Download the Moto Casino app today. Alright, Mojo on the morning show. Phone number is 844-MOJO-LIVE 844-665-6548 I was listening to a couple different morning shows on our iHeartRadio platform this weekend, doing a little bit of work for the company. And one of the things I realized, none of the radio shows ever give out their phone numbers or the text lines. And it's no doubt that they don't have any phone calls. Like I was listening to a couple of shows and they had no calls on their show. And we are so blessed to have the greatest listeners in the world that still participate. They wake up, even though they might be some listening on, you know, podcast or later in the day and they can't participate. We get those wild, crazy listeners that give us the good stories to talk about. Well, now I figured out why the other shows don't have people calling. You never hear what the hell the phone number is. I'm like, everybody, what do we just assume that everybody just knows what's going on here? So 844-665-6548, 844-MOJO-LIVE. Program it into your phone. Please do that for us. Or if you want to text, text 95500, and you can send a comment. And if you do send a comment, look for a phone call from our show director, Lydia, who will call you and try to get you to go on the air with us. So make sure that you keep your phone handy. And if you get a weird number calling your unidentified number, answer it, because it could be us, especially after you just sent that text. Mike. Yes. This is actually a funny story. Have you ever witnessed a very overly protective mom, it sounds like? Where were you guys at?

00:03:31 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 5:

So we went to a little brunch spot in Holland called De Boers. It's like the duchest of Dutch brunch places in the entire world. like all dutch food like very authentic it was very i didn't know what pigs in a blanket was and until i went there and i'm like oh that's delicious that looks amazing you never knew a pigs in a blanket was it's not what you think it is though you you think it's like a hot dog in like a crescent roll yeah yeah no this is it's like some sort of pancake-y type of sausage wrapped up in like a oh that sounds good oh it was very very very i bought a bunch to take home

00:04:04 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 8:

with me. Can you say it in a Dutch accent?

00:04:08 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 5:

I don't even know a Dutch accent.

00:04:09 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 8:

I was going to say, what's a Dutch accent? Isn't it like, I'm speaking to Dutch. I just think of like Austin Powers and like that I'm from Holland, isn't that weird?

00:04:27 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 5:

So we're, we're, I took Allie there for like a birthday, a late birthday celebration brunch or whatever, and And we're in line waiting there. And it's like a bakery, half bakery, half restaurant. So there's like a line where you sit down and wait. And somebody walks up and announces, basically, that your table's ready. It's a very small town. I love everything about it. And so this young man comes to the little desk. And he starts announcing names. But he's probably maybe 16, 17 years old. So he's like, hey, table for Joseph. Table for Joseph. And then this woman stands up out of nowhere and she looks at me dead in the eyes and smiles really, really big and goes, Joseph, Joseph and party of three. And she sits down and she looks around. She goes, that's my son. Don't worry about it. That's my son. And then another boy walks up. I say, boy, because these are these are very young guys. Edwin walks up and like starts whispering to her. And I think he's like telling her, hey, you can't do that. You know, but that's also her son. So she's got two sons that work there. And mom came to go watch them work She was well no she was going there to eat But I thought at one point she was trying to get good seats Like I thought she was trying to finagle good seats Cause she kept looking over at me And we were like up next Like we were in the line thing we were up next So she keeps looking over at me and like smiling And then she'll stand up and start doing this guy's job For him and you can tell he's getting embarrassed And like he's like mom what's up And she keeps looking over at me and smiling And I'm like she's either trying to Finagle a seat or my So then I look over at my kids or my kids are doing something inappropriate, which is 100% possible. Turns out her name is Melissa Clausen. And I call her out specifically because she DM me and she goes, sorry if I creeped you out. I was trying so hard not to fangirl, especially since my kid was a host. Hope everything was delicious. Visit again soon. And I said, no, no, you should have. You always say hi. Like, oh, every time you see somebody say hi and walk over. And she said, my son told me, do not approach that man. Do not say anything to that man. I guess he was so embarrassed because mom was doing his job. By the way, how cute is that, though? I thought so, too.

00:06:35 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 6:

Do you remember your guys' first jobs? My first job, I was at an ice cream place. And I remember when my family came in to get ice cream. And I remember my mom, and I was just a little kid. I was working for my brother at 12 years old. years old and my mom was like oh he's doing such a good job and taking pictures of me back then it wasn't on a camera or on a phone it was a camera like she's bringing camera pictures to take pictures of me working it has that ever happened anybody where you your your mom gets overly excited about your new job that they show up at your work so my first job was I was like a

00:07:15 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 1:

nanny like a babysitter for a family for a summer and they had a baby well I was like 15 14 15 I was responsible, but I did not know what the heck I was doing. And they always give you babies. I don't know how to change a diaper. She wasn't even one yet. Yeah, I would call my mom and be like, okay, the baby's doing this. What do I do? My mom was my savior for that. I leaned on my mom so much for that first job.

00:07:41 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 6:

844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. to talk to you, whether when you were a kid and you had your first job and your parents started doing your job like Melissa Clausen, is that what you said her name was? Yeah, yeah, I might be saying her last name. Like Melissa, or if you were the mom that has done this with your kids because I remember my mom helped me also with my paper route. Back in the day, they used to have newspapers that people would get on their front driveways. I don't think that they do anymore. They might, who knows? But I used to have to deliver newspapers, and my mom never wanted me out early in the morning because it was not safe. So she would have it loaded. My mom basically was a paper boy. She was the one that delivered newspapers with me.

00:08:29 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 4:

I was not my mother's favorite child because she never cared where I was going. She never visited my first job. She didn't even probably know where I was working.

00:08:37 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 6:

Well, your first job was Burger King, wasn't it?

00:08:39 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, she never came in and took pictures. We never got to be paid. It was your job. Man, it was on the way home for her, and she never stopped in when she was passing me.

00:08:49 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 6:

Dawn, you're that mom, right?

00:08:52 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 3:

I am.

00:08:53 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 6:

Where do you go?

00:08:56 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 3:

I've had a couple of my kids and my niece that had their first job at McDonald's. So as soon as they're, like, off training and on their own, I like to go through the drive-thru, and I order a cheeseburger without the bun, without the meat, without the ketchup, without the mustard, without the onion, without the pickle. and they just look at you like, what? And then, you know, you drive up and they hand you a piece of cheese.

00:09:18 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 6:

You're like the mean mom, though. You're not the one trying to help them. You're trying to make their job more difficult.

00:09:25 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 3:

Well, yeah, and then I definitely take a picture.

00:09:27 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 6:

Oh, gosh. They love you for that, don't they?

00:09:31 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 3:

They will never forget their first job.

00:09:35 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 6:

Hey, Brittany, what's up?

00:09:37 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 2:

Hi, good morning, Marshall. I love you guys.

00:09:40 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 6:

Oh, we love you, too. Thanks for listening.

00:09:41 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 2:

We love you, too.

00:09:42 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 6:

What's going on? Your dad was the embarrassing one?

00:09:46 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, my dad, that's his soul. He's halfway now. But, yeah, when I first worked at Macy's, I used to take the bus. And he cried the first day. He helped me. And he was just so proud.

00:10:00 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 11:

and I remember I was so embarrassed but I was just finishing up with the cash register

00:10:07 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 14:

So this is out on the floor in front of customers?

00:10:11 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 11:

Yeah, like I was just I mean the chip but he was so proud and he just took a picture but it comes up on my Facebook page as memories and since he's gone I regret being so embarrassed

00:10:26 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 9:

What a good memory of your dad

00:10:29 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 3:

That is such a great memory.

00:10:30 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 14:

Man, he's hugging you on the cash register floor, and my mom was telling me from the other room, take your clothes off in the garage. They smell like chicken sandwiches.

00:10:40 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 11:

They always had a reason to embarrass us.

00:10:43 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 3:

Most parents would just want your Macy's discount. Right, right. Dad was just proud. What's up, Tiffany?

00:10:50 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 10:

Hi, good morning. First time caller.

00:10:52 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 3:

Oh, thanks for calling.

00:10:55 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 10:

So I was actually the embarrassing parent. My daughter, up until recently, was living with her father. And so during the summer, she would be week on, week off with me. And so she got a job at a Mexican restaurant I was working at at the time as a busser. And she would start interacting with the other bussers and other staff. And I would stand behind walls and stare at her like a total creeper, like, she's making friends and, like, snap pictures and send them to my family. It was so awkward. And she was like, can you please just stop? You're really, really embarrassed.

00:11:28 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 3:

Julian Yes Hey you were a bagger At Kroger

00:11:36 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 12:

Yes and my mom would come up And I would help her out to her car Because she would request help So that I could smoke a cigarette

00:11:45 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 13:

Thanks mom

00:11:48 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 3:

Different kind of help that she was giving you Brianna this is kind of wild Imagine that you got the mom That comes to your work And what did your mom do, Breanne?

00:12:00 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 8:

Oh, my goodness. So I had my interview, and right after my interview, my mom had said something to them. And she ended up getting a job the same day as me. And then a month later, I ended up getting fired. And my mom worked there up until literally just like three years ago. Oh, my God. I was a freshman in high school.

00:12:17 - 00:12:25 | Speaker 3:

So you got the job at Panera first. Your mom applied at the same time. Were you upset that your mom was actually applying for a job at the same place you were working at?

00:12:25 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 8:

um i was a little upset at first but then it wasn't as bad but she didn't even apply she just like went up to them and said something and they're like all right well you have a job as well

00:12:35 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 9:

do you remember when we were hiring interns when i first started working here and my dad came in for the interview yeah no wearing the t-shirt of our competing radio station

00:12:48 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 3:

and our producer KP's mom drove her to the very first time that we saw her yeah

00:12:55 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 6:

yeah she did she's a good mama

00:12:57 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 3:
