This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

Alan Lee, my major is drafting and design. In high school, I did it since my sophomore year, and I kind of wanted to continue it. It was the only thing I was good at. I didn't want to move to a four-year yet. I don't think I was mentally prepared. I found Bishop State. They had the program. I met a few people there. I ended up enrolling. The instructor, first time I met him, I told him about my background. He said, okay, great, you know about this. He built me straight to work. He didn't let me have any leeway. He pushed me to my limits. So I think that made me choose drafting design at Bishop State and stuck with it. The sport's amazing. All my instructors just want to see me succeed. They want to push me to my limit. They want to see me be the best I can be, get a job, just be as successful as I can be. And I really appreciate all of them. With my degree, as of right now, my plan is to work for the city of Mobile with their urban planning department. And I've already got a job shadow before, and hopefully I will end the ship over the summer. If you choose Bishop, we're welcome to have you any day.

Mojo on the morning show. I went out to lunch yesterday with a friend, and we were hanging out, eating, and recognized another person that was there as a mutual friend of mine. And I was like, oh, hey, what's going on? How's it going? Oh, hey, do me a favor. Grab a seat. I want you to introduce you to somebody. I wanted to introduce him to the guy I was eating lunch with. And the craziest thing happened. Honestly, it might be one of the most fun instances that I've had in a long time at a lunch with a buddy of mine. my friend all of a sudden recognizes the person that's sitting down at the table with us and says hey you took a swing at my ex-wife and I go what he goes you took a swing at my ex-wife and I said what are you talking about like what's going on no it's like you know it's cool talk for you tried to get with my ex-wife It's not cool then. I did not know that. It took a swing to me. It took a swing. Went to punch him. They're golf guys. Oh, okay. So he goes, you took a swing at my ex-wife, and the guy felt a little uncomfortable at first, and then kind of like, we went on a date, whatever the whole deal was, and then it kind of ended there. And then they became best buddies. They kind of sat there and started talking to each other. But it got to a point where I sat there and I thought, oh my God, I am witnessing drama, and I love it. I love this whole idea. You like drama? I love it, yes. What? So I started asking kind of like questions and stuff, and I thought to myself, I'm like, wow, how is it? And it's got to be tough because I wonder in situations where I know when you're dating, and you guys probably experienced this like KP and Lydia and Megan and all the guys that are dating on the show. You have like a friend that starts dating somebody that you maybe have dated. But in this case, it was a marriage thing. Like, to me, an ex is, you know, it's pretty wild. So, I don't know. I don't know. Like, if Chelsea and I get divorced, and all of a sudden I find out that, you know.

00:04:07 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 2:

It will be me.

00:04:09 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 5:

Jeff Sackwa, you know, or somebody else. By the way, I hope Chelsea's listening when I said that.

00:04:14 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 4:

Does it depend on how close you are with the person?

00:04:17 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

Well, these guys weren't even close. It was just that he knew that this person, he knew of this person and said, oh, yeah, you took my wife out, or ex-wife out. But I sat there and I thought to myself, and I wanted to know from our listeners, have you ever experienced this? Or have you ever been the ex that went on a date with your ex's friend after you guys get divorced? Like, is it off limits? Like, do you think it would be off limits? Like Mike and Kev, if you guys break up or split up or divorce or whatever from your significant others, are Mike's Alley, your Sherelle, my Chelsea, are they off limits to other guys that we know? So with Alley, I would say yes, but that's me being hypocritical.

00:05:00 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 3:

because I've got plenty of Eskimo twins out there. I've got plenty of buddies whose girls I have hooked up with. But today, married with my wife, I would say yes. I would say she's off limits. So in Grand Rapids, anybody that wants to, if they're ever going to date, and this is not happening, but hypothetically, Allie's got to go to Lansing to date. She cannot be dating in Grand Rapids. Out of state, out of state, probably. Oh, really? Yeah. She's got to go, like, across the Michigan-Indiana border there? Yeah, I mean, you've got to get out of Michigan. Hypothetically, what would you do if Sherelle started dating Zach, our audio guy? Laugh. Why? Because he's a funny guy?

00:05:43 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 2:

No, I'm not.

00:05:44 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 3:

Zach the homie.

00:05:45 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 2:

Like, I'd just laugh.

