so that was my weekend but um i had a friend tell me something really funny about a tiktok trend that she tried this past weekend and i'm skeptical of course because it's so ridiculous uh i'm sure you guys have seen like the weird tiktok trends

02:36:03 - 02:36:13 | Speaker 6:

people it's so amazing to me how many people will injure themselves following the dumb trends and even though it all you have to do is say it out loud and it sounds stupid and deadly but

02:36:13 - 02:36:48 | Speaker 3:

they'll still do it people still try it you want to go viral yeah so there's there's this one that's going around well there's a couple but this one she she started feeling sick and she learned that if she cuts up potatoes and puts the peels or like the cut up potato inside of her socks and she sleeps with it that it'll prevent you from getting sick or it'll help you to heal faster she legit slept with potato peels on her feet through the entire night i feel like that's just an old wives deal did it work i have no idea because i mean listen dr jerry over at the ideal

02:36:48 - 02:36:57 | Speaker 4:

health center talks about grounding all the time walking around barefoot but that is legit yeah i understand i mean there are so many different that's legit but why is potato peel that's what

02:36:57 - 02:37:14 | Speaker 3:

i'm saying like isn't that it says so the feet are covered in access points that's what google says whatever that means it's like a spiritual thing which are like a force energy life force energy so i don't know how true that is i don't know too much about like this you could also use

02:37:14 - 02:37:19 | Speaker 6:

onions they said which much safer this is somebody trying to just invent something and see how far

02:37:19 - 02:37:48 | Speaker 5:

how many people i don't know i mean i am all about like those home like homeopathic home remedies but eating a potato you can get your potassium and your magnesium and your vitamins but you don't absorb it through your feet this doesn't seem as stupid to me as the one we talked about last week like people taping their mouths shut when they're sleeping yes like that's ridiculous this like is silly but at least it's not going to harm you and better than eating tide pods i mean you're to smell like mashed potatoes right cinnamon challenge like the cinnamon challenge yeah

02:37:48 - 02:37:53 | Speaker 4:

exactly yeah i mean this worked this seems more harmless than than other stuff that people do on

02:37:53 - 02:37:59 | Speaker 3:

tiktok uh so i would forget that i had potatoes in my sex probably and like wake up and like trip

02:37:59 - 02:38:12 | Speaker 4:

and fall that is one that is one way to mash your potatoes right if you just have a bunch of potato peels and stuff which by the way to me is the most tedious part of making mashed potatoes is peeling the potatoes. Yeah, it's arm day.

02:38:12 - 02:38:13 | Speaker 5:

Don't peel them.

02:38:14 - 02:38:14 | Speaker 4:

What's that?

02:38:14 - 02:38:19 | Speaker 5:

Don't peel them. I don't peel mine perfectly. I like having a little bit of skin in there.

02:38:19 - 02:38:39 | Speaker 4:

We don't do that in our house. That's bad. We want them nice and we want them all like- Nakey. We don't know. And also Chelsea mashes them or does them in the machine to keep them so that no lumps, no lumps. My dad and mom, we used to have lumps in ours. It was awful. Nobody would eat them. What's up, Lena?

02:38:40 - 02:38:52 | Speaker 2:

Hi, I texted in and I just wanted to say that when I was younger and I had a fever, one of my aunts like cut potatoes and put them on the bottom of my feet to remove the fever. It's like an old wives tale, I guess.

02:38:53 - 02:38:54 | Speaker 5:

Really? And did it work? Would it work for you?

02:38:55 - 02:38:57 | Speaker 2:

It did, surprisingly.

02:38:57 - 02:39:00 | Speaker 6:

Or your fever just went away like they do. They come and go in waves.

02:39:00 - 02:39:09 | Speaker 4:

I don't know. I would never doubt this stuff. By the way, this sounds like a very Chaldean mom type thing to do. Because for some reason, a lot of my Chaldean friends, their moms always make them do things like this.

02:39:09 - 02:39:18 | Speaker 2:

similar like albanian so it's okay yeah yeah yeah there's a lot of a lot of times the in the old

02:39:18 - 02:39:25 | Speaker 4:

country this is what they'll do certain things right absolutely yeah try that thing out all

02:39:25 - 02:39:45 | Speaker 1:

right thank you for the call what's up amanda hi hi what's up um i was just commenting on the whole The potatoes and onions thing I mean I'm not crediting it Like saying that it maybe works But anything can be absorbed through the skin I was just commenting on Spike's comment But

02:39:45 - 02:39:50 | Speaker 6:

When you see the calluses On the bottom of my feet Nothing's being absorbed

02:39:50 - 02:39:59 | Speaker 1:

Anything that touches the skin Gets to your bloodstream eventually It takes time Even things like sunscreen

02:39:59 - 02:40:29 | Unknown:

Thank you.

02:40:00 - 02:40:03 | Speaker 3:

anything. It all goes to your bloodstream. People

02:40:03 - 02:40:11 | Speaker 2:

are texting that the potatoes turn black as they draw out the sickness. That's literally gross. Or do they just rot

02:40:11 - 02:40:17 | Speaker 1:

on the bottom of your body? Right. Or they're like, you're out oxidizing. I'm kind of fascinated. That's like putting bananas on your hand

02:40:17 - 02:40:23 | Speaker 6:

and being like, they turned brown. That's what they do. Ryan's done the onion part. You've done the onion one?

02:40:24 - 02:40:42 | Speaker 4:

I've heard of it done. I think I might have done it when I was younger once, but I know there's facts to onions removing toxins, bad smells, things from just the air. Like sometimes I'll put an onion out and it removes the bad smell from the air. So I know that if you put them on the bottom of your feet and the tail that it will remove toxins, and I'm pretty sure that's kind of true.

02:40:42 - 02:40:46 | Speaker 6:

I used to have a friend of mine that used to eat garlic. Like he would eat raw garlic.

02:40:46 - 02:40:50 | Speaker 2:

Well, you could take pills for that. Like that hard garlic. Garlic. Garlic, that's right.

02:40:50 - 02:40:58 | Speaker 6:

But he would eat raw garlic and it would get him better when he was not feeling good. The guy had not a girlfriend ever in his life because of that.

02:40:58 - 02:41:02 | Speaker 1:

Did he say he leaves onions out to take away the bad smells? That's what he said?

02:41:02 - 02:41:02 | Speaker 6:

I think so.

02:41:03 - 02:41:05 | Speaker 1:

But that just replaces the bad smell with the new bad smell. Yeah.

02:41:06 - 02:41:08 | Speaker 6:

Everything's relative, though, right after that.

02:41:08 - 02:41:22 | Speaker 2:

The pumpkin spice in a movie got in Hamtramck was not as advertised. Would not recommend. We asked for oat milk. Happy Thanksgiving from Mojo in the Morning. Go ahead and laugh at Spice World Famous Phone Scam. But are you next?

02:41:23 - 02:41:40 | Speaker 6:

On Mojo in the Morning. Time now for a phone scam. We are going to do a phone scam this morning on Darren. Darren is the manager of a home improvement store. Spike is going to call about a defective product that he bought at the store. It's a Mojo in the Morning phone scam.

02:41:40 - 02:41:50 | Speaker 2:

We will, we will scam you. Sorry, it's a catchy song. It's your home of phone scams. Mojo in the Morning.

02:41:53 - 02:42:02 | Speaker 3:

Well, hello. Is Darren there, please? Give me one second. Thank you.

02:42:02 - 02:42:09 | Speaker 5:

In up to 36 months, no interest financing on a qualifying ring system. Is it Modern Comfort System? This is Darren.

02:42:10 - 02:42:20 | Speaker 3:

Hello, Darren. I'm calling about some hedge clippers I bought at your store. I think they cause injury, and they're dangerous, so I should let you know.

02:42:22 - 02:42:26 | Speaker 5:

Okay. Is this a return? Go ahead and come on in. Just bring the receipt.

02:42:26 - 02:42:57 | Speaker 3:

Well, let me tell you what happened. My wife has one of those stupid air fryers, and she's running that and her Peloton bike, and she's got the TV blasting at top volume, and next thing you know, the power goes out at our house. So I go outside, and I climb up on the pole, Darren, and I say two wires, and it looked like they were touching. So what I did was I took my hedge clippers that I bought at your store, so I clipped one of them with your hedge clippers.

02:42:58 - 02:43:00 | Speaker 5:

Which hedge clippers are you talking about, sir?

02:43:00 - 02:43:11 | Speaker 3:

I got the cordless green machine with the 25-inch dual-action cutting blade and a rapid-charge battery, and it was a big flash of light like an explosion.

02:43:13 - 02:43:13 | Speaker 5:

Oh.

02:43:13 - 02:43:15 | Speaker 3:

Huh? I can't hear you.

02:43:16 - 02:43:18 | Speaker 5:

I didn't say anything. You touched the electric wires?

02:43:19 - 02:43:43 | Speaker 3:

Well, I didn't touch them, no. I used the hedge clippers that I bought at your store, so I was like three feet away when I clipped them. But there was a big explosion when I cut the wires. So it pushed me backwards, and I fell off the pole, and I'm laying on the grass, and it feels like I've broken my back in about four different places. But maybe that's just because I landed in our rock garden.

02:43:44 - 02:43:49 | Speaker 5:

Sir, have you called an ambulance, or have you gotten medical attention?

02:43:49 - 02:43:51 | Speaker 3:

Huh? I can't hear you.

02:43:52 - 02:43:54 | Speaker 5:

Have you called an ambulance, sir?

02:43:54 - 02:44:17 | Speaker 3:

Well, no, I called you guys there. But anyway, now it looks like the whole neighborhood is dark. And if I tell you Wally is going to be so mad at me, he lives down on the corner and he always watches Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. And if he doesn't have power and he looks out the window and sees me holding these hedge clippers laying here with my hair on fire, he's going to come out and beat me two ways from Sunday.

02:44:17 - 02:44:21 | Speaker 5:

I would definitely advise you to call 911.

02:44:22 - 02:44:44 | Speaker 3:

Well, you're the one that sold me these hedge clippers. Can you come out and get the power fixed? Well, I think really... And also, if Wally sees you here when you're fixing, tell him that a bird or a squirrel was messing with the wire or something so he doesn't get mad at me. I, uh... Oh, I smell gas.

02:44:45 - 02:44:49 | Speaker 5:

If you're smelling gas, you should leave the area immediately.

02:44:49 - 02:45:25 | Speaker 3:

No, no, it's just my own gas. So you can come help me get the power back on? Oh, that call did not go as long as I thought I would. we will we will scam you if i could say anything i wanted to i'd say that was funny right there i don't care who you are it's the home of the world famous phone scams this is mojo in the morning live

02:45:30 - 02:45:47 | Speaker 2:

it's mojo in the morning so we went to our friends for a friendsgiving which by the way i hate friendsgivings even though i love turkey well because well first off i'll tell you the story about what happened at their house and then secondly i'll give you my theory on friends

02:45:47 - 02:45:56 | Speaker 1:

givings coming up here there were so many of those yesterday oh people were having them all weekend yeah i was at an early one and the person had to leave they had two more friendsgivings

02:45:56 - 02:46:59 | Speaker 2:

later that night yeah it's like crazy well we went to our friend andrea's house and it was a bunch of us that were there and she decided she was going to host this year and um she's she's actually a good cook but uh she decided she was going to try to keep it as clean as possible and then there was stuffing on the ceiling and that's all i will say um she was pulling the turkey she's one of those that does um the stuffing in the bird's ass like she puts the stuffing which i think is the proper way to do it because it gets all the grease and juices oh god from the juices from the uh the turkey on the stuffing and you pull it right out of the butthole and it's just honestly it's delicious when you do that right yes um so she was pulling the turkey and the stuffing out of the oven and she was using one of those disposable tin foil pans. They have them at Kroger's and Meyers and stuff where you just throw it away right afterwards.

02:46:59 - 02:47:05 | Speaker 3:

It's the greatest thing ever. It is the best. Especially with something like a turkey where you're scrubbing that pan

02:47:05 - 02:47:07 | Speaker 2:

for a half hour. Yeah, soaking it

02:47:07 - 02:47:09 | Speaker 1:

for days, right? You can use those for

02:47:09 - 02:47:13 | Speaker 2:

turkey? They actually have one that's meant for a turkey. But it's

02:47:13 - 02:47:15 | Speaker 1:

It's so thin, and the turkey's 28 pounds.

02:47:16 - 02:47:41 | Speaker 2:

Well, here's the problem, though. They have different ways to do it so that it's not what happens to her, but she pulls the turkey out of the oven and the thing, and she's holding it from the ends with the pothold or the wormers, and as she's pulling it out, the turkey literally is so heavy, like Spike said, it causes the thing to kind of go center and completely fold up like an accordion.

02:47:42 - 02:47:42 | Speaker 1:

Oh, no.

02:47:42 - 02:48:21 | Speaker 2:

Causing then the turkey to fall out, and then everything just to splatter all over the place. On the ceiling, on the floor, on the cabinets. I mean, there was, first of all, let me tell you this. There was less stuffing in the bird's butthole after this thing and more stuffing on the ceiling than ever before. And the craziest is we're all standing around. You know how people get where they're really, really hungry, and they just stand around, and the poor person who's cooking has to, you know, have like an audience while this is going on. And we're all standing around and all of a sudden I hear one person, and it was John, screams, Boston Market?

02:48:23 - 02:48:30 | Speaker 3:

Wait a second, though. Did anybody still eat the turkey and the stuffing? Oh, yeah, absolutely. Okay, I was going to say, I'd be still eating.

02:48:30 - 02:49:34 | Speaker 2:

There was not as much stuffing. There was not as much. And here's the thing. I couldn't have the stuffing because it was not gluten-free stuffing. But I ate the turkey. I was like, and actually, to be honest with you, my favorite part of a turkey is the skin of the turkey. I love it when it's crispy and stuff on the outside. Do you guys like that at all, or do you guys cut that right off? Oh, I like it. It's my favorite. So, yeah. Oh, yeah, we did that. But they were all upset. They're like, you know, I felt so bad for her. She did such a great job. It was honestly so sweet that she hosted it and did all this stuff. You know?

02:49:34 - 02:49:35 | Speaker 3:

It's a good theory.

02:49:35 - 02:49:50 | Speaker 1:

Well, remember, the origin of Friendsgiving was for people that weren't going to see their family. They didn't have family around. So college kids would all get together and do Friendsgiving. But it usually tends to be someone who hasn't had as many Thanksgivings of cooking. Yeah. A little inexperienced.

02:49:50 - 02:50:28 | Speaker 2:

Like a test run or something. And then what I think what's caused for people to not like turkey, because nobody – Gen Z's, X's, and Y's. and every gens don't like turkey anymore for some reason people don't like turkey and i know that they keep talking about the price of turkey and what turkey is but i can't get my 20 something sons or my 17 year old son to want to eat a turkey i'm the only one in my house my wife doesn't like turkey they all like honey baked hams and and uh they all want like can we have a steak i'm like no we got a steak we're not having a steak have you ever looked at a thanksgiving picture and

02:50:28 - 02:50:47 | Speaker 1:

seen a steak on the table remember we've been telling people how crazy i know turkeys are this year because of the asian bird flu wiping out the whole population so yesterday my niece and nephew brought their turkey to the dinner and i was like oh this is huge where'd you get this turkey he's my brother's front yard and it was exactly what we talked about on the air last week

02:50:47 - 02:50:52 | Speaker 4:

yeah how there's so many turkeys walking around wait but are those no you can't eat those yeah

02:50:52 - 02:50:58 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, he killed a turkey. Well, he lives out in rural Howell, so maybe there's bigger, fatter turkeys out there.

02:50:59 - 02:51:04 | Speaker 2:

But it was a huge turkey. I would be afraid that the turkey has like E. coli. Or not E. coli. Why?

02:51:04 - 02:51:08 | Speaker 1:

It's a natural turkey. I mean, I don't know if he knew if it had bird flu or something.

02:51:08 - 02:51:13 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. Well, I would think that that's a city turkey.

02:51:13 - 02:51:28 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's kind of hanging out on the side of the road. Yeah. It's out in the country. What do you think happens to the turkey? That's the turkey you guys are cooking? What do you think happens to the turkeys that are farm-raised that you guys eat? a lovely life. They are like shoved in a little pen that's about 12 inches by 12 inches pooping on each other.

02:51:28 - 02:51:31 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. Spike, I don't know if I'd eat that thing. I would. Yeah, the turkeys

02:51:31 - 02:51:35 | Speaker 4:

he's eaten is probably roadkill like on the side of the road or old. Yeah.

02:51:36 - 02:51:43 | Speaker 2:

That's better. Yeah, exactly. I think it's... It wasn't roadkill. Those turkeys got the smog from the big city. I don't know

02:51:43 - 02:51:50 | Speaker 1:

if I want them. No, he's out in the rural area. Really? It's not near the city. And where is he again? Howell? Way out in Howell, Pinkney.

02:51:50 - 02:51:58 | Speaker 2:

Howl or Pinky? Oh, my God. You're going to eat one of those turkeys? It's funny. I see a lot of them these days. They're, like, running through my neighborhood. I don't even live there.

02:51:58 - 02:52:04 | Speaker 1:

Everybody said it was the best turkey they had forever because there's no preservatives, no additives. It was just walking around this earth about a week ago.

02:52:04 - 02:52:13 | Speaker 4:

I used to think it was so sad to eat turkeys until you meet a wild turkey. And those are the meanest creatures in the entire world that deserve to be eaten.

02:52:13 - 02:52:16 | Speaker 2:

I've threatened those turkeys. I'm going to eat you if you don't get high.

02:52:16 - 02:52:17 | Unknown:

I would never do it.

02:52:17 - 02:52:24 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, those things will attack you if you're not careful. But, Brandon, what's up? It's Mojo in the Morning Show.

02:52:25 - 02:52:31 | Speaker 3:

My girlfriend's dad is actually raising a turkey in his backyard right now. We've been raising it for the last couple weeks.

02:52:31 - 02:52:35 | Speaker 1:

Are you laughing at these guys that are saying, oh, it might have touched a road?

02:52:35 - 02:52:41 | Speaker 2:

Where are you calling from? What town? Oxford. Really? And they raised turkeys there?

02:52:42 - 02:52:47 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, he got it from his front. His name is Dave, actually. Dave, wait, the turkey's name is Dave?

02:52:48 - 02:52:48 | Speaker 2:

He's got a turkey.

02:52:48 - 02:52:50 | Speaker 4:

Once it's got a name, you can't eat it.

02:52:50 - 02:52:55 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I agree with you. Well, no, no, I can't eat it. Me personally, I can't since it's got a name and everything.

02:52:55 - 02:53:03 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. I don't know. I'm telling you. That would scare the crap. I'd never be able to talk to another Dave ever again. What's up, Hannah?

02:53:04 - 02:53:15 | Speaker 4:

Hey, so I turkey hunt, and I just, I'm so, you guys think that the birds that we buy in the store are, like, better than the ones that you can get, like, organically outside?

02:53:15 - 02:53:15 | Speaker 1:

Right.

02:53:15 - 02:53:23 | Speaker 4:

It's not. I just feel like at least we know that they're out there. You don't know if they give them shots and they give them all sorts of stuff.

02:53:24 - 02:53:28 | Speaker 2:

I want mine to be vaccinated. I want my turkeys to have vaccines.

02:53:28 - 02:53:41 | Speaker 1:

Did you ever pick up the turkey? Did you ever order a turkey from a farm and pick it up? I have. No, I'm asking Mojo. You used to go pick one out, didn't you? I used to go pick one out and it ruined me when I see that. It's scary. Yeah.

02:53:41 - 02:53:56 | Speaker 2:

My grandpa, my grandpa Daly, actually lived on a turkey farm. And for Thanksgiving every single year, we used to have to make him a steak and a baked potato because he would not. As a kid, that was his job was to wrangle up turkeys. So it was a bad deal.

02:53:56 - 02:54:02 | Speaker 1:

You thought it's because he cared for the turkeys. It's because he saw how they had 700 turkeys shoved on a half acre pooping on each other, eating their own poop.

02:54:03 - 02:54:07 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that would probably do me in, too, if I was living on a farm. Brendan, what's up?

02:54:07 - 02:54:12 | Speaker 3:

Wild turkey is the best turkey to eat Way better than

02:54:12 - 02:54:14 | Speaker 2:

Come on, better than a butterball?

02:54:16 - 02:54:16 | Speaker 3:

Oh yeah

02:54:16 - 02:54:23 | Speaker 2:

But you can't call the butterball hotline If you have any issues trying to prepare it True Yeah

02:54:23 - 02:54:24 | Speaker 3:

You guys have to try it

02:54:24 - 02:54:37 | Speaker 2:

I don't know To me, a wild turkey that's like roaming the streets That we see I don't know if I'm going to do it Like would you eat Let me ask you this Would you eat one of the deer that Like venison from a deer that was just sitting in your front yard

02:54:37 - 02:54:43 | Speaker 1:

yes i would oh you're crazy what do you mean sitting in your front yard it's not roadkill

02:54:43 - 02:54:48 | Speaker 2:

it's a living creature i know but i wouldn't i wouldn't kill it that'd be like eating somebody's

02:54:48 - 02:54:52 | Speaker 1:

dog i don't know i just wouldn't do rather have it electrocuted in a factory and processed by

02:54:52 - 02:55:00 | Speaker 2:

machines and sitting on a shelf for six i'd rather have it know that a guy got it up north in some like quaint little Michigan. This is what I'm telling you.

02:55:01 - 02:55:03 | Speaker 3:

The story in my head is good. I'm just going to go with that.

02:55:03 - 02:55:12 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. I don't want a Waterford turkey. No offense to Waterford, but I don't want one of yours. What's up, Annette?

02:55:13 - 02:55:41 | Speaker 4:

Hey, good morning, guys. So I live in Detroit, and about maybe 30 years ago, my mom and my dad bought a live turkey from, you know, the little bird market. We had that turkey maybe about a week before Thanksgiving, so we thought it was a pet. Oh, no. The night before Thanksgiving, they killed the turkeys. And, of course, you know, the Thanksgiving day, we did not eat the turkey because we felt like, oh, my God, we just ate our pet birds.

02:55:45 - 02:55:46 | Speaker 2:

Traumatizing, isn't it, isn't it?

02:55:46 - 02:55:50 | Speaker 1:

Yes. I don't think you could do that when you have little kids in the house.

02:55:51 - 02:55:53 | Speaker 2:

Exactly. Thank you for the call. Happy Thanksgiving.

02:55:54 - 02:56:38 | Speaker 3:

Did I tell you guys that my family adopted a turkey for my sister? Yeah, what's the turkey's name? Roberto, you guys, you guys. So my sister, Emily is vegan. So she, she doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving anyway, but just because of personal beliefs, but she doesn't eat meat obviously. So her birthday is November 11th. So every year for her birthday, she asks us to adopt a turkey. So this year we got Roberto. He comes with a little, like a certificate with his story about what he, what he likes to do. His personality is curious and chatty. His favorite pastime is exploring the pasture. He lives at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, New York. I mean, he has like a whole, look at the pictures they send you of Roberto. Do you get to FaceTime him?

02:56:38 - 02:56:38 | Speaker 1:

Like, how do you know he's real?

02:56:38 - 02:56:39 | Speaker 3:

I don't know.

02:56:39 - 02:56:55 | Speaker 1:

Right. Everybody gets that same picture the last eight years of Roberto. But the other thing, she's not telling everybody. But he's curious and chatty. They adopt a turkey, but they still buy and kill and eat another turkey. Your sister just doesn't know about that. That's true. It's the second date update on Mojo in the Morning.

02:56:55 - 02:57:24 | Speaker 2:

02:57:26 - 02:57:48 | Speaker 5:

Well, I text him about this week because I was telling him that, you know, well, he stopped texting me like two days ago because I text him that I was having, you know, my family's having Thanksgiving this week. And I was like, if you want, we can work around our schedules and figure out your family Thanksgiving too. And then I didn't hear anything after that.

02:57:48 - 02:57:53 | Speaker 2:

This is not a, okay, went on one date and done. How many dates have you guys been on with each other?

02:57:54 - 02:58:17 | Speaker 5:

Well, technically, we've only been on two dates, but we've been talking for weeks. We talk multiple times a day. Like, it's been nonstop. So, and then it just kind of felt like an abrupt halt, you know? And it just feels really weird. It's just not how we've been communicating. Yeah. So, it's just, I mean, I don't know. I just feel like something weird is happening. You know what I mean?

02:58:18 - 02:58:26 | Speaker 2:

We're going to find out what's going on. Erin is on with us. Erin, are you okay with your voice on the radio? Yeah. So, Aaron, say hi to Sam.

02:58:27 - 02:58:30 | Speaker 6:

Hi, Sam. Hey.

02:58:30 - 02:58:38 | Speaker 2:

Are you just busy, and that's why you haven't been real responsive the last couple of days?

02:58:41 - 02:58:45 | Speaker 6:

You mean, like, why?

02:58:45 - 02:58:47 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, why you're ghosting her texts.

02:58:48 - 02:59:18 | Speaker 6:

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. she, she, she had texted about Thanksgiving. Okay. Yeah. And it was, I mean, she was just asking about, you know, just getting together at a holiday and I was like, girl, we've only been, we've been only on a couple of dates. I don't do that. So wait, so really? So what,

02:59:18 - 02:59:21 | Speaker 2:

What exactly was the text that you sent, Samantha?

02:59:22 - 02:59:32 | Speaker 5:

I just said, hey, you know, my family's having Thanksgiving. If you want, we can work around scheduling, you know, his family and my family Thanksgiving, too, so that we could go to both.

02:59:33 - 02:59:42 | Speaker 2:

And, Erin, you guys, you say you've only been on two dates with each other. She did admit that to us. Did you guys fool around at all, Samantha?

02:59:43 - 02:59:43 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

02:59:45 - 02:59:49 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Samantha, did you guys fool around on these dates?

02:59:51 - 03:00:00 | Speaker 5:

I mean, yeah, we slept together twice, so I thought that this was like a thing, you know? And we talked all the time, so I didn't think that this—I thought it would just—

03:00:00 - 03:00:26 | Speaker 4:

theological thing that we would do thanksgiving together you hear that text though she's like uh we can work around your family too if you aren't with the assumption this is what i can't stand it's like the assumption that we're gonna do thanksgiving and oh my family can get in there too like i what are you talking about i'll send you a text we can keep talking don't take the holiday to try to move in and get something crazy going this is just too much so

03:00:26 - 03:00:46 | Speaker 3:

I mean, I understand that what she's asking is a lot very, very soon. You're kind of treating her like a jerk. You could have just said we're not, like, you could have just politely said no. I'm not interested in doing that, but I'm still interested in seeing you.

03:00:47 - 03:01:07 | Speaker 4:

I was on your side until you just talked. Yeah, until a girl comes in there and she's like, oh, we can, without any warning, without any, and she just assumes Thanksgiving's happening. Right, that's a lot. I understand that. I understand that. Yeah, it's not only just a lot, it's a sign. It's a sign that the thing that's happening inside the girl's head is not going to work out in the long run.

03:01:07 - 03:01:29 | Speaker 1:

Man, you really took that to extremes. Wow. Okay, so just a quick question to the listeners on this one here. Is Samantha in the wrong for assuming that they were going to spend holidays together, or is Aaron in the wrong for... Being an A-hole. Being, yeah, a little harsh there. Although, listen, I'm looking up at the...

03:01:29 - 03:01:33 | Speaker 3:

I understand where he's coming from. He could have just said it in a nicer way.

03:01:33 - 03:01:38 | Speaker 1:

Our texts are saying some scary things about Samantha, though. What's up, Bailey? Hi.

03:01:39 - 03:01:54 | Speaker 5:

Hey, so I just wanted to say maybe she was a little rushy on that, just because I personally see things very, very slow. But I don't think his response was very appropriate. I think that she deserves a guy that is going to be much better to her in the long run.

03:01:55 - 03:02:30 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. He should be nicer about what he just said. Maybe that's the thing that you, Aaron, you kind of missed out on is the fact that for you to talk the way that you did just a second ago about Samantha, just making maybe just an mistake, an honest assumption mistake about you guys spending the holidays together. I don't know. Mojo in the morning, second date update. Hi, what's going on? Your comments? Oh, we've got a bad Oh, look at these lines That sounded like me After having a Friendsgiving the other day What's going on, Stephanie?

03:02:31 - 03:02:32 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, hi

03:02:32 - 03:02:33 | Speaker 1:

Hey, what's up?

03:02:34 - 03:02:42 | Speaker 8:

I was trying to say that it's really easy to get Excited about relationships and stuff And he could have easily been like That's a little too fast, let's just keep dating

03:02:42 - 03:02:46 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that would have been A nicer way of probably putting it, Erin

03:02:46 - 03:02:55 | Speaker 4:

What's up? A girl that goes on two dates It assumes that we're going to do Thanksgiving cheese. Sausage and cheese McMuffins.

03:02:55 - 03:02:59 | Speaker 1:

I'm sorry. That sounds good. I'm sorry. Listener Rachel is ordering a sausage and cheese McMuffin.

03:02:59 - 03:03:00 | Speaker 6:

I am. I'm sorry.

03:03:01 - 03:03:07 | Speaker 1:

That's okay. Hold on. We'll let you finish there. What's up? What's up, Rachel?

03:03:08 - 03:03:19 | Speaker 6:

I don't know. I really feel like it's too soon. It's like a person meeting kids. Like, I don't let anybody meet my kids until six months to a year later of being in a relationship.

03:03:19 - 03:03:23 | Speaker 1:

So no holidays within a couple of weeks of being with each other

03:03:23 - 03:03:30 | Speaker 6:

No, no whatsoever Pull around to the first window, please

03:03:30 - 03:03:40 | Speaker 1:

Thank you so much Stephanie, this happened to you? Or Stephen, I'm sorry, this happened to you? Close, Stephen Stephen, I apologize, we'll try them all What's going on?

03:03:41 - 03:04:23 | Speaker 2:

Nah, pretty good, how you doing? So I can kind of relate Because I'm actually in a new relationship too And we've only gone on a couple dates and my mom actually was the one to suggest like oh you should invite her over we're doing a family dinner and i remember being like ah i think it's too soon you know it's uh it is a lot to ask but to shannon's point i think he was just a little uh harsh about his response yes intense is a great word yeah yeah it's you know it's just too harsh you know it's a simple no can work i know that's kind of hard to for some people just to say no but at the same time it's so much more Rude, just a ghost or do what he's Doing, so I was Siding with him at first, but like you said, it's just I mean A harsh reaction

03:04:23 - 03:04:32 | Speaker 1:

Thank you for the call, Mel Hi Mel, what's happening Uh oh

03:04:32 - 03:04:34 | Speaker 7:

Hello

03:04:34 - 03:04:35 | Speaker 1:

Yes, hi Mel

03:04:35 - 03:04:57 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, I think that he is terrible Because there's a better way to talk to Someone and let them know that they're moving Too fast, and he did it all the wrong way Like, if you're not there yet, just say, hey, I don't think we're at that point yet for Thanksgiving, but maybe we can hang out over the weekend. Like, you can do stuff in a nicer way, and I feel like he shouldn't date anyone with that attitude.

03:04:58 - 03:04:59 | Speaker 1:

Mel, what were you giggling at beforehand?

03:05:00 - 03:05:02 | Speaker 5:

What you were laughing at sounds like it would have been fun to hear.

03:05:04 - 03:05:05 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I was just saying like he was like,

03:05:06 - 03:05:08 | Speaker 3:

I'm glad we asked.

03:05:10 - 03:05:15 | Speaker 5:

I was wondering what the giggle was about, though. All right. Thank you, Mel. I appreciate that.

03:05:15 - 03:05:20 | Speaker 3:

We all agree with your sentiment. Virtual in the Morning's Top Trending Stories. All right.

03:05:20 - 03:05:56 | Speaker 5:

Top Trending Stories of the day. Tragedy this weekend. Again, another senseless mass shooting that took place. This time in Colorado Springs, five dead, 25 hurt in a Colorado Springs gay nightclub. And the police are coming out to say there could have been even more deaths if it wasn't for the heroic acts of some of the patrons and people that worked at this LGBTQ bar that was there. Take a listen to this report from ABC News.

03:05:56 - 03:06:13 | Speaker 4:

This morning, authorities in Colorado urgently investigating that deadly shooting at the LGBTQ nightclub over the weekend. 92 Battalion 4, reports of 10 people shot. Let's make this a mass casualty. It was a mass casualty event, leaving five dead, dozens wounded.

03:06:13 - 03:06:26 | Speaker 2:

I was bartending, making drinks, and then I heard like a pop, pop, pop. Once I looked up and I saw the shadow of a grown man wielding a rifle. Those 911 calls pouring in.

03:06:27 - 03:06:48 | Speaker 4:

At 11.57 p.m., within seconds of those first calls, Colorado Springs Police dispatching officers. By midnight, the first officer arriving at the scene, and by 12.02 a.m., five minutes after that first call, the suspect in custody. Authorities say the suspect was armed with an assault rifle and another gun, and he carried multiple magazines of ammunition.

03:06:48 - 03:06:50 | Speaker 2:

Glass started just shattering all around me.

03:06:50 - 03:07:22 | Speaker 4:

But the city's police chief telling me two patrons charged the shooter. They risked their lives. They absolutely risked their lives. Heroes, I think. There's no other word for that, right? Absolutely. Police say the suspect, 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich, had burst into Club Q just after it had hosted a drag show that night. Law enforcement is now investigating the massacre as a hate crime. Club Q, known by many here as a safe haven that had served the LGBTQ members of this community for two decades. But the owners say the gunman was a stranger to them.

03:07:22 - 03:07:30 | Speaker 1:

He's never spent money on a credit card. or ID that were scanned in our business that we know of. I think this was a community of target for him.

03:07:31 - 03:07:40 | Speaker 4:

He may not have been known at the club, but he was known to law enforcement. The suspect arrested last June following an alleged bomb threat incident against his mother.

03:07:40 - 03:08:30 | Speaker 5:

Amazing that he was able to even have a gun after that arrest. They're investigating, trying to figure out if there's any motives. He's in custody, but not speaking to police. Another tragedy over the weekend, too. Did you hear about the truck pulling a float that killed a girl at a holiday parade in North Carolina? The truck that was pulling the float ended up running over one of the people that was walking alongside of it. They ended up arresting the driver, 20-year-old Landon Christopher Glass. He was charged with a misdemeanor in the death. And they said that he was using the vehicle improperly. Now they're saying that they think that the vehicle might have had an issue. So they let him out this morning.

03:08:32 - 03:08:33 | Speaker 3:

I thought he did it intentionally.

03:08:33 - 03:08:39 | Speaker 5:

Well, at first I think that they investigated it as that. Now they're saying that there might have been actually a mechanical failure on the vehicle.

03:08:39 - 03:08:50 | Speaker 3:

I was in one of those float cars a long, long time ago in Philadelphia. And I couldn't believe the small slit that they leave for the driver to see the road.

03:08:50 - 03:08:53 | Speaker 5:

And I think this was this was a pickup pulling a float.

03:08:53 - 03:09:03 | Speaker 3:

Oh, OK. So it wasn't like because these this one was like the float was actually the truck with the float was built around the truck. So the truck was driving, but you couldn't. All you saw was the float.

03:09:05 - 03:09:54 | Speaker 5:

This story was wild. I saw it on TMZ. An older couple brutally attacked at the Elton John concert, his finale that he did at Dodger Stadium. One person has now been arrested. It turned out that the 60-plus-year-old man and woman who were sitting in their car ready to get out of Dodger Stadium, a guy came by and hit and knocked the mirror off of the car that the older people were driving. The woman said something to the guy that hit it because he was just going to keep on going. Guy came back and started yelling at the woman. The husband got out of the car to, you know, defend his wife. And then they just beat the crap out of this guy. Like 68 to 70-year-old man right now in the hospital still because of that.

03:09:54 - 03:09:58 | Speaker 3:

You don't expect people to choose violence at an Elton John show.

03:09:58 - 03:09:59 | Speaker 5:

Isn't that kind of crazy?

03:10:00 - 03:10:45 | Speaker 2:

The amazing thing was people are videotaping this entire thing, and nobody's stepping in to help this guy. They're still videotaping. I mean, thank God they did videotape it, because if they didn't videotape it, they probably wouldn't have the actual face of the person and his girlfriend that were walking out. That FTX crypto disaster is now being called worse than Enron. Do you guys remember that Enron thing that took place? Enron was that company that was based out of I think Houston where it was like this mass you know ripping people off scandal they're saying that this thing is going to be even worse than that with which by the way that was so infamous there was like $23 billion bankruptcy that took place with that Enron one they're saying that this one is going to be even more than that

03:10:45 - 03:10:50 | Speaker 4:

is this the one that yes did you watch the video I sent you this weekend

03:10:50 - 03:10:55 | Speaker 2:

I yes No, I didn't. I didn't. What was it? What did you send me?

03:10:56 - 03:11:01 | Speaker 4:

There is a theory, and I want to make it very clear that this is all, like, alleged theory, whatever.

03:11:01 - 03:11:02 | Speaker 1:

Oh, here we go.

03:11:02 - 03:11:11 | Speaker 4:

That part of the reason why they're getting divorced is because of this lawsuit. And that there weren't really issues in their marriage, but they're trying to divide up their assets.

03:11:11 - 03:11:16 | Speaker 2:

Divorced meaning that goofy-looking guy in his...

03:11:16 - 03:11:18 | Speaker 4:

No, Tom Brady and Gisele Bunchen.

03:11:18 - 03:11:23 | Speaker 2:

Oh, Tom Brady and Gisele Bunchen? The divorce is because of this thing?

03:11:23 - 03:11:25 | Speaker 4:

this lawsuit. What? I've got to watch

03:11:25 - 03:11:26 | Speaker 2:

that. Where did you send that?

