Mojo in the morning show. As you head to work or school, thank you for being here with us. How was Lucy's birthday over the weekend? Did she have a good birthday?

00:01:45 - 00:01:59 | Speaker 1:

It was good, yeah. We had a little party for her girlfriends on Thursday. And then on Friday, Andrew and I took her out to dinner. And then we celebrated with my family on Saturday morning. So it was like a lot of birthday. I am birthdayed out

00:01:59 - 00:02:17 | Speaker 2:

You know what I realize I wish my parents were divorced Because when you get divorced parents You get multiple Christmases Easter's Birthday parties Just like the best Did she also have a party then With you doing the party with your family Did she also have a party with Andrew's family

00:02:17 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 1:

Yesterday morning she did breakfast with my family On Saturday and breakfast with Andrew's family yesterday So girlfriend had four days of birthday

00:02:24 - 00:02:29 | Speaker 2:

Don't feel bad for any kid who comes from divorce Those kids are making out. They're doing all right.

00:02:29 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. It was so funny, though. Like, one, I still can't believe she's eight. And thank you to all of the listeners who reached out and made me cry like a baby over the weekend saying, I remember when you announced you were pregnant with her on the show. And I'm like, yeah, me too. I mean, that feels like yesterday, and now I have an eight-year-old. It's just, it's crazy. Mike, you know this. You look at Cecily, and you're like, where did time go? Holy crap. She also got off the bus on Friday, and this made me feel a certain way. And she was like, Mom, we need to talk. I have something to tell you. And I thought, uh-oh, what happened? And she's like, I am so embarrassed because my armpits smell like yours. And I said, what do you mean? And she's like, they stink. My armpits stink. I think I need to use deodorant. And I thought she was being dramatic in true Lucy Grace fashion. But I sniffed her pits, and like her mama, she has an overactive right armpit that stinks.

00:03:29 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 2:

I remember when my kids first got body odor.

00:03:33 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 1:

When eight years old?

00:03:34 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 2:

And nobody ever, oh yeah, it had to be around that time. Nobody, well, I mean, maybe it was a little bit later, I don't remember, but all I remember is you never wanted to be the stinky kid in class. Right. So you never wanted that to happen.

00:03:47 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 1:

And she already has smelly feet. Like, I've talked about this. I really have to like convince her to wear socks so she's not the smelly feet kid. And now I don't want her to be the smelly armpit kid. So I showed her like where my, I have like all natural deodorant and I go, if you just want to dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot. Don't do that to her. Don't do the all natural stuff. She'll also be stinking. I found some stuff that works.

00:04:06 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 2:

She'll be, you know.

00:04:07 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 1:

Finally. Remember when I was doing all the trials and you guys were like, Shannon, please stop. Use a normal one already. I remember.

00:04:15 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 2:

Listen, I'm going to throw this out there to you. You ready for this one?

00:04:18 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 1:

I don't know.

00:04:19 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 2:

When your kids grow up so fast, wait till your kids have to start shaving or they want to start shaving.

00:04:25 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 1:

Oh, I know. My mom wouldn't let me.

00:04:27 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

That's the one. Well, you know what? And my mom didn't let me either until the school called her up and said, your son looks like he's got a full on beard. I had like almost a full. You see what I look like nowadays? When I was in school in the sixth grade, I had a beard. Really? I swear, swear, hand to God. And the funniest was, I remember the first, so my kids, so my kids don't have that from me. They got Chelsea's hair from her, which bothers them because they, because if you, if you really want to.

00:05:00 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 4:

make fun of joe who hosts the joe show call him up and tell him that his he has no connectors on

00:05:05 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 1:

his beard it drives him crazy oh my gosh it's like it's the worst feeling in the world for this

00:05:11 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 4:

poor guy why would you tell the public i had the best connectors ever and i still do look at this

00:05:16 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 5:

full beard i know it's bad i know but i was like lucy's age though when i started shaving really Yeah. That's really young. Did you dance or do gymnastics? I did gymnastics. I did ballet. You were the girls that started first. Yeah. I can remember sitting in gym class at Coroceal Middle School in seventh grade in my pink umbrow shorts and looking at the girls' legs next to me, and they were smooth, and my legs, the hairy, black, Italian, like, hair. Yeah. And I went home and asked my mom, and she was like, no, you're too young. You don't get to shave until you're in high school.

00:05:55 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 4:

Dude I had a small child's head Underneath my armpits I played basketball I had to be like I used to call it I was Patrick Ewing Because he was the first player I ever saw That wore an undershirt underneath his jersey I was Patrick Ewing Having to wear an undershirt underneath my jersey Because my armpit hair was so fierce

00:06:15 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 5:

And then did you get the yellow pit stains Because you had the t-shirt

00:06:18 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 4:

Listen I had yellow pit stains all the time Because definitely I was a sweater I was bad I'm Cubano man I sweat like I'm in Havana. Havana, banana. The other funny thing, I'm going to tell you the other funny thing is when you're a kid that is that age, okay, and you're hanging out with all your buddies who are like little tiny guys. Right. And you're like a foot and a half taller than them. You go up to 7-Eleven to go get Slurpees, and they say, hey, your kid's one. I didn't do that to you. That's what happened with me. My pack of cigarettes. I'm hanging out with Brian and Brad. We're walking up to 7-Eleven, and these guys are, like, coming up to hear on me. I got a full-on beard and armpit hair that's coming out, and Brian and Brad are, like, looking like they're my kids. They're like, Dad, you pay.

00:07:12 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 1:

And nothing's changed because Reese posted that picture of you and I at a Tigers game, and everybody thought it was a father-son photo.

00:07:19 - 00:07:19 | Unknown:

Exactly.

00:07:20 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 4:

That's what it's like. Oh, my God. Okay, so here's the question. I'll throw this out there to kids that are going to school and stuff like that. What's the earliest that you had to shave or put deodorant on? Are there any parents that had to go earlier?

00:07:36 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 5:

Like an actual bra would be another milestone one.

00:07:39 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 4:

Well, I know. Didn't you say that Lucy wanted to wear a bra?

00:07:42 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, well, so she, at Christmas time, wanted me to buy her little sports bras, basically, which they sell for her age. But remember, I told you, Dad was, whew, I got in major trouble for that.

00:07:53 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 4:

Our kid growing up so fast.

00:07:54 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:07:55 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 4:

I get it.

00:07:56 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 5:

So I bought her a couple more since then.

00:08:00 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 4:

You're a little feisty with the ex, aren't you, these days? Kind of like it.

00:08:04 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 5:

Just keep him at my house.

00:08:05 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 4:

Look at that. Jill, what's going on, Jill? What did you have to do?

00:08:09 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 3:

At eight years old, I started my period. Did you? Wow. Oh, you, yeah.

00:08:15 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 4:

Really?

00:08:16 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah. And I didn't even know. I mean, like, my mom was doing laundry and came to me and was all upset and concerned, and is everything okay, da-da-da. I think if I think back to it now, like, I saw it, but just kind of blocked it, like, oh, I don't know what that is, you know?

00:08:32 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 5:

Well, because by that time, you don't even, we didn't even learn about it until fourth grade. No. Fourth and fifth grade.

00:08:38 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, what is the age that you start usually normally getting your period?

00:08:42 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 5:

I mean, I got mine in seventh grade, which... I was going to say sixth or seventh. Yeah.

00:08:48 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, it seems like now the kids get even earlier.

00:08:49 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 5:

There's such a range. Yeah, it really is. Some kids start eight, and I wasn't in, I mean, I was in high school when I started mine. Yeah, one of my best girlfriends didn't get hers until senior year. She was real late.

00:09:01 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 1:

And what's so traumatic is so many parents fail to talk to their daughter before it happens. So it's such a, you know, at the moment, you're like, oh my gosh, because you haven't had that talk yet.

00:09:10 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I have a friend that always says, it's the hormones in the food. Don't tell you that stuff. And it could be.

00:09:16 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 5:

I actually kind of, yeah.

00:09:17 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 4:

I believe I believe it. Yeah. Thank you for the call, Jill. I appreciate that. Thank you. Some of the textures here. Look at this. I started wearing deodorant when I was in the fourth grade. A lot of people saying that was eight years old. I was wearing deodorant. Same as Lucy. That's from eight one zero saying that a couple other textures here. Same thing. Mojo had to shave when I was in the seventh grade. What's happening? Autumn. Hi.

00:09:45 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

hey I wanted to bring up this book that came out when I was younger it was about like going through puberty and just like the last caller I hit puberty when I was like eight so I had to read this book and the girl in it

00:10:00 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 1:

I actually went to 7-Eleven, like you said. And they were like, you're not a kid. You can't have that. You look too grown. And it, like, shaped me into who I am now. And it's, like, crazy that I still remember that.

00:10:10 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 8:

And what was the book called?

00:10:12 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 1:

Is it the American Girl one? No. Karen Keeping a View is the American Girl one. Yes. Yeah. That's exactly what it was. Yeah.

00:10:22 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 8:

Joe, what's up?

00:10:24 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 6:

So I was in middle school, and I was, like, the only one with a full beard yeah like me i had a full-ass beard not like it was at least a couple inches long whereas everyone else was clean shaven yeah like baby face dude i'm telling

00:10:42 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 8:

you it was wild all of a sudden you turn around in class to go talk to your teacher and they're like oh who is this guy yeah yeah would you be able to keep it or because i went to a catholic

00:10:54 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 6:

school we were now allowed to have it i actually was able to keep it and i had to keep it shaven but after a while i was like nah i shaved it for a while i'm just like i don't care now you're now

00:11:09 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 1:

you're beard man i get a good one what's up liz hi uh me and my sisters had to have three black

00:11:15 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 8:
