disease uh it's mojo in the morning uh shannon had uh some of lucy's friends over right they were

00:01:21 - 00:01:28 | Speaker 5:

I think I had 10 or 11 seventh grade girls hanging out at my house last night.

00:01:28 - 00:01:31 | Speaker 4:

Well, man, it was so fun, though.

00:01:31 - 00:02:36 | Speaker 5:

I love all these girls. They're such good girls. They really are. But a couple of things I noticed during this. You don't really call it a play date anymore during this hangout. One, as mom and I was the only one home, it was me and Smith West is out of town. I'm like, do I always wonder this? do I hover wherever they are hanging out or do I leave the room and give them some space and privacy? I always feel like there needs to be like a happy medium on that. And also yesterday, so I did choose at one point, I'm like, okay, I'm going to go out on the front porch, even with all of this crazy smoke and sit with the dogs and just kind of like enjoy the day and catch up on emails and Instagram and stuff like that. So I poured myself a glass of wine and went inside on the porch. And as I sat there, I'm like, is it wrong that I'm drinking? Truly, I only had one glass of wine even though I wanted about 10 but I'm like is it wrong that I'm drinking while 10 little girls are in my home and in my care and I'm like oh that did not stop me I finished my glass of wine but still I had that thought and I'm like I feel like every other mom that has a daughter here

00:02:36 - 00:02:50 | Speaker 4:

would be doing the same thing it's funny those those are all good questions I've gotten yelled at for being around the kids too much like when the kid like like uh if they invite if it usually was joe joe invited friends over i wanted to hang with the friends well because you want to see the

00:02:50 - 00:03:18 | Speaker 5:

dynamic and kind of figure out like i kind of know what's going on lucy's pretty open with me about you know the the tea as she says but at the same time she kept looking at me and i was like but i don't want to leave him alone you know like i kind of want to supervise what's happening especially they all have phones and stuff you just want to make sure everything's good but what's the happy medium i don't know i'm always so self-conscious and the drinking uh part

00:03:18 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 4:

too is i always felt like what happens if somebody hurts themselves we got to call 9-1-1 and they

00:03:25 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 5:

show up and you got a glass of wine in my hand yeah or smelling like it you know what i mean

00:03:30 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 4:

yeah um wait till lucy and i know you don't even want to think about this but wait till lucy has the times where she has the boyfriend come over and this because this happens with Luke so Luke had his girlfriend like a I don't know I don't even know how to call it but it's a girl that he's dating yeah awesome girl we love her um and they're over and they're hanging in the basement and I'm home by myself and all I want to do is just make sure everything is good yeah so I have to do the hey how's it going you know you see if there's an answer real quick and it's like hey dad we're watching a movie you know one of those things yeah the tv muted just so you can try to hear something right exactly but wait till that that becomes one of those things but i i used to send luke when the boy the other boys had friends over to go check out what was going on you always had the little that's what you need with like smith well smith hangs out with them

00:04:25 - 00:04:35 | Speaker 5:

these girls are seriously so sweet and they let smith they love smith so they let smith hang out with them oh dude he's gonna be so lucky later so i didn't even have smith to be my little like

00:04:35 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 4:

reporter smith's gonna marry an older woman because of this it's gonna be one of lucy's later in life um 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 is the telephone number i love how you'd say we don't call it a you can't call it a plate anymore they're when the middle school so when

00:04:54 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

they're middle school what is it called now hang out i don't i don't know what they call it yeah

00:05:00 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 3:

If you say play date, it does sound like they're in kindergarten. You should actually call it a play date to Lucy and her friends and see what their reaction is. What's up, Heather?

00:05:11 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 1:

Shannon, why is it so stressful being a parent nowadays? One glass of wine isn't going to harm anything. Sitting on the porch relaxing, that's fine. The girls aren't going to do anything wrong. Just pop in every now and then. See if anybody needs anything. Go back on your way.

00:05:27 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 4:

i am with you but i still i feel like i overthink everything especially with her right now you know

00:05:34 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 1:

i get it i'm an overthinker like no one's business but it's okay did um that glass of wine won't hurt

00:05:41 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 3:

anything here's not shots of tequila here's a question heather and for shannon for shannon too so when the kids are all over when all these girls are all over and you have to wake up at 3 a.m. for your radio show like shannon had to do like at what point do you go all right i'm just

00:05:59 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 4:

gonna go to bed and let like do you do that or no you have to stay up actually um and some of the other moms commended me for how i did this i texted all of the girls moms and said hey we would love to have everybody over from five to eight so i put a like the moms came at eight o'clock and a dad there was a dad the parents came at eight to pick everybody up i think they all know what i do and that I have to wake up super early but one of the moms was like um brilliant idea putting a stop time on this this little hang because a lot of a lot of times it does go late and I just yeah I can't do that and I want Lou to have her friends over so here's another question and this I caught this

00:06:37 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 3:

one Heather so the one dad comes when I would be a dad and I would go to pick up my kids and there were like the mom was the only one there I would walk into the house and talk and I felt awkward Like, do the parents come in or do they wait outside?

00:06:52 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 4:

So yesterday, we were all hanging, even the girls, we were all hanging out on the front porch. Okay. So the moms that came and the dad came, they all ended up hanging out for a little bit outside.

00:07:02 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 3:

Like, I would always, I would always, like, go up there and I'd be like, oh, my God, this is like me with a bunch of, you know, usually moms because it would be the moms there.

00:07:10 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:07:10 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

But, yeah.

00:07:12 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 4:

And Wes is friends with this dad, so.

00:07:14 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 3:

Oh, okay. All right. Yeah. It's all good. And he's out of town right now. So that would be not good. I think we had a War of the Roses one time about that, Heather.

00:07:23 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, we did. I'm just kidding.

00:07:25 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 3:

Take care of yourself. Appreciate it. People say they call it slumber parties, but it's not you.

00:07:29 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 4:

Nobody spent the night.

00:07:31 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 3:

I used to call it a kickback. They just came and hung out and had food.

00:07:35 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 2:

That's an adult-type vibe.

00:07:37 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 3:

Why is Josiah not hanging out with Lucy and her friends?

00:07:42 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 2:

He don't know them like that. You don't sound like any guys over there.

00:07:45 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 3:

You need to introduce that, though. Wouldn't you want to be?

00:07:50 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 2:

You want to set up a play date? Is this an arranged marriage? I'm going to set up a kickback.

00:07:56 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 3:

All right, I'll bring a goat over. Smith's all by himself with all these girls. He needs to have some more guys.

00:08:01 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 4:

Are you kidding me?

00:08:02 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 3:

I know. I would love it, too. For sure. I loved when, so I was the youngest in the family, and obviously Aunt Pat, Aunt Tracy, and Aunt Mary Jo, they were all the older ones. I loved when their older girls came over. I was like, oh, this is great. that's when I knew that was when I knew I was like I like girls is when all the older girls would come over

00:08:24 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 4:

and they're all just beautiful they're all gorgeous

00:08:27 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 2:

until you find out they're your cousin Martina what's up

00:08:33 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 1:

it's a slumber party

00:08:35 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 3:

00:08:52 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 4:

We did we got Jets

00:08:53 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 3:

That's the best

00:08:54 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 4:

That's what Luce wanted

00:08:55 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 3:

That was where I got to hang with everybody Because they would come get the pizza And then when they were getting the pizza I'd go so how's your parents doing

00:09:04 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 4:

Who does everybody have a crush on Lucy's like looking at me I'm like what

00:09:09 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 3:

Do the girls answer you

00:09:11 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 4:

You're the cool mom

00:09:13 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 3:

Do some of those kids listen at all do they ever do they know what you do for a living um i don't know really i mean some of

00:09:21 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 4:

them do i know some of them do but yeah i don't know if all of them see i loved when the kids

00:09:25 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

would come over this always would embarrass the hell out of the kids but they would come over and they would be like asking questions about the show and stuff and then here's the weirdest part joe had friends that would want to hang with me more than hang out with him and stuff like that because they would be like hey uh mr you know see mr carbell like what's going on and then sit on the couch i'd be watching a tigers game on the couch next thing i know joe would be like downstairs by himself doing an interview with you all my friends are you know hanging out with dad uh tasha what's going on it's mojo in the morning how are you

00:10:00 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 4:

hi how are you good tasha what's up i was calling my daughter every time her friends come over she's 13 and my son is five he always says that her friend is his girlfriend oh boy she gets so

00:10:12 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 3:

annoyed by it and how does the girl how's the friend think about this is the friend actually

00:10:17 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 4:

like them they you know they they tend to them you know they'll include them play with them but

00:10:21 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 3:

my daughter gets so annoyed by it she wants him out of there um please be careful when your daughter is 16 and your son is what? How old would he be then

00:10:30 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 4:

at that time? Oh, they're eight years apart. Oh, boy. He'd be eight.

00:10:33 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah, that'd be two. Maybe 20 and, you know, then it's

00:10:37 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, there becomes that age where it's interesting.

00:10:40 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 3:

Who'd you lose your virginity to? I lost my virginity to my sister's friend. I'm telling you. That's not a bad story. That happens. Watch out.

00:10:49 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 6:
