00:03:14 - 00:03:44 | Unknown:

We'll be right back.

00:03:44 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 3:

so uh megan knows how to get somebody to do something you know like you know if you're if you're somebody that uh if you're a guy especially right for for guys especially All you have to do is do one thing.

00:04:10 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

One of my girlfriends has a kid in school sports, right? And you parents, I got to give you credit, y'all know how to drink in public, and I love it, okay? Y'all have your coffee mugs filled with, we know, wine. So one of my girlfriends was at one of her kids' games. They ran out of wine. It was time for another glass. They had to run back out to the car to refill their cups. and as they were trying to leave security was being insane they would not let them leave they kept saying if you leave i can't let you re-enter we don't have any stamps or anything it's a security issue this and the other thing well obviously they didn't want to tell the security guard we're trying to go you know top off our cubs like let us out um so they were all sitting there and they were arguing you know not arguing but like

00:04:59 - 00:05:29 | Unknown:

Thank you.

00:05:00 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 4:

Trying to convince the security guard. And nothing was working. Nothing was working until eventually my girlfriend goes, I'm just going to the car to get a tampon, okay? And he was like, oh, oh, my God. Of course you can. I'm so sorry, ma'am. And her and five of her friends went out to the car. Like, this guy didn't know that out of five women, nobody was going to have a tampon or that five ladies had to run to the car to get a tampon. With cups in hand. They were able to go pull up their cuffs and come back in. He was like, so sorry to bother you ladies. And they were like, it's fine, I guess.

00:05:33 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 2:

No guy wants to talk about a woman's period or anything they have to use for their period. You ever notice that?

00:05:38 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 5:

I'm starting my period today, everybody. There you go. Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you. So happy for you. How's the flow? It's going to be heavy. Excellent. But it's funny because- I have to use that purple tampon today. Oh, sport mode.

00:05:51 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 2:

The interesting thing is, if you were to say that you couldn't come to a meeting today because of anything, you could get out of it by saying, I have a really bad period and have a great day.

00:06:03 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 5:

No, and then it's like, it's the drop. That's what happens to guys. There's no, nothing comes out of your mouths.

00:06:11 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, we have no idea what to say. And you could use it once every week and I still wouldn't get it. It doesn't work. Yeah. And in this guy's case right here, this poor security guard or whatever is just trying to do his job. At that point, he's breaking all the rules because especially a stranger talking about their period. You know what I mean? You don't want to – you want to sit there and have this lady standing there. Okay. Whatever you need, ma'am. If you want, I'll walk you to your car. I find it funny with Chelsea when she will tell me that she's having her period. She'll say, I'm having a bad day. I just want to give you a warning. I just started my period. And if she'll do that to me, it's like, honey, what do you want to do? I will book you a flight right now. And I will drive you to the airport and take you out there.

00:07:08 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 4:

One time I started crying and my brother was like, what is wrong? And I was like, I don't know. And then like a minute and a half later, I'm like, oh, I started my period today. This makes so much sense.

00:07:18 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 2:

Do you guys ever use it and it's not the case? Have you ever used the old Anne Flo and it wasn't that time? You just did it as a fake one?

00:07:30 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 5:

I think I've used it. I blamed my mood on it. But you know it wasn't. But there's no period. But you're just a bitch. Yeah, exactly. I was just in a bad mood. Yeah.

00:07:43 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 2:

But it's never been one of those ones where it's all of a sudden you just said, You know what? I'm going to, like, I'm going to, like, sex.

00:07:49 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 4:

Any time I go to, like, a pool party, I'm miraculously on my period. Yeah, you just don't want to swim. Yeah.

00:07:56 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 2:

But, like, turning down sex always, that's always the one that will come up, right? Oh, yeah.

00:08:02 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 5:

If you live with somebody, you can't do that because it's real obvious.

00:08:06 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 2:

I'm telling you. I don't know, though. I don't do that much investigating.

00:08:09 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. I've dated plenty of guys who did not ask a second question. Yeah. Guys are dumb.

00:08:14 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 2:

Honey, whatever you need. Okay, great. No problem. I won't ask you for a week. Everything will be okay. 844 Mojo Live, 844-665-6548 is our telephone number. Who's this on the phone line? What is their name? I don't see a name up there, so that's all right. I call you the wrong names anyway. We've got Andy on the phone with us. Hi, Andy.

00:08:42 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 1:

How's it going, guys?

00:08:43 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 2:

What's going on?

00:08:45 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 1:

Not much. First time calling in. Love the show. Thank you.

00:08:48 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 3:

How's your flow today?

00:08:51 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 1:

Going good so far.

00:08:54 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 2:

Andy, you agree with us, right? It's the power of the P. They talk about anything down there, and we're good with it, right?

00:09:02 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah. No question, Dad. Anywhere. Like, I just typed it in. My mom uses them to sneak lighters on airplanes even.

00:09:10 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 2:

Oh, wait a second. Your mom actually uses them to bring illegal paraphernalia on planes? Yep, that works TSA's never going to check it Right Why does she need a lighter on the plane

00:09:24 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 1:

Well she slopes But instead of buying a new one when she lands Because everything's so expensive She just zips it up In a little bit

00:09:33 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 3:

That's great until the x-ray catches it And now the whole TSA line's got to go back And get re-screened Because she needed that lighter for when she lands

00:09:41 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 1:

Not once has she been caught

00:09:44 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 2:

Your mom just gave Al-Qaeda all kinds of options here right now. Thank you. Take care of yourself. What's up, Chrissy? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:09:54 - 00:09:54 | Speaker 4:

Morning.

00:09:55 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 2:

Morning. What's going on?

00:09:57 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 4:

Nothing. I'm driving to work. was just thinking about when i was 15 my parents had bought me a car and it was meant to be for when i turned 16 and my friends and i used to tell my dad we got to go get lady stuff from the store and he'd be like whatever whatever take the keys and we would just go drive around

00:10:15 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 3:

oh my god i like lady stuff uh what's up courtney hi hi how you doing courtney what's going on

00:10:26 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 5:

I'm good. So me and my friends, we're still in high school. So, like, whenever we just want to skip class or, like, meet up in the bathroom or something, we'll just be like, because we do have feminine products in our bathroom. So we'll be like, can I go to a media center bathroom and, like, get a tampon or a pad? Because I just really don't feel that well. And, like, can I also go for a walk or something like that? And really, there's nothing wrong with it.

00:10:50 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 3:

Wait, how are you able to call us right now and not in class?

00:10:54 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 5:

Oh, because I'm not at school.

00:10:55 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 3:

Does it work more with male teachers Than it does with female teachers

00:11:03 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 5:

I think that it works more with female teachers Because they just automatically assume That you're telling the truth Which sometimes I don't understand Because you can tell when I'm lying Because I get all shaky and nervous Well

00:11:17 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 2:

Maybe she thought that's the iron deficiency But don't you worry about Karma Like using that as an excuse Like I would never use the dead grandmother excuse to skip school Does that happen? What do you mean? Well, like maybe you'll have a leak or something Because you used it as an excuse

00:11:33 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 3:

It will spur on you Yeah, it's bad karma

00:11:37 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 5:

Sometimes I think about it like when I'm actually on my period And I'm actually telling the truth I'll be like, I thought you were on your period like two weeks ago Oh, that's right

00:11:46 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, don't get busted What's up, Blair?

00:11:51 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 5:

Hi

00:11:51 - 00:11:52 | Speaker 3:

Hi

00:11:52 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 5:

so my husband has zero problems having this conversation like at all i can go into detail and he's perfectly fine with it and on several occasions he's gone to the store and bought me

00:12:04 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 2:

more of what i need yeah what a guy i mean it doesn't bother me maybe it's because you know as a girl dad but i just yeah do you guys have daughters too uh we have a three-year-old so

00:12:15 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 3:

we're not at that okay yeah yeah because i i think for guys like me who have sons it's probably not is common to sit there and talk

00:12:24 - 00:12:25 | Speaker 1:

about. Or comfortable. Yeah.

00:12:26 - 00:13:10 | Speaker 3:

We don't talk about periods that much. We only got one period in our house. Me. That is my period. Thank you for the call. Take care of yourself. No. We love our Mojo. Back to Mojo in the morning. Mojo in the morning show. Mojo Spike Shannon here in our Detroit studios with Mike and Megan and the Grand Rapids and Toledo Studios. Then we also have Reese, our Director of Social Impact, Katie, our Executive Audio Producer, and our Associate Producer, Renna. Thank you guys for being here. Happy holidays, by the way. Been listening to a lot of our Christmas station, 123 WNIC.

00:13:11 - 00:13:11 | Speaker 2:

Me too.

00:13:11 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 3:

I'm actually really enjoying it.

00:13:13 - 00:13:51 | Speaker 2:

I do too. I had them on when I was wrapping gifts yesterday. I either put on our Christmas station Or I put on a holiday movie on TV just to have like noise and, you know, background while I'm walking around folding laundry and stuff. And I've been putting on all the different Christmas movies and specials and stuff. And it just totally brought back memories of my childhood and what's supposed to be cheerful, joyful. I remember all those old Rankin Bass animated claymation specials, you know, the old classic ones like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. They all scared the hell out of me when I was little

00:13:51 - 00:13:51 | Speaker 4:

Did they?

00:13:51 - 00:14:06 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I don't know if there was any holiday movie scene That scared the hell out of you You guys could call in if there's one I'm sure The Grinch is a big one That probably scared a lot of people Gremlins Yeah, well, that's a horror movie, obviously That's supposed to The Heat-Mizer Heat-Mizer and Freeze-Mizer

00:14:06 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 3:

The Heat-Mizer and Freeze-Mizer Those guys were old, crotchety guys You know why? Because we had neighbors that were like those I had an old neighbor down the street That I'm telling you could have voiced That claymation thing I think I talked about this recently on the air. I was watching those things. I'm going, what kids watch those things nowadays?

00:14:24 - 00:14:26 | Speaker 1:

Well, they think they're boring and weird and old.

00:14:26 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 3:

Because there's nothing that's there. But they're scary, like Spike said. They're very, very scary.

00:14:31 - 00:14:36 | Speaker 1:

I mean, Nightmare Before Christmas kind of freaked me out when I first saw it. Yeah. But I think that's kind of supposed to.

00:14:37 - 00:15:17 | Speaker 2:

But those old animated movies from like the 50s, 60s, 70s, like Santa Claus is Coming to Town, had that burger meister meister burger guy who was like right out of springtime for hitler he he was like boy i had this scary drumming toys toys toys and he was like yelling at everybody he wanted to ruin he wanted to like boil rudolph and And kill Christmas Yeah It was scary Yeah And I was like Why are these in Children's It's like some Nazi dude Christmas special And baby Kris Kringle In that movie In Santa Claus is Coming to Town Baby Kris Kringle Looked like the Chucky doll

00:15:17 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 1:

I'm telling you If those things came out nowadays There would be some kind of Like a group that would Tell you that They had to be taken off there

00:15:26 - 00:15:31 | Speaker 2:

Yeah Well some of them were traumatic Frosty always died How many times did we watch him die?

00:15:31 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. What's going on, Lane?

00:15:35 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 6:

Hi. You guys are talking about being scared of, like, Christmas movies. And I met my boyfriend, and at the time he was 18, and he confessed to me that he had never really watched The Grinch for Christmas because he was terrified of The Grinch. And I found that hilarious.

00:15:52 - 00:15:53 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:15:53 - 00:15:59 | Speaker 1:

The Grinch is scary for kids. The Grinch, like, animated, or the Grinch with, like, Jim Carrey?

00:16:01 - 00:16:02 | Speaker 3:

With Kim Carrey.

00:16:02 - 00:16:12 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, because the Grinch with Jim Carrey is kind of scary in the beginning of that movie. But then he gets a heart that, you know.

00:16:12 - 00:16:21 | Speaker 6:

I watched it all the time as a kid, and I never found it scary. I thought it was, like, kind of heart-moving because, like you said, at the end of the movie, like, he gets a heart, and he becomes a sweetheart.

00:16:21 - 00:16:31 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. Yeah. But the people, I think also the way that they look, too. I think it's the way that they look, too. You know, how their faces are and stuff. That's kind of scary.

00:16:31 - 00:16:32 | Speaker 3:

Oh, the hooves?

00:16:32 - 00:16:33 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:16:33 - 00:16:35 | Speaker 3:

The little noses? Yeah. Cheeks.

00:16:37 - 00:16:37 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:16:37 - 00:16:41 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, no, I thought it was a good movie. It shocked me when he said that.

00:16:41 - 00:16:54 | Speaker 1:

Spike, I got to tell you this, and you're going to hate to hear this because I know you love kids. But I had a kid that came up to me last week and told me that they don't ever want to meet you because you scare them when they hear you do your phone scams.

00:16:54 - 00:16:56 | Speaker 2:

Because of the voices that y'all did

00:16:56 - 00:17:06 | Speaker 1:

This mom was like But he's really a nice guy He's a little guy That's what she kept saying He's a little guy And the kid's like He scares me though But you listen to all those voices

00:17:06 - 00:17:14 | Speaker 2:

In like Rudolph in the 60s Was terrifying too All those German angry voices Or nobody likes a Charlie in a box That's so creepy

00:17:14 - 00:17:25 | Speaker 5:

When we used to do Santa scared straight with kids And you used to do your Santa voice Oh yeah It always reminded me of The guy who plays Santa Claus in A Christmas Story.

00:17:25 - 00:17:26 | Speaker 4:

Remember how scary that?

00:17:26 - 00:17:28 | Speaker 5:

That guy was, oh, that Santa was awful.

00:17:28 - 00:17:33 | Speaker 4:

Oh, ho, ho. And they do like a very close-up of him. Mall Santas are scary. That's so freaky.

00:17:33 - 00:18:45 | Speaker 1:

I'm going to tell you this. I've been to a mall and seen a Santa Claus in a couple of Christmases. But when the kids were younger, there was a mall Santa Claus that used to be over at the 12 Oaks Mall. And that guy was kind of a scary-looking dude. Like, he looked like Santa Claus, but he didn't have the demeanor of Santa Claus. And I think that it was from having kids like pee their pants on his leg for hours. You know what I mean? And then the teenage girls that are around them are all probably annoying the crap out of them too because they're not paying attention to allowing the next person to come up there and get their pictures taken. Has anybody ever been yelled at by a mall Santa Claus? You'll have to call us up and tell us because somebody told me a story about years ago, this might've been 20 some years ago, where a mall Santa Claus and a dad got in a fight because he yelled at the kid, and the dad's like, you're not yelling at my kid. And everybody's witnessing as the beautifully nice decorations that they had for the, I think it was, what was the, what's the train movie? The Polar Express. They had the Polar Express thing knocking over the Polar Express outlines. What's going on, Katie? Hi.

00:18:46 - 00:18:54 | Speaker 3:

Hi, the Christmas Carol with, even the mother one with Michael Caine. Yes! That story is freaky Very scary

00:18:54 - 00:19:00 | Speaker 1:

Or Home Alone Which your kids watch all the time Shannon There are so many scenes in that movie

00:19:00 - 00:19:04 | Speaker 5:

The furnace That's a scary one

00:19:04 - 00:19:10 | Speaker 1:

Joe Pesci for the longest time was a hard guy to look at After that movie Dalton's got a good one

00:19:10 - 00:19:13 | Speaker 2:

Because it goes back to Santa Claus is coming to town

00:19:13 - 00:19:15 | Speaker 1:

Which one Dalton scared the crap out of you?

00:19:16 - 00:19:17 | Speaker 7:

Oh the Winter Warlock

00:19:17 - 00:19:35 | Speaker 2:

The Winter Warlock at the end He's the big, white, scary dude. He screams, I'm nefarious. And he's like killing Christmas off for good and plunging us all into this dark wonderland of humbug. And he's terrifying to this day. I still have nightmares about that dude. Yeah. Like, how did they put that in front of me?

00:19:35 - 00:19:39 | Speaker 7:

Every time he comes on TV, they're like, oh, don't remember? You're going to go hide in the corner this time?

00:19:40 - 00:19:48 | Speaker 1:

Right. Isn't that funny? Yeah. Your parents put on a show that they knew was making you go to the corner, yet they would make you watch it every single year.

00:19:48 - 00:19:52 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, because my brother liked it, and I always joke around saying he's the favorite.

00:19:53 - 00:19:57 | Speaker 1:

How much therapy are you going through nowadays as a grown adult?

00:19:57 - 00:19:58 | Speaker 7:

Oh, I can't even count it.

00:20:00 - 00:20:00 | Speaker 8:

I've been through.

00:20:00 - 00:20:06 | Speaker 3:

Exactly. Thanks for the call, buddy. Have a Merry Christmas. Yeah, take care. Take care of yourself.

00:20:06 - 00:20:25 | Speaker 8:

There's just a lot about those specials that parents don't remember. They force the kids to watch every year. There's a lot of Rudolph. Like at one point, the abominable snow monster tries to murder Rudolph in front of his parents by smashing a giant icicle on his head. And there's just things in there you're like, oh, my God, this is very dark for a little kid's movie.

00:20:25 - 00:20:29 | Speaker 3:

Claudine says there's a conspiracy theory in the Rudolph movie. What's that, Claudine?

00:20:30 - 00:20:51 | Speaker 1:

um yes the i always wondered what was wrong with the doll like she didn't look like uh this fit couldn't figure out what was wrong with her yeah well i look she has her own page online she has psychological depression issues because she was a reach rejected by her former

00:20:51 - 00:21:08 | Speaker 8:

owner yeah that was a there was an interview gosh that goes back at least 10 years there was an interview with rankin the guy that produced all these things and they were like She looked perfectly fine What made her on the island of misfit toys And he's like she had psychiatric problems It's like what This is a children's show

00:21:08 - 00:21:16 | Speaker 1:

There's so many dysfunctional characters If you look back on that now Yeah Just the fact that we take

00:21:16 - 00:21:23 | Speaker 8:

Any toy that wasn't made properly We throw them onto this bare frozen island Where they cry and wander for eternity

00:21:23 - 00:21:28 | Speaker 3:

00:24:03 - 00:24:09 | Speaker 7:

It's actually a really good movie But my mom's a mega pink fan And I actually took her to that concert in 2013.

00:25:25 - 00:25:39 | Speaker 2:

Good luck. All right. It's Mojo in the morning show. getting ready for the holidays is always fun i want to bring reese in for this next topic here uh reese has a question to ask uh about the holidays and what is that question reese so

00:25:39 - 00:26:26 | Speaker 1:

my sister always makes an amazon wish list every single year for christmas i personally love it because she has three kids that are under three and i never know what to buy them and i'm one of those people that always buys gift cards for everybody like everyone so i i really do appreciate these wish lists but my mom despises these wish lists grandma doesn't like it huh grandma does not like the wish list whatsoever she thinks it's very snobby and very um tacky again yeah i don't know but does she buy things off the wish list does she utilize it she kind of does she'll get the idea from the wish list but she won't actually buy the specific thing if that makes sense okay She'll let my sister know that, like, she kind of looked at it, but, like, she didn't take it too seriously.

00:26:26 - 00:26:35 | Speaker 2:

Wow, so it's – grandma wants to just be able to buy for her granddaughter, right? Whatever – you guys have, what, a niece?

00:26:36 - 00:26:37 | Speaker 1:

One nephew, two nieces.

00:26:37 - 00:26:38 | Speaker 2:

Okay, so –

00:26:38 - 00:26:39 | Speaker 1:

All under three.

00:26:39 - 00:26:41 | Speaker 2:

All right. Your niece, though, is your favorite out of all of them, right?

00:26:42 - 00:26:42 | Unknown:

I mean –

00:26:42 - 00:26:54 | Speaker 2:

That's the only one that gets in pictures with you, right? But this is interesting. Grandma doesn't like this, but it is, you know, the way, I guess, to go nowadays.

00:26:55 - 00:27:02 | Speaker 1:

I love it, personally. I mean, they're always changing clothes and sizes and interests and all that stuff, so it makes it a lot easier.

00:27:03 - 00:27:11 | Speaker 2:

Does she need to buy off of that? Can't she just go and buy whatever she wants to buy, or does that upset your sister?

00:27:11 - 00:27:17 | Speaker 1:

it doesn't really upset her but i feel like she does really hope that everyone's gonna go off

00:27:17 - 00:27:41 | Speaker 3:

this list it's funny because it's the opposite of my family situation my the grandparents always demand lists they want lists so much they want lists because they want to get the kids what they want it's me that i like uh okay how can i sensitively put this here we've talked about this before and it's caused family quabbles squabbles i get lists uh my sister sent me lists

00:27:41 - 00:27:55 | Speaker 2:

unsolicited for her this year this year yeah it's happened many times i'm sorry we're gonna have to back burner your question no no no no because spike sisters famous infamous on this radio show

00:27:55 - 00:28:46 | Speaker 3:

reese i just want you to know that for the well it's it's funny because i you know this year i actually appreciate i didn't ask for it what did you have on the list i didn't ask for i just got it but i do appreciate it this year because when i was married chris would do all the shopping for the kids and stuff so yeah i'm a little more i'm i'm a little more clueless you know i don't really pay as close attention so as the kids grow they get different interests so i guess in the end it was good that i had this list that i didn't ask for at all you always buy your nieces and nephews gifts uh we get them a little something because we're spending time we're gonna be at their house on christmas day yeah so it's nice to give them something to open but what's funniest about the list is my sister always sends a list and then shops off the list and then puts notes i bought this i bought that i bought this and you're like well then why did you why are you

00:28:46 - 00:28:57 | Speaker 2:

sending it to me spike please there's got to be something interesting on that list that you can share with us i'm not sharing anything come on why are you so worried about that because i have

00:28:57 - 00:29:01 | Speaker 3:

to sleep there in two weeks, but

00:29:01 - 00:29:05 | Speaker 2:

I will say... In years past, you've never been worried about insulting your sister. I will say

00:29:05 - 00:29:19 | Speaker 3:

because you opened your big mouth when the day I asked you not to, you said something so she heard it and she got really offended and it lasted a whole year. Okay. So I'm trying to... I apologize, Patty. I'm trying to be respectful because I know my nephew listens every morning and this is going to get back

00:29:19 - 00:29:21 | Speaker 2:

to her. Tell him to just shut his trap.

00:29:23 - 00:29:35 | Speaker 3:

The funniest thing about the list is that she provides the exact link to Amazon with very specific instructions. It has to be this size, this color, she doesn't like this, da-da-da. Which, again, now I find it helpful

00:29:35 - 00:29:39 | Speaker 2:

because... Is there anything that's unusual on the list, though? You can at least

00:29:39 - 00:29:45 | Speaker 3:

say that. Well, they're teenagers, so everything's unusual. Yeah. But... He wants

00:29:45 - 00:29:50 | Speaker 2:

her so bad. I wish you could see his face. He's struggling with what to say.

00:29:51 - 00:30:10 | Speaker 3:

Okay. I'll just say this. no i can't it's too i don't want him back i I'll get in a fight with my sister. I don't embarrass my niece, so I won't say it. There's just an item that if I saw this item on the list, I would have bought it that day. If my daughter asked for it, I would have bought it that day for her. Really? Oh, my gosh.

00:30:10 - 00:30:15 | Speaker 4:

So it's not like an outfit or a toy or anything like that? Like, here's an example.

00:30:16 - 00:30:39 | Speaker 3:

I keep bugging my daughters for lists for their grandparents. I said, if you don't give me a list, they're going to buy something silly and creagy that your grandparents don't understand what you like. so my daughter put a list together and she said i need allegra allergy medicine i said what wait what and natalie's like well you know she spends a lot of money on this up at school tell grandma on the gift for it i'm like babe i'll get you allergy medicine you can't ask for

00:30:39 - 00:30:43 | Speaker 4:

that for christmas so there's like there's stuff like that on your sister's list like that that

00:30:43 - 00:30:49 | Speaker 3:

oh no like something that i would have just said oh my god just go buy it i'll venmo you today just

00:30:49 - 00:30:59 | Speaker 4:

if you need allergy medicine just go get it like things that things that a mom and dad will should buy not uh aunt and uncle buying you a fun christmas gift yes so when i saw that on the

00:30:59 - 00:31:04 | Speaker 3:

list i'm like just go buy it for your kid what are you making her wait three weeks for somebody

00:31:04 - 00:31:29 | Speaker 4:

for an aunt to get poor thing we had an aunt that one time she would always buy us gifts and one time she bought us she you could tell that she didn't get to the store she went to like walgreens and so everybody got something from walgreens sometimes they've got good stuff there. I'm not going to lie. My sister got like potholders. My other sister got toilet paper, which was the funniest thing of all. But remember last year

00:31:29 - 00:31:41 | Speaker 3:

Mike stopped at the truck stop on the way to our last show of the year and he bought everybody's gifts at the truck stop. That still might be one of my favorite gifts I got last year was the little baby Yoda doll that he found. It was like an awesome find. Hey, Danielle, what's up?

00:31:41 - 00:31:42 | Speaker 4:

It's Mojo in the morning.

00:31:43 - 00:32:05 | Speaker 1:

Hi, Mojo. Hi, Shannon. Hi, everyone. Good morning. Good morning. So you guys are talking about the Christmas list And I think it's Like fine with like children But I had my dad And his girlfriend like out of nowhere Group texting my siblings Their Amazon wish list for Christmas And I thought that was very strange

00:32:05 - 00:32:19 | Speaker 3:

Well we talked about adult lists this week And Mojo said he'd welcome them I do like my wife Yeah and I actually I don't mind When Reese talks about his family I'm okay with anybody give me some ideas Because I want to get something you like.

00:32:20 - 00:32:24 | Speaker 4:

Unsolicited, though, sending it when you guys normally don't buy gifts for them?

00:32:24 - 00:32:41 | Speaker 1:

See, that's a different story. Yeah, it was totally unsolicited. And normally we just, like, do quick, like, gift card exchanges, you know, just like normal people do. And then out of nowhere there was just a whole lift full of, like, snorkeling gear, pants, like GoPro accessories. And I was like, what the hell?

00:32:41 - 00:32:47 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's expensive stuff. I would just get them an Amazon gift card for a small dollar amount.

00:32:47 - 00:32:55 | Speaker 1:

I think I'm going to. I still haven't gotten them anything, so I'll just get them the Amazon gift card in here. Send it on your own wish list, whatever.

00:32:56 - 00:32:58 | Speaker 3:

I would never send a list to anyone who didn't ask for it.

00:32:59 - 00:33:10 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's weird. You know what we should do, though? We should just randomly one day all send out to our email list our wish list and see what responses we get from people.

00:33:10 - 00:33:13 | Speaker 1:

Because our boss, Paul, would probably buy us each something.

00:33:13 - 00:33:22 | Speaker 2:

As you go through the holiday season, just remember that the word stressed is just dessert spelled backward. Now overindulge at that Christmas party.

00:33:22 - 00:33:47 | Speaker 3:

Let's do a mojo in the morning phone scam. Walder is a general manager of a restaurant that we've all enjoyed. And I can't say the name of it, but apparently this place is a big flirty party with the staff. It's a fun place to work, much like it is here, as we've just learned. Some people may be having a little flirty co-worker time. But that's aside from the point. I'm going to accuse the manager of dating an employee And sexual harassment So let's really see him squirm

00:33:47 - 00:34:03 | Speaker 2:

We will, we will Scam you Sorry, it's a catchy song It's your home of phone scams Mojo in the morning Good afternoon, I think we're calling it Featuring great food to go This is Chuck speaking, and how can I help you?

00:34:03 - 00:34:05 | Speaker 3:

Chuck, I'm looking for Walter, please

00:34:05 - 00:34:06 | Speaker 2:

Oh, okay, hold that one moment

00:34:06 - 00:34:09 | Speaker 3:

Thank you Oh my god, what is that?

00:34:10 - 00:34:14 | Unknown:

Hello, it's Walter. May I help you?

00:34:14 - 00:34:34 | Speaker 3:

Walter. Yeah. This is Bert Ward from the home office in Overland Park. How are you? All right. How are you doing? Good. Do you have a second to talk? Sure. It's kind of a sensitive topic, but I was asked to bring this to your attention and follow it to the next level. Okay. There's been a complaint filed about a bartender named ***.

00:34:34 - 00:34:35 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

00:34:36 - 00:34:39 | Speaker 3:

And it involves maybe you being a little too flirtatious.

00:34:40 - 00:34:41 | Speaker 2:

Really?

00:34:41 - 00:34:42 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:34:44 - 00:34:44 | Speaker 2:

Okie doke.

00:34:45 - 00:35:14 | Speaker 3:

And obviously, you being a manager, that could be a sensitive topic. Yes, it could. I don't need to tell you, if this gets up to Lloyd Hill's office, we're all cooked like a Christmas goose. Right, I understand. Can you fill me in on your end? What's going on in the store? I mean, obviously, I'm not local, so I don't... know what's going on there. Not a clue where that would come from. If the complaint came from her, I would find that odd because I have actually had a conversation with her about watching what she says to other people. Yeah, see, I don't know if it's coming from

00:35:14 - 00:35:23 | Speaker 2:

her or from someone else. It could be coming from someone else in the store. Oh, okay. When you say you had a conversation with her, does that mean... She sometimes speaks

00:35:23 - 00:35:25 | Speaker 3:

She's a little too freely to guess at other employees.

00:35:26 - 00:35:27 | Speaker 2:

Oh, okay.

00:35:27 - 00:35:36 | Speaker 3:

She's kind of a rowdy, outspoken kind of girl. I can pretty honestly say that I haven't instigated anything that I would feel would get me in trouble.

00:35:37 - 00:36:16 | Speaker 2:

You haven't? No. I'll tell you what I hear. I mean, other than just conversations that might be making people uncomfortable in the store, it's also they're saying maybe you guys, you buy her a lot of gifts? Never once. No jewelry, clothing, undergarments, gardening supplies, gallon of milk, jumper cables, salad spinner, pet spider monkey. Is this a joke? Well, it's not. I mean, total sales for the a***** concept reached $2.93 billion last year, and we can't be putting all that on the line with any harassment suit or anything.

00:36:16 - 00:36:23 | Speaker 3:

I agree 100%. Never bought her a gift, never bought her a dinner, never spoken to her outside my building.

00:36:24 - 00:36:58 | Speaker 2:

Do you call her naughty sugar muffin around other employees? No. Okay. It's the corporate policy in handling a complaint such as this. You know, obviously we go through the initial employee interviews, find out what's really going on. Right. That's followed by a probationary period, which is where we'll schedule you guys for opposite working hours. We'll ask you to not schedule her while you're working and vice versa. We'll just ask you to call us here in the office whenever you need to talk to her so we can arrange for a witness to all conversations and encounters, you know, just that there's a third party involved.

00:37:00 - 00:37:04 | Speaker 3:

You're saying if I have to come to the bar and have the bartender do something, I have to call you guys?

00:37:04 - 00:37:15 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. I mean, obviously, first you can just get somebody else to go to the bar, but if you think you really need to talk to the bartender, then maybe you call us and then we'll set up for somebody to be there at the time to witness the conversation.

00:37:17 - 00:37:21 | Speaker 3:

I really don't see how that's feasible to do and run in a restaurant as a general manager.

00:37:24 - 00:37:57 | Speaker 2:

Also, if a customer orders a summer squeeze or a patty melt, you'll have to allow another team member to fill the order due to, you know, the double entendre and the titles there. Who am I speaking to? And one more thing, I'll appreciate your cooperation. I mean, it's not a sprint, it's a marathon. If anyone comes to your restaurant and they sit down to eat with their family, I want you to tell them that you've just been a victim of Emojo in the Morning Phone Scam. Walter, this isn't really Burt Word from Corpus. Yeah, I figured. Jennifer, Angie, and Kathy called us from the other Applebee's and want us to give you a phone scam.

00:37:57 - 00:37:58 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that's funny.

00:38:00 - 00:38:03 | Speaker 1:

So if you don't call her Honey or Sweetie, what do you call her?

00:38:03 - 00:38:05 | Speaker 3:

Oh, let's not even go there.

00:38:07 - 00:38:14 | Speaker 1:

We will, we will scam you. You're home with a phone scam.

00:38:14 - 00:38:16 | Speaker 2:

This is Mojo in the Morning show. You've just been phone scammed, sugar.

00:38:16 - 00:38:21 | Speaker 1:

This is Mojo in the Morning. It's Mojo in the Morning's 5 at 6.55.

00:38:22 - 00:38:52 | Speaker 2:

5 at 6.55, yo, 5 at 6.55, yo, now. All right. We have Mark on the line who is going for win number two. And I don't know. You think you could do it back-to-back, Mark? You know, I'm going to try. Okay. I will do that. That's all we ask for. Just like your third grade English teacher, we're just asking you to try. Do your best. We got a contestant for you that's going to be your challenger. Her name is Maria. Hi, Maria. Good morning.

00:38:53 - 00:38:54 | Speaker 3:

Good morning.

00:38:54 - 00:38:59 | Speaker 2:

You're listening in Grand Rapids. Is that correct? What do you do? Are you on your way to work, school? What are you up to?

00:39:00 - 00:39:03 | Speaker 3:

I'm just out of work and I'm taking my kids to the bus back.

00:39:04 - 00:39:12 | Speaker 2:

Okay. Awesome. Well, we're glad we can have you on. Let's see if you can take on Mark. I'm guessing that you listen to the 5 at 6.55 every morning because you know how it works, right?

00:39:13 - 00:39:14 | Speaker 3:

Yep, I listen every day.

00:39:15 - 00:39:20 | Speaker 2:

Okay, perfect. Let's see how you do. First, say goodbye to Mark. We're going to lock him up in the soundproof booth.

00:39:21 - 00:39:21 | Speaker 1:

Bye, Mark.

00:39:22 - 00:40:55 | Speaker 2:

Bye, Mark. There he goes. He's on hold. Now he's in the other room talking to Lydia so that he can hear your answers. Five pop culture questions. Whoever gets the most right will be our winner. If there's a tie, it'll go to our current champion, which is Mark. Here we go, Maria. Question number one. 00:40:57 - 00:41:00 | Speaker 3:

Oh, Maui. Oh, Moana.

00:41:01 - 00:41:28 | Speaker 2:

All right, let's see how you did. We're going to bring Mark back on the air and push that button there to unlock him. Hey, Mark, you back? Yes. Okay, just have to test my own control skills here, pushing all the lighted buttons. Okay, so, Mike, how did Maria do? It was a rough go. She got three out of five. Three out of five, Maria. So there's a little room, a little wiggle room for Mark to take over. Let's see how he does. You ready, Mark?

00:41:28 - 00:41:29 | Unknown:

Yes.

00:41:29 - 00:41:42 | Speaker 2:

That's got to be a stranger thing.

00:41:45 - 00:41:46 | Speaker 2:

Yes. Ooh, one-nothing.

00:41:47 - 00:41:47 | Speaker 3:

It's Mojo in the mornings. Five is six fifty five. Cheaters and proud of it. I'm sorry. It's your home for more of the roses on Mojo in the morning.

00:44:45 - 00:44:46 | Speaker 2:

Kim, why do you think your husband is cheating on you?

00:44:46 - 00:45:00 | Speaker 1:

well i uh went away for a business trip a couple weeks ago and i came home and found a couple of half empty bottles of

00:45:00 - 00:45:05 | Speaker 3:

fireball and rum chata hidden away in the recycling bin.

00:45:06 - 00:45:11 | Speaker 1:

So what would make you think that he's cheating because there's rum chata and fireball?

00:45:12 - 00:45:18 | Speaker 3:

He doesn't drink that stuff, so I thought maybe there was a party. I mean, he's an artisan old beer kind of a guy.

00:45:18 - 00:45:20 | Speaker 1:

Did you ask him if he had people over?

00:45:21 - 00:45:35 | Speaker 3:

I did, and he said, no, he didn't. But before I asked him, I went and looked at my Nest Cam, which he had unplugged for the week that I was gone. Like, it was just black.

00:45:36 - 00:45:37 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah. Oh, really?

00:45:38 - 00:45:38 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:45:38 - 00:45:41 | Speaker 1:

Did you say to him, hey, what was up with the Nest Cam?

00:45:42 - 00:45:43 | Speaker 3:

He doesn't know.

00:45:44 - 00:45:53 | Speaker 1:

So, are you assuming that if there's this, you know, what did you say? It was rum chata? What did you say it was? It was fireball.

00:45:53 - 00:45:56 | Speaker 3:

rum chata and fireball so I think he had a girl over

00:45:56 - 00:45:58 | Speaker 1:

because of

00:45:58 - 00:46:00 | Speaker 3:

the choice of liquor

00:46:00 - 00:46:03 | Speaker 1:

he had a college girl over or he had me

00:46:03 - 00:46:20 | Speaker 2:

Shannon's mom over the Nescam thing though is suspicious because it can go offline I have one it can go offline by itself but if you I mean you could unplug it you could turn it off did it just show up black

00:46:20 - 00:46:38 | Speaker 3:

yeah it was completely black when I went to go see what was going on it had been unplugged and he must have forgotten to plug it in and again he doesn't drink that sweet stuff it just isn't his thing and who put two half full bottles of liquor in the garbage and hides it and it wasn't even the garbage it was the

00:46:38 - 00:46:40 | Speaker 1:

recycling oh at least he's conscientious

00:46:40 - 00:46:45 | Speaker 3:

well you can't recycle if there's still stuff inside of it you gotta wash that out

00:46:45 - 00:46:59 | Speaker 1:

alright we're going to call him up to see where he's going to send a dozen free roses It's the Mojo in the Morning, War of the Roses. Is Kim's husband cheating on her? I want you to keep quiet, mute your phone, and let Shannon do all the talking.

00:47:00 - 00:47:13 | Unknown:

Okay. Hello?

00:47:14 - 00:47:15 | Speaker 2:

Hey, I'm looking for Logan, please.

00:47:16 - 00:47:17 | Speaker 3:

Who's asking?

00:47:17 - 00:47:31 | Speaker 2:

Hi, Logan. My name's Nicole, and I'm calling you from an internet floral company called rosesbloom.com. And if you have 30 seconds of free time to answer two quick survey questions for me, Logan, we're going to give you a dozen long-stemmed red roses that you can send to anybody anywhere in the country.

00:47:32 - 00:47:33 | Speaker 3:

Okay.

00:47:34 - 00:47:39 | Speaker 2:

Can you do that for me? 30 seconds tops.

00:47:39 - 00:47:40 | Speaker 3:

Sure.

00:47:40 - 00:47:47 | Speaker 2:

Okay. Have you purchased flowers in the past six months? No. And do you plan on purchasing flowers in the next six months?

00:47:48 - 00:47:48 | Speaker 3:

No, not really.

00:47:49 - 00:48:06 | Speaker 2:

Okay. That's all I needed from you, and as a thank you for participating in that rosesbloom.com survey, like I said, we're going to give you that dozen long-stemmed red roses, and these can go anywhere in the country. We're not going to ask you for your credit card information or anything like that, but I do need some info about the person that you want to send them to, starting off with a first and a last name.

00:48:07 - 00:48:10 | Speaker 3:

Okay. Yeah, Kim really...

00:48:10 - 00:48:21 | Speaker 2:

Okay. And before I get her telephone number, can I also just get her relationship to you just so we have it on file in case you order from us, hopefully in the future?

00:48:22 - 00:48:22 | Speaker 3:

She's just a good friend.

00:48:23 - 00:48:23 | Unknown:

Okay.

00:48:24 - 00:48:45 | Speaker 2:

And we can also include a message with the flowers, kind of like what you would write on a card if you wanted to do that. No, that's okay. I mean, my name on there is fine. So just sign just your name. Yeah, just my name's fine. Okay. Cool. And, Logan, we also have to let you know that this call is being recorded for quality and training purposes. Are you okay with that?

00:48:47 - 00:48:49 | Speaker 3:

I guess so.

00:48:50 - 00:48:50 | Speaker 2:

Great.

00:48:51 - 00:49:16 | Speaker 1:

Logan, I'm going to jump on so I can get that phone number from you. Before I do that, I also have to let you know that while we were talking to you and you were sending the flowers, your wife was listening in on the phone and heard you send them to another woman. Logan, this is the mojo on the morning show.

00:49:19 - 00:49:19 | Speaker 3:

Okay.

00:49:20 - 00:49:27 | Speaker 1:

And we were doing a thing that we call the War of the Roses because your wife was suspecting that you might be cheating on her.

00:49:29 - 00:49:31 | Speaker 3:

Well, I'm not cheating on her.

00:49:34 - 00:49:38 | Speaker 1:

Kim, do you know who that is that he sent the flowers to?

00:49:39 - 00:49:41 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's one of his female co-workers.

00:49:46 - 00:49:50 | Speaker 1:

Logan? Yes. This is your chance to explain.

00:49:54 - 00:49:59 | Speaker 3:

Well, I just thought it would be a nice deed.

00:50:00 - 00:50:05 | Speaker 5:

you thought it was why send them to a co-worker over your wife

00:50:05 - 00:50:12 | Speaker 1:

that's a good question and what would be a good answer

00:50:12 - 00:50:21 | Speaker 3:

i i i really don't know what to tell you like why is she top of mind

00:50:21 - 00:50:25 | Speaker 7:

um pardon me why is she top of mind

00:50:25 - 00:50:35 | Speaker 4:

well like i said she's just a good friend wanted to show my appreciation for what

00:50:35 - 00:51:12 | Speaker 10:

just being there are you her no i'm not was she there for you the week i went Is that what you're thanking her for? Did you also thank her with rum chata and fireball? And she, you have to thank her for something that was so amazing. You had to unplug the Nest Cam.

00:51:13 - 00:51:15 | Speaker 3:

I think we need to talk about this in person and not on the phone.

00:51:16 - 00:51:23 | Speaker 10:

I tried talking to you about this in person. You lied to my faith. How about this?

00:51:23 - 00:51:27 | Speaker 2:

Why don't I put you guys on hold so you can talk to each other so that we're not listening?

00:51:29 - 00:51:30 | Speaker 10:

It's good with me.

00:51:34 - 00:51:54 | Speaker 2:

Hang on one second. Busted again. It's your home for War of the Roses. Kim, do you know who that is that he sent the flowers to?

00:51:55 - 00:51:57 | Speaker 10:

Yeah, it's one of his female co-workers.

00:52:03 - 00:52:15 | Speaker 3:

Logan? Yes. This is your chance to explain. Well, I... I just thought it would be a nice deed

00:52:15 - 00:52:21 | Speaker 5:

But why send them to a co-worker over your wife?

00:52:24 - 00:52:28 | Speaker 1:

That's a good question And what would be a good answer?

00:52:33 - 00:52:35 | Speaker 3:

I really don't know what to tell you

00:52:35 - 00:52:37 | Speaker 7:

Like why is she top of mind?

00:52:38 - 00:52:39 | Speaker 3:

Pardon me?

00:52:39 - 00:52:41 | Speaker 7:

Why is she top of mind?

00:52:41 - 00:52:48 | Speaker 4:

well like i said she's just a good friend wanted to show my appreciation

00:52:48 - 00:52:56 | Speaker 2:

mojo in the morning show hi angie war of the roses you want to comment morning hi hi so why

00:52:56 - 00:53:21 | Speaker 9:

not show appreciation to your wife i mean she's traveling for work right isn't that what she said yeah yeah so she's traveling for work um and why not show appreciation to her because she's traveling to provide for you obviously to bring food you know like he's just not very suspicious and especially if he doesn't drink that alcohol she was talking about so i don't know he just

00:53:21 - 00:53:25 | Speaker 2:

sounds very suspicious yeah he sounds more than just suspicious you can say other words about that

00:53:25 - 00:53:34 | Speaker 9:

right yeah i already did in the text oh what did you text i can't say it oh no honestly what did

00:53:34 - 00:53:52 | Speaker 6:

just say it say it to me oh dickhead oh you actually can't say that dickhead dickhead it's like dickhead if i got long-stemmed red roses from either one of you two and it wasn't like no ever like you i think you both sent me flowers for the birth of babies but other than that i would

00:53:52 - 00:54:01 | Speaker 2:

be really weirded out just randomly yeah that that's weird also uh sue yeah that nest cam thing

00:54:01 - 00:54:19 | Speaker 8:

is kind of weird too isn't it it's really weird i mean it's well that's obvious that he did he he did something wrong or he wouldn't have unplugged the nest cam my question is they obviously have a nest cam which means they have kids most likely oh that doesn't so no actually

00:54:19 - 00:54:23 | Speaker 2:

i don't think a lot of people get them just to have for home security yeah they don't they don't

00:54:23 - 00:54:34 | Speaker 8:

have kids they don't have kids well he he definitely he i mean there's no question in my mind because i drink rum chata and my husband would never think of it so come on see i don't

00:54:34 - 00:54:38 | Speaker 6:

mix it with fireball for a shot it's called a cinnamon toast crunch it's amazing i like rum

00:54:38 - 00:54:49 | Speaker 2:

chata so don't let's not stereotype rum chata people it's okay but don't admit that you drink it oh jesus all right thank you i appreciate that uh hi erin how are you i'm getting shamed

00:54:49 - 00:54:59 | Speaker 8:

for being a rum chata drinker what's going on uh well you know haters gonna hate my my theory on this is that uh he's not a 100

00:55:00 - 00:55:29 | Speaker 6:

100% lying, but he is cheating. He doesn't think he's cheating because at this point he's still trying to make something happen. I think he unplugged the Nest Cam the first night she came over. They had those drinks because, you know, you drink those kind of fast. To go through only half a bottle means you didn't have multiple sittings with it. You forgot to plug the camera back in. You don't send roses to just a co-worker. But when he did it, he was just a good friend. He's caught in a lie, but he's not stumbling like some of the other people. By the way, Aaron, I want to say this.

00:55:30 - 00:55:40 | Speaker 1:

I give this guy credit because he stayed on the phone with us. So I'm going to give him a little applause here right now. I don't know if you get applause for that. No, no, no. I'm giving him applause because we get a—

00:55:40 - 00:55:42 | Speaker 6:

A lot of people applauded that NASCAR crashes, too. Yes, that's right.

00:55:43 - 00:55:53 | Speaker 1:

We've not had a guy that wanted to hang on the phone for a while, and he hung on the phone. They talked off the air for a little bit. Not very nice talk, but Victoria?

00:55:54 - 00:55:55 | Unknown:

Yes.

00:55:56 - 00:56:07 | Speaker 1:

Hi, War of the Roses. If you just missed this thing, you've got to listen to the podcast of The War of the Roses this morning as Kim heard her husband send flowers to another woman, a woman that he works with. What did you want to say?

00:56:08 - 00:56:36 | Speaker 3:

I wanted to say that I don't think he's having an affair. He's probably having an emotional affair. A lot of times in relationships, you know, people argue and, you know, they're not really getting along. And maybe this woman at work listened to him and they kind of commiserate about their relationship. maybe his wife needs to be more attentive so that um in any relationship either person you know when you're complaining all the time or you know people get comfortable in their marriages and they don't

00:56:36 - 00:56:46 | Speaker 1:

fulfill the needs of the other person no that's a very that's a very very good point that you you uh say that it may not be a physical relationship but it could very well be just

00:56:46 - 00:57:03 | Speaker 7:

an emotional relationship but i think that that that's then the crack right that starts to get bigger and bigger and bigger and pretty soon it's the Grand Canyon and there's a full-blown affair going on if it if not already right I don't think it's happening just yet I just I

00:57:03 - 00:57:09 | Speaker 3:

I sense that he's finding comfort in somebody else hearing about his opinion and maybe his

00:57:09 - 00:57:22 | Speaker 1:

wife should make him feel like he's more needed well I don't know if I would put the shame on her for that I wouldn't do that but I hate but Joe actually brings up an interesting point here Joe, what did you want to say? You're defending this guy?

00:57:22 - 00:57:36 | Speaker 4:

Well, I didn't quite say I defended him. I'm just saying maybe he's ashamed that he wanted to have a nice, relaxing weekend with some rum chata and fireball, and he doesn't want to tell his wife about it. He wanted to pamper himself a little bit. But he is still a dickhead. Right, right.

00:57:37 - 00:57:45 | Speaker 1:

Exactly. Thank you for the call, man. I appreciate that. Yeah, that's why he unplugged the Nest Cam, because he didn't want his wife to know that he was drinking rum chata.

00:57:45 - 00:57:47 | Speaker 2:

That's my favorite phone call.

00:57:47 - 00:57:48 | Speaker 1:

That is a great one.

00:57:48 - 00:58:34 | Speaker 2:

mary yeah i'm here hi mary so i was just gonna say like when shannon had asked him you know why send roses to a co-worker over your wife his response was just so you know it wasn't good at all he's like oh that's a good question you know i mean i felt like he said oh we're good friends it seems to me that they're not just good friends it seems that they're more like friends with benefits you know it's more of a physical thing the way i'm interpreting it and you know i disagree with the other girl who was saying it's more emotional if it was emotional why would have to hide you know from your wife the the like alcohol liquor bottles and unplug the nest cam you know if they're getting comfortable in the relationship they should be able to talk with each other you know not hide and and just lie to each other like that i asked uh off the air um and

00:58:34 - 00:58:58 | Speaker 1:

he refused to allow me to to put that part on the air but i asked hey so if you and this co-worker are just buddy buddy or this is you're just trying to you know make her have a nice weekend or something i said can we call her i said let's just call her out and he refused to give us uh her number because he said he did not want to have that uh that co-worker get involved in this

00:58:58 - 00:59:04 | Speaker 2:

so i disagree i think i think it's pretty important that we hear her side too you know

00:59:04 - 00:59:18 | Speaker 1:

she's just as much involved in it as they are yeah well thank you for the call appreciate you listening to the show thanks for listening to war of the roses of course yeah guys have a nice day All right, you too. Take care. What's up, Mike?

00:59:19 - 00:59:24 | Speaker 5:

This is Mike. I think he wanted to be like your son. He wanted to have a threesome. He was doing some interviewing.

00:59:24 - 00:59:27 | Speaker 1:

Why do you got to bring that up, Mike? Like, seriously.

00:59:27 - 00:59:31 | Speaker 5:

Mike, Mike. I'm happily married. I'm thinking about it.

00:59:31 - 00:59:40 | Speaker 1:

Mike, Mike, do you understand that I haven't even thought about that for weeks now, and you had to bring that bad thing up again?

00:59:41 - 00:59:44 | Speaker 5:

Your son is the hero of every American man. Oh, my goodness gracious.

00:59:44 - 00:59:57 | Speaker 1:

Mike, my son Joe already has a big enough head than to have you calling up here and bringing up, rehashing his threesome that he announced on the radio.

00:59:57 - 00:59:59 | Speaker 5:

We're living through your son.

01:00:00 - 01:00:30 | Speaker 3:

All right. All right, Mike. Well, thank you.

01:00:30 - 01:00:32 | Speaker 5:

01:01:58 - 01:02:01 | Speaker 1:

Oh, what a great way to start your day. You want to shout out your kids or your school?

01:02:24 - 01:02:27 | Speaker 5:

01:02:35 - 01:02:41 | Speaker 3:

Call us. 844-MOJO-LIVE. 844-665-6548.

01:02:42 - 01:02:43 | Speaker 5:

This is Mojo in the Morning.

01:02:51 - 01:03:18 | Speaker 4:

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas Just like the ones I used to know Where those treetops bliss I had Children listen to hear Sleigh bells in the snow

01:03:18 - 01:03:57 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to explain here in a second why Mike is the worst parent ever. You've all known him as a great parent. I mean, people tell me all the time, including the great friend of the Mojo in the Morning Show who made a huge donation to our Brickman and Christmas Wish, the DeLiz family. Jessica DeLiz said that she listens to Mike tell stories all the time on the air about his kids and Allie. He is the true guy's guy that we love. Until you hear this story about, Mike, what have you not even started yet?

01:03:58 - 01:04:10 | Speaker 2:

So here's the thing. I have not gone Christmas shopping for my anybody at all. Not one single person except for the show.

01:04:10 - 01:04:14 | Speaker 3:

You did guess. You did get a nice gift for our holiday gift exchange.

01:04:14 - 01:04:35 | Speaker 2:

I did. But I don't know where the time went. Even like a month ago, I'm like, you know what? I'm going to get ahead of this. I'm going to go Christmas shopping. And we're like, ah, we'll do it next weekend. Ah, we'll do it next weekend. Ah, we'll do it next weekend. So here we are, a week before Christmas. And I have yet. I mean, I know what I want to get. You've got a whole bit there.

01:04:35 - 01:04:38 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, you cross your fingers and your toes at this point.

01:04:38 - 01:04:56 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah. I know. I went to Meijer last night just to pick up some food or whatever. There aren't even cars. You know how there's always carts when you first walk in? Oh, yeah. There are no carts. There's no carts. The carts are all taken. Well, because there's so many. I mean, there were so many people in the store right now. And half the shelves are, I mean, are empty.

01:04:56 - 01:04:57 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Because.

01:04:57 - 01:04:59 | Speaker 2:

So, is there anybody else that's.

01:05:00 - 01:05:10 | Speaker 6:

hasn't done any Christmas shopping yet at all, you'll have to share in Mike's story here, 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548, or text 95500.

01:05:10 - 01:05:34 | Speaker 2:

One of my best friends, Ashley, her parents made it a tradition to not do any Christmas shopping until Christmas Eve, and then they would both get super sloshed, and they would go and do all of it for the kids, and Ashley was like, my sister and I got the best gifts, because my parents just would spend money because they were drunk, so they would get, like, the craziest over-the-top stuff.

01:05:35 - 01:06:17 | Speaker 6:

I was one of six kids, and we had three boys and three girls in the family, and all the guys in the family, led by my dad, Tony, Bill, myself, we would go with my dad to the mall, and then my dad would get drunk at Chi-Chi's, and my older brother would have to drive all of us home, even when he didn't have a driver's license, because my dad would get so drunk on margaritas and we would eat chips and salsa because he wouldn't let us order anything. It was like, I'm just here for drinks. So I would have a pop and I would have chips and salsa and my dad would drink about 20 margaritas. But all the guys would go to the mall first and buy stuff. And that was our tradition because my dad was a drunk.

01:06:17 - 01:06:37 | Speaker 5:

I know, I know, my dad. So our plan is to, I mean, we're staying out here tonight. Allie's coming into town. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, and the kids. guys are you getting away from the kids yeah yeah because we have the christmas shop like that's the plan is we're gonna stay out here tonight we're gonna go to the the show tonight and then we're um tomorrow all day all day long we're gonna go all over so i'm gonna drive all over michigan

01:06:37 - 01:07:02 | Speaker 6:

hoping that tell mike uh if you uh if you live uh in the detroit area where mike should go i mean if there's anything else uh you know obviously you can go to walmart and targets anywhere but um uh we got to because we got some good malls here you know yeah yeah oakland 12 oaks uh somerset collection uh what's what else uh what was that dollar store too i might

01:07:02 - 01:07:11 | Speaker 5:

check out that place that i'm serious yes yes uh what's going on devon yes you're like mike

01:07:11 - 01:07:18 | Speaker 3:

i am yeah i'm going sunday to finish christmas shopping for my kids so don't feel so bad

01:07:18 - 01:07:22 | Speaker 5:

are you nervous are you feeling do you feel like there's going to be nothing in the stores

01:07:22 - 01:07:31 | Speaker 3:

I mean, a little bit. I mean, I've done, I can't lie, I've done a little bit online, but not too much. So I'm a little nervous about what they're going to end up with.

01:07:31 - 01:07:42 | Speaker 1:

I got to be honest, you might face a few specific issues with supply chain, but the deals are the best the weekend before Christmas. They say they are the lowest, best prices, even better than Black Friday. Really?

01:07:43 - 01:07:48 | Speaker 3:

Well, maybe we were doing it the right way then. It was not intended. That's good.

01:07:49 - 01:07:51 | Speaker 6:

It's a happy accident. What's up, Gina?

01:07:52 - 01:08:13 | Speaker 4:

hi there good morning good morning mike i am even worse than you i have zero gifts and my tree is still in the basement i'm done oh my gosh are you gonna put it up at this point yes i still have to put it up because we're having the kids over so yeah they have to be up so yes trees going up this weekend and gifts hopefully on sunday if not i think it's going to be gift cards this year

01:08:13 - 01:08:18 | Speaker 6:

you know what i love gift cards and i know people think it's lazy but i love gift cards

01:08:19 - 01:08:23 | Speaker 4:

Yes, I do too. So if I'm too crunched, that's what's going to happen with us.

01:08:24 - 01:08:30 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, give me a good old gift card any day. I get excited when I go to Target and they say, oh, you got a $5 gift card. What do you purchase?

01:08:31 - 01:08:33 | Speaker 2:

I strategically shop to get those. It's the best.

01:08:33 - 01:08:35 | Speaker 6:

I have no idea how they give it to me.

01:08:35 - 01:08:46 | Speaker 2:

Well, you have to buy two things of Tide Pods, you get a $5 gift card. Really? Yeah. I never do that. If you buy three up and up products, you get a $5 gift card. It depends.

01:08:46 - 01:08:55 | Speaker 1:

What I hate is all the Bath and Body Works and Kohl's gives you the cash to come back. It's like, well, I just bought everything I need. I don't want to come back to Kohl's in a week.

01:08:55 - 01:09:34 | Speaker 6:

I got yelled at at Target for giving my gift card to the lady behind me. They told me that that's frowned upon, I was told, to do it. But that's cool. So Mike's going out. So Mike and Allie are going out, and they're doing some holiday shopping. Look at all these people. Come visit the Target in Woodhaven. We'll be there. And then another person said, Ollie's on Telegraph. Another couple. Oh, Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, Mike. That's a good one that you can go to. Or on your way back, right? You can go to, what's the outlets there? Yeah. There's a Tanger. The Tanger. They're all called Tanger. But aren't they all called Tanger? But it's like what town is. Howell, isn't it? Howell. Yeah.

01:09:35 - 01:09:36 | Speaker 2:

Howell would be on your way home.

01:09:36 - 01:09:41 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. Toyology that Shannon's talked before about. That's a cool store.

01:09:41 - 01:09:42 | Speaker 2:

Shop local, like shop local.

01:09:43 - 01:09:55 | Speaker 6:

Meijer, you live in the headquarters of Meijer. If Mike's coming all this way and you go, if you and Allie come all this way and go to a Meijer out here to go do your holiday shopping.

01:09:55 - 01:09:59 | Speaker 2:

You want to know where I got a ton of stuff from, for real? Marshall's has a great toy selection.

01:10:00 - 01:10:14 | Speaker 4:

one specific Marshalls. I'm not going to say it on the air because it's my secret one. I will tell you. It always has the best stuff. Do you have a week to go? Yes, because it's like a sneak one that I feel like nobody goes to, and so they have all

01:10:14 - 01:10:20 | Speaker 5:

the good stuff. But what happens if nobody goes there and they close it down because you wouldn't tell anybody where the best Marshalls was?

01:10:20 - 01:10:21 | Speaker 4:

No, it's good for at least right now.

01:10:22 - 01:10:27 | Speaker 5:

So I got you. So Shannon has a Marshall, her own private Marshalls. This is amazing.

01:10:27 - 01:10:30 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. I never know

01:10:30 - 01:10:33 | Speaker 5:

that you could have your own private department store

01:10:33 - 01:10:37 | Speaker 4:

I just don't tell anybody about it my girlfriend Ashley and I we go to this one specific

01:10:37 - 01:10:41 | Speaker 5:

give me this how far from your house is it

01:10:41 - 01:10:44 | Speaker 4:

like 20 minutes

01:10:44 - 01:10:48 | Speaker 5:

I'm going to do a Google search from your house I'm finding out where the hell

01:10:48 - 01:10:49 | Speaker 4:

I'm going to tell them which one it is

01:10:49 - 01:10:57 | Speaker 5:

that's actually kind of funny I always love by the way when you have the thing that you'd always do like if you go into a store like I know

01:10:57 - 01:11:02 | Speaker 4:

where they keep the stuff that's in the aisle like you know how like you know how they'll always

01:11:02 - 01:11:40 | Speaker 5:

have like uh in at targets always have the game systems in the back of the store you know all that stuff there but i will actually talk every now and again to like some of our listeners that work at targets and say where are the display caps that they have like you know or find out where their door is that you know where they walk in and out because everybody's always looking for somebody that's working there nowadays because there's not a lot of people working so you always wait by that door and it costs the person that's walking out coming back from their break and say i'll give you five dollars if you go in the back and see if there's a new madden game you know see if you guys can uh can help me out with that what's up anita yes hi you have a

01:11:40 - 01:12:08 | Speaker 1:

suggestion from mike and allie for toys yes it is all toys and they have old school toys new new toys it's a little it's a family-owned place okay it's called whistle stop and it's in st clare shores whistle stop st clare shores all right it's a big store and but it's got great toys yeah okay toys are hard toys are hard to find now well toy stores in general are hard to find

01:12:08 - 01:12:26 | Speaker 5:

thanks anita sam oh hold on where's sam go say oh we lost sam sam said that they had their own Private Marshalls too I wonder if it's the same one that You go to It smells like a Coney Island restaurant in here right now Have you noticed that? Is that the waffles?

01:12:26 - 01:12:27 | Speaker 1:

It's a waffle

01:12:27 - 01:12:34 | Speaker 5:

Did you bring all the waffle stuff and everything? Oh that was nice What's on the menu today?

01:12:35 - 01:12:45 | Speaker 3:

Fruit and some chocolate Sorry I'm on the phone There's a bunch of fruit, there's strawberries, blueberries, vannas There's Nutella, there's syrup It's a make-your-own waffle bar, and then also Mimosa.

01:12:45 - 01:12:58 | Speaker 5:

Wow. Amazing. And I got to thank Spike, because Spike knows that I'm allergic to waffles. I have a gluten allergy. He made me gluten-free brownies. That's good. Because he cares. Because I care. Because he cares.

01:12:58 - 01:13:02 | Speaker 4:

But he brought the brownie tray, and there was, like, a big chunk missing. Okay?

01:13:02 - 01:13:11 | Speaker 2:

Well, because I don't need that gluten-free BS. So I was like, if this isn't good, I'm not bringing it in. So I had to test it last night. Did you grab one right out of there? I just cut the corner out.

01:13:11 - 01:13:22 | Speaker 5:

Well, thank you, Spike. Like, I appreciate that. Ellen and Shannon. I say Ellen because Ellen won't bring in gluten-free waffles for me. And Shannon won't tell me where the hell her marshals is.

01:13:23 - 01:13:24 | Speaker 3:

It's a gluten-free waffle mix right here.

01:13:25 - 01:13:25 | Speaker 5:

Oh, really? Oh!

01:13:27 - 01:13:30 | Speaker 3:

You tried to call me on stuff this morning. I thought of all of you.

01:13:31 - 01:13:34 | Speaker 5:

But did you bring a separate waffle maker for cross-contamination?

01:13:35 - 01:13:36 | Speaker 3:

Oh, don't quit.

01:13:38 - 01:14:31 | Speaker 5:

Mojo in the Morning Show, home of Phone Scams, The War of the Roses, The Dirty on the 30. I want to do just a quick topic because I want to see if this is something that other people do because Chelsea thought it was weird. I bought a gift card for the person that I see at least once a week, and I've seen them for the last year once a week. But I've been going to the same Speedway gas station to fill up my car's tank. And Speedway Ryan is a guy who is a huge listener of the show. And it seems like every time that I go in to fill up my gas tank, I also go and replenish waters so I can bring bottled waters here into the studio. And every time I do, we have a conversation for a good period of time. And I bought him a DoorDash gift card for Christmas because he says that he never goes out to eat and he's never DoorDashed before.

01:14:32 - 01:14:33 | Speaker 4:

That's seriously so nice of you.

01:14:33 - 01:14:59 | Speaker 5:

Well, you know what? He's a good guy. And he's honestly, he's been like, sometimes there are people in this world that you meet and you're like, wow, I feel like I've known this guy my whole life. And he's a hard worker and he's working in the middle of the night. And I'm going to tell you this, there are not many people working in the middle of the night these days. And so it's nice to see that, you know, they're open and stuff. So Chelsea said that she thought that that was interesting that I was doing this. So I wanted to see who's the most interesting person that you.

01:15:00 - 01:15:30 | Speaker 1:

buy a gift for, 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548, because we talk about tipping all the time, and this is the time of year where you've got to start thinking about that, but I want to know, do you buy a gift for your weed man, or do you buy a gift or do something for your hairstylist, right? You give them something, don't you? Cash is probably the big deal

01:15:30 - 01:15:38 | Speaker 3:

The big thing started a few years ago Where you leave out snacks and little gifts and stuff For the delivery guys and girls You know Amazon, UPS, FedEx

01:15:38 - 01:15:45 | Speaker 2:

I always bought a gift for my Starbucks barista Not just a tip but would buy a gift Because we became friends I'd see her every single morning

01:15:45 - 01:16:00 | Speaker 1:

How did you decide though for that Because I go to the Starbucks that you used to go to And there's like three people in there But there is one that I talk to all the time How do you decide Who you're going to give it to and not let the other people. Did you give all those people gifts too?

01:16:00 - 01:16:13 | Speaker 2:

No, I think we developed a friendship outside of Starbucks. She came to some of our parties. And then I went out with her and her husband. We would tie up boats together in Lake St. Clair. So it extended beyond the store.

01:16:14 - 01:16:29 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, because that was the thing. So Ryan usually works middle of the night, but he does have somebody that comes in right around the time that I'm going in. But I never really talked to her. So I kind of like sneak it to him. You have to kind of sneak it, yeah.

01:16:29 - 01:16:31 | Speaker 2:

You have to wait until there's a clearance.

01:16:31 - 01:16:32 | Speaker 1:

He was like, you want to buy this?

01:16:32 - 01:16:41 | Speaker 2:

He thought I was buying a gift card. Yeah. Same thing I do with all the office staff here. I have to give it to everybody when Reese isn't around because I'm not getting Reese's. Come on.

01:16:41 - 01:16:44 | Speaker 1:

Reese, what do you want for Christmas from everybody?

01:16:44 - 01:16:47 | Speaker 2:

I want Spike to give me a gift. I think that's all I want now.

01:16:47 - 01:16:50 | Speaker 1:

What would you like Spike to give you for a gift? Here's a scratch off for you.

01:16:50 - 01:16:55 | Speaker 2:

I like a. It's not a winner. I already scratched all the. I'm not really picky. I like edibles.

01:16:55 - 01:17:04 | Speaker 1:

I like booze. By the way, scratch that off, and if you win the big money, he's going to ask you back for it.

01:17:05 - 01:17:09 | Speaker 2:

Well, no, I already pre-scratched it for him. Yeah, I let him know whether or not it's a winner.

01:17:09 - 01:17:16 | Speaker 1:

Remember the year that we would all give Fletch the gift cards that had no money on them?

01:17:17 - 01:17:19 | Speaker 3:

Or they would have like $1.06.

01:17:20 - 01:17:22 | Speaker 1:

B, who is it that you buy a Christmas gift for?

01:17:23 - 01:17:26 | Speaker 4:

I actually just bought a Christmas gift for my mechanic.

01:17:27 - 01:17:33 | Speaker 1:

You know what? Your car is running, right? And that's a hard person to get an appointment with these days, right?

01:17:34 - 01:17:44 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, and you know what? My car broke down about a year ago, and he was one of the only mechanics I could find willing to do the work. Saved me a lot of money.

01:17:44 - 01:17:45 | Speaker 1:

That's awesome.

01:17:45 - 01:17:51 | Speaker 4:

And I've been seeing him ever since for all of my car needs, oil changes. So I got him a little Christmas gift.

01:17:51 - 01:17:59 | Speaker 1:

Good for you. That's awesome that you do that. Erin, hi. Hi, good morning. Good morning. Strangest person that you buy a gift for?

01:17:59 - 01:18:03 | Speaker 6:

My parents buy a gift for their dog walker every year.

01:18:04 - 01:18:08 | Speaker 1:

You know what? You got to give them at least a tip, right? They're coming to the house and doing that.

01:18:08 - 01:18:13 | Speaker 6:

They tip them, and then every year they buy her a gas card.

01:18:14 - 01:18:28 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. You know what's funny? I hear of people that will use dog walkers because they're at work all day. I wonder how the dog walking business got for people that started working at home. I probably started hurting their business. What's happening, Audrey?

01:18:29 - 01:18:42 | Speaker 7:

Hi. So I'm a housekeeper, and my clients are so generous all the time. But at this time of year, sometimes I tear up because I just can't believe how amazing they are to me.

01:18:42 - 01:18:47 | Speaker 1:

Do they usually give you like a large sum of cash? What do they give you?

01:18:47 - 01:18:59 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, this week so far, I'm only, well, this is the third day, but only two days in, really, and I got almost $500. Oh, my goodness. That's amazing. That's amazing. And gift cards and other candy.

01:19:00 - 01:19:08 | Speaker 1:

I bet you that you're good at what you do, and that's why they appreciate you so much. Amanda. Hello. Hey, who do you buy gifts for?

01:19:09 - 01:19:14 | Speaker 5:

I last year bought a gift for one of the crossing guards at my daughter's elementary school.

01:19:14 - 01:19:16 | Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah. That's a really nice one.

01:19:16 - 01:19:31 | Speaker 5:

Because we always brought the gifts for, you know, the office staff and the teachers. But this Pacific Crossing guard always, my daughter's really shy. And he always would make a point to just make her have a good day on the way in or compliment her shoes or her hair. She loved them.

01:19:31 - 01:19:40 | Speaker 1:

Listen, out of all the people that, you know, your kids are, you know, dealing with in school all the time, this person's keeping them from getting hit by a car, for God's sakes, right?

01:19:40 - 01:19:46 | Speaker 5:

Exactly. That's right. Yeah. So it was fun. We haven't seen him this year, though. so that's too bad.

01:19:46 - 01:19:48 | Speaker 1:

Oh, man. I wonder if he retired.

01:19:49 - 01:19:51 | Speaker 5:

Probably. COVID, probably.

01:19:51 - 01:19:59 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, hopefully he's not gone to the crossing guard in the sky. Sorry for bringing that up. Christina, hi.

01:20:00 - 01:20:14 | Speaker 2:

Christina we love you too give me a Vonda who do you buy for I buy for the chick that works at McDonald's who's the chick at McDonald's do you see her every

01:20:14 - 01:20:33 | Speaker 6:

day yeah so I do taxes for a living so the McDonald's right across the street so during tax season I'm there like three times a day but on the off season I'm there a couple times a week for breakfast and she's there every day she She is so sweet, the whole nine yards. Love it. So I bought her a gift card this year.

01:20:33 - 01:20:49 | Speaker 2:

Did you see this story about the woman who went to Dunkin' Donuts every single day and she found out that the lady who would give her her order every single day got evicted from her house, so she got in contact with her and bought her a house?

01:20:50 - 01:20:55 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. If I had the money, I'd probably do it for this, sweetheart. It was amazing. She destroys everybody's day.

01:20:55 - 01:21:20 | Speaker 2:

And that was the whole point with this lady was this was an elderly woman that did this. She said her day was better because this woman was so upbeat and happy to serve her her coffee. So that's pretty cool. I love that. Same thing. You know what I mean? Everybody says, if I had a bajillion dollars, here's what I would do. Could you imagine just making everybody else's life better? What's up, Brittany?

01:21:21 - 01:21:22 | Speaker 6:

Hi, Michael.

01:21:22 - 01:21:28 | Speaker 2:

By the way, hold on a second. Reese, if Spike got a billion dollars, he'd still give you the scratch off. I just want you to know that.

01:21:28 - 01:21:29 | Speaker 3:

I'd buy him Starbucks.

01:21:29 - 01:21:31 | Speaker 2:

Jill's got the person to tip. Who is that, Jill?

01:21:32 - 01:21:42 | Speaker 1:

I use a delivery service from the dispensary, and I tipped my guy like $45 a couple weeks ago, but it was actually an accident, but it made me feel really good because I thought, you know what?

01:21:42 - 01:21:45 | Speaker 3:

When you say it was an accident, were you high and you gave him the wrong money?

01:21:45 - 01:22:11 | Speaker 1:

No, normally I order where it is a certain total, and I gave him the normal tip, and then I was like, oh, wait. And it was an accident, but at first I was like, oh, my God, that's awful, because I needed that extra $25, but then I was like, you know what, maybe he was having a bad day, and it's the holidays, and hopefully it made his day. So it made me feel good, even though it was an accidental feel-good.

01:22:11 - 01:22:15 | Speaker 2:

I bet you that you get the best weed ever next time that you make your order.

01:22:15 - 01:22:30 | Speaker 1:

You know what? Even with half of the tip, which is what I normally tip, they said that they always make sure that they come out to me because I take care of them. So you've got to. I mean, I know they're already coming a little bit further for me, but, you know, I need that.

01:22:31 - 01:22:37 | Speaker 2:

Why do I giggle when you say half of the tip? Just the tip. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

01:22:37 - 01:22:52 | Speaker 3:

This text message, they always tip and give a gift to the checkout lady at Kroger on Orchard Lake because she's the best of all the people in Kroger. She never asks for my ID when I check out because apparently I must be a frequent flyer on weekends for all the alcohol.

01:22:54 - 01:22:58 | Speaker 4:

You're sweet and twisted like a candy cane. That's okay.

01:22:58 - 01:23:01 | Speaker 3:

Merry Christmas from Mojo in the morning.

01:23:01 - 01:23:06 | Speaker 4:

Well, we will scam you. Sorry.

01:23:06 - 01:23:44 | Speaker 3:

Oh, wait a second. I forgot I got to tell you all about this scam before we actually do it. Okay, so this is – we've been talking about how there's a shortage of Santas in the mall this year. It just seems like everybody is having problems finding those mall Santas. So what we're going to do is I'm going to apply as a job a Santa's helper. Renee works in the mall management office at one of our local malls, and her coworkers said that it's a pretty busy time of year for them, and she could use a laugh, and it sounds like she could also use a Santa Claus. It's a Mojo in the Morning phone scam.

01:23:45 - 01:23:55 | Speaker 4:

We will, we will scam you. Sorry, it's a catchy song. It's your home of phone scams. Mojo in the Morning.

01:23:57 - 01:24:00 | Speaker 5:

Good morning, this is Kevin speaking. How may I help you?

01:24:00 - 01:24:01 | Speaker 3:

Hey, is Renee there, please?

01:24:02 - 01:24:05 | Speaker 5:

Ooh, sorry, she's not available right now. Can I put you through to her voicemail?

01:24:06 - 01:24:07 | Speaker 3:

She's not around? I can't talk to her real quick?

01:24:08 - 01:24:12 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, she's in a meeting right now. I'm not supposed to disturb her. I can put you through her voicemail. She'll get back to it this afternoon.

01:24:13 - 01:24:14 | Speaker 3:

It is Kevin, is it?

01:24:14 - 01:24:15 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, it is.

01:24:15 - 01:24:20 | Speaker 3:

Kevin and Spike are with the Mojo on the morning show, but don't say that out loud, but I was asked to phone scam her.

01:24:20 - 01:24:25 | Speaker 5:

Oh, oh, okay. Can you put us through to her? Yeah, I can get her. Can you hold on just a sec?

01:24:25 - 01:24:34 | Speaker 2:

Hey, dude, dude, don't say anything to her, okay? Okay. Don't say who it is. Just put us through. It's a real important phone call. She has to grab it.

01:24:34 - 01:24:36 | Speaker 5:

No problem. I'll take care of it. All right, thanks.

01:24:37 - 01:25:07 | Speaker 3:

We'll be right back.

01:25:00 - 01:25:06 | Speaker 4:

job the mall santa job oh okay chris unfortunately we've already hired someone in for that position

01:25:06 - 01:25:23 | Speaker 3:

i know but you haven't met me yet let me tell you a little bit about myself i'm a happy guy i love people i'm a little on the portly side and i have a real white beard so it kind of makes me a shoe in and check this out i've been working on my ho ho ho's ho ho ho well chris i really appreciate

01:25:23 - 01:25:28 | Speaker 4:

your enthusiasm but once again we already hired someone for the position but you know maybe next

01:25:28 - 01:25:35 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, but are they good? I mean, can they get through 1,600 kids in one shift? And I got my own Santa suit, too, so.

01:25:36 - 01:25:46 | Speaker 4:

I understand, but we hired someone that we thought would be competent, of course, so we think that they're good. That's why we hired them, but once again, I'm so glad that you're enthused about it, but the position's no longer available, okay?

01:25:47 - 01:26:05 | Speaker 3:

Well, to be honest with you, I kind of need to do this to work off some of my community service hours. That leaves me a little scared. What do you mean, community service? No, nothing. I mean, I'm just on probation. I just got fired from my last Santa job. I had a situation, but it's good. You know, you learn from your past. I'm ready to move on.

01:26:06 - 01:26:08 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Well, unfortunately, you won't be able to move on here.

01:26:08 - 01:26:19 | Speaker 3:

All right, I'll tell you what it is. What happened was one kid said to me, my daddy says you're not really Santa, so, you know, I don't need that s**t. So I said, hey, he's not really your daddy, s**t, and this year you ain't getting squat.

01:26:20 - 01:26:23 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Okay, the position is no longer available.

01:26:24 - 01:26:38 | Speaker 3:

But your boss, Julie, gave me your name because she said, I met her in the mall, and once she heard my resume, she realized I'd be perfect for it. I mean, it's not anyone that can just work in a warm mall under hot lights, dressed in a heavy coat, hat, and beard with fat kids sitting on you and smothering you to death.

01:26:38 - 01:26:46 | Speaker 4:

Okay, I understand, and I love yourself pitching everything up, but once again, the position's no longer available. How about the Easter Bunny? No, well...

01:26:46 - 01:26:48 | Speaker 3:

I know you didn't hire the Easter Bunny yet.

01:26:48 - 01:26:50 | Speaker 4:

What in the world does that have to do with, what does that have to do with the holidays?

01:26:50 - 01:26:54 | Speaker 3:

Well, I'm just saying I'll get a jump start on spring if you already have a Christmas.

01:26:55 - 01:26:57 | Speaker 4:

No, I don't think so.

01:26:57 - 01:27:11 | Speaker 3:

I just need a break where I can hang out, where there's good smoke breaks. A smoke break around children? Are you kidding me? Well, I mean, I wouldn't smoke near the kids. That got me in trouble last time. I was blowing smoke rings out of my tracheotomy hole and just scaring the kids.

01:27:11 - 01:27:22 | Speaker 4:

That's inappropriate behavior. Maybe that's why you were dismissed the last time. And you could possibly go back to that old job if you hadn't done the things that you had done there. We certainly don't want you to do them here at our facility.

01:27:22 - 01:27:22 | Speaker 3:

Renee.

01:27:23 - 01:27:24 | Speaker 4:

Okay? Yes.

01:27:24 - 01:27:25 | Speaker 3:

What, are you Jewish or something?

01:27:27 - 01:27:35 | Speaker 4:

Okay. You don't like Christmas, is that it? Okay. You're wasting my time. You're wasting your time. And this is just not going to work for either one of us. Bye-bye.

01:27:38 - 01:27:44 | Speaker 2:

Renee? Should we dial her back? Absolutely we should.

01:27:50 - 01:27:57 | Speaker 3:

this is renee how can i help you hey i forgot to ask you when i show up monday

01:27:57 - 01:28:01 | Speaker 4:

01:28:01 - 01:28:18 | Speaker 3:

01:28:20 - 01:28:24 | Speaker 3:

Well, I just want to tell you this is Spike from the Mojo on the Morning Show. You've just been phone-scanned.

01:28:24 - 01:28:25 | Speaker 4:

What do you mean I've been phone-scanned?

01:28:26 - 01:28:29 | Speaker 3:

You're on the radio right now? You've just been phone-scanned.

01:28:29 - 01:28:30 | Speaker 1:

Oh, okay. Happy holidays.

01:28:34 - 01:28:48 | Speaker 5:

We will, we will scam you. You've just been scammed. Sorry about that. We're expected in hell. your home of the world famous phone scams mojo in the morning

01:28:48 - 01:29:00 | Speaker 1:

make some noise for mojo Mike Shannon for mojo in the morning

01:29:14 - 01:29:44 | Speaker 2:

oh i want to bring this up so i went to the mall and yes i valeted when i went to the mall i know people get you fancy people get crazy whenever you tell them that you use the mall valet they're Like, you can't go get your own parking spot.

01:29:45 - 01:29:47 | Speaker 4:

Wait, your mall has a valet.

01:29:47 - 01:29:48 | Speaker 2:

Yes.

01:29:48 - 01:29:49 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

01:29:49 - 01:29:51 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Why? They don't have the valet?

01:29:52 - 01:29:53 | Speaker 1:

Shockingly enough, no.

01:29:53 - 01:29:58 | Speaker 2:

They do, but it's called a bus stop. They got the valet at your mall.

01:29:58 - 01:29:59 | Speaker 3:

I went to the mall yesterday. They don't have valet at my mall. 12 Oaks has.

01:30:00 - 01:31:30 | Speaker 1:

a valet oh they don't yes where oh over outside the new fancy side no that's the cheesecake factory where the cheesecake factory is so i valeted at the mall just to do a quick in and out i had to return something and then i needed to go get uh get luke something and so i said you know i couldn't find a parking spot the malls are actually very crowded i don't know if you've been to the mall lately but so when i came out after the valet was done or after i was done i'm sorry i go towards the valet and it was mass chaos there were tons of people there that are waiting for their cars and they're getting very irate with each other so one of the valet guys kind of comes over towards me and uh and he looks because he saw that i had my ticket in my hand and um and i said wow this is crazy he goes yeah yeah yeah we're gonna get you know we're you know working hard and i go hey hold on a second i reach into my pocket i grab a ten dollar bill and i hand it to him and i said hey, thanks so much for getting in my car. And he goes, it will be right up. He looked at me, grabbed the money. Oh, so you were in. Look, it will be right up. He then went on break. I saw him walking away with my $10. He probably thought to himself, good, now I can go to the food court and go get myself some lunch. And I waited then for more than 30 minutes for my Tahoe to get pulled up.

01:31:30 - 01:31:31 | Speaker 2:

So then you get a tip again, right?

01:31:31 - 01:31:36 | Speaker 1:

Well, that's the thing. I never paid the actual valet because I gave that guy the $10.

01:31:36 - 01:31:37 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh.

01:31:37 - 01:31:56 | Speaker 1:

And I was intending on probably paying a little bit more. I was intending, okay, maybe I'll give another $5 or whatever it is when they pulled the car up. because I figured to not have to sit there and wait through the craziness that was going on. So I'm waiting for 30 minutes. I see him coming back with some food.

01:31:56 - 01:31:59 | Speaker 2:

From break. He was done with his break by that time.

01:31:59 - 01:32:42 | Speaker 1:

He broke and came back from his break at the time that my car was being pulled up. And I sat there and I thought to myself with my toe tapping. You ever do that? That's your thinking thing with your toe tapping. I'm thinking, could I ask him for my tip back? I know. It did not accomplish what I thought it was going to accomplish. And I thought to myself, I'm like going, you know what? That just serves me right. Serves me right for trying to sneak ahead of all these other poor people that are trying to get themselves their cars from the valet. While I'm trying to sneak ahead thinking that my $10 was going to make me more important than everybody else that was here.

01:32:42 - 01:32:47 | Speaker 2:

I mean at that rate You could have parked Across the street And just walked And die in your car faster

01:32:47 - 01:32:51 | Speaker 1:

I know what you're saying You valet Don't you sometimes When you go to the mall You do

01:32:51 - 01:32:54 | Speaker 2:

I never have actually But Andrew always used to

01:32:54 - 01:32:55 | Speaker 1:

Oh you're so full of it

01:32:55 - 01:32:57 | Speaker 2:

No I never have You never in your life

01:32:57 - 01:32:58 | Speaker 1:

I swear to God On a stack of valets

01:32:58 - 01:33:04 | Speaker 2:

I forgot mine even had a valet I never have But Andrew has And so we always used to When we were married We would valet a lot

01:33:04 - 01:33:05 | Speaker 1:

Okay

01:33:05 - 01:33:05 | Speaker 2:

Yeah

01:33:05 - 01:33:11 | Speaker 1:

Tell Mark My computer's not working Okay will you ask him To come in and fix it

01:33:11 - 01:33:18 | Speaker 2:

I like parking far a lot of times and walking. I'm that weird person. The engineering version of Valet.

01:33:19 - 01:33:22 | Speaker 1:

That's the engineering. Oh, you're talking about it. Tell Mark I got a $10. He's got a $10.

01:33:24 - 01:33:25 | Speaker 2:

Come on.

01:33:26 - 01:33:37 | Speaker 1:

I'm the guy. Listen, I am the guy that will not park to the end of it. Even if the parking spot at the very, very end is open, wide open, I will circle the lot.

01:33:37 - 01:33:37 | Speaker 2:

You're my mom.

01:33:37 - 01:33:43 | Speaker 1:

10 to 15 times to find one of the top five parking spots that are inside of the store.

01:33:43 - 01:34:01 | Speaker 2:

And she will only do it in a certain row outside of the Macy's at Southland Mall. She is such a creature of habit, she will not park in front of any other store or in any other area. She has her spot and she will circle that Macy's parking lot until something opens up.

01:34:01 - 01:34:35 | Speaker 1:

And you know the thing that's driven me crazy with this whole thing about curbside pickups? They've taken all the good parking spots so all that stuff like it's it's all uh you know curbside pickups for every everywhere target how target took like 10 times the amount of good parking spots now so that they could you know you could do the drive-up which i've done the drive-up thing and i love it but you don't have to take all my good parking spots matter of fact they should put it further in the back and make the employees walk out. What?

01:34:36 - 01:34:39 | Speaker 2:

Look how fired up he is. I'm very fired up. You want $10?

01:34:40 - 01:35:00 | Speaker 1:

I want... Make your day better. Listen, I'm going to tell you something that I am one of those people that I don't know, I get fired up and want to know exactly what the heck is going on. Mark, our engineer, just walked in to fix our computer. Mark, do you ever...

01:35:00 - 01:35:27 | Speaker 3:

valet never you never valet no that big old pickup truck of yours you don't ever valet that thing never once what's the story why is that i'm old school i guess really you like parking yourself isn't that kind of boring to park yourself i drive a car with a stick you drive a car with a stick nobody drives a car with a stick what do they call those manual cars yeah manual transmission all right it's a beautiful thing nobody valets at the mall i think is what

01:35:27 - 01:35:33 | Speaker 2:

Everybody carries cash to tip the valley at the vault. That's a big thing. I never have cash on me.

01:35:33 - 01:35:37 | Speaker 3:

Is Valane, like, really a bougie thing to do? Come on.

01:35:38 - 01:35:42 | Speaker 1:

They have literally 12,000 parking spaces surrounding that place.

01:35:43 - 01:35:45 | Speaker 3:

But still, though, it's the convenience.

01:35:45 - 01:35:47 | Speaker 2:

Were you at 12 Oaks or were you at Somerset?

01:35:47 - 01:35:49 | Speaker 3:

I was at Somerset at this one. Okay.

01:35:50 - 01:35:51 | Speaker 2:

This is what I've learned there, though.

01:35:52 - 01:35:54 | Speaker 3:

Somerset is our very nice mall. It's a very, very fancy mall.

01:35:54 - 01:36:06 | Speaker 2:

They will move your car to the other side. There are two sides to the mall that goes over a busy street. So if I park at one side, they'll move the car to the other side? You can call them and say, can I get my car? And they'll bring it to the other side.

01:36:07 - 01:36:43 | Speaker 3:

Wow. Will it take less than 30 minutes? I could have gone. That's what I should have done. I should have went over to the other side because it was probably less crowded over on the other side. And they would have brought my car to me. I didn't realize that there wasn't a valet spot at most malls. I thought most malls had valet spots because our 12 Oaks down the street from us here, which is the kind of middle. Actually, it's a nice mall. I wouldn't say it's middle of the road, but it's maybe one step below the fanciness of the summer set. But yeah, they've got valet there.

01:36:44 - 01:37:07 | Speaker 2:

You know what I love, though? I do have a girlfriend, my friend Deanna. You guys all know Deanna. She used to work for the show. And if there is a valet anywhere, if we're at a road, anywhere we go, she will valet. even to the i went out to dinner with her one time she valeted our car and there was literally a parking space 20 feet away it would take less time for us to park right there and just walk

01:37:07 - 01:37:18 | Speaker 1:

into the front door so i won't do it i can't i can't stand waiting if i have to stand there and wait for my car when i can see it it's like forget it yeah my chelsea actually gives me crap

01:37:18 - 01:37:48 | Speaker 3:

all the time because i get angry when i walk out of like certain restaurants and my cars you know I valet my car and I see all those fancy cars that sometimes they'll park right up towards the front, like on the curb and stuff. Like, they'll be really, really nice cars, you know, like, I don't know, Mercedes and, you know, BMWs and stuff. And I got to wait there for my Tahoe. I'm like, oh, now you sit there. I'm not fancy enough for these guys. We got tired of being single and broke, so we turned things around.

01:37:48 - 01:37:52 | Speaker 1:

Now we're broke and single. This is Mojo in the Morning.

01:37:53 - 01:38:08 | Speaker 3:

now this is a festive thing to do for the holidays it's a mojo in the morning show 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 so what is it that you and your friends do well i was so excited

01:38:08 - 01:38:35 | Speaker 2:

yesterday because i got one in the mail when i was in college my girlfriends and i started a tradition i think it was our sophomore year um i went to butler university in indianapolis by the wait go bulldogs i have to say that um but we were broke obviously being college students but we still wanted to buy gifts for one another so we came up with the idea of doing an underwear exchange so each of the each girl in our group of like five close friends now you're talking

01:38:35 - 01:38:41 | Speaker 3:

bought a pair of like i was never ever on a college campus that had sororities doesn't this

01:38:41 - 01:39:11 | Speaker 2:

sound cool well so you buy you buy a pair of underwear for each other girl in the group so that when it was all said and done, we walked away from our little gift exchange with a few cute pairs of brand new underwear. And everybody has different tastes, so it was kind of cool to get a thong and boy shorts and whatever. It was cheap. We all loved it. Well, fast forward, I don't even want to say how many years, but fast forward a certain number of years, we're all still doing it. And so yesterday I got my first pair from my friend Ash, who now lives in New York City.

01:39:11 - 01:39:15 | Speaker 3:

How do you buy underwear for somebody that you don't know their size?

01:39:15 - 01:39:21 | Speaker 2:

We all know our sizes. Oh, really? I mean, over the years, our sizes have changed, but yeah, I mean, what?

01:39:21 - 01:39:27 | Speaker 3:

You probably find it out during the pillow fights, right? So you guys, wait, so when you say-

01:39:27 - 01:39:28 | Speaker 2:

My butt's slightly larger than it was-

01:39:28 - 01:39:33 | Speaker 3:

When you say underwear exchange, do you guys pick out of a hat every year the person's name? No, so- You buy for everybody?

01:39:33 - 01:39:39 | Speaker 2:

So there's five of us in the group, and you, like, I buy for the four other girls. They buy for the four other girls. You see what I mean?

01:39:39 - 01:39:44 | Speaker 3:

Does everybody get the same underwear, or do you buy specific for each person?

01:39:44 - 01:39:49 | Speaker 2:

I buy the same, just different sizes. But I don't know how the other girls do it.

01:39:50 - 01:39:55 | Speaker 1:

So you're walking out of the party with five or six pair of different underwear that you probably wouldn't have bought yourself.

01:39:55 - 01:40:00 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, but I've said this to people before, and they're like, that's so weird that your girlfriend buys you thugs.

01:40:00 - 01:40:04 | Speaker 3:

I'm like, is it? I don't know. I thought it was such a good gift exchange idea.

01:40:04 - 01:40:24 | Speaker 1:

You guys have fun little girlfriend stuff going on here. I don't know if I would ever, you know, guys would never do this. Like if I asked my guy friends, hey, let's do an underwear exchange. Will you go buy me underwear? My buddy would go. Calm down. Let's do it. He would go to Meijer and get me like a pack of Hanes. Look, three pack of the white chonies.

01:40:24 - 01:40:33 | Speaker 4:

But I've done it with beer. We've done everybody bring a six pack and we all swap six packs. or something like that. I haven't done it with underwear, but similarly.

01:40:33 - 01:40:38 | Speaker 3:

I do love, too, that I'm still doing it with these girls from college, you know, so many years later.

01:40:39 - 01:40:52 | Speaker 1:

What happens, though, this is my question, because everybody gains weight, and everybody gained weight with COVID. What happens, since you haven't seen these people in a while, that you buy them the size that you thought that they were, and they can't fit into their now COVID underwear that they have to wear?

01:40:52 - 01:40:53 | Speaker 3:

Wow, I don't know.

01:40:53 - 01:40:56 | Speaker 1:

Do you give them the gift exchange in there?

01:40:56 - 01:40:59 | Speaker 3:

I don't put a gift or seed in there. Maybe I should this year.

01:41:00 - 01:41:15 | Speaker 1:

Because I don't fit in my same underwear that I had at the beginning of COVID. Mike, did you go to any college at all? Because I did a couple years at Columbia College, which was like a broadcasting school. Where did you go to school?

01:41:16 - 01:41:22 | Speaker 2:

I did a couple years at GRCC, a couple years at MCC, and then I was transferring to Grand Valley before I graduated.

01:41:22 - 01:41:33 | Speaker 1:

Did you ever get a chance to involve yourself with any of the fraternity, sorority stuff? Because I always feel like that's the one thing I missed out on. The fraternity sorority type stuff This sounds like the sorority girl type stuff

01:41:33 - 01:41:47 | Speaker 2:

Yeah see I didn't do that either I wish I did I was driving my uncle's car Who was in a fraternity So I always had that sticker on my car So everybody thought I was in a fraternity But I never actually was in one

01:41:47 - 01:41:53 | Speaker 1:

So they'd give you like the fraternity Sign or salute or something like that And you wouldn't know what to do

01:41:53 - 01:41:57 | Speaker 2:

I could show up to the party And then they were like I don't think you're supposed to be in here

01:41:57 - 01:42:01 | Speaker 1:

That's wild that years later that you guys keep on this tradition. It's amazing.

01:42:01 - 01:42:02 | Speaker 2:

I mean, it's been 20 years, really.

01:42:02 - 01:42:07 | Speaker 1:

Gosh, that's wild. So you've gotten 20 pairs of underwear over the years because of this?

01:42:07 - 01:42:10 | Speaker 3:

I multiply it by four because there's five of us. I get four new pairs every year.

01:42:10 - 01:42:13 | Speaker 1:

You get four new pairs every year. Yeah, from this group.

01:42:13 - 01:42:13 | Speaker 3:

It's seriously the best.

01:42:13 - 01:42:16 | Speaker 1:

This is like a club. You ever see those things where you join a club? There is a club.

01:42:16 - 01:42:17 | Speaker 3:

There are underwear.

01:42:17 - 01:42:18 | Speaker 1:

There's an underwear club?

01:42:18 - 01:42:22 | Speaker 3:

Yes. Yeah, for girls. Yeah. I mean, I'm sure guys have it, too.

01:42:22 - 01:42:36 | Speaker 1:

We need to do this. Why don't the guys on the show all do this with each other? You guys should do it this year. We'll do it. Reese and Spike and Mike and, you know, I think we covered all the guys. Do you guys want to do this? I don't know.

01:42:36 - 01:42:40 | Speaker 4:

I've heard the kind of underwear you guys wear. I don't really know. Mojo wears nice underwear.

01:42:40 - 01:42:46 | Speaker 1:

What do you wear, Reese? What do you got? I just wear normal, casual boxers. Where do you get them from? Nothing super exciting. Where do you get them? What's the brand?

01:42:46 - 01:42:52 | Speaker 2:

I'll get them anywhere, really. I normally Fruit of the Loom. Boxers or Boxer Briefs? What are we talking about? Boxer Briefs.

01:42:52 - 01:42:57 | Speaker 1:

Boxer Briefs. What about you, Mike? What are you wearing? Boxer Briefs. And what kind of a brand?

01:42:58 - 01:43:11 | Speaker 4:

Oh, that's a good question. He's looking. I'm nervous about this because, remember, Mike was wearing the same ratty underwear with the waistband. So he needs new underwear. This is perfect. So I'm saying, like, I don't know when the last time you actually bought underwear was.

01:43:11 - 01:43:14 | Speaker 1:

Spike, you wear a nice – don't you wear the underwears that grab your ball sack?

01:43:14 - 01:43:41 | Speaker 4:

I have a plethora of underwear. Yeah, I have the sack underwear, which are – it's like your balls are resting on a cloud. Oh, that's the ball hammock one. Yeah, your balls are in a hammock. It's beautiful. But then I get boxer briefs from The Gap. I get, I have way too, I have like a serious underwear addiction problem. I have over a hundred pair in my drawer. What? Wow. You have so many. So like if you guys give me through the loom, they're not going to. I'm putting them right in a donation pile. Wait a second.

01:43:42 - 01:43:43 | Speaker 3:

Oh, he's too good.

01:43:43 - 01:43:55 | Speaker 4:

I'm an underwear snob. It's not bougie enough. I'm an underwear snob. Listen. There's certain things you want to spoil in your life, and my wiener's one of those things. It deserves only the best. It's been through a lot. Only the finest.

01:43:55 - 01:44:16 | Speaker 1:

yes texter 586 says shannon this is brilliant i know and it could be as cheap as you want to make it 734 says shannon that is such a cute idea i would move down that is such a cute idea i've uh if i had if i had more girlfriends i would totally do this well you could even just do it with one

01:44:16 - 01:44:21 | Speaker 3:

girlfriend and they still get a you know a new pair of underwear well why don't we tell them

01:44:21 - 01:44:24 | Speaker 1:

that they can join us in our guys' exchange.

01:44:24 - 01:44:29 | Speaker 4:

But if I'm exchanging with you guys, they're expensive. I'm not getting you guys Tommy John. You're getting, like, old Navy.

01:44:30 - 01:44:31 | Speaker 3:

How much are a pair of Tommy John? Wait.

01:44:31 - 01:44:32 | Speaker 4:

Wait a second. Hold on.

01:44:32 - 01:44:32 | Speaker 1:

Oh, man.

01:44:32 - 01:44:34 | Speaker 3:

He's cheap enough. He only wants the fancy ones.

01:44:34 - 01:44:46 | Speaker 1:

He'll be fancy for yours, but not for ours? Yeah, of course. Come on. That's not fair. Reese, how bad do you feel about that, that he's going to be fancy for his, you know,

01:44:46 - 01:44:49 | Speaker 4:

some of those Tommy Johns are, like, $45 a pair.

01:44:49 - 01:44:53 | Speaker 3:

No, they start at $18, the Tommy Tons, too.

01:44:53 - 01:44:57 | Speaker 4:

What does it matter, too, Spike? I got nothing wrong with them.

01:44:58 - 01:44:59 | Speaker 2:

They last me a long time.

01:45:00 - 01:45:01 | Speaker 3:

of the Looms and Hanes are just fine.

01:45:01 - 01:45:07 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's what I'm saying, but if I'm going to dish out $50 for a pair and you're going to get me the three-pack for $10...

01:45:07 - 01:45:33 | Speaker 3:

Just like Shannon's friends did, I'm getting you a thong. Better to love and lose or stay with a cheater the rest of your life? Another world-famous War of the Roses happens at 9.05 on Mojo in the Morning. Christmas. Christmas. I mean, come on. Tell me that that's not a great Christmas song. I love that Christmas song.

01:45:34 - 01:45:36 | Speaker 4:

Does anyone know any other Johnny Mathis besides?

01:45:37 - 01:45:37 | Speaker 3:

No.

01:45:37 - 01:45:44 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my dad's the Murphy family. Yeah. That's like all they listen to. There's a chance is ours. My granny was a huge Johnny Mathis fan. Yeah.

01:45:44 - 01:46:20 | Speaker 3:

It's funny how all these old people that did songs like Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams uh Johnny Mathis they're cool to millennials and uh teenagers at this time of the year because their parents have played those Christmas songs yeah for the longest time but uh yeah that's a good song it's funny because I'll go through and I'll listen to some of the Christmas music and I don't and I talk about this all the time but it's only the classic ones that I like and I still can't believe that there hasn't been a breakthrough Christmas song since all I want for

01:46:20 - 01:46:27 | Speaker 1:

Christmas yeah I will say I like Taylor Swift's Christmas songs the last I like Last Christmas and I like Christmas tree farm but no there's a couple but they're

01:46:27 - 01:46:38 | Speaker 4:

not classics they're not Jingle Bell Rock they're not you know oh my gosh like you said anything with Nat King Cole Bing Crosby maybe you haven't seen the

01:46:38 - 01:46:46 | Speaker 3:

iTunes charts in the Elf on the Shelf I thought giving you one play

01:46:46 - 01:46:56 | Speaker 1:

I would add NSYNC's Merry Christmas I would start to add those to the list Ariana Grande I would start adding those to the list

01:46:56 - 01:47:24 | Speaker 3:

But you have to understand something though That NSYNC Christmas is one of those classic songs But that song came out Before even Yeah that came out before Mariah Carey So I went for Christmas All right, so here are some Christmas songs from newer artists. All right, so we'll play a few of them. This one is Ariana Grande. All right, so here's a Christmas song from her. And it's a very nice song.

01:47:24 - 01:47:25 | Speaker 2:

I love this one.

01:47:26 - 01:47:27 | Speaker 3:

She's got a good voice.

01:47:37 - 01:47:54 | Speaker 2:

If he really cares Cause I can't give it all away If he won't take it And I see you Like Christmas all around And I'm trying to play Great, great Alright, I think we already heard the hook of that one

01:47:54 - 01:48:00 | Speaker 3:

Here's that Ed, Sharon, and Elton John song

01:48:00 - 01:48:02 | Speaker 1:

It reminds me of love, actually

01:48:02 - 01:48:07 | Speaker 4:

It had potential, but Ed's part's good

01:48:07 - 01:48:36 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's okay.

01:48:37 - 01:48:43 | Speaker 4:

It's growing on me. Elton's part's lame. But Elton's old song, Step Into Christmas, is good.

01:48:43 - 01:48:48 | Speaker 3:

That was a good song, yeah. Who was the other artist that had one this year? Kelly Clarkson.

01:48:48 - 01:48:50 | Speaker 1:

Kelly Clarkson. Underneath the Tree is a good one.

01:48:51 - 01:48:54 | Speaker 3:

Kelly Clarkson, Underneath the Tree. All right, hold on. Let me get that one for you. Who else?

01:48:59 - 01:49:14 | Speaker 4:

I was talking to my daughter who did all the percussion at the Christmas concert at school this year. and I said, you know, she had the key part of Sleigh Bells where you add Sleigh Bells to any song and it makes it a good Christmas song. You could add Sleigh Bells to Lil Nas X and make it a Christmas song.

01:49:14 - 01:49:15 | Speaker 1:

This is a great one, right?

01:49:15 - 01:49:25 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, this is good. What's this called? Underneath the Christmas Tree.

01:49:35 - 01:49:40 | Speaker 2:

I'm gonna hold you close

01:49:40 - 01:49:52 | Speaker 3:

Alright, okay. Dan and Shay, I guess, have a new song that's out this year that supposedly is a Christmas song. Yeah. Called Officially Christmas.

01:49:56 - 01:50:01 | Speaker 2:

Everybody's starting to feel it Starting to feel it

01:50:00 - 01:50:14 | Speaker 1:

It takes too long.

01:50:15 - 01:50:18 | Speaker 3:

No, it takes too long. It's officially Christmas.

01:50:19 - 01:50:24 | Speaker 5:

Sounds like a Target ad. Yeah, it does. It's so good. Or a Minions movie soundtrack.

01:50:25 - 01:50:33 | Speaker 3:

This is what you're competing against. This is, to me, the best Christmas song that has ever been made. My favorite of all time.

01:50:36 - 01:50:41 | Speaker 4:

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire. I mean, come on. Let's hear it. Come on.

01:50:42 - 01:50:46 | Speaker 3:

Jack Frost nipping at my toes.

01:50:46 - 01:50:47 | Speaker 4:

Your nose.

01:50:47 - 01:50:50 | Speaker 3:

Nose. I like when my toes get nipped at.

01:50:51 - 01:50:59 | Speaker 4:

All right. Being sung by a choir. And folks dressed like the Eskimos.

01:51:00 - 01:51:03 | Speaker 3:

I sing it better when I'm in, when you know 20% of the words.

01:51:04 - 01:51:27 | Speaker 4:

A turkey and some mistletoe. Help to make the season's eyes. This is classic. This is so good. Yes. Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow Oh, we'll find it hard to sleep tonight.

01:51:29 - 01:51:39 | Speaker 3:

I didn't know Justin Bieber had a Christmas song. Is this Little Bieber or is this Big Bieber? Let's hear the voice.

01:51:43 - 01:51:47 | Speaker 1:

Rocking around the Christmas tree at the Christmas party.

01:51:47 - 01:51:48 | Speaker 3:

Oh, it's like a Little Bieber, isn't it?

01:51:49 - 01:51:54 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. 2020. Is it? Yeah. It's a little beeper still.

01:51:55 - 01:52:02 | Speaker 3:

Now he's got the big voice. It's only a year ago. You said 2020? 2020. Oh, I think it's... Oh. Is it really a million years?

01:52:02 - 01:52:07 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. We'll have some pumpkin pie and we'll do some caroling.

01:52:07 - 01:52:08 | Speaker 3:

Oh, oh, oh.

01:52:08 - 01:52:13 | Speaker 1:

You will get a sentimental... Do you guys like Josh Groban Christmas songs?

01:52:14 - 01:52:19 | Speaker 3:

No. That's okay. Okay. I don't like Josh Groban. Thank you. Well, then you're really not going to lie.

01:52:19 - 01:52:25 | Speaker 5:

Like, Katy Perry did another one this year. Oh, come on. Katy Perry did not. Don't even play it. She does one every two or three years.

01:52:25 - 01:52:34 | Speaker 3:

I like, like, here's the deal. I do like that. What's that song? That Ave Maria song or whatever. Is that Josh Groban? Or who is that that does that? He's probably done it.

01:52:34 - 01:52:38 | Speaker 2:

Well, he does one. Or Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He did one. He did Ave Maria. That's not a Christmas song.

01:52:38 - 01:52:50 | Speaker 3:

Is it Ave Maria or Hallelujah? One of those ones. Like, one of those songs come on if it's Christmas and Fireplace is on and, you know, we're all hanging out as a family. Like, I'm cool with that. What about Dominic the Donkey? Dominic the Donkey.

01:52:50 - 01:52:51 | Speaker 5:

One of the most hated songs.

01:52:51 - 01:52:52 | Speaker 3:

That would be the horrible.

01:52:52 - 01:52:55 | Speaker 5:

You can't not smile when Dominic the Donkey comes on.

01:52:55 - 01:52:59 | Speaker 3:

Dominic the Donkey, and then what's the Hawaiian song that everybody wants to do?

01:53:00 - 01:53:03 | Speaker 4:

What are you talking about? A Christmas song? No. Oh, Meli Kaliki.

01:53:03 - 01:53:04 | Speaker 3:

Naka is a...

01:53:04 - 01:53:06 | Speaker 4:

I mean, it's Christmas vacation.

01:53:08 - 01:53:24 | Speaker 5:

All right, you guys. We've got some great prizes going on all week, including Mojo's Mistledoe. This is your chance to win $10,000 just in time for the holidays thanks to Ideal U. We're qualifying people five times a day with $100. Your chance is right now. Be Caller 95, we'll hook you up with $100.

01:53:26 - 01:53:28 | Speaker 2:

Your call may be monitored or recorded.

01:53:30 - 01:53:56 | Speaker 5:

All right, we got a winner for Mojo's Mistledoe. I can't believe how many times we're doing this all the way leading up to next Friday where we're going to give away $10,000. But for this hour, Caller 95, our winner is Chuck from Macomb. Hey, Chuck. Hey. Congratulations. Well, thank you very much. What are you going to do with your – we're going to hand you some cash. What are you going to do with it?

01:53:57 - 01:54:06 | Speaker 2:

You know, a lot of Christmas shopping to do. I haven't started, and I was telling the girl that answered that.

01:54:06 - 01:54:06 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, Lydia.

01:54:07 - 01:54:17 | Speaker 2:

Lydia, that my wife kind of gives me subtle hints, and I've got like after about three pages of subtle hints, So I figured, you know, I better start buying some stuff.

01:54:18 - 01:54:37 | Speaker 5:

Well, I'll say this as a man as well, that what we think are subtle hints, they're not subtle. The women are very good at giving us hints. We're just very dense at accepting the hints. So they need to say it to us eight times for it to sink in our head. But you're a very smart man. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that hasn't started their Christmas shopping yet. But we're going to hook you up with cash. So hang on the line, okay?

01:54:38 - 01:54:40 | Speaker 2:

Okay, fantastic. Thanks, Mojo.

01:54:40 - 01:54:57 | Speaker 5:

All right, Lydia's going to get your information. Mojo's actually out sick today. And Shannon's out sick. and KP's out sick and can you tell we had a jingle ball and everybody gave each other germs kissing and hugging backstage but I'm here and we got another chance to get Taylor Swift tickets in less than an hour so you better be here too.

01:55:00 - 01:55:34 | Speaker 1:

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la, tis the season to be jolly. Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la. Done, we now are gay apparel. I never understood what that line was. Done, we are now gay apparel. But, hey, it's the holiday season, and it's supposed to be a jolly season. It's supposed to be happiness. It's supposed to be joy. So why does everybody ask Chelsea what I'm getting her for Christmas, and she has to bring up the one year that I gave her a gift that she was not happy with?

01:55:34 - 01:55:44 | Speaker 2:

Which year are we talking about? Well, come on. Isn't that funny? You give someone a gift they love, they remember it all year. If you give something they hated, they'll remember it their lifetime.

01:55:44 - 01:55:50 | Speaker 1:

Yes. But it was last year. That's the problem. The problem was last year. It wasn't a lifetime.

01:55:50 - 01:55:57 | Speaker 2:

So you haven't reached that, what are they called, the statute of limitations. Yeah, you can still suffer.

01:55:57 - 01:55:57 | Speaker 1:

Charles?

01:55:58 - 01:55:58 | Speaker 4:

Yes.

01:55:58 - 01:55:59 | Speaker 1:

Hi, how are you?

01:56:00 - 01:56:01 | Speaker 4:

Good, how are you?

01:56:01 - 01:56:06 | Speaker 1:

Good. Just wanted to take a moment of your time. Do you have a moment of time?

01:56:07 - 01:56:07 | Speaker 4:

Sure.

01:56:08 - 01:56:21 | Speaker 1:

Okay, just wanted to talk to you. Is there any way that we can wipe the slate clean on last Christmas and the fact that I bought you a Roomba and you have never stopped talking about that to every one of our friends?

01:56:25 - 01:56:36 | Speaker 4:

I just want to know what the motivation behind the Roomba was because, I mean, I am clean. Everything is very clean. It was a hot gift. I don't know if that was a dig or...

01:56:36 - 01:56:45 | Speaker 1:

No, it was not. It was not a dig. See, it's not like getting you a regular vacuum. I got you a robotic vacuum. I think you work too hard and I would like the robot to take care of things.

01:56:46 - 01:56:46 | Speaker 4:

Okay.

01:56:47 - 01:57:05 | Speaker 1:

But the worst part is, and the reason I bring this thing up is because we've seen numerous friends over the last week or so, and it seems like all the wives want to know, so what do you think Tom's going to get you for Christmas? I don't know, but last year he got me, and that keeps coming up, and I'm wondering, can't we move on?

01:57:05 - 01:57:11 | Speaker 2:

Can't we move forward with this? You have this year to prove yourself to erase the past mistakes, right?

01:57:11 - 01:57:14 | Speaker 3:

Chels, any guesses on what he is going to get you this year?

01:57:15 - 01:57:21 | Speaker 4:

Okay, so my phone went dead for a little bit. Sorry about that. So, I'm sorry, Shannon, what did you say?

01:57:21 - 01:57:23 | Speaker 3:

Any guesses on what he might get you this year?

01:57:25 - 01:57:33 | Speaker 4:

Oh, like, we're not supposed to be exchanging gifts. So, that's the other thing. Okay, okay. Although, when we were at our... And you did get me a Roomba.

01:57:34 - 01:57:39 | Speaker 1:

Although, we were at a holiday party the other night, and you said that you bought me something. Well, I gave you something from The Voice.

01:57:39 - 01:57:42 | Speaker 4:

I gave you something very small from the boys.

01:57:42 - 01:57:44 | Speaker 1:

Then the Roomba was from the boys.

01:57:45 - 01:57:51 | Speaker 2:

So is the policy of exchanging no gifts in at all any reaction to the horrible gift he gave you last year?

01:57:52 - 01:57:54 | Speaker 4:

No, because we've had that rule for years.

01:57:54 - 01:57:55 | Speaker 2:

Oh, okay.

01:57:55 - 01:58:06 | Speaker 1:

The worst part of the Roomba gift was, Chelsea, and you can maybe explain this and refresh this if the listeners don't remember it from when we came back from the holidays last year. Who picked up the Roomba?

01:58:06 - 01:58:26 | Speaker 4:

so you picked it up with me in the car and you told me don't don't look don't look they're gonna they're putting something in the car they're putting something in the car for you because because of covid they load it in the back of your car yeah and so i saw them put a roomba i thought

01:58:26 - 01:58:57 | Speaker 1:

the best i thought best buy was gonna like have it wrapped up nice like when they do curbside they should actually make sure they put a bag around the damn thing. Here's what I want to do. I want listeners to call up and talk about that one year that you got that present. What's the one present that you cannot outlive or somebody will never forget? 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. It's always brought up as a punchline to things. Wait till you see what I got you this year.

01:58:58 - 01:59:01 | Speaker 4:

It's nothing. The newest

01:59:01 - 01:59:08 | Speaker 1:

model of Roomba I got you the Roomba the Roomba model that not only will vacuum the floors

01:59:08 - 01:59:15 | Speaker 4:

I did give it to Joe and he does use it all the time now so it was put to good use

01:59:15 - 01:59:17 | Speaker 1:

and it's the gift that keeps on giving

01:59:17 - 01:59:19 | Speaker 4:

sure

01:59:19 - 01:59:24 | Speaker 1:

don't you have Roomba envy when you know that your son has a nice Roomba and you don't

01:59:24 - 01:59:26 | Speaker 4:

no I don't

01:59:26 - 01:59:31 | Speaker 1:

alright have a good day We'll talk to you later You too Bye

01:59:31 - 01:59:45 | Speaker 3:

So I thought I got my sister A really amazing gift last year I was super excited This is my sister Emily Who's saving the world right now And I got her a pair of Doc Martin boots I was like this is a sweet gift

01:59:45 - 01:59:48 | Speaker 2:

Oh I know what the problem is She's vegan

01:59:48 - 01:59:54 | Speaker 3:

And she like protests for like animal rights and stuff And she's like you got me leather boots

01:59:54 - 01:59:57 | Speaker 2:

And Doc does have vegan boots They do

01:59:57 - 01:59:59 | Speaker 1:

What does she wear on her feet then why did she

02:00:00 - 02:00:05 | Speaker 7:

Vegan anything or tennis shoes. Canvas or something? Yeah, like nothing that has any animal products.

02:00:05 - 02:00:09 | Speaker 1:

Did she get rid of nice clothes and stuff like that that she had that was not vegan?

02:00:10 - 02:00:12 | Speaker 7:

She doesn't even buy anything that's not vegan.

02:00:12 - 02:00:13 | Speaker 1:

So in the past, though, she never did?

02:00:13 - 02:00:15 | Speaker 7:

I mean, in the past she did, but.

02:00:15 - 02:00:16 | Speaker 1:

So she has to get rid of all that stuff?

02:00:16 - 02:00:23 | Speaker 7:

She's like, you literally got me something that I'm protesting against. I couldn't have gotten her a worse gift.

02:00:23 - 02:00:26 | Speaker 1:

Ask her if she'd like a Roomba. What's up, Karen? Hi.

02:00:28 - 02:00:34 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Last year, we were renovating our kitchen during COVID, and I got a big, huge frying pan.

02:00:38 - 02:00:44 | Speaker 3:

No matter how much a woman needs something for the kitchen, don't buy it for Christmas.

02:00:45 - 02:00:46 | Speaker 1:

Did you use it?

02:00:46 - 02:00:47 | Speaker 5:

I told everybody.

02:00:47 - 02:00:48 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

02:00:48 - 02:00:50 | Speaker 5:

I told everybody I got a frying pan.

02:00:50 - 02:00:52 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. Did you use it to hit him over the head with?

02:00:54 - 02:00:58 | Speaker 5:

No, but I did cook with it not too long ago, so he said, so you did like it. I didn't know.

02:00:59 - 02:01:02 | Speaker 1:

It's still not acceptable. Cindy, hi.

02:01:04 - 02:01:04 | Speaker 3:

Hi.

02:01:04 - 02:01:05 | Speaker 1:

Hi. What's that?

02:01:05 - 02:01:06 | Speaker 3:

I didn't tell you what I am.

02:01:06 - 02:01:07 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

02:01:07 - 02:01:30 | Speaker 3:

I hated, hated. My ex-husband, I was married like 20 years at this point, and I hate the colors orange and yellow and green. Everybody in the world that knows me knows I hate those colors, right? So I opened this present, and what did he buy me? He bought me this shirt that was army green with yellow and orange. And I was like, what did he shop for?

02:01:30 - 02:01:30 | Speaker 1:

What is he thinking?

02:01:30 - 02:01:34 | Speaker 3:

It wasn't me because I hate this, and I never wore it, and I just hated it. I hated it.

02:01:35 - 02:01:41 | Speaker 1:

Maybe he was trying to brighten your day. Maybe he thought that the colors would make you happy, but he doesn't understand. What's going on, Caitlin?

02:01:43 - 02:02:08 | Speaker 6:

Good morning. I had the funniest gift. Underneath the tree was an Amazon box, not wrapped or anything. And I opened it, and there was like a plethora of gifts. But the best one is I have glasses, and I cannot see at night at all. I can't even see my phone. And he got me a wood clock off Amazon, and he said, isn't this awesome? There's a light to see the time. And I was like, I can't even see my phone, let alone a clock.

02:02:09 - 02:02:13 | Speaker 1:

He needs to get you, like, one of those talking clocks so that we'll tell you this time.

02:02:14 - 02:02:16 | Speaker 6:

Anything else. A new phone would have worked.

02:02:16 - 02:02:21 | Speaker 1:

That's funny. It's a romantic gift, by the way, a clock. Mary Beth.

02:02:21 - 02:02:50 | Speaker 4:

hey hey this was actually what your dad got your mom so for one of their first Christmases after they got married my mom really wanted a porcelain angel tree topper and my dad bought her a gift wrapped it put it under the tree and she would shake it and tell her best friend who lived next door that she was positive my dad bought her this this porcelain angel and her best friend was like Like, yeah, it's Bob. Like, don't get excited.

02:02:50 - 02:02:53 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'd say they knew he was not a good gift giver, okay?

02:02:54 - 02:02:58 | Speaker 4:

Right, exactly, exactly. And so on Christmas morning, she opened it, and it was a water weenie.

02:03:01 - 02:03:03 | Speaker 1:

What's a water weenie? What is a water weenie?

02:03:03 - 02:03:19 | Speaker 4:

So, right, so I don't, what time is it? Just so that I'm super appropriate for the radio. A water weenie is a tube filled with water, right? And when you play with it, it squirts out of your hand, and it makes a certain, I don't know, motion. That might not be Yeah, yeah, yeah

02:03:19 - 02:03:21 | Speaker 1:

Where did your dad purchase that? At like an adult store?

02:03:22 - 02:04:03 | Speaker 4:

Probably Like I don't You can actually buy them At like CVS Oh really, okay So my dad thought It was hilarious, right? Thought this was like The most historical I think she almost Divorced him So fast forward Like 40 years And we have a white Christmas party Right? A white elephant Christmas party And my dad thought It would be hilarious To bring this gift back So he wrapped it And we exchanged it As a white elephant gift And my niece gets it, who's 13 years old. Oh, no. So his granddaughter opens up this gift, and everyone is, like, mortified. She's like, what is this? And she has no idea, right? But they think it's hilarious because it, like, flies out of your hand, and we're all just sitting there thinking he's getting divorced again.

02:04:03 - 02:04:13 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, a fun water weenie. I like Jason. Jason said that his grandpa cannot live down the present that he got grandma. What did he get grandma?

02:04:14 - 02:04:18 | Speaker 2:

My grandfather bought my grandmother a snow shovel for Christmas one year.

02:04:18 - 02:04:21 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my gosh. What a terrible gift.

02:04:22 - 02:04:38 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, he thought it was great. He was a traveling salesman. And he's like, well, now you can shovel when I'm not here. And he never lived it down that he bought her a snow shovel one year.

02:04:38 - 02:04:45 | Speaker 1:

Tell me that the romance hasn't rubbed off on his grandson. And, Jason, you're better at buying gifts.

02:04:45 - 02:04:52 | Speaker 2:

Oh, no, I'm way better. My wife loves everything I get her. At least that's what she tells me anyway.

02:04:54 - 02:04:57 | Speaker 1:

Get her a snow shovel this year and see what her reaction is. That's what you'll know.

02:04:58 - 02:04:59 | Speaker 2:

I think I'll pass.

02:04:59 - 02:04:59 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

02:05:00 - 02:05:42 | Speaker 2:

this is mojo in the morning mojo in the morning show you know as a parent i've kind of lived through a lot i've got three sons and so i've seen it all with them or at least i thought i saw it all you know i've had my kids sneak out of the house when they were teenagers i've had you know my kids, you know, uh, partake in a little, uh, illegal narcotics and get busted for that or drink when they were under age. Uh, you know, I'm talking about like some of the biggest stuff, but I'm the trials and

02:05:42 - 02:05:48 | Speaker 1:

tribulations of teenagers, raising kids, being a parent, but I have never in my life seen

02:05:48 - 02:07:43 | Speaker 2:

what happened to me happen, uh, uh, just, uh, recently I have never known that my son could become, who by the way is 16, a gambling addict. Never thought that this was the case. But I think that there are a lot of teenage parents who are dealing with this right now. So my son Luke is obsessed with and I think the lot has to do with all these gambling apps that are now legal in the state of Michigan. So there's like every app out there. FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars, uh, bet MGM, uh, bet rivers. I mean, they're all of these things. So Luke and his buddies are all into this. And a lot of his friends have, uh, asked their parents, Hey, can we get a, you know, an account? And it's not legal if you're not 21 years of age. Right. So what I decided to do was I said, all right, here's the deal. You tell me what your bets would be. And if I agree with your bets, I'll place the bets, you know, myself. And so we kind of went with that, and we actually started winning. We started doing okay because he's got good bets. Yeah. Like, you know, he actually follows things a little bit better than I do. And I was like, oh, this is all right. So I was kind of sharing the winnings with him. Well, then I got a little crazy, and I gave him the access to my app for one bet because I couldn't make it. So I gave him the password for the thing. Uh-oh. Only to find out that Luke started withdrawing money from my account and adding money to the thing and did, hold on a second, let me look exactly how much this is. You got a calculator? Add this up.

02:07:43 - 02:07:44 | Speaker 1:

Go ahead.

02:07:45 - 02:07:58 | Speaker 2:

$10. Mm-hmm. $25. Mm-hmm. $20. Mm-hmm. $25. Mm-hmm. $25, all in a matter of just about two hours.

02:07:58 - 02:07:58 | Speaker 1:

$105.

02:07:59 - 02:07:59 | Speaker 2:

Those are different ones.

02:07:59 - 02:08:00 | Speaker 1:

Wow.

02:08:00 - 02:08:28 | Speaker 2:

$105. So I had to stop him from doing this thing. I had to pretty much say to him, you cannot do this anymore. You're done. So I sent him a text message, and I said, Luke, no more, and immediately stop. And he said, okay, no problem. And so this just shows you how it is with Luke, because I had to have a big question with him. And I say, all right, here's the deal. You're banned. Now I'm not even going to take your – although I might take a couple of tips from him.

02:08:29 - 02:08:30 | Speaker 1:

You're like, wait a second.

02:08:30 - 02:08:55 | Speaker 2:

This is now going to – wait, this punishment is now hurting me. I said to him, I said, no more. You're not going to have any access to this anymore. I'm not going to do it. And this, by the way, I had to cut this kid off before with Fortnite because he kept buying skins. And it became such a big deal that he spent more money in skins than Chelsea and I had spent in clothing for like a six-month period of time. Really? Or, yeah, he was buying those. He was buying, isn't that what they call them? Yeah.

02:08:55 - 02:09:07 | Speaker 1:

Those in-app purchases are nothing to kids because they don't feel the pain of losing the money. To them, it's all like a game. So it's the same with online gambling. It feels like a video game because they're not suffering to see a couple hundred dollars disappear out of their account.

02:09:08 - 02:10:03 | Speaker 2:

I like this text message here that just came in. It says, Mojo's walking a fine line of admitting that his 16-year-old son is his bookie. He truly is, by the way. But, yeah, it becomes such an addiction with everything, first with the games and then now with the betting and stuff like that, that it becomes like a deal where you've got to be really, really careful. You don't want him to become addicted to it, especially because I don't want him, when he's 21 years old, taking any money that he has and all of a sudden going out and gambling it away, realizing when enough is enough. Because I have a rule on mine I put money in And the money I put in I will never let it go lower than what the money I put in I know this sounds weird to say this When it's gone it's gone You're playing with the house money Yes So I put, and I'll be honest, I put $500 in.

02:10:03 - 02:10:03 | Speaker 1:

Okay.

02:10:04 - 02:11:23 | Speaker 2:

And in my account right now, there's like $538. Okay. So I'm $38 away from breaking even. So what I do is I try and I never, I'll try to like, and then I have like a thing with this because I like to play blackjack. That's my game. So I make like dollar bets and stuff. I know it's, you know, I'm not a, I'm not a, what do they call them? A whale? I'm not a whale. Although I kind of am a whale. the size of a whale, but I'll make bets, and if I get to a point where I win, like, say I win, like, 50 bucks, I'm like, all right, I'm 50 up, I'm done for now, and then I'm done for the day. See, I got, I got, why can't I control food eating like this? Like, I control my gambling. You have a really good boundary there. I got a very, it's very good. I said, I said I'm making sure, but, but my son doesn't know this, and I'm trying to explain to him that, you know, you can't go out and do this. This kid, for some reason, bets the Pistons games all the time. And the Pistons have lost more money for my son than any money ever. Because he doesn't always bet them to win. He'll bet like parlays and things like that, thinking that those will be easy. And it ends up screwing him up. Mike, I know you're a little bit of a gambler. You're a little bit of a user of, what is it? Which one do you do?

02:11:23 - 02:11:24 | Speaker 3:

DraftKings.

02:11:24 - 02:11:29 | Speaker 2:

do you uh ever have to like uh be careful with uh ally like do you have a rule for yourself

02:11:29 - 02:11:54 | Speaker 3:

i have to yes i have to have a rule because to me i'm basically paying to play so if like i was gonna go do anything else like if i was gonna go on vacation we're gonna go to the casino for example i would be like all right i'm gonna spend 50 bucks to play at the casino and then if i walk away with anything at all then i've i've won even if it's not more than 50 bucks yeah you know what i mean but i know going into it that i'm paying for this fun for that look at the casinos the

02:11:54 - 02:12:12 | Speaker 1:

the the old-fashioned brick and mortar you know buildings the casinos you realize why they have all those fancy lights and look and you know it's like very rarely can humans control the urge when you are up money you go well now i'm playing with money it found money you know and were you gonna

02:12:12 - 02:12:17 | Speaker 2:

use the saying that that those big buildings weren't built on yeah right they always say

02:12:17 - 02:12:21 | Speaker 1:

Look at the lights on Las Vegas. You know what powers those lights? You're lost money.

02:12:22 - 02:12:29 | Speaker 2:

I used that with Luke. I said to him, I said, that app wasn't built on winners. That app was built on losers.

02:12:30 - 02:12:38 | Speaker 1:

Rarely do people win once big and walk away. You always go, oh, my gosh, I'm up 5,000. Now I can have fun and play it. And you just keep playing it until you put it all back in and you're up zero again.

02:12:38 - 02:12:46 | Speaker 3:

But if you put in 1,000 to get in, I would take the, I mean, I don't even go that high, but I would take out the 1,000 and then just play with whatever's left. With whatever you have, yeah.

02:12:46 - 02:13:00 | Speaker 2:

So, texter here says, but how much did he win from spending that $105? Here's the thing. He didn't win anything. Now, if he took out the $105 and he would have won like $500.

02:13:00 - 02:13:01 | Speaker 3:

You would have let him keep going?

02:13:01 - 02:13:12 | Speaker 2:

Then I would have said to him, all right, we're going to stop the whole withdrawals. We're not doing any more withdrawals. But nice job, son.

02:13:13 - 02:13:14 | Speaker 3:

Would you take a cut?

02:13:14 - 02:14:01 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I always take a cut. It's your money It's my money Because I got to pay him So what I always end up doing This is how I take a cut Ellen I take a cut by saying I don't have any more money So say for instance that he wins like $200 One time he won $280 It's like unbelievable And legit I only had $75 in my pocket So I was like alright I'm going to give you $75 But the house is going to keep And the house is me Because I'm the house I don't know if you know that When I said the house I'm the house So I kept the rest of the money Well guess who won That's where I at least look at that $105 I've made money from Luke So I've made him His bets have Gotten me some good cash Emily what's going on

02:14:01 - 02:14:03 | Speaker 4:

Hi how are you

02:14:03 - 02:14:03 | Speaker 2:

Good

02:14:03 - 02:14:17 | Speaker 4:

So I'm listening to you guys Talk about how you set Budgets for yourself but I'm thinking I'm going to Soaring Eagle this weekend to spend $500 on a bingo session, so I'm not doing that great.

02:14:18 - 02:14:22 | Speaker 2:

Really? Bingo? So you just play good old-fashioned bingo, huh?

02:14:23 - 02:14:31 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. I mean, the payouts are more than what I put in sometimes, so it's real fun.

02:14:31 - 02:14:33 | Speaker 2:

Maybe Luke and I should hang out.

02:14:33 - 02:14:34 | Speaker 4:

Heck, I love a lot of bingo.

02:14:35 - 02:14:41 | Speaker 2:

At, like, I don't know, our Holy Family or something like that and go to Holy Family's bingo night.

02:14:41 - 02:14:45 | Speaker 3:

What if there's a whole underground bingo club that people are playing? For sure there is.

02:14:47 - 02:14:55 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, no, we've been doing it for about two years now, and we've probably won about maybe like $25,000 altogether.

02:14:55 - 02:14:59 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. I'm coming with you. I'll see you at Story & Eagle, okay?

02:15:00 - 02:15:03 | Speaker 1:

All right. Sounds good. Take care. David, what's happening? It's Mojo in the Morning.

02:15:04 - 02:15:17 | Speaker 2:

I've been to the casino one time, Niagara Falls, 1997. I won $18,000 on roulette, and I walked away, and I came home with $7,000, spent it all on the weekend fund.

02:15:17 - 02:15:22 | Speaker 1:

Wait, you won $18,000, but only came home with $7,000. You blew all the rest of that money?

02:15:22 - 02:15:31 | Speaker 2:

Yep. Yep. 22 years old. I spent $11,000 on clubbing, we'll say.

02:15:31 - 02:15:33 | Speaker 1:

Wine, women, and song, right?

02:15:33 - 02:15:41 | Speaker 2:

I had a banger of a weekend. But that's the only time I've been to the casino. Roulette, Red 12. I'll never forget it.

02:15:41 - 02:15:48 | Speaker 1:

Wow. And you have that much self-control that you won that money when you were in 20s. And how old are you now, David?

02:15:49 - 02:15:49 | Speaker 2:

47.

02:15:50 - 02:15:52 | Speaker 1:

And you've never been back? To a casino?

02:15:53 - 02:15:56 | Speaker 2:

I've never been back, no. What's your secret? You're not going to do it twice.

02:15:56 - 02:15:57 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah.

02:15:58 - 02:16:02 | Speaker 2:

It'll never happen. How many people do you know that's won $18,000 two times?

02:16:02 - 02:16:03 | Speaker 1:

Holy cow.

02:16:03 - 02:16:15 | Speaker 2:

I don't know anybody. I went for a Euchre tournament. We went to the casino at Niagara Falls. I wanted to play Blackjack. It was too high of a minimum. I threw everything on Red 12, and it hit. I didn't know I won until she pushed the chips in front of me.

02:16:16 - 02:16:16 | Speaker 1:

Wow.

02:16:17 - 02:16:17 | Speaker 2:

Amazing.

02:16:18 - 02:16:24 | Speaker 1:

What a day. You must add, did you have all the, Although you were at, wait, you were at Niagara Falls at a...

02:16:24 - 02:16:27 | Speaker 2:

Yep. I was on the Canadian side at Niagara Falls Casino. Yep.

02:16:28 - 02:16:30 | Speaker 1:

What were the hookers like at that one?

02:16:31 - 02:16:34 | Speaker 2:

Oh, man. Oh, man. That's your answer.

02:16:36 - 02:16:39 | Speaker 1:

All right. You behave yourself now, David.

02:16:40 - 02:16:42 | Speaker 2:

I'm an old man. That's a young man's game.

02:16:43 - 02:16:50 | Speaker 1:

I'm straight now. I'm not going to play. All right. Thank you for the call. Take care of yourself. All right. What's happening, Faith? It's Mojo in the morning.

02:16:50 - 02:17:14 | Speaker 3:

Good morning. Good morning. I just got back from my first trip to Vegas, my really first time gambling. And I decided, you know, play the slots a little bit. So I put $5 in. And every time I tell this story, I tell people, guess how much I got back. And everyone guesses different numbers, but I told them I got $70. And so they're like, oh, $70 is not bad from $5. And then I get to tell them it was actually just $0.70.

02:17:15 - 02:17:16 | Speaker 1:

So that's my.

02:17:16 - 02:17:18 | Speaker 5:

Oh, I thought it was going to be big.

02:17:20 - 02:17:21 | Speaker 3:

That's my gambling story.

02:17:21 - 02:17:25 | Speaker 1:

There's your gambling story. Oh, great. Thanks so much. Is this true?

02:17:25 - 02:17:31 | Speaker 5:

This person texted, I put $10 on the app, won $49,000, deleted the app immediately.

02:17:31 - 02:17:32 | Speaker 1:

You can do that. That can happen.

02:17:32 - 02:17:33 | Speaker 5:

Holy crap.

02:17:33 - 02:17:58 | Speaker 1:

Depending on what your bet is. I mean, that's the thing. I know people that do crazy, stupid parlays all the time, only putting a couple of dollars on it. And if the parlays hit, like if you do like a five, you know, five out or seven out parlay or whatever. Action cheaters and proud of it. Ow, I'm sorry. Get your home for War of the Roses on Mojo in the Morning. Cam, why do you think your husband is cheating on you?

02:17:58 - 02:18:17 | Speaker 4:

well i uh went away for a business trip a couple weeks ago and i came home and found a couple of half empty bottles of uh fireball and and rum chata hidden away in

02:18:17 - 02:18:23 | Speaker 1:

the recycling bin so what would make you think that he's cheating because there's rum chata Sounds like a party.

02:18:24 - 02:18:30 | Speaker 4:

He doesn't drink that stuff, so I thought maybe there was a party. I mean, he's an artisanal beer kind of a guy.

02:18:30 - 02:18:33 | Speaker 1:

Did you ask him if he had people over?

02:18:33 - 02:18:47 | Speaker 4:

I did, and he said, no, he didn't. But before I asked him, I went and looked at my Nest Cam, which he had unplugged for the week that I was gone. Like, it was just black.

02:18:48 - 02:18:49 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah. Oh, really?

02:18:50 - 02:18:50 | Unknown:

Yeah.

02:18:50 - 02:18:54 | Speaker 1:

Did you say to him, hey, what was up with the Nest Cam?

02:18:54 - 02:18:55 | Speaker 4:

He doesn't know.

02:18:56 - 02:19:05 | Speaker 1:

So are you assuming that if there's this, you know, what did you say? It was rum chata? What did you say it was? And fireball.

02:19:05 - 02:19:08 | Speaker 4:

Rum chata and fireball. So I think he had a girl over.

02:19:09 - 02:19:16 | Speaker 1:

Because of he's not. The choice of liquor? He had a college girl over. Or my dad. Or me.

02:19:17 - 02:19:32 | Speaker 6:

Shannon's mom over. The Nest Cam thing, though, is suspicious because it can go offline. I have one. It can go offline by itself. But if you – I mean, you could unplug it. You could turn it off. And then – did it just show up black?

02:19:32 - 02:19:34 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, it was completely black.

02:19:34 - 02:19:34 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

02:19:35 - 02:19:50 | Speaker 4:

When I went to go see what was going on, it had been unplugged. And he must have forgotten to plug it in. And, again, he doesn't drink that sweet stuff. It just isn't his thing. And who put two half-full bottles of liquor? in the garbage and hides it and it wasn't even the garbage it was the recycling

02:19:50 - 02:19:52 | Speaker 2:

oh at least he's conscientious

02:19:52 - 02:19:57 | Speaker 4:

well you can't recycle if there's still stuff inside of it I mean you gotta wash that out

02:19:57 - 02:19:57 | Speaker 2:

right

02:19:57 - 02:20:11 | Speaker 1:

alright um We're going to call him up to see where he's going to send a dozen free roses. It's the Mojo in the Morning, War of the Roses. Is Kim's husband cheating on her? I want you to keep quiet, mute your phone, and let Shannon do all the talking.

02:20:12 - 02:20:25 | Unknown:

Okay. Hello?

02:20:26 - 02:20:27 | Speaker 2:

I'm looking for Logan, please.

02:20:28 - 02:20:29 | Speaker 3:

Who's asking?

02:20:29 - 02:20:44 | Speaker 2:

Hi, Logan. My name's Nicole, and I'm calling you from an internet floral company called rosesbloom.com. And if you have 30 seconds of free time to answer two quick survey questions for me, Logan, we're going to give you a dozen long-stemmed red roses that you can send to anybody anywhere in the country.

02:20:44 - 02:20:45 | Speaker 3:

Okay.

02:20:46 - 02:20:51 | Speaker 2:

Can you do that for me? 30 seconds tops.

02:20:51 - 02:20:52 | Speaker 3:

Sure.

02:20:52 - 02:20:59 | Speaker 2:

Okay. Have you purchased flowers in the past six months? No. And do you plan on purchasing flowers in the next six months?

02:21:00 - 02:21:00 | Speaker 3:

No, not really.

02:21:01 - 02:21:19 | Speaker 2:

Okay. That's all I needed from you. And as a thank you for participating in that rosesbloom.com survey, like I said, we're going to give you that dozen long-stemmed red roses, and these can go anywhere in the country. We're not going to ask you for your credit card information or anything like that, but I do need some info about the person that you want to send them to, starting off with a first and a last name.

02:21:19 - 02:21:22 | Speaker 3:

Okay. Yeah, Kim really.

02:21:24 - 02:21:33 | Speaker 2:

Okay. And before I get her telephone number, can I also just get her relationship to you just so we have it on file in case you order from us, hopefully in the future?

02:21:34 - 02:21:35 | Speaker 3:

She's just a good friend.

02:21:35 - 02:21:35 | Unknown:

Okay.

02:21:37 - 02:21:57 | Speaker 2:

And we can also include a message with the flowers, kind of like what you would write on a card if you wanted to do that. No, that's okay. I mean, my name on there is fine. So just sign just your name. Yeah, just my name's fine. Okay. Cool. And, Logan, we also have to let you know that this call is being recorded for quality and training purposes. Are you okay with that?

02:22:00 - 02:22:01 | Speaker 3:

I guess so.

02:22:02 - 02:22:02 | Speaker 2:

Great.

02:22:03 - 02:22:29 | Speaker 1:

Logan, I'm going to jump on so I can get that phone number from you. Before I do that, I also have to let you know that while we were talking to you and you were sending the flowers, your wife was listening in on the phone and heard you send them to another woman. Logan, this is the Mojo on the morning show.

02:22:31 - 02:22:31 | Speaker 3:

Okay.

02:22:32 - 02:22:39 | Speaker 1:

And we were doing a thing that we call the War of the Roses. Because your wife was suspecting that you might be cheating on her.

02:22:41 - 02:22:43 | Speaker 3:

Well, I'm not cheating on her.

02:22:46 - 02:22:50 | Speaker 1:

Kim, do you know who that is that he sent the flowers to?

02:22:50 - 02:22:53 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's one of his female co-workers

02:22:53 - 02:23:03 | Speaker 1:

Logan Yes This is your chance to explain

02:23:03 - 02:23:11 | Speaker 3:

Well, I I just thought it would be a nice deed

02:23:11 - 02:23:17 | Speaker 2:

But why send them to a co-worker over your wife?

02:23:17 - 02:23:24 | Speaker 1:

that's a good question and what would be a good answer

02:23:24 - 02:24:36 | Speaker 3:

i i i really don't know what to tell you like why is she top of mind i'm pardon me why is she top of mind well like i said she's just a good friend wanted to show my appreciation for what just being there are you no I'm not was she there for you the week I went is that what you're thanking her for did you also thank her with rum chata and fireball and she you you have to thank her for something that was um so amazing you had to unplug the nest cam i think we need to talk about this in person and not on the phone i tried talking to you about this in person you lied to my face how about this why don't i put

02:24:36 - 02:24:39 | Speaker 1:

you guys on hold so you can talk to each other so that we're not listening.

02:24:41 - 02:24:48 | Speaker 3:

Stay with me. This is the home of War of the Roses.

02:24:48 - 02:24:49 | Speaker 1:

I absolutely love it.

02:24:50 - 02:24:50 | Speaker 3:

Mojo in the Morning.

02:24:56 - 02:25:00 | Speaker 1:

Kim, do you know who that is? That he sent you to me?

02:25:00 - 02:25:03 | Speaker 5:

the flowers to yeah it's one of his female co-workers

02:25:09 - 02:25:21 | Speaker 4:

logan yes this is your chance to explain well i uh i just thought it would be a nice deed

02:25:24 - 02:25:27 | Speaker 3:

you thought it was why send them to a co-worker over your wife

02:25:30 - 02:25:34 | Speaker 7:

That's a good question. And what would be a good answer?

02:25:39 - 02:25:41 | Speaker 4:

I really don't know what to tell you.

02:25:41 - 02:25:43 | Speaker 2:

Like, why is she top of mind?

02:25:44 - 02:25:45 | Speaker 4:

Pardon me?

02:25:45 - 02:25:47 | Speaker 2:

Why is she top of mind?

02:25:50 - 02:25:54 | Speaker 1:

Well, like I said, she's just a good friend. Wanted to show my appreciation.

02:25:55 - 02:25:59 | Speaker 7:

Mojo in the Morning Show. Hi, Angie. Where are the roses? Do you want to comment?

02:26:00 - 02:26:27 | Speaker 5:

morning hi hi so why not show appreciation to your wife i mean she's traveling for work right isn't that what she said yeah yeah so she's traveling for work um and why not show appreciation to her because she's traveling to provide for you obviously to bring food you know like he just sounds very suspicious and especially if he doesn't drink that alcohol she was talking about So, I don't know. He just sounds very suspicious.

02:26:28 - 02:26:31 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. He sounds more than just suspicious. You can say other words about that, right?

02:26:32 - 02:26:38 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I already did in the text. Oh, what did you text? I can't say it. Oh.

02:26:39 - 02:26:41 | Speaker 7:

No, honestly, what did you say? Say it to me.

02:26:41 - 02:26:42 | Speaker 5:

Oh, dickhead.

02:26:42 - 02:26:42 | Speaker 7:

Oh, you can't.

02:26:43 - 02:26:59 | Speaker 3:

You actually can't say that. Yeah. Dickhead. Dickhead. Dickhead. Dickhead. If I got long-stemmed red roses from either one of you two, and it wasn't, like, no, ever. I think you both sent me flowers for the birth of babies, but other than that, I would be really weirded out.

02:27:00 - 02:27:00 | Speaker 7:

Just randomly.

02:27:01 - 02:27:01 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

02:27:02 - 02:27:04 | Speaker 7:

That's weird. Also, Sue?

02:27:05 - 02:27:06 | Speaker 4:

Yeah?

02:27:06 - 02:27:08 | Speaker 7:

That Nest Cam thing is kind of weird, too, isn't it?

02:27:09 - 02:27:24 | Speaker 4:

It's really weird. I mean, well, that's obvious that he did something wrong or he wouldn't have unplugged the Nest Cam. My question is, they obviously have a Nest Cam, which means they have kids, most likely. Oh, that doesn't, no.

02:27:25 - 02:27:28 | Speaker 7:

Actually, I don't think they do. A lot of people get them just to have for home security.

02:27:28 - 02:27:38 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, they don't have kids. Well, he definitely, he, I mean, there's no question in my mind, because I drink rum chata and my husband would never think of it.

02:27:39 - 02:27:40 | Speaker 7:

See, I don't, let's not know.

02:27:40 - 02:27:43 | Speaker 3:

Mix it with Fireball for a shot. It's called a Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It's amazing.

02:27:43 - 02:27:47 | Speaker 7:

I like rum chata, so don't, let's not stereotype rum chata, people.

02:27:48 - 02:27:50 | Speaker 4:

It's okay, but don't admit that you drink it. Oh, Jesus.

02:27:50 - 02:27:57 | Speaker 7:

All right, thank you. I appreciate that. Hi, Aaron. How are you? I'm getting shamed for being a rum chata drinker. What's going on?

02:27:58 - 02:28:35 | Speaker 1:

Well, you know, haters gonna hate. My theory on this is that he's not 100% lying, but he is cheating. He doesn't think he's cheating because at this point he's still trying to make something happen. I think he unplugged the Nest Cam the first night she came over. They had those drinks because, you know, you drink those kind of fast to go through only half a bottle means And he didn't have multiple sittings with it. He forgot to plug the camera back in. You don't send roses to just a co-worker. But when he did it, he was just a good friend. And he's caught in a lie, but he's not stumbling like some of the other people. By the way, Aaron, I want to say this.

02:28:35 - 02:28:45 | Speaker 7:

I give this guy credit because he stayed on the phone with us. So I'm going to give him a little applause here right now. I don't know if you get applause for that. No, no, no. I'm giving him applause because we get it.

02:28:45 - 02:28:48 | Speaker 1:

People applauded for NASCAR crashes, too. Yes, that's right.

02:28:48 - 02:28:59 | Speaker 7:

Hey, we've not had a guy that wanted to hang on the phone for a while, and he hung on the phone. They talked off the air for a little bit. Not very nice talk, but Victoria?

02:29:00 - 02:29:01 | Unknown:

Yes.

02:29:01 - 02:29:13 | Speaker 7:

Hi, War of the Roses. If you just missed this thing, you've got to listen to the podcast of the War of the Roses this morning as Kim heard her husband send flowers to another woman, a woman that he works with. What did you want to say?

02:29:14 - 02:29:44 | Speaker 6:

I wanted to say that I don't think he's having an affair. He's probably having an emotional affair. A lot of times in relationships, you know, people argue and, you know, they're not really getting along. And maybe this woman at work listened to him and they kind of commiserate about their relationship. Maybe his wife needs to be more attentive so that in any relationship, either person, you know, when you're complaining all the time or, you know, people get comfortable in their marriages and they don't fulfill the needs of the other person.

02:29:44 - 02:29:53 | Speaker 7:

No, that's a very, very good point that you say that. It may not be a physical relationship, but it could very well be just an emotional relationship.

02:29:53 - 02:29:59 | Speaker 3:

But I think that that's then the crack, right, that starts to get bigger and bigger and bigger.

02:30:00 - 02:30:17 | Speaker 5:

Pretty soon, it's the Grand Canyon, and there's a full-blown affair going on, if not already. Right. I don't think it's happening just yet. I sense that he's finding comfort in somebody else caring about his opinion, and maybe his wife should make him feel like he's more needed.

02:30:17 - 02:30:28 | Speaker 2:

Well, I don't know if I would put the shame on her for that. I wouldn't do that. I hate when people say that. But Joe actually brings up an interesting point here. Joe, what did you want to say? You're defending this guy?

02:30:28 - 02:30:42 | Speaker 3:

Well, I didn't quite say I defended him. I'm just saying maybe he's ashamed that he wanted to have a nice, relaxing weekend with some rum chata and fireball, and he doesn't want to tell his wife about it. He wanted to pamper himself a little bit. But he is still a dickhead. Right, right.

02:30:42 - 02:30:52 | Speaker 2:

Exactly. Thank you for the call, man. I appreciate that. Yeah, that's why he unplugged the Nest Cam, because he didn't want his wife to know that he was drinking rum chata. Mary.

02:30:52 - 02:30:53 | Speaker 6:

That's my favorite phone call.

02:30:53 - 02:30:54 | Speaker 2:

That is a great one. Mary?

02:30:55 - 02:30:56 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I'm here.

02:30:56 - 02:30:56 | Speaker 2:

Hi, Mary.

02:30:56 - 02:31:36 | Speaker 6:

So I was just going to say, like, when Shannon had asked him, you know, why send roses to a co-worker over your wife, his response was just so, you know, it wasn't good at all. He's like, oh, that's a good question, you know. I mean, I felt like he said, oh, we're good friends. It seems to me that they're not just good friends. It seems that they're more like friends with benefits, you know. It's more of a physical thing, the way I'm interpreting it. And, you know, I disagree with the other girl who was saying it's more emotional. If it was emotional, why would you have to hide, you know, from your wife the, like, alcohol, liquor bottles, and unplug the Nescan, you know, if they're getting comfortable in the relationship, they should be able to talk with each other, you know, not hide and just lie to

02:31:36 - 02:32:04 | Speaker 2:

each other like that. I asked off the air, and he refused to allow me to put that part on the air, but I asked, hey, so if you and this co-worker are just buddy-buddy, or this is, you're just trying to, you know, make her have a nice weekend or something, I said, can we call her? I said, Let's just call her up, and he refused to give us her number because he said he did not want to have that co-worker get involved in this.

02:32:05 - 02:32:13 | Speaker 6:

I disagree. I think it's pretty important that we hear her side too. She's just as much involved in it as they are.

02:32:13 - 02:32:18 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Well, thank you for the call. I appreciate you listening to the show. Thanks for listening to War of the Roses.

02:32:19 - 02:32:21 | Speaker 6:

Of course, yeah. Guys, have a nice day.

02:32:21 - 02:32:24 | Speaker 2:

You too. You too. Take care. What's up, Mike?

02:32:24 - 02:32:30 | Speaker 4:

This is Mike. I think he wanted to be like your son. He wanted to have a threesome. He was doing some interviewing.

02:32:30 - 02:32:33 | Speaker 2:

Why do you got to bring that up, Mike? Like, seriously. Mike.

02:32:34 - 02:32:37 | Speaker 4:

Mike. I'm happily married. I'm thinking about it.

02:32:37 - 02:32:37 | Speaker 2:

Mike.

02:32:37 - 02:32:38 | Unknown:

Mike.

02:32:38 - 02:32:46 | Speaker 2:

Do you understand that I haven't even thought about that for weeks now, and you had to bring that bad thing up again?

02:32:47 - 02:32:50 | Speaker 4:

Your son is the hero of every American man. Oh, my goodness gracious.

02:32:50 - 02:33:03 | Speaker 2:

Mike, my son Joe already has a big enough head than to have you calling up here and, you know, bringing up, rehashing his threesome that he announced on the radio.

02:33:03 - 02:33:05 | Speaker 4:

We're living through your son.

02:33:05 - 02:33:06 | Speaker 2:

Do you have children, Mike?

02:33:07 - 02:33:07 | Speaker 4:

Yes.

02:33:08 - 02:33:08 | Speaker 2:

What do you have?

02:33:09 - 02:33:09 | Speaker 4:

Two.

02:33:10 - 02:33:20 | Speaker 2:

What? Boy, girls? Two girls. High school. Mike, all I can say to you is they will be of age one day, Mike.

02:33:21 - 02:33:23 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my girls won't be doing that.

02:33:23 - 02:33:28 | Speaker 2:

Okay, Mike. I said that about my son Joe. I said my son Joe won't be doing that.

02:33:28 - 02:33:30 | Speaker 3:

It takes two girls for every guy to complete a three.

02:33:31 - 02:33:32 | Speaker 4:

It's simple for a boy, though.

02:33:33 - 02:33:36 | Speaker 2:

Okay. All right. All right, Mike. Well, thank you.

02:33:36 - 02:33:38 | Speaker 4:

Well, thank you, son, for us.

02:33:38 - 02:33:53 | Speaker 1:

Bye. How well do you know these songs? And who will win the Throwback Throwdown? Mojo in the Morning's Throwback Throwdown It's tomorrow morning at 8 on Mojo in the Morning

02:33:53 - 02:34:46 | Speaker 2:

Alright, I want to get into a quick little discussion that I was having with friends So we were out for dinner with some couples and while we were talking we were getting into the discussion of the fact that I have like 8,000 socks I don't know if you guys have lots of socks But I have lots of socks And I need to go through my sock drawer And just like get rid of socks that I haven't worn Probably ever or haven't worn in a long time All I've been wearing are Like the little socks Or the no-shows And I don't wear many other socks Other than that And then I've got like these dress socks That are like old manny dress socks That like I think I bought one time When I had a wedding to go to And I didn't have a pair of like nice socks

02:34:46 - 02:34:47 | Speaker 3:

Do they go, like, up over your knee?

02:34:47 - 02:36:03 | Speaker 2:

They can if you put them all the way up. And if you do, you kind of look like my dad, you know? And then I have, like, other socks that I thought would be cool on me. Like, I could buy, like... ones that said, like, the Pistons on it and stuff like that. They were, like, the old school ones that you would see Isaiah Thomas wearing, you know. They were, like, the old school bad boys ones. So got into a discussion of socks, and the discussion turned to how people wearing socks never look sexy. Socks aren't sexy. Sometimes they're pretty. Sometimes they're happy, you know, those happy socks. Sometimes they're cute. They are never sexy. And if you want your spouse to think that you are sexy, don't wear socks around. So if you're home and you are not going to put shoes on, take your socks off too. Put them in your shoes until later. Or if you're about to go to bed, don't sleep with socks. I hope, for God's sakes, that you're not sleeping next to the person that you love and you are wearing socks. because your spouse, let me finish for one second, Mike, and then you can defend yourself, you unsexy son of a bitch.

02:36:03 - 02:36:04 | Speaker 3:

That's fine. That's fine.

02:36:05 - 02:36:28 | Speaker 2:

No spouse wants to look at somebody's feet. If they're bad, that's why you clean your feet and make them look nice. But no spouse wants to see socks on their spouse. Wearing socks on you is like putting a hat on and wearing a hat to bed. You don't wear a hat to bed. You go to bed looking sexy, Michael.

02:36:29 - 02:36:43 | Speaker 3:

First off, I feel fully attacked by everything. You're the one that spoke up. I know. Well, that's fine. But I need a clear definition on socks because thigh highs, like if a woman wears thigh highs, I don't know if they're called pantyhose or what they're called. That, to me, is the sexiest thing in the entire world.

02:36:43 - 02:37:04 | Speaker 1:

I also think when girls wear the socks that go halfway up to right underneath your knee and then short booty shorts to the bed. I can't pull that off because He's talking about the lingerie But I'm talking about the man socks that girls will wear With short shorts and I think it looks so cute And very sexy

02:37:04 - 02:37:11 | Speaker 2:

Because they're wearing them for what? To lounge around the house No they're wearing them as a decorative I want to turn you on and give you a boner

02:37:11 - 02:37:16 | Speaker 1:

Okay but then this goes against what you're saying Technically then those are socks that are sexy

02:37:16 - 02:37:32 | Speaker 2:

This is what I'm talking about I'm talking about functionality socks Like the socks that you're wearing you know now possibly on your feet take those socks off yeah those are functional socks nobody wears the socks that you're talking about for for function right like my boyfriend Wes and I just

02:37:32 - 02:37:54 | Speaker 1:

had to have this conversation because he's a big fan like you are of the no-shows and sometimes it's either the first thing he'll put on or the last thing he'll take off and then I'll he'll be brushing his teeth and he'll have just that on and I'm like that is so weird you all I think about is elliot spitzer that story from back in the day of that creepy what was he he was the governor he

02:37:54 - 02:37:59 | Speaker 2:

was the attorney general governor slash governor of new york and all the hookers who hooked up with

02:37:59 - 02:38:04 | Speaker 1:

him said the same thing he only liked to wear black socks when he would hook up with them

02:38:04 - 02:39:11 | Speaker 2:

listen uh your boyfriend is a sexy man thank you west take off the gosh darn socks take off the socks please the okay so let me i want to i want to tell you the reason why we were bringing this up the reason why we're we were also bringing this up is that you look goofy even you know i guess girls can pull it off more but you look goofy if you go to bed and i see this sometimes guys will go to bed not that i go to bed with a lot of guys but i know guys do this you go to bed with a pair of shorts on and they will have their socks still on and they're rolling around and they do it because their feet get cold. If that's the case, get a blanket that covers your feet. Like, we were sitting at the table, and the friends of ours, he was like, well, my feet get cold. And I go, well, don't you have a blanket? He's like, yeah, but sometimes my feet poke out of there. And I'm like, well, figure out a way to tuck your blanket in or something. You know what I mean? Are there people that like making love with socks on, like baking cookies with socks on?

02:39:11 - 02:39:15 | Speaker 1:

Going to bed with socks on is one thing, but hooking up with socks on, no.

02:39:15 - 02:39:21 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, not good. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-654-8.

02:39:21 - 02:39:31 | Speaker 3:

But no, so I do wear, okay, I do wear socks to bed, and I have had sex with socks on. Do I aim to have sex with socks on? No. But do I go to bed with socks on probably 90% of the time?

02:39:32 - 02:39:43 | Speaker 2:

Yes. Ask Allie tonight. Go to bed and, like, actually, do this. Do one leg or foot with socks on One leg not And ask her which one looks better

02:39:43 - 02:40:00 | Speaker 3:

She has this thing where she doesn't like I don't know why specifically But where our feet can't touch each other She freaks out if our feet touch each other But if I have socks on Yeah I don't know why But if you have socks on she's okay with it? Yeah because she doesn't like our feet touching each other She likes to like touch each other

02:40:00 - 02:40:28 | Speaker 4:

other but just not our feet justine yes what's going on not much just you know driving 75 disgusting right it is disgusting especially by square lake road i just gotta let mike know he is not alone um my husband wears socks to bed but he has the prettiest and sexiest and cleanest feet that I've ever seen on a man.

02:40:29 - 02:40:30 | Speaker 2:

Tell him to take those things off.

02:40:31 - 02:40:33 | Speaker 4:

No, because I like the way his feet look.

02:40:35 - 02:40:36 | Speaker 2:

But he wears socks.

02:40:37 - 02:40:47 | Speaker 4:

I could put, yeah, well, he takes them off during the day, but, I mean, I could literally put his feet into a contest and I guarantee he would win. Oh, really?

02:40:48 - 02:40:51 | Speaker 6:

I'm not a good person, but I want to see what you're talking about now.

02:40:51 - 02:40:54 | Speaker 2:

But why does he keep socks on if you like his feet so much?

02:40:54 - 02:41:10 | Speaker 4:

well he's so used to doing it that he once in a while he'll sleep without them on but the socks are will protect his feet from getting quote-unquote ugly dirty if he's going to bed

02:41:10 - 02:41:36 | Speaker 2:

but he's in bed he should take him off in bed no it's fine it doesn't bother me you like when your man makes love to you with socks on yet he yet he has super sexy feet that part he takes them off for oh okay all right i thought i thought you meant okay he can wear socks when he's not in bed i get that but you confused me i thought that you were saying he was wearing socks to bed what's up

02:41:36 - 02:41:56 | Speaker 5:

bianca hi guys good morning good morning so i actually read in a study that keeping your socks on during sex will increase the chances of an orgasm we read that study i think a couple of weeks ago right it was pretty recent yeah so it might not be sexy but it's serving a purpose

02:41:56 - 02:42:03 | Speaker 2:

so have you tried this yet to see if the study was correct i mean i have before with socks on

02:42:03 - 02:42:08 | Speaker 5:

but i haven't paid attention you know to see if that's what was happening was the orgasm better

02:42:08 - 02:42:19 | Speaker 3:

uh what's going on rachel hey so um i just want to say one thing about the socks wearing socks But that is a damn no-go, and I don't care what anybody says.

02:42:19 - 02:42:39 | Speaker 2:

Thank you. Finally sensible people are calling through. Yes. Yes, exactly. Yeah. I don't care. I don't care. Can you imagine a guy with no clothes on, nothing on at all, and he's got socks on? You know? I don't know. I have no idea what that's called. I know if you wear a shirt and nothing else, it's called Winnie the Pooine. What is it called if all you have is socks on?

02:42:39 - 02:42:55 | Speaker 3:

i don't know but i'd kick him out of my house i couldn't do it yes yes thank you i don't know what it's called thank you where are you from rachel i'm from alginac michigan rachel from

02:42:55 - 02:42:59 | Speaker 2:

alginac michigan is the only sensible person listening to the mojo in the morning show

02:42:59 - 02:43:05 | Speaker 1:

take care of yourself all right take care it's better than the nigerian prince or click here

02:43:05 - 02:43:10 | Speaker 5:

reset your bank password another world famous phone scam happens at 9 50 on mojo in the morning

02:43:10 - 02:43:29 | Speaker 1:

we are all so excited that taylor swift's coming for two dates at ford field it's happening this summer and we want to give you a pair of tickets right now your chance to win a pair of tickets to see taylor swift june 9th text the word swift to 95500 do it right now mojo in the morning i

02:43:29 - 02:44:01 | Speaker 2:

gotta give an alert right now before we do the scam i will actually give you a segue to come back to us okay because we got scam coming up here in just a little bit and your kids are in the car if you have little teeny ones that love the magic of the season they may not want to hear what we're going to talk about here and for the next I'm going to give it five minutes okay so until we do the scam so you might want to turn them just away for a second what my suggestion is if you have little kids that are there like give them some kind of candy and have them run

02:44:01 - 02:44:05 | Speaker 6:

over to the yes candy this early in the morning it's a great idea just give him some it's good

02:44:05 - 02:44:21 | Speaker 2:

good stuff yeah so uh guess what was in shannon's pants is what we're going to talk about right now and and by the way i guess i guess that could have been a a warning in itself but it was actually kind of heartfelt and wonderful that was in your pants is it yeah it was the spirit of the season

02:44:21 - 02:44:59 | Speaker 6:

that was in your pants okay so i am one of those really weird parents that kind of likes having an Elf on the Shelf visiting our house during the holiday season. I love the magic of it and I think that this might be Lucy's last year of the magic if it hasn't happened already. Anyway, so I want to squeeze out as much magic as I can. However, any parent who has an elf in your home, you know the struggle and the anxiety of having to move this thing. It is like the tooth fairy. It is terrifying to try and pull out to try and pull off every night without getting caught

02:45:00 - 02:45:33 | Speaker 4:

And I was telling you, Mojo, it especially scares me lately because both of my kids tend to wake up in the middle of the night and they'll like wander into my room or wander to try to see like if I'm downstairs or whatever and want me to put them back to bed. And I'm so scared that as I'm switching, our elf's name is Rice Krispie Treat, by the way, that as I'm switching Rice Krispie Treat into her various like scenes at night that they're going to catch me elf handed. Well, yeah, the parents are creating for themselves. Basically, the tooth fairy situation every single night for a month.

02:45:33 - 02:45:39 | Speaker 3:

If you don't mind me asking, when does Rice Krispie Treat move?

02:45:39 - 02:45:53 | Speaker 4:

Sometimes she moves after the kids go to bed, and I think they're asleep. Sometimes she has moved in the morning right when I wake up for work at 345 because I'm so tired at night and I just fall asleep, and I don't have the energy to do it, okay?

02:45:53 - 02:45:54 | Speaker 3:

Okay, understand.

02:45:54 - 02:46:04 | Speaker 4:

So, the thing that I do to make sure that I am not caught with the elf in my hand is I put her down my pants. And I walk around the house and try to figure out where I'm going to put her next.

02:46:05 - 02:46:06 | Speaker 3:

So, you put her in.

02:46:07 - 02:46:16 | Speaker 4:

So, my elf is touching my Christmas, basically. It's very appropriate. But I'm like, this is kind of weird. As I pull her out of my underwear.

02:46:16 - 02:46:17 | Speaker 3:

Have the kids ever.

02:46:17 - 02:46:27 | Speaker 4:

But I don't, like, if somebody comes down the stairs or Smith wanders out of his room, at least that way they don't know that the elf is on me.

02:46:27 - 02:46:34 | Speaker 3:

Have the kids ever, like, been by you when all of a sudden they, like, startled you and they say, Mom, what's that?

02:46:34 - 02:46:43 | Speaker 4:

Well, yesterday morning I had, you know, set a reminder on my phone to move her because it was the first day. And as I was getting up to do it, Smith woke up.

02:46:43 - 02:46:44 | Speaker 3:

Oh, geez.

02:46:44 - 02:46:50 | Speaker 4:

And I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no. So I had to wait a little bit to do it. But I've never been caught.

02:46:51 - 02:47:02 | Speaker 3:

Does this happen to other parents that are listening? Have any other elves almost been caught in their movement time? And what do you do? Where do you have it?

02:47:02 - 02:47:05 | Speaker 1:

I feel like these elves were the best and the worst thing that ever happened to me.

02:47:05 - 02:47:13 | Speaker 4:

Kind of true. I love them. But at the same time, it's like you go into survival mode trying to create this.

02:47:13 - 02:47:21 | Speaker 3:

It's like Spike said, it's the Tooth Fairy times how many more days, and it's a pain in the butt with the Tooth Fairy alone. Now you've got to do this with this.

02:47:21 - 02:47:24 | Speaker 1:

Get to the list of reasons why I'm glad I don't have kids.

02:47:26 - 02:47:33 | Speaker 4:

My friends all have one elf for every kid in their family, and Wilhelmina's elf has pets.

02:47:33 - 02:47:34 | Speaker 3:

Your pants aren't big enough for that.

02:47:34 - 02:47:42 | Speaker 4:

Pets that come with her, and Jack's elf, oh yes, there's a reindeer, there's a dog. They market the crap out of this thing in crazy ways.

02:47:42 - 02:47:48 | Speaker 3:

It used to be back in the day that it was just the elf. Now it's the elf with a bunch of other accessories that they can now make money off of.

02:47:48 - 02:47:52 | Speaker 1:

Whoever marketed this thing, you deserve all the money in the world.

02:47:52 - 02:47:56 | Speaker 4:

It was just like a mom who wrote the book with this little doll.

02:47:56 - 02:48:08 | Speaker 3:

You know who hates the elf more than parents having to move it? Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer guy. Nobody cares about him. And grandma got run over by a reindeer guy and all the rest of those people. What's going on, Terry? Hi.

02:48:09 - 02:48:10 | Speaker 2:

Hi, good morning. I love you guys.

02:48:10 - 02:48:14 | Speaker 3:

Hey, we love you too. Did the elf almost get caught moving?

02:48:16 - 02:48:22 | Speaker 2:

My daughter got up, and she never gets up at night. And she got up at night, and I was in the pantry, so I shoved it in a cereal box.

02:48:25 - 02:48:28 | Speaker 4:

Why does the elf smell like Lucky Charms?

02:48:29 - 02:48:33 | Speaker 3:

What would have happened if your daughter just wanted one bowl of cereal before she went to bed?

02:48:34 - 02:48:39 | Speaker 2:

I would have been thankful because I shoved it in a special K and, like, ruined half my cereal. Okay.

02:48:40 - 02:48:42 | Speaker 3:

That's funny. Oh, my God. Isn't it a pain in the butt?

02:48:44 - 02:48:48 | Speaker 2:

I was not upset that I'd left my cereal box open like I normally would have freaked out about it. Yeah.

02:48:49 - 02:48:56 | Speaker 4:

By the way, I'm so happy that other parents are texting that they do the same thing with shoving the elf down your pants as you're walking around the house.

02:48:56 - 02:48:59 | Speaker 2:

I think it's genius, honestly. I was like, that's so smart. It is.

02:48:59 - 02:49:01 | Speaker 3:

Thank you for the call. I appreciate it.

02:49:01 - 02:49:01 | Speaker 2:

Thank you.

02:49:01 - 02:49:17 | Speaker 3:

Uh, texters here texting into us this morning, 248 says that, uh, they had almost an elf capture and they had to throw their elf out into the yard quickly when their kid came into the room. Can you imagine?

02:49:18 - 02:49:18 | Speaker 4:

I know.

02:49:18 - 02:49:24 | Speaker 3:

What happens if you throw it out and then you don't find it or you, something happens, you know, an animal comes and takes it away.

02:49:24 - 02:49:57 | Speaker 4:

Cause Andrew and I, we now each have one at our respective houses and there, we have a backup just in case because we've learned our lesson with this thing do you guys have the elves look like each other like well so now we do but the very first year that he had his own place he got the wrong eye colored elf and the wrong skin tone so they have different colors yeah so lucy's like how come the elf looks different how come rice crispy treat looks different at dad's house than it does at your house and i had to text andrew and be like you dummy you got the wrong one

02:49:57 - 02:49:59 | Speaker 3:

It's the lighting. It's daddy's lighting. Why?

02:50:00 - 02:50:04 | Speaker 4:

Why is Lucy just too smart? Don't you wish that your kids weren't that observant?

02:50:04 - 02:50:05 | Speaker 3:

But you know. Like, you know you're Elf, right?

02:50:06 - 02:50:15 | Speaker 4:

I know. Hold on. Let me grab a call here. Who's this? Yes, go ahead. Say your name.

02:50:16 - 02:50:17 | Speaker 2:

This is Marcellus. How you doing?

02:50:17 - 02:50:18 | Speaker 4:

Marcellus. Hey, Marcellus. What's the Elf's name?

02:50:19 - 02:50:20 | Speaker 2:

It's Job.

02:50:22 - 02:50:23 | Speaker 4:

I'm sorry. What did you say?

02:50:23 - 02:50:24 | Speaker 2:

We named him Job.

02:50:25 - 02:50:26 | Speaker 6:

Job. Okay.

02:50:26 - 02:50:27 | Speaker 1:

That's your Elf's name?

02:50:28 - 02:50:30 | Speaker 6:

Yes. You know, when you let the kids name things.

02:50:30 - 02:50:33 | Speaker 1:

I mean, we have Rice Krispie Treat. My niece has Moana.

02:50:33 - 02:50:35 | Speaker 4:

Trust me. And have you almost been caught?

02:50:36 - 02:50:56 | Speaker 2:

Definitely. So many times we've had to literally make the elk fly across their heads. Oh. And then from time to time, we have to literally stuff them in the fridge because they're literally creeping up right behind us. And what are we doing? So as soon as we're trying to get, like, milk and stuff for breakfast, we just stuff them in the fridge. Like, okay, that's where he is.

02:50:56 - 02:51:32 | Speaker 4:

poor job hysterical oh my gosh wow well thank you so thank you so much i gotta wrap this content or this uh conversation up here uh in just a second so maybe one last call uh kp and then that's it because we're gonna do the scam and then we'll bring the kids back to the radio uh i got a christmas scam and a big prize did your parents ever when you were kids did they ever send you out of the room for adult conversation they would do that before with us in our house they would say Mom and dad are going to have adult conversation And now I know what the adult conversation was It was about things in my mom's pants What's up, Autumn? Hi

02:51:32 - 02:51:34 | Speaker 1:

Hi, good morning

02:51:34 - 02:51:36 | Speaker 4:

How you doing? You almost got caught with the elf?

02:51:36 - 02:51:46 | Speaker 1:

Well, I didn't even get a chance to get caught Because after my daughter We introduced it to her She understood that it was supposed to tell What she was doing She threw it away

02:51:46 - 02:51:49 | Speaker 6:

You don't want no snitch in the house

02:51:49 - 02:51:59 | Speaker 5:

Snitches get stitches Wouldn't laugh so hard you'd pee your pants Listen to the phone scam It's this morning at 9.50 On Mojo in the Morning

02:51:59 - 02:52:21 | Speaker 6:

We've been talking about how there's a shortage of Santas in the mall So what we're going to do is I'm going to apply as a job a Santa's helper Renee works in the mall management office at one of our local malls And her co-workers said that it's a pretty busy time of year for them And she could use a laugh And it sounds like she could also use a Santa Claus It's a Mojo in the Morning phone scam.

02:52:21 - 02:52:31 | Speaker 5:

We will, we will scam you. Sorry, it's a catchy song. It's your home of phone scams. Mojo in the Morning.

02:52:34 - 02:52:37 | Speaker 8:

Good morning, S***. Small, this is Kevin speaking. How may I help you?

02:52:37 - 02:52:38 | Speaker 7:

Hey, is Renee there, please?

02:52:38 - 02:52:41 | Speaker 8:

Ooh, sorry, she's not available right now. Can I put you through to her voicemail?

02:52:42 - 02:52:44 | Speaker 7:

She's not around? I can't talk to her real quick?

02:52:44 - 02:52:49 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, she's in a meeting right now. I'm not supposed to disturb her. I can put you through her voicemail. She'll get back to this afternoon.

02:52:50 - 02:52:50 | Speaker 7:

It is Kevin, is it?

02:52:51 - 02:52:51 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, it is.

02:52:51 - 02:52:57 | Speaker 7:

Kevin and Spike, I'm with the Mojo on the morning show, but don't say that out loud, but I was asked to phone scam her.

02:52:57 - 02:53:02 | Speaker 8:

Oh, oh, okay. Can you put us through to her? Yeah, I can get her. Can you hold on just a sec?

02:53:02 - 02:53:06 | Speaker 3:

Hey, dude, dude, don't say anything to her, okay?

02:53:06 - 02:53:06 | Speaker 8:

Okay.

02:53:06 - 02:53:10 | Speaker 3:

Don't say who it is. Just put us through. It's a real important phone call. She has to grab it.

02:53:11 - 02:53:13 | Speaker 8:

No problem. I'll take care of it. All right, thanks. I'll take care of it through.

02:53:18 - 02:53:27 | Speaker 9:

Small Marketing. This is Renee speaking. How can I help you?

02:53:27 - 02:53:38 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, hi, Renee. Father Christmas here. Hello. How can I help you today? Just kidding. My name's Steve Reynolds, and I'm calling about the Santa job, the mall Santa job.

02:53:39 - 02:53:43 | Speaker 9:

Oh, okay, Chris. Unfortunately, we've already hired someone in for that position.

02:53:43 - 02:53:55 | Speaker 7:

I know, but you haven't met me yet. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a happy guy. I love people. I'm a little on the portly side, and I have a real white beard, so it kind of makes me a shoo-in. Check this out. I've been working on my ho-ho-hos.

02:53:55 - 02:54:05 | Speaker 9:

Ho-ho-ho. Well, Chris, I really appreciate your enthusiasm, but once again, we already hired someone for the position, but maybe next year.

02:54:05 - 02:54:12 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, but are they good? I mean, can they get through 1,600 kids in one shift? And I got my own Santa suit, too.

02:54:12 - 02:54:23 | Speaker 9:

I understand, but we hired someone that we thought would be competent, of course, so we think that they're good. That's why we hired them, but once again, I'm so glad that you're enthused about it, but the position's no longer available, okay?

02:54:24 - 02:54:32 | Speaker 7:

Well, to be honest with you, I kind of need to do this to work off some of my community service hours. That leaves me a little scared.

02:54:32 - 02:54:33 | Speaker 9:

What do you mean, community service?

02:54:33 - 02:54:42 | Speaker 7:

No, nothing. I mean, I'm just on probation. I got fired from my last Santa job. I had a situation, but it's good. You know, you learn from your past. I'm ready to move on.

02:54:42 - 02:54:45 | Speaker 9:

Okay. Well, unfortunately, you won't be able to move on.

02:54:45 - 02:54:56 | Speaker 7:

All right, I'll tell you what it is. What happened was one kid said to me, my daddy says you're not really Santa, so, you know, I don't need that s**t. So I said, hey, he's not really your daddy, s**t, and this year you ain't getting squat.

02:54:56 - 02:55:00 | Speaker 9:

Okay, the position is no longer available.

02:55:00 - 02:55:14 | Speaker 8:

But your boss, Julie, gave me your name because she said, I met her in the mall, and once she heard my resume, she realized I'd be perfect for it. I mean, it's not anyone that can just work in a warm mall under hot lights, dressed in a heavy coat, hat, and beard with fat kids sitting on you and smothering you to death.

02:55:14 - 02:55:23 | Speaker 9:

Okay, I understand, and I love your sales pitch and everything else, but once again, the position's no longer available. How about the Easter Bunny? No, well...

02:55:23 - 02:55:24 | Speaker 8:

I know you didn't hire the Easter Bunny yet.

02:55:24 - 02:55:27 | Speaker 9:

What in the world does that have to do with, what does that have to do with the holidays?

02:55:27 - 02:55:48 | Speaker 8:

Well, I'm just saying I'll get a jump start on spring if you already have a Christmas. No, I don't think so.

02:55:48 - 02:55:59 | Speaker 9:

That's inappropriate behavior. Maybe that's why you were dismissed the last time. And you could possibly go back to that old job if you hadn't done the things that you had done there. We certainly don't want you to do them here at our facility.

02:55:59 - 02:55:59 | Speaker 8:

02:55:59 - 02:56:00 | Speaker 9:

02:56:01 - 02:56:02 | Speaker 8:

What, are you Jewish or something?

02:56:03 - 02:56:12 | Speaker 9:

Okay. You don't like Christmas, is that it? Okay. You're wasting my time. You're wasting your time. And this is just not going to work for either one of us. Bye-bye.

02:56:15 - 02:56:20 | Speaker 7:

cabrategravir you never skip your spf and you carry hand sanitizer like an accessory but what are you doing for HIV prevention? One way to help protect yourself from HIV is APRITUDE, a prescription medicine used to reduce the risk of getting HIV in adults and adolescents weighing

02:57:51 - 02:58:28 | Speaker 5:

at least 77 pounds. You must be HIV negative to receive APRITUDE and get tested before each injection. If you think you're exposed to HIV or have flu-like symptoms, tell your doctor right away. More HIV testing may be needed. APRITUDE does not prevent other sexually transmitted infections. Practice safer sex to reduce your risk. Get APRITUDE as scheduled. Missing doses increases your HIV risk. Don't take APRITUDE if allergic to it or taking certain medicines that may interact. Tell your doctor about your medical conditions, liver problems, and mental health. Serious side effects include allergic reactions or rash, liver problems, and depression. If these occur, get medical help right away. The most common side effect is injection site reaction. Bring your A-game and talk to your doctor.
