It's Mojo in the Morning Show. Megan, how was opening day for the Mud Hens?

00:01:08 - 00:01:23 | Speaker 3:

Oh, it was a day. It was a day. I think everybody who was in downtown Toledo knew that the weather was not in our favor. It was cold and windy, which just means that I actually had a day drink to stay warm, and I got a little toasty.

00:01:23 - 00:01:30 | Speaker 5:

I always feel like it doesn't make a difference As long as it's not really wet Because it was wet

00:01:30 - 00:01:48 | Speaker 3:

You looked cute though Thank you, I appreciate it I did have a cute little windbreaker on I'm bringing back the 90s, one windbreaker at a time And I was really embarrassed Because I actually wore it during the show On Friday until you could start hearing Every time I moved I was like, oh, windbreakers I know

00:01:48 - 00:02:02 | Speaker 5:

Whenever I've worn Those type of jackets Or if you wear pants that are like, I don't know, like have a little bit of plasticky to them or their new jeans, they make more noise. People, you can't sneak up on people. Let's just put it that way.

00:02:02 - 00:02:56 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no, no. But I had a fun time. I actually, I ran into so many people. That's the best part about opening day is that you just run into everybody from your childhood to old coworkers, whatever it was. That's the best part. And you're all a little bit toasty. So everybody's a little bit nicer than we normally would be. but I did run into somebody that I know and um she had a huge announcement which was very exciting she was telling me that she uh just found out she's pregnant and it was oh we like we danced in the street it was gonna be fun I I couldn't believe it to be honest I kind of pictured her like me I didn't think she was ever gonna have kids and she was so happy I was like I'm so happy for you and then I looked down at her hand and I noticed she had a beer in her hands I said Well, these two things don't correlate. I didn't say anything because I don't feel like I could ever be in the place to say something in that situation.

00:02:57 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 5:

She was drinking and she was pregnant?

00:02:59 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 3:

Well, I gave her the look and then she goes, oh, no. And I went, oh, I mean, I'm not, you, do you question mark? I don't know what to do. And she goes, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is not a real beer. This is, hey, non-alcoholic beer. Yeah. She had packed her entire cooler, and she showed me non-alcoholic beer that she was, like, rolling around with in this, like, backpack cooler. And she goes, I knew I was going to run into so many people out here who know me, and if they saw me not drinking, they would assume. So I had to bring my own fake beer out to hide this pregnancy, and I thought it was hysterical. I thought it was genius, but I never really thought about how often people have to hide their pregnancies and how much of pain in the booty that would be.

00:03:46 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, that's, well, and you know what? When you're somebody that is with a bunch of people that are drinking, that's a tough one. Because that's how we found out that you were pregnant.

00:03:54 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 2:

I know, well, and I always think to myself, what does that say about me? That the moment I don't order a drink, people are like, she's pregnant. Are you okay with that? Yeah, or, yeah, something's going on. But both times, I mean, with Lucy, I found out, and then literally the next day, we left for a morning show trip to boot camp in Chicago. and I thought how in the heck am I going to do this because we drink when we're there we like to go out and have a good time and have a few drinks with dinner after dinner or whatever and so I remember actually Spike was sitting right next to me and I said to him I'm about to order something if you dare say anything I swear to God I will kill you and I said to the waitress can you please bring me just like a seltzer water with a lime but put it in like a cocktail glass which is funny because I just saw that part of it

00:04:42 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 5:

not knowing and I thought that's just Shannon. She's got a new drink in her life. She's not doing wine this time. I was more shocked, not that she was pregnant, but was that she wasn't drinking a bottle of wine. Correct.

00:04:54 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 3:

But then what happens when you do tell people I'm pregnant and they think a couple of weeks ago we were

00:05:00 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 1:

out drinking well and that happens i mean that that i yeah i had a rough night like two weeks

00:05:08 - 00:05:42 | Speaker 7:

before i found out i was pregnant with lucy and you you didn't know 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 how did you have to cover up the pregnancy and what was the craziest i bet you that the alcohol thing at parties is a tough one that's a big yeah you you kind of uh below your cover if you're not the normal drunk that you are uh going in uh and having drinks opening day is a tough one for that too because it's tough to probably find that at places right it's tough to find a non-alcoholic people still carry odouls right yeah i guess so but then people see you ordering it you know

00:05:42 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 1:

even i was gonna say i i mean i knew i think i did this too like you could even just take a regular not you know alcoholic beer like a regular drink and just you just hold it You know, and pretend to sip it. And that's what a lot of people do, too. Like, you know, yeah, go to the bathroom and drink out a little bit.

00:06:00 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 8:

Or if you're the spouse, you have to take those drinks. Like, if shots are given, you have to take those extra drinks. And then you become way more drunk than everybody else because you're trying to balance out everything.

00:06:12 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 7:

I'm always amazed at how people will try to cover up where it's starting to look like you're pregnant. And they'll try to cover that up. and that is always a big one too is like how do you decide that you're going to do that especially if you're somebody that normally doesn't wear a bag of your clothes I was going to say

00:06:29 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 8:

bring out the moo-moos yeah

00:06:32 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 7:

and nowadays I never actually assume anybody is pregnant because I've done that too many times in my life and got myself into trouble by you know saying you know oh you know and it was a bad you know bad thing as a dumb guy just to say that but what's up is it Kylie?

00:06:51 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 5:

yeah hey everyone what's going on um so where i work all my bosses i have a board of directors and this past christmas i was about eight to ten weeks pregnant we had our board christmas party and so before i got there i told the restaurant hey just put some sprite and grenadine and a drink make it match you know a cocktail and we're sitting there and one of my board of director goes man like you have to drive home you're really uh swinging back these drinks tonight

00:07:20 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 7:

Because you were thirsty You actually liked the taste of it

00:07:24 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 4:

I did, I totally forgot that I was pretending And my husband just gave me a look And I was like, oh yeah, I'll order a drink I'll order a water the next time we're out

00:07:34 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 7:

You know what, that's the thing that you pay The price you pay Because then all of a sudden If you actually are just trying to have refreshing drinks People now think that What's up, Erica?

00:07:45 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 6:

Good morning So I found out I was pregnant a month before my wedding. So we had to talk to the bartender that if anybody ordered the bride a drink, it would have to be a mocktail.

00:07:58 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 7:

Oh, yeah. And thank God, by the way, nowadays that bars have mocktails.

00:08:02 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 6:

And they're good.

00:08:03 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 7:

Because they never had that back in the day. That was never really that popular, was it, when Lucy and Smith were on?

00:08:08 - 00:08:13 | Speaker 6:

No, we just got married in October, too. So it was a time to hide it.

00:08:13 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, you could order one. And I just, I feel like a lot more people are doing the no alcohol thing, you know, right now. And so they'll put them on the menu.

00:08:21 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 7:

There's an entire bar here that's all mocktails.

00:08:23 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:08:24 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 7:

They call them virgins back in our day. Remember that? They'd be like, it's a virgin. Can I get a virgin margarita? Or, yeah, or strawberry daiquiri. What's going on, Mojo in the morning? Hello. Hello. Hey, who's this?

00:08:37 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 3:

This is Angie from Port Huron.

00:08:39 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 7:

Hey, Angie from Port Huron. Want to take one last call on this one. What's going on?

00:08:44 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 3:

Well, I was at a wedding reception, and I do DJ on the side. So I was out there on the dance floor as a guest and doing the Soul Train line. But everyone's like, why are you not doing your normal dances? What's going on with you tonight? You're being weird. And that's when I announced to everyone that I was pregnant.

00:09:01 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 7:

Wait, what's the difference between your dances when you're pregnant and your dances when you're not pregnant?

00:09:07 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 3:

You know, it was my first pregnancy, so I was, like, super cautious. You just don't shake as much. And I didn't go all out. I just was kind of strolling instead of, you know, doing the twerk.

We've all seen the headlines. Florida man wrestles alligator in a tuxedo, or Florida man sues after finding toenails in his ice cream.

00:10:29 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 2:

It's easy to laugh at the meme, but have you ever wondered about the human behind the headline?

Hey, I'm Frankie P.
