welcome to the mojo the mojo in the morning show this is the mojo mojo in the morning show Cinco de Mayo on mojo in the morning show who's making margaritas it's mojo in the morning show are we making them today i got a damn margarita who wants a margarita i think we need some fun today it's Cinco de Mayo celebration of yes celebration of Mexican independence the independence that has made it possible that we can have a wonderful Mexican restaurant on every street corner here thank you if it wasn't for Cinco de Mayo we would not have Taco Bell so we got Taco Bell because of that so I want you to remember that that's why we celebrate today I don't think there was a Taco Bell before Cinco de Mayo became a big day in the Mexican Independence Day. It's also my son Luke's birthday. Happy.

Happy 18th birthday to my son Luke. Wow. Oh, my God. The kid has grown. He's now 18. And guess what? I am legally not responsible for him anymore.

Oh, he can actually do whatever he wants. My mom would always say, when you turn 18, you can do whatever you want. Uh-oh, you're right about that.

I think we've used that threat before, too. You told them before that. But I will say this to you. He cannot do anything that he wants because he's still under my roof, and he still needs me for financial support to go to college. I'm just saying legally. Yes, legally. But I can kick him out and not feel bad about it, right?

Well, I wouldn't say the not feel bad about it part. You are allowed to kick him out. I hope you feel bad about it. I don't know. Why does it weirdly hurt my feelings that he's 18, though?

I know. It sounds weird, isn't it?

I don't like it.

The part of it that's weird, it's funny because, listen, when I say to you, I feel old, I am old, all right? I'm 52 years old. But it feels weird to have your baby be grown with a deeper voice than you. That's the weirdest part about the whole thing. Although I feel like I have a deeper voice than you right now. That is kind of true, too. It's called allergy season, right? So I got to tell you guys, and I don't have a ton of time because of this. You know what? Do I even bring up a topic right now? I played so many songs that I'm almost butting up against a commercial break. Why don't I do this? I'll bring up a topic here in a second, but let me just tease what we got on today's show. Today's Mojo in the Morning show is going to be so much fun. As you have probably wondered all week long, where is Mike? Mike is on vacation. He's enjoying himself. What a great week to take off, too, because the weather's just been crappy here.

And he looks like he's having a blast.

Oh, and you know what? Check out his social media. Remember, he was all worried about going with Allie because she was pregnant and she's about to give birth to this baby. And he was freaking out about what's going to happen and how things are going to be for them. And it does. It looks like these guys are having.

we're celebrating Mexican Independence Day. That is not correct at all. It's not? Isn't that in September? It is in September. It's actually Cinco de Mayo is celebrating the victory over France.

It's like celebrating the war. What the hell was France and Mexico doing hanging out with each

other. They seem like they shouldn't be together. That's too much information for me this morning. I wasn't expecting a call this early in the morning from JP. Oh, you text in? Oh, this is you then, huh? Okay. I'm sorry. I just couldn't help myself. All right. You know what? No, no,

no, no, no, no. I appreciate that. Thank you for doing that. How are you going to celebrate Cinco de Mayo? Because it's funny how we celebrate all these holidays by drinking. Think about this. St. Patrick's Day, we drink our faces off. We celebrate the independence of this country by drinking crazy, and then we celebrate Cinco de Mayo doing the same thing.

Yeah. I mean, drinking is part of it, but, you know, you just got to celebrate the culture a little bit and enjoy their food and enjoy their music, and you're all good to go.

Hey, question for you. This is a very serious question. Do we like our queso melted, or do you like the shredded cheese on top? Oh, of nachos? Yeah.

If it's nachos, I like the shredded cheese. Same. I don't like the liquidy cheese.

I don't like the liquidy cheese gives me the liquidy problems. It makes the chips soggy. Yeah.

Wrong. Yeah, I think that's true. And also tacos don't have cheese. Like real Mexican tacos don't even have cheese. Really? So nachos, yeah, that's true. So nachos probably not melted either.

Now, how do I know that you actually are an expert when it comes to Mexican culture?

Well, I was raised in San Diego my whole life. So I do have a little bit of experience with it.
