Hey guys, Bobby Bones here, host of The Bobby Bones Show. We look for as much good in the world as we possibly can with Tell Me Something Good, and we talk through the biggest news stories of the day, and also your biggest and favorite country artists are always stopping by. mojo in the morning phone number is 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 text 95500 and i know it's been far removed from christmas but shannon and her fiance say uh that that little sucker was a mess let's just put it this way he lied to you well i thought

00:02:06 - 00:02:37 | Speaker 4:

of you because you always say that sneaky sob and yesterday after i found this out all i could think of was you going that sneaky sob i wanted to say that to him but you need to have that on your phone somewhere you just saying it i can play it and i love west by the way so i want to know exactly how this guy was a sneaky little sob so for christmas i i may have told this story during a podcast or something but for christmas we did not do gifts because we were saving money to go to paris for my birthday so we said no gifts we're just going to put all of our money towards that

00:02:37 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 7:

and like treat ourselves when we're there which we all know what happened on that yeah trip yeah

00:02:40 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 4:

he needed to save money because he had just bought a ring um which i did not know but so we did stockings and i kind of cheated a little bit i got him a what i considered a good gift for his stocking. And that was tickets to see the Book of Mormon, the musical when it comes to Detroit. And the reason that I did that was because I can remember from when we first started dating him saying, I've never been to a musical, and I love musicals. And so I thought, oh, that would be like a cool date night for us. Well, right before he opens his stocking, again, back in December, and I can't even remember what we were talking about. But he casually mentions, I've never been to a musical because I hate musicals. I don't think I would ever, ever go to a musical. And I'm thinking, great, because you're about to open tickets to see the Book of Mormon, okay? So fast forward to last night, and we have to go over our calendars and try to coordinate when we're actually going to get to spend time together because he's a dad of two, and he's a coach, and he's crazy busy with work, and obviously we're crazy busy. So we're going over our calendar for this month. and I realize that this sneaky SOB Sneaky Bastard Sneaky, okay, Sneaky Bastard Oh, is that what you say?

00:03:53 - 00:03:56 | Speaker 7:

I think I say Sneaky Bastard But SOB is just as effective

00:03:56 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 4:

Okay, this Sneaky Bastard, excuse me scheduled a trip to Arizona and comes home the day after we are supposed to go see the Book of Mormon And so I started laughing and I said, I pointed it out to him and he said, oh my gosh, that was Christmas time I never put it on my calendar I'm so sorry I didn't do it deliberately. I don't buy it for a second. I think he did it on purpose. So now he doesn't have to go see the Book of Mormon. Which is hysterical, by the way.

00:04:24 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, Book of Mormon is so good. It's so good.

00:04:27 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 7:

So you guys should go together. Yeah, that's what I got. You want to go?

00:04:31 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 5:

No, I will, but legitimately, my brother is not a musical guy. Obviously, Shannon and I, we're big musical people. He loves Book of Mormon.

00:04:37 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 4:

It's so funny. And so just inappropriate. That's what makes it funny. So inappropriate.

00:04:42 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

So, so here, here's an interesting thing is that you, you think that you are getting like that ultimate gift because you think, you know, that person well, and it happens from time to time where you, you know, like I know people that, I know people that fake like

00:05:00 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 3:

something because they're significant or you know family member or whatever um like has it in their mind that they they will like this you know what i mean like i know people that are like oh my god i love baseball and because their husband or whatever likes going to base and then they go to baseball games and they dread it and it's miserable and stuff right or i remember chelsea's grandfather for some reason this has always been a story everybody gets him for christmas penguins so Chelsea's grandfather when he was alive everybody would get him penguins and I one time walked into the kitchen and said to him because I was new to the family what's your obsession with penguins I never knew that he goes honestly I hate penguins and I don't know why they did it I made a joke one time and everybody kept going with it and I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings so it's kind of funny how that will sometimes play a part but here it was Wes was you know getting that gift that he was going to really love just love

00:05:59 - 00:06:16 | Speaker 1:

so much went out of town to get out of it you're weighing so much everybody's always looking at you when you get a Christmas gift is he going to enjoy it everybody's like well they like my gift so it's best to just fake it that day and then deal with it later and like whoops I'm scheduled I can't go now

00:06:16 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 3:

how many months removed are we from Christmas right now

00:06:19 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 1:

three months So, no, well, two months, two months.

00:06:22 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 3:

How many, who, who bought a gift for somebody and they still haven't used it? Like who bought something for somebody for Christmas, you know, as a gift and you've never seen them either in it, using it, playing with it, whatever.

00:06:36 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 1:

You can fake something on Christmas morning, but if I notice in March, you still haven't taken it out of the box, then I know you didn't like that gift.

00:06:43 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Or maybe, maybe they secretly returned it. Who knows? It was 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Lisa, what was your advice for Shannon?

00:06:55 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 4:

To call the theater and see if she can swap out the tickets for a different date, like after he's home or before he leaves or whatever. Yeah, I wonder if they let you do that.

00:07:04 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 3:

Guess who's a sneaky bastard now. Yeah.

00:07:06 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 4:

At Stranahan they do.

00:07:08 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 3:

That's funny.

00:07:08 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, at Stranahan in Toledo they do.

00:07:10 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 3:

That's actually kind of funny. And then make him go. Like have it for the date that he comes right back. Welcome home. Yeah.

00:07:15 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 4:

Hey, he'll get in the car

00:07:18 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 3:

00:07:42 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 6:

Yeah For Christmas, I bought my wife a diamond necklace with her initial on it and she's never worn it it still it was staying in the box and now our four-year-old likes to play with it no matter how much i put it up she's like oh it's okay no it's not okay it's a diamond necklace stop it wow but for but she also i can't get mad too much because she got me a diamond bracelet for my birthday which is right before Christmas, and I may or may not have never worn that either.
