Hey there, I'm Kat. I'm a college athlete. I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, which caused back pain and stiffness every day. With Cosentix, I'm able to stay active.

It's Mojo in the morning show. I saw this TikTok, and I want KP then to tell her story. But I saw this TikTok of the creepiest way that a guy got a single girl's phone number. And it was a woman who was at the airport and listened to what this guy did.

00:02:51 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 8:

y'all i'm at the airport and the creepiest thing just happened to me so i'm sitting there on my layover and i get this text hi kristin which that's not even my name my name is nate i saw you and thought you were so beautiful so i had to find a way to talk to you i saw your number on your luggage tag and decided to text you i promise this isn't as weird as it seems give a guy a chance like what first of all he spelled my name wrong second of all if he wanted to talk to me so badly why didn't he come up and talk to me like a normal human being like this just feels like such an invasion of friends i have no idea who this guy is like i didn't notice a guy looking at me or anything and i'm also extra weirded out because like i have my address on

00:03:43 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 4:

my luggage tag so he could potentially know where i live now isn't that crazy that's just as bad as going into somebody's mailbox like a neighbor or something and getting their name and information

00:03:55 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 11:

from that to find out more about them yeah so so here's a word of warning and this is to to everybody i mean not just women but guys too um turn your on your if you do travel turn your on your luggage tag your name around just have your name in there but have it on the not being able the C side of the thing that's attached to your luggage. Well, most luggage

00:04:19 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 7:

tags have a cover. They have that little flap.

00:04:23 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 11:

You should utilize that. A lot of people will just write on their luggage. I see this sometimes where they'll write in Sharpie their name and their phone number on there. I'm thinking to myself, I'm like, you guys have no idea. You pretty much just gave your number to that person. But her address, of all things, too. That's crazy.

00:04:38 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 3:

You remember the iPhone, I want to say the last update, a lot of people, or Apple got flack because they had that tap to absorb the information of whosoever phone that you were tapping. And you had to go in your settings and remove that because you can get somebody's number, and if they have their address attached to their contact, you can get that information as well.

00:04:56 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

You know what's so interesting about this story is it –

00:05:00 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 4:

do find it really creepy but if this was 20 years ago this would be a rom-com and we would all be like oh my god it's so cute what is the point what's the point of having your address on the tag anymore because at least a phone number even that's too much for me there's so much technology these days if you find a suitcase in the you know wherever they could just look up the person who it is who is this person where are they flying like you don't need to put that personal information

00:05:25 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 1:

on your luggage anymore yeah you got to hear k what kp the the the lengths that somebody went to

00:05:30 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 4:

to try to get a hold of kp yeah i don't know how they did this but i get a text from mama kp she's like i just got this weird text um that says first time long time hi kp uh and i'm like that's not weird that's what our listeners do when they call into the show and it's their first time on the air but it is a little bit strange that they got my mom's number how did they get my mom so they were trying to reach you through yeah i don't know where that is and we were trying to figure out where her phone number could be posted because that's just crazy yeah because we've never even said her name yeah we only know her as mama kp or maybe she maybe they were trying to text mama kp i don't know who knows but that's just that's just odd you know um 844 mojo live 844-665-666

00:06:20 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 1:

6548 i'm going to use this segment obviously as a segment that you know we can get it out there that you got to be careful uh but also i want to hear some of the crazier things that you know you guys have encountered and how you dealt with them because i always want to know how you deal with something like that like this girl at the airport i she said it right if the guy was that interested in her why don't you just walk up and say hi to her like what we live in such a technology age where we text everything to people. You can't even walk up to somebody and just go, hey, I don't know what your name is, but would you want to go get a drink at the Starbucks here in the airport, in the terminal? People are just too afraid to go in and do that. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Hey, is Kat there? Are you there, Kat? Hey, guys. Hey, Kat. You've got to tell these stories, by the way. Everybody's got to tell these stories so that people are aware you have to be careful what happened to you how did the guy get your

00:07:19 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 2:

phone number so i was driving minding my own business my office called me and she was like hey we got a weird call somebody called and said that you did work at their house described you said that they didn't know your name though didn't remember your name and uh so she asked more information what did she do there you know i worked in instruction and uh he couldn't provide an address couldn't provide what i did so she he was like okay well we're not giving out her phone number there's no information that you're giving up wait how did he get how did he get your work phone number she no he tried getting it he tried calling the office and explaining but how did he know what the office was explain that to me uh driving my work truck right so she he knew the name of your business okay yeah it's right there on the work truck yeah wow i met megan my husband and i met megan about a month ago in some parking lot and i was like hey what's going on blah blah blah and uh she told me who she was and what she was doing there and i was like oh my god you're

00:08:26 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 1:

so pretty you remember me megan uh she's out of the studio yeah so she's out of the studio every number. Did you get her number though? Oh, okay. Yeah. No, but can, uh, Kat, can I tell you something? That's the thing is that you don't realize you're, you're a driving billboard, right? You're driving around and you're, you're company's work fan. And obviously you work in a profession as a woman where guys see a good looking woman driving in that truck. They're going to call and your company that you work for a smart that they, you know, didn't just say, Oh yeah, here's Kat's number. Give her a call. Right. Right. Listen to the Chelsea's. Chelsea's

00:09:02 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

is even freakier. Chelsea? Yeah, I'm here. How did the guy get your number? So I was at secretary of state and I waited until I was 18 to get my license. So I was just starting the process because you have to go twice. You have to get a permit and then you go for, you know, your regular license. And I went in there for my permit. I'm super excited, filling out all the papers, doing everything I got to do. And he hands me another piece of paper that says phone number on it and i said phone number again and he goes in case we need to get a hold of you and i'm not thinking about it i'm goofy 18 and i'm all excited to get my license and i write my phone number down and as my friend and i are leaving because she drove me up there i'm thinking i think i just gave this dude my number like that that's so weird i didn't even make it home it was only a 10 minute drive he called me within five minutes of me walking out of the door at secretary of day he called me and I told him I

00:10:00 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 1:

said hey you know i didn't want to be a jerk and i said hey i i'm driving um i will call you back i said this your cell phone i'll call you back when i get home give me a few minutes he called me two more times within 15 minutes of me telling him i would call him back and then i said hey look i said don't you think it was a little bit unprofessional of you to give me that piece of paper and not say anything i said i i said i didn't mean to give you my phone number i said that was an accident oh well i'm sorry about that i guess i should have asked but i i still want to talk to you and i said i i don't think so i i don't think this is a good idea i said you know

00:10:40 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 4:

did you call the secretary of state's office and turn him in because i i mean i can only imagine that the secretary of state's not going to be happy about that well i did after so here's the

00:10:51 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 1:

worst part after i had taken my driver's test i went back up there again and i went to a different secretary of state to avoid this guy he was at the other one subbing for another employee when he saw me standing in the line he went and got somebody else and switched and then i called later on because i'm like this guy is obviously bouncing all over the place i was only 18 he he He honestly did not look like he was any younger than, like, 30.

00:11:19 - 00:11:29 | Speaker 4:

Wow. Well, here's, and this is the thing. This guy's already got your info. He works for the Secretary of State, so in a position of power like that, that's even scarier to know that he's calling up.

00:11:29 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 1:

Tell this guy to leave me alone and stop calling me. He's got my social. He's got my ass. Yes. Oh, God. I didn't even think about all that. Yeah. Wow. That's amazing. Now I have to tell this guy who could be psycho.

00:11:40 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Jocelyn Benson. Man, come on. By the way, Natalie's on with us. Listen to this one. Natalie, you there?

00:11:47 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 3:

I'm here, yes. Hi. Good morning.

00:11:50 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 4:

Listen to this story here.

00:11:52 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 3:

So I worked at a bar next to the mall a while back, and I needed to run in and get something before work. And I was in a rush, and as I was pulling out, I accidentally dinged this guy's car. And there was actually more damage to mine than to his, but I wanted to do the right thing. So I put my name and number and left it on his windshield. And as I was getting into my car, he came walking out, and I guess he worked in the mall, and I apologized profusely. And I said, look, I'm late for work. Can you, you know, you have my name and number. He started calling me, asking me on dates. I don't know how he found out where I worked. I guess he knew it was close by. He started coming in and leaving jewelry. At the bar, I was bartending, texting me. I didn't want to be rude at first, but he said it was fate that I dinged his car. Jesus.

00:12:56 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 4:

You were in a relationship with somebody at the time, or what were you doing at the time?

00:12:59 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I had a boyfriend, and this guy was a lot older than me.

00:13:03 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 4:

I would have had my boyfriend go in there and beat his ass.

00:13:07 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 3:

Well, what happened was he started coming into my work. And eventually I had the bouncers tell him that if he didn't stop, that things were not going to be good for him. That is so scary.

00:13:20 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 4:

The sad part is that there's a lot of people that would sit there and go, oh, well, you know, if the guy was cute, you probably would have. But it's still, it's scary. It is scary to think that these guys, you know, this is fate. This is how I met him. That is not okay behavior when it is not reciprocated. No, no, no, no. The moment that you show the sign that you're not interested, all right, you know, I get it. You know what I mean?

00:13:41 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I mean, I told him immediately that I was in a serious relationship, and he just kept pursuing.

00:13:47 - 00:13:54 | Speaker 4:

Your story is crazy. All these stories are crazy. Listen, how about this one? How about Harper? Harper, are you there?

00:13:56 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 2:

Hey, good morning. First time, long time. Harper's on the phone.

00:14:00 - 00:14:05 | Speaker 4:

Harper, tell your story of how the creepy guy got your number.

00:14:05 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 2:

It was a little weird. It was a while ago. It was when Facebook dating first came on and we matched late at night. I went to bed. I woke up and noticed that he had liked all of my public pictures, which was a little creepy. So I just kind of thought I'd back off and not pursue it. And he kept messaging, didn't answer. And about a week later, I got a text on my phone. He'd found me on LinkedIn, found my phone number on LinkedIn and started texting me that way, wanting to get in touch.

00:14:35 - 00:14:50 | Speaker 4:

Geez. So a guy was able to go and just keep on going and going and going. And then LinkedIn's the scary part, too, because you think that's for business purposes, not realizing that some guy that you turned down on Facebook dating could go there and get all your info.

00:14:51 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 2:

Exactly. Wow. Man. Yeah, a little creepy. He kept going then. I also got flowers delivered to my house and he never had my address.

00:15:00 - 00:15:12 | Speaker 4:

These are all words of warning to you that you've got to be careful of. Don't put too much information out there. Shelby, this is one of those words of warning. Be careful how loud you speak to a person at a Best Buy. What happened?

00:15:13 - 00:15:35 | Speaker 6:

Hi. I walked into a Best Buy to get my phone fixed, and as they're fixing it, they're asking me multiple times to give my number, and so I did. And then they fixed my phone. I walked out, and I got a text message from somebody, and he said, Hi, I work at Best Buy. I heard you give your number out. I wonder if you want to go on a date with me.

00:15:35 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 4:

Shut up. Geek squad. Freak squad. Yeah, the freak squad.

00:15:41 - 00:15:49 | Speaker 5:

Did you turn around and report that person? I didn't. I should have. I just never went back to that guy ever again.

00:15:49 - 00:15:50 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

00:15:50 - 00:16:00 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah. I think that the Secretary of State's story, to me, is the most disturbing until this call came in. Voiceless guys, line 11. Initial T.

00:16:03 - 00:16:03 | Unknown:

Hello.

00:16:04 - 00:16:19 | Speaker 4:

T, we're talking right now about how they got your phone number. All started because there's that woman who got it off the baggage tag. And then, of course, KP. Somebody got her mom's number to reach out to KP. What's your story?

00:16:21 - 00:17:28 | Speaker 3:

Okay, so he didn't have to get my number. but um somebody got shot i was living in an apartment um downtown i'm sorry i'm out of breath i was doing something um he a police officer came to my door because someone got shot like right outside the apartment and i had a front-facing apartment so he came in asked me a bunch of questions got my information and then he left and then um about 15 minutes later I get a knock on the door again and it was the same police officer and so I let him in mind you I live by myself I was in my early 20s I wasn't dressed it was nighttime I had on like pajamas and a robe and he starts saying like um I know this is inappropriate but um you're so pretty and I just wanted to know like if if I could call you sometime and blah blah I was so uncomfortable and it was just the most horrible experience that i've ever had the guy's investigating

00:17:28 - 00:17:34 | Speaker 4:

a shooting and he's worried about getting a date is that unfreaking believable and it's like i never

00:17:34 - 00:17:40 | Speaker 3:

would have like answered the door it's like i felt so yeah yeah yeah you had already talked to him

00:17:40 - 00:17:45 | Speaker 4:

about the thing and you thought this was more about that did you ever call the police department to turn him in?

00:17:46 - 00:17:56 | Speaker 3:

Oh, no, I did not. I was terrified of, like, some sort of retaliation or something, so I just never said anything, and he didn't try to contact me again, so I just let it go.

00:17:57 - 00:17:58 | Speaker 4:

These are insane stories. Wow.

00:17:59 - 00:18:01 | Speaker 5:

Line one. Do you see line one?

00:18:02 - 00:18:04 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Angela, what's up, Angela?

00:18:04 - 00:18:05 | Speaker 7:

Hi.

00:18:06 - 00:18:07 | Speaker 4:

Angela, what happened to you?

00:18:08 - 00:18:14 | Speaker 7:

The guy who sold me my car, he still calls and talks, and it's been three years. Whoa.

00:18:15 - 00:18:18 | Speaker 4:

And he's not trying to sell you a car? Like he's calling and texting because he wants you?

00:18:19 - 00:18:25 | Speaker 7:

He just calls and texts random things. Like, how are you? He found me on social media. It's crazy.

00:18:25 - 00:18:28 | Speaker 5:

I see up on our call screen board that he did something else to you as well.

00:18:29 - 00:18:31 | Speaker 7:

Oh, he showed up at my work.

00:18:31 - 00:18:31 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:18:31 - 00:18:37 | Speaker 7:

I work for myself. So it was like 10 or 11 o'clock at night, and he shows up with an energy drink.

00:18:38 - 00:18:44 | Speaker 4:

What in the actual heck? That's crazy. Yeah. It was scary. What did you do? Like, how did you get him away?

00:18:45 - 00:18:46 | Speaker 7:

I changed my phone number.

00:18:47 - 00:18:52 | Speaker 4:

Oh, wow. You obviously aren't going to be buying another car from that dealership, are you?

00:18:53 - 00:18:55 | Speaker 7:

No. Mm-mm. Nope. Wow.

00:18:56 - 00:19:03 | Speaker 4:

Well, I appreciate you so much for calling up. Thank you. Thanks. These stories are nuts.

00:19:04 - 00:19:08 | Speaker 5:

And they're so, like, our phone lines are packed with them. And each story is crazier than the next.
