Shannon is out this morning. Reese is running late. KP is out today. This is going to be a fun show. I got a chance to listen to the After the Jingle Ball show, which I will tell you might have been one of the most fun shows that this radio station's ever aired in the morning. It was so much fun to hear everybody in the studio. and it was fun to hear the recap of Jingle Ball. Listen to that on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcasts. But it was wild to get the post-Jingle Ball perspective and I didn't get a chance to actually talk about some of the crazy crap that was going on backstage at the Jingle Ball. So I want to talk about that coming up here in just a little bit. What do you got for a request? Get us something good, okay? And do me a favor. Have it be like long songs Do you have like long songs today Just because I just want to play a lot of music today I'm like really excited about that I thought about it this morning I felt good yesterday And I still feel like okay right now But I'm like I should have just taken another day Like why do I do this to myself You know

00:04:42 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 5:

Because you wanted to see me

00:04:44 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 2:

On my deathbed will I say I wish I took You know one more day of work off Or you know Would have worked one more day Probably not All right, let's get this thing started. Is Spike here today? Oh, I think he's over there. What are you doing? You haven't chimed in on anything. You got anything to chime in? in on? I'm just waiting for the throwbacks. All right, here we go, then. Let's go.

00:05:03 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 1:

Here we go. Hey, God, it's Friday. Is it Friday? All right. Countdown started.

00:05:07 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 3:

It's Mojo in the Morning. It's Mojo in the Morning. Mojo in the Morning.

00:05:17 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 1:

Oh, Megan, I might need you on this one.

00:05:19 - 00:05:20 | Unknown:

I got you.

00:05:21 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 1:

Go ahead. Ready? You start it.

00:05:22 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 3:

Welcome to the Mojo, the Mojo in the Morning Show. This is the Mojo, the Mojo in the Morning Show. It's all you. You're good. show is the mojo, the mojo in the morning show, it's gonna be the weekend, the mojo in the morning show. Hi Megan, I love you. Oh my god, that was fantastic. Give it up for Megan on that one.

00:05:43 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 4:

That was like amazing. I didn't even warm up this morning. That was like so good. Raw talent. Where do you get your energy?

00:05:50 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 1:

Coffee, Red Bull. And how have you two guys not gotten sick yet by everything that everybody else has gotten sick by? I don't know if you know this, but I'm actually better than everybody else is that what it is are you guys uh boosted triple boosted and

00:06:04 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 4:

like 12 times boosted yeah that and i spent many nights in in really bad bars that i'm sure is that

00:06:11 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 2:

what it is exactly what it is just telling everybody you just take your vitamins and drink lots of beer and nothing can survive inside this body no germs can lick toilet seats and this is

00:06:21 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 1:

what happens to you you guys you get to feel better oh yeah got it felt so oh you're doing When you turn the sound on the TV. Why did the sound go on on the TV when I just turned the TV on? Usually the sound never is on. I leave here for two days.

00:06:34 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 2:

I don't know, but look at that Tupperware set we can buy if we act now.

00:06:37 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 1:

I leave here for two days and this place is a mess. What's going on here? How come this thing changes here?

00:06:43 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 4:

That knife cuts through.

00:06:44 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 1:

I walked in and everything was changed around. I had to send a text to my son and said, did you move this? He goes, I promise you I didn't touch anything. um so uh yeah got got uh really sick uh jingle ball was fun but man i was not feeling good at jingle ball uh i was like knocked out i felt okay going down there i felt a little bit like i thought i was just tired because i had not slept at all the night before i could not sleep and um and then

00:07:13 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 2:

i got down there earlier than all of us because you were interviewing the backstreet boys yeah i

00:07:16 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 1:

was down there at three o'clock in the afternoon so I uh got there at three uh felt fine everything was okay and then all of a sudden and I did the interview everything was great actually uh Reese actually you have the video I don't know are you posting that somewhere or it's on

00:07:30 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 2:

YouTube or something oh which one Backstreet Boys was posted last night that's on the website and

00:07:35 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 1:

YouTube okay so you posted that if you look at it I look I look great everything's good everything's funny you know the energy is good and then all of a sudden I don't know what it was something just hit me and a uh and then when um kp and i did a worst to first uh last row upgrade i thought i was going to die i legit thought first off in a general sense i should never do that but when i don't feel well i definitely should not do that first off whoever built lca you're going to

00:08:10 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 4:

kill people that are up on that top level do you understand the steepness of those seats

00:08:16 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 1:

i for christ's sake i can't believe somebody hasn't fallen and died up there it's so it's

00:08:21 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 4:

so uh tall up there i was watching a wings game from up there and i thought i'm gonna puke on the person in front of me it's so i thought i was gonna puke on the goalie because you're

00:08:28 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 2:

you're that tall that you know they did all these studies to try and get everybody closer to the ice and not so far away and when you get higher they don't want you to get further but yeah it'll give you vertigo yeah yeah i went up there and i found out i only had 15 minutes to get up there and back because we were doing this the same you know worst row to first row and oh my gosh if i was so sweaty i yeah at first i was laughing at myself that i had different changes of clothes

00:08:55 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 1:

plus you guys made me all bring that ugly i brought that ugly christmas why did you bring

00:08:59 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 2:

so many changes of clothes can you explain that to me well i'm glad i did because i soaked through my clothes i needed to change after i went all the way up to the last row and then back down to

00:09:07 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 4:

the front row because i had to do it so fast try wearing two pairs of spanx under your outfit i was

00:09:12 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 2:

just unbelievable but mojo looked fine when i got there and then as the night went on finally like i think by the time we got off the stage the first time after the first act i said you okay because like you didn't look good you started to look lethargic yeah i well first off

00:09:28 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

the the if kp doesn't use the worst of first video i'm gonna be so pissed i reminded her twice because all i'm gonna say to her is i almost killed myself doing that goddamn thing all right so if you're not gonna use that video then i want to i want an explanation of that deal but secondly um spike on the last when we went up to go do the backstreet boys uh announcement i literally was dizzy i thought i was gonna i thought i was gonna hold you up so in after we We did the, after we did, you know.

00:10:00 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 2:

Everybody up on stage introduced everybody, which I was proud of myself that I was able to like shout out everybody on stage because honestly, I couldn't see who was on stage. I was seeing stars because I looked at one of the lights that were shining towards the stage and it completely threw me off. And then I got off. I walked out, got in the elevator, took the elevator up to the Huntington Plaza thing, got into an Uber and got home. I fell asleep in the back of the car. Like I felt I literally fell asleep. and um i was uh i was out in dr warner was great i text him before the end of the show he had meds waiting for me that's how amazing this guy is started up on medication um i feel a million times better i went to u of m yesterday to go see my uh my docs over at u of m they gave me the clean bill which they said you know you're gonna you're three days in on antibiotics so you're good and um and then they just told me they said that it was uh that it was you know They don't know specifically If it was flu or RSV But they said that I'm taking care of it

00:11:01 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 4:

But I'm mad at you Because you didn't tell me that you were sick And I remember the whole night going He's so mad at me And I went up to Spike and I go What did I do to Mojo? He's so mad at me And he was like no he's really sick And I had no idea

00:11:16 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 2:

Well how was I mad at you? I didn't even talk to you

00:11:19 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 4:

Well that's why I thought you were mad at me

00:11:21 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 2:

I tried to stay away from people Because I did not want to make anybody else get sick

00:11:26 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 4:

I literally, do you remember, I grabbed a spike by the arm And I was like, what did I do?

00:11:30 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 2:

Yeah Megan, what's going on? Listener Megan? I'm not mad at you, listener Megan How you doing?

00:11:38 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 1:

Good morning, how are you?

00:11:40 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 2:

Good, what's going on?

00:11:42 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 1:

I had a comment on your whole Little Caesar arena Comment about the seedings And somebody's going to like kill themselves

00:11:49 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 2:

The top row, yeah

00:11:51 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was at the Drake and Migos concert a few years ago, and I was at the top level, and I was wearing heels, and I completely fell down.

00:12:00 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. Oh, jeez. And I get so nervous.

00:12:04 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 5:

The barricades they have up, they made them glass so you could see what's going on the floor, but also they're only waist high. And I'm thinking, gosh, how did they know someone's not going to tumble over them?

00:12:15 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 1:

Why? Especially, you know, like they sell alcoholic beverages, too.

00:12:18 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 3:

Right.

00:12:19 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 1:

People are having a good time I'm trying to have a good time And I ended up fracturing my tailbone And it was a bad time

00:12:27 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 2:

I think that they did that So you get good angles to watch games And to watch concerts The problem though is You're looking down And honestly, I would be nauseous If I had too much to drink In your case

00:12:42 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 5:

Like Megan said, with alcohol too They built that place just at a time Where the Red Wings were really making me drink If I was at last night's game, 5-1 loss I'd be having a few pops along the way

00:12:52 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 2:

In a year or two when they're really good Imagine what things are going to be like there Those seats being full all the time Holy crap Thank you for the call I appreciate it

00:13:03 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 5:

Shannon got sick and KP got sick Were you guys kissing at the concert Or did I miss something

00:13:09 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 2:

That is very interesting I didn't really spend a lot of time with Shannon I did spend that time with KP

00:13:16 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 5:

Well, it didn't come from the jingle ball, you realize. Whatever you caught, you caught Thursday or Friday. Because the virus or bacteria is going to take a few days to fester before you see the symptoms.

00:13:26 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 2:

So what does that mean for you guys?

00:13:28 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I'm waiting.

00:13:29 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 5:

I don't know.

00:13:30 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 4:

I truly am waiting at this point.

00:13:32 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 2:

Is there something?

00:13:34 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 5:

If it was the flu, I got the flu shot. So hopefully that will take care of that.

00:13:37 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 4:

I need a can of Lysol, please.

00:13:40 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 2:

I'm running really late, so let me get to this. By the way, Taylor Swiftness, a chance for you to go see Taylor Swift coming up.

00:13:46 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 3:

How smart are you? It's Mojo in the mornings back in the day. We have to go back in time. Where we give you a bunch of events and you tell us what year it happened.

00:13:55 - 00:14:21 | Speaker 2:

We have, in just moments from now, Megan doing the dirty, which is always a pleasure. Oh my God. But first, a chance for you to win tickets to go to this weekend's Lions game. They're going to be taking on the Minnesota Vikings. This was the year that the United Nations announced that George Clooney was going to be one of their peace ambassadors. When you're in positions of privileged access, you're— I don't think that that's the clue. Is that from, like, yesterday or something? I don't know. Hold on a second.

00:14:21 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, that was yesterday. Oh, they didn't load in your clues.

00:14:24 - 00:14:50 | Speaker 2:

Oh, you know what? KP's out, so it didn't happen. All right, let me just give the clues out. The clues are the United Nations announced that George Clooney was going to be Peace Ambassador. The Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup, beating the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games. That might help you out. And Sexy Can I from Ray J was the big song. If you know the year, we will set you up with the prize. We'll be right back and grab a winner next.

00:14:50 - 00:14:53 | Speaker 3:

Let's go. Back in the day. What year did this stuff happen?

00:14:53 - 00:15:58 | Speaker 2:

All right. All three clues. I'm just going to give them to you. We're clues of things that happened. In the same year, if you know the year, we'll set you up with a prize. The United Nations announced that George Clooney was going to be a peace ambassador. The Red Wings won the Stanley Cup, beating the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games. And Sexy Can I was the big song. What year was that, Jacob? 2008. It was. Congratulations to you. We're setting you up with the prize. I want you to hang on the phone for just one second. We're going to set you up with tickets to go see the Lions take on the Minnesota Vikings. Did you see that the Lions are favored? in this game. Heck yeah, man, I can't believe it. They're playing a team that is number one in their conference. They also were undefeated just recently and probably will get the top seed in the NFC for the playoffs. The Lions are favored. Everywhere you look, even on ESPN, everybody's talking about how the Lions are the team to not play right now because they're so good. We're setting you up with those tickets. Enjoy, okay?

00:15:58 - 00:16:00 | Speaker 3:

Wait, what did you just say about the Lions? All right, thank you so much.

00:16:00 - 00:16:38 | Speaker 2:

They said that the Lions are so good, you don't want to play them. So they said their offense is that good. We have Taylor Swiftmas. We're giving you a chance to go see Taylor Swift. Text to win right now and listen. I was supposed to do this at 630, but obviously we're running late. Text Taylor to 95500 for a chance to win tickets to see Taylor Swift at Ford Field on June the 9th. Text Taylor to 95500. Good luck. I'll catch up and timing coming up here in just a little bit. As long as Megan is good to me on this.

00:16:38 - 00:17:09 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I knew this was coming. All right. I'll keep it short. Nick Carter has been accused of raping a minor in 2001. Shannon Roos is her name. She's now 39. And she's alleging that Nick Carter invited her onto his tour bus after a concert offered her drink that he called vip juice and then pulled down his pants and exposed himself before forcing himself on her now she is autistic and has cerebral palsy she was 17 at the time but she is also saying that he actually infected her with hpv here's what she had to say about this

00:17:09 - 00:17:21 | Speaker 1:

the last 21 years have been filled with pain confusion frustration shame and self-harm that are a direct result of Nick Carter raping me.

00:17:21 - 00:18:24 | Speaker 3:

She's actually not alone in this. Her attorney is saying that three other women named only as Jane Doe's in the case are named in a joint lawsuit alongside of Ruth. Now, Nick Carter is denying these allegations, and in a statement, his attorney is saying that this is entirely untrue. Also saying, unfortunately for several years now, Miss Ruth has been manipulated into making false allegations about Nick, and those allegations have changed repeatedly, and materially over time. No one should be fooled by a press sign orchestrated by an opportunistic lawyer. There is nothing to this claim whatsoever, which we have no doubt the courts will quickly realize. I'll tell you some of the repercussions of this case coming up next hour during the dirty. Brittany Greiner, who you may remember as the basketball player in a labor camp in Russia, she's been released as a part of a prisoner swap, which was captured on video. In the video, you can see that her hair has been cut off in October. That was the last time we saw her during a court hearing. She still had her long hair. She has been a prisoner in Russia since last February. Now, President Biden spoke about her release.

00:18:25 - 00:18:46 | Speaker 5:

Moments ago, standing together with her wife, Sherelle, in the Oval Office, I spoke with Brittany Greiner. She's safe. She's on a plane. She's on her way home. After months of being unjustly detained in Russia, held under intolerable circumstances, Brittany will soon be back in the arms of her loved ones, and she should have been there all along.

00:18:46 - 00:18:53 | Speaker 3:

There was a little bit of controversy around the prisoner swap because a lot of people are saying Paul Wheeling should have been a part of these discussions.

00:18:54 - 00:19:03 | Speaker 5:

Russia is treating Paul's case differently than Brittany's, and while we have not yet succeeded in securing Paul's release, we are not giving up. We will never give up.

00:19:04 - 00:19:09 | Speaker 3:

We actually heard from Paul about this and how he feels about not being involved in the swap.

00:19:09 - 00:19:59 | Speaker 4:

I would say that if a message could go to President Biden that, you know, this is a precarious situation that needs to be resolved quickly. And I would hope that he and his administration would do everything they could to get me home, regardless of the price they might have to pay at this point. I have to say I'm greatly disappointed that more has not been done to secure my release, especially as the four-year anniversary of my arrest is coming up. I was arrested for a crime that never occurred. I'm happy that Brittany is going home today and that Trevor went home when he did, but I don't understand why I'm still sitting here. My bags are packed. I'm ready to go home. I just needed

00:20:00 - 00:20:01 | Speaker 3:

an airplane to come and get me.

00:20:02 - 00:20:09 | Speaker 2:

The White House is saying that Russia is refusing to include him in negotiations for the prisoner swap, but that they are still working on the situation.

00:20:09 - 00:20:14 | Speaker 1:

Do you see the name of the guy that they prisoner swapped? The Merchant of Death.

00:20:14 - 00:20:15 | Unknown:

Oh my god.

00:20:16 - 00:20:18 | Speaker 2:

It's because he's an arms dealer, correct?

00:20:18 - 00:21:01 | Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, he was responsible for arming a lot of militias, drug cartels. They said that he was given arms, you know, hundreds of thousands of tens of thousands of them to uh to countries to to fight and i don't know it's interesting i i when i saw they i don't know if you watched any of the video but they were on the tarmac they passed each other the guy looked like he was like you know had like hanging out in club fed and everything was great britney griner looked like she had been through hell and i'm thinking to myself i'm like if i'm that guy i'd stay in American prison. Like, you know what I mean? Like, why go back? Why go to Russia? It looked like he actually aged well while he was

00:21:01 - 00:21:07 | Speaker 2:

in prison. Right. Well, let's you know what? Add one more thing to DJ Khaled's resume. Not only is he a

00:21:07 - 00:21:09 | Speaker 1:

rapper. You just did that right at the right time. You said another one.

00:21:09 - 00:21:10 | Unknown:

Did you see that?

00:21:10 - 00:22:02 | Speaker 2:

It's almost like I'm a professional. He's a producer. Add a model to the list, okay? He said back in August that he was collaborating with Rihanna's Savage by Fenty, and it has finally happened he was the subject of a fashion shoot for the brand supporting silk pajamas and a track suit he also rocked a pair of slippers personalized with his name while modeling in the loungewear he is the latest in a line of celebrities who have modeled for the brand i mean her brand is notorious for getting some really amazing people uh to just give their faces to her including so summer walker a whole bunch more but on social media he posted a video taken from behind the scenes of the shoot saying, I got Team Rihanna and Team Fenty in the building. I got the tailors from Fenty. I got my tailor. We got tailors from Italy. We're doing a top secret shoot. I got Rihanna's people in my house. This is my house, and Rihanna's team is at my house.

00:22:02 - 00:22:06 | Speaker 1:

Would you wear clothes that were produced or designed by DJ Khaled?

00:22:06 - 00:22:08 | Speaker 2:

No, but Fenty, yes.

00:22:08 - 00:22:15 | Speaker 1:

See, I would. I would. You want to know why? Why? He knows how to make full-size clothes for a guy like my size. So it would be perfect.

00:22:27 - 00:22:58 | Speaker 1:

Mojo in the Morning show, you probably have heard the news that there's like a Santa shortage. Just like everything else, there's a shortage of pretty much anything these days. But now there's a shortage of old men who look like Santa Claus that could play Santa's helpers. And Spike is going to try to help out with a phone scam this morning. So what if Spike applied for a job as a Santa's helper? Renee works in mall management at one of our local malls, and we'll see how she plays along with a phone scam this morning.

00:22:58 - 00:23:08 | Speaker 3:

We will, we will scam you. Sorry, it's a catchy song. It's your home of phone scams. Mojo in the morning.

00:23:11 - 00:23:13 | Speaker 7:

Good morning, mall. This is Kevin speaking. How may I help you?

00:23:14 - 00:23:15 | Speaker 4:

Hey, is Renee there, please?

00:23:15 - 00:23:18 | Speaker 7:

Ooh, sorry. She's not available right now. Can I put you through to her voicemail?

00:23:19 - 00:23:21 | Speaker 4:

She's not around. I can't talk to her real quick.

00:23:21 - 00:23:26 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, she's in a meeting right now. I'm not supposed to disturb her. I can put you through her voicemail. She'll get back to this afternoon.

00:23:26 - 00:23:27 | Speaker 4:

It is Kevin, is it?

00:23:28 - 00:23:28 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, it is.

00:23:28 - 00:23:34 | Speaker 4:

Kevin and Spike. I'm with the Mojo on the morning show, but don't say that out loud. But I was asked to phone scam her.

00:23:34 - 00:23:40 | Speaker 7:

Oh, oh, okay. Can you put us through to her? Can you put us... Yeah, I can get her. Can you hold on just a sec? I'll hold you to her.

00:23:40 - 00:23:47 | Speaker 3:

Hey, dude, dude. Yeah. Don't say anything to her, okay? Okay. It's a real important phone call. She has to grab it.

00:23:47 - 00:23:49 | Speaker 7:

No problem. I'll take care of it. All right. Thanks.

00:24:01 - 00:24:03 | Speaker 6:

Small marketing. This is Renee speaking.

00:24:03 - 00:24:14 | Speaker 4:

How can I help you? Yeah. Hi, Renee. Father Christmas here. Hello. How can I help you today? Just kidding. My name's Steve Reynolds, and I'm calling about the Santa job, the mall Santa job.

00:24:16 - 00:24:20 | Speaker 6:

Oh, okay, Chris. Unfortunately, we've already hired someone in for that position.

00:24:20 - 00:24:32 | Speaker 4:

I know, but you haven't met me yet. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a happy guy. I love people. I'm a little on the portly side, and I have a real white beard, so it kind of makes me a shoe-in. Check this out. I've been working on my ho-ho-hos.

00:24:32 - 00:24:42 | Speaker 5:

Ho, ho, ho. Well, Chris, I really appreciate your enthusiasm, but once again, we already hired someone for the position, but maybe next year.

00:24:42 - 00:24:49 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, but are they good? I mean, can they get through 1,600 kids in one shift? And I got my own Santa suit, too.

00:24:49 - 00:24:59 | Speaker 5:

I understand, but we hired someone that we thought would be competent, of course. So we think that they're good. That's why we hired them. But once again, I'm so glad that you're enthused about it, but the position is no longer available.

00:25:00 - 00:25:19 | Speaker 3:

okay? Well, to be honest with you, I kind of need to do this to work off some of my community service hours. That leaves me a little scared. What do you mean community service? No, nothing. I mean, I'm just on probation. I just got, I got fired from my last Santa job. I had a situation, but it's good. You know, you learn from your past. I'm ready to move on.

00:25:19 - 00:25:23 | Speaker 5:

Okay. Well, unfortunately, you won't be able to move on. Alright, I'll tell you what it is.

00:25:23 - 00:25:33 | Speaker 3:

What happened was one kid said to me, my daddy says you're not really Santa, so, you know, I don't need that s***. So I said, Hey, he's not really your daddy, and this year you ain't getting squat.

00:25:34 - 00:25:37 | Speaker 5:

Okay, the position is no longer available.

00:25:37 - 00:25:51 | Speaker 3:

But your boss, Julie, gave me your name because she said, I met her in the mall, and once she heard my resume, she realized I'd be perfect for it. I mean, it's not anyone that can just work in a warm mall under hot lights, dressed in a heavy coat, hat, and beard with fat kids sitting on you and smothering you to death.

00:25:51 - 00:25:59 | Speaker 5:

Okay, I understand, and I love yourself pitching everything up, but once again, the position is no longer available. How about the Easter Bunny? No, well.

00:25:59 - 00:26:01 | Speaker 3:

I know you didn't hire the Easter Bunny yet.

00:26:01 - 00:26:04 | Speaker 5:

What does that have to do with the holidays?

00:26:04 - 00:26:07 | Speaker 3:

Well, I'm just saying I'll get a jump start on spring if you already have a Christmas.

00:26:09 - 00:26:10 | Speaker 5:

No, I don't think so.

00:26:10 - 00:26:20 | Speaker 3:

I just need a break where I can hang out, where there's good smoke breaks. A smoke break around children? Are you kidding me? Well, I mean, I wouldn't smoke near the kids. That got me in trouble last time.

00:26:20 - 00:26:37 | Speaker 5:

I was blowing smoke rings out of my tracheotomy hole and just scaring the kids. That's inappropriate behavior. Maybe that's why you were dismissed the last time. and you could possibly go back to that old job if you hadn't done the things that you had done there. We certainly don't want you to do them here at our facility. Renee. Okay? Yes.

00:26:38 - 00:26:39 | Speaker 3:

What, are you Jewish or something?

00:26:40 - 00:26:49 | Speaker 5:

Okay. You don't like Christmas, is that it? Okay. You're wasting my time. You're wasting your time. And this is just not going to work for either one of us. Bye-bye.

00:26:52 - 00:26:57 | Speaker 1:

Renee? Should we dial her back? Absolutely we should.

00:26:59 - 00:27:10 | Speaker 3:

this is renee how can i help you hey i forgot to ask you when i show up monday

00:27:10 - 00:27:15 | Speaker 5:

00:27:15 - 00:27:32 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, maybe we are. Really? Watching the mic there. Mike, have you ever picked a lock before?

00:38:26 - 00:38:30 | Speaker 3:

Why do you ask that question as if you don't know the answer? I agree.

00:38:31 - 00:38:34 | Speaker 5:

Because I've learned you always ask questions that you know the answer to.

00:38:35 - 00:38:49 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. They're up there. I can see the kids getting ready, and I bet she does have her phone either on mute or off because they're moving around up there. So we're knocking and trying to call.

Oh, my God. Oh, my God. we're going back to the front we're moving back to the front door now

00:40:05 - 00:40:11 | Speaker 7:

my kids by the way you get like some steps in don't you doing this oh yeah absolutely

00:40:11 - 00:40:16 | Speaker 2:

at least 12 000 a day she's coming i see the light

00:40:16 - 00:40:41 | Speaker 1:

all right it's great because we never know if these families are listeners or not a lot of times they might not even know who mike is at first we're just here to help the people that need it most yeah but when you see the face on someone and you realize they've been listening to these wishes for years and then they see mike at their door oh it's another level we should have maybe just talked to her then i bet she changed yeah i was just thinking she's now quickly putting

00:40:41 - 00:40:48 | Speaker 7:

on an outfit all right well we want to make sure we want to make sure she's comfortable so

00:40:48 - 00:41:00 | Speaker 2:

all right we woke up the neighbors here she comes she's got a little one in her arms and the rest of the family's walking down the

00:41:00 - 00:41:12 | Speaker 6:

stairs good morning you guys i thought you were just some random guy i was like at first they open it i'm like and then i close i was like oh my god good morning good morning why is i here

00:41:13 - 00:41:17 | Speaker 2:

Is it what I think it is? Hold on one second. We'll explain that. All right, Mojo, go ahead.

00:41:18 - 00:41:20 | Speaker 7:

Hey, good morning. How are you, Marie?

00:41:21 - 00:41:24 | Speaker 6:

I'm so good, Mojo. Marie, how are you?

00:41:24 - 00:42:03 | Speaker 7:

I'm doing great, and I'm so happy that this morning we're going to be talking to you and your beautiful family. We received a letter for our Mojo in the Morning Breaking and Entering Christmas wish program about you. And I want to play for you this letter because your beautiful mom and your, of course, proud grandma read this letter and was struggling and was making all of us cry because she just wants to grant a wish for you guys this holiday season. She's so proud of you. Take a listen. All right? Here you go. Take a listen.

00:42:03 - 00:42:15 | Speaker 4:

Dear Mojo in the morning, my name is Amy, and I'm writing to you about my daughter Marie. Marie is an incredible mom to my five beautiful grandchildren, David, Kelly, Electa, Laidrion, and Broly.

00:42:16 - 00:42:23 | Speaker 3:

Me and the kids have had a rough go of it. Marie was in some severely, extremely toxic relationship, and I'm going to cry.

00:42:24 - 00:42:26 | Speaker 7:

I know you are. That's okay. We're crying with you.

00:42:27 - 00:42:31 | Speaker 3:

I'm sorry. Kind of a family plan, you know?

00:42:31 - 00:42:34 | Speaker 7:

Listen, I feel like I'm part of the family. I'm crying with you.

00:42:35 - 00:44:18 | Speaker 4:

Okay, thanks. She dedicated her time to working for her family and being the best mom that she could be. My granddaughter, Adriana, was born at 23 weeks. She was in the NICU for five minutes straight. We was there every day. It caused a lot of emotional and financial tension in the house at that time, and that's when she started struggling. and she was no longer working because she needed to be with that baby. My grandson Broly also has health problems, and we were trying to take care of him, and she was also trying to protect her children from a man that she was in a relationship at the time. They were finally able to get away. However, he took everything and pretty much destroyed or sold everything he could. He's in prison at this time. I watch Marie work so hard to pick up the pieces, and she never gives up. She's a real fighter, and I admire her for that. She's a very hardworking single mom, and she's trying to do it on her own. She's had to live in shelters in the past, and she's lived with friends. And recently, she just got a small apartment, which is really very cool for her and her kids. It's not much, but they make it work, and they're just grateful they can be together at that point. She donates plasma to get extra money to buy groceries, and the kids are needing some clothing at this time. I just wish this would give her a little light at the end of her tunnel, and I believe it will. Mojo, I just want them to have a Christmas to remember. I want to see my daughter smile again, and I wish she smiles, but smile a little more. Thank you, guys. Love you. Sincerely, Amy Norris.

00:44:18 - 00:44:22 | Speaker 3:

Amy, you did great. Thank you. Wow

00:44:22 - 00:44:39 | Speaker 5:

Isn't that beautiful Thank you

00:44:39 - 00:44:54 | Speaker 7:

Hey I want you to know Marie Marie there are no greater words That could come out of a Mouth of anybody than to hear your parents talk about how proud they are of you.

00:44:55 - 00:44:58 | Speaker 5:

I know. It really is. Thank you, Mom.

00:44:58 - 00:45:00 | Speaker 7:

And the struggles that you...

00:45:00 - 00:45:15 | Speaker 1:

you have been through to not give up and to keep it together for those beautiful children has honestly been an inspiration for us this holiday season because I got to tell you, there are so many of our listeners going through what you're going through right now.

00:45:15 - 00:45:24 | Speaker 4:

I know there's a lot of people struggling. I just, you guys, thank you so much for coming. I don't know, but thank you.

00:45:24 - 00:45:26 | Speaker 3:

I'm just, we're not done yet. We're not done yet.

00:45:26 - 00:45:39 | Speaker 4:

I'm just shaking like I am, I don't know. I love you guys. Like, seriously, the fact that you do this for families like us when we're in a time of need, like, that's such a beautiful thing. Thank you, guys.

00:45:39 - 00:45:45 | Speaker 1:

Well, Mike, do you want to tell Marie everything that we have in store for her this morning?

00:45:46 - 00:46:14 | Speaker 3:

Marie, I don't know if you've seen the front porch here yet, but we have full of gifts for you and your family. Go, come on, guys. Come check it out. Come check it out. These are all for you, including for mom, a $200 gift card to Target, a blender, kitchen set. I know. Then where is – is it Calais?

00:46:14 - 00:46:15 | Speaker 4:

Calais.

00:46:15 - 00:46:46 | Speaker 3:

Calais. All right, Calais. We have for you – how old are you, 12? Yeah. You're 12 years old. I hear you want an iPad. Yeah? Yeah. We got an iPad just for you. Oh, my God. Thank you. You are so welcome. Merry Christmas. Merry, early Christmas. That's right. Oh, my God. And where's David? Right here. David, you're 14? Yeah. Let's get you something, too. How about a brand-new TV? Where's that TV? You had Tim Fagan holding the TV right now.

00:46:46 - 00:46:48 | Speaker 1:

Tim, our boss. Yeah.

00:46:48 - 00:46:49 | Speaker 3:

That is for you.

00:46:49 - 00:46:56 | Speaker 1:

David, we heard that you want your own TV. You would like to have your own TV. You have to fight for TV time, so we want to make sure you have that.

00:46:57 - 00:46:57 | Speaker 4:

See?

00:46:57 - 00:47:23 | Speaker 1:

On top of that, we want to make sure that you have everything to keep you guys warm through the Christmas holidays and the winter. So we want to make sure we're clothing you guys with all the hats and the gloves and, you know, the red coats that keep you warm in the West Michigan weather. But we also want you guys to have fun. And, Mike, we keep going because there's a lot of kids here today.

00:47:24 - 00:47:53 | Speaker 3:

Am I saying that correctly? Yes? Okay. Let's get you, how about an Amazon Fire Tablet? Does that sound pretty good? The last speak list. An Aldrian? Aldrian, that is such a pretty name. How old are you? Yeah, what's your, if you could pick one present, your favorite present, anything from Santa, what would you ask him for? A tablet. A tablet?

00:47:54 - 00:48:19 | Speaker 1:

We got that. We'll get that for you, you bet. Absolutely, we do. Yeah. And I understand, Eldriana, that you're also a Barbie fan. Is that true? Are you a Barbie? You like Barbie? Yeah. We did some fun shopping. Actually made sure that you had everything you needed Barbie-wise. So we're going to make sure that you've got your Barbie club playset, your Barbie fantasy hair doll.

00:48:21 - 00:48:21 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:48:22 - 00:48:23 | Speaker 3:

What do you think, Mom?

00:48:23 - 00:48:24 | Speaker 4:

Thank you.

00:48:24 - 00:48:31 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. And, Marie, we didn't forget about sweet Broly. How's Broly doing, by the way?

00:48:31 - 00:48:39 | Speaker 4:

He's right here. He's doing okay. He actually just got out of the hospital the other day. Yeah. So, yeah. He's doing it.

00:48:40 - 00:48:41 | Speaker 2:

Look at those curls.

00:48:41 - 00:48:43 | Speaker 4:

I know. Curls for the girls.

00:48:43 - 00:48:57 | Speaker 2:

Well, Amy, for you and the whole family, we got everybody new coats, hats, gloves, new pillows, all the things you need for the house, and even a Christmas tree. because we want to make sure you celebrate the happiness.

00:48:58 - 00:49:00 | Speaker 4:

I love Christmas mojo.

00:49:01 - 00:49:02 | Speaker 1:

Hey, can I ask you?

00:49:02 - 00:49:07 | Speaker 4:

I am like a Christmas fanatic. I haven't been able to do it. Yeah, she is. Yeah, she's kind of rough here.

00:49:07 - 00:49:15 | Speaker 1:

Can I ask you, with being a Christmas fanatic, what were the plans for this Christmas? What were you going to try to do if you didn't hear from us?

00:49:16 - 00:49:23 | Speaker 4:

This Christmas, I was not going to be able to get my kids a Christmas. So, thank you very much.

00:49:23 - 00:49:55 | Speaker 1:

Well, we want you to have this Christmas, and we also want you to have everything that you need for your house. And it's through help of great people like our friends over at Comcast Xfinity who want to provide you and your family with a computer to keep your family connected so that you guys are always there connected and making sure that the digital divide doesn't happen, that you guys are actually always online. and i don't know what financially you got going on but i can just assume that it's not great right

00:49:55 - 00:49:59 | Speaker 4:

00:50:00 - 00:50:06 | Speaker 8:

is going to write you a check for $3,500 to put into your bank account so that you can do whatever you want with that.

00:50:07 - 00:50:24 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God, Mojo. Thank you so much. Thank you guys so much. Seriously, thank you. This is such a blessing. God is so good. Like, I have been praying about this. I promise you not. Like, praying, what am I going to do for Christmas? What am I going to do for Christmas? And I just, like, I don't know.

00:50:25 - 00:51:06 | Speaker 2:

When you came to the door, you said, you're such a fan. You're such a fan. I'm such a fan of you guys. We're a fan of you. Well, thank you. What you've been through and what you did for your family, like your parents said, we're proud of you. For your mom to say that, because anybody can find themselves in an abusive domestic situation. It can happen to anyone, but you're not alone. You deserve to be safe. You deserve to be happy. and you made some really tough choices to break that cycle and protect your kids and we just are here to say you did the right thing and we want to help you get back on your feet and make sure those kids have an amazing Christmas that they deserve

00:51:06 - 00:51:09 | Speaker 6:

thank you again so much Spike

00:51:09 - 00:51:14 | Speaker 8:

hey kids are you excited is this Christmas that's come early

00:51:14 - 00:51:16 | Speaker 4:

00:51:16 - 00:51:33 | Speaker 5:

I'm just sitting here I don't know what to do I don't know how to react I wasn't expecting you guys to cheer this morning. You're doing just fine. You're doing great. I'm like, are you ready for school? And then my door, bang, bang, bang. I'm like, what's going on?

00:51:33 - 00:51:34 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, sorry for the nod.

00:51:36 - 00:51:47 | Speaker 8:

Mike, can we get a little Christmas celebration going just so that the entire apartment complex will know that Mojo in the Morning is out at their home today?

00:51:48 - 00:52:00 | Speaker 7:

Absolutely. We're going to wake your neighbors again. Cecily, why don't you do me a favor? Why don't you start off the Merry Christmas for me, okay? Everybody say Merry Christmas. We're going to count down. Will you count down to three, two, one for me, and we'll say Merry Christmas?

00:52:00 - 00:52:09 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Three, two, one. Merry Christmas! Thank you to you guys so much.

00:52:10 - 00:52:13 | Speaker 8:

00:53:23 - 00:54:00 | Speaker 1:

Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys has been accused of raping a minor back in 2001. Shannon Ruth, who's now 39, is alleging that Nick Carter invited her onto his tour bus after a concert, offered her a drink that he called VIP juice, pulled out his pants, exposed himself before forcing himself on her. She was 17 at the time. And because of these allegations, the Backstreet Boys Christmas special has actually been pulled by ABC. It was supposed to air on December 14th, but it is actually no longer listed on ABC's holiday specials guide.

00:54:01 - 00:54:35 | Speaker 8:

Can I play for you guys a piece of audio? It's very quick, but it's part of my interview that I did with them. As I'm talking to them backstage and I am having a great time interviewing them. They were very nice people. Well, I asked that or I said this about them because of how nice everything was going. This is prior to this allegation that has now come out, which obviously we all know that, you know, we have to wait for and see what happens in the courts and all the rest of that stuff. But listen to this. You know, it's funny. You cannot find a scandal about you guys is like dads or anything.

00:54:35 - 00:54:38 | Speaker 2:

Well, there you go.

00:54:38 - 00:54:39 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, you did.

00:54:39 - 00:54:43 | Speaker 2:

This is your fault. There you go. So I jinxed.

00:54:43 - 00:55:00 | Speaker 8:

them into no i this obviously was going on i reading uh what's going on the reports of this and reading what uh nick's attorneys are saying i because i said wow this is you know 20 some years ago but supposedly uh according to the attorney

00:55:00 - 00:55:07 | Speaker 2:

she has been in contact with their people for years now. This has been going back and forth.

00:55:07 - 00:55:50 | Speaker 3:

I think the difference is she's not alone this time. There are three other women that are going to be coming forward with her. You know, speaking of ABC, they are now diving deeper into the relationship between Amy Roback and TJ Holmes. And this is all to make sure that their romance didn't violate any company policies. Now, they are having their lawyers make sure that they didn't breach their contract, like using company resources like vehicles or drivers or pressuring their coworkers into keeping their relationship a secret. Now, some of the staff were very mad when ABC News President Kim Goodwin said that the pair didn't violate company policies. So they were actually pressured into an investigation into the two a little bit deeper. And we still don't know the results of that right now.

00:55:51 - 00:55:51 | Speaker 2:

They'll be back.

00:55:52 - 00:55:53 | Speaker 3:

Oh, first.

00:55:53 - 00:56:04 | Speaker 2:

I watched Good Morning America yesterday because I was out sick yesterday. And I watched And they have no correspondence right now They literally used like The same people on 12 stories in a row

00:56:04 - 00:56:07 | Speaker 1:

And here's Kevin He's like all sweaty

00:56:07 - 00:56:14 | Speaker 2:

They were as undermanned as we are right now Ours was flu Theirs was fooling around with each other

00:56:14 - 00:56:28 | Speaker 1:

But it makes me wonder If ABC has more information And knows there's something else going on Because to remove them They risk a lawsuit from them And everything for hurting their reputations So it makes me wonder Or what else do they know that we don't know?

00:56:28 - 00:56:41 | Speaker 2:

Well, I also believe, too, that when stuff like this happens like this, and it's happened before at other networks. I know it happened at Fox News. Then what it does is it makes every other person feel like, all right, now I can finally come forward. Right. Right, exactly.

00:56:41 - 00:56:46 | Speaker 3:

What you're saying is that ABC is hiring and they need to call me.

00:56:46 - 00:56:48 | Speaker 2:

You have the resume. Go do it.

00:56:48 - 00:57:01 | Speaker 3:

I do. I do. Anything to get away from Mojo. You're welcome. I'm sorry. You know I love you. I only give crap to the people that I like. If I was respectful towards you, that's when we should be worried.

00:57:01 - 00:57:06 | Speaker 2:

I stayed away from you at Jingle Ball and wanted to go up and give you a big old kiss to give you what I had.

00:57:06 - 00:57:32 | Speaker 3:

Thank you. Appreciate it. Appreciate it. Kanye West has lost a lot the past couple of weeks, and I would say deservedly so, from friends to business deals. But now he's losing an honorary college degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In a letter, the school said that they were rescinding the degree because of his anti-black, anti-Semitic, and incendiary statements. I'm sorry, but I'm really proud of myself for reading incendiary properly the first time.

00:57:32 - 00:57:37 | Speaker 2:

That was actually pretty good. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hey, good morning, America people. I can read. She can do hard news stories.

00:57:39 - 00:57:49 | Speaker 3:

Particularly those directed at black and Jewish communities, they said are disgusting and condemnable. You know, we couldn't be perfect, but we tried. We tried, we tried. You know what?

00:57:49 - 00:57:51 | Speaker 1:

Give her credit. Now we got to take it away.

00:57:51 - 00:58:02 | Speaker 3:

B for effort. Kanye also has some opinions on who his ex-wife Kim Kardashian should be hooking up with next. Recently single, and I say that with a question mark, Tom Brady.

00:58:03 - 00:58:07 | Speaker 2:

Would that be an amazing power couple, huh? Tom Brady and Kim Kardashian together?

00:58:07 - 00:58:18 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to go out on a limb right now and say that A, she doesn't want any advice from Kanye right now. And B, the lowest on that list would probably be dating advice.

00:58:18 - 00:58:36 | Speaker 2:

Everybody likes to accept, you know, a little hookup. Hey, you know, I'd like to introduce you. We'll do a little introduction here, you know. Tom Brady would be great with Kim Kardashian. I got a feeling that Tom Brady, for some reason, is going to date, like, really young. I think he's going to go, like.

00:58:36 - 00:58:41 | Speaker 3:

No, because he's still dating his wife. He's going to go. Giselle.

00:58:41 - 00:58:44 | Speaker 2:

He's going to go to the Hadid's. No. You watch.

00:58:44 - 00:58:49 | Speaker 3:

No, he's going to stay with Giselle, and they're going to protect her money. You watch. Okay, you want one more?

00:58:50 - 00:58:53 | Speaker 2:

Listen, you're the one calling the shots on this one here. What do you got?

00:58:54 - 00:58:59 | Speaker 3:

Let's talk about the royal family really fast because we have to talk about the documentary that dropped on Netflix.

00:58:59 - 00:59:01 | Speaker 2:

I haven't watched it yet. Is it worth watching?

00:59:01 - 01:00:00 | Speaker 3:

It is so worth watching. Did I binge all three episodes? Yes, I did. So an insider to the British royal family confirmed that they are breathing a sigh of relief after the first episode of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Harry and Meghan dropped on Netflix without revealing anything new or would have them worried too much. Okay. here's what I think about this. A, did this rep actually watch the series or does Netflix UK have a different schedule than Netflix US? Because there wasn't one episode that dropped. There were three. And the first episode doesn't talk about the royal family in a negative way at all. It's kind of just the background on how Harry and Meghan got together. But they dive pretty deep into issues with racism that they faced not only in the UK, but inside of the family as well. What was interesting was that Meghan Markle said that she was never actually treated like a black woman until she started dating Harry. Very different to be a minority but not be treated as a minority.

01:00:00 - 01:00:16 | Speaker 1:

minority right off the bat obviously now people are very aware of my race because they made it such an issue when I went to the UK but before that most people didn't treat me like a black woman so that talk didn't have to happen for me what was also funny during this uh docuseries

01:00:16 - 01:00:25 | Speaker 4:

that popped up was an interview Meghan Markle did back in 2015 where she was asked Prince William Or Prince Harry Prince William Or Prince Harry

01:00:25 - 01:00:31 | Speaker 1:

I don't know Harry Harry Sure

01:00:31 - 01:00:37 | Speaker 4:

What's funny enough Is they met Six months later And she had to reassure him I choose you Harry

01:00:37 - 01:01:00 | Speaker 3:

I saw a clip yesterday While I was watching Your new Employer GMA They played They played a clip Of Where they said That if Harry And Meghan Never got together that Meghan believes that her dad would still be in her life. And I didn't get that. I didn't understand it. I guess it's from the documentary.

01:01:00 - 01:01:00 | Speaker 4:

Okay, so funny.

01:01:01 - 01:01:10 | Speaker 3:

And I don't understand that because her dad looks like a nutcase, right? And her dad went all nutty out, but her dad went crazier, they said, after they got together and the whole royals were part of this thing.

01:01:10 - 01:01:44 | Speaker 4:

It wasn't even they got together. They deep-dived into how the press really works in the UK when it deals with the royal family. And it's very interesting to see, like, how that network actually works and how William and Harry were essentially born into a contract with the press to be exploited their entire lives. And they're the first royals that grew up in that system under that contract and how it's affected them. But Meghan apparently had a pretty OK relationship with her dad until he was being paid by these tabloids to put out fake stories. And that's what really put a divide in them.

01:01:44 - 01:01:46 | Speaker 3:

Well, I'm not watching this. I'm not going to watch it.

01:01:46 - 01:01:47 | Speaker 4:

I'm shocked.

01:01:47 - 01:01:52 | Speaker 3:

I want to watch that Wednesday. Wednesday is great. It's so good. I'm watching that instead. It's so good. That seems more interesting.

01:02:17 - 01:02:23 | Speaker 3:

You got $100 cash, and you're now qualified for $10,000, Shonda.

01:02:23 - 01:02:32 | Speaker 2:

$10,000. Oh, my God. Thank you. Keep those prayers going, because we're less than a week from announcing the $10,000 winner. Okay.

01:02:32 - 01:02:33 | Speaker 3:

Yes.

01:02:33 - 01:02:34 | Speaker 2:

Sign me up.

01:02:34 - 01:02:41 | Speaker 3:

You got it. We just did. There you go. Hold on one second, Shonda. We're going to get your information. Stay there, okay?

01:02:42 - 01:02:42 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

01:02:42 - 01:03:09 | Speaker 3:

All right. Don't go anywhere. Another chance for you to win coming up at 830 this morning. We do have the Throwback Throwdown coming up at 8 o'clock. We have Taylor Swiftmas. You can win Taylor Swift tickets coming up at 9.30, so be ready for that. It's Mojo in the morning show. So, Spike, it's like my biggest pet peeve. If you go shopping at a store, you get home with all your stuff, and then this happens to you?

01:03:10 - 01:03:13 | Speaker 2:

The exploding security tag was still on the sweater I bought.

01:03:13 - 01:03:14 | Speaker 4:

Oh, no.

01:03:14 - 01:03:25 | Speaker 2:

Do those things really explode? Do they really? From my understanding, if you try to pry it off and break it off yourself, there's blue or purple dye inside that will ruin the outfit.

01:03:25 - 01:03:29 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I always thought that was just a myth. I thought it was just a sensor. Some of them are just an electric sensor.

01:03:29 - 01:03:33 | Speaker 2:

But the bigger ones, the big fat ones, they're full of juicy badness.

01:03:34 - 01:03:37 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, the ones that look like a cone on one side have ink inside of them.

01:03:37 - 01:03:40 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. It's kind of, what were you buying, by the way? What was it?

01:03:40 - 01:04:55 | Speaker 2:

It was one of my ugly Christmas sweaters. Wait, they put a sensor on that thing? They thought that thing was going to get stolen. $65 for this stupid thing. Oh, my God. So originally my thought was, I'll just wear it on stage, 15 minutes, return it. Because you were asking, why did I have changes of clothing backstage? Because I was like, I'm only going to wear it for the picture, for the one stage announcement, return it. But after this fiasco, so, I mean, apparently it happens all the time. Because I thought I could just go back to the store and they'll take it off. People are like, yeah, just take it back. It happens a lot. well i took it to the store and they asked me when i walked in to see the receipt for the item i didn't have the receipt i was like well i just brought it you i just bought it yesterday and i realized when i got home so well they thought i stole it they're like you just walked in because the the sweater i carried in was right by the front door so by the time i get all the way back to the register they think i just picked it off the wall and took it to the and like yeah i bought this yesterday and they're like where's the receipt i'm like oh crap i didn't bring the receipt thank god a girl came from the back of the store after a few minutes of us talking and she recognized me immediately from selling the sweater yeah she's like she's like oh some guy bought this thing can you believe it she's like well she was too busy laughing at the fact that

01:04:55 - 01:05:19 | Speaker 3:

you bought that sweater that she forgot to take the sensor off probably probably because we spent the 10 minutes i bought it we spent trying to figure out how to turn the lights on and off and she had the thing inside out we're looking for a switch and we realized there is no way to turn this ugly christmas sweater off it's motion sensor so when you move the the lights blink and it's like that forever so anyway imagine me getting arrested over an ugly christmas sweater

01:05:19 - 01:06:03 | Speaker 1:

and i would have to put it on for the police mugshot can i tell you that chelsea has a sweater that we bought in Chicago. And we were at one of the stores downtown. I don't know if it was in one of the Nordstrom or whatever. And she came back with it with the receipt to the store that we have locally. And they wouldn't take the thing off. They said you had to go back to the original place where you bought it. And she had the receipt and everything. So she has just worn that sweater. And it's funny because we will go to places and if they have a similar like sensor system, she goes off all the time when she walks out of the thing yeah and so she'll just keep the receipt inside of her sweater pocket there well here's the security flaw it didn't go off when i left

01:06:03 - 01:06:25 | Speaker 3:

the store oh geez right so like i got home and realized this thing but then that's because somebody told me it's not one of the electric ones it's one of the old dye ones that explodes when you open it so i was like okay great and then people are saying it happens all the time and the problem is not every store is the same system with the same key to unlock it and so you can't Just go somewhere. You do have to go all the way back to the place you bought it.

01:06:25 - 01:06:29 | Speaker 4:

Do I tell people how to do it without going back to the place, or does that make me a part of the problem?

01:06:29 - 01:06:38 | Speaker 3:

Well, there are a lot of YouTube ways that they tell you how to do it, but it's hard. I was afraid to do it. I was like, I don't want to ruin it because then I can't wear it and I can't get my money back.

01:06:38 - 01:06:38 | Speaker 1:

What are you talking about?

01:06:38 - 01:06:50 | Speaker 5:

This is going to make me the bad person because I'm going to teach you how to get rid of them. But if you just throw the item of clothing in the freezer for a couple of hours, it freezes the ink, and then you don't have to worry about it spilling on your clothes. You can break it.

01:06:50 - 01:06:51 | Speaker 1:

And then you cut it off?

01:06:51 - 01:06:53 | Speaker 5:

And then it will dye your clothes.

01:06:54 - 01:06:59 | Speaker 1:

Am I the bad guy? I thought you had, like, one of those devices at home that you just took from a store or something.

01:06:59 - 01:07:04 | Speaker 5:

Or what the real device is. It's just a really strong magnet. You could go to Lowe's and get it.

01:07:04 - 01:07:05 | Speaker 1:

What's up, Beth?

01:07:07 - 01:07:19 | Speaker 2:

That exact thing happened to my daughter. Two homecomings, like her junior and freshman year of high school. Oh, my gosh. Got them home. She tried them on, and it looked like we stole it.

01:07:20 - 01:07:22 | Speaker 3:

Wow. And what did you do? Did you have to go back to the stores?

01:07:23 - 01:07:29 | Speaker 2:

Had to take them back to the stores with the receipt, show them the receipt. It didn't even make the noise going off or anything.

01:07:30 - 01:07:35 | Speaker 5:

My question is, who holds on to receipts? That right there is what's mind-boggling to me.

01:07:35 - 01:07:38 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I always do. Well, mainly because nothing ever fits me.

01:07:39 - 01:07:44 | Speaker 5:

Uh-uh. I lose a receipt within 60 seconds every time. Every time.

01:07:44 - 01:07:54 | Speaker 1:

I always ask them to give me the digital receipt and have it emailed to me, And then I throw it into, I have a, like a thing in my, it's, I think it's called bought

01:07:54 - 01:07:59 | Speaker 3:

things and I have it in my Gmail, but then you're signed up for all their mailing lists.

01:07:59 - 01:08:24 | Speaker 1:

Well, that's the thing is that I do get it, but I always try to spam folder it. But I, but because of stuff like this, of being able to have it, the other thing too is for somebody that is my size, you want to know what it was that you specifically bought. So you can go and order it on their, their catalog, you know, or order it online. So I always keep it just so I have that at least, just to be able to have it as a backup. But what's up, Mojo in the Morning? Hi.

01:08:26 - 01:08:27 | Speaker 2:

Good morning. This is Lisa.

01:08:28 - 01:08:29 | Speaker 1:

What's up, Lisa?

01:08:30 - 01:08:45 | Speaker 2:

Give me one second. Alexa, stop. I actually bought a bra at Victoria's Secret, carried it into another store. It didn't set off the alarm in Victoria's Secret. Went to another store, and it set off their alarm.

01:08:45 - 01:08:51 | Speaker 1:

Really? So it didn't set off the alarm at the store that you bought it from, but set it off at another store?

01:08:51 - 01:08:52 | Speaker 4:

That's weird. Yeah.

01:08:53 - 01:08:56 | Speaker 1:

That's insane. That's wild how that works.

01:08:56 - 01:09:03 | Speaker 3:

You know what else is wild? Everybody's home device in Google.Echo, everybody's now going, Alexa, stop what? What do you want me to stop?

01:09:03 - 01:09:10 | Speaker 1:

Lisa, I don't know if you know that. Do you get a lot of packages, Lisa? Yes, you do. I know you, Lisa. Do you get a lot of packages delivered to your house?

01:09:11 - 01:09:11 | Speaker 3:

I do.

01:09:11 - 01:09:25 | Speaker 1:

So if you want to tip the Amazon driver, starting today, you can say, Alexa, thank my Amazon driver or thank my driver, and it will automatically put a $5 tip on the Amazon driver's account.

01:09:26 - 01:09:28 | Speaker 2:

Now my Alexa is going to do that.

01:09:28 - 01:09:36 | Speaker 1:

Hold on. Let me do this right now. Alexa, thank my driver. I'm going to see if it all of a sudden just randomly just starts throwing money into people.

01:09:36 - 01:09:37 | Speaker 5:

Every driver right now is like, yeah.

01:09:38 - 01:09:42 | Speaker 3:

Isn't that nice? It adds on to, like, it makes their company pay them a tip.

01:09:42 - 01:09:58 | Speaker 1:

And the cool thing is with that, the one that gets the most money ends up getting a bigger bonus. But it's pretty wild that they're doing this. Obviously, they've gotten some bad press lately, so they need to. But what's up, Molly? Yes.

01:10:00 - 01:10:03 | Speaker 6:

Hi. You had a story about the sensors.

01:10:03 - 01:10:04 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

01:10:04 - 01:10:34 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, my daughter was graduating from eighth grade, and so we had gone for the family pictures beforehand. And just before that, I had sent my teenage daughter to go pick up a sports coat for my youngest. We had it paid for. She ran into the store, got it, picked it up, got home. Actually, got to the school because we were running late. Hands my son his jacket. We get ready to take the picture And he's got the sensor on the pocket On the outside of this red sports coat

01:10:34 - 01:10:34 | Speaker 4:

Oh jeez

01:10:34 - 01:10:41 | Speaker 6:

And literally minutes before the picture So it's funny because we look at this picture And you can still see the dark

01:10:41 - 01:10:48 | Speaker 4:

Make sure you use the down button By the way, what you should have done is decorate it like a Christmas tree You know Well we still can

01:10:48 - 01:10:49 | Speaker 6:

We still have the darn jacket

01:10:49 - 01:10:51 | Speaker 4:

Oh there you go Yeah, decorate it

01:10:51 - 01:10:52 | Speaker 6:

Seven years later

01:10:52 - 01:10:52 | Speaker 4:

Yeah

01:10:52 - 01:10:55 | Speaker 6:

Oh we have to, good idea

01:10:55 - 01:11:00 | Speaker 4:

Alright, thank you for the call Take care of yourself. We're going to do a phone scam here on the Mojo in the Morning Show. What do you got, Spike?

01:11:00 - 01:11:28 | Speaker 1:

We're going to phone scam, and God bless Beverly for sending me this email. Whenever you have a mom that turns out her own daughter and calls her dumb, I think it's priceless. I think the word she used was blonde in the email. But she said, can you phone scam my daughter? It'll be perfect because she's supposed to come pick me up. I'm supposed to call her to get a ride home. So I'm going to call, but I'm not going to be mom. I'm going to be a computerized voice. And I'm just going to really confuse the hell out of this.

01:11:28 - 01:11:30 | Speaker 4:

How do you do a computerized voice?

01:11:30 - 01:11:43 | Speaker 1:

I have this computer program, this research lab put together. It actually speaks. Well, watch. I'll give you an example. If I say something into my computer or type it in, it'll speak it with a computerized voice.

01:11:43 - 01:11:49 | Speaker 3:

If I say something into my computer or type it in, it will speak it with a computerized voice.

01:11:50 - 01:11:52 | Speaker 1:

I can tell it what to say in the phone scan.

01:11:52 - 01:11:58 | Speaker 5:

Can I do one? Yeah, go ahead. I don't know. I'll put in there, nice package, mojo in the morning.

01:12:07 - 01:12:08 | Speaker 4:

01:12:08 - 01:12:14 | Speaker 1:

Nice package, mojo in the morning.

01:12:18 - 01:12:20 | Speaker 1:

01:12:20 - 01:12:28 | Speaker 5:

Let me hear a guy telling me I have a nice package. Nice package, mojo in the morning. So we're going to call this girl, and it's going to be a computerized voice. It's going to be calling her.

01:12:29 - 01:12:34 | Speaker 4:

For Mojo, Mike Shannon, for Mojo in the morning!

01:16:03 - 01:16:48 | Speaker 1:

Good morning, good morning, good morning. Hello, welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. We got so much for the rest of the show, the second half of the show to get to. It's good to have you guys listening. We have a huge thank you to say to our entire staff in West Michigan for this morning's Breaking Night and Christmas Wish. Tim Fagan's crew, everybody there. Ron, all the staff that came out and granted the wish. And Mike, he's back in the studio, and I think he'll be back soon. We're going to make sure we do a shout-out to everybody. And when Mike does come back in, we're going to play the throwback throwdown. So, I don't know. Do I have to stall with a lot of songs? Because I like a lot of songs.

01:16:48 - 01:16:49 | Speaker 2:

Good, good, good, good, good.

01:16:49 - 01:18:00 | Speaker 1:

But we granted a Breaking Night and Christmas Wish this morning. We have another one coming up here in just a little bit. And listen to the prize, by the way, for the throwback throwdown this morning. The concert that we're giving away tickets to sold 40,000 seats in two days. What? No, it's not Taylor Swift. It was Pink. Pink's concert that's coming to Comerica Park sold 40,000 tickets in two days that the show got announced. coming to Comerica Park this summer. Actually, August the 16th. Pink's going to be performing live. We're going to give away tickets right now. Tell us who you think is going to win the throwback throwdown. And I do have to say this. Your choices are going to be limited to just three today. Maybe two. Spike, Megan, and Mike. So Spike, Megan, and Mike are your choices. Alright, so So you decide who I was thinking about that was going to be the one to limit it to. All right, let's get things started this morning. 01:18:02 - 01:18:04 | Speaker 2:

01:18:05 - 01:18:22 | Speaker 1:

Shannon is out sick today, so we have Spike, Megan, and Mike. Great job, Mike, this morning. Nice work this morning with the Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish. And thanks to everybody from West Michigan that was out there. Who was all out there, Mike?

01:18:23 - 01:18:30 | Speaker 6:

Tim Fagan, Kate Arnold, Ron Clement, Pete June, Marcus Bradman, and the whole crew. Yeah, yeah.

01:18:30 - 01:18:38 | Speaker 1:

That was awesome. And Cecily. What did Cecily think, by the way, your daughter, think of being out there and getting a chance to meet this beautiful family?

01:18:38 - 01:18:47 | Speaker 5:

She loves it. She's going to school to tell all of her friends that she did that. And she wanted to stay and play with them. Like, wanted to hang out. Oh, that's cool.

01:18:47 - 01:18:56 | Speaker 1:

We have to go back and visit. Yeah, that's cool. First pick in the draft this morning goes to Jaden. Jaden, who do you choose?

01:18:57 - 01:18:58 | Speaker 6:

I'm going with my girl, Megan.

01:18:59 - 01:19:01 | Speaker 1:

Wow. Wow.

01:19:02 - 01:19:06 | Speaker 4:

Well, obviously you didn't see her dancing. I think Reese got the stream started a little late.

01:19:06 - 01:19:09 | Speaker 6:

Beautiful, but her dirties were smooth today.

01:19:09 - 01:19:12 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Look at the compliments.

01:19:12 - 01:19:13 | Speaker 6:

She's showering.

01:19:13 - 01:19:14 | Speaker 1:

Love you.

01:19:14 - 01:19:14 | Speaker 6:

Hey.

01:19:15 - 01:19:18 | Speaker 1:

Spike and Mike still on the board. So, Steph, who are you choosing?

01:19:19 - 01:19:21 | Speaker 5:

Well, my friend Jackie and I are huge fans of Spike.

01:19:21 - 01:19:22 | Speaker 1:

All right.

01:19:22 - 01:19:22 | Speaker 4:

I love it, Steph.

01:19:24 - 01:19:29 | Speaker 1:

Hello, hello. Next pick goes to Sarah. You got Mike. Congratulations, Sarah.

01:19:30 - 01:19:31 | Speaker 5:

I wanted that little elf anyway.

01:19:33 - 01:19:37 | Speaker 6:

All right.

01:19:38 - 01:19:49 | Speaker 1:

Remember, first to three, your name is your buzzer, title and artist. first song in the Mojo in the Morning throwback throwdown this week is... Spike. Spike.

01:19:49 - 01:19:52 | Speaker 4:

That is Eminem with Aerosmith. Sing for the moment.

01:19:52 - 01:19:57 | Speaker 1:

Correct answer. You didn't have to include Aerosmith, but I'll give it to you anyway.

01:19:57 - 01:19:59 | Speaker 4:

I feel like this whole song is built around Stephen Tyle.

01:20:00 - 01:20:12 | Speaker 2:

Taylor, it's only right. And if you missed it on HBO, you've got to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions because this song is performed, blows you away. So good.

01:20:13 - 01:20:21 | Speaker 1:

Next song in the Mojo in the Morning, Throwback, Throwdown, title and artist. That song. What are you giggling at over there?

01:20:21 - 01:20:25 | Speaker 2:

It blows you away. Watch it. Watch it. It's good.

Yee, yee, yee. Oh.

01:22:40 - 01:22:52 | Speaker 2:

All right. Not to embarrass my girlfriend, but pretty sure she's coming in today. And I'm pretty sure she did some sort of video with her girlfriends to that song. It may have been a talent show or something.

01:22:52 - 01:22:53 | Speaker 4:

Wait, did you see that?

01:22:54 - 01:22:59 | Speaker 1:

Really? She won't let me see it. How old was she at the time? Let's see how much younger she is than you.

01:22:59 - 01:23:00 | Speaker 2:

What year did that song come out?

01:23:00 - 01:23:03 | Speaker 1:

It is a good song, isn't it? We should be playing this song still. I'm going to bring it to the music meeting on Mondays. All right. Nobody gets that one. Still tied at one apiece. Let's see if we can break the tie with this song.

01:25:00 - 01:25:01 | Speaker 2:

Mike, was it Mike?

01:25:01 - 01:25:07 | Speaker 3:

Why am I buzzing in for Mike? It is Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, nothing but a G thing.

01:25:31 - 01:25:51 | Speaker 3:

All right. Score update here. I'll give it since half our staff is still out sick. Megan is in the lead with two. Spike and Mike won a piece, guys. So kind of interesting because that's how it was picked. Jaden, you had the right call, I guess.

01:25:53 - 01:26:19 | Speaker 3:

Oh, okay. Steph and Sarah, can you chair on your celebrity? I know, that was kind of funny, wasn't it? All right, I guess not. Next song in the Mojo in the Morning Throwback Throwdown. Megan, you can win this contest with... Ready? Hold on, I got to push the button up. Come on.

01:26:20 - 01:26:24 | Speaker 2:

01:26:37 - 01:26:54 | Speaker 4:

01:26:54 - 01:27:00 | Speaker 2:

Save me from this prison. Spike. Lord, help me. I'm sorry.

01:27:18 - 01:27:24 | Speaker 4:

I'm going to say John Mayer, and I'm not going to give you a title unless you buzzed me. Okay, guys. I'm not giving it to Mike.

01:27:24 - 01:27:39 | Speaker 3:

01:27:58 - 01:27:59 | Speaker 3:

01:27:59 - 01:28:01 | Speaker 2:

I don't know why they didn't have any more in them.

01:28:01 - 01:28:27 | Speaker 3:

All right. Look at this. Mike and Megan in the lead, tied with two. Spikes just behind with one. And this next song could make us a winner or give us a three-way. You guys ready? The next song in the Mojo in the Morning, Throw Back, Throw Down, is... Megan for the win

01:28:27 - 01:28:31 | Speaker 4:

A big announcement from Celine Dion as to why she's putting off more tour dates in Europe. And it's not good news. I'll tell you what it is coming up next.

01:29:20 - 01:29:23 | Speaker 3:

01:29:41 - 01:30:00 | Speaker 2:

And there's a ton of that. Grab $100, maybe $1,000. Somebody's going to get $10,000 cash. Whoa, that's a lot of mistletoe. Listen every morning at 7.30 and 8.30. Then you get at 12.30, 2.30, and 4.30 to grab the green. It's Mojo's Mistletoe from Mojo in the morning.

01:30:52 - 01:30:54 | Speaker 6:

Mojo in the mornings, dirty on the 30.

01:30:54 - 01:31:40 | Speaker 4:

Man, we got a lot of good stuff this morning. I mean, first off, let me just say this to you. Today might be the day of days to listen, only because I'm on cough medicine. And anything goes today. I'm at a point right now where I don't even know what we just did the last hour and a half. So stick around. In just a few moments, is it the best key lime pie ever? And could it potentially cost Spike his relationship with his girlfriend, Meg? Coming up in just a little bit, it's the key lime taste test. Will Spike be able to know whose key lime pie is whose key lime pie? Remember he talked about that woman that made the best key lime pie ever, and he mentioned that to his girlfriend, and she got upset with that.

01:31:40 - 01:31:42 | Speaker 5:

And Mojo saw an opportunity to get me in more trouble.

01:31:43 - 01:31:45 | Speaker 3:

And I'm reading the benefits. I love it.

01:31:46 - 01:32:02 | Speaker 4:

So coming up in a little bit, the taste test of taste tests happening here. First, though, Megan's in for Shannon. Let's look here. Who's been down sick? Me, KP, Shannon now, and I think that that's it. Anybody else in the building? Everybody else is okay?

01:32:02 - 01:32:03 | Speaker 5:

I got super tiger blood.

01:32:04 - 01:32:10 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to be mad, though, if I get sick now for the weekend and you guys all got most of your week off. I'm going to be real mad. I'm not going to lie.

01:32:10 - 01:32:22 | Speaker 4:

Let me do ask you this question, though. What happens if you get food poisoning from Key Lime Pie today? Would you blame it on your girlfriend's Key Lime Pie or this lady's Key Lime Pie that's coming in today? You better not even mention that.

01:32:22 - 01:32:25 | Speaker 5:

I would never say it if I got food poisoning.

01:32:25 - 01:32:32 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. I would never. It would be a mysterious flu that nobody's ever heard of before. Yeah, that's what it is. You just say, you got sick like everybody else got sick.

01:32:32 - 01:32:32 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

01:32:33 - 01:32:34 | Speaker 4:

All right, what's going on, Megan?

01:32:34 - 01:32:53 | Speaker 3:

So Celine Dion has postponed a bunch of European tour dates after a pretty shocking neurological disorder diagnosis, which is super rare. It's only affecting like one in a million people. Here's what she had to say about that. on her instagram alive is where i believe or just instagram it was like a pre-recorded post

01:32:53 - 01:33:15 | Speaker 1:

recently have been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called the stiff person syndrome which affects something like one in a million people while we're still learning about this rare condition we now know this is what's been causing all of the spasms that i've been

01:33:15 - 01:33:34 | Speaker 3:

having so she postponed this to her because she can't sing the way that she used to stiff person syndrome is a progressive disease it affects the nervous system specifically the brain and the spinal cord and this is crazy but the spasms can actually be so forceful that they can fracture

01:33:34 - 01:33:46 | Speaker 4:

bones wow crazy and she's already honestly so frail in itself she's so skinny you know Look, I'm bummed about this because I really – I'd love – That's one artist, honestly, I would like to see.

01:33:47 - 01:33:48 | Speaker 3:

I totally agree. Totally agree.

01:33:48 - 01:33:52 | Speaker 5:

And she's only 54 years old. A lot of people think she's older than that.

01:33:52 - 01:33:59 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Well, remember she married the old dude? Yeah. And then she kind of always, in her career, has kind of always appealed to an older audience.

01:33:59 - 01:34:06 | Speaker 5:

Her hits, she was already like in her – like young days, but she looked older than she was when she had her biggest hits.

01:34:06 - 01:34:32 | Speaker 3:

She has pretty young kids, and there's currently no cure for this disease. Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys has been accused of raping a minor back in 2001. Shannon Ruth is now 39 and is alleging that Nick Carter invited her onto a tour bus after a concert, offered her some alcohol, pulled down his pants, forced himself on her. She was just 17 at the time. She's also claiming that he infected her with HPV. Here's what she had to say.

01:34:33 - 01:34:47 | Speaker 2:

The last 21 years have been filled with pain, confusion, frustration. shame and self-harm that are a direct result of nick carter raping me this allegation not just

01:34:47 - 01:35:00 | Speaker 3:

coming from her uh her attorney is saying that three other women they're named only as jane at this point are in a joint lawsuit along with ruth uh sorry ruth nick carter is denying these allegations his attorney

01:35:00 - 01:35:09 | Speaker 5:

is calling these entirely untrue these allegations have led to some backlash for the Bakshi boys we'll talk about that during next hour's dirty can I play for you again that clip that I played

01:35:09 - 01:35:32 | Speaker 3:

for you last hour but this was part of the interview that we have that's posted from our jingle ball backstage and uh I had no idea that this allegation was coming out nor did I know that the allegation was there and I said this to these guys you know it's funny you cannot find a scandal about you guys as, like, dads or anything like that? Well, I hope not. Okay. Whoops. That did not age well.

01:35:33 - 01:35:36 | Speaker 5:

Didn't age well over the course of 48 hours.

01:35:36 - 01:35:44 | Speaker 1:

Well, and also especially since we found out that this has been going on for a while and that Backstreet Boys camp has known about this for a while. They've been in communication with lawyers.

01:35:44 - 01:35:47 | Speaker 5:

Do you think all of their, like, little booty holes puckered when you said that?

01:35:47 - 01:36:08 | Speaker 3:

Well, can I tell you, there must be something with them being confident with this because they haven't canceled being at our Jingle Balls. You know what I mean? Like, they could have, you know, canceled us on Tuesday, and they're doing a bunch of other ones. I know ABC's the one canceling their event.

01:36:08 - 01:36:08 | Speaker 5:

Spoiling our list.

01:36:08 - 01:36:12 | Speaker 3:

So, oh, I'm sorry. That's for the next hour's dirty. Go back to your dirty. I'm sorry.

01:36:13 - 01:36:30 | Speaker 5:

Trevor Noah's seven-year run as host of The Daily Show is officially over. He took over as host of The Daily Show back in 2015 after Jon Stewart retired. He hosted the Comedy Central show for the last time last night, and as he offered his farewell, he gave a special shout-out to a member, or a portion of his audience.

01:36:31 - 01:36:49 | Speaker 2:

I'll tell you now, do yourself a favor. You truly want to know what to do or how to do it, or maybe the best way or the most equitable way, talk to black women. They're a lot of the reason that I'm here, and so I'm grateful to them. I'm grateful to every single one of you. This has been an honor. Thank you.

01:36:49 - 01:36:53 | Speaker 5:

And that's how he signed off of The Daily Show for the last time.

01:36:53 - 01:37:00 | Speaker 1:

No, you missed the clip. You edited it too soon where they said, now I'm going to go live a quiet life in the suburbs of Toledo with my Megan May.

01:37:01 - 01:37:06 | Speaker 5:

And then I fell in love. Are you into him? Like, looks-wise? He's a top-time crush for me.

01:37:06 - 01:37:10 | Speaker 3:

Because I got to tell you, he does not do it for me on The Daily Show. Shut up.

01:37:10 - 01:37:11 | Speaker 5:

You're not allowed to talk for the rest of the dirty.

01:37:11 - 01:37:19 | Speaker 3:

I used to love The Daily Show, and he just never made me entertain. Oh! I'm sorry.

01:37:19 - 01:37:22 | Speaker 5:

My fence just, like, recalled that. I couldn't help it. It just...

01:37:22 - 01:37:24 | Speaker 3:

Spike, how much did you watch Trevor Noah?

01:37:25 - 01:37:41 | Speaker 1:

Not as much as previous hosts. Yeah. You mean previous hosts? Well, it's also... Well, no. They had a few hosts on that show before him. But also, I think I would digest a lot more Trevor Noah because they posted almost every segment on social media. So I didn't have to tune in for it.

01:37:41 - 01:37:58 | Speaker 5:

I loved his segments between... Or, like, during the commercial breaks where he would record his sit-down conversations. It started with Anna Kendrick. The big one was when he was bringing in guests, and then guests wanted to stick around for that. But just his talks to the audience, just kiss. I love him so much, so much.

01:37:58 - 01:38:00 | Speaker 3:

Can you love him off of the air for us, please?

01:38:01 - 01:38:07 | Speaker 5:

No. What else do you got? He's sexy. Chelsea Handler also weighed in on who she thought should be the next host of The Daily Show.

01:38:07 - 01:38:09 | Speaker 3:

Haven't they already picked somebody? They haven't picked anybody? No.

01:38:09 - 01:38:19 | Speaker 4:

It's definitely time for a woman. We just need the right executives to put a woman in that position. to consulting at this point that we don't have any more females in late night. It doesn't make sense.

01:38:19 - 01:38:19 | Speaker 3:

Megan May.

01:38:19 - 01:38:24 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, we can't have men representing us. We need a woman representing us. So I heard Comedy Central is hiring.

01:38:25 - 01:38:29 | Speaker 3:

Wait, you have just left GMA now to go to The Daily Show.

01:38:29 - 01:38:34 | Speaker 5:

You know what? In the most not shocking turn of events, I'll go to whoever pays me more.

01:38:34 - 01:38:40 | Speaker 3:

You worked at GMA faster than some of our salespeople have worked at iHeartRadio Detroit. This is amazing.

01:38:41 - 01:38:47 | Speaker 5:

I'll go where the money is. Okay, and ever since our beloved Sir Mix-a-Lot rapped about, like in those big booties.

01:38:47 - 01:38:49 | Speaker 3:

Hold on a second. You didn't ask me to pull that song.

01:38:49 - 01:38:51 | Speaker 5:

No, I asked you to pull a Cardi B song.

01:38:51 - 01:38:56 | Speaker 3:

Oh, okay. Yeah. I was going to, oh, I'm sorry. Do you want, wait, I thought you were talking about Sir Mix-a-Lot.

01:38:56 - 01:38:58 | Speaker 5:

No, it was just a segue, my dude.

01:38:58 - 01:39:00 | Unknown:

Oh. Talk about booties.

01:39:01 - 01:39:04 | Speaker 3:

Oh, okay. All right, so I'm playing a Cardi B song?

Well, it doesn't matter. You can play either song, whichever one you prefer. We're just going to be talking about booties because Cardi B is surprising her fans this week when she revealed that she secretly had some surgery over the summer. If you're thinking it was to make her booty bigger, wrong, actually, to make her booty a little bit smaller. She said that she had her fillers taken out of her butt four months ago, adding that the operation was crazy. She said, in August, I got surgery and removed about 95% of my biopolymers. If you don't know what that is, I'm going to edit this. is booty shots it was really crazy process she said uh on her instagram live she felt a lot of pressure growing up to get much back and she was also uh thin in her team so she really wanted to just have that curvier figure but ever since she's been regretting it and she had it removed she added saying uh i don't have enough fat to put in my booty so your result is to put booty shots in Don't.

01:40:00 - 01:40:20 | Speaker 1:

don't do it. Check out all of today's Dirty by going to the Dirty page at MojoInTheMorning.com What was a better song to have? This one or that? Celine Dion. Celine Dion for the movie. I should do that by the way. One day when you or Shannon asked me to play songs, I should mix them all up and play them wrong and see how it changes the Dirty.

01:40:23 - 01:40:27 | Speaker 3:

Celebrity Dirt directly from the source. It's Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the Dirty.

01:40:29 - 01:40:48 | Speaker 1:

01:40:49 - 01:40:50 | Speaker 2:

Yay, thank you.

01:40:50 - 01:40:57 | Speaker 1:

Thank you. Where are you from? Farmington. Oh, my gosh. We're right there. We're actually broadcasting in your city.

01:40:57 - 01:40:58 | Speaker 2:

We're outside your window right now.

01:41:00 - 01:41:24 | Speaker 1:

Would you react that way? We got to hear what a listener reacted like with Breaking Enter and Christmas Wish with Mike knocking on the door. The most interesting part of that, and I want people to listen for the wish later today, was that she was so surprised that we were there, but then she got freaked out thinking that it wasn't us. Wasn't it, Mike? It was kind of a little taken back after a bit there.

01:41:24 - 01:41:27 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think it was the way I was knocking, but it was a very cop-esque knock.

01:41:27 - 01:42:37 | Speaker 1:

Like a boop, boop, boop, boop, boop. It was pretty cool. That was actually a very touching wish. And the live, the Facebook live, had us all balling here in the studio. It's Mojo in the Morning. Go to mojoswish.org and send us your wishes. And thank you to everybody that's been helping us with the Christmas wishes. Our good friends over at the Red Robin locations who will be in studio with us coming up soon with a check presentation. presentation uh imagine theaters and the clean view auto wash for uh their sponsorships and their large contributions to breaking it all right mojo in the morning show it's fun to uh you know hear my son uh with you guys and ashley and jed and all those guys to mix for the people that don't listen to detroit's channel 955 so uh we're on in the morning uh you know like we are in your city but then in the afternoon uh joe my son and then uh jed and ashley his two best friends do a show together and they do a morning show in another city they do a morning show out of tampa florida and when i got sick at jingle ball um tony uh said you know what let's have everybody

01:42:37 - 01:42:43 | Speaker 3:

go in and recap the jingle ball oh it's so much fun putting the two shows together it was just

01:42:43 - 01:42:49 | Speaker 1:

so much fun how weird was that for you who's known joey since he was five years old yeah we

01:42:49 - 01:43:15 | Speaker 3:

addressed that early in the show we talked about the fact that he used to sit here next to me sometimes you would bring your son in when he was six years old sitting next to me in the chair watching us do radio and then i he was in control we put him in there in front of the all the buttons and computers let him run the show and it was what he said he couldn't get out of his head that Like, he watched us do radio for so many years, and now he's running the Mojo on the morning show. And I was like, I loved it.

01:43:15 - 01:43:42 | Speaker 1:

I thought that it was wild that I will never forget, and I will never forget this. Dom Theodore was one of our first bosses, mentor friend of ours, unbelievable guy. When he told me that I should teach Joe how to run a control board, he's like, you should teach him how to run a control board. He goes, I think, you know, that would be like one of the coolest things. And I did. I taught him how to run a control board. And that was kind of his first passion. And now Chelsea wishes that she had married a doctor.

01:43:42 - 01:43:43 | Speaker 3:

Do taxes.

01:43:43 - 01:43:48 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, taught him how to balance a checkbook would have been probably.

01:43:48 - 01:44:09 | Speaker 3:

I mean, we did a lot of recap of our Jingle Ball, and I think listeners have heard us talk a lot about it. But the one thing that was really fun that you didn't get to hear about because you were out sick was seeing you and Joe on stage together. I mean, it's just surreal. You don't see a lot of that in any business where you see them walking in dad's shoes.

01:44:09 - 01:44:59 | Speaker 1:

The only time you see it is car dealerships. Car dealerships always get passed on to their kids, and then their kids all of a sudden become it. I'm Marty Feldman, and Joe is Jay. But no, it's wild how that does happen because, yeah, you don't see it. It's not in media that much. Although in television, it is in some markets. You'll see some TV people. Like in Chicago, there's a couple of major television people that have had that. But can I tell you the funniest? You know that guy that was telling us what to do when we were on stage, the big, good-looking black dude that was back there? Love him. He was so nice. He works for iHeart in New York. And I kept saying to him, hey, this is my son. And he didn't believe me. He thought I was a kid. He's like, oh, whatever. And so then the one time when we went up and introduced Kid Leroy, and I said, here, this is pretty cool. I'm up here with my kid introducing a kid. and we came back and he goes,

01:45:00 - 01:45:58 | Speaker 2:

You weren't lying to me. I thought he was like – he looked at me like I was crazy at one point. But I loved having him here. Chelsea and I both really enjoyed having, you know, all three of them hanging out and got a chance to spend time with them. I just wish that I didn't get sick because it would have been fun to have everybody come in and still be in here with them, with, you know, those guys. But Joe is coming back for Christmas, and I bring this up because I'm about to talk about something right now. A study just came out that says that if parents want their kids who are in Gen Z to come for the holidays, you're going to have to pay them this year. Yes. What do you mean by that? Half of Gen Z plan to go home for the holidays, but a lot of them will only be doing it if mom or dad put it on their dime, according to new research. This is from Credit Karma.

01:46:00 - 01:46:01 | Speaker 3:

What's the problem?

01:46:01 - 01:46:32 | Speaker 2:

41% of them are relying on their parents or relatives to pay for their travel accommodations in order to get them to come home. And what's the problem? I love Megan saying this. By the way, I feel like this is always in my family anyway. I feel like Chelsea and I are always ended up, hey, we'll pay for your ticket or whatever. Or Jacob coming home. We'll pay for you to get back home from Chicago. ago. Yeah. At what point does that, does that stop though? Well, as soon as our financial

01:46:32 - 01:46:37 | Speaker 3:

situations start to match, cause I don't know what it's like in your family, but I'm not making

01:46:37 - 01:46:50 | Speaker 2:

Scott Mick money. What would Scott Mick, if you told Scott Mick, I'm not coming for Christmas. And I know that you guys live in the same city, but if you said, I'm not coming for Christmas unless you pay for me to come, what would he say to you? Well, here's the thing. I'm very,

01:46:50 - 01:47:03 | Speaker 3:

very lucky that one of the benefits of my dad's job is that he travels a lot. So he has a a bunch of frequent flyer miles. So I know that man would fly me home because I am the favorite child and he loves me.

01:47:03 - 01:47:04 | Speaker 2:

You should ask him for gas money.

01:47:05 - 01:47:09 | Speaker 3:

No, he wouldn't do that. He wouldn't do that at all? He wouldn't actually pay out of pocket for me to come.

01:47:09 - 01:47:19 | Speaker 2:

Spike, you should call your mom and dad because I know you go back to Philadelphia to go visit your family. You should call your mom and dad and say, not coming in this year unless you guys pay for my tickets and see what dad says.

01:47:19 - 01:47:25 | Speaker 3:

It's different. A Gen Z and baby millennials because nobody likes it when I call it.

01:47:25 - 01:47:26 | Speaker 2:

I want to be Gen Z.

01:47:26 - 01:47:34 | Speaker 3:

I'm not on the cusp, apparently, but us young millennials and Gen Zs don't have the financial stability in this economy.

01:47:34 - 01:47:39 | Speaker 2:

Now we know why Megan's been wanting to be Gen Z forever because she wants to be part of this.

01:47:39 - 01:47:46 | Speaker 1:

It wouldn't work for me because for the last few years, I've given my parents plane tickets for Christmas to come visit us.

01:47:46 - 01:47:48 | Speaker 2:

See what you do to your parents eventually? You pay for them.

01:47:48 - 01:48:04 | Speaker 1:

Because apparently the greatest generation didn't save any money. They got to take my money. I've got to raise kids and raise parents. But, no, Megan wants so desperately to be that helpless 21-year-old with no responsibilities.

01:48:05 - 01:48:07 | Speaker 3:

Why is it crap on the young people?

01:48:07 - 01:48:23 | Speaker 1:

Pay my bills. Can young people please call in and defend me? No, I'm not crapping on young people. I'm crapping on you because you are way older than the people you claim to be. You're 30, Megan. Be 30. I understand that generation. I have two daughters that age. I understand the trying to pay rent and all that stuff now.

01:48:23 - 01:48:25 | Speaker 3:

So what age do you think it stops, truly?

01:48:25 - 01:48:29 | Speaker 1:

Right after you. You're such a jerk.

01:48:30 - 01:48:32 | Speaker 3:

I'm in the same boat as they are. Totally.

01:48:33 - 01:48:42 | Speaker 2:

I hate to say this because I'm not going to do the whole I walked both ways uphill. Yeah, yeah, but. But I do want you to know that I moved out of my parents' house when I was 16 years old.

01:48:42 - 01:48:44 | Speaker 1:

No, but times are different now.

01:48:44 - 01:49:14 | Speaker 2:

I get it. And I moved out, and then I moved across the country when I was 20 to go to Arizona. And when I came home to visit my dad I had to buy the plane ticket I'll never forget I never knew what a plane ticket cost Because the only time I was on a plane Was when the company flew me there for a job And when I bought that plane ticket I didn't know what I was going to do Because it was so expensive to do it But I will say this If I could, I'd take the money I'd take it and I'd run I'd be out of there so fast

01:49:14 - 01:49:18 | Speaker 3:

Just so I'm clear, it's wrong if I do it But if you do it, it's fine

01:49:18 - 01:49:36 | Speaker 2:

I agree with you I agree. You know what? We raised our kids, you know, a certain way, and we ended up loving them. I don't know why we do, but we love them, and we love them home. And if I wasn't married to Chelsea, if Chelsea and I were divorced, I wouldn't pay for crap anymore. They'd be on their own. They'd be orphaned.

01:49:36 - 01:49:40 | Speaker 3:

Ask me how much my college education cost compared to my father's college education.

01:49:40 - 01:49:43 | Speaker 2:

Oh, how about me? I paid for my own college education.

01:49:44 - 01:49:48 | Speaker 3:

So did I, and I'm still paying for it, and I will until I'm 70. Are you kidding me?

01:49:48 - 01:49:48 | Speaker 1:

I get it.

01:49:48 - 01:49:49 | Speaker 2:

I understand that.

01:49:49 - 01:50:06 | Speaker 1:

My dad paid like $500 a year for college, and then you can get a job at Sears as a salesman for shoes and raise four kids in a house and not have bills. Look at 1980 and how many credit hours you needed to get a college degree and how many you need now and the cost difference. I will have this by all day today.

01:50:06 - 01:50:12 | Speaker 2:

Megan, here's the deal. If you want me to come visit you in Toledo, you've got to pay for me to come there. Just a gas card. I want a talent fee.

01:50:12 - 01:50:15 | Speaker 1:

Wow, you just made it easy for me. Looks like you're never visiting.

01:50:16 - 01:50:26 | Speaker 2:

You're so mean. I'm going to pull a Megan. I hate you. What's up, Ro? How you doing? Hi. What's up?

01:50:26 - 01:51:22 | Speaker 5:

um i just wanted to sorry i just i wasn't sure if i was really on the air um no we're not i wanted to let you know we're not on the air okay um i wanted to let you know after the show the other night um my girlfriend and i were at the show it was amazing by the way thank you so much and shout out to my girlfriend chris we had a great time we were walking back to our car it was drizzly and you know wet and cold and we ran into joe jett and ashley and they stopped and chad with us in the rain and they are the nicest people you have done a great job with your boys and i just wanted to let you know they're such genuine nice people they are awesome people they are and by the way so awesome they gave us a hug i mean yeah they're talking to us in the rain and i just I thought, you know, that reflects their parenting, I think.

01:51:22 - 01:51:42 | Speaker 2:

And I think you and Chelsea have done an amazing job. I credit all their moms. Chelsea, Jed's mom, and Ashley's mom have done it all because all their dads are a-holes. But no, but aren't they great? And they're a lot of fun, too. They are.

01:51:42 - 01:52:01 | Speaker 5:

They're so genuine and so sweet and just really cool people. yeah they're awesome people and i just thought you needed to hear that thank you because i'll pass i'll pass it to them especially nowadays you see all you hear is the bad stuff about people so i just wanted to you know let you know she's so nice you should be buying

01:52:01 - 01:52:13 | Speaker 2:

their their tickets home that's right i make you look good well wait a second now megan would you have stopped and talked in the rain to uh to roe oh um of course i would

01:52:13 - 01:52:15 | Speaker 1:

Of course I would, because she's nice, unlike you.

01:52:18 - 01:52:22 | Speaker 2:

Amanda, what's going on? Good morning. Good morning. Hi, what's happening?

01:52:23 - 01:52:35 | Speaker 4:

I was just trying to say that you guys could do the Joe Show and the Joe Show together more often. That was awesome. I love when you guys actually call the Joe Show in the morning and get fun on the air with you guys. I feel you guys need to do that more often as well.

01:52:35 - 01:52:54 | Speaker 2:

It's cool. I wish our company embraced it more. Our company doesn't embrace it as much as they should. that the two shows have family members on them and stuff because there's a couple of other shows where brothers work like Frankie and what is it, Frankie V what's his brother's name, why do I bring

01:52:54 - 01:52:56 | Speaker 6:

Frankie II

01:52:56 - 01:53:10 | Speaker 2:

but those guys are good, I think our company needs to embrace this is a big corporation but it really is kind of a family operation where there's a lot of family members that do end up working with each other so it's pretty cool

01:53:10 - 01:53:12 | Speaker 4:

Well, I mean, we have some mishaps like you do, too.

01:53:13 - 01:53:13 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, yeah.

01:53:14 - 01:53:15 | Speaker 2:

Listen, I'm going to tell you this.

01:53:16 - 01:53:20 | Speaker 3:

He was all upset that he was messing up. I said, you understand your dad still does that, and he's been running that control board for 23 years.

01:53:20 - 01:53:40 | Speaker 2:

Can I tell you what he told me that I thought was the funniest? He said that people thought it was him because they thought it was me because they said that he sounds like me. He does. So anytime he made a mistake, he felt, maybe they think it's me. So I said, that's fine. All right, thank you for the call. I appreciate it.

01:53:40 - 01:54:05 | Speaker 4:

are you talking in your phone or what are you talking on right now all of a sudden you started talking on your shoe i think she said between him and me and i'm going to take that as a win

01:54:05 - 01:54:09 | Speaker 3:

i think she said you should pay us to visit unbelievable

01:54:09 - 01:54:10 | Speaker 2:

love you guys

01:54:10 - 01:54:12 | Speaker 6:

take care alright

01:54:12 - 01:54:50 | Speaker 2:

take care we love you too I'll do it in the morning Chelsea just sent me a text message to remind me that we've got a dinner with some friends and do you guys know people who are like ultra like kind of pushy and uh never really nice to wait staff like when you go out to eat at places and it kind of makes you feel uncomfortable when they do it they get like a little bit demanding

01:54:50 - 01:54:59 | Speaker 3:

you guys have any friends that are like that at all there was a former associate here at the radio station that would do that and i refuse to go out with him anymore because i did not want to be seen with them.

01:55:00 - 01:56:22 | Speaker 1:

while they were being jerks you know so this couple that we're supposed to go out with she is like one of those people that nothing is ever right for her and whenever we have gone out in the past i have told chelsea it makes me feel uncomfortable because we've gone out to some restaurants that are like regular places that we will eat at from time to time but also occasionally you'll get like a person that might be a listener and they might go oh hey i love listening to you and then she's like no problem at all being like real bitchy you know to the staff or complaining about everything and you know what i'm going to throw this out there because i'm going to ask this question you know you guys can call us up 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 i want you to call out your friends or people that you know that are rude to customer service people like to to you know waiters and waitresses and stuff when you go out to eat and what do you do if you have to go out to eat with them because these people are annoying and i'm hoping that we don't have to do this but um we also have in studio with us our good friends from red robin do you guys remember when we did the we work at red robin and we're raising money for breaking entering christmas wish i'm still wearing my staff shirt i love it brian cook liz in with us this morning thank you guys so much first off by the way liz what do we call brian we don't call him uh we call him Cookie, is that right?

01:56:23 - 01:56:24 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, we call him cookie around here.

01:56:24 - 01:56:30 | Speaker 1:

We call him cookie. Oh, that's awesome. That's never going to stop. You're always going to be cookie to us. I just want you to know that, Brian.

01:56:31 - 01:56:32 | Speaker 3:

No longer Brian.

01:56:32 - 01:57:03 | Speaker 1:

By the way, guys, we raised over $31,000 in this attempt to raise money for breaking and entering Christmas wish. And I know Brian was mad. Brian was like, I wanted to make the announcement on the air today when I got one of those fake checks made. And I'm like, you know what, Brian? The anticlimactic thing would have been to do that We had to announce it that day And the next day afterwards Because people wanted to know how much money we raised How are you? I'm doing good You deflated him

01:57:03 - 01:57:06 | Speaker 3:

He wanted to bring that big check in and surprise everybody

01:57:06 - 01:57:14 | Speaker 1:

Hold on one second I'm going to ask real quick a question What should I do with this couple That we're supposed to go out with That are rude to wait, Steph

01:57:14 - 01:57:54 | Speaker 3:

So I'm not really sure what you should do I just wanted to say that I know the feeling and I think everyone should have to work some kind of a customer service job because no one understands and they just, I don't know. I mean, I've been out with a couple of people that are like that and I've worked in wait staff. So, you know, like recently I went out to breakfast with my friend and her partner and he was asking for things and it wasn't anything like unreasonable, but he would ask and then he would wait for him to get something and come back and then he'd ask and wait for him to get something back and like dude ask for it all at once he's got other tables he doesn't want to run

01:57:54 - 01:58:00 | Speaker 1:

back and forth for four things liz people hate that right and the staff doesn't like that they

01:58:00 - 01:58:07 | Speaker 2:

want you to give it to them right in one all in one go yeah absolutely yeah by the way i hate when

01:58:07 - 01:58:23 | Speaker 1:

when people do that but i also hate when they don't you don't even say thank you when they come back with all the stuff like you just assume that you know okay this person's just you know they're getting paid so they can do this what's up mojo in the morning hello hey how are you good

01:58:23 - 01:58:55 | Speaker 2:

what's going on yeah i'm just calling to talk about uh the bad couple that you tend to go out with yeah what do you think i should do okay so i'm on the receiving end so i'm a server um and I went out one time, I want to talk to you about my story, with my ex's family, and my best friend was serving on them, complained about the food the entire time. I was so mortified. So I called back maybe an hour later and gave her $200.

01:58:55 - 01:58:56 | Speaker 1:

Wow.

01:58:56 - 01:58:57 | Speaker 2:

It was a $500 bill.

01:58:57 - 01:58:58 | Speaker 1:

Wow.

01:58:58 - 01:59:00 | Speaker 2:

My best friend...

01:59:00 - 01:59:06 | Speaker 1:

Wait, did your friend, did your friend, the family know that that was your friend?

01:59:07 - 01:59:30 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, they knew. I told them my best friend is going to serve on you guys. She's absolutely amazing. Complained to me the entire time. I received both ends from my active family and my best friend. But seriously, my best advice is being a server. I'm not afraid to call out my friend in front of the server, and it's much appreciated from a server point of view. How about this?

01:59:30 - 01:59:44 | Speaker 1:

What if I do this? What if we get to the restaurant and I excuse myself after I figure out who our waitress is? and then go up to them and say, these people are a-holes, spit in their food. Should I do that?

01:59:44 - 01:59:45 | Speaker 3:

What if they spit in yours by mistake?

01:59:45 - 01:59:54 | Speaker 2:

No, don't do that. No, but I've done that before too, though. I've done that before as a server. You spit in their food?

01:59:54 - 01:59:54 | Speaker 1:

Wait, you spit in their food?

01:59:55 - 01:59:56 | Speaker 2:

No.

01:59:56 - 01:59:57 | Speaker 1:

Oh, okay. All right.

01:59:57 - 02:00:03 | Speaker 2:

No, no, no. No, no, no. I've talked to them. to them about it and it's like it's not a big deal it happens all the time and i always end

02:00:03 - 02:00:37 | Speaker 5:

02:02:24 - 02:02:25 | Speaker 4:

Line out the door for tables.

02:02:25 - 02:02:38 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my gosh, I know. When I went in to thank them at the end of the night and talked to the line, they had smiles on their faces. They looked like they were more into raising money for Birkenhead and Christmas Wish than even we were in raising money for Birkenhead and Christmas Wish.

02:02:38 - 02:02:44 | Speaker 1:

They were so excited that you came back. They thought they were not going to get to see any of you, and most of you went back and said hello.

02:02:44 - 02:02:45 | Speaker 4:

Well, he was looking for bottomless fries.

02:02:45 - 02:02:51 | Speaker 1:

And the gluten-free buns I was scared he was going to go into my freezer And steal some

02:02:51 - 02:03:03 | Speaker 5:

They're so good by the way They blow away any of the stuff you can buy at a grocery store I have no idea why they don't have that At grocery stores Can I ask you a question What did you think about the fact that Spike wouldn't put the shirt on that night

02:03:03 - 02:03:05 | Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, what was that about

02:03:05 - 02:03:16 | Speaker 4:

I was freezing That was really cold that night And I could not warm up So I wanted to keep my hoodie on But to show there's no disrespect I wore it all morning this morning Look, I'm wearing it right now.

02:03:16 - 02:03:22 | Speaker 5:

Proof that he was cold that night was if you saw his titties that night, did you see the nipples?

02:03:22 - 02:03:27 | Speaker 4:

Three different people point out to me you could see my nipples through my hoodie, through my sweatshirt.

02:03:27 - 02:03:28 | Speaker 5:

It was unbelievable.

02:03:28 - 02:03:30 | Speaker 4:

Thank you for pointing that out. That was very nice of you, Mojo.

02:03:31 - 02:03:37 | Speaker 5:

You had the – seriously, like you were like – poked me in the eye at one point. Oh, you were Red Robins. That's right. Exactly.

02:03:38 - 02:03:38 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God.

02:03:39 - 02:04:00 | Speaker 5:

All right. So what do we got? How much money? What's the check say? I was in the food freezer, too. It was cold. I'm depositing. We got to deposit that thing. I got to grant more wishes next week here, Brian. I just saw Brian hand you another check. Grab it and hold it up because Reese is videotaping this. Hold it up for the aesthetics of this view. This is Jay the intern. Jay the intern. Give it up for Jay the intern. Look at that check.

02:04:01 - 02:04:01 | Speaker 4:

Wow.

02:04:01 - 02:04:26 | Speaker 5:

Look at that check. He absolutely killed himself making this stuff happen, so thanks, Jay. This is what we raised that night. You guys coming out to Southgate. $31,145. dollars and if it if it wasn't for you brian there would be families without a christmas this year and i thank you i thank your great staff um i you get you run a great show buddy well thanks

02:04:26 - 02:04:43 | Speaker 6:

Thank you.

02:04:44 - 02:04:44 | Speaker 5:

We'll be right back.

02:04:45 - 02:04:59 | Speaker 3:

Yep. 2022 can suck it in a lot of ways, but we're here to make Christmas as good as ever. Most of the mornings breaking and entering Christmas, which makes the holiday incredible for families all over. That may not have had the best year. Know somebody who's had it rough.

02:05:00 - 02:05:01 | Speaker 1:

about them at mojoswish.org.

02:05:01 - 02:05:11 | Speaker 5:

A big thank you to our friends from the Imagine Theaters, Clean View Auto Wash, and Red Robin for their amazing donations to Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish.

02:05:13 - 02:05:18 | Speaker 1:

What's that smell? Smells like another fresh scam.

02:05:18 - 02:06:28 | Speaker 5:

Another world-famous phone scam happens at 9.50 on Mojo in the Morning. mojo in the morning so a week ago on the show spike came in to tell us a story about how he mentioned over the thanksgiving holiday how he had the most amazing pie ever matter of fact I think you might have said that it was the best key lime pie that you have ever eaten in your life. Thinking nothing of it because it was a very tasty pie, you actually, in the process, offended your girlfriend. For those who don't know, Spike's girlfriend's name is Megan, just like our Megan, but not Megan. and you talked about how she then made you a pie to prove that this pie that you ate was not the

02:06:28 - 02:06:54 | Speaker 1:

best pie ever that her pie was the best pie ever okay so and you there's my meg so so my girlfriend is not the jealous type she is uh not jealous not the jealous type when it comes when it comes to girls she sees me looking at hot girls on instagram and stuff but i made the mistake of complimenting another woman's pie and i realized oh no there's no complimenting another woman's cooking that's

02:06:54 - 02:07:22 | Speaker 5:

where she got jealous yes and i realized my mistake immediately so you said all this on the air and we said well wait a second are you sure that you're being genuine and telling your girlfriend meg that her pie was the best pie ever because you were so excited about this other pie that was made and I'm wondering if maybe you were just fearful of having your girlfriend you know be upset with

02:07:22 - 02:07:50 | Speaker 1:

you well it was really so I said remember that pie remember that woman Tricia who makes pies and it was like the best pie I've ever had and then that's where I realized I was making a mistake because it all came up because Meg was going to make the same key lime pie for Thanksgiving and I didn't realize I wasn't even giving her a chance To show me she can make a key lime pie Am I getting this right Meg at all Or am I digging myself into a further hole

02:07:50 - 02:07:56 | Speaker 2:

No you made an assumption Without you know Oh there we go

02:07:56 - 02:07:57 | Speaker 5:

Okay say what you were going to say again

02:07:57 - 02:08:07 | Speaker 2:

Yeah he made an assumption Without accuracy Without experiencing the other side So I had to He had to experience your pie

02:08:07 - 02:08:12 | Speaker 5:

Is your pie by the way Is your pie more fruit-filled?

02:08:12 - 02:08:15 | Speaker 2:

I think it's more decadent. More decadent?

02:08:15 - 02:08:17 | Speaker 5:

You have a decadent pie?

02:08:17 - 02:08:17 | Speaker 4:

Yes.

02:08:18 - 02:08:19 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my gosh.

02:08:19 - 02:08:26 | Speaker 4:

I saw that pie. It's a little tiny. Who are you? Oh, this is the pie lady. This is the pie. Her pie is tiny.

02:08:27 - 02:08:27 | Speaker 3:

Did you see it?

02:08:27 - 02:08:32 | Speaker 5:

It's a tiny pie. I'll be honest with you. I like everything big, so I like big pies.

02:08:32 - 02:08:36 | Speaker 3:

Mine's a little fluffy. I saw them side by side a minute ago. Mine's a little fluffy.

02:08:36 - 02:08:36 | Speaker 5:

Yours is fluffy.

02:08:36 - 02:08:39 | Speaker 3:

Yours is a little small. Wow. Is that homemade?

02:08:39 - 02:09:18 | Speaker 5:

Can we side-by-side your pies next to each other so we can just see what they look like side-by-side? Let's do a physical muscle. Let me tell you about Tricia. Let me introduce her first. First off, let me introduce this contest that we're doing here right now. It is the Great American Pie-Off. Where we are going to decide this morning who has the best pie. Is it Spike's girlfriend, Meg, or is it Trisha who's here with us this morning? Welcome, ladies, to the Mojo in the Morning show right now. It's nice to have you guys here.

02:09:18 - 02:09:50 | Speaker 1:

So I met Trisha for the first time. I got to taste Trisha's pie for the first time. A year ago, I hosted a charity event for Camp Make a Dream, an amazing organization and charity for kids to go off and experience camping, kids that face terminal illness and really in other challenges that would never get to go on in camping like they hear their classmates do when they're young and i was hosting a charity dinner and trisha was the chair put together an amazing organization she also happens to make pies and really what's the pie cut what's

02:09:50 - 02:10:00 | Speaker 3:

the what's your company called trisha's tasty treats trisha's tasty treats people can buy these right they can go where can they go on my instagram they can message me or you can go

02:10:00 - 02:10:17 | Speaker 4:

downtown rochester there's did you know that megan they're sold in restaurants my pies they're sold to rolloo in rochester the hemingley room it feels like the beginning of a corner bar has them mike this is gonna be so good the west wind golf course you do you know about my pies you heard about right feels like the beginning of a ufc fight where they're just staring at each

02:10:17 - 02:10:29 | Speaker 2:

i tried to separate them i set the microphones up on either side of me but now they're sitting next to each other and i feel like there's gonna be a cat fight there's gonna be a pie fight and I'm the one that's going to be in the doghouse at the end of this.

02:10:30 - 02:10:34 | Speaker 1:

Megan, where's our Megan at? Oh, Megan's preparing for the dirty. Is she preparing for the dirty?

02:10:34 - 02:10:35 | Speaker 2:

No, she's bringing the pies in.

02:10:35 - 02:11:03 | Speaker 1:

Oh, she's bringing the pies in. I don't know why she has to sit out in the hallway. I need her possibly to referee this UFC fight that's about to happen here right now. All right, so, okay, so Tricia professionally makes pies. Megan, you do this out of love. By the way, Megan, you came into Spike's life, and this guy does nothing but eat, it seems like now. Now, we only have one room for one fat person on this show, and you cannot be doing this to him.

02:11:03 - 02:11:19 | Speaker 2:

Hey, hey, hey, I'm in shape. Round is a shape. And let me just say, even when I met Meg, remember there was that big lettuce recall, the E. coli outbreak, and I was like, you know what? Healthy eating is dangerous. No one ever died eating a pie.

02:11:19 - 02:11:30 | Speaker 1:

By the way, you work out a lot, right, Megan? Yeah, I do. You're an exercise fan. I know that you love to work out. Has he ever worked out with you at all? Does he ever go to exercise with you?

02:11:31 - 02:11:37 | Speaker 3:

He's really good at lifting a giant pint of beer. Is he? Yeah, he's great at that.

02:11:37 - 02:11:40 | Speaker 1:

So he's never gone to the gym with you or been to the gym with you?

02:11:40 - 02:11:43 | Speaker 2:

When we first started dating, we did some dates at the gym.

02:11:43 - 02:11:45 | Speaker 1:

Really? And what would you do while you were there?

02:11:46 - 02:11:48 | Speaker 2:

No, I actually worked out.

02:11:48 - 02:11:53 | Speaker 1:

Would he talk the whole time? He was trying to be on his best behavior before he figured out if he can get you or not.

02:11:53 - 02:11:58 | Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah, he'd go to the gym with me all the time. But, you know, then it kind of slowly petered off.

02:11:59 - 02:12:07 | Speaker 2:

Then we moved in together, and now she's cooking for me all the time. And I've already determined it's not even 2023 yet. And I already know I'm going to be wearing a T-shirt in the pool next summer. Unbelievable. It's already bad. Yeah.

02:12:08 - 02:12:15 | Speaker 1:

All right. So let's get to this right now. Megan, are you ready? Are Megan? Yeah, I'm ready. Megan, does this bother you still that you now have taken second fiddle in Megan's?

02:12:16 - 02:12:21 | Speaker 4:

I've always been the second fiddle my entire life. So really, I'm just used to this at this point.

02:12:21 - 02:12:24 | Speaker 1:

No. You're my number one, Megan. Megan, how's your pie, by the way?

02:12:24 - 02:12:29 | Speaker 2:

Your pie good? Megan, you're my number one, too, alphabetically in my phone, because you spell it weird.

02:12:29 - 02:12:37 | Speaker 1:

All right, so this is a battle between Spike's girlfriend, Meg's Pie, and Trisha from Trisha's Pies.

02:12:38 - 02:12:39 | Speaker 4:

Trisha's Tasty Treats.

02:12:39 - 02:12:41 | Speaker 1:

Trisha's Tasty Treats in Rochester.

02:12:42 - 02:12:45 | Speaker 2:

What is this? They handed me this and said it's a blindfold. Is this Santa's belt?

02:12:46 - 02:13:08 | Speaker 1:

That's it, yeah. Santa's outside holding his pants up right now. Megan, can you tie this around his back? Not my neck. Tie it around. Not my mouth. Megan, show Megan. We're going to have to. Megan won, Megan. So tie that around us. So tie that around here. And what are we on right now? Are we just taping this or are we Facebook?

02:13:08 - 02:13:09 | Speaker 3:

Should we hop on Facebook Live?

02:13:10 - 02:13:12 | Speaker 1:

You know what? This might not be a bad Facebook Live.

02:13:12 - 02:13:13 | Speaker 3:

Let's hop on Facebook Live.

02:13:13 - 02:13:15 | Speaker 1:

Have we Facebooked Live in a while or no?

02:13:15 - 02:13:18 | Speaker 3:

No, we did our live stream for the delivery this morning. Okay, let's do it.

02:13:18 - 02:13:35 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, let's do it. And then when we do that, let me reintroduce this to the audience on Facebook. We're doing the Great American Pie Off right now. Nope. Any of our listeners? Hey, any of our listeners? Would you like to? Whose pie would you like to taste? Hello, Mojo in the Morning.

02:13:36 - 02:13:44 | Speaker 2:

The funniest part is you're blindfolding me with some sweaty Santa belt, but I didn't see the pies or who carried them in.

02:13:44 - 02:14:09 | Speaker 1:

Facebook Live, welcome. Real quick, let me do this big intro here. We're right now doing a pie off. Spike, his girlfriend, Meg, her pie versus Trisha's Tasty Treats pies, which Spike has said before was the tastiest key lime pie ever until he had his girlfriend Meg's pie. And then he said he'll never put his face into any pie ever again if it's not Meg's.

02:14:10 - 02:14:17 | Speaker 2:

And Mojo saw an opportunity to get me in trouble for the whole weekend. Yes. By risking me complimenting the wrong pie.

02:14:17 - 02:14:34 | Speaker 1:

Megan, you know the pie, right? You know the pie? You know which pie is which pie. All right. So let's give Spike the taste of the very first pie, okay? Well, first of all, I need a fork. And then Spike has to tell us which pie he likes as the best pie ever.

02:14:34 - 02:14:37 | Speaker 2:

Okay. All right. There you go. Is this pie on this plate?

02:14:37 - 02:14:38 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

02:14:38 - 02:14:40 | Speaker 2:

Maybe you could put it on my fork for me.

02:14:40 - 02:14:41 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no. Don't help him.

02:14:42 - 02:14:43 | Speaker 2:

But I can't see.

02:14:44 - 02:14:47 | Speaker 1:

We don't want anybody to think there's cheating going on, Spike's Meg.

02:14:47 - 02:14:48 | Speaker 3:

You got it.

02:14:48 - 02:14:48 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

02:14:48 - 02:14:52 | Speaker 1:

There we go. Is there pie on my plate? By the way, Meg, do you ever feed him, too?

02:14:53 - 02:14:54 | Speaker 3:

No, we haven't gotten to that point.

02:14:54 - 02:15:00 | Speaker 1:

You haven't gotten to that point? By the way, you understand you're much younger than him. You potentially are going to have to.

02:15:00 - 02:15:02 | Speaker 5:

to feed him one day and change his diaper.

02:15:02 - 02:15:04 | Speaker 3:

We had this discussion last night, actually.

02:15:04 - 02:15:07 | Speaker 5:

Are you willing to do that? Are you willing to change this man's diapers later in life?

02:15:08 - 02:15:10 | Speaker 3:

I'll probably ship him off somewhere.

02:15:10 - 02:15:22 | Speaker 5:

Okay. All right. Some more bad, too. There's plenty of places for him, yes. Go ahead, try it. Okay. All right. Try that pie. Get in there and try that pie.

02:15:23 - 02:15:28 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. Okay, that is a good pie.

02:15:28 - 02:15:29 | Speaker 5:

Okay. All right.

02:15:29 - 02:15:49 | Speaker 4:

That is amazing. I wish I was on the Food Network and I knew how to compliment things 10 different ways like they do. But that is the right balance of key lime tartness with a sweet graham cracker crust. Some kind of whipped something on top. And it's not just the best tasting pie. It's the right texture because a lot of people get the texture wrong.

02:15:49 - 02:15:50 | Speaker 5:

Well, you have to try the other one first.

02:15:52 - 02:15:56 | Speaker 4:

I'm trying to compliment both in case I name the wrong one the winner and get in trouble.

02:15:56 - 02:15:59 | Speaker 5:

Trisha, are you in a happy marriage or relationship?

02:15:59 - 02:16:03 | Speaker 1:

Oh, very much so. My husband, Jimmy, and I are so happy. We have two beautiful boys together.

02:16:03 - 02:16:07 | Speaker 5:

Because I just want to make sure that Spike has a place to go to if he does the wrong pie.

02:16:08 - 02:16:12 | Speaker 4:

Okay. There's already pie on the fork? Yeah. Okay. Megan's feeding me now.

02:16:13 - 02:16:16 | Speaker 5:

This is the second one. All right. Second pie.

02:16:17 - 02:16:21 | Speaker 4:

I just ate the microphone. And now I'm going to get Listeria, E. coli, and COVID.

02:16:23 - 02:16:26 | Speaker 5:

All right. It's the pie off here right now, guys.

02:16:27 - 02:16:49 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my gosh. Mm, no. Oh, that one That is light and fluffy And yet it had a lingering sweetness Which I really like Oh, that's amazing Okay They're both good I'm going to risk my life here

02:16:49 - 02:16:52 | Speaker 3:

You better pick my pie, babe I'm nervous

02:16:52 - 02:17:01 | Speaker 4:

Because the door on our house Has a combination lock And it might be changed when I get home but I'm going to say the second pie is the best pie.

02:17:01 - 02:17:02 | Unknown:

Oh.

02:17:03 - 02:17:05 | Speaker 5:

The second pie is the best pie? Whose pie is that?

02:17:06 - 02:17:07 | Speaker 4:

For sure it is the best pie.

02:17:07 - 02:17:29 | Speaker 5:

It's Trisha's pie. Oh. It's Trisha's pie. Wow. Oh, Trisha's pie. Wait, I wasn't finished myself. Oh, no. Oh, no. Trisha's tasty treats beats Spike's girlfriend Meg's pie. Oh, no. Maybe. Yes, Meg, I'm sorry.

02:17:29 - 02:17:32 | Speaker 3:

So, Tricia has an announcement to make, though.

02:17:32 - 02:17:32 | Speaker 5:

What's that?

02:17:33 - 02:17:35 | Speaker 3:

I made both pies.

02:17:35 - 02:17:48 | Speaker 5:

Oh, no. Oh, I love it. Oh, my God. Oh, that's funny. Oh, thank God. Oh, that is good. Give it up for Tricia and Meg. Yeah.

02:17:53 - 02:18:05 | Speaker 4:

Oh, the pie challenge. See, that's what I was going to say. I was going to say it was hard to choose because I feel like the one I had at Thanksgiving was even better than these, but I couldn't remember. No, these are both so good. Can I take the blindfold off now?

02:18:06 - 02:18:21 | Speaker 5:

No, no, we want you to leave that there because we also are going to let the women beat you with their pies. I also want to keep the rest of the pies. Can we throw the pie in his face right now? Meg, will you give him a little pie challenge? Wow, that was unbelievable.

02:18:21 - 02:18:24 | Speaker 4:

I'm sweating because I seriously thought I was going to be in trouble.

02:18:24 - 02:18:27 | Speaker 5:

That was unbelievable, you guys. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh.

02:18:27 - 02:18:29 | Speaker 4:

I'm eating both of these, by the way.

02:18:29 - 02:18:34 | Speaker 5:

By the way, what a plot twist. That was like the plot twist of plot twist right there. That was amazing.

02:18:34 - 02:18:41 | Speaker 4:

That was a mean scam, a little prank you pulled on me. But also, thank you because, Tricia, you probably saved my relationship.

02:18:42 - 02:18:43 | Speaker 5:

Tricia, where can you get your pie?

02:18:44 - 02:18:53 | Speaker 2:

These are sold downtown Rochester. Two Ralu restaurant has them, the Hemingway Room, Rochester Corner Bar, and also Oakland Township, the West Wind Golf Course.

02:18:53 - 02:19:01 | Speaker 5:

Love it. And by the way, I will always say this to everybody. don't save pie for just uh key lime pie for summer have key lime pie year round it's so good i have

02:19:01 - 02:19:08 | Speaker 2:

tons of customers calling me right now they message me on instagram ordering from holidays for parties yeah all kinds of events all the time so not just to the restaurants i sell them

02:19:08 - 02:19:22 | Speaker 5:

people call me to order them too and and megan uh would you say that your pies are your number one uh thing that you do or are you more into other form of cooking and baking i any anything i can

02:19:22 - 02:19:28 | Speaker 3:

fine. Anytime I have anything that I love, I try to recreate it. So I don't have a specialty. I just kind of take a stab at anything.

02:19:28 - 02:19:46 | Speaker 4:

Mojo gave me crap for her birthday. I bought her that. What's that? Mixmaster thing? What's it called? Oh, the mixer. That was the best. But I'm reaping the benefits every week as she's trying new baking techniques, so I win. I'm going to get him Ideal You for Christmas this year. Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

02:19:46 - 02:19:56 | Speaker 5:

Alright, Tricia from Tricia's Tasty Treats. You're going to have to get up because Megan's got to do the dirty, so So stay there for a second. Megan's going to do a quick dirty report. That's okay. You guys hang out. That was awesome, by the way.

02:19:56 - 02:19:59 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I need some of this. This is the rudest thing, that you did this before the dirty.

02:20:00 - 02:20:02 | Speaker 5:

so everybody gets to eat pie while I continue working.

02:20:02 - 02:20:07 | Speaker 4:

Let me also say, I'm not sure who makes the best brownies. If we can have a competition next Friday for brownies.

02:20:09 - 02:20:12 | Speaker 3:

Megan, what's going on in the Dirty on the 30 this morning?

02:20:12 - 02:20:45 | Speaker 5:

Let's start with Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys. He's facing some pretty serious allegations right now. He's been accused of raping a minor back in 2001. Shannon Ruth, she's now 39. She alleges that Nick invited her onto his tour bus, gave her alcohol, Paul then forced himself upon her. She was 17 at the time, and it's just not good. Now, because of these allegations, a Backstreet Boys Christmas special has actually been pulled by ABC. It was supposed to air on December 14th, but it's no longer listed on their holiday specials guide.

02:20:45 - 02:21:11 | Speaker 3:

It's interesting because we talked about that special when we had those guys on, and there's like a ton of celebrities that are part of the whole deal, and that was a major bit of their programming next week. As a matter of fact, they were on Good Morning America or supposed to be on Good Morning America this morning to promote that special, that they were doing that special. So it's interesting that Backstreet Boys have not backed out of other events that they have.

02:21:11 - 02:21:11 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'm kind of expecting it.

02:21:11 - 02:21:16 | Speaker 3:

So this is obviously an ABC thing of them backing out, but we'll see exactly what happens.

02:21:16 - 02:21:50 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. Over a decade in television, can you believe it? David Letterman has interviewed just about everyone, not one decade, decades, plural. He is going to do a really interesting episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. And it's kind of unlike anyone he's ever done before. So the upcoming episode of the Netflix series features Ukrainian President Zelensky in a standalone special filmed on location in Ukraine. He said that planning this trip, I wasn't sure what to expect. I've never done anything like this. And the episode will hit Netflix this Monday. So if you want to check that out.

02:21:50 - 02:22:00 | Speaker 3:

Have we heard from Zelensky on what his thoughts are of President Biden releasing this arms guy, this guy that's known as the Merchant of Death?

02:22:00 - 02:22:04 | Speaker 5:

I haven't looked into that yet, but I'm sure he has. That just happened yesterday.

02:22:04 - 02:22:31 | Speaker 3:

No, I know, but I'm surprised that there hasn't been any comments at all because they're saying that this Merchant of Death guy is a guy that used to help sell the arms for Putin. And and I and I know one of the things that they're saying that Russia is lacking in right now is they're lacking in the ability to be able to fight this war. They're saying that they're running out of, you know, military arms. So I wonder if this has anything to do with them wanting him to be released.

02:22:31 - 02:22:53 | Speaker 4:

These political prisoner negotiations are always so dirty and shady. And it's it's horrible. Like there's certain countries I would never travel to because there's a risk. They have a motivation to look for reasons like they did with Brittany Griner and arresting her for weed, you know, weed in her duffel bag that could put you at risk because there's some of these countries are looking for.

02:22:53 - 02:23:05 | Speaker 3:

Would you go to like, well, first of all, I wouldn't go to Russia, period. But would you go to one of these foreign countries right now, knowing that there's the potential that there's certain countries that they will unjustly detain people because they want to leg up?

02:23:05 - 02:23:20 | Speaker 4:

they have people they want back, and they know how this works, and it's real shady, and it's happened many times before over many administrations where it's like they have a pressure to get people home, and it's at the cost of releasing people that should never be released.

02:23:21 - 02:23:25 | Speaker 3:

Megan, we should talk about that. We should do that story, too, because we did it early this morning.

02:23:25 - 02:23:26 | Speaker 5:

The Brittany Griner story?

02:23:26 - 02:23:47 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. So Brittany Griner released yesterday, and a lot of people are very excited, and we are very excited that she is back and will be on U.S. I don't know if she's landed yet here in the U.S. She did. She did? Well, I don't know if it's U.S., but the exchange happened. I think it was the United Arab Emirates is where she was.

02:23:47 - 02:24:09 | Speaker 2:

Moments ago, standing together with her wife, Sherelle, in the Oval Office, I spoke with Brittany Greiner. She's safe. She's on a plane. She's on her way home. After months of being unjustly detained in Russia, held under intolerable circumstances, Britney will soon be back in the arms of her loved ones, and she should have been there all along.

02:24:09 - 02:24:15 | Speaker 5:

Well, like you guys said, a lot of people were upset that Paul Whelan wasn't included in that. Biden actually did speak about that as well.

02:24:15 - 02:24:25 | Speaker 2:

Russia is treating Paul's case differently than Britney's, and while we have not yet succeeded in securing Paul's release, we are not giving up. We will never give up.

02:24:25 - 02:24:31 | Speaker 5:

Paul Whelan actually was able to voice his opinion on a matter. How was that? Somebody called him, I believe.

02:24:31 - 02:24:37 | Speaker 3:

He was on CNN yesterday afternoon, and I'm like, the guy's in prison. How are they able to get a phone call into this guy?

02:24:37 - 02:24:39 | Speaker 5:

Well, it was like a FaceTime call, too. There was video.

02:24:40 - 02:24:41 | Speaker 3:

Well, they can do TikToks.

02:24:41 - 02:25:32 | Speaker 1:

If a message could go to President Biden that, you know, this is a precarious situation that needs to be resolved quickly. And I would hope that he and his administration would do everything they could to get me home, regardless of the price. they might have to pay at this point. I just need an airplane to come and get me.

02:25:33 - 02:25:36 | Speaker 3:

Why can't we not send Liam Neeson in there to get him?

02:25:37 - 02:25:53 | Speaker 5:

He always gets people home. Sadly, Putin sets the rules for the exchange. No favorite was picked. It's more of what they can get. From the very start, Putin was trying to get this arms dealer out for years. Going back to the Clinton era where they were after this guy.

02:25:53 - 02:25:59 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, they said yesterday that Trump wouldn't release the guy. That was one of the things that they wanted during his administration.

02:25:59 - 02:26:04 | Speaker 5:

And Paul Whelan was detained during the Trump administration, and he couldn't get him out either.

02:26:04 - 02:26:36 | Speaker 3:

Did you see what happened with NBC News? They had another thing happen to them yesterday where they did a story and then completely scrubbed that story. Andrea Mitchell did a story about how, according to her sources, it was U.S. Russia said you can have one of these prisoners, one of these two for the merchant of death and that they chose Brittany Griner as the person to release. Then NBC completely swabbed that off of their website

02:26:36 - 02:26:50 | Speaker 5:

Could they have scrubbed it because their source wasn't legit? I don't know The White House said it was just Brittany Griner His case is way more complicated than weed and luggage. He was caught They say his lawyer, his lawyer said.

02:26:50 - 02:26:53 | Speaker 3:

But does it add up to the merchant of death being released? Neither of them do.

02:26:53 - 02:27:01 | Speaker 5:

That's what's so dirty and disgusting about it is, I mean, like Trump released 5,000 Taliban to get some of our people out. And it's like you hate to see these death criminals.

02:27:01 - 02:27:09 | Speaker 3:

I felt like that was an aloe vila trade, you know, when he was with the Tigers as their general manager. He would do like these crazy trades and would always be a bad trade.

02:27:09 - 02:27:19 | Speaker 5:

And it sucks because all Americans deserve to come home. Like, regardless, it sucks that they're political pawns and it results in these dirty criminals getting out.

02:27:19 - 02:27:32 | Speaker 3:

Whelan's brother was on Channel 7 last night and said that now that the merchant of death is no longer in our custody, he doesn't believe his brother's ever coming home because we don't have anything big enough to give them. So, yes, Megan.

02:27:32 - 02:27:38 | Speaker 2:

Pete Davidson has returned to Instagram, but he's not alone. It was a joint account with Eli Manning.

02:27:39 - 02:27:53 | Speaker 4:

So I heard you don't have Instagram. I don't have Instagram. We should do an Instagram together. Really? Yeah. What would we call it? I don't know. That I figured you could come up with because I'm not. Because you have to come up with play calls and stuff. P-Man? Do you just have a good name? I don't know. P-Manny?

02:27:53 - 02:29:28 | Speaker 2:

P-Manny. Terrible, terrible name for an Instagram account, but they are back. Actually, Pete hasn't been very active or consistently active on Instagram since 2018, but he did unveil a page, and they posted a ton of content yesterday from tattoo reviews to one-handed catches tossing the pigskin around uh no word yet on how active this account will be but they got very popular very quickly yesterday so i think they might be uh looped into this and they might not be able to get out i think it started as a joke and it was way too popular american girls i'll face some backlash for a new book that is encouraging girls to find gender joy with one page reading messages about how bodies should look are different depending on a person's gender girls tend to face more pressure to have thin bodies and long hair and wear clothes like skirts dresses and blouses boys tend to feel more pressure to have a muscular body keep their hair short and wear pants and shorts luckily it's not your job to look the way people expect it's your job to be you so they got a lot of backlash for this and other pages in the book and what was american girls response well they said we value the views and feedback of our customers and acknowledge the perspective on the issue the content of this book is geared for kids 10 and older and was developed in partnership with medical and adolescent care professionals and consistently emphasizes the importance of having conversations and discussing any feelings with parents or trusted adults. So if you see that trending all over the internet today, you know it's about gender joy. Check out all of today's Dirty by going to the Dirty page at mojointhemorning.com. I grew up my whole life

02:29:36 - 02:29:41 | Speaker 3:

the best way. I truly did. I had a Ken doll growing up. Did you know that? I didn't.

02:29:41 - 02:29:42 | Speaker 2:

02:30:36 - 02:30:37 | Speaker 5:

02:30:37 - 02:30:49 | Speaker 3:

I have this computer program, this research lab put together. It actually speaks. Well, watch. I'll give you an example. If I say something into my computer or type it in, it'll speak it with a computerized voice.

02:30:50 - 02:30:55 | Speaker 2:

Okay, thanks. She dedicated her time to working for her family and being the best mom that she could be. My granddaughter, Adriana, was born at 23 weeks. She was in the NICU for five months straight. We was there every day. It caused a lot of emotional and financial tension in the house at that time, and that's when she started struggling. And she was no longer working because she needed to be with that baby. My grandson, Broly, also has health problems, and we were trying to take care of him, and she was also trying to protect her children from a man that she was in a relationship at the time.

02:40:00 - 02:41:03 | Speaker 2:

Oh, they were finally able to get away. However, he took everything and pretty much destroyed or sold everything he could. He's in prison at this time. I watched Marie work so hard to pick up the pieces, and she never gives up. She's a real fighter, and I admire her for that. She's a very hardworking single mom, and she's trying to do it on her own. She's had to live in shelters in the past, and she's lived with friends. And recently, she just got a small apartment, which is really very cool. for her and her kids it's not much but they make it work and they're just grateful they can be together at that point she donates plasma to get extra money to buy groceries and the kids are needing some clothing at this time i just wish this would give her a little light at the end of her tunnel and i i believe it will mojo i just want them to have a christmas to remember i want to see my daughter smile again and well she smiles but smile a little more Thank you guys. Love you. Sincerely, Amy Norris.

02:41:04 - 02:41:06 | Speaker 1:

Amy, you did great. Thank you.

02:41:07 - 02:41:25 | Speaker 3:

Wow. Isn't that beautiful? Mom, can you come here? Did I come here? I know. Hey, Glenn. Mom, thank you. I used to trick when I suck. I hate that. I'm sorry. I'm like a soul of huge fan of you guys. Thank you.

02:41:25 - 02:41:39 | Speaker 1:

Hey, I want you to know, Marie, Marie, there are no greater words that could come out of a pair of a mouth of anybody than to hear your parents talk about how proud they are of you.

02:41:40 - 02:41:43 | Speaker 4:

I know. It really is. Thank you, mom.

02:41:43 - 02:42:00 | Speaker 1:

And the struggles that you have been through to not give up and to keep it together for those beautiful children has honestly been an inspiration for us this holiday season. Because I got to tell you, there are so many of our listeners going through what you're going through right now.

03:01:38 - 03:01:43 | Speaker 8:

Nobody? I don't have like an event or anything but I'm going to Greenfield Village. Oh, nice.

03:01:51 - 03:01:59 | Speaker 8:

I don't know. Is there a better time to go? You can go anytime. No, anytime. You want to go right at dinner time when it's just getting dark because it's so much prettier.

03:01:59 - 03:02:05 | Speaker 7:

My suggestion is that you go at like 3 a.m. There's nobody there, and you can walk through the whole place.

03:02:05 - 03:02:11 | Speaker 8:

Well, the great thing is they do such a limited amount of tickets, so it's never crowded. But I was thinking if they could just do it in July when it's a little warm.

03:02:13 - 03:02:48 | Speaker 7:

Why can't we have this holiday thing in July? Wouldn't it be nice? All right, guys. Have a great weekend. Thanks to everybody that came out to our Jingle Ball this week. 03:03:02 - 03:03:17 | Speaker 2:

You never skip your SPF and you carry hand sanitizer like an accessory. But what are you doing for HIV prevention? One way to help protect yourself from HIV is Apritude, a prescription medicine used to reduce the risk of getting HIV in adults and adolescents weighing at least 77 pounds.

03:03:17 - 03:03:50 | Speaker 3:

You must be HIV negative to receive Apritude and get tested before each injection. If you think you're exposed to HIV or have flu-like symptoms, tell your doctor right away. More HIV testing may be needed. Apertude does not prevent other sexually transmitted infections. Practice safer sex to reduce your risk. Get Apertude as scheduled. Missing doses increases your HIV risk. Don't take Apertude if allergic to it or taking certain medicines that may interact. Tell your doctor about your medical conditions, liver problems, and mental health. Serious side effects include allergic reactions or rash, liver problems, and depression. If these occur, get medical help right away. The most common side effect is injection site reaction.