00:05:47 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 3:

He would laugh? Yeah. Zach, I think that you'd be a wonderful person to date. tony what's up hello how you doing this is a wild one tony we're talking about uh hooking up with somebody's ex

00:06:05 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 1:

yeah so i was uh i was married for five years and then got divorced and divorced for about three two or three and when i uh ran into my ex-wife for the first time in a while She told me that she hooked up with a family friend of, like, 20-plus years.

00:06:24 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God. Why do you think she told you that?

00:06:27 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 1:

Well, I mean, granted, I was the a-hole in the relationship. I'll give her that. Okay. So she was trying to get back at me, which, fair enough. How did it make you feel? Kind of funny because I know both of them very well.

00:06:44 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 3:

Did you picture them hooking up with each other? Because that's a thing I would think.

00:06:47 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah, and it was gross.

00:06:49 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 5:

I can still hear the disgust in your voice.

00:06:55 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 1:

That's why I don't really care, and I'll never tell anyone that I have this information unless at some point in my life it will benefit me.

00:07:07 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

I kind of like Tony. Listen to Katie's. Katie, are you there?

00:07:12 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 5:

Yes, I am.

00:07:13 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 3:

Katie, this is wild.

00:07:15 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 4:

your ex-husband's friend has been trying to hook up with you yeah so we uh we were together for like 10 years and then we ended up getting a divorce after our twins were born they were born at 24 weeks and like we had a lot of difficulties with them so we you know we stayed the course like We stayed together, and it just didn't work out for us. And so then when we broke up, before our divorce was even final, I had not just one, but, like, there were multiple of his friends in my DMs. Really?

00:07:57 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 3:

Wow. Does that make you feel good?

00:07:59 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 4:

Unless his friends are a bunch of douchebags. It's a D-bag, yeah, exactly. I was like, ha-ha, like, look at this.

00:08:07 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 2:

Did they ever try to hit on you during the marriage?

00:08:10 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 4:

um yes i actually we went on a double date with this one particular guy with his wife and me and my husband when before i we had the kids um and he didn't talk to his wife the whole time and he was

00:08:28 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 3:

like talking to me the whole entire time you're like a psychic aren't you that's crazy it was

00:08:33 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 4:

very weird but like now it's getting even more weird because every other day it's like he's texting me he's writing me online and i'm like i like his wife like i he's a nice person now

00:08:45 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 2:

when he was horrible when he was hitting on you did you shut it down immediately or how did you

00:08:51 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 4:

respond yeah so i have shut it down i tell him i'm like listen you are married um like i do think he's a nice person but i'm like you're married you have three children like yeah i'm not going to be the reason that you ruin your family the reason why i ask is because i feel like if you

00:09:15 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 2:

don't shut it down the first time then i get the vibe that even if you shut it down the second

00:09:22 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 3:

time it's like nah you still oh aliza listen to this one hold the end of this one because this as a capper. Aliza, you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's up? What's going on, Aliza? We were talking about when people start hooking up with their, you know, people that they know

00:09:38 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 5:

as exes. Yeah. So a couple weeks ago, I went on a cruise with a previous guy that I had been seeing. We haven't hooked up in maybe like a year, year and a half. I went with him and one of his friends uh and then his friend and i ended up hooking up on the cruise and now since the cruise we've been seeing

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 6:

each other whoa wait do you think you'll ever say anything rock the boat uh yeah we rocked the boat

00:10:06 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 5:

honey um uh no he knew it he was like totally cool with it again he and i became friends afterwards like we never officially dated we just like hung out a lot and whatnot we were more friends with benefits uh he doesn't care he was like go ahead go for it i don't care you know what's

00:10:25 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 6:

amazing is that i would just want to know the entire time what kind of lover i was compared to what kind of lover they are, you know?

00:10:31 - 00:10:32 | Unknown:

That's true.

00:10:33 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 5:

One is soft and gentle, and one is much as go.

00:10:37 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 6:

Which one did you prefer? Yeah.

00:10:39 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 5:

I like a mix of both.

00:10:41 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 2:

Do they have a third friend? They've taken over cities before, but this July, they're bringing the X Games League Championship home to New Orleans, July 24th through 26th at the Superdome. This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:11:54 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 1:

I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, people in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be the thing you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out of the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State, with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.
