Yeah. You know, Els, the bass in Little Caesars Arena last night. Like, my body still feels, this is not sexual, like it's vibrating. Oh. Because. Tell us more. Although after Jason Derulo. Oh, really? Very strange, by the way. Like, grinding and videotaping a half-naked man on stage with my husband right next to me. It was hysterical. Just dripping in sweat Man, he was great

I'm going to say this and Kev's going to get really mad at me But Jason Derulo was way better than Usher last year

I think they just, you know, like having jobs. Here's what I'll say, though. Obviously, I knew Jingle Ball was going to be incredible because it always is. I did not know it was going to be that incredible. Last night blew me away.

Well, I think that we all went into it going, oh, it's a good lineup. It's a good year. I'm telling you guys, I stayed for the entire Jack Harlow. I actually got a chance to sit in a listener suite and watch it, which was awesome. which, by the way, I got a shout-out, Vinny Johnson from the Pistons Bad Boys. Shout-out to Vinny. It was Vinny's suite. So Vinny's suite was awesome, and I watched the entire show. I cannot name an artist that could stand up on stage with no dancers and no background band and could actually get a crowd to do what they did.

He's so freaking talented.

And I think people left after Teddy because I think that they were like, oh, okay, Teddy is who I want to come. You made a huge mistake. Like, that was, last night, one of the best performances I've ever seen. And I know Jack Harlow's talented. I never realized how talented he was.

He can control the crowd.

That's for sure. When he started pointing people out in the crowd.

He's like, you in the green sweater with the pink sign.

I think there are so many people that literally go to a show and never feel like they're even thought of. He thought of everybody. Turn the lights up. Turn the lights up. Yeah, it was great. It was great, man. Um, Cav, by the way, you are a legend in that arena because of all the great work you do with the Pistons. I ran into more security people that are old friends from the Palace days, but also some new friends that I got a chance to meet from the Jingle Balls last. They love you.

I love them. And that's another great thing that Jack Harlow did. If you remember last night, he taught everybody to thank the security guards.

Yeah, it was crazy. But let's talk about the controversy. We got a little bit of a controversy. What? Yes. Let's talk about Kate from Grand Rapids. Let's talk about Kate Arnold. Call her own. And let's talk about the fact that she is officially banned from any of our Mojo in the Morning things with celebrities. She is a celebrity ho. Oh, my God. Yeah. What does she do to deserve that title? Well, we have proof, picture proof. We're taking our shots, our group shot, with Teddy Swims and a pre-show little thing that all the high-paying sponsors got a chance to enjoy. And she, like, photobombed the whole situation. And when I say photobomb, it didn't just jump in the picture. She jumped and grabbed him and commandeered the entire picture. Yeah, I know. Then, when, so Teddy's, Josh Reich is a guy. I grew up in Chicago. Josh Reich and I grew up together. We knew each other for so many years. It was Columbia College in Chicago. Josh is the national for Teddy, which, by the way, we've got to thank him, by the way. Shut up, Reich. He was so good about bringing Teddy here and doing this. Josh goes, who's this lady following us? We got into the studio here, where we're at right now, which was wild. And Teddy Swims had literally asked one of the big burly security guards to, hey, I want to do these liners real quick. Can you just tell her we'll be right with her? And she kept following him and stuff, but he was so kind about it, but yeah. Yeah. You ever, you ever have those people, any of our listeners ever experienced this? There are those people that will never accept. No, that's why she's a great salesperson. I was about to say she won. She's number one in Grand Rapids.

I wanted that kiss though.

Can I, can I tell you another Teddy swims thing? Please. Teddy loves our bar, which by the way, our bar card, I don't think is coming until after January. It was, I guess, back-ordered, yeah. William Sonoma, you guys, get your crap together. We have a really nice bar cart that's coming for our- You're going to curse today. I'm going to. I can't feel it. I can't wait. So, Teddy saw all our alcohol here, and I go to Teddy, I go, he goes, oh my God, look at this. And I go, oh, you're a bourbon fan? He goes, no, no, no. He goes, that is the best tequila ever. He goes, I can never find it in Georgia. And so-

Wait, which one? You didn't let him take it, did you? Remember Christos?

Well, here's the thing. Oh, the big, remember Christos?

It was a special edition of Casa. Yeah, because I got my buddy Louie over the brass mug in Livonia. He'll get us another one. Don't worry. But look what he did for us. He signed the top of it and said.

And he says, I love you, Mojo. Teddy swims. And he said to me yesterday something very cool. When we were on stage, this is not like here at the station. We went back to Little Caesars Arena from here. He comes on stage, which was so cool to be able to, you know, get ready to get in his vibe of what it was going to be like right before getting up on and performing. He and his guys were amazing. And he comes over to me and he goes, Some people call me an artist that nobody, you know, that says, you know, so nice to everybody. He goes, you're the Teddy Swims of radio hosts.

What a freaking compliment. It was awesome.

And he said, I have never in all of the time I've been doing this. And it's not been a long time. He's been, you know, on the block a short time. He said he's never had any on-air radio people give him something. Which is wild because, I mean, hell, if we had merch, I'd give him merch too. But we gave him booze.

I will not be calling you Teddy Mojo. I just want to throw that out there.

What did you guys think? First off, The Door, which I just started the show with, I'm a fan of it. I'm obsessed. I've listened to it 17 times, I think, since he performed it on stage. I listened to it on the way home. I listened to it this morning on the way in.

He's one of those artists, so I like all of the songs of his that we play, but he's one of those artists that when you see live, And I don't know, being very honest, that I would buy a ticket to a Teddy Swim show before last night. When you see him live, you instantly become a fan. He's so talented. He's so engaging. He is just a phenomenal performer. And watching him interact with everybody yesterday before and during the show, like personally behind the scenes, he's just a kind person, genuinely. Special.

Really, really special. The listeners were awesome. You guys scared me for a little bit. I saw some stage right a little bit lighter up there, which was an area that I knew sold out because I could tell you that the lower bowl, you couldn't get a ticket. And I was like, where the hell are everybody? You know, like when, uh, uh, Juan Ho and NCT Dream were up there.

Juan Ho. Okay. Well, wait a second. Juan Ho. K-pop fans are crazy. They say it. So we're saying it wrong the whole time. Holy cow, you guys scared me.

The entire time we're saying it wrong. Literally the entire time.

Oh, geez.

But they gave out those Capital One Jingle Ball blue-lit antlers at the door. And if you got there early enough, that's how you got them. All of those green things you saw in the air, they brought those. That's like a K-pop thing. Oh, really? They brought them. I thought that those were given out. Are you kidding me? They brought that to the show.

There were thousands of them. I had no idea. But it was funny because the girls were coming up and finding me and DMing me and asking for the confetti that popped during NCT Dream set. And I'm like, they didn't touch this confetti. I didn't know that this was a thing, but okay.

The crowd, though, got jamming. I mean, it was jamming. By the time Derulo got up on stage and then Saweetie and Teddy, And we had we had a Jared Goff, Jared Goff chant, which we got to play this morning on the air because that was amazing. I mean, you know that you can't go anywhere in Detroit or anywhere around the world where there's Lions fans without Jared Goff being mentioned. And then we had Theo, who's going to join us this morning, who sings the Lions Roar fight song.

Yeah, shout out to Theo.

Theo was, by the way, you know what? He was so excited about Teddy and him because he and Teddy ended up spending some time together. and now Theo's going to do the door this weekend at a performance that he's going to do. And he told him and he said it was his, we'll have to ask him what Teddy said to him about doing that.

And we gave away a car. And we gave away a car. Oh my God, is that unbelievable? We gave away a car. A really nice car. Yeah.

Got a lot of stuff today. So starting off with Jamie Foxx, he talked about his recent health crisis in his new Netflix special, What Happened, or What Had Happened Was, excuse me, which premiered yesterday. And he recalled how two years ago, he was suffering from a blinding headache. That's how this all started. And then he couldn't remember anything for the three weeks following that. His sister finally took him to a hospital in Atlanta where a doctor diagnosed him with having a brain bleed that led to a stroke.

Me Me man, me Wow Here's the thing When you dream about what you want to be You don't dream tragedy You dream everything is good I got the life I got the cars, I got all that you don't dream that something must go wrong but when something does go wrong you need a sister four foot eleven full of nothing but love

he also blamed white women he was joking obviously but blamed white women for what happened to him he love white women who doesn't But, like, the mother of his two daughters, both moms, are white women, which is funny. Okay, more on this shooting suspect. Luigi Mangione, the suspect accused of fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, intends to plead not guilty to the charges against him, including murder, and will resist extradition to New York. That is according to his attorney.

I was not at the arraignment yesterday. I hope he pled not guilty. I assume that that's what happened. But today, when I entered my appearance, and for the record, he's pleading not guilty to those guys.

So this guy charged with all sorts of things, from carrying a firearm without a license to providing false identification to law enforcement.

been denied bail and as officers were leading him inside the prison yesterday he was shouting to the press calling the proceedings an insult to the intelligence of the american people

yeah kind of hard to hear there but the mcdonald's uh google had to step in was getting tens of

thousands of bad reviews, the McDonald's where he was found, because of his being turned in to the police. And they're saying that people are giving death threats to the employees of that McDonald's as well as to the police of that town where he was, saying that they're going to kill him unless they release him, which is interesting. There is one spot, though, that I guess is a bright spot for those McDonald's employees. Obviously, nobody wants a death threat for them. but the mcdonald's employee that turned him in it looks like is going to get that fifty thousand

dollar so are they because i heard because they didn't call crime stoppers and they called 9-1-1

i i heard that there's so much media scrutiny okay that they're gonna probably force them to do that because honestly the person that turned him in which they don't want to be identified now they're not worried heck no because of the the death threats but did you see the youtube video

I need to look into that one, if it was real or not. Was that real? I believe it was real. He posted something along the lines of, there are scheduled videos to be posted over the next couple of days. He alluded to in the near future. But if you're seeing this, I've been arrested.

Oh, wow. Yeah. So he was prepared. He knew what he was doing and what was going to happen.

Which is interesting that the lawyer is now pleading not guilty because if your client has scheduled videos coming out explaining why they did it, Not going to help you're not guilty, please.

And lastly, Jason Kelsey is in the clear after making headlines last month for smashing that guy's phone in response to the dude saying an anti-gay slur to Jason. And then Jason threw one back. That happened on ESPN's college game day before the Penn State-Ohio State game. He later apologized for his behavior. But Penn State police announced yesterday that nobody has come forward with a complaint about their phone being destroyed by Jason Kelsey. So he's off the hook. He's all good. That's done. Stephen grew up without his dad being there. Michael's dad sadly passed away. The boys were both ultimately raised by their grandmothers. And so she ended it ended the trip early and ended their relationship and i'm told that they have not seen each other in person since that weekend so that's that they seem like it's like that breakup and makeup well they've already done that a couple of times but i'm sure they get back together can i

say this can we ban them from the dirty if that happens like where we just say to ourselves all right enough already we're you know what i mean if they get back together after this other than just being together to take care of a child. I've seen artists that have come and gone, and I've seen artists that have been here forever. And there was a guy sitting in front row, and I went out to go say, hey, because I wanted to go out and watch a little bit of Jason Derulo. And the guy goes, yeah. He goes, my wife, I wish she was here with you. And I go, where is she at? And I'm thinking maybe she had to go to the bathroom or something. And he goes, oh, she's right over there. And it was like not, you know, way up at the top, but it was, you know, a little bit further up. I mean, she was like in the back area there. And I go, huh, why is she there and you're here? Right. And he said, well, he said, we got two free tickets from you guys by winning at 730 in the morning. And then I said, I'm going to buy tickets, too, and we're going to bring our friends. So me and, and he shows me his buddy, are sitting here, and our wives are sitting there. And I said, you guys are my men. I wanted to high five them. I'm like, yeah, put the women in the back. Right? Divorce. You know what I mean? Wow. No, I don't. There's nothing wrong. There's nothing wrong with guys standing up for themselves, you know? Come on, guys. We're not. I said to him, I go. I shut up. I said to him, I go, why did that happen that way? He thought that our tickets would have been better tickets than the front row tickets or whatever that he bought, and he bought them on, like, StubHub or whatever. I'm like, are you an idiot? Do you not look at the actual row numbers? Exactly. Show up. It was crazy. And then the other story I got to tell you guys, this is a great one. So top-notch party bus limousines are the official transportation of me. Of me? I literally use them all the time. I use them all the time. The Mojo in the Morning Show. And I know we used them yesterday, too, for our, you know, event, for getting clients and stuff over to the event. And thank you to Lori. Oh, Lori's the best. I use them for my wedding. I use them all the time, too. Yeah. And seriously, you know, Ramon, everybody over there, we love you. But Mike, the driver, was driving last night. And let me tell you something about Mike. You guys, so I'm I just want to stand in solidarity with all of the other moms and dads who have elves visiting their house at this time of year. I feel you. I see you. I think I'm kind of one of the weird ones because I actually like our elves, but it's it is a lot of work. to have an elf. Rice Krispie Treat or something like that? Yeah, you have a good memory. Yeah, Rice Krispie Treat came to our house when Lucy was three years old and then because of a little mishap one year going back and forth between mom and dad's house, we added another elf called Candy Cane Sprinkle something, something, something.

Yeah.

And we also have elf pets now. So we have two dogs and a reindeer. I mean, it has gotten out

of control. I can't believe it. Somebody showed me the other day, actually our friends, they have, Their kids have elf babies. How are the elves making babies? Should we be doing that? Is it an immaculate conception? No, I don't know. Well, you know, I used to have my Barbies make babies. You know, Barbie and Ken dolls. That's a little different.

That's why I wasn't allowed to have Ken dolls.

Because of that?

I really wasn't. So I would cut the hair off of a Barbie and make her a boy. Wow. Because my mom wouldn't let me have that. Anyway, I digress. I'm pretty darn sure that Lou is on to the Christmas secret. it and the verdict is still out on smith because he's smart and obviously has older siblings uh and cousins but a few months back he mentioned that he had found a ziploc bag full of elves under his oh no dad and somebody screwed up okay and so she actually came up with a good a good excuse for why that had happened his stepmom did um but i think he was still like i am not so sure about this so all summer long i was having to answer questions about the elves and the magic and where they live during the off season and whatever um so it was my mission and west's mission this year to restore the magic and keep it going for at least another year he's only seven okay and so our elves have come back and i'm gonna pat myself on the back because and you can use this parents we did one that he is now exclaiming and telling everybody that they have to be real because they couldn't do this if they weren't real and we we have one of those instax cameras do you know what those are they're like yeah they're like that's there yeah they're like little polaroid cameras but the photos are come out really little you can get them at like target or walmart or wherever and so i went around after the kids were sleeping and the elves took selfies with the kids, with the dogs, with Wes and I sleeping. And because we got one with Wes and I sleeping together in one photo and the elves in between us, he was like, how is that possible? If you guys were both sleeping and the elves took photos and then we like scattered the photos around the house. That's magic.

Can I ask the listeners to call in with their like craziest, terrifying elf story of how the elf literally almost became like a situation in your house that ruined the holidays because everybody has one. Like when I talked to friends and even back when we had an elf, we had Lily. Lily ate the elf, and that was a bad one.

Honestly, I'm always worried about Bo, my puppy, who's just naughty. There is a video that trends every year of a little kid running with the elf in his hand while his sister is screaming, Let him go! And it's so funny to me that the kid's just standing there holding it, not dropping it. And the other one's freaking out.

There's a thing online that you have to do. It's almost like a seance or something where you're supposed to do something to make the elf get his magic back. And all I'm thinking to myself is now that they're having babies and stuff, they are setting our kids up.

We had a boy elf doing our family this year because Wes and Sam and Kieran moved in, and they have an elf, Freddy. Wait, why do they have an elf? Those kids are in high school. They had an elf, and the elf just doesn't go away. Even when you're in high school, you keep that elf forever.

I didn't drink at all, so I don't feel as hungover as I did. I actually only got three hours sleep, and my sleep score on my Oura Ring was great. So I had a good one. I actually, believe it or not, got a 68, which is amazing for only three hours of sleep. But this is going to make me feel amazing. I'm going to go home, and I'm going to be all over my wife after I get some of this stuff. It's that super juice. It's going to be so good. So what is this that we're going to do? We're going to do an IV of?

Meyers cocktail. So a little bit of everything. It has your vitamin C, your minerals. It's going to give you an energy boost, your B-complex. Which is good. It'll make you feel amazing.

A lot of times, I've come, literally, I've come to you and Siobhan to do this when I've had COVID, when I had a flu, all that stuff. And within probably less than 24 hours, maybe 10 or so hours, I felt like a new man. It's craziness. I love it. And I know a lot of people do this when they're hungover. But this is truly something. Yes, actually. So the song has been around since the 30s, and back in the Silverdome. In the Silverdome, there was another guy. His name was Noah Duncan, and they had a band. They had a four band and everything in the Silverdome.

I remember that back in, so that was actually in the early, I remember that then, I guess, what, in the early 2000s. First off, I remember going to Silverdome and they had Bob's Big Boy. That was like, that was where we would eat Bob's Big Boy. Shout out to Bob's Big Boy. And we would worry that it was going to leak on us because the roof would sometimes get leaky.

Right, right, right. No, those were good times. The Silverdome was good times, but when they came to Fort Field, they didn't have the same real estate. Honestly, and hopefully there are individuals, Ms. Ford, especially you, but anybody from the Lions organization, you have to do more stuff, bro, because your energy and what you bring to that game, I know they have an incredible game staff and presenters and all of that. They got to figure out a way to incorporate you in more things.

I appreciate that, man, from your mouth to God's ears, right? Come on, now. Theo, this might be a personal question. So they give you tickets for every game so that you can be there. And the players just love you? Yes. I mean, you know, because it's just the whole vibe in there is pretty cool. And obviously when it's time for me to do my thing, it's tied to something great that's happening in the stadium. So people always want to hear that more. 0-16, I want to talk about that.

was how she took it am i wrong in assuming that you have to ask her that's what i'm asking yeah she was she was actually like being very detailed and explaining to me how i could use the app and track my macros and calories and proteins and carbs and you know i've struggled with body issues my whole life and i really didn't expect the conversation to be centered

Like when I'm eating, I log it because if I don't, I'll forget. And that's how I hold myself accountable. But I also think it's super inappropriate to do on a date. Like that's the one time I would wait until afterwards. And also we is just so sensitive for everybody.

Have you ever been on a date where, cause I go out to eat with you and first off, you always have eaten slow, like really slow to the point where literally I'm like, are we going to be here all day?

This is not fair. He interviews me during our meals. So I don't have time to eat.

Literally, she had two pieces of sushi while I ate, like, five rolls. Well, so have you ever been on a date where somebody's commented how little you have eaten?

No, truly, the only person I struggle eating with is you.

And not in a bad way. You will ask a very interesting, thought-provoking question, and it's not a simple answer. So then I elaborately answer while you're eating, and then by the end, I'm like, uh.

I know some people who don't like to eat in front of others. Yeah. They feel judged. So they'll eat a little bit at a time? Sure. They carry it home with them. Even if they're hungry, though.

Chelsea and I, our first dates were at Olive Garden for all-you-can-eat salad and breadsticks. I remember you saying that. So we ate, so that was good.

I don't think anybody did anything wrong here. Like you said, I think it's a big misunderstanding. But I can see, like Megan said, weight is a touchy subject. but i could also see that it would be very annoying and frustrating to date somebody who is constantly um making it like you you log your stuff i don't even know you're doing it right but there are some people who are like my meal is not macro balanced we need to go you know we need to order something different or we need that could get a little old real fast i agree i agree

Well, good morning. No, I was just saying that I think because she mentioned she's already a little sensitive about the weight topic. So once that was brought up, I think, you know, her guard goes up and she's just a little closed off. And the other girl was just maybe really interested in it and like, oh, let me tell you about this thing that I know and that I'm doing for myself.

But can I be fair to Melina in this situation? Because I feel sometimes people are passionate about tracking stuff or going to the gym. And I get that. But we also forget some people struggle with eating disorders or heavily tracked their stuff to an extreme point. So even though you're excited about it, it can bring back really bad moments for other people.

I think that she did the right thing to ghost her. It is inappropriate that you meet someone for the first time and you want to log your meal. she could have taken a picture of her meal, logged it later, or maybe had interaction a little bit longer to kind of pick up on the cues of, you know, what this woman is all about. It sounds like she wasn't there to really get to know her.

Well, let me ask her. In hindsight, Melina, do you think you would have handled it differently knowing how Claire reacted to this?

Yeah. I'm still surprised it's an issue and that she took it that way. But, yeah, definitely.

Claire, do you think that you would ever think about giving a second date?

I mean, it's just like maybe. I'm just, it's something that I struggle with. So somebody constantly, like, tracking their thing and it being in my face and spoken about is a bit much for me.

I was not at the arraignment yesterday. I hope he pled not guilty. I assume that that's what happened. But today, when I entered my appearance, and for the record, he's pleading not guilty to those fans.

He kind of lost his mind when he was walking into the courthouse yesterday screaming to the press.

It's completely out of touch. It's an insult to the intelligence of the American people.

how difficult it would have been to prosecute look at public opinion on the guy i mean i've never seen in my life people that are cheering for a guy that murdered somebody yeah but but i I will say this, that YouTube, Shannon brought up this morning, you can listen to the 630 Dirty, there's YouTube videos that could be released or maybe used as evidence now in court, or he might have given the people. They're going to look at every person that he talked to on the phone since, just before that murder took place, because I bet you that those people might get brought into some things with this.

Because we have now done, I think, maybe five or six of them on people that are of Lydia's Chaldean heritage and religion and everything. Chaldeans are Iraqi Catholics. Now, that was one of the most classic ones. Lydia's mom was right up there. So you'll hear that coming up after this next topic. So we will have that for you. So there was one time, there was one time, so we were on defense. So it's usually safe. It's usually safe to go to the restroom then. I never go, obviously, when we had a ball. But we were on defense, and I went to the restroom, and we ended up getting a turnover. Oh. We got a turnover, and it was like, it was a pick six. Oh, no. It was a pick six. So I ran out of the restroom, because luckily, thank God. Did you zip up? I zipped up. I zipped up. So they have the radio version going on in the restroom. Which is delayed a little bit, isn't it? A little bit, but I was good with Dan Miller and Lombs Brown. A little bit, but I flew out of there, and so I had my microphone in my back pocket. I turned around and luckily the security guard was following me. And they handed it off to me. It was like a handoff, like golf in Montgomery last week. And I made it, but yes, that has happened.

For those, Kevin, that are either new to the show

or newer right now and haven't listened to us or our podcast in a while, you've got to catch up. Kevin made a big announcement that he and his girlfriend have broken up and that you and Shirella are going to go your separate ways, and you guys have had some struggles that have been going on for the past few months. Yeah, about six months. Six months, which we're happy that you are doing well and we're happy that we hear Shirella's doing well.

Yeah.

um but uh this is an interesting one because you guys are both got family going on here you got kids and stuff so you had something very interesting though happen with josiah your son

so josiah is 11 years old for those who don't know i have shared parenting with his mother jasmine so um shirell is not josiah's biological mom so like mojo said i've been going through some things. And six months ago, Shirelle and I, we split ways. And obviously some days are better than others, but I'm in a much, much, much better place on a consistent level than I was earlier on. So blessed and thankful for that. So Josiah obviously is aware of what's going on and has been aware for some time. And as a parent, you want your children to be the happiest that they can possibly be. And right now, I feel like the thing that would make Josiah the happiest is for a new relationship to commence, and that relationship being between myself and his mother.

Oh.

And he started to drop little hints here and there, and one of them being, just to give you an example, when I dropped him off to her house two days ago, I gave him, like, you know, he in the car, give him a kiss on the cheek. He gets out of the car, he's like, don't you want to come in and give mom a kiss? Like, these are things that he would never say. Like, he's never said that.

And is he saying it in a jokey way? Or is he like, it's like half joking, half serious.

It's half joking. Yeah. Initially, and this isn't the first time that he said it.

He would joke about that? Never. Not until you say half joking. You really, I mean, you think he was really joking or you think he's probably serious?

When I ask, because I mean, I talked to Josiah like I talked to y'all. And I've done that ever since, you know, ever since he was born. So we have real conversations. I was like, are you, do you, you think that, you know, or would you like from your mother and I to get together? And he's like, you know, you know, he's I'm like, you keep saying these things. He's like, I'm just joking. But I asked his therapist about it, too. And she said that he brought it up in therapy. So I don't think that he's fully joking. Yeah, he's I mean, and what child doesn't want that? Right. I mean, like, that's what he wants to see his mom and his dad be together. That would be perfect for him not to have to wake up on Christmas and like FaceTime somebody. He want to be there.

Have you asked his mom if she does the same to her where he says she's mentioned it?

Like, I remember having to pee real quick. And, like, we done been – Jasmine and I are in such a better place right now. And I thank God that we've both matured. I was 22 when I had Josiah. She was 21. So we were kids, you know what I mean? And we've gotten to a place now where we're very mature. And we've always put Josiah at the center of it all. And if you visually look at that, that means there's a separation between us. And now we're at a point where we're more together than ever, which is healthy for Josiah. So I'm saying all this to say, for a while, I didn't know where she lived. She didn't know where I lived, and we've lived in different places. Isn't that crazy? Bro, I'm telling you, we was petty as hell like that.

I've been there. Bro, for real. And for Josiah now to be in a place where you're in a much better place with his mom, there is that even more, like, spark of hope. Bro, yeah.

And he can see it, the way that we converse. He can hear the love in our conversation. So I say all that to say I needed to use the bathroom when I picked him up. And, like, for her to, like, allow me to come in and pee is, like, a huge step. So when I hugged Josiah or Josiah hugged his mom to leave, he's like, let's make it a family hug.

And it's like one of the things like, all right. When I wasn't like, damn, I don't really want to do this. But it was those moments that her and I looked at each other like, okay, let's do this for Joe.

And I'm going to ask the question that I already know the answer to, but I want you to answer it for everybody who's listening right now because they're probably thinking it. Is that even a possibility for you and Jasmine to get back together?

I'm a firm believer of never say never because I've done things that I've said I never would. And I felt like things have happened in my life that I thought never would happen. There's a 99.9% chance that it will never happen, though.

I'll leave that point wrong for something. On whose part? Your part? My part, yeah.

I'm a firm believer on standing on business, bro. And you have to put yourself in a position to succeed no matter the situation. and before you love anybody you have to love yourself and when there are things that can contradict that love that you have for yourself and can potentially push you over the

them and they're very very happy well it's interesting and it is in that case it's an interesting one too because their child was older children her children were older so it wasn't like they were little kids so similar to probably josiah too because i wonder sometimes like when you see your kids being little and you know because there has been times i'm sure i'm sure shannon you had this too but you have these moments where your kids are little and you just go, I just want our family.

She wasn't trying to get on like that. I asked her, I vividly remember asking her, this may be like four or five years ago, I'm like, listen, do you want to try this? Do you want to give it a shot? She was like, no, I'm good. I think she was dating somebody else and now they done broke up, so you're lost. Hey, D, what's going on?

I said to her face, she'd know. You chose violence earlier. You have this beautiful thing about

girls and respecting each other and then, ha-ha.

relationship yeah and actually i've had the pleasure uh to talk to josiah's mom just by hearing kev was on speakerphone talking about something arranging something for josiah and i actually said hey i'm gonna interrupt this conversation i am so incredibly proud of the two of you guys for how you guys talk with each other and how you talk about your son i'm blessed And I was very, and this was actually, you and Sherelle were together. And you were, you guys were so kind to each other, but also kind to, you know, the others, too.

And if you think Josiah is amazing, trust me, it's not all me. His mom is a huge piece of why Josiah is who he is.

Yeah, so I had a similar situation where me and my son's dad, we split up. when he was really young before he was a year old and in like early 2003 no 2023 I got really sick and his dad was the one who took care of me and during that we all got back together as like a family and my son was really he loved it at first but then he also kind of struggled because he was so used to us living separately and having you know a routine at his dad's and a routine at his mom so when we all got together he was you know now there's two people who discipline and now there's you know we don't spend a lot of one-on-one time together and so he struggled with that a little bit and then we were together for two years and then we separated again yeah it's

tough you gotta if you're gonna do it you gotta make sure that you're gonna do it and you're gonna you know nothing's ever guaranteed in life but it's almost like one of those things where all you're doing is yo-yoing your kids if it keeps going back and forth and i feel those kids just have to be really stressed out of the whole situation you know yeah i will say this to you uh uh kevin i i really appreciate you bringing this to the air because i think this is about as real as you can possibly get and um i think that it's awesome that josiah does still feel

the love of the two of you and thinks that so important yeah and thinks that mom and dad

potentially could love each other because that means that your relationship is good but also

like Wes always says this to me it's kind of like our mantra like you have to remind your kids kids of of divorced families that they were created in love like at you know at one point in the story there was a lot of love between mom and dad and that you know that that is part of

their story sure wow Erica what's up hey um so my parents um got divorced when I was born and then remarried when I was 18.

Oh, my gosh. How did that make you feel as an adult? All of a sudden you see her, because I would think that it would be icky to see your parents all of a sudden kissing again.

the picture um when i was growing up um i never i never met him um so it was really really tough

for me and um yeah it was really hard but could i ask this did was it because you you had such baggage and and uh trauma from him doing that did you eventually grow to love this

or did it work out um yeah i'll tell you um actually um i i made him pay um like by my love actually for my for some years um which i'm not proud of it was not uh to forgive him for what happiness yeah yeah um because you know um he had other children and and um he was married prior to my mom and then divorced my mom and then had other kids so this was not something i mean it this was like a pattern for him so um are they still together right now yeah yeah after um you know i'm 53 so oh wow okay that's a while back yeah so he's my dad and you know um i have my siblings are you know i have other siblings and you know we're not close i do have one of my sisters um i'm close with one of my sisters so but of my other siblings i'm not really close with um so but um Yes, it was a kind of a learning thing, so, but, yeah.

Does it give you therapy to talk to us? Because, listen, you're talking right now, and I can tell that this is something that is not easy. You probably don't talk about very much, but it sounds to me like this is calling us.

I did go through therapy a lot, and I talked to my friends a lot, and, you know, it did kind of, you know, have a wall with my mom for a little while, but um got through it and you know yeah it it helps talking to it talking to people and i can't

And he was assassinated a week before he was supposed to testify. So the police report, like, I've seen it, named Sports Illustrated model Olivia Ponton, beautiful, as the individual who was on the scene and hanging out at Joe Burrow's home when deputies arrived. Now, she is not his girlfriend. Wait. Olivia Ponton, not his long-term girlfriend.

This is a story about a beautiful, lifelong friendship, a true friendship, best friends. My name is Donna, and I would like to introduce you to Stephen Phillips and Michael Vest. Stephen grew up without his dad being there. Michael's dad sadly passed away. the boys were both ultimately raised by their grandmothers the boys grew up without much and still don't have much to this day they both graduated from high school michael went on to enroll in college while steven found his job steven was even faced with homelessness they have endured countless odds stacked against them and so much heartache but they continue to push forward, work hard, and show kindness to others. this summer can can i actually tell that story the story is pretty awesome uh we ended up calling cedar point and we said to cedar point here's the the deal with breaking entering this is the two guys they thought you guys were such a model of what 20 year old guys should be so they're going to set you guys up with all the tickets all the fun fast passes and everything a stay at the hotel breakers, which is incredible. Plus, we'll give you some spending money that you guys can use while you're at Cedar Point when the weather gets finally warm.

Grandmas are in shock right now, but Grandmas are going to be more in shock when we tell them that we got them stuff, too. We got both of you guys' stuff.

But this is the better part of the story, Deion. Deion, will you tell everybody how we first met you?

Well, back in 2005, my family was a recipient. My wife was battling cancer, and my sister-in-law wrote a letter to you guys, and you granted the wish for my children. Wow. Wow. I love that. That's awesome. I love you, buddy.

I love that. Full circle moment right here. It goes around, man.

I know you're from Southgate, and I know we love our downriver beautiful listeners and stuff like that, but can you tell everybody, like, how is the family doing?

Family's doing great. The kids are doing great. And, yeah, everything's good. What did the wish mean to you at the time when that happened? At the time, honestly, I was just overwhelmed and sort of embarrassed at the time because it was like there's more people out there and more needing. But after you sit down and digest it, the help was immense with what I was going through at the time and just losing my wife at that particular time.

We always believe that the letters that are of the wishes and the families that are supposed to be granted, there is something that makes those shine a little brighter. So your family, your wish was meant to be chosen.

And it's not always the wishes to grant because the person doesn't have the means. It's because they don't have the ability to keep on top of raising your kids, comforting your kids through a really tough time, getting everything together. It's one of those. I hear these stories all the time where families, you know, going through a heartache of an illness and they just say, you know, we're just not going to do a Christmas this year. and to me that is more tragic sometimes when you have the ability to do it but you can't do it because you can't emotionally do it and who was it that asked for the wish to be granted was it

And it was her birthday yesterday. So happy birthday, Carolyn. Wait, she gave birth on her own birthday? I think she gave birth maybe a month ago.

So I'm just trying to combine them together.

Well, that would have been kind of cool if you gave birth.

My name is Patrick Pettway, and I am getting my Associates of Science and General Education with an emphasis in business administration. To me, it was a no-brainer. When you go out here and you're looking for funding to go back to college as a 40-year-old man, I got six people in my household. The extra money just doesn't just grow out of trees. For me to be able to be accepted through FAFSA and to have Bishop State pay for all of my tuition, not only that, but the curriculums, you know, they make it so easy to understand on their website.
