in our group chat megan was telling us earlier this morning about this car that she saw and in our group chat she sent a picture finally of this car it's the car held together by duct tape literally held together by duct tape do you see that license plate is not screwed in

00:01:34 - 00:02:15 | Speaker 5:

that license plate is duct tape to the trunk of that car yeah well they tried to make it like a pretty pattern too i honestly can't believe that like there are so many car things i'm not trying to be judgmental but they are so clearly illegal that I don't know how you get away with it like every time and I'm so curious if this is a thing that happens in Michigan a lot but in Ohio we have these people who are scum of the earth that's what I'm going to call them and they put those heavily tinted covers over their license plates which are super illegal and I see them everywhere like

00:02:15 - 00:02:22 | Speaker 3:

nobody's getting in trouble for these they have to be getting pulled over I get pulled I had tint on my windows on my car, and I would get pulled over

00:02:22 - 00:02:26 | Speaker 5:

all the time. Do you guys have the tinted license plate cover? I know what you're talking about.

00:02:26 - 00:02:30 | Speaker 3:

I've seen them at O-O-O-O-Reilly.

00:02:30 - 00:02:31 | Speaker 6:

Auto parts.

00:02:32 - 00:02:32 | Speaker 3:

Don't.

00:02:34 - 00:02:35 | Speaker 5:

What teamwork, you guys?

00:02:36 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 3:

No, I've seen them before, and I thought to myself, who's buying those things, and what are you buying? I know people like to black out their car with tint and stuff, but I'm like, that just looks shady. They don't pay tolls.

00:02:48 - 00:02:56 | Speaker 5:

They don't pay those speeding tickets from cameras, and they can hit and run, and you can't get their license plate. Those are terrible people.

00:02:56 - 00:03:06 | Speaker 6:

This is a true hoopty, because I also see bungee cords tying stuff together on the inside. Zoom in. There's those hooks. What do you call them? The clips? Yeah.

00:03:06 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 5:

And bungee cords. But I also have no room to talk, because at one point the car that I was driving had been, and I'm not kidding you, totaled, and it was held together by duct tape. So instead of getting a new airbag for the steering wheel, they just duct taped it closed for me.

00:03:23 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 3:

All right. Here's the deal. We got to find the listener that has the biggest hoopsie that's listening to the show right now. Which car is held together more by duct tape or bungee cables like Shannon was talking about? Or what else would people use to hold it together?

00:03:39 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 6:

Do you have to get into the driver's seat by going through the passenger door? Oh, yeah.

00:03:44 - 00:03:50 | Speaker 5:

My brother got into his friend's car and just stepped through the rust hole in the on the scoreboards and in the ground.

00:03:51 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 6:

Can you not reverse? Like, what is it?

00:03:56 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 3:

844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Katie, hi. What is your car looking like, Katie?

00:04:12 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 4:

Well, it's a car I used to have a couple years ago, And it was a 2010 Ford Focus. And because of my job, it took a lot of wear and tear. So I ended up, the ignition, like the key stopped reading. So my mechanic had to wire a wire from the engine to the front of my car so I could flip a start switch.

00:04:32 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God. You hot-wired your own car.

00:04:36 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 4:

I did. And then it was so bad, though, because it kept running the starter. I leave it on, and I burnt out, like, three starters. So then it became a push-to-start.

00:04:45 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

Oh, jeez. You know what? The beauty of that is that's now modern-day technology. The push to start. Everybody's got those in their cars, except for you have to have a key fob to start. It's not the way that you did it. What's going on, Dawn? How you doing?

00:05:00 - 00:05:01 | Speaker 4:

Hi, we're good. How are you doing?

00:05:01 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 7:

Good. We're looking for the biggest hooptie. You got one that's bigger than the hooptie that Megan saw all duct taped together?

00:05:08 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 4:

Well, no, but I have a, back in my hooptie days, I have a hack for a broken taillight. If you take a red Solo cup, use the bottom of it, cut it out, you can manipulate it.

00:05:21 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 7:

Oh, really?

00:05:22 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 5:

Wow.

00:05:23 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 7:

That's a hack? You had a red Solo cup for the broken taillight, and it actually would show, like, when you'd blink or turn it on or anything?

00:05:33 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 4:

Well, it was red, you know, so the red side was out. So what it did is it just didn't allow the bulb to shine white through the broken area.

00:05:43 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 7:

Which you would have gotten a ticket probably for, right?

00:05:45 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, but the red still illuminated. That's great. Genius. It was awesome.

00:05:50 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 7:

That is awesome. Seriously, that is a smart person right there. Somebody was telling me that cars are worth so much today that even that car, which, by the way, Megan, that car was a Saturn. They don't even make those cars anymore. Just driving around in a hooptie Saturn. What's up, Tracy?

00:06:07 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 6:

Hi. What's up? Good morning. I had a – first of all, I'd like to say I love the show. I listen every morning.

00:06:15 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 7:

Well, you're not allowed to say that. I'm sorry you're out of line.

00:06:19 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 6:

I have changed my route to taking the kids home because the station started

00:06:23 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 7:

that thing out and i was like i gotta listen oh my gosh tracy are you driving longer because of that no it's the same distance wow i love that though by the way you must have a hoopty as far as a radio is concerned because our radio doesn't come in uh what's going on and so my 2011 for

00:06:42 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 6:

focus i had gotten to an accident once and so like the front bumper was hanging off and so like i I saw him some gum in my car, like chewing gum, and I chewed it up a little bit and then stuck it to my front bumper and waited for it to dry so that it would stay on until I could get to my mechanic, and then he zip-tied it to the car.

00:07:00 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 7:

Oh, good Lord. That's awesome. By the way, it looks good. Don't worry about it, okay? It's very fashionable, and if that's all you got, you got to deal with it.

00:07:13 - 00:07:13 | Unknown:

Yep.

00:07:14 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 7:

I love it. Thank you. Dakota, your battery was the hooptie part of your car, right?

00:07:18 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 3:

yeah it would like turn off or like i'd turn my car off and then i'd go to start the car again and my like car would just be dead so my brother who like worked on cars and stuff like that he had to put a kill switch in my car and i had to turn on and off all the time oh my goodness what a pain in the butt oh it sucked and then there was once in my high school parking lot my car it was a 9900 crv it got me from point a to point b i was very appreciative i was 16 A car is a car.

00:07:48 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:07:49 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 3:

So my tire, like, fell out completely because my tire rod, like, gave out. And so my car was just stranded in my high school parking lot, so my cousin had to come fix it then. And I'm, like, panicking, calling my parents, like, the tire came off. What do I do?

00:08:03 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 7:

I've always wondered what happens when you're driving if the tire comes off.

00:08:08 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 3:

It's like I wasn't driving. It made some weird noise, so I stopped.

00:08:12 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:08:12 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 3:

And then when I backed up to, like, see if it was still doing it, the tire just gave out. Oh, my gosh.

00:08:17 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 7:

That would be wild, though. All of a sudden, you're driving and the tire just flies right off your car. Carrie, this doesn't sound like it's very safe, but how would you have to drive?

00:08:27 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 5:

I would have to hold my driver's door shut if I was going over 45 miles an hour. Oh, my God. That would terrify me that it would just fly open.

00:08:35 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 7:

Why at 45 miles an hour?

00:08:38 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 5:

I don't know. It was like once I hit 50, it was starting to get rickety. I think it was falling off the hinges. I also want to say I've been listening to you guys for over a decade Mojo, I went to school with your kids Did you? Where did you go to school? I went to West Bloomfield School

00:08:57 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 7:

Wait a second, did you just say that you did my son's math homework?

00:09:02 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 5:

No, I cheated off of his homework Who, Jacob's? Not Joe's

00:09:06 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, there's no way you're cheating off of Joe, because if that's the case you're still in middle school

00:09:13 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 5:

Jacob's a good kid

00:09:16 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 7:

We're driving, Luke and I are driving To have dinner with him tomorrow

00:09:19 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 5:
