Mojo on the morning show. Shannon, this is crazy. He's not dead. Thank God he's not dead. My God. Tell the story.

00:02:20 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 1:

Excuse me. So we all follow and you should follow if you're not following this Metro Detroit news Instagram page. Right. Oh, yeah. And so yesterday they posted a video of a really, really bad car accident. It looked like a truck had hit or like had hit a DTE generator or DTE truck or something. And they posted photos, videos, and they said it was a fatal accident. the person driving the truck had died the accident happened at allen road and goddard in allen park so i'm looking at this yesterday afternoon and i'm going oh my god that's right by where my dad lives and then i look at the vehicle i'm like that's my dad's exact truck color everything oh my god so my stomach like sinks you know and i'm thinking god i hope my dad's okay and so finally I, it was bugging me so, so bad. My dad doesn't drive a ton, but, um, I, I called him yesterday afternoon and he was like, I know why you're calling me. He said everybody had been calling him, but I was like, dad, I just needed to hear your voice and make sure that you are alive because that scared the crap out of me. He said he was at one of his favorite bars, O'Malley's and like everybody was on their phones looking at that same thing. And they were all like, Tim looks just like your car. but it scared the crap out of me for a second.

00:03:45 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 6:

Wow. You know what the worst is when you hear that there's an accident or a fire or any kind of crazy thing happening anywhere and you have family members that live by there and you're all worried about that something bad has happened. I hear sirens sometimes and I'm like, I turned into my mom and Aunt Pat where if I hear sirens and I quickly, Chelsea, where are you at? You know, Luke, where are you at? I'm like looking to see what's going on.

00:04:14 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 1:

But to see that on the news, you know, and you're like, oh, my God. Even down to the car. To the cult, everything about the car. Exactly his car. And right by where he lives. That would have set me up, too. I about had a heart attack.

00:04:26 - 00:04:35 | Speaker 6:

And he got multiple calls. Were you that late on the calls or were you that? No. He was so sweet.

00:04:35 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 1:

He's like, I really appreciate you calling and checking on me. I'm like, well, of course.

00:04:40 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. that's have you guys ever had that has anybody ever had this happen to them where they're driving down the street and they see a car accident and they go oh those poor bastards and then you find

00:04:49 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 1:

out later that you knew the poor bastards or you see something on the news and you're like i know

00:04:54 - 00:05:01 | Speaker 6:

those people yeah right luckily that's never happened to me i pray it never does i don't even how

00:05:00 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 3:

react there was a fire in novi the other day and uh they were reporting on it on the radio when i was driving into work in the morning and they're like talking about this fire and then they're talking about the neighborhood and i'm like holy crap and it was uh the house three doors down from my friends friends of ours that live in that same neighborhood and it's crazy because you're like realizing holy crap what's going on you know that's one of those situations the closest that

00:05:24 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 2:

something has ever come to to happening to me like that and it was one of these i don't know if it was metro news or i don't know what you know platform i was looking at it on or what page but there was a shooting or something that happened at the corner of a street and when i zoomed in on the street i'm like that's my grandma street luckily my grandma was okay she was like was that all i heard she's like was that that sirens and all that i heard grandma go in your

00:05:47 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 3:

basement grandma wait so you're saying that it grandma the whole time didn't realize what was

00:05:54 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 2:

going on. She knows what's going on. She heard siren stuff but didn't know it was like a thing until I called it. She's like, wow, so that's what it was.

00:06:00 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 3:

You better check on her a little bit more often.

00:06:02 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 2:

Always talk to grandma.

00:06:03 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 3:

That's my grandma. I was funny. I went to go to the Metro Detroit News to go look at that story to see the car. And then I just saw this story. Did you see this one this morning about the plane that had to divert?

00:06:14 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah. It's from Omaha?

00:06:15 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. A passenger arrested after attempting to open the emergency door mid-flight on a flight to Detroit. SkyWest flight operating as Delta Airlines Connect was forced to make an emergency landing Thursday evening after a passenger tried to open up the emergency exit and passengers had to detain the guy. The pilot reported over the radio that the passenger was fighting with a flight attendant and attempting to open the door to leave the plane in the mid-flight. Law enforcement boarded the plane, and they actually have video of the law enforcement. I did, I saw...

00:06:55 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 1:

It was a guy from Omaha, by the way, not Detroit. Oh, thank God. How mad would you be? Everybody still made it to Detroit last night, but they arrived at, like, three hours later than they were

00:07:05 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 3:

supposed to. How mad would you be, Shannon, if that was your dad in that one? Yeah, I'd be pretty. Like, Dad, why are you opening the door on the plane? Look at this, they're showing the guys walk off. The police and stuff down there. and they're arresting him. First off, the guy doesn't know how to dress for a flight. You can't wear a t-shirt and a pair of gym shorts like you're going to play a game up at the park up the street. Why not? You're going to freeze your ass off. No, you can't do it on a plane. First off, he looks like he hasn't showered in about a week, but you can't do that on a plane. Why not? You've got to dress a little more nice. Why not? Because you're getting on a plane.

00:07:37 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 1:

Everybody, nobody dresses nice anymore for flights.

00:07:40 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 3:

Not dress up, but you've got to at least put something on. What do you mean? The lowest you can be on that thing is wearing a pair of yoga pants. But you can't, like, wear sweatpants. Yeah, you're supposed to. You've got to be comfortable. You can't wear, like, the sweatpants that have, like, the things at the bottom of them, you know what I mean, and show off your balls on a plane. What?

00:07:58 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 2:

What kind of sweatpants do you see?

00:08:00 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 3:

Like shorts. Like joggers? Like Kevin, you can't dress like you just woke up in the middle. Or, like, the stuff that you sleep in, you cannot wear on a flight. Why?

00:08:09 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 2:

Again, you're not saying why. You're saying what you can't do. You're not giving any reasons.

00:08:11 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 3:

Because you're on an airline flight. You paid $500 for an airline ticket.

00:08:14 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 2:

To make sure I'm comfortable. I plan to go somewhere. I didn't plan to. It's not a black tie event. I'm sorry. It is so funny.

00:08:22 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 1:

Back in the day when I was little and we would fly, my mom would dress us to the nines. Like we were going to church to get on a flight. And nowadays, I look like a bum. I do wear sometimes sweatpants that I wear to bed.

00:08:32 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 3:

You can be comfortable but also look respectable. This is the reason why. Who am I dressing up for? If you're going to be the guy arrested on this thing, now this guy's got to go to jail wearing that stuff.

00:08:41 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 2:

He's more comfortable than a dude in a three-piece suit trying to look like somebody.

00:08:44 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 3:

What's up, Samantha?

00:08:46 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 4:

morning guys morning so back when i was an undergrad this is like in 2009 at harry ford college there was a school shooting unfortunately where the school went on lockdown um i was supposed to be at the school running one of our um community meetings and unfortunately a young girl did uh pass away um she was shot and killed and i had non-stop calls that it was they were thinking it was me because it sounded like a definition like oh this young young black girl was shot killed in the dance hall and everyone was like oh my god oh my god it's samantha and i'm like what's going on i looked on the news and it was not me i wasn't even at the school but that was definitely a scary situation because i was supposed to be there

00:09:33 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 3:

i'm telling you we we've got friends that were at oxford high school the day that that thing uh happened that horrible tragedy happened and we were freaking out over friends and then you know to hear about what was going on that is the worst when the news reports a story and you think that you know somebody from it

00:09:50 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 2:

MSU

00:09:51 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 3:

that was another one too that day with all the people at MSU what's up Abe

00:09:55 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 2:

hey good morning guys

00:09:58 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 3:

good morning

00:10:00 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 4:

Hey, I don't know. There's a feature on Apple where you can put, like, emergency contact in case something happens to you or you get into an accident, and it pinpoints your location. So one time I'm at home, and my phone is ringing, and it's showing your wife has been in an emergency accident, and responses are on the way. And I'm like, I'm calling her, and she's not answering. And it's going straight to voicemail, straight to voicemail. And I'm, like, getting in a truck. I'm going to go to where the location says it was. And finally, her sister was calling me, and she's like, hey, just to let you know, your wife left her phone on the back of the pickup truck, and when she turned, it fell off, and we can't find the phone. Oh, thank God. Bro, I thought that was a big deal.

00:10:40 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 5:

Again, I would have had a heart attack. You let the biggest breath out at that moment. Oh, yeah. Big time. Or were you pissed that now you had to buy her a new phone?

00:10:50 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 4:

It has insurance, so it doesn't bother me much. I'm just happy she was okay. Right.

00:10:55 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 5:

Thank God. all right mystery on the phone with us right now is that really your name mystery yeah hi mystery

00:11:01 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 6:

are you first time long time uh no i've called her a couple times but definitely a long time

00:11:07 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 5:

they're a few time caller no i don't i don't remember that name it's a beautiful name what's

00:11:10 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 6:

going on oh well thank you uh well i mean it was like a few months ago uh there was a bank rob nearby and they're showing on the news like the suspect of who it was and we all could have sworn it was my brother-in-law like my husband was dead set on this is my brother oh my god he just robbed a bank because of the way that he dressed yeah they just had like you know there was his the way he was standing they had um like the image from the bank inside and like the the hoodie it was the same hoodie he had even had and we were just like so convinced it was him and it was where he lived and did you call him right away yeah we well we we tried calling him but we you know come get all of them and we didn't think he would tell us anyway but it wasn't him it was not

00:11:50 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 5:

him luckily they got the suspects thank you for the call appreciate it uh bernard what's up it's

00:11:56 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 3:

mojo in the morning hi hey man i think we might be old mojo because when i was growing up we had to i mean i literally remember wearing a suit and a tie just to fly you know you know what's funny

00:12:08 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 5:

is i'm not saying that you should wear a suit and tie you're right that was how it was in the old days. That movie, Catch Me If You Can, that Leonardo DiCaprio movie, How They Would Dress. But I don't want to sit next to the guy that hasn't showered on an airplane or the girl in her PJs.

00:12:24 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 3:

I was about to say, people wear PJs and bonnets and slippers.

00:12:28 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 5:

I know. What are you doing? You got your house dress on. You can't get on an airplane in a house dress. They got to have some kind of an assemblance of order. So what does that do to you? It just makes me feel like honestly that this person's not clean. I don't. But what if they are? And they've showered, they've done all of that. They just would rather be comfortable and relaxed. We're going to the iHeartRadio Music Festival. And if your ass shows up in a pair of- You're going to sit your ass next to me and be quiet. I'm going to tell them that you- Don't worry.

00:12:54 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 8:

He redeems his points and sits in first class and lets us take the company seats in the back. Trust me, I've done this enough times with him.

00:13:01 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 5:

Let me say this to you, though. This is what I'm going to do. I'm going to say, when I was in the actual terminal, I heard this man say that he was going to do something on the plane. Or I heard that this guy left his luggage sitting by, you know how they always say, if you see somebody with their luggage that has been left alone, this man grabbed luggage. I'm going to turn you in. You're going to be back in TSA.

00:13:24 - 00:13:24 | Unknown:

All right.

00:13:25 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 5:

What's going on, Rachel? Hi.

00:13:28 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 7:

Hey.

00:13:29 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 5:

00:13:30 - 00:13:36 | Speaker 7:

I'm getting on a plane tomorrow, actually, to Florida, and I plan on dressing with Adam Sandler vibes.

00:13:37 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 5:

Exactly. Live your life. That's horrible.

00:13:40 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 7:

I am dressing like the greatest 902-hour nap of my life, and I will take advantage of every point of it. Yep. As you should.

00:13:49 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 5:

God help those people. You know what? It's perfect. You're going to Florida. That sounds like a very Florida-y place for you. All right.

00:13:56 - 00:13:58 | Speaker 2:

I'm from there. Take care of yourself. Safe flight.

00:13:58 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 5:

Bye, Rachel.
