We've all been there. We've had seasons that have shaken everything. The question is, what remains when the shaking stops? Hi, I'm Gary Valenciano, and on my podcast, Unshaken with Gary Vee, I sit down with amazing personalities and we talk about the seasons that nearly broke them, the lows that carried them to their highs. Listen to Unshaken with Gary Vee on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

00:00:33 - 00:00:52 | Speaker 4:

I'm Mange Shatigular, and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talk to scientists, biopunks, curmudgeons, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.

00:00:52 - 00:00:58 | Speaker 5:

I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know.

I am a sample. Long before I'm measured, long before I'm named. Each piece of me has a message, a nuanced role. When you look beyond the average, when you see where I belong, you see why I behave the way I do. When you start looking at my details, when you include my context, I start telling you the truth. I always had a story. You just needed a way to hear it.

00:02:00 - 00:02:04 | Speaker 1:

Dan, Dan, Dan, Mojo in the Morning. So funny. I feel like any time that Megan share a story about her brother, she always tries to put him in a bad light because, Spike, you hung out with Megan and her brother last night. Yeah. He's a kind, gentle man, right? Nice guy. Oh, he's awesome. Yeah. There's nothing wrong with him. Honestly, it's... Oh, her mic's on? Oh, I'm sorry. Hi, Megan. What was that?

00:02:48 - 00:02:50 | Speaker 6:

I wish you were my brother.

00:02:50 - 00:02:54 | Speaker 7:

Do you think I paint him in a bad light? I feel like I always paint him in the good light.

00:02:54 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 8:

No, I always feel like he's garbage and stuff like that.

00:02:57 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 7:

I was just going to say, didn't you start a sentence about him this morning with, he is garbage? No, no. He's a garbage disposal. Oh, okay. See, everybody half listens to me and then brands me as the mean one. And I am not the mean one. I'm the idiot. You guys are getting it wrong. I don't love you. I don't love myself. So anybody else have a sibling who's a human garbage disposal? Because, like, my living nightmare is what my brother is doing to me, and that's eating all of my food. And as we all know, food is definitely the most important thing in my life. And I have this really bad habit, and I'll be very honest before we get into this, where I have a lot of leftovers. Every time I eat a meal, I'll have a leftover. but I'm really bad about eating my leftovers if I don't have it the next day for lunch it will sit in my fridge for an obscene amount of time and then be absolutely disgusting and I have to throw it away so my brother over the years has obviously learned that this is a really bad habit of mine and he's decided that um that's just his food then if I don't eat it and it comes home it's his food because it's going to go bad and literally every time every time i bring something home the next day i'll wake up and i'll be like let's get some lunch packed and it's absolutely gone and he doesn't think it's that big of a deal because he thinks i waste food anyways but i think it's so rude and i feel like the least he could do is just ask i would probably say yes if he asked but instead it's just gone but also if he doesn't eat it it will go bad it's interesting

00:04:38 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 8:

It's interesting that your brother will eat your leftovers because I know people that won't eat another person's leftovers.

00:04:46 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 3:

Why?

00:04:47 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 8:

They, for some reason, feel like their germs are on there. So they won't eat them. Like, if somebody has leftovers, I won't. See, I would eat anybody's leftovers except for if they were in our office at work, and I didn't know who was left over.

00:05:00 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 3:

there's a difference between family and random co-workers yeah true but but but but with leftovers when we're leftovers are concerned um like chelsea gets really upset when i eat her leftovers oh i get livid and it's bad because like she ordered uh mezza the other day which is the the middle eastern place by us and she ordered and i uh i finished off her uh her food and she that same thing as megan right now you come home anticipating it and you're you're excited when you're driving home and you probably pass a million places that you could eat at because you know you're going to

00:05:36 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 7:

eat that and it's not even your you come home anticipating and excited for it you've been thinking about that yeah that leftover box in your fridge all day right and then you get home

00:05:48 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 6:

and it's not there so here's my my favorite thing i just learned that at olive garden you can order six breadsticks to go. Don't ask me how I learned that, but it is my downfall. This is what's going to ruin me. Whenever I'm sad in the car, I live near an Olive Garden, and it is really easy to order it on the app.

00:06:07 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 4:

I got six of them the other day. And you're sad a lot.

00:06:11 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 6:

I really am. And they're warm and they're buttery and they're delicious and they make me feel happy. So I got six of them. I ate two of them, right? Math. Six minus two, Mojo, is

00:06:21 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 3:

six minus two.

00:06:23 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 6:

four four four we're left we did it we did it okay so i had four left i wake up the next morning there's one left in the bag and my brother goes what i only ate three of them

00:06:34 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 5:

i left you one you should be grateful he said you should be grateful i left you one of them what sir you should be grateful i haven't murdered you yet what is what is your favorite

00:06:51 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 3:

leftover because i know people will say pizza but i don't think pizza is the best leftover oh it is

00:06:56 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 2:

definitely top five chinese food is always better amen better in the leftover than it was when i

00:07:02 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 4:

brought it home yeah i love leftover chili i don't know why it's so random you make and eat

00:07:07 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 3:

for like two weeks the only problem with leftover chili is when you heat it up in your microwave

00:07:12 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 7:

you cause an explosion and you got to put a paper towel over the top yeah thanksgiving Leftover spaghetti.

00:07:18 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 3:

Leftover spaghetti.

00:07:19 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 7:

Anything Italian leftover is good.

00:07:21 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 3:

Yes, mousse to choli.

00:07:23 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 6:

Would you count it as leftovers, like birthday cake for breakfast the next day? That's top five meal. No, okay, cool.

00:07:30 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 3:

No, I don't think birthday cake is leftover. I don't think that's leftover.

00:07:33 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 6:

That was shame silence.

00:07:35 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 3:

No, birthday cake is not a leftover.

00:07:36 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 4:

Cake's not a leftover. It sits on the counter until you're done. Yeah.

00:07:40 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 7:

And then you have a little sliver, and then a little sliver, and then a little sliver, and a little sliver, and pretty soon the whole cake's gone. You don't even know what happened.

00:07:46 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's just an exercise wellness. Yes.

00:07:49 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 3:

Fried pickles. What's that? Say it again, KP?

00:07:54 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 1:

Fried pickles.

00:07:56 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 3:

Fried pickles. As leftovers? You can't do fried food as leftovers. No. It's all soggy and messy. Oh, yeah. It's got all the grease that's in there.

00:08:05 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, you're right. You're right.

00:08:07 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 3:

I love going to places that have fried pickles, fried mushrooms, fried zucchini on the menu. like back in the day before i knew i had a gluten issue my sister would always want them wrapped up yeah no no wrap those up i'm like you can't wrap those up like for the what a waste of wrapping up like you know i mean like who wraps up the the appetizer greasy stuff he does he takes everything

00:08:31 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 7:

home and then eats the next day last thing not the next day yeah sometimes he'll text me and be like oh i'm you know really enjoying the the last of the mexican i'm like dad that was two weeks ago

00:08:42 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 2:

The ultimate is Anything's Thanksgiving Any Thanksgiving leftovers

00:08:49 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 7:

That wins

00:08:50 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 3:

I took Brian and Liz from Red Robin Out for sushi last week Okay And this is interesting I cannot do leftover sushi

00:09:02 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 6:

No no no no

00:09:03 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 3:

It's awful Like the avocado looks brown the next day It just doesn't And Brian you should have seen Brian man And he was a human garbage disposal. He, like, took everything with him. Now, I do order, like, a maniac when I do the sushi orders. But he's wrapping up these things. He's like, I'm bringing them home to my kids. And I'm thinking to myself, wait a second. They're going to be sitting in your car all day, Cookie. And you're going to be. And you're going to bring those in the house. Yeah.

00:09:31 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 7:

I feel like you can't do leftover fish.

00:09:34 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 3:

I can't do it. What's going on, Mojo in the Morning? What's up, Courtney?

00:09:38 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Hi. I totally relate to Megan because I literally hoard food in my car. I just moved back home recently, and I have to keep, like, my protein bars, my, like, iced coffees, my energy drinks, like, my gummy bears, my snacks, anything that I don't want my brother to have, I have to keep in my car because otherwise it will be all gone.

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 7:

And your brother will eat it like Megan's brother, huh?

00:10:03 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 10:

Oh, my God. They're literally garbage disposal. It's ridiculous. And then the struggle's real when it gets really cold, and then I go to open up, like, an iced coffee or my Celsius, and it's frozen.

00:10:16 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 8:

I'm really lucky because I get to work with the Mars company, and they send me, like, ginormous boxes of candy all of the time. And they sent me a huge box of Snickers, and my brother ate 13 full-size Snickers in one night. How did he not go into, like, a diabetic shock? How is he the skinny one? That's the real question.

00:10:37 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 7:

Jennifer, what's the best leftover?

00:10:40 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 9:

Okay, lasagna is the best leftover, first of all.

00:10:43 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 7:

Yes.

00:10:43 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 9:

And then I have a 16-year-old son. Guys, I can't even leave my plate on the counter without him getting it, let alone leftovers. Like, it doesn't make it that far. If I leave my plate unattended, he is on it And I don't get my food

00:10:55 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 7:

My kids won't eat leftovers But they will go back in the fridge and start eating it that same night And then the next morning I'll wake up And there'll be like empty, you know, little Pyrex dishes and stuff Sitting on the countertop

00:11:07 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 9:

I believe you have three boys too

00:11:09 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 7:

I do, yep The worst is when Joe was living with us And he would get high And then next morning we would come home to like everything all over the place

00:11:17 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 9:

I understand

00:11:19 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, thank you for the call Bye Take care of yourself Rodney

00:11:25 - 00:11:28 | Speaker 6:

Hey Mojo what's up

00:11:28 - 00:11:29 | Speaker 7:

What's happening buddy

00:11:29 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 6:

Good hey take your pizza Your leftover pizza And you fry it put butter on both sides And fry it in a frying pan It's amazing

00:11:38 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 7:

Are you serious

00:11:39 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 12:

You're telling that to a man with a heart issue

00:11:43 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 7:

I know that's true By the way You are such a Midwesterner by the way You can totally tell that this guy's from Michigan or Ohio because he's put in his leftover pizza in a frying pan with a lot of butter in it.

00:11:59 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 6:

Oh, it's awesome. You wouldn't believe it.

00:12:02 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 7:

We wonder why everybody is skinny in Oregon, you know? It's crazy.

00:12:06 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 5:

I'm so disgusted. It's crazy. I'm going to put that in my phone to try this.

00:12:11 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 7:

Christy, what is your favorite leftover?

00:12:14 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 11:

Guys, KFC.

00:12:17 - 00:12:20 | Speaker 7:

KFC, leftover? You can eat fried chicken leftover?

00:12:21 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 10:

Oh, my God. I could eat it cold. It's so much better warm. And then the mashed potatoes, and then you warm up the biscuit, it's the best.

00:12:27 - 00:12:32 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. That actually sounds really good. That does sound really good. I hear that's what air fryers are for. I know.

00:12:32 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 10:

Put a little salt on it. I love the cold chicken.

00:12:34 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 7:

Actually, call Rodney back. Mike just brought up a great point, Christy. Did you hear him? An air fryer is probably better than putting it in a frying pan. Put it in the air fryer.

00:12:43 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 3:

Everybody who has an air fryer says that if you have leftovers that were originally fried and you put them in the air fryer for a second, that they're like as good as new.

00:12:52 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 11:

Yeah, the cold KFC is so much better, he says.

00:12:55 - 00:13:02 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, they're really cool. Mallory would like to make a comment here as we're talking food talk right now. I'm so hungry.

00:13:03 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 11:

I had to back Megan up a little bit because she said cakes the next morning and you guys all went silent. In our family, it's a tradition that the next morning we all have cake cereal for breakfast after somebody's birthday. Oh, that's so fun. Pour milk over the cake and eat it like cereal. Oh, my God, yes. That sounds good, too.

00:13:24 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 2:

Wow.

00:13:25 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 8:

See how they supported you and they judged me? These people are terrible to real quick.

00:13:30 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 12:

To be fair, you jumped on us before we could even think of a word to say. I want a replay. There might have been a one-second pause. No, malarkey, I want a replay. I want to put money on it, actually.

00:13:43 - 00:13:52 | Speaker 5:

In fact, you listen to it. We're all thinking about, is it really a leftover? because you just eat cake all week and continue. It's not like it's going to go bad after the night.

00:13:53 - 00:13:57 | Speaker 11:

How is that any different? It's leftover from the day before.

00:13:58 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 2:

Nobody buys a cake for one serving. You're buying it to eat. Yes, they do.

00:14:06 - 00:14:39 | Speaker 4:
