It's been really, really cool seeing kind of these women just really step into their power off the court and understand that they are basketball, right? And they're not asking for permission.

Listen to Levels to This with Shroes Hoops and Tarika Foster-Brasby on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Bill, why is my eye twitching? Does this mean I'm in perimenopause? Where's my phone?

00:01:46 - 00:01:48 | Speaker 5:

Juliana, maybe we can ask an actual human.

00:01:48 - 00:01:58 | Speaker 2:

Yes, because I have questions, and I bet you do too. Like, is it normal to sleep in separate bedrooms? we do that, and I still need to know why my poop's been green. We've got actual people

00:01:58 - 00:02:07 | Speaker 5:

answering these exact questions. Listen to Bill and Juliana, the podcast, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts.

00:02:12 - 00:02:23 | Speaker 4:

Good morning, and welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. Thanks for being here with us today. It's Wednesday. I can't believe the last day

00:02:23 - 00:02:31 | Speaker 8:

of November. How nutty is that? Don't send me into a panic yet. I know. I feel like I have so much to

00:02:31 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 4:

do. You ready for December or not? Actually, I thought it was December already, to be honest with you. I don't know why it is that after Thanksgiving, I just go, oh, okay, it's December. So I was looking at a study that was done of when you decorate for Christmas, will say a lot about your personality and what your personality is. And the earlier you decorate, sometimes maybe is not the greatest when it comes to what your personality is. Here, let me read this real quick to you since we're starting off this morning. And I have not done much decorations. Chelsea has, but we haven't done like the big one yet. We haven't done like the big tree yet. But we have like, you know, the chimney, the stockings are hung by the chimney with care in hopes that i don't have to put them away next year um okay so here's what a psychologist says dr carmen hara hara says when you hang up your decoration says a lot about your personality those who put their decorations up before november might struggle to enjoy living in the moment you guys are psychos if you do it before november people looking to have their christmas trees up in early december meanwhile are more realistic in nature so if you haven't done it until tomorrow you're still good however those who leave it for just days before december the 25th to sort out you know the decorations are likely to be traditional but pessimistic you're negative you're a pessimist also isn't that a lot of work to just have up for a couple of days and then you gotta take it down yeah we've done that's how i always think about this wait till your kids are older okay so what does it say wait till they're older and you don't care anymore about it that's what will happen to you go ahead i'm sorry megan what does it say when

00:04:33 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 1:

you set it up three days before christmas but then you leave it up until may well okay let's

00:04:37 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 4:

go through hold on let me see if i get that one on this list actually it's funny they don't have oh here you go um leaving your tree up for months after christmas can portray you as a person who procrastinates or one who disassociates with the notion of time and doesn't fully engage in the present that's you according to doc carman it checks

00:05:00 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was like, I don't like how accurate that is.

00:05:00 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 5:

Thank you.

00:05:04 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 1:

We have a lot of listeners I feel like we talk to every year that leave them up year-round and just decorate them for the different holidays. That's crazy. Is that on there?

00:05:10 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Well, no, here you go. Let's see here. I guess that would be that one because it says leaving it up for a while. But ready for this? Yeah. This one, taking your tree down immediately can signify that you're efficient and quick to get things done, but also can indicate that you are awkwardly not happy with yourself. So if you're somebody that goes, oh, got to go, moving on this whole thing, Christmas is over with, we're out of this thing, then I don't know, that's kind of scary. This doctor, by the way, I don't know who she is, but I don't like her.

00:05:46 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 1:

Is that who did the study, a doctor?

00:05:47 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 4:

It was a psychologist, yeah.

00:05:49 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 1:

I was going to say, why don't you feel like a foot doctor?

00:05:51 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 4:

Dr. Karen, I know. No, it's always a chiropractor.

00:05:56 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 1:

And you're like, okay.

00:05:58 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 4:

It's like, hello, doctor, how you doing? Oh, this guy's giving me, like, you know, studies on how to take care of my brain and stuff. What do you do when we're living? I adjust people's backs.

00:06:07 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 2:

All right, thank you.

00:06:09 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 4:

I don't know. I'll be honest with you. I'm like one of those people that I just do whatever my wife tells me to do. But I don't know what that says, Dr. Kerman

00:06:19 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 5:

It says you'll live a long life Happy life

00:06:22 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 4:

But it also I'm one that I wouldn't put a tree up Like if I were If I were, you know, a single guy Without kids Because I feel like I only do it for the kids Like I really wouldn't do it for anybody else Other than the kids

00:06:38 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, well I put my tree up Two days ago, but it just has lights on it And that's it I don't have anything else on it And I'm like, but it just looks so pretty. No, no, no. I have to have a kid.

00:06:50 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 4:

Let's take this back for one second. What? Because I need Dr. Carmen to analyze this. What? Tell the listeners how many trees that you put up for Christmas.

00:06:58 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 1:

Well, so normally I put up two. Me, I put up two. This year I only have one. I haven't done the other one. I'm probably not going to do it. It's just too much work. But my children each have, let me think about this. Smith has two trees in his room. Lucy has three trees in her room. Now, they're like mini trees. So right now, one, two, three, four, five. I have six trees out in my house. Oh, my God.

00:07:23 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 5:

How is wrong with you?

00:07:24 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 1:

Well, they each have like a colored tree. Like Lucy has a hot pink tree. Smith has a silver tree. And then Andrew bought them. Have you been to Kroger lately? Kroger has all these cute little mini trees out in front. So Andrew got them each one of those. Oh, my gosh. And then Lucy had like another one that she got on Amazon last year.

00:07:41 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 5:

Mini, they're like four-foot tabletop trees.

00:07:42 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 1:

No, they're little. They're like that. I was looking through them yesterday. That's not four feet. It's like two feet. Three feet. Yeah, they're teeny.

00:07:48 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 4:

All right, so.

00:07:49 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 1:

But still, there's a lot of trees.

00:07:51 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 4:

Megan, how many trees do you have up in your house right now?

00:07:53 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 2:

Right now, none.

00:07:55 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 4:

Really? Yeah. Zero point zero.

00:07:58 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 2:

My brother and I are currently arguing over it because I refuse to go in the basement to get the spider bag. The spider bag? A.K.A. where all of my ornaments and Christmas trees are in. So he has to bring it up, and then I will set it up, but he has to clear it out. He has to be the spider inspector.

00:08:15 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 1:

I made Wes get mine at the top of my garage shelf this year. Remember last year I fell off the ladder and my neighbor had to come over and know me?

00:08:22 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 4:

Oh my God, that's right.

00:08:23 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, but Megan is like the queen of Christmas. She couldn't look forward to this cold soon enough. And now she makes no concessions to actually start the holiday in her own house.

00:08:33 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 2:

No, it's not. We're genuinely fighting over this every day, but he wins because there's spiders down there.

00:08:39 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 4:

What's going on, Donnie?

00:08:44 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 3:

Hi, good morning. Happy hump day. Hey.

00:08:47 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 4:

I don't know what noise I'm supposed to make after that, but yeah. Hump day.

00:08:51 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. So I texted in. My husband and I have not decorated yet because the sooner we decorate, the more we have to fix the decorations because our cats are a-hole.

00:09:04 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 5:

Oh, the cats. Isn't that funny? Your pets are completely altering your holiday.

00:09:11 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 4:

Cats, by the way, cats jump and knock the tree over. And actually, there's a funny TikTok that I just saw yesterday of a cat knocking a tree. As a matter of fact, I think there's probably thousands of them or millions of them online. But you know what dogs do to trees? They pee on them. My dogs actually will lift a leg. They're like, oh, great. I don't have to go outside.

00:09:33 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 3:

Your dog's pooping your shoes. Yes, well, that's true.

00:09:37 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 4:

By the way, you're a great listener. I like that. Meow, meow, meow, meow. Meow, meow. Thanks, Donnie. Love you.

00:09:45 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 3:

Have a good day.

00:09:46 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 4:

Merry Christmas. What's up, Amanda?

00:09:49 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 3:

Good morning, my girl.

00:09:50 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 4:

Good morning. What's going on?

00:09:52 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Nothing. I just wanted to say that I set my tree up the day before Christmas and then take it down Christmas night. No. Oh, that is.

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 2:

There's so much work for not enough time to enjoy.

00:10:04 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, well, it's hard. I don't have a lot of room. I don't think I'm putting it up this year because my husband brought in all his plants from outside while I have no room. What did he bring in from outside?

00:10:13 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 2:

All his crap from outside. Plants. Plants? Plants. Well, plants.

00:10:18 - 00:10:19 | Speaker 3:

Wait, wait, wait. What kind of plants?

00:10:20 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 1:

I don't know.

00:10:20 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 3:

Oh, not those kind of plants. We do have some of those.

00:10:24 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 1:

By the way, does anybody who grows in their house decorate what they grow? Like, do you ever string lights through your weed plants? That would be hysterically funny.

00:10:35 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, because now they have those little LED lights that are so light, you could probably do it.

00:10:38 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 1:

That would be, honestly, the greatest to see somebody in a grow shop or a grow basement.

00:10:45 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 2:

But, Amanda, why even bother? Nobody's going to see your tree. Like, why every year do you just have it up for a day or two?

00:10:51 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 3:

Because I really don't have the room in my living room for it.

00:10:55 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 1:

Wow. Well, you're better than I am. I would just not even put one up. I would just say screw it.

00:11:02 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 3:

Well, like I said, I probably won't even this year because all the plants from outside are in the house, and my house looks like I'm dangling right now. Yeah.

00:11:08 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 1:

Have a great day. Have a great Christmas, too. Thank you. David?

00:11:13 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 4:

Still going on. Good morning.

00:11:15 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 1:

How you doing? What's going on?

00:11:17 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 4:

I'm doing good on my way home from work.

00:11:19 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 1:

What's happening, buddy? Are you going home to decorate?

00:11:22 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 4:

No. Oh, my wife, she's already started that the Friday after Thanksgiving when she wanted to do it before. I'm not a big Christmas decoration person, so I'm her little helper that helps her out and everything. That's the appropriate day to do it. And I told her no decorating before Thanksgiving.

00:11:42 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:11:43 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 4:

She agreed with it, so.

00:11:46 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. Don't decorate before Thanksgiving. Although there are, like I just read that study, there are those people that do do that. Oh, yeah.

00:11:57 - 00:11:59 | Speaker 4:

Our next-door neighbor did it the week prior.

00:12:00 - 00:14:12 | Speaker 1:

Well, listen, I'm going to tell you this, that I think that you guys might have lost your day to decorate outside with good weather. Because I think that yesterday might have been it for you. Because the weather is going to drastically change over the next probably 24 hours or so. And then I think we might be done. I mean, we've been really blessed with good weather if you're doing outdoor decorating. I mean, it's been, like, unbelievable that we've had 50-degree temperatures. I think I saw one of the local weather people say we had more 50-degree days in this November than we've had in, like, the last decade or so. All right, Mojo in the morning show. God, we've got so much to do this morning. We do grant breaking and entering Christmas wishes from now until the holidays. So we have a Christmas wish coming up this morning. So Mike, Reese, and the gang are all going out to grant a Christmas wish. So you'll have that. We're going to do the normal fun stuff like five lies and phone scams stuff. And then we're also going to remember a year ago today was the horrible tragedy at Oxford High School, which is in our area here in the Detroit area. And obviously our listeners from both Toledo and Grand Rapids and across the world on the iHeartRadio app pulled together for the families of the four victims and all the victims of that horrible tragedy. So this morning we're going to talk to family. We're going to talk to friends. We're going to talk to those that are just still so sad and so angry over what happened. and uh we will remember those that lost their lives those four beautiful uh you know young men and women that that lost their life uh so that's all coming up this morning on the show i hate to you know as funny as i thought i gotta start talking i gotta mention that because i don't want anybody to think oh you why are you guys not talking about the thing but the mood then all of a sudden does change but we need to have that mood change because we can't forget because that's the that's the the cynicalness that happens sometimes in our society is We get inundated nonstop through the media that there's this horrible tragedy taking place. And then all of a sudden, we move on to whatever the next story is.

00:14:12 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 2:

Something else comes up, and that's it. Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30. By the way, it's still available. $35. I was looking yesterday. They released a couple new little sections of seats. Really good seats. There's some on the floor right up front. Some on the side that I like to sit on because I'm short so I can see over everybody's heads. Same. And they're good seats

00:14:33 - 00:15:29 | Speaker 1:

Somebody asked me, they said, is it worth the price Of buying, like, you know, the floor seats Or whatever, and I said, why, what do you mean by that Well, the Backstreet Boys, are they just gonna do like one or two songs I'm like, no, they're gonna do They're gonna probably, more than likely, they're closing out The show, and they're gonna close out the show With, you know, a set That's more than 20, 30 minutes long So, it's gonna be a good show And you're gonna have an opportunity to see the Backstreet Boys Do all their hits, including their Latest Last Christmas at our Jingle Ball Thank you.

00:15:00 - 00:15:53 | Speaker 3:

So it was big yesterday. The U.S. soccer team advanced to the knockout round of the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Iran. Christian Pulisic scored the winning goal while crashing headfirst into the goalkeeper in the 38th minute of the game. Did you see what he hurt? Yeah, like he laid there for a couple of minutes. Re-entered the game at the second half, but then was replaced at the start of the second half. Turns out he has a pelvic contusion. That does not sound fun. His status has been listed as day-to-day at this point. I saw President Biden was in Michigan yesterday paying a little visit. And at one point, he grabbed the mic because he was so excited to announce the win.

00:15:58 - 00:16:15 | Speaker 1:

USA USA that's a big game man well I spoke to the coach and the players I said you can do this they went I they're gonna they did it God love them anyway just thought you might want to hear

00:16:15 - 00:16:19 | Speaker 3:

yeah the U.S. will play the Netherlands on Saturday do you see this we actually have an

00:16:19 - 00:16:40 | Speaker 4:

x-ray of what's the guy's name that scored the goal again uh Christian Pulisic put this is Christian Pulisic's x-ray that was done of his midsection. Come on. Isn't that amazing? You like that? You're dumb. Got the bald eagle on his bald peepee. How old are you? Is that unbelievable?

00:16:41 - 00:17:23 | Speaker 3:

People are destroying their very expensive Balenciaga products in protest of those controversial ads of children posing with bondage-inspired attire and accessories. The videos are getting millions of views on TikTok. So you might see the hashtags Boycott Balenciaga and Cancel Balenciaga trending. One influencer I saw cut up a hoodie that she said she paid 700 bucks for. She also tossed out a Balenciaga t-shirt, a pair of sunglasses, a pair of shoes collectively that were worth more than $2,000. I saw somebody cracking eggs into what they said was a Balenciaga bag. It was Louis Vuitton. Somebody better tell her not to ruin that bag because it was probably a very expensive bag.

00:17:23 - 00:17:27 | Speaker 2:

Will Kim Kardashian be, like, taking all that money she made from them and donating it to a children's charity?

00:17:27 - 00:18:56 | Speaker 3:

I do have more on this story. Actually, a big update in next hour's story. Kanye West says the IRS has put a hold on four of his bank accounts because he owes the federal government $50 million in taxes. I mean, duh. You're in trouble here. He said he just found out that they were also trying to put him in prison over this, but instead they froze a handful of his accounts. He acknowledged when he was talking about this during an interview yesterday that he's obviously not the most financially literate person on the planet. A group of women who have accused Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson of sexual assault are set to attend Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. He's playing in Houston's Energy Stadium as the newest member of the Browns and will face the team that he played with for five years. Attorney Tony Busby, who represents two dozen of the women who have accused Deshaun Watson of sexual misconduct, says 10 of his clients are joining forces and will be at that game. This attorney said he wants to send a message to Deshaun telling him that you think you put us behind you, but we are still here. And Home Alone, a Christmas classic. I think we've already watched it like six times in my house this year. At least the kids love it. Well, Joe Pesci, a.k.a. Harry of the Wet Bandits, spoke with People Magazine to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Home Alone 2 Lost in New York. Did I read that right? 30 years?

00:18:56 - 00:18:56 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:18:57 - 00:19:28 | Speaker 3:

Holy crap. Well, he talked about how he suffered a truly serious injury during the filming because of a stunt gone wrong. One of the pranks in that sequel, as happens to him in the first one, but is his hat getting set on fire? And he said he was left with serious burns because of that. But he recalled, I was fortunate enough to have a professional stuntman do the real heavy stunts. But he did that one himself and something happened and he was left badly burned on the top of his head for a while after he did that.

00:19:28 - 00:19:49 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was reading. Actually, Netflix is a great behind the scenes making of the movie. There's a series they do of all favorite family movies. Yeah. And they also talk about like the director would make them do these stunts again and again and again. And the stunt guy who had to keep falling down the icy steps, he said he was in the hospital after that movie because they were never satisfied. They had to fall down the steps 40, 50 times.

00:19:49 - 00:19:58 | Speaker 4:

Can I give you a little excitement thing to watch? Yes. You got to watch it. And I actually just saw it yesterday on Hulu. Diane Sawyer sits down with the cast.

00:19:58 - 00:19:59 | Speaker 3:

I know.

00:20:00 - 00:20:01 | Speaker 1:

Of Love Actually.

00:20:01 - 00:20:02 | Speaker 3:

My favorite movie.

00:20:02 - 00:20:15 | Speaker 1:

And where are they now and what they say was never supposed to be in the movie that turned out to be the biggest moment in the movie. My second favorite part. Yes. Remember when he was dancing to the song?

00:20:15 - 00:20:20 | Speaker 3:

I had the biggest crush on Hugh Grant during this movie when he did this dance. I don't know why.

00:20:20 - 00:20:29 | Speaker 1:

It's pretty cool. And then, you know the little boy? You see what the little boy now looks like. The little boy that was Liam Neeson's son. Yeah. Yeah, in that movie.

00:20:29 - 00:20:29 | Speaker 3:

And he's old.

00:20:30 - 00:20:35 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. And actually, to be honest with you, not like Macaulay Culkin, because Macaulay Culkin got ugly later in life.

00:20:35 - 00:20:39 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my gosh. He did. He was kind of awkward looking.

00:20:39 - 00:20:41 | Speaker 1:

This kid actually stayed cute. He's cute. Yeah.

00:20:41 - 00:20:51 | Speaker 3:

I saw something yesterday on Instagram that Macaulay Culkin is now older than Catherine O'Hara was when she played his mom in Home Alone.

00:20:51 - 00:20:55 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. Are you serious? Think about that for a second. Wow.

00:20:55 - 00:20:59 | Speaker 3:

All right. For all today's dirty, check out the Dirty Page on MiddletonWinning.com.

00:21:00 - 00:21:19 | Speaker 4:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30. And another world-famous phone scan is next. It's time for an official government survey. It's Mojo in the Morning's Senseless Survey.

00:21:24 - 00:21:30 | Speaker 6:

It's been going on. Jim, this is Ann. May I help you?

00:21:30 - 00:21:41 | Speaker 5:

Hi, Ann. It's Mr. Bob Dabalina from the U.S. Senseless Bureau. How are you doing this morning? I'm great. And you? I'm doing pretty good. We just have this 30-second survey that we do for the government. It's the senseless.

00:21:41 - 00:21:42 | Speaker 6:

Uh-huh.

00:21:42 - 00:21:49 | Speaker 5:

We just have three questions. It takes about 30 seconds. Just asking, how would you tell if someone replaced your I-can't-believe-it's-not-butter with real butter?

00:21:51 - 00:21:52 | Speaker 6:

How would I react?

00:21:52 - 00:22:16 | Speaker 5:

How would you know if they replaced your butter? Oh, you wouldn't. You wouldn't know okay. Do you think we can guess who's destiny's favorite child ended up being yet? So if a small iPad is called a mini does that make the old one a maxi iPad? No, and what if oxygen makes our voice?

00:22:26 - 00:22:27 | Speaker 1:

I could talk to her forever, couldn't you?

00:22:28 - 00:22:28 | Speaker 5:

Hello.

00:22:30 - 00:22:34 | Speaker 4:

It's Mojo in the Morning's senseless survey because we love America.

00:22:34 - 00:23:35 | Speaker 1:

The Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish program would not be possible without the help of our friends from Red Robin, which we are going to be at this Thursday. So Thursday, we're waiting tables at Red Robin. And I want to tell our Channel 955 and our 92.5 KISS FM listeners that you guys have a task that is going to be very easy for you. It's not that far for you to get to. Go to Southgate and see us. Southgate, Michigan. Okay? Because we're going to be at the Red Robin there off of Eureka Road. Five till seven. We just want to even meet you. Even if you just stop by and say hi. But if you'd like to eat there that night, we would love it. Because guess what? Everything that we make that night goes to breaking and entering Christmas wish. So it helps us be able to grant more wishes. And that means that, Megan, do not drop any plates or any dishes because if anything breaks, that comes off of our tab.

00:23:35 - 00:23:42 | Speaker 2:

Oh, crap. Did I ever tell you about the time I broke 300 glasses there once? All at the same time, baby. Go big or go home.

00:23:42 - 00:23:54 | Speaker 1:

Don't say it because now they're – I asked Brian. I said to him, Brian from Red Robin, I go, So, Brian, look up Megan's file, and I want to know if she's still in your employee file or what's going on.

00:23:54 - 00:23:55 | Speaker 5:

It's a big file.

00:23:56 - 00:24:13 | Speaker 1:

Guys, it's going to be fun. It's going to be such a good time. So, please, again, if you can, Thursday, 5 until 7, Red Robin, Southgate, Eureka Road, and then all the Red Robins in Grand Rapids, Detroit area, and Toledo are going to be doing something special for Breakdown and Christmas Wish. These guys have helped us for so many years.

00:24:13 - 00:24:21 | Speaker 4:

It's Mojo in the Mornings, 5 at 655. 5 and 6.55, yo, 5 and 6.55, yo, now.

00:24:21 - 00:24:25 | Speaker 1:

Taylor's going for three in a row. Taylor, what's happening?

00:24:25 - 00:24:26 | Speaker 2:

Hey.

00:24:26 - 00:24:35 | Speaker 1:

You made it interesting yesterday. Let's see what happens today when you take on Lexi from Taylor. Hi, Lexi from Taylor. What's going on?

00:24:36 - 00:24:38 | Speaker 6:

Hi, good morning.

00:24:38 - 00:24:40 | Speaker 1:

Good morning. Nice to have you on. Say hello to Taylor.

00:24:41 - 00:24:42 | Speaker 6:

Hey, Taylor.

00:24:42 - 00:27:42 | Speaker 1:

We're going to lock her up in a soundproof area, Lexi, and I'm going to start with you with the questions. Good luck to both of you guys. Five questions. Whoever gets the most right wins, tie goes to the champion. I'm almost going to say, whoever gets the most right wins, ties. I don't know. That wouldn't make sense. All right. All right. Question number one, Lexi, after sharing a photo to her Instagram story, Haley Bieber clarified that she is not pregnant but suffering from an ovarian cyst the size of an apple. Who is Haley's married-to-the-mob-actor-uncle? Mom. Three seconds. Who's her uncle? No clue? No. I'm going to pass on that one. All right. You'll get this next one, I think. Question number two, fans are frustrated with this Jenner sister after she posted a photo of her ginormous Christmas tree saying her tree is larger than their homes. Kylie Jenner. Question number three, Scarlett Johansson is taking on her first lead role in a TV series for Amazon Prime. Which superhero did Johansson play in the Avengers? uh uh three seconds okay question by the way you're like me when a teacher would ask me a question i just mumble my way through hoping that she'd think you said something i would just sit there and i go whatever uh or you just scribble the answer and you're like i swear but that's the right one I got through life like that, Lexi. Don't worry about it. Question number four. The Michigan Wolverines moved up to number two in the BCS poll after destroying the Ohio State University this past weekend. True or false, Alabama is number one in the poll? False. And question number five. Which Hotline Bling rapper gave DJ Khaled four luxury toilets for his 47th birthday? By the way, the toilets have a heated seat, a bidet function, and a tornado flush system. Let's bring the champ back from a soundproof area. Okay. It was a wild ride, but Lexi held on and she got three out of five. Wow, much better than I thought you would have done, Lexi. That's good. She struggled a little bit, Taylor. Here we go. Question number one. After sharing a photo to her Instagram story, Hailey Bieber clarified that she is not pregnant, but suffering from an ovarian cyst the size of an apple. Who is Hailey's married-to-the-mob actor uncle? Actor uncle? Yeah. He's an actor, and he's an uncle to her. Three seconds. Oh, my gosh. I don't know. No clue. Hailey Bieber?

00:27:43 - 00:28:38 | Speaker 1:

Hailey Bieber was Hailey Baldwin. Yeah. Alec Baldwin. Oh, yeah. Scoreless after one question. Question number two. Fans are frustrated with this Jenner sister after she posted a photo of her ginormous Christmas tree saying her tree is larger than their homes. Kylie Jenner. Yes. Scores one to one. And she guessed on that. Question number three. Scarlett Johansson is taking on her first lead role in a TV series for Amazon Prime. Which superhero did Johansson play in the Avengers? Black Widow? Yes. Two to one. Question number four. The Michigan Wolverines moved up to number two in the BCS poll after destroying the Ohio State University this past weekend. True or false? Alabama is number one in the poll.

00:28:39 - 00:28:39 | Unknown:

True.

00:28:39 - 00:29:59 | Speaker 1:

No, it's actually false. Georgia. All right. We're tied up two to two. You like to make me like, you know, I have heart problems. You know that? I don't know if you want to do this to me. Taylor, Lexi got the last one correct so you do as well. You have to. Okay. Question number five. Which Hotline Bling rapper gave DJ Khaled four luxury toilets for his 47th birthday? The toilets have a heated seat, a bidet function, and a tornado flush system. Drake. You're the winner. Congratulations. We can buy three to three is the final. Wow. That's amazing. Well, you know what? I love you. You are making it fun for all of us and radio land here. Let's see what happens tomorrow. If you, uh, if you want to play text, I want to play to nine five five zero zero. We'll try to get you on the show. Uh, congratulations to you, uh, Taylor on winning a parting gift. Okay. Thank you. All right. Yeah, Taylor, we're going to say three or four. I'm sorry, not Taylor. Oh, that was Freudian. Lexi, we're giving you a gift. We're giving you the Nutcracker experience from the producers of the blockbuster acclaimed original Immerse Van Gogh exhibit.

00:30:00 - 00:30:18 | Speaker 2:

the ultimate holiday experience. The Immerse Nutcracker at the Lighthouse Airspace, Detroit. Tickets are on sale right now at immerse-nutcracker.com. Congratulations. Thank you. Five lies and breaking in on Christmas.

00:30:18 - 00:30:23 | Speaker 3:

Coming up. Five is 6.55. It's Mojo in the Morning.

00:30:25 - 00:30:25 | Speaker 1:

Sweet.

00:30:26 - 00:30:28 | Speaker 3:

Five lies to tell your mom.

00:30:28 - 00:30:33 | Speaker 2:

Hi, Luana. Hi. Let's call your mom and do five lies to tell your mom.

00:30:34 - 00:30:34 | Speaker 4:

Okay.

00:30:35 - 00:30:56 | Speaker 2:

There are five made-up lies. We made them up. You are going to tell them to your mom, and we'll see how good of an actress you are. And if your mom stays on the phone for all five, you win a prize for mom. All right. Lie number one in five lies to tell your mom. You're going to say, Mom, the police are on their way to my work. Okay. Lie number two.

00:30:56 - 00:30:58 | Speaker 1:

Say, I went out with some friends over the weekend.

00:30:59 - 00:31:09 | Speaker 2:

Lie number three. And we ended up slashing my ex's tires. Do you have a good ex that your mom would believe that you would be wanting to slash tires?

00:31:09 - 00:31:12 | Speaker 4:

Yes, probably his name out there, right?

00:31:12 - 00:31:38 | Speaker 2:

Oh, okay. All right, yeah, you say his name. There you go. Boy, that poor guy better be careful. Lie number four. The police, they think it's me in the surveillance video. Okay. And lie number five. So I need you to convince them that I was with you at church. I kind of like when we do this, where mom has to see if mom is good at lying about this. If they'll lie for their kids.

00:31:39 - 00:31:40 | Speaker 4:

Okay.

00:31:40 - 00:31:42 | Speaker 2:

Are you ready? Is your mom a church-going woman?

00:31:43 - 00:31:43 | Speaker 4:

Yes.

00:31:44 - 00:31:46 | Speaker 2:

Let's see what happens.

00:31:55 - 00:32:50 | Speaker 4:

Come on. They, um, you know, I found when they had a little blade in her trunk, so we cut the tires on his truck. Oh, my God, LaWanna. Why did I? I know, I know, I know. So, um, they had me on, the police are saying that they had me on surveillance and they think that it's me.

00:32:53 - 00:32:54 | Speaker 1:

Where are you going to?

00:32:55 - 00:33:07 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. I don't know. Do you think I should leave? Well, Mom, one day probably going to talk to you. I need you to tell them that we were together like we were at church or something, like at the church event on Sunday night.

00:33:07 - 00:33:12 | Speaker 1:

Don't choose church, Luana. That's the wrong thing to do, because they can go and ask people. They do that.

00:33:12 - 00:33:19 | Speaker 4:

I don't know how long before they be pulling up. I don't know. Maybe I should just leave. Maybe I should just get in my car, like when I'm in your car. Get in your car and leave now, now. Hey, Luana.

00:33:19 - 00:33:20 | Speaker 1:

Oh, God.

00:33:20 - 00:33:28 | Speaker 4:

Luana, the police are here for you. Oh, . Oh, my God. Oh, my goodness. Okay. Oh, my God. Luana, they're banging at the door.

00:33:28 - 00:33:29 | Speaker 3:

Luana. Oh, my God.

00:33:30 - 00:33:32 | Speaker 1:

Luana, stop. Stop. Calm down. Calm down.

00:33:32 - 00:33:37 | Speaker 4:

You have to call me. Tell them I need to know where they need to be. Luana, I'm getting ready to run out of here.

00:33:37 - 00:34:17 | Speaker 3:

Luana. Luana, this is the police. We have your office surrounded. Luana, get out there now. Come out with your hands up. Go now. Luana, go. LaWanna, I'm giving you one last warning. We are going to come in, LaWanna. I'm counting to three, LaWanna. One, two... If I get to three, LaWanna, I'm breaking this door down. Go!

00:34:18 - 00:34:19 | Unknown:

Oh, my God.

00:34:19 - 00:34:28 | Speaker 3:

Open the door. You're making it worse. Open the door for them now. All right, I'll start again. One. Open the door. Two.

00:34:28 - 00:34:36 | Speaker 1:

I'm walking towards the door. I'm walking towards it. Tell them to take the phone and tell me where they're taking you to now. Okay. Hello? Hello?

00:34:37 - 00:34:43 | Speaker 2:

Hi. Who is this? This is her mother. Please, I just want to know where you're taking her to. Well, I'm not going to take her anywhere.

00:34:44 - 00:34:46 | Speaker 3:

We're going to take her to church is where we're going to take her.

00:34:46 - 00:34:46 | Unknown:

What?

00:34:47 - 00:34:53 | Speaker 2:

Luana's mom? Yes? This is the Mojo in the Morning Show, and you've been on five lies to tell your mom.

00:34:53 - 00:34:59 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. I love you, Mom.

00:35:00 - 00:35:16 | Speaker 5:

I'm sorry, I'm going to give you a prize. Why would y'all do this to me?

00:35:16 - 00:35:26 | Speaker 2:

Oh my God. Mom, LaWanna had you on so that she can win you a prize and we are going to send you out on a great night with a dinner and a limo and all that stuff.

00:35:26 - 00:35:29 | Speaker 5:

Oh my God, Lord Jesus.

00:35:29 - 00:35:35 | Speaker 2:

You're not mad at Luana, are you?

00:35:43 - 00:35:44 | Speaker 1:

Are you okay?

00:35:49 - 00:35:54 | Speaker 2:

Is she emotional because she's upset that you lied to her, or is she emotional because she won the prize?

00:35:54 - 00:36:01 | Speaker 3:

Are you sure, Mom, you're emotional for that reason or for the other reason?

00:36:04 - 00:36:07 | Speaker 2:

You're emotional because you're winning this prize?

00:36:07 - 00:36:10 | Speaker 4:

Oh, nice. What a lovely woman.

00:36:11 - 00:36:17 | Speaker 1:

Mom, come out with your hands up. The limo's waiting for you in the driveway.

00:36:21 - 00:36:23 | Speaker 5:

It's Mojo in the Morning.

00:51:40 - 00:51:41 | Unknown:

Merry Christmas!

00:51:42 - 00:51:49 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God, are you here? We love you, Misty.

00:51:49 - 00:51:50 | Speaker 2:

Take care.

00:51:50 - 00:51:55 | Speaker 3:

We love you. Thank you. Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

00:51:55 - 00:51:57 | Speaker 2:

All right, what's going on in the dirty, Shannon?

00:51:57 - 00:52:45 | Speaker 5:

Well, that luxury fashion brand, Balenciaga, is essentially looking for a scapegoat after the backlash against its BDSM-themed campaign featuring little girls and child porn documents. And that's the reason it's suing one particular marketing agency for $25 million. So they're trying to unload a big chunk of the blame here and deflect, deflect, deflect. Sources connected to that controversial photo shoot that we talked about. It's up on the dirty page at MojoInTheMorning.com if you've missed it. Said the marketing agency, it's called North Six, has worked with Balenciaga in the past. But they really had no creative power over this particular photo shoot. Now, its employees dealt with logistics like crew and equipment and locations. But that's about it. So, I don't know how Balenciaga thinks they're going to pull this off. I like that.

00:52:45 - 00:52:47 | Speaker 3:

Nobody in the building actually approved the ad.

00:52:47 - 00:53:34 | Speaker 5:

So this marketing company that they're suing, again, for $25 million, had absolutely nothing to do with the set design for the shoot, aside from hiring a third-party set designer, okay? So, I mean, essentially, like, there's so many steps here. It's out of their hands. Now, a lot of people are also saying there is no way that a brand as big as Balenciaga wouldn't have seen and approved those photos before launching this campaign. So they are very much at fault here. Harry Styles was playing a sold-out show in Columbia this week. This was really scary when he noticed that multiple fans were in distress in the crowd. At least eight fans were fainting, just passing out as he was up on stage performing.

00:53:34 - 00:53:52 | Speaker 1:

I'm very excited to be here. Tonight's going to be an amazing show, but the most important thing is that everyone in here is safe. There are a lot of people in here. The bed's warm. All we're going to do is everyone on the floor, really, really slowly, starting from the back.

00:53:52 - 00:53:54 | Speaker 2:

They're saying we can't breathe?

00:53:55 - 00:54:51 | Speaker 5:

Yes, it was so hot. And there were so many people, 24,000 people crunched together. And that's why he paused the show and said, everybody needs to take a deep breath. God, you can actually hear them say, suffocating. We can't breathe. Eight people at least passed out during the show. If you've heard the rumors about Billie Eilish appearing on the upcoming third season of HBO's Euphoria in her Time Capsule interview series that she's been doing with Vanity Fair, she set the record straight on that. She said, it's not true. However, she added, but I would like to be. She said, euphoria is effing fire. So if producers want to reach out to her, she's down. And lastly, this is a big local story. Michigan State Police and prison officials have launched an investigation after a rap video was shot inside of a prison cell at the Macomb Correctional Facility and posted to YouTube. Here's Fox 2 with that story.

00:54:54 - 00:54:59 | Speaker 2:

Guards found a YouTube link written on a piece of paper while conducting a routine search.

00:55:00 - 00:55:09 | Speaker 5:

They then looked at it, pulled it up online, and found that it was a video that had clearly been shot inside of that prison.

00:55:09 - 00:55:28 | Speaker 1:

Chris Gout, spokesman for Michigan's Department of Corrections, says the video was shot back in September and was posted on YouTube November 3rd. Guards did not discover it until a week or so later. The video had about 200 views then. Now it's racked up more than 18,000 and counting.

00:55:28 - 00:55:40 | Speaker 5:

The prisoners who were in the video certainly made no attempt to hide or disguise who they were. So staff were able to recognize them and then go to their cell to confront them about this.

00:55:40 - 00:56:08 | Speaker 1:

Those inmates could face additional prison time. Having a cell phone in jail is illegal. MDOC is not releasing the names of the men in the video, but says one of them was convicted of second-degree murder. The other, armed robbery. One of the inmates was convicted twice of possessing prisoner contraband while doing a bid at Muskegon Correctional Facility. MDOC is vowing to find out how they got the phones.

00:56:09 - 00:56:09 | Speaker 2:

Wow.

00:56:09 - 00:56:24 | Speaker 3:

The rap video, by the way, just in case you were curious, the video for the song is called In Dis Cell. In Dis Cell. In Dis Cell. The last I checked, it had like 19,500 views or something on YouTube.

00:56:24 - 00:56:29 | Speaker 2:

And it's not on the charts, nor will it ever be on the charts, nor will it ever be played on our show other than the news story.

00:56:30 - 00:56:34 | Speaker 4:

These officers didn't know that these guys have so... I'm on prison tack all the time. Right, right.

00:56:35 - 00:56:38 | Speaker 6:

Somebody's going to get in trouble, because somebody knew about it.

00:56:38 - 00:56:44 | Speaker 3:

I know how they charge the phones in there. For all of today's Dirty, check out the Dirty page on MojoInTheMorning.com.

00:56:45 - 00:56:48 | Speaker 7:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirt. And another phone scam coming up in minutes.

00:56:49 - 00:57:08 | Speaker 2:

It's Mojo in the Morning Show, your home of the phone scams. We are going to call... Is it Lorna? Lorna. we're calling. We're calling Lorna. She works at a tiny family-run coffee shop, and we're going to scare her into thinking that Starbucks is going in right next door. It's a Mojo in the Morning

00:57:08 - 00:57:19 | Speaker 7:

phone scam. We will, we will scam you. Sorry, it's a catchy song. It's your home of phone scams. Mojo in the Morning.

00:57:22 - 00:57:36 | Speaker 6:

Good morning. Hi, good morning. Who's this speaking? This is Lorna. Hi, Lorna. My name is Schwef Tungula, and I'm the district manager of the new business going down at the end of the strip. I just want to call and introduce myself and say hello.

00:57:37 - 00:57:39 | Speaker 4:

Hi, I'm sorry. What's your name again?

00:57:39 - 00:57:42 | Speaker 6:

My name's Schwef with a silent J. Tungula.

00:57:43 - 00:57:47 | Speaker 4:

I'm sorry. It's loud here. What business did you say you work for?

00:57:47 - 00:58:19 | Speaker 6:

Oh, we're actually the big corner store that's been under construction for the past four months, which reminds me, I should thank you for your patience during this mess. But construction's almost over, and we should be opening very soon. The other reason I'm calling is to see if you wanted to contribute all of the businesses at S*** Plaza. We're talking about hiring a Santa to make an appearance the weekend before Christmas, and we're kind of asking to pull donations, whatever you could afford, and then Santa will be going in and out of our stores and also waving at the cars that drive by our lot. hopefully waving a few of them into the business.

00:58:20 - 00:58:24 | Speaker 4:

Sure, I'd be glad to get more info, but doesn't the landlord do that?

00:58:24 - 00:58:25 | Speaker 6:

Do what?

00:58:25 - 00:58:29 | Speaker 4:

I thought Matt and his team who handle the complex handle all of that stuff.

00:58:29 - 00:58:50 | Speaker 6:

Oh, yeah, well, they do all the decorating. I mean, let's face it, they do the bare minimum. I don't know if you saw the flags and the lights on the poles in the parking lot, but we appreciate that, but we want to go over the top. We want to hire an actual Santa to encourage foot traffic. Our business won't even be opening until next month, So we're not even going to actually be able to take advantage of the holiday shoppers. We're just being a participant as a goodwill gesture.

00:58:51 - 00:58:57 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, well, we've been wondering what that store is going to be because we've been seeing the contractors go in and out of that place for the last few months.

00:58:58 - 00:59:01 | Speaker 6:

Yes. Oh, yeah. Well, if nobody told you, we're going to be a Starbucks.

00:59:03 - 00:59:03 | Speaker 4:

What?

00:59:04 - 00:59:05 | Speaker 6:

A Starbucks.

00:59:06 - 00:59:06 | Speaker 4:

Starbucks coffee?

00:59:07 - 00:59:13 | Speaker 6:

Yes, ma'am. One of our new Reserve Roastery Superstores. I don't know if you've seen them. They are beautiful inside.

00:59:14 - 00:59:15 | Speaker 4:

You're kidding.

00:59:15 - 00:59:18 | Speaker 6:

No, I know. Isn't it great? Wait till you see the buzz when the doors open.

00:59:19 - 00:59:20 | Speaker 4:

You know who you're talking to, right?

00:59:21 - 00:59:22 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, the name's Lorna, right?

00:59:24 - 00:59:30 | Speaker 4:

Yes, of the ****** Cafe. We are one of the oldest independent cafes west of Toledo.

00:59:31 - 00:59:32 | Speaker 6:

Oh, congratulations.

00:59:34 - 00:59:37 | Speaker 4:

And you're opening a Starbucks in the same shopping center?

00:59:38 - 00:59:40 | Speaker 6:

Yes, ma'am, and we look forward to meeting you.

00:59:41 - 00:59:48 | Speaker 4:

Look, I got to be honest. I have to call the landlord, because how can there be two coffee shops on the same corner of the strip mall?

00:59:48 - 00:59:59 | Speaker 6:

Oh, well, I mean, apparently you don't have any kind of exclusivity in your lease contracted through next year. But, hey, it's all good. We just attract more coffee consumers to the area, so we all benefit.

01:00:00 - 01:00:04 | Speaker 5:

No, we've been here for 18 years. My mom opened this coffee shop.

01:00:04 - 01:00:09 | Speaker 3:

Right, but you understand what we mean, and we all benefit. It just brings more coffee drinkers to the corner.

01:00:11 - 01:00:12 | Speaker 5:

This doesn't make sense.

01:00:12 - 01:00:19 | Speaker 3:

Well, I mean, if you can't figure out, this is good for everyone, but I'd be glad to talk to you about it over a Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino Blended Beverage, our treat.

01:00:20 - 01:00:23 | Speaker 5:

I don't think so. I need to talk to Matt about this.

01:00:23 - 01:00:27 | Speaker 3:

Okay, yeah, give him a call. He spoke so highly of you, Lorna. They seem like great people.

01:00:28 - 01:00:30 | Speaker 5:

Oh, really? But he's going to put a Starbucks next to me?

01:00:31 - 01:00:34 | Speaker 3:

Well, we're building the Starbucks. He just leased the building for 15 years.

01:00:35 - 01:00:38 | Speaker 5:

You know what? I think we're done talking here. I need to make a phone call. Okay, Lorna, wait.

01:00:38 - 01:00:45 | Speaker 3:

There's one more thing I've got to tell you. Actually, this is just Spike from the Mojo in the Morning show, and you've just been the victim of a phone scam.

01:00:46 - 01:00:47 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God.

01:00:49 - 01:00:52 | Speaker 3:

We got an email from Elena. Who's Elena?

01:00:53 - 01:00:54 | Speaker 5:

That's my mom. Okay.

01:00:54 - 01:00:59 | Speaker 3:

Your mom told us to phone scam you. You've been worried about what that business was going to be. You've been pretty nosy.

01:00:59 - 01:01:00 | Speaker 5:

Yes.

01:01:00 - 01:01:02 | Speaker 3:

As far as I know, it's not going to be a Starbucks.

01:01:03 - 01:01:06 | Speaker 5:

Okay, good, because my heart is beating out of my chest right now.

01:01:07 - 01:01:09 | Speaker 3:

That's the caffeine. Too much caffeine.

01:01:09 - 01:01:12 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God, I love you guys. I listen to you all the time.

01:01:12 - 01:01:14 | Speaker 3:

You still love us even after you've been phone scammed?

01:01:15 - 01:01:17 | Speaker 5:

Yes, I think I might love you more.

01:01:20 - 01:01:30 | Speaker 2:

We will, we will scam you. we interrupt this message to tell you that was funny it's the home of the world famous phone

01:01:30 - 01:01:40 | Speaker 5:

scams you're listening to mojo in the morning i'll never forget a year ago today in the afternoon

01:01:40 - 01:03:33 | Speaker 1:

when everybody kept calling my phone are you watching the news are you watching the news you see what's going on see what's going on and i ran to the news to go see what was going on And that was a day a year ago that changed the lives of so many families and really changed, I believe, our whole listening audience. Because we kept hearing about school shootings in other communities, but we never had something like this in our backyard until what happened in Oxford, Michigan. Hannah St. Juliana, Tate Muir, Justin Schilling, Madison Baldwin, all were amazing young men and women who were in the prime of their lives. and then the others that were there at Oxford High School, the injured, the teachers, the people who were the first responders, their lives were changed with what they saw on that day. And it all was so preventable and it's just tragic. So on this day, I hope that you guys can reflect. I hope that you guys can say a prayer and I hope that you guys can pay attention and listen to two people that we're going to talk to right now that I think can add some perspective for us on this and then also can give us some remembrance on those that lost their lives. First on with us, and I welcome her to the show, is somebody who actually knows what it was like to be in school during this time and after this time. On the phone with us is Jace McCarthy. Jace, are you there?

01:03:34 - 01:03:35 | Speaker 5:

I am. Hi.

01:03:35 - 01:03:41 | Speaker 1:

Hi. It's good to have you on here with us. Jace, you are a member of the class of 2022 Oxford High School?

01:03:42 - 01:03:43 | Speaker 5:

I am.

01:03:44 - 01:04:19 | Speaker 1:

What a year that will always be remembered for. But also, what a person that you are and what you had to say about your friends that you lost and what it was like for you to go to school there. And I'm going to have you talk about that coming up here in a second. And then another person that's going to join us on the phone is Crystal Burden Baldwin. Crystal is Madison's aunt. And, Crystal, I am so sorry for you and your family. I know this has been just a horrible year, and I thank you for joining us today. I thank you for being part of our Mojo on the Morning Show.

01:04:21 - 01:04:22 | Speaker 4:

Thanks for having me.

01:04:22 - 01:04:46 | Speaker 1:

So, guys, I guess I could start with you, Crystal, first, and then I'll go to Jace. I just wanted to have you share with our listeners what Madison was like and what this has been for you and for the families. I'm wondering, have all the families gotten together over time and been able to grieve together?

01:04:46 - 01:04:59 | Speaker 4:

um i mean i i do believe that madison's parents have obviously gotten together with the other four parents throughout this whole year unfortunately they have you know a bond

01:05:00 - 01:05:34 | Speaker 3:

now that will forever keep them together. Obviously, you know, there's, you know, some families that are closer than others. But I mean, from my understanding, you know, yes, they have been in contact. They have met up outside of, you know, the normal hearings and all of that. So yeah, there has been a bond there, unfortunately, due to the circumstances. But yes, there has been that, you know to help get each other through you know this past year and obviously being able to relate

01:05:34 - 01:05:54 | Speaker 1:

to one another with everything that happened nobody wants to join that club but they've had to pull each other up and give each other strength and could you tell us do you remember i know the school did something special for the students on graduation day last may and i can't believe we're already here 12 months later but do you remember what they did for the students on

01:05:54 - 01:06:32 | Speaker 3:

graduation day um so graduation day um obviously um madison and justin both did graduate that day both of their parents accepted um their diplomas cap and gown any cords awards anything like that they actually made them into a nice shadow box so everything is nicely preserved um and obviously Madison's mom and dad are not together. So they actually came up, they did two of them. So they each have one for her and same with, um, Justin's family. Um, so yeah, sorry. No, no, as you say,

01:06:33 - 01:06:42 | Speaker 2:

Jace, uh, you were there at graduation. What was graduation like? Um, it was, it was a lot. Uh,

01:06:42 - 01:07:29 | Speaker 4:

I had to be there hours earlier for a rehearsal because I was singing with my choir group. And you just looked forward right in front of you, and there's two photos of them. And at the beginning of the graduation, Justin and Madison's family collected their shadow boxes. and um i don't know who's speaking but they talked about what madison's and justin's future was going to be like what their grades were like what they were um as students and as people and we got to um honor them well there's no doubt they were on a path to do some incredible things

01:07:29 - 01:07:50 | Speaker 1:

in their life as as were tate who you know being a football star and wrestler and and also hannah who we knew as a huge lover of music so many of her family and friends would write into their radio station asking us to dedicate songs because she there's still a 10-hour christmas music playlist she put together that you could find somewhere on spotify crystal how is your family

01:07:50 - 01:08:20 | Speaker 3:

um remembering madison today um well i mean we we today is not just the only day we remember her um we try to talk about her every day at least i do and i encourage everybody else to because Because today is not just the day she died, but, you know, we did lose her. But I, in my heart, believe they need to be talked about every single day. Because the second you stop talking is the second their memory dies.

01:08:22 - 01:08:26 | Speaker 2:

What would you tell us about Madison? Let's talk about it.

01:08:26 - 01:08:31 | Speaker 3:

Oh, geez. How much do you want to know? How much time do we got? That girl was one of a kind.

01:08:31 - 01:08:42 | Speaker 2:

um i mean do you remember do you remember your last conversation with her or do you remember one of the last big moments that you guys had together a family party or get together or

01:08:42 - 01:09:54 | Speaker 3:

anything yeah so it was the sunday before the 30th was her little sister's 11th birthday party and she was a big she was very competitive very competitive and we were just kind of sitting there she had a deck of cards and she's like you want she was playing solitaire and I asked her I said Madison have you ever played speed and she's like what and I said speed she goes well how do you play so I dealt out the cards and I showed her and we're going through and she's trying to keep up and she's like Aunt Crystal why are you going so fast and I said Madison did you hear the name of the game it's called speed so you got to be fast and um in true Madison form you know we played multiple times and I always when I say multiple I'm talking probably 20 plus because she was not going to stop until she won and the second she did win is when the game was over and she got up and she did her little Madison dance and I'm like you don't want to play again she's like nope I won I'm done and I'm like oh all right cool and then you know obviously she ended up having to leave and go to work and that was really the last time that I saw her

01:09:54 - 01:09:59 | Speaker 2:

Wow. Jace, do you want to remember specifics on any of your friends?

01:10:00 - 01:10:05 | Speaker 4:

And also those that were injured, too. I know that that's, we can't forget about them. A lie in the hospital, yeah.

01:10:11 - 01:11:08 | Speaker 3:

Sorry. I knew most of them through past spies. Either I had classes with them. I didn't really talk to them, but my older brother was really close with Justin. and I heard stories about their adventures and I really got to know Justin through him and his stories and I knew Madison because her cousin would show me the Snapchat videos of them I don't know what they're doing I think they're like doing piggyback rides in one of their bedrooms and i remember just like laughing in sixth hour about it and i never had the honor of meeting madison but you could just like see how joyful she was through just the video i swear

01:11:08 - 01:12:14 | Speaker 4:

to you i i see countless media videos that were shown over the last year and i'm sure today on local news it's going to be shown too and i would see all these kids and i would say to myself i know a kid just like you i know a kid just like you you know we know somebody just like them and i think of right now i think of this moment at 802 in the morning that they went to school in a place that they loved in a community that they loved nobody realized what was going to happen on this day in 2021 yeah and none of us knew what this was going to do to change our lives and i think what crystal what aunt crystal just said is so true we have to say the names every single day and we have to do it because so many of these horrible tragedies keep happening and we just keep moving on after this and that's why you know we especially locally here and i don't know what it was like in other communities you know i don't know what it's like in sandy hook and what people did there but i just feel like we have to we have to do this for for our our you

01:12:14 - 01:12:32 | Speaker 1:

listening area. We have to constantly do this. To respect and honor everyone from the first responders who ran into that building and the sheriffs to the staff and the teachers who did what they practiced a million times and hoped they would never have to do to the families and

01:12:32 - 01:12:45 | Speaker 5:

the community. The community of Oxford is incredible, by the way. I was there the other day and you still in it and and as it should be but you still see oxford strong everywhere you

01:12:45 - 01:12:55 | Speaker 1:

turn well and they're never going to get over this collective trauma you know and it's always going to be a part of their history that they didn't ask for but we have to not just let it

01:12:55 - 01:13:57 | Speaker 4:

fade from our memory we just granted a wish you guys for a young mom who lost her husband and she was talking about lights flickering and things in her house from you know her husband who was tragically killed in a car accident and this morning i'm getting ready for for work and i had a shirt that literally i have not seen in probably months i know i've worn it multiple times and i reach into my drawer to pick out what i'm gonna wear and it's dark and chelsea's sleeping so i keep the lights off and i reach in to pull out a dark shirt because i always wear like black or blue shirts crystal and jace and i pulled out this shirt oh my gosh and i didn't pick it it picked me and this is my oxford wildcats football i asked and it's tate's number 42 and i'm wearing it right now and i feel like that is exactly you know them talking to us yeah and i mean crystal this might happen to you do you feel like madison is speaking to you at times when a song is on the

01:13:57 - 01:14:58 | Speaker 2:

radio or or a light flickers in your house i'm not gonna lie you know and she will probably send some kind of sign after i say this but when she was younger she was a big justin bieber fan and when i say that i mean she had the life size cut out of him in her room forever and obviously she got older she grew out of that phase but after all of this happened he came out with the ghost song and that song even though i really did learn the meaning of why he wrote that song to me it resonates more than what he wrote the song for so every time i hear that and i'm not kidding you i never really heard it until after and there are multiple times a day or i'll be thinking about her and just randomly it comes on or i'll listen to it on this station and then i flip to another one and it's there and it's just oh that gives me chills yes so um obviously it's kind of you know been a little quieter on that front but yes for sure um appropriately then

01:14:58 - 01:14:59 | Speaker 4:

i'm playing it for

01:15:00 - 01:15:29 | Speaker 1:

well yeah that one and then obviously you know she did have another favorite one which is hold on by chord street which is another beautiful heart string yeah heart pulling you know string pulling song um but yeah she was i i don't know i think i just look too much for signs so maybe i miss them yeah well i never used to see the red cardinals and shortly after like they were i never saw birds in my yard and they were all red cardinals all over the place and i'm like oh okay

01:15:29 - 01:15:49 | Speaker 4:

whether it was or not that's what i took them as and crystal jace thank you guys so much our prayers for everybody in oxford oxford is strong and uh today they're going to need everybody to be strong for them uh we love you guys so much and and thank you for sharing uh

01:15:49 - 01:16:12 | Speaker 1:

your stories with us okay hey mojo can i ask one thing yes can you give a shout out to my son and daughter who were cousins of Madison. My son was actually rode to school with her that day and every day before. They bet I wouldn't say it. So I need to... What are their names? Their mom loves them. Mason and Marley. Mason and Marley.

01:16:13 - 01:16:21 | Speaker 4:

Bless you guys. And please tell Madison's mom and dad that we said that we're praying still for them.

01:16:21 - 01:16:23 | Speaker 1:

Will do. Thank you very much.

01:16:23 - 01:16:34 | Speaker 4:

Thanks, guys. Thanks, Jace. class of 2022 Oxford High School I am this close to getting that key lime pie made

01:16:34 - 01:16:35 | Speaker 3:

what is the update here

01:16:35 - 01:17:21 | Speaker 4:

I have been trying to track down because I know he won't do it for me because of the way we said we were going to do this thing yesterday on the show Spike talked about how his girlfriend is jealous over the fact that there was a key lime pie that was made that Spike had called and now he'll never do it ever again I'll never say this ever again about food, knowing that his girlfriend is not jealous about anything other than people cooking food for Spike. The key lime pie lady, I'm going to try to get a pie made from her, and then I want Spike's girlfriend, Megan, to make her key lime pie, and then I want to do a blind test test with Spike and have Spike tell us which key lime pie is the best, and then the best one wins, and God help you, it better be Megan's.

01:17:21 - 01:18:05 | Speaker 2:

Well, they reached out to me again last night. I think she heard about the conversation on the air, the other woman, because they asked me to host the charity event again. So I'm like, well, how can I say no? What was the charity again? So if you ever heard of, you know our old producer, Jen Sawala, who was an intern for us and now runs an executive producer for Ryan Seacrest and all his radio productions and everything. But her sister, Rachel, has a great organization called Can't Make a Dream. Yes. And they do amazing stuff for kids. But they have this dinner that's just a wonderful fundraiser in Rochester every year.

01:18:05 - 01:18:08 | Speaker 4:

And the Keyline Pie Lady was the one that was chairing that dinner, right?

01:18:08 - 01:18:12 | Speaker 2:

Yes. And she did a great job with her family of putting this whole thing together.

01:18:13 - 01:18:14 | Speaker 3:

Is this the one that was at the Silver Spoon?

01:18:14 - 01:18:14 | Speaker 2:

Yes.

01:18:15 - 01:18:17 | Speaker 3:

I just went there for the first time a couple of months ago.

01:18:17 - 01:18:17 | Speaker 2:

Isn't that great?

01:18:18 - 01:18:19 | Speaker 3:

It's seriously fabulous. Yeah.

01:18:19 - 01:18:24 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, and so they're doing it again in the spring. So they already reached out and asked me to host.

01:18:24 - 01:18:27 | Speaker 4:

What was it like yesterday when you got home after the conversation on the air?

01:18:28 - 01:18:43 | Speaker 2:

We had already had the whole conversation, so there wasn't too much tension because I already strongly and proudly declared that my girlfriend makes way better key lime pie than any other key lime pie woman in the past.

01:18:43 - 01:18:49 | Speaker 3:

Key lime pie woman. Doesn't sound like you're trying to save yourself at all.

01:18:49 - 01:18:56 | Speaker 2:

Well, it's funny because I want to be kind to Tricia who did that whole charity event because she really does make great pies, and she really-

01:18:56 - 01:19:01 | Speaker 4:

So then why did you say that was the best pie I've ever put in my mouth?

01:19:02 - 01:19:13 | Speaker 2:

That was before I ever had a key lime pie made by Meg. Meg loves to cook, loves to bake. I didn't realize she also made key lime pies.

01:19:13 - 01:19:17 | Speaker 4:

You know what I love about this? Yeah. How slow Spike is talking to me.

01:19:17 - 01:19:20 | Speaker 3:

He is everywhere before it comes out.

01:19:20 - 01:19:47 | Speaker 2:

Secretly, I think Mojo walked away from this building yesterday, bummed out that I wasn't in the doghouse. He's taking round two now to try and get me in trouble. Spike's in hell. And I'm sweating over here because I don't want to cut off the one most joyful thing in my life, which is when Meg cooks for me. Spike mistaken. I haven't cooked for myself in maybe like three months. I don't want to have to make my own lunch

01:19:47 - 01:19:50 | Speaker 3:

So when are we getting the pies Is the question

01:19:50 - 01:19:59 | Speaker 4:

So I want to do this I want to try to do this within the next Week because this is where We got to wrap it all up with a radio bow You know what I mean

01:20:00 - 01:20:31 | Speaker 1:

Like, you've got to have a good, like, moment like that. And then, you know, and then we can do that. And maybe we can raise some money, too, for that charity for Can't Make a Dream Again. So we can do something kind of cool. We should do a pie-off, too. That would be amazing. Could you imagine? We can turn this into something really big. For us. This could be. For us to get pie-off. I love any time that we can actually help out charity. But I love even more anytime that I'm not the one that's sweating like Spike sweating right now from from conversation that is like this.

01:20:31 - 01:20:46 | Speaker 2:

Well, if it's for the children, the cancer survivors and those who get a home away from home to have a summer camp and a summer vacation, if it's to raise awareness and money for them, I will eat the pies. I'm done. All right.

01:20:47 - 01:21:10 | Speaker 1:

So that's going to be good. That will be that will be a fun moment here on the on the show. By the way, it's kind of funny. You mentioned something yesterday, too, when we were talking about breakup or makeup. You mentioned that your girlfriend, Meg, actually, she volunteered your services without even asking you first for something?

01:21:10 - 01:22:34 | Speaker 2:

Yes, yes. And I did not know anything about it until it was already discussed as a done deal and it's happening. But apparently she volunteered me to be a wedding photographer. You said that. And here's the thing. I don't do photography of people. I'm not a portrait photographer. You've never done a wedding, have you? No. So I do nature. I do animals, mountains, all that stuff. I don't do people. So I'm kind of really stressed that I'm going to mess them up. and there's no redo on a wedding. I do plants. I do plants. Lots of them, yeah. But like I just, photography is my hobby, but I just like to go out in nature and create a nice little landscape. So who are these people that you're doing the wedding? So we're going to a wedding Saturday of our friends. It's actually one of Meg's coworkers, Sid, and he's getting married this weekend. His parents came in from India. It's like a beautiful affair. It's a big thing. Oh, God. And it's a big ceremony and I've... Why is he not paying for a wedding photographer? Well, because it's, I mean, you think about what it takes to, like, fly people in from India. There's thousands of dollars in flights. Trying to save some money. Yeah, and it's a small wedding. It's not, like, hundreds of people, but, you know, he has to rent the big temple and then do the big dinner afterwards.

01:22:35 - 01:22:38 | Speaker 1:

Do you have to dress up in any way for a wedding like this?

01:22:39 - 01:23:11 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I have to wear a suit. Do you have to wear a traditional Indian attire? I don't. Because you're the wedding photographer. Yeah, so I would like to because I always felt like it would hide my fat belly more to wear one of those beautiful robes. So I'm taking this under my belt and, like, realizing I haven't taken a picture of anything with my camera in, like, a year. So I need to get all the equipment out and figure out how to use it again. But it's a lot of stress because the thing is, she volunteered me to do this, and there's no second chance if I mess it up.

01:23:11 - 01:23:34 | Speaker 1:

I want to ask this question because this happened to us. I want to ask a question Who had the worst wedding photographer ever And tell us by telling us the story Of what did the wedding photographer do Because Chelsea and I have Two wedding photos From our wedding Because our wedding photographer got drunk at the wedding And that's all we got We got two photos Every time you tell this story

01:23:34 - 01:23:38 | Speaker 2:

I really want you guys to recreate some wedding photos Maybe we should

01:23:38 - 01:23:39 | Speaker 1:

Spike will you be the photographer

01:23:39 - 01:23:42 | Speaker 2:

No we know a lot of great photographers

01:23:42 - 01:23:44 | Speaker 1:

Take a picture of this animal over here.

01:23:44 - 01:24:03 | Speaker 2:

We knew so many good – you know, part of it I think also, God bless it, I think he just wasn't thinking of all the things – he hasn't been to American weddings to know everything that goes into it. So, like, they were planning all this on the fly because his parents were able to be here. So he didn't think of things like wedding and all the – I mean, like a photographer and all those things. Right.

01:24:03 - 01:24:08 | Speaker 1:

I think I met him at your house. You did, yeah. Yeah. And his mom and dad were in, too.

01:24:08 - 01:24:20 | Speaker 2:

His mom and dad were in. Some very nice people. And we had them for Thanksgiving dinner, which was really nice. They don't speak any English, so I'm going to have to figure out how. What did you guys do? Really? We ate a lot. But I have to figure out how.

01:24:20 - 01:24:21 | Speaker 1:

Did you just nod and smile a lot?

01:24:21 - 01:24:59 | Speaker 2:

Well, yeah. And we bonded over head games, head bands. What's that game show? Oh, heads up. Heads up. I love that game. I figured out that his dad could read English, so we played the game, and they just couldn't communicate otherwise. But the thing was, like, I have to figure out how to tell them how to pose for photographs and stuff. I mean, you can show them. So, well, you know, I'll just tell Sid to tell them. All right, tell everybody, move forward. Yeah. Dude, the pressure is on. I'm so nervous. I would not be able to sleep. Because I want to do well. I think it'll be a nice gift for them and to be able to preserve this day. I'm nervous I won't be able to preserve this day.

01:25:00 - 01:25:01 | Speaker 1:

I'm afraid I'm going to mess it all up.

01:25:02 - 01:25:05 | Speaker 3:

Mojo in the Morning, hi. I had the worst wedding photographer. How are you?

01:25:06 - 01:25:08 | Speaker 5:

Hi, I'm great. How are you guys doing?

01:25:08 - 01:25:09 | Speaker 3:

Good. Did you have a bad wedding photographer?

01:25:11 - 01:25:29 | Speaker 5:

Yes. He didn't give us our pictures back. He took pictures of all of our kids. We have eight kids. He took pictures of us, our kids. He took pictures of the venue, our guests. So when it was time for him to give us our pictures back, he played with me for like two or three weeks, and then he blocked me on Instagram, and he wouldn't respond.

01:25:29 - 01:25:32 | Speaker 3:

What do you think happened? Did you not pay him, or what's the story?

01:25:32 - 01:25:46 | Speaker 5:

We paid him. Everybody, like, for our wedding, everybody paid for us. So I paid for the photographer. It was like a guy she went to high school with, knew him for years. He took pictures of everything in my dress, the kids, everything. We don't know what any of the pictures look like.

01:25:46 - 01:25:48 | Speaker 3:

That's crazy. That's unbelievable.

01:25:48 - 01:25:50 | Speaker 1:

I hear so many bad stories about photographers.

01:25:51 - 01:25:51 | Speaker 3:

Ty, what's up?

01:25:53 - 01:26:00 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Yeah, I had the worst photographer. He brought his mother as his assistant. to help take pictures.

01:26:00 - 01:26:14 | Speaker 1:

I mean, that's not a bad thing if they've done a bunch of weddings and they know what they're doing. But the problem is a lot of people get a fancy camera and they call themselves a photographer and it's a side business and they don't have the hours. They don't know what they're doing and all that's involved in it.

01:26:15 - 01:26:36 | Speaker 5:

Exactly. So we did do engagement photos with him and they were great. And I guess the ambiance lent to his assistant. But the actual wedding was the worst. His mother didn't know what she was doing. He would ask other people for assistance and, like, ideas on how to stage us. Like, oh, what do you think? Have you seen some good pictures?

01:26:37 - 01:26:41 | Speaker 3:

Did the guy have a portfolio of other weddings that he did?

01:26:42 - 01:26:49 | Speaker 5:

He did, and it's a website and everything, and everyone else's pictures was so nice. He just didn't know. He was like, I just don't have to.

01:26:49 - 01:26:54 | Speaker 3:

I wonder if that was all fake. I wonder if it was all fake from other people that he did it with. Thanks for the call. Robin, hi.

01:26:55 - 01:26:59 | Speaker 4:

Hi, Mojo. How are you? Long-time listener, first-time caller. Yay. Awesome.

01:27:00 - 01:27:05 | Speaker 3:

We love that. We're talking about the bad wedding photographer, but yours is the videographer, right?

01:27:05 - 01:27:55 | Speaker 4:

Yep. I got married in October of 2005, and it happened to be a Saturday that was the Michigan-Michigan State game. Oh, boy. And it was like an afternoon game, which was really nervous to begin with. But my videographer went to the game, got totally wasted. Oh, no. I showed up at my wedding. It was completely obvious he was wasted. And when I got my video back, it was, like, shaky. Oh, my gosh. It was horrible. It was really horrible. I knew that game was going to mess with me some way on that wedding. Why would he think that was a good idea? Why? I don't think he thought it was a good idea. I don't think he was eating it at all. Yeah. Can I tell you? It was a Michigan State win.

01:27:55 - 01:28:00 | Speaker 3:

Oh, go green. Aru's got the funniest one. Aru?

01:28:01 - 01:28:02 | Speaker 6:

Hi, hi there.

01:28:02 - 01:28:05 | Speaker 3:

How you doing? Aru, tell us about the bad wedding photographer.

01:28:06 - 01:28:13 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. It was actually a videographer and a DJ. So both of them got hammered at my wedding.

01:28:13 - 01:28:13 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my gosh.

01:28:13 - 01:28:22 | Speaker 6:

It was an Indian wedding. and the videographer accidentally pointed the camera the opposite way during the wedding speeches.

01:28:22 - 01:28:23 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my gosh.

01:28:24 - 01:28:41 | Speaker 6:

For not preparing. And then at the end of the wedding, the DJ got so wasted, he just laid on top of the DJ table. He said, shots at the bar, shots at the bar. Wow. My goodness. My conservative Indian family.

01:28:42 - 01:29:08 | Speaker 1:

That's going to be used by... No, well, luckily, the ceremony's at noon. I will not touch alcohol before, but you better believe I'm going to get drunk at that dinner when it's all done. But Aru, these ceremonies are very intricate and long. And I've been to one Indian wedding before, and the bride rode in on elephants. And it's like there's a band, and it's like a six-hour ordeal.

01:29:09 - 01:29:20 | Speaker 6:

Of course, yeah. Actually, it was for my wedding, so I married an American girl, so we had to do the American ceremony and the Indian ceremony, so it was a four-day ordeal.

01:29:20 - 01:29:22 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. Wow.

01:29:22 - 01:29:24 | Speaker 1:

I'm going to have to bring some snacks in my camera bag.

01:29:26 - 01:29:29 | Speaker 2:

It's going to be fun. All right, it's Mojo on the Morning Show.

01:29:30 - 01:29:33 | Speaker 1:

I don't even know where it is. I've got to find out.

01:29:33 - 01:29:39 | Speaker 2:

That'd be the first bad part. Mojo on the Morning Show.

01:29:39 - 01:29:46 | Speaker 3:

It is now time for another What Did Smith Do moment. Smith is Shannon's son.

01:29:47 - 01:29:48 | Speaker 4:

And he's five.

01:29:48 - 01:29:53 | Speaker 3:

He gives us great moments to talk about here on the radio. What's the latest from Smith?

01:29:53 - 01:30:00 | Speaker 4:

Well, I took the kids out to dinner. And I always make sure that they're...

01:30:00 - 01:30:37 | Speaker 1:

They're prepared to order themselves and that they use, you know, their good manners and whatnot. And usually when my kids order drinks, they will either order water or milk or Shirley Temples. Okay, very fancy. So it comes time for Smith to order his drink and totally serious, he looks at the waitress and says, I'll have the haul, please. Now, the haul is the wine that Andrew, my ex-husband, orders any time he goes out to send her. So my five-year-old son ordered wine with a totally straight look on his face.

01:30:37 - 01:30:40 | Speaker 5:

Did the waitress know what he was saying, or did you have to repeat it again?

01:30:41 - 01:30:53 | Speaker 1:

She asked him to repeat it, and he did. There was absolutely nothing wrong with what he was ordering. And then she proceeded to burst out laughing because, obviously, she's not getting that to him.

01:30:53 - 01:30:59 | Speaker 4:

I'm going to have to call your son next time. I have a hard time interpreting the wine list sometimes. I don't know if I want something dry or something.

01:30:59 - 01:31:06 | Speaker 1:

Because he listens to dad order. And mom, I can't leave myself out of that. But yep, he knew the name of the wine. It's funny.

01:31:06 - 01:32:02 | Speaker 5:

I remember as a little kid going out with my parents, and I could tell you exactly what my parents drank. Like my dad was a Manhattan drinker, okay? So he drank Manhattans. And my mom was a martini with three olives drinker. And they would always order. And I remember as a little kid, I would get so excited over the fact that they were ordering drinks, maybe because that was the only time that I felt like we were fun as a family is when my parents were drinking. But it's but it's wild because I don't know alcohol very well. Like I have a couple of drinks that I'll drink, you know, and sometimes, you know, they're usually 40 cocktails. Does Smith Get excited When I see people drink wine I always want to know Why is it that they give them That little first little dab of it Like the waiter or waitress gives it to them They swirl it around in the cup They sniff it They take a drink Does anybody ever go And then drink and go I've never seen that before

01:32:02 - 01:32:11 | Speaker 4:

I've seen that My sister-in-law drinks wine on the regular And she knew I wouldn't like this Especially, I guess, if you're at a fancy restaurant.

01:32:11 - 01:32:14 | Speaker 5:

Even if they open up a brand new bottle that's meant for them, they would actually send it back.

01:32:14 - 01:32:19 | Speaker 1:

I mean, my girlfriend worked with wine for years and years, and she said they can go bad if they smell vinegary or taste vinegary.

01:32:19 - 01:32:33 | Speaker 4:

And we were at a nice restaurant. We were at a Morton Steakhouse celebrating my brother's birthday. So then she knows by smelling it or a little sip if she's going to like it or not before they pour a whole $200 bottle for you or whatever. I don't know what it was. I'm not a big wine drinker.

01:32:33 - 01:32:38 | Speaker 5:

Megan, are you fancy like that? Do you ever do that? Do you ever do the sniff and the swoosh and all that stuff?

01:32:38 - 01:33:03 | Speaker 6:

No, one time I went to a restaurant, and I ordered a glass of wine, and they corrected me on how to pronounce it. Couldn't even tell you what it was, but I was so embarrassed, I never ordered wine in public. You just do the point. You just do the point. Thanks to, what was that show? Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, right? Yeah. You remember Titus? Yeah. He's just saying, Pinot Noir, and now I'll only order a Pinot Noir because I know how to pronounce it because he sang it so many times.

01:33:03 - 01:33:20 | Speaker 5:

The Pinot Noir. By the way, my favorite was Chelsea's grandfather used to say, no good wine comes in anything other than a box. And he would actually drink box wine. And honestly, I, for some reason, would love the taste of some of that stuff. What's going on, David? What's happening?

01:33:21 - 01:33:32 | Speaker 3:

When I was a kid, my dad would drink Coors Light. I ordered Coors Light for dinner one time. They brought me apple juice. I thought apple juice was Coors Light for years.

01:33:32 - 01:33:40 | Speaker 5:

isn't that fun to be a kid god just think of all those days uh what's happening terry how you doing

01:33:40 - 01:34:04 | Speaker 2:

i'm good thank you when my son was in preschool they asked him what his favorite food was and all the kids are like chicken nuggets pizza uh grilled cheese peanut butter jelly and my son says shrimp and he's just like what and they're like swim he was trying to say shrimp you guys are fancy in that house huh i'm telling you right i was that was the uh beginning of the

01:34:04 - 01:34:40 | Speaker 5:

end that's the that's the best funny my favorite was in school this reminds me of this terry my favorite was we had a kid kevin latech who i love when you use full names kids would bring into school leftover pizza from the night before mom's spaghetti all that stuff kevin latech would Bring in fish Oh no And he would come to school And it was mom's mahi mahi Or something like that In a school lunchbox In a school lunchbox And I keep thinking My husband's like Kevin What in the heck is that What is that all about

01:34:40 - 01:35:00 | Speaker 2:

My son brought barbecued ribs for snack one day For snack The teacher he insisted And I'm like no snack There's not a microwave it's a snack And he goes, I want ribs. So I cut the bone. The teacher went and got other teachers to say, look at this kid.

01:35:00 - 01:35:01 | Speaker 6:

He has the ribs.

01:35:03 - 01:35:04 | Speaker 4:

It is so great.

01:35:04 - 01:35:07 | Speaker 6:

You have to pick your argument. Yes, you do.

01:35:08 - 01:35:10 | Speaker 4:

Thank you for the call. Jen, what's happening?

01:35:12 - 01:35:13 | Speaker 6:

Hey, Mojo. How are you guys doing?

01:35:13 - 01:35:14 | Speaker 4:

We're good. What's going on?

01:35:15 - 01:35:37 | Speaker 6:

I was just calling about the wine. My dad is such a wine snob. When we go out to dinner, he'll ask about the wines. He'll ask about the specials. Then he'll want to taste three or four different wines. And then he'll complain that he likes one wine But it's kind of stale Is it a new bottle Can they open a new bottle It's like a half an hour process Just to get drinks

01:35:37 - 01:35:40 | Speaker 4:

Do you think he's doing it just to be a pain in the ass

01:35:40 - 01:35:44 | Speaker 6:

He's 83 I think he's just a pain in the ass

01:35:44 - 01:35:50 | Speaker 4:

Perfect Thank you for the call Take care of yourself

01:35:50 - 01:35:52 | Speaker 6:

I love you guys We love you too

01:35:52 - 01:35:55 | Speaker 4:

What's happening Michelle

01:35:55 - 01:35:57 | Speaker 7:

Hello

01:35:57 - 01:36:02 | Speaker 4:

guys how are you good we're good what's up how are you oh my god is this the crazy italian

01:36:02 - 01:37:11 | Speaker 7:

it's me honey hi michelle how you doing hi i'm doing great i'm doing really well i had to call first of all and shout out oxford because we were there together last year yes we were yes we were what an amazing community everyone there and i want to shout out lake orion for being so strong with them as well yeah lake orion has stepped up i just together these communities will get through anything you know but what i'm really calling for is again turn this around to a funny moment i have a 22 21 and two 21 year old boys they came in with a box of wine they're like we're gonna have wine i'm like what my god that's great i'll get the glasses they said no mom haven't you ever slapped the bag excuse me we're going to do what they open the box they take out the bladder that's inside and you have to slap the bag and take it and pour it in your mouth needless to say my 22 year old vomited all night like that but that was funny when you mentioned the box i'm like no no no my kids drink the box

01:37:11 - 01:37:18 | Speaker 4:

of wine mojo we're only we have fancy families aren't we michelle yeah we are fancy our pinky

01:37:18 - 01:37:19 | Speaker 7:

He was up, too, while we were playing.

01:37:19 - 01:37:23 | Speaker 4:

That's right. Exactly. Love you so much, Michelle. What's up, George?

01:37:24 - 01:37:55 | Speaker 5:

Hey, how are you guys doing this morning? Good. What's going on? I tell you, you know, as my kids were always taught to try everything before saying you didn't like it, well, they became very good eaters at a young age. And I always had to let them order first because they had a habit of ordering two pounds of crab legs each, stuff like that. And at seven years old, I spent more time cracking his crab legs than eating my meal. So I was more of a free bread and water guy while they were eating.

01:37:55 - 01:38:21 | Speaker 4:

Same with me. I know. Can I tell you something? We were on a family vacation. We went out for, I think it was Chelsea's birthday or somebody like that. And we went to a restaurant. And Luke, we used to have to stop Luke from doing this. He would always order anything that said market price. Oh, my God. because he thought it was so cool to see the look on my face to say, who the hell ordered this?

01:38:21 - 01:38:25 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, if you see MP on the menu, it means it's so expensive they don't want to tell you.

01:38:25 - 01:38:30 | Speaker 4:

And so it came to a point where Chelsea would get in on the joke and I'd be like, Chelsea, this is not funny. Like, this is your money too.

01:38:31 - 01:38:31 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

01:38:32 - 01:38:50 | Speaker 1:

You know what's so funny is I'm totally the opposite when I go out with my kids and Wes has finally just realized this about me. I don't usually order anything, nothing. I will order a drink and that's it. And he, at first, would ask me, why do you do that? Are you not hungry? Are you not eating? It's because my kids take three bites, and then I end up just eating the rest of their food.

01:38:50 - 01:38:52 | Speaker 4:

See, I order something and eat all the time.

01:38:55 - 01:38:57 | Speaker 3:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

01:38:57 - 01:39:04 | Speaker 4:

Shannon has the Dirty on the 30, and we'll grab the 95th caller for Mojo's Missile Dough and Jingle Ball tickets right now.

01:39:05 - 01:39:38 | Speaker 1:

I want to start with this. Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, has ordered all flags at the Capitol. be lowered to half staff today and memory of the four oxford high school students who lost their lives in that horrific shooting last year on this very day so state residents schools businesses local government buildings are all encouraged to do the same the governor said one year later we honor the memories of hannah tate madison and justin and we reaffirm our commitment to holding the oxford community close you might remember this moment with the governor from last year

01:39:38 - 01:39:55 | Speaker 2:

My heart goes out to the families. This is an unimaginable tragedy. I hope that we can all rise to the occasion and wrap our arms around the families, the affected children and school personnel, and this community.

01:39:56 - 01:40:00 | Speaker 6:

And I can tell you're so deeply affected by this. Talk to us about that. I think this is it.

01:40:00 - 01:40:01 | Speaker 1:

Every parent's worst nightmare.

01:40:03 - 01:40:35 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, and again, if you want to hear our conversation from earlier in the show with Madison's aunts and Jace from the Oxford High School class of 2022, you can listen to those on our podcast page. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have finally finalized their divorce. Some of the details here, they're going to have joint custody with equal access to their four kids. However, Kim will continue to have the kids 80% of the time, as she does right now and as she has for the past year or so. So Kanye going to have to pay Kim $200,000 a month in child support, which is just mind-blowing to me.

01:40:35 - 01:40:39 | Speaker 1:

Explain that to me when you're both billionaires and there is child support?

01:40:39 - 01:40:45 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, they both waived spousal support, but there is child support there. So I don't know how they figured that out, to be honest.

01:40:45 - 01:40:49 | Speaker 1:

I would just have thought that they'd just say, all right, we're all paying for everything.

01:40:49 - 01:41:14 | Speaker 2:

And on top of that, he's responsible for 50% of the children's educational expenses, like tuition, and also for their security expenses. And something else here too Kanye, I don't know if you remember this Spent like four and a half million bucks to buy the house next door to Kim After she filed for divorce He has now decided to give that up in their settlement So Ye is going to transfer the title of that five bedroom home to Kim And she's going to be responsible for all of the expenses for that

01:41:14 - 01:41:28 | Speaker 1:

We were talking last night, one of Chelsea's friends Gets only $163 a month child support Single mom teacher And that's all she gets, $163. And Kanye is paying $200,000.

01:41:28 - 01:42:37 | Speaker 2:

$200,000. Yeah. Crazy. Kate Hudson is reflecting on co-parenting her three children with their three different fathers. She shares her 18-year-old son, Ryder, with her ex-husband, Chris Robinson, her 11-year-old son, Bingham, with her ex-fiance, Matt Bellamy, and her four-year-old daughter, Rainy Rose, with her current fiance, Danny Fujikawa. And Kate said it might not look very traditional from the outside, But on the inside, she said, I feel like we are killing it. She said, the unit that she has created with each of the dads is a seriously strong unit. And she said, my goal in life is that I want to feel love and I want to give love, but I'm also practical. So one day at a time, she said, I work really hard at successful relationships because I like them. By the way, this upcoming baseball season is one where we're going to have to say goodbye to a good one. Miguel Cabrera is done. The Tigers' future Hall of Famer said in a press conference this week that the 2023 season is going to be his last. It is the final year of his contract. He said, I thought, I'm not going to say never, but I think it is time to say goodbye to baseball.

01:42:37 - 01:42:46 | Speaker 1:

And he had a good season last year, which was actually nice to see. I thought that he might want to end on that note, but no, he's going to come back, he's going to grab that cash, and then he's going to leave us. Right.

01:42:47 - 01:42:54 | Speaker 2:

And in other Sports Dirty this morning, I've got an update for you on Christian Pulisic, who scored a winning goal for the United States.

01:42:54 - 01:42:55 | Speaker 1:

And hurt his privates in the park.

01:42:56 - 01:43:08 | Speaker 2:

Smashing into the goalkeeper yesterday. If you somehow missed this news, the U.S. soccer team advanced to the knockout round of the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Iran. Oh, I'm playing the wrong one.

01:43:09 - 01:43:15 | Speaker 1:

Austin McKay, Dess making a big run. It's meant for him. Dess is stuck in behind. Dess in the middle. Pulisic scores!

01:43:15 - 01:43:33 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, so he, I mean, he laid there for a couple of minutes, wound up needing medical treatment and was taken to the hospital. Turns out he has a pelvic contusion, so his status has been listed as day-to-day for right now. The U.S. is going to play the Netherlands on Saturday.

01:43:33 - 01:44:14 | Speaker 1:

By the way, that was such an exciting, you know, time to see that the U.S. won. Because if they would have scored, or if they would have 0-0 tied, then, you know, the Iranian team ends up winning because they could have withstood a draw. And I'm going to ask this question. Who did we root against more? Did we root against the Iranian team or the Ohio State Buckeyes this past weekend? Like, if the Ohio State Buckeyes football team was playing the Iranian soccer team, which ones are we rooting against more? Oh, I don't know. I don't know. Both probably, you know, in the same. I don't know. Both needed to lose.

01:44:14 - 01:44:18 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. For all of today's Dirty, check out the Dirty page on legendtheworning.com.

01:44:18 - 01:45:33 | Speaker 1:

Did you see, I was watching ABC this morning, the Good Morning America show, and they did a story about the players don't want to fly back now. Tyranton, because they're all fearful over, you know, them not singing the national anthem at the first game and what could happen to them. All right. 01:45:39 - 01:45:44 | Speaker 2:

He just pulled it in. It's not me anymore. He does it as much as I do.

01:45:46 - 01:46:17 | Speaker 1:

Actually, I don't because I gave up any dairy. No more dairy in my life. I'm not dairy in it anymore. Even coconut milk, which I know you guys say is not dairy, but it was giving me that. I get out there and milk my coconuts every week No, it could be I mean, I don't know what it is for you But it was for me So, breaking our Christmas wish Let me get back to that real quick Because Lydia is going to kill me If I don't solicit for this And speaking of killing I know it's a bad segue Lydia, come punch me in the nose Will you?

01:46:18 - 01:46:22 | Speaker 2:

You know she's so stressed out this week She's been killing it, hasn't she? She is amazing

01:46:22 - 01:46:27 | Speaker 3:

I'm really burned out but I'm actually loving this high on the burnout I'm on right now. Are you really?

01:46:28 - 01:46:57 | Speaker 2:

I've learned one thing about Lydia. She can handle stress under pressure. She is with grace because she's doing our breaking and entering Christmas wishes, making sure instrumental to make sure every family gets exactly what they want and everything's followed through and all the research involved in making them happen. She's also handling the Channel 955 Jingle Ball and handling our big concert next week. Sending the tickets out. No, it's not just sending the tickets out. She's in charge of the thing that day She's in charge Everybody that is in that marketing department is away and out

01:46:57 - 01:47:03 | Speaker 1:

Everybody in the marketing department There's two people Our two biggest morning show events in the building

01:47:03 - 01:47:05 | Speaker 3:

But the other thing that Lydia is dealing with is finals

01:47:05 - 01:47:08 | Speaker 2:

This week is her finals week

01:47:08 - 01:47:11 | Speaker 3:

I have one due on Friday And I feel like I have to throw up

01:47:11 - 01:47:17 | Speaker 1:

She's got finals going on Who's your professor? I'll pay him off just to give you Or her off to give you a good grade

01:47:17 - 01:47:28 | Speaker 3:

Do we give her a plug? She listens Courtney Spivik What's the class? It's audio production. Oh, girl. Wayne State? Yeah, Wayne State. All right, here's the deal. Why doesn't she just give you an A? All the stuff you do here.

01:47:29 - 01:47:37 | Speaker 1:

If you, can we give her work experience? Can we help her with work experience on this one? She is literally, so let me tell you what Lydia's doing. What's the professor's name again?

01:47:38 - 01:47:39 | Speaker 3:

Professor Spivik.

01:47:40 - 01:48:07 | Speaker 1:

All right, professor. Every wish that we're granting, she goes out and gets every single item, including a wish that you're going to hear in just a few moments here. Well, the one particular wish that she is working on, a police officer tragically shot and killed in the line of duty just recently. It's a major story that happened. And the family cannot afford a headstone for this officer, this hero.

01:48:07 - 01:48:08 | Speaker 2:

And they're expensive.

01:48:08 - 01:48:28 | Speaker 1:

And so let me say this. This is where Lydia comes into play. Lydia has asked me to go on the air and see if any of our listeners work in the headstone business or cemetery business or no, and that would be willing to donate to the family, right? It's a fallen police officer, right, Lydia?

01:48:28 - 01:48:29 | Unknown:

Yeah.

01:48:29 - 01:49:30 | Speaker 1:

Would you be willing to donate a headstone for this family? And listen, I'll give you a write-off if you want for Breaking Enter and Christmas Wish. It's a 501c3. you can write it off if you could do this will you text us at 95500 they're they're expensive like spike said they're they're expensive and obviously because they're they're crafted and beautiful and all the rest and they're great remembrance for his wife and children this man was unbelievable and we will shout you out on the air when we grant the wish we'll do anything listen i'll come dig a grave for you if you need me to whatever you need me to do i don't know what you need me to do well i'm working it shout out is guys i yes i'm working in a red robin with you guys on thursday for breaking any christmas wish do you realize what we'll do for people we'll do this because we love our listeners so much so if you can do that and then let's go back to this professor this professor can be a little uh a little loving with

01:49:30 - 01:49:35 | Speaker 3:

lydia handle with care handle we call it in our house handle with care she's learned a lot from

01:49:35 - 01:49:40 | Speaker 1:

you so she's and Wayne State's done a great job with you you know actually she's used us as an

01:49:40 - 01:49:47 | Speaker 3:

example for some of her lectures is that like how is this an off-air conversation

01:49:47 - 01:49:53 | Speaker 1:

scenario yeah what well like give can you can you give us the example because I'd love to know

01:49:53 - 01:50:00 | Speaker 3:

just like our intros and our outros things like that really I love it I'm kind of excited about this.

01:50:00 - 01:50:07 | Speaker 1:

Wait, hold on before I actually get excited about this professor. Does she compliment them? Right? Say, this is what not to do.

01:50:08 - 01:50:14 | Speaker 4:

No, she just, like, uses it as an example. She doesn't count. And then she'll plug us, though. She'll be like, oh, Lydia works with Mojo in the morning.

01:50:15 - 01:50:18 | Speaker 2:

Oh, sure. That school gets all that tuition money, and we're educating the youth of America.

01:50:18 - 01:50:25 | Speaker 1:

No, no. She noticed that Lydia did not say. She actually did not say whether it's a compliment. Right, right.

01:50:25 - 01:50:26 | Speaker 2:

Here's what not to do.

01:50:27 - 01:50:36 | Speaker 1:

Mojo's clearing his throat on the air. All right. Thank you, guys, by the way. If you can do this, if you can help us, please break and enter in Christmas wish. It would mean so much.

01:50:36 - 01:50:39 | Speaker 2:

That headstone for a cemetery, which state is it in?

01:50:40 - 01:50:42 | Speaker 1:

It is in Michigan. It's Detroit.

01:50:43 - 01:50:44 | Speaker 2:

Oh, okay. Okay.

01:50:44 - 01:50:46 | Speaker 1:

So if anybody can help out, please.

01:50:46 - 01:50:47 | Speaker 2:

I think I might have a lead. All right.

01:50:48 - 01:51:41 | Speaker 1:

Mojo in the Morning Show. I found this to be so fascinating, and I brought it up to you guys off the air. And when I did, I think we all got the tingles. You know, it's the time of the year where you're probably getting more and more packages delivered to your house. Matter of fact, they're probably coming in droves to you. Listen to this stat. Delivery fantasies for package delivery services. This is the busiest time of the year, which means that people are seeing more delivery drivers. and it's not just packages that people are looking forward to 37 of americans have daydreamed about hooking up with the delivery driver who brought it on their truck

01:51:41 - 01:51:54 | Speaker 3:

my amazon driver is hot really straight up he is very attractive do you get the same amazon driver all the time not all of the time but he comes to my neighborhood pretty regularly and what does he

01:51:54 - 01:52:03 | Speaker 1:

01:52:03 - 01:52:15 | Speaker 3:

yeah and he's got like long hair and he like pulls it back into this like low kind of ponytail situation it's very muscular all right so you're one of the 37 37 percent of americans who daydream

01:52:15 - 01:52:23 | Speaker 1:

01:52:34 - 01:53:04 | Speaker 1:

just watch the ring over and over again in slow motion all right here's here's the question of questions because i when i brought this up this morning i think we all got excited because we could picture a phone call like this coming through to us which by the way if you're somebody that has ever, you know, if you're hot for your delivery driver, you can call us. But if you've ever tried to seduce your delivery driver, you've got to call us too. Has anybody ever hooked up with their delivery driver? We'll voice disguise you. Or any delivery drivers. Yes, you're

01:53:04 - 01:53:08 | Speaker 3:

right. We will voice disguise you. We want the stories bad. You can use a fake name,

01:53:08 - 01:54:23 | Speaker 1:

whatever it takes. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548, or text is 95500. Mojo in the Morning, hello.

01:54:25 - 01:54:26 | Unknown:

Hello, is this Mojo in the Morning?

01:54:26 - 01:54:28 | Speaker 1:

Yes, how are you? Yes.

01:54:29 - 01:54:31 | Speaker 3:

Hi, so I'm on Earth.

01:54:31 - 01:54:44 | Speaker 1:

Where are you calling us from, space? Yeah, I think so. Are you on the International Space Station right now listening to us? Hey, no. Oh, that's bad.

01:54:44 - 01:54:45 | Speaker 2:

01:55:00 - 01:55:00 | Speaker 5:

I don't know.

01:55:00 - 01:55:15 | Speaker 2:

01:56:31 - 01:57:11 | Speaker 5:

take care of yourself what's up stephanie hi what's going on stephanie uh so three years ago um i i actually left my i i really just want to say it was a guy i was in a relationship with but I left my husband for the UPS guy. Wow. No way. And did he deliver? Wait, how did this start? Like, how did this little relationship start with the UPS guy? Okay, well, I have kind of an obsession with, like, really, like, cheesy old school porns, you know? Like, the porns that are, like, really cheesy.

01:57:12 - 01:57:15 | Speaker 2:

Like the delivery guy coming to your house and delivering. Yes, exactly.

01:57:16 - 01:57:37 | Speaker 5:

I don't know. I got a little in my head. And I don't, he just, he kind of was that guy. Wow. So how did you make the first move? I really, it was kind of a joke. I was just like, oh, is that package for me? And, you know, we just really hit it off. And I just kept ordering stuff.

01:57:38 - 01:57:42 | Speaker 2:

And would you guys bang in your house while your husband was at work? Or what would you do?

01:57:42 - 01:57:45 | Speaker 5:

No, no. I left him first.

01:57:45 - 01:57:47 | Speaker 2:

You left him before you started fooling around.

01:57:48 - 01:57:50 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I mean, I was married.

01:57:51 - 01:57:55 | Speaker 2:

But was the UPS guy married or was he single?

01:57:55 - 01:57:56 | Speaker 5:

No, he was single.

01:57:56 - 01:57:58 | Speaker 2:

And now you guys are together?

01:57:59 - 01:58:02 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. Have you ever made him wear the brown in the bedroom? Oh, yeah.

01:58:04 - 01:58:09 | Speaker 2:

I like it all started because she likes cheesy porn. It really works.

01:58:10 - 01:58:12 | Speaker 1:

I never in a million years thought that actually happened.

01:58:12 - 01:58:18 | Speaker 2:

It's amazing. Nicole actually says that her mom Used to do the UPS guy Is that right?

01:58:20 - 01:58:21 | Speaker 3:

Yeah that's right

01:58:21 - 01:58:24 | Speaker 2:

Oh my god look at these guys

01:58:24 - 01:58:41 | Speaker 3:

I was like 8 years old So I really didn't know But like it all started Like we'd wave to him you know when we saw him In the neighborhood and like They just would get to talking And yeah his name was Chuck And yeah they did for like a couple years Wait did you ever

01:58:41 - 01:58:46 | Speaker 2:

Did you ever see Chuck, the UPS guy, walking out of your mom's bedroom as an eight-year-old?

01:58:47 - 01:58:49 | Speaker 4:

No, no. She would have been super sneaky.

01:58:53 - 01:58:57 | Speaker 2:

Oh, mom. You got to love it. Well, thank you for the call. So it works. All right.

01:58:57 - 01:58:59 | Speaker 6:

Thanks, guys. Take care.

01:58:59 - 01:59:02 | Speaker 2:

Megan, seduce the Amazon guy and see what happens.

01:59:02 - 01:59:02 | Speaker 6:

Wow.

01:59:03 - 01:59:03 | Speaker 2:

All right.

01:59:03 - 01:59:04 | Speaker 6:

Those calls are amazing.

01:59:04 - 01:59:08 | Speaker 5:

What you just said was, Megan, please buy more things off of me. Yeah, exactly.

01:59:11 - 01:59:45 | Speaker 2:

mojo the morning show yow mike driving the uh the old espn vehicle to and from grand rapids to toledo into detroit by the way it's it's so much fun isn't it to drive another radio station's vehicle which some people are probably going wait a second ESPN but yeah we got the sports station right

01:59:45 - 01:59:59 | Speaker 1:

yeah in West Michigan ESPN 961 is is there they don't have a lot of people that drive the truck there and I needed a truck to get back and forth and they were so gracious to let me use it do you actually pretend like you are somebody from ESPN when you're driving this thing so I was

02:00:00 - 02:00:19 | Speaker 5:

I had a gas station yesterday, and this guy comes up to me, and I found out his name was Ricky, but he comes up to me, and he's like, hey, do you ever hang out with the people on TV there? And without hesitation, I was like, oh, yeah, yeah, I actually write for Stephen A. Smith, and I hype him up every now and then, thinking he's going to be like. That's awesome.

02:00:19 - 02:00:20 | Speaker 3:

You live for this.

02:00:20 - 02:01:02 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, thinking he's going to be like, yeah, ha, ha, ha, and laugh it off, but he was dead serious. He started asking me questions. He's like, he's like, what does he, what do you do to hype him up? I'm like, well, I walk in and I tell him something and he starts giving me his normal voice. I said, that's not his real voice. You know that, right? And he goes, what? I go, yeah, he's much quieter. He's much quieter in person. But when you got to get him hyped up, you got to get him going. So he starts doing this voice and he starts talking like this. You got to hype him up. He's like, no way. He's like, what time do you got to get there? I was like, well, I'm flying out tomorrow. So I'm just driving this around. I got some stuff I got to do here. And he's like, you probably came for the Michigan game, huh? And I was like, yes, that's exactly why I was here.

02:01:02 - 02:01:04 | Speaker 3:

Elias just came so easily to you.

02:01:04 - 02:01:17 | Speaker 4:

So easily, yes. That's it. My favorite is being able to drive another radio station's vehicle because then I can drive like an a-hole and nobody ever gets associated on our show with that.

02:01:17 - 02:01:28 | Speaker 2:

No, they'll write you out to your bosses and then your bosses goes, who's driving that vehicle? And then you have to own up to it. and then you get something on your record written up here at work and it stays with you for a while.

02:01:28 - 02:01:30 | Speaker 3:

Sounds like somebody's experienced this.

02:01:30 - 02:01:39 | Speaker 2:

I might have been running late to Mojo in the morning one morning while driving a station vehicle that was not Kiss FM's and I got ratted out on Facebook and written up and y'all are rude.

02:01:40 - 02:01:42 | Speaker 3:

Well, did you get caught by the red light camera? Are you speeding? What's going on?

02:01:42 - 02:01:48 | Speaker 2:

No, it was just a person driving by who was being a little booty hole. Little bitch.

02:01:49 - 02:01:52 | Speaker 3:

Because you can't give another driver the finger while you're in the Christmas station vehicle.

02:01:52 - 02:02:09 | Speaker 2:

I did it. It was 5 o'clock in the morning. I am so mad about this because he had an open lane he could have. Anyways, anyways. What do you say the speed limit is on the expressways in Michigan? Not what the posted speed limit is. What is the actual speed limit?

02:02:10 - 02:02:14 | Speaker 3:

You know you're in the wrong, though, right? Answer my question. 80.

02:02:14 - 02:02:20 | Speaker 2:

80. I was driving 80, and he reported me to the station for going 10 over the speed limit, and I'm really upset about it.

02:02:20 - 02:02:26 | Speaker 5:

I didn't know they actually saved those That is brand new information That's good to know

02:02:26 - 02:03:01 | Speaker 4:

Listen, I remember one time Somebody was driving one of our vehicles And they were driving erratically and crazy And it was Paul, our old boss Paul Corvino gets the phone call And he answers the phone and he's like, hello And they're like, yes, I'm looking for the boss of iHeart He goes, well, this is the boss And the person's screaming and yelling And Paul goes That was me driving the thing because he was waiting for his new jeep to come in from zat and so he was driving the station vehicle to and from so oh here you go here's steven a is this steven a smith

02:03:01 - 02:03:06 | Speaker 5:

oh if you guys know this is that his real voice

02:03:06 - 02:03:29 | Speaker 1:

stay off the damn where does he work by the way in the building there is he there is he in one of those studios

02:03:29 - 02:03:44 | Speaker 5:

oh he's got his own studio actually it might look like he's in studio but he's actually it's green screened so he's in a side studio this guy believed me so much that i didn't want to tell him the truth like i i didn't want to break his heart well listen i know there's a lot of people

02:03:44 - 02:04:00 | Speaker 4:

at this time of the year that work at the malls and they're probably asked where santa is you know so that's kind of uh stephen a is our santa claus yeah i get asked when ryan seacrest comes in do you really oh yeah do people do you ever tell him that ryan's like he's down the hall right or

02:04:00 - 02:04:10 | Speaker 2:

he said no he's he's at the spaghetti factory having lunch don't bring that up right now uh You know what, I always say, yeah, we share a studio. He comes in, he kicks me out.

02:04:10 - 02:04:19 | Speaker 4:

That's funny. You were at the mall yesterday and witnessed something kind of interesting. We weren't driving a station vehicle, but what were you witnessing?

02:04:20 - 02:05:10 | Speaker 2:

I wasn't driving a station vehicle, thank God, because this was the weirdest interaction I've had in a while. Because I was out, I was getting ready for Jingle Ball, and I had to run into the mall really quickly to pick up a few things last minute. And it's like I was there around three o'clock yesterday and I see these four guys standing kind of in a huddle right next to my car. Now, I'm going to be honest, I got a little bit nervous. I was like, why are y'all huddling up? What's going on? There's nothing valuable in my car. Please walk away. It's just old paint cans. And all of a sudden I see all of them, their hands go up and their heads go back. And I realize all four of them are. shotgunning Bud Light big boys at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at the mall. And I had so many questions.

02:05:10 - 02:05:11 | Speaker 3:

What are you judging for?

02:05:12 - 02:05:32 | Speaker 2:

Well, I just, I wasn't judging. I just have questions. Like, why are there four guys shotgunning beers in the parking lot in the mall at 3 o'clock? Why are you going, is this a tradition? Is this Christmas shopping? Why do you have the middle of the day availability? Were you going in to work in a vet? Like, what were you doing?

02:05:32 - 02:05:36 | Speaker 4:

What were you doing? Did you ask her or no? Did you just let her do the thing?

02:05:36 - 02:05:42 | Speaker 2:

No, I saw four adult men shotgun big boys in a parking lot in the middle of the day. I would have had to ask.

02:05:43 - 02:05:47 | Speaker 3:

Missed opportunity. It should have been, toss me a tall boy. Let's get rolling. What's up here?

02:05:47 - 02:05:57 | Speaker 2:

No, but then they threw it at my feet. And then I said, excuse me, do you think I'm going to pick that up? No, I didn't. I got in my car and I said, thank you so much for throwing that near me. I will pick up after you boys. Have fun today.

02:05:57 - 02:06:17 | Speaker 4:

I have never been man enough to be able to drink a Tallboy. Like, when I go into, like, a party store, we call them here in Michigan. You guys call them whatever liquor stores in Ohio. When I go in there and I go into the case and they've got, like, the big old, you know, I'm going, man, I wish I was man enough to be able to have one of those.

02:06:17 - 02:06:20 | Speaker 1:

Well, you know, they sell those at, like, Pynob and stuff in the summer, but White Claw.

02:06:20 - 02:06:24 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah, yeah. Really? Yeah. That's too much seltzer for me. Yes, they do.

02:06:24 - 02:06:30 | Speaker 2:

Every time I go to Pynob, man, I get messed up. If you put it in a paper bag though

02:06:30 - 02:06:35 | Speaker 5:

It would still look bad enough If they only see the top

02:06:35 - 02:06:45 | Speaker 3:

They don't know what you're drinking Whenever I go to the store And get the oil cans The Foster's cans I always get one for me and one for Mark Our engineer, he loves those things

02:06:45 - 02:06:50 | Speaker 2:

If you ever see me at Pine Knob There's a 95% chance I'm already drunk

02:06:50 - 02:07:07 | Speaker 4:

Or at the mall Or drinking at the mall By the way, this is the time Of the year From now until Christmas Where the going to the mall Turns into a going to the mall to drink And every mall should have A good drinking place

02:07:07 - 02:07:10 | Speaker 1:

I agree, it makes shopping so much more fun

02:07:10 - 02:07:27 | Speaker 3:

Well that's like 12 Oaks has Sedona Tap House So Meg keeps coming up with a reason We need to go to the mall We forgot my uncle And then we just go drink We don't even end up going shopping Wait, you left your uncle at the mall? Yeah, no, no. We forgot him on the Christmas list. Oh, on the Christmas list.

02:07:27 - 02:07:30 | Speaker 4:

Let's go get him a gift. We forgot our uncle at Sedona Taphouse.

02:07:30 - 02:07:45 | Speaker 5:

So you guys don't have a place where you can get drinks and then walk around the mall with the drinks? No. Do they have that in West Michigan? Where do they have that? So first off, you're going to judge it. But Rivertown Mall has a Fridays that you can go to and get a drink. And you can carry it out. And walk around the mall? Yes.

02:07:46 - 02:07:51 | Speaker 4:

Hold on. I would be so dangerous. Do they let you do that at our malls? I don't think so. Can you leave with a to-go cup?

02:07:51 - 02:07:55 | Speaker 3:

Technically it's legal now for them to sell you a to-go cup

02:07:55 - 02:07:59 | Speaker 1:

And nobody would ever know That it wasn't coffee in this thing

02:07:59 - 02:08:21 | Speaker 4:

Why do they not have Somebody call up What's the owner of Somerset Is it David Forbes Nate Forbes Call Nate Forbes up and ask him Why at Somerset they don't have Like the Place that has chicken on a stick The Chinese place where they always give you Would you like a sample chicken Can they always give you, like, the... The bourbon chicken?

02:08:22 - 02:08:24 | Speaker 1:

They used to have it. They don't anymore on the food court.

02:08:24 - 02:08:27 | Speaker 4:

No, I'm not worried about that. I'm giving an example here.

02:08:27 - 02:08:29 | Speaker 1:

I'm worried about it. It was my favorite. Do you like that?

02:08:29 - 02:08:30 | Speaker 4:

All right, we want that back, too.

02:08:30 - 02:08:30 | Speaker 1:

Okay.

02:08:31 - 02:08:45 | Speaker 4:

They have the Chick-fil-A. They have the, you know, the place, the Chinese place that makes whatever. No, I want the drinking. And let's put a drinking place in. Like, why do they not have, like, a place, like... What about in the middle of the mall where Santa is? You know what Tiger's games, how they have the frozen drinks?

02:08:45 - 02:08:55 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that there's, like, a big, just round area. and it's a bar in the center and you could just pony up and have a little drink. People would spend so much money.

02:08:56 - 02:09:05 | Speaker 3:

Well, I'm just thinking like when I walk into my Kohl's, I think, man, this place is sloppy at Christmas. It looks like a bomb went off. Now I understand like at Granville it is because like people are drinking and shopping over there.

02:09:06 - 02:09:11 | Speaker 4:

So I think Mike, is this legit or are you the one guy that does this?

02:09:11 - 02:09:17 | Speaker 5:

No, there's specific drinks that you can only order like three different drinks and they put them in sealed to-go cups and you can walk around the mall with them.

02:09:17 - 02:09:26 | Speaker 1:

Do you know how many, it would be all husbands sitting in the middle of the mall if they had like a bar like this while their wives shopped. It's genius. Target should do this.

02:09:26 - 02:09:33 | Speaker 3:

Well, that's why I'd love to, I wish Megan had asked this foursome here because I wonder, is it a tradition every year? They go shop for their families. Like, what is it?

02:09:34 - 02:10:05 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. We used to, in our mall that we had when I was growing up, we had a Chi-Chi's and every Christmas Eve we would go shopping with my dad for the last minute stuff. It was like a guy tradition in my house. and then my dad would take us to Chi-Chi's where dad would get drunk and we would drive dad home. So dad would end up drinking margaritas with chips and salsa and nachos and stuff like that. Remember how Chi-Chi's used to have good food? Yeah, the celebration. of food oh my that's right i was trying to think of what they're saying yeah and then we would go

02:10:05 - 02:10:15 | Speaker 1:

and and i'll go home drunk and my mom would be like you're never taking time she would say tony you're never taking the boys out again and then next year my mom would say go so that we could

02:10:15 - 02:10:41 | Speaker 5:

all leave hi mojo in the morning hello good morning hey in toledo our kroger store had a wine and like ipa bar that you could um drink alcohol and walk around and do your grocery shopping or You could sit out and hang out with the locals. I love that. Our Kroger store had that. And it was nonprofit. Like, you pay a couple of bucks, and all the proceeds went to the Northwest Ohio Food Bank. Yeah, but what happened to the one in Slovenia?

02:10:41 - 02:10:42 | Speaker 1:

Uh-oh.

02:10:42 - 02:10:43 | Speaker 5:

COVID happened.

02:10:44 - 02:10:47 | Speaker 1:

What do you mean? That's how I heard. What were you going to say? They told everybody.

02:10:48 - 02:10:51 | Speaker 5:

I heard people were getting a little too lit out there. Oh, really?

02:10:53 - 02:10:55 | Speaker 1:

Were they walking around Kroger Topless or something?

02:10:55 - 02:11:08 | Speaker 5:

No, they would limit how many you could have. You could only buy so many. So they definitely had a strict limit of how much you could drink. But it was pretty nice. They had mimosas. It was awesome.

02:11:08 - 02:11:16 | Speaker 1:

Don't they have? I don't shop at Whole Foods much, but doesn't Whole Foods have something like this? Were they at a little wine place?

02:11:16 - 02:11:20 | Speaker 5:

So they have like a bar. I don't know if you can walk around the store, though.

02:11:20 - 02:11:21 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

02:11:21 - 02:11:25 | Speaker 5:

I saw girls get kicked out on Tic Tac the other day from Whole Foods because they got too drunk.

02:11:25 - 02:11:31 | Speaker 1:

Really? What's up? Charlene? Megan, I see this as a challenge I know What's going on?

02:11:32 - 02:11:45 | Speaker 6:

Hi, I was calling because I'm from Louisiana And they have like drive-thru liquor stores Yes They even have drive-thru daiquiri Yes, frozen daiquiri They put tape across the top of it It's too close to the container

02:11:45 - 02:11:55 | Speaker 2:

You took us to one of those places Yeah, we went down there for a morning show thing And the first thing we did when we pulled off New Orleans Right from the airport, Mojo said, let's go Drive-thru daiquiri

02:11:55 - 02:12:02 | Speaker 1:

So my favorite thing is that they give you – everybody gets yours open, but the driver has the –

02:12:02 - 02:12:08 | Speaker 2:

He doesn't get a straw. He doesn't get a straw. No, because he's not supposed to drink his while he's driving. It's fail-proof.

02:12:08 - 02:12:08 | Speaker 6:

Exactly.

02:12:09 - 02:12:12 | Speaker 1:

They're very trusting, aren't they, in Louisiana?

02:12:12 - 02:12:25 | Speaker 6:

They are, but the town that I live in, it's called a parish instead of for a county, or I don't know how y'all call them up here. We actually were a dry county or dry parish. Wow. So we had to drive to the next one over to be able to get liquor or beer or anything.

02:12:26 - 02:12:46 | Speaker 1:

I'm telling you that I think that the malls should do this. You know, first off, malls, we got to bring them back again. Like, we need malls. People got to stop ordering online. They need to go to malls and go shopping because where else can you go and get in fights with people over the holidays? You know, it's like I can't sit there and just fight with my family. I need to fight with people.

02:12:46 - 02:12:50 | Speaker 2:

Everybody has a cocktail before they shop. I bet there would be a lot less fighting, Mojo.

02:12:50 - 02:12:54 | Speaker 1:

And they need to bring alcohol into it, right? What's up, Brooke?

02:12:54 - 02:13:11 | Speaker 4:

hey uh i live out in macomb and there's a grocery store called vince and joe's and they have like a they have a wine dispenser you can get your beer go eat your pizza there and my favorite is they make spiked coffee so you can get your irish they do irish cream and your coffee oh i've been to it

02:13:11 - 02:13:25 | Speaker 2:

so yeah i've been to the one on garfield and metro and i've been in there and they have the gelato and i will be a happy soul drinking a spiked coffee with bailey's and have them put a little scoop of chocolate gelato on there and i buy so much stuff that i don't need in the grocery store

02:13:25 - 02:13:38 | Speaker 1:

02:13:38 - 02:14:02 | Speaker 3:

my me and my old man used to go to the mall at lakeside every christmas it was tradition and uh we would end up buying like 10 times the amount of gifts we actually needed. And the next morning when everybody was opening their presents, nobody got what they wanted. Isn't it the best? There were so many presents you couldn't believe it, you know.

02:14:02 - 02:14:08 | Speaker 1:

So isn't this cool? Me and my old man, that's kind of like how it was for me too. We'd go just get drunk at the mall.

02:14:08 - 02:14:15 | Speaker 2:

Well, you know why I love going to Lakeside now. They just turned the Toys R Us space into the total wine. Really? Yeah.

02:14:15 - 02:14:16 | Speaker 1:

Oh, God.

02:14:16 - 02:14:18 | Speaker 2:

Oh, now you buy whatever you want and take it with you.

02:14:19 - 02:14:20 | Speaker 1:

All right. Yeah.

02:14:20 - 02:14:24 | Speaker 2:

Put in a little Tim Hortons cup. Nobody knows the difference.

02:14:24 - 02:14:27 | Speaker 1:

I'm telling you, we just gave so many ideas to all the mall people.

02:14:28 - 02:14:29 | Speaker 2:

We're supporting local business, Mojo.

02:14:29 - 02:14:29 | Speaker 1:

Exactly.

02:14:30 - 02:14:34 | Speaker 2:

It's better than the Nigerian Prince, or click here to reset your bank password.

02:14:34 - 02:14:38 | Speaker 5:

Another world-famous phone scam happens at 9.50 on Mojo in the Morning.

02:14:40 - 02:14:42 | Speaker 6:

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

02:14:42 - 02:14:54 | Speaker 1:

Hey, Jingle Ball tickets, by the way. are still on sale and if you don't win tickets from us you got to buy them there's still some good seats available you can get seats starting at $35 go to ticketmaster.com right now Shannon

02:14:54 - 02:14:58 | Speaker 5:

with the dirty on 30 gift idea by the way if you're looking for a gift for somebody to think about that

02:15:00 - 02:15:23 | Speaker 2:

I hope this doesn't happen at Jingle Ball. Harry Styles playing a show in Columbia, a sold-out show in Columbia. And he's performing. He notices that multiple fans were in distress in the crowd. And when I say in distress, they were fainting. It was so hot. People were so packed together. At least eight people were removed from the show and taken to receive medical care. But here's what he did.

02:15:24 - 02:15:46 | Speaker 1:

I'm very excited to be here. Tonight's going to be an amazing show. But the most important thing is that everyone in here is safe. There are a lot of people in here. Okay, it's warm. All we're going to do is everyone on the floor, really, really slowly, starting from the back. We're going to take a couple of steps back. Really slowly. Really, really slowly.

02:15:47 - 02:16:43 | Speaker 2:

Wow. You can see that on the dirty page at mojointheworning.com. A top Qatari official admitted that 400 to 500 migrant workers lost their lives while working on projects tied to the World Cup. Hassan Al-Tawadi, who is the chief of this iconic soccer event, disclosed that amount during an interview with Piers Morgan. And he said, he admitted, hundreds of migrant workers died as a consequence of World Cup labor. Now, prior to the interview, the death toll was said to be around like 40 or 50. So add a zero to that. A large majority of those were non-working related deaths, or at least that was the thought. And now again confirmed 500 migrant workers. The World Cup considered to be the most expensive ever at an estimated $200 billion. Is that right? I read that number. I had to read it again. $200 billion is what it cost to put that on.

02:16:43 - 02:16:59 | Speaker 3:

And you know what's amazing? They like triple that amount of money that comes in because of the World Cup. It's an amazing moneymaker for these countries, but you're right. In these countries that aren't paying attention to this, people are dying. This has happened with the Olympics.

02:16:59 - 02:17:00 | Speaker 5:

The Olympics, too.

02:17:01 - 02:17:23 | Speaker 6:

There's footage of where these workers lived and the conditions that they lived in. The thing that makes me the angriest about this is that they knew this, and they were just lying until the game started, because they knew once the game started these stories weren't going to live out there. It wasn't going to be what was talked about. As soon as the next game starts, nobody's going to talk about this anymore. And it's so aggravating.

02:17:24 - 02:18:28 | Speaker 2:

Balenciaga is essentially looking for a scapegoat. They're trying to shift the blame after getting all of that backlash for its BDSM-themed campaign featuring little kids and child pornography documents. And that is the reason it's suing a marketing agency for $25 million. So basically, they just want to deflect at this point. Sources connected to that controversial photo shoot that we've been talking about all week says this marketing agency, it's called North Six, has worked with Balenciaga on several campaigns in the past, but they had no creative power over this particular photo shoot, over this campaign. So they said, yes, our employees were involved, but they had nothing to do with set design. They helped with logistics like crew, equipment, locations. That's it. So I don't know how Balenciaga thinks they're going to sue here. They're still moving forward with it. And many people are saying, no, wait a second. You're Balenciaga. You're a huge, expensive, luxury fashion brand. There is no way that those photos weren't put in front of many top executives and signed off on before this campaign was made live. Yeah, that's crazy. There's no way.

02:18:29 - 02:18:35 | Speaker 3:

I can't imagine anybody's going to want to buy something from Balenciaga after this thing. But what does Balenciaga make? Like, what is it that they make?

02:18:36 - 02:18:48 | Speaker 2:

Clothing, shoes, bags, I think. I know if you see Cancel Balenciaga or Boycott Balenciaga trending on TikTok right now, people are, like, destroying their merchandise, which it's not cheap. It is outrageously expensive.

02:18:49 - 02:18:53 | Speaker 3:

Is it, like, the same price as, like, Louis Vuitton and Gucci and all the rest of that stuff? Right up there.

02:18:54 - 02:19:28 | Speaker 2:

Yep, yep. And lastly, Need for Speed Unbound is the latest installment in the long-running racing game franchise. I'm not a gamer. Mike, I know you are. I don't know if you're excited for this game. Yeah, yeah. It drops on Friday, I believe. Well, apparently there's some sort of customization menu in this game where a player can pick from alternate horn sounds for the car that you're using for the game. And one of them, you'll notice, if you play on Friday, is called ASAP. And it's literally ASAP Rocky just saying beep, beep over and over. Really? I pulled it for you. Listen to this.

02:19:29 - 02:19:34 | Speaker 5:

Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. Did you just want to be a part of it or what?

02:19:34 - 02:19:43 | Speaker 4:

I want that. I want to be a part of it. I don't know what my horn would sound like, but I want that.

02:19:44 - 02:19:49 | Speaker 5:

Shannon somewhere floats around. She was a voice in Grand Theft Auto, and she doesn't have it.

02:19:49 - 02:20:00 | Speaker 2:

I want to find it. I've never heard it. Yeah, I'm the weather girl on the radio, but I've never heard it. Do you remember which game it was? Was it a five? It was four. Four, okay. Yeah, it was four. It was a long time ago. Wait, how did you get...

02:20:00 - 02:20:15 | Speaker 4:

I knew somebody else who was doing some of the voice work for the game, and they needed a weather girl, and so he asked me if I wanted to do it. I will never do that again, by the way. Why? It was so dirty. Did you get killed at all? The stuff they made me say was so dirty. Well, I was going to ask you, you were the weather person.

02:20:15 - 02:20:17 | Speaker 1:

He said, I thought you were maybe the one of the people walking down the road.

02:20:17 - 02:20:17 | Speaker 4:

No.

02:20:17 - 02:20:18 | Speaker 1:

No?

02:20:18 - 02:20:27 | Speaker 4:

Okay, well, if anybody's listening, I will say anything dirty. Hey, for all of today's dirty, check out the dirty page on thejournthemorning.com.

02:20:30 - 02:20:39 | Speaker 3:

Get the stories you'll talk about all day on Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30. Yep, phone scams are pretty funny. Until you get that call.

02:20:40 - 02:20:41 | Speaker 4:

This is Mojo in the Morning.

02:20:41 - 02:20:43 | Speaker 3:

Stay tuned to your programs.

02:20:44 - 02:21:04 | Speaker 1:

Mojo in the Morning Show, your home of the phone scams. We are going to call, is it Lorna that we're calling? We're calling Lorna. She works at a tiny family-run coffee shop. and we're going to scare her into thinking that Starbucks is going in right next door. It's a Mojo in the Morning phone scam.

02:21:04 - 02:21:15 | Speaker 3:

We will, we will scam you. Sorry, it's a catchy song. It's your home of phone scams. Mojo in the Morning.

02:21:17 - 02:21:31 | Speaker 2:

Good morning. Hi, good morning. Who's this speaking? This is Lorna. Hi, Lorna. My name is Schwef Tungula, and I'm the district manager of the new business going down at the end of the strip. I just want to call and introduce myself and say hello.

02:21:33 - 02:21:34 | Speaker 5:

Hi, I'm sorry. What's your name again?

02:21:35 - 02:21:38 | Speaker 2:

My name's Schwef with a silent J, Tungula.

02:21:39 - 02:21:42 | Speaker 5:

I'm sorry. It's loud here. What business did you say you work for?

02:21:43 - 02:22:14 | Speaker 2:

We're actually the big corner store that's been under construction for the past four months, which reminds me. I should thank you for your patience during this mess, but construction's almost over, and we should be opening very soon. The other reason I'm calling is to see if you wanted to contribute all of the businesses at S*** Plaza. We're talking about hiring a Santa to make an appearance the weekend before Christmas, and we're kind of asking to pull donations, whatever you could afford, and then Santa will be going in and out of our stores and also waving at the cars that drive by our lot, hopefully waving a few of them into the business.

02:22:15 - 02:22:19 | Speaker 5:

Sure, I'd be glad to, you know, get more info, but doesn't the landlord do that?

02:22:19 - 02:22:20 | Speaker 2:

Do what?

02:22:21 - 02:22:25 | Speaker 5:

I thought Matt and his team who handled the complex handled all of that stuff.

02:22:25 - 02:22:46 | Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah. Well, they do all the decorating. I mean, let's face it, they do the bare minimum. I don't know if you saw the flags and the lights on the poles in the parking lot, but we appreciate that. But we want to go over the top. We want to hire an actual Santa to encourage foot traffic. Our business won't even be opening until next month, so we're not even going to actually be able to take advantage of the holiday shoppers. We're just being a participant as a goodwill gesture.

02:22:47 - 02:22:53 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, well, we've been wondering what that store is going to be Because we've been seeing the contractors go in and out of that place for the last few months. Yes.

02:22:54 - 02:22:56 | Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah. Well, if nobody told you, we're going to be a Starbucks.

02:22:58 - 02:22:59 | Speaker 5:

What?

02:22:59 - 02:23:00 | Speaker 2:

A Starbucks.

02:23:01 - 02:23:02 | Speaker 5:

Starbucks coffee?

02:23:02 - 02:23:08 | Speaker 2:

Yes, ma'am. One of our new Reserve Roastery Superstores. I don't know if you've seen them. They are beautiful inside.

02:23:09 - 02:23:10 | Speaker 5:

You're kidding.

02:23:10 - 02:23:14 | Speaker 2:

No, I know. Isn't it great? Wait till you see the buzz when the doors open.

02:23:14 - 02:23:16 | Speaker 5:

You know who you're talking to, right?

02:23:16 - 02:23:18 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, the name's Lorna, right?

02:23:19 - 02:23:26 | Speaker 5:

Yes, of the ****** Cafe. We are one of the oldest independent cafes west of Toledo.

02:23:26 - 02:23:27 | Speaker 2:

Oh, congratulations.

02:23:29 - 02:23:33 | Speaker 5:

And you're opening a Starbucks in the same shopping center?

02:23:33 - 02:23:35 | Speaker 2:

Yes, ma'am, and we look forward to meeting you.

02:23:37 - 02:23:43 | Speaker 5:

Look, I gotta be honest, I have to call the landlord, because how can there be two coffee shops on the same corner of the strip mall?

02:23:44 - 02:23:54 | Speaker 2:

Oh, well, I mean, apparently you don't have any kind of exclusivity in your lease contracted through next year. But, hey, it's all good. We just attract more coffee consumers to the area, so we all benefit.

02:23:55 - 02:24:00 | Speaker 5:

No, we've been here for 18 years. My mom opened this coffee shop.

02:24:00 - 02:24:04 | Speaker 2:

Right, but you understand what we mean. We all benefit. It just brings more coffee drinkers to the corner.

02:24:06 - 02:24:07 | Speaker 5:

This doesn't make sense.

02:24:08 - 02:24:15 | Speaker 2:

Well, I mean, if you can't figure out, this is good for everyone. but I'd be glad to talk to you about it over at Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino Blended Beverage. Our treat.

02:24:15 - 02:24:18 | Speaker 5:

I don't think so. I need to talk to Matt about this.

02:24:18 - 02:24:22 | Speaker 2:

Okay, yeah, give him a call. He spoke so highly of you, Lorna. They seem like great people.

02:24:23 - 02:24:26 | Speaker 5:

Oh, really? But he's going to put a Starbucks next to me?

02:24:26 - 02:24:29 | Speaker 2:

Well, we're building the Starbucks. He just leased the building for 15 years.

02:24:30 - 02:24:34 | Speaker 5:

You know what? I think we're done talking here. I need to make a phone call. Okay, Lorna, wait.

02:24:34 - 02:24:40 | Speaker 2:

There's one more thing I've got to tell you. Actually, this is just Spike from the Mojo in the Morning Show, and you've just been the victim of a phone scam.

02:24:41 - 02:24:42 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God.

02:24:44 - 02:24:48 | Speaker 2:

We got an email from Elena. Who's Elena?

02:24:48 - 02:24:49 | Speaker 5:

That's my mom. Okay.

02:24:50 - 02:24:54 | Speaker 2:

Your mom told us to phone scam you. You've been worried about what that business was going to be. You've been pretty nosy.

02:24:55 - 02:24:55 | Speaker 5:

Yes.

02:24:55 - 02:24:57 | Speaker 2:

As far as I know, it's not going to be a Starbucks.

02:24:58 - 02:25:00 | Speaker 5:

Okay, good, because my heart is...

02:25:00 - 02:25:01 | Speaker 3:

beating out of my chest right now.

02:25:02 - 02:25:12 | Speaker 6:

That's the caffeine. Too much caffeine. Oh, my God. I love you guys. I listen to you all the time. You still love us even after you've been phone scammed? Yes, I think I might love you more.

02:25:15 - 02:25:45 | Speaker 2:

We will, we will scam you. We interrupt this message to tell you that was funny. It's the home of the world-famous phone scams. You're listening to Mojo in the Morning. Hey, they'll be performing that at Jingle Ball. The Backstreet Boys.

02:25:46 - 02:26:24 | Speaker 4:

I like their version of Last Christmas. It's going to be fun next Tuesday, Jingle Ball. And you can get tickets starting at just $35 by going to Ticketmaster.com. The great seats, like the up front seats, there's still some available. And let me just tell you this, Backstreet Boys are doing a pretty long set. I mean, it obviously is so many people getting on stage. So, you know, what, eight or so artists that we have on stage. But the Backstreet Boys are going to have the longest set out of all the sets that are going on. So I want it that way. And Backstreet's back, everybody, and last Christmas and all that stuff. So if you're a fan, you've got to get your tickets.

02:26:24 - 02:26:29 | Speaker 2:

All right, I'm telling you, I still don't get it.

02:26:29 - 02:26:38 | Speaker 4:

I know people are going to be mad at me for saying this, but you watch all of that soccer for one freaking goal. That's it?

02:26:38 - 02:26:39 | Speaker 1:

Are you kidding me?

02:26:39 - 02:26:47 | Speaker 4:

Megan, I'm sorry. If it wasn't that we were taking on the Iranian team and I wanted to beat them so bad, I wouldn't have watched.

02:26:47 - 02:26:49 | Speaker 6:

Sometimes the best hockey games are one to nothing.

02:26:49 - 02:26:56 | Speaker 5:

Yes, but you could tell me your favorite hockey player. What's your favorite soccer player? Who is your favorite? Tyler Adams.

02:26:56 - 02:27:00 | Speaker 4:

No. Christian Palusik. You just saw him in the news. No, I've got him in my script here, yes.

02:27:00 - 02:27:04 | Speaker 2:

The signs were there when I had a shirtless Mia Hamm poster in my room when I was going out.

02:27:04 - 02:27:08 | Speaker 4:

There you go. Cristiano Ronaldo. Isn't that his name?

02:27:09 - 02:27:12 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. I'm just trying to throw the names. Tell me what team he plays for.

02:27:12 - 02:27:17 | Speaker 4:

Cristiano Ronaldo plays for the Italian team. I don't know. What team is he on?

02:27:18 - 02:27:19 | Speaker 2:

I don't have that one.

02:27:19 - 02:27:30 | Speaker 4:

All right. What's the guy's name? What's the guy with the scruffy voice all the time in Ted Lasso? He's now a coach on the team. What's the play? I love him.

02:27:30 - 02:27:36 | Speaker 6:

He looks like he's CGI. I forgot you're such a big fan of that show. You'd think Ted Lasso would have taught you a thing.

02:27:36 - 02:27:53 | Speaker 4:

No, here, let me just say this to you. Soccer is kind of like, for me, like World Cup soccer or even Olympics are like this for me with TV shows. I never know characters' names in TV shows unless they're, like, the main character, like, Beth and Rip on Yellowstone. But I can't.

02:27:53 - 02:27:53 | Speaker 5:

Isn't it Roy Kent?

02:27:54 - 02:28:07 | Speaker 4:

Roy Kent. That's it. Roy Kent. So I don't remember that. And then the stars of these, you know, games like the Olympics and World Cup, you know, I know them only because I hear their names so often. Hopefully the U.S. team continues to keep going.

02:28:07 - 02:28:13 | Speaker 6:

Mojo, I actually watched my daughter play soccer for two years, and I don't know how the game of soccer is played.

02:28:13 - 02:28:17 | Speaker 4:

It's funny. They're, like, off sides. I'm like, offsides? I don't know what offsides are. What are you talking about offsides?

02:28:17 - 02:28:18 | Speaker 6:

They're all on offsides.

02:28:18 - 02:28:33 | Speaker 4:

It's crazy. Throw a purple card or what color card is that? All right, so the U.S. team made it to the next round of the World Cup after they knocked out the Iranian team 1-0 yesterday.

02:28:33 - 02:28:38 | Speaker 3:

Austin McKinney, Dess making a big run. It's meant for him. Dess is stuck in behind. Dess in the middle. Pulitek!

02:28:39 - 02:28:42 | Speaker 4:

Wow. Christian Pulitek.

02:28:43 - 02:28:43 | Speaker 3:

He gave a lift.

02:28:43 - 02:28:53 | Speaker 4:

So long, Drew. Pulisic. They called him Pulitech, didn't they, on that thing, or no? I thought it was Pulisic, too. Didn't he call him Pulitech in that? I think maybe that's just how it sounded. Really?

02:28:54 - 02:28:58 | Speaker 3:

Stuckling. Dess making a big run. It's meant for him. Dess is stuck in behind. Dess in the middle. Pulitech!

02:28:59 - 02:29:02 | Speaker 4:

Scores! Yeah, Pulitech. I thought they said Pulitech.

02:29:02 - 02:29:07 | Speaker 6:

I don't know. I think they mispronounced him. I heard David Beckham. Yeah. So, okay.

02:29:07 - 02:29:21 | Speaker 4:

Well, listen. Let me tell you this. He put his balls on the line because he literally hurt himself. He injured himself. And we do have word on how he is doing this morning from Tyler Adams, the captain of the team who was on ABC's Good Morning America.

02:29:21 - 02:29:32 | Speaker 5:

The mentality of the group, we're a fearless group, brave, relentless, diverse. We have all the qualities of a team that can go out and win this thing. So we have confidence in our group, and now it's about going out and executing.

02:29:32 - 02:29:37 | Speaker 1:

And a lot of concern about Christian Pulisic, of course. What can you tell us? Have you talked to him? How's he doing?

02:29:39 - 02:29:52 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, he put it all on the line. He's doing all right. He's in great spirits, feeling a lot better now. But what a big player for us, showing up in the biggest moments. We rely on him a lot for the biggest moments. So, yeah, he's doing all right. He'll be ready for next game.

02:29:52 - 02:29:58 | Speaker 4:

There you go. He'll be there the next game, which means he'll be there Saturday when the USA takes on the Netherlands.

02:30:00 - 02:30:07 | Speaker 1:

President Biden was very excited about this win. He was doing a press conference and got the news about the 1-0 victory.

02:30:07 - 02:30:10 | Speaker 3:

U.S. 1, Iran 0, the game's under.

02:30:11 - 02:30:12 | Unknown:

Ho, ho, ho.

02:30:17 - 02:30:29 | Speaker 3:

USA, USA. That's a big game, man. Yeah, man. I spoke to the coach and the players. I said, you can do this. They went, ah, they're going to. They did it. God love them. Anyway, just thought you might want to hear.

02:30:30 - 02:31:16 | Speaker 1:

By the way, when he does the God love him part and does the, come on, man, it makes Eric Harthen's impersonation of him sound even better because it really, truly is character. President Biden, by the way, another story with that. This weekend, he was spending Thanksgiving in Nantucket on vacation. And listen to this story. The Secret Service rented a bunch of vehicles, a fleet of vehicles. Well, yesterday, word got out that the vehicles that they rented, five vehicles, a Chevy Suburban, Ford Explorer, Xfinity, QX80, Ford Expedition, and a Jeep Gladiator, all caught fire and burned in the airport parking lot where they left them before going back to D.C.

02:31:16 - 02:31:17 | Speaker 3:

That's terrifying.

02:31:17 - 02:31:49 | Speaker 1:

Here's the craziest part of this whole thing. And the Secret Service says that the president and the president's family were not in any of these vehicles, but the Secret Service were. One of those vehicles, which is the Ford, I believe it was the Expedition, is on recall right now for having issues with starting fires. And they haven't said officially what exactly caused the fire, but they believe that potentially one of those cars started on fire, causing all of them to burn. Oh, all of them. Okay. And here's an even scarier. I know, Megan, I was thinking what you were thinking.

02:31:49 - 02:31:50 | Speaker 2:

We'll go with that.

02:31:50 - 02:31:52 | Speaker 1:

Well, you thought it was a terrorist thing or something?

02:31:52 - 02:31:53 | Speaker 3:

Like a planned attack?

02:31:53 - 02:32:06 | Speaker 1:

Yes. Well, here's the scary thing. These cars were all parked at the airport in a waiting lot that was just feet away from engine fuel for airplanes.

02:32:06 - 02:32:07 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my goodness.

02:32:07 - 02:32:10 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, so they all burned, and thank God they didn't catch that on fire.

02:32:10 - 02:32:20 | Speaker 2:

It seems like something maybe we should analyze and reassess. Maybe we shouldn't be poking these rental cars with 80,000 miles parking hot right next to the jet fuel.

02:32:20 - 02:32:26 | Speaker 1:

It's wild. I didn't realize that they actually rent cars in the cities that they go to. I thought that they carried the vehicles on the plane.

02:32:26 - 02:32:42 | Speaker 2:

These aren't the armed vehicles and the beast and the ones that, you know, the tactical team uses. These are like support to get all the staff everywhere to and from. You know, they have advanced teams that go out and do work. And it's just like regular staff rentals, not the high security vehicles.

02:32:42 - 02:34:00 | Speaker 1:

Here is a story that yesterday did not get enough coverage on the news and needs to get more coverage. The Michigan Wolverines are the number two team in the BCS poll. They move up to number two, but are they legitimately the number one team? There were some sports analysts that were on ESPN saying that they believe Michigan, after their strong showing against the Buckeyes on Saturday, should be moved to number one and Georgia kind of having a couple of, like, whatever games. But will that happen when Georgia has to play in their SEC tournament that they have going on? Because I think, doesn't Georgia play, like, Alabama this weekend or something? Here's, by the way, the BCS poll. So Georgia's number one, Michigan's number two, TCU is number three, The USC moves in to the spot that the Ohio State Buckeyes got dropped out of. They're in number four. The Buckeyes only dropped to number five, which some people are saying that the Buckeyes got killed on Saturday. They shouldn't even be number five. Alabama's number six. Now, it doesn't matter this year, but I think next year, aren't they doing top eight or something? This year, they only do top four.

02:34:00 - 02:34:02 | Speaker 2:

They're adding a bunch of teams next year.

02:34:02 - 02:34:19 | Speaker 1:

They say that if Michigan loses to Purdue in the Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis, that even if they do lose, they say that they will not get dropped out of the top four. But they wouldn't be number two. They would probably drop below whoever was there that won.

02:34:19 - 02:34:32 | Speaker 2:

There's a chance that we might not have to face the best team. We might not have to face Georgia or other teams. Depends on what LSU does and what USC does. There's a chance if one of them has a weird game that we could actually.

02:34:32 - 02:34:36 | Speaker 1:

Wait, so who is it that's playing in the SEC tournament game?

02:34:36 - 02:34:38 | Speaker 2:

Bulldogs, Georgia, and LSU.

02:34:38 - 02:34:59 | Speaker 1:

Okay, so Georgia's playing LSU. So if Georgia wins, they said they also won't get knocked out of the top four. Right. But they potentially could get dropped. How would you feel about this? Georgia loses to LSU. Michigan moves to number one and then has to play Georgia, who would then be probably the third.

02:35:00 - 02:35:04 | Speaker 5:

you know, the fourth-ranked team. They would get dropped down. Then it would be a rematch of last year.

02:35:04 - 02:35:15 | Speaker 6:

That's what's so wonky about all the college playoffs. It's so subjective and weird. And, like, it's, you know, the people that decide the rankings, there's a lot of politics involved.

02:35:16 - 02:35:20 | Speaker 5:

Last but not – let's put it this way. You're going to eventually have to play them to be number one, right?

02:35:20 - 02:35:42 | Speaker 6:

Well, I'm going to be happy no matter what. We've got the postseason. We've got, you know, college football playoffs. We've got the Big Ten championship. Second year in a row. You got Meg's key lime pie. Ohio State. That's your championship right there, buddy. Who's Ohio State playing this weekend? I'm sure I remember. Oh, wait. Ohio State. They'll be sitting at home this weekend.

02:35:42 - 02:36:07 | Speaker 5:

Ohio State, yes, sitting home. By the way, one of my favorites was I saw somebody put the meme up of, you know how Scooby-Doo would always pull off the mask to see who the villain was? It was Scooby-Doo pulling off Ryan Day's mask and John Cooper, the old coach that used to lose to Michigan all the time, his face was right underneath it. Last but not least, thank you, Megan, for giving me, because I thought that was funny, too. Last but not least.

02:36:07 - 02:36:12 | Speaker 6:

Are you laughing at the meme, or Mojo reading it to us like our parents do and say, did you ever see that thing on Facebook?

02:36:12 - 02:36:20 | Speaker 2:

It was funny. Both, but I truly love when Mojo comes up with a story that he knows he's going to read during this segment, and it brings him so much joy that you can hear him smirking

02:36:20 - 02:38:28 | Speaker 5:

in his voice. Alright, last story I want to do, because I want to talk about this, because this is obviously the biggest news today the last story that i want to do is the fact that today a year ago was that horrible tragedy that took place at oxford high school uh i would love for all of you as we get ready to end the show and we come up on what is exactly a year when that tragedy took place to keep in your thoughts and your prayers the families the friends the loved ones the people who are still suffering and will be suffering for the rest of their lives. Their lives changed on that day. And even though many of us, you know, we didn't have family members that went to Oxford High School, Oxford High School was us. If you live in Grand Rapids, Toledo or Detroit, it's a community that's just like your community that you live in. And I ask that you guys keep everybody in your thoughts and prayers. And I ask that you go back and listen to our remembrance earlier this morning when we talked to family members and friends of those that lost their lives you can go listen to that on our podcast we'll post those up there for you today but I always uh you know hate the tragedies that any kind of you know tragedies that take place these uh horrible gun tragedies but I will tell you this this one really hit home and I never will forget what our lives were like as a show for months upon months afterwards but when we did the broadcast the the weekend before the first day back in school at oxford high school and we put those oxford strong ribbons together we got to personally go out and see a community that was one of the most amazing communities like i've spent so much time in oxford over the years i know you guys have too with you know playing sports there and friends and family that live there but when we were there doing that broadcast, I saw truly how strong that community was. And the people pulled together and they care for each other and you know what? I can't believe how fast this year went by.

02:38:28 - 02:38:31 | Speaker 2:

I feel like that just was a few weeks