03:11:29 - 03:11:39 | Speaker 4:

It's a four-part video that I sent to you, so you have to watch the first one, then you have to go watch the other ones. But it's him going to the Bahamas, her going to Costa Rica, the timeline of the summer, why he's been missing Wednesday

03:11:39 - 03:11:45 | Speaker 3:

throughout the year this year. I want to know who these people are that have the time to sit down and do this. That's amazing.

03:11:47 - 03:11:49 | Speaker 2:

No, honestly, I could see. It's just a theory

03:11:49 - 03:11:57 | Speaker 4:

that they're part of the reason why they're getting divorced And she bought a house specifically in Costa Rica, which they call, like, what, the Sweden of South America, is to hide their money. Wow.

03:11:58 - 03:11:59 | Speaker 2:

It would be such a great movie, too, if it's not real.

03:12:00 - 03:12:08 | Speaker 1:

But he's rich. Like, he already has all his money hidden. Those guys hide all that stuff and trust and stuff, so it's protected anyway.

03:12:08 - 03:12:12 | Speaker 2:

They say a lot of these celebrities, though, had money in this FDX crypto thing.

03:12:14 - 03:12:17 | Speaker 4:

And you have to go to the Bahamas to take it out, and that's why he went to the Bahamas.

03:12:17 - 03:13:29 | Speaker 2:

Wow. Did you see who was sentenced this weekend? That Theranos founder, that Elizabeth Holmes, the one that had to fake the voice and everything. She got sentenced to 135 months or more than 11 years in prison because she defrauded investors with that whole medical test using drops of blood. Oh, you know who's getting sentenced today? Actually in a courtroom right now? The Chrisleys. Chrisley knows best. For the tax fraud? They're saying that he could go to jail for tax fraud for like 20 plus years. She could go for like 11 years. so the the the husband and wife team uh in a little bit of hot water and this is a wild story a couple last ones to end on you guys as you prepare for going on vacation do you ever like days or even weeks ahead of time kind of quarantine yourself away from people because you don't want them to get you sick yes half of travelers dodge people for a week to avoid getting sick before a vacation about 48 or so percent of people say they take precautions and stay away from their friends who are their sick friends the friends that are always seem

03:13:29 - 03:13:34 | Speaker 3:

to be sick two of the girls i was holed up in a cabin with this weekend have been barfing for

03:13:34 - 03:13:39 | Speaker 2:

the past 12 hours oh and you're with us right now great well i didn't know that till i came in this

03:13:39 - 03:13:46 | Speaker 3:

morning i have police and got text messages from them and i didn't think you wanted me to up and in the middle of the show. I feel lovely so far.

03:13:46 - 03:13:47 | Speaker 1:

Okay. Wonderful.

03:13:47 - 03:13:48 | Speaker 2:

If I'm sick on Thanksgiving.

03:13:48 - 03:13:50 | Speaker 3:

One is actually at the doctor right now.

03:13:50 - 03:13:56 | Speaker 2:

I'm going to go after you and your wheelbarrow races that you guys did with each other over the weekend.

03:13:56 - 03:13:57 | Speaker 1:

Making out on your girls' legs.

03:13:57 - 03:14:11 | Speaker 2:

It wasn't the person that was lifting you in their legs. Was it on your... No, not Ash. Stay away from them. Oh, gosh. Not yet. And this is a wild survey to end on. One in three people have never built a snowman.

03:14:12 - 03:14:12 | Speaker 4:

What?

03:14:13 - 03:14:13 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

03:14:13 - 03:14:14 | Speaker 4:

Well, is that because of...

03:14:14 - 03:14:15 | Speaker 1:

They don't live near snow.

03:14:16 - 03:14:16 | Unknown:

Yeah.

03:14:16 - 03:14:24 | Speaker 2:

Well, probably. Yes. Actually, results show... No, actually, here you go. I'll read the whole thing to you.

03:14:24 - 03:14:26 | Speaker 1:

If it was one in three in Michigan, I'd be disappointed.

03:14:26 - 03:14:39 | Speaker 2:

According to a poll of 2,000 people, one-third have never built a snowman, while one in four, a quarter, have never had a cup of hot cocoa. What? Yes.

03:14:39 - 03:14:39 | Speaker 4:

That's crazy.

03:14:39 - 03:14:59 | Speaker 2:

More than half of the people polled say that they actually experience regularly snow where they live, while 21% only sometimes experience snow. So there's actually people that all experience snow somehow or been around snow. The results show that many of the respondents are planning on traveling to the northeast or the...

03:15:00 - 03:16:33 | Speaker 7:

Midwest this season because they want to see snow those people are nuts while people who see snow like the people in Buffalo if I lived in Buffalo you know what I would do I'd get my ass out of Buffalo could you imagine that how much snow that they had over the weekend they say that they're getting away from the snow and going somewhere warmer I was even West Michigan had 30 inches in some spots over this weekend you know I saw that I thought was amazing so with that snow in buffalo you know they're building a new stadium for the buffalo bills it's the second time in like less than 10 years that they've had to move a game because snow is so bad you know that their new stadium is not going to be a dome stadium it's going to be an outdoor stadium like i hope that new stadium that has like some kind of force field over it that causes the snow to melt as it's coming towards the the field otherwise we'll be constantly hosting them in detroit i saw also the over the weekend that the nfl said that detroit is going to be the constant for the nfl as long as the lions aren't playing a game that weekend to move teams to because they say it's the easiest place to get hotels and air transportation to so i think it's kind of a cool kind of bonus we may not get a super bowl right but we get your snow bowls all right have a great day we will see you guys tomorrow morning if we don't get a chance to because maybe you're taking off early for Thanksgiving week. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. You can always stay connected with the Mojo in the Morning show. Listening to our podcast is always available on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
