All right, it's Mojo on the Morning Show, your home of War of the Roses, the Dirty on the 30, Second Date Update, Throwback Throwdown, all coming up. Kevin, are you sure you wanted to talk about this? Yeah, why not? Okay, what do you got? Have y'all ever seen somebody quit? Quit at their job? Oh, God. I don't think I've ever witnessed anybody quit. Oh, yeah, I did. I witnessed when I was at a restaurant. I saw somebody, like, leave. Did they leave in a blaze of glory? They, well, they just left. They just walked out. They came up to our table, and they said, we're really sorry. Your, you know, waitress is gone. I remember that, yeah.

00:03:16 - 00:03:24 | Speaker 9:

Well, we got somebody that's quitting today, and I don't see them right now, so I don't know if it's already happened or not.

00:03:24 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 8:

but

00:03:25 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 7:

I hope they don't want it. Is this known information aside from us? I don't know.

00:03:30 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 8:

I don't think so. You probably shouldn't talk about it.

00:03:32 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 7:

I'm not going to say any names. So why don't we do

00:03:34 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 8:

this? Let's ask this question. Have you ever witnessed somebody just quit? Have you ever witnessed somebody quit? And if so, what was the way that they quit? How did they quit?

00:03:44 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 9:

I used to have quitting dreams. I always thought if I were to quit, we all have those thoughts sometimes and maybe our earlier years like, man, if I were to quit, this is how I would do it but I've never quit before I've been fired see oh I've been fired what was firing it like they walk you into a room middle of the day and now luckily I've never been fired at the end of a shift so I've never had to work the entire day and then get that because I

00:04:09 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 8:

feel middle of the day though it seems equally as bad I feel that because why did I have to wake up

00:04:14 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 9:

in the morning and come here I could have just called me last night y'all didn't make that

00:04:16 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 8:

decision this morning I always believe that if you're gonna fire somebody just fire them right at the beginning of their shift and like be even before they like fire them by having the key card not work no call me the night before no so i can stay up late i've had that too you had did you

00:04:32 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 7:

like i've gotten fired twice well okay so the first time that i got fired from the morning our entire morning show got fired it wasn't just me each time but um the first time i got fired the company that i worked for sent us on a week-long cruise with like a thousand listeners Oh, I like that, though. We get home on a Sunday. That night, the boss calls and says, you don't have to come in anymore. The show is no longer. I don't feel bad for you at all. Okay. You just got off a week-long cruise.

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 1:

The second time we did our whole show

00:05:04 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 2:

and when we got back into our office all of the bosses were waiting in there for us and they said and that was your last show.

00:05:13 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 1:

And that was it. You can't even say goodbye. And by the way, it is extremely rare in radio. I feel like lately it's been way more popular to let people say goodbyes on the radio. Usually companies do not let you do that. and I've seen more people I think maybe it'd just be here and Tony trusting some people to do it but he's allowed you to do it when I first got into radio when I was 18 years old, I mean they had people in security jackets escorting you out of the stations

00:05:46 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 2:

and I think

00:05:49 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 1:

the biggest thing is they don't want you to go on the air and say something you shouldn't be saying you know what's funny I've never been fired For real? Ever. Fuck you, bro. Yeah, isn't that crazy? I've never been fired from a radio job. I've been fired from other stuff. What else have you been fired from? I've been fired from a restaurant job. I was fired at one of those. I was fired from my newspaper delivery job when I was a little kid. I was a newspaper delivery guy. The guy basically was upset with me because I would take half of the newspapers and deliver them. The other half of the newspapers, I'd put them in a garbage can. But as far as quitting goes, and I've thought about this, too. Like I've thought about how to, how to quit and I actually had, so, so I quit two jobs. So I quit a job in Chicago to go to Arizona, quit the job in Arizona to come here. And when I went into the office of, uh, each of the programmers, I'm a crier. I cried. And so I couldn't get out my, I couldn't get out my, uh, my I'm quitting. Yeah. And I walk into the office and I'll never forget. The last one was Debbie. Debbie Wagner was my general manager in Arizona, and I was going to take this job in Detroit. And even though it was the same company, she didn't know that it was going to happen because they don't tell each other. You know, nowadays it probably would be they would call her and say, hey, we're looking at hiring somebody. And I walked into her office and she goes, what's going on? How's everybody doing? How's the kids? We had just had Jacob. How's the baby doing? And I'm like, oh, really good. I really want to talk to you about something. And she's like, yeah. And I go, well, this is really, really difficult.

00:07:21 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 2:

I can totally see this happening. No, no.

00:07:25 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 1:

She gets up, comes around the other side, comes over and goes, maybe Chelsea has postpartum. And that's why. And she thought I was getting divorced or something. She thought Chelsea was divorcing me or leaving me. And I'm like, no, Chelsea and I are great. We're going to Detroit. She's like, I'm leaving you. And this was actually kind of interesting because she was like not happy at all. Like not excited because. because for her she was losing her morning show yeah and you guys were wildly successful we were we had a great show yeah so but but it was one of those ones where i've thought to myself i'm like i should not be the person that calls somebody and tells them i'm leaving or quitting or whatever the deal is because i can't keep it together to get emotional but um i with the with megan megan quit uh with us so that was like when she uh came in there i didn't expect that she's like i'd like to have a conversation with you and i'm like wow this is great this is very professional uh no no she was very very uh um you know professionally you know i would not be professional i'd be like you i'd be a puddle oh my god it depends on what i had lined up i mean what's

00:08:35 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 2:

up shannon how you doing hey guys good morning good morning shannon so i worked at arby's right and i won't say this guy's name because i know it's a lot of my friends that used to work there that still, you know, still worked there. So I won't do that. But we had a guy that quit. And when he quit, he cursed out everybody. The manager, the shift manager. And after he did that, he left out the back door. But before he left, he took Arby's sauce, horsey sauce, like all of those dipping sauces and threw them all over the walls and the back door. So the people on the next shift had to clean that up. Oh, my gosh. That's a blaze of glory.

00:09:14 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 1:

That is.

00:09:15 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 2:

By the way. No, he's Latin. Now, you said blaze of glory, and that's what made me call, because if you're talking about somebody leaving in a blaze of glory, that guy left in a blaze of glory.

00:09:26 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 1:

Let me tell you this. You do not do that to horsey sauce. That is the best sauce in the world.

00:09:30 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 2:

Okay, that's abuse. Right? That is abuse.

00:09:35 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 1:

That is abusive, yes. You do not mess around with my horsey sauce. I love my horsey sauce.

00:09:41 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 2:

Okay. I don't know if I've ever had that.

00:09:43 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 1:

Oh, it's the best. What's up, Donovan? How you doing?

00:09:45 - 00:09:47 | Unknown:

Where is his office?

00:09:47 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 2:

Good, how are you?

00:09:48 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 1:

Good, what's happening?

00:09:49 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

First time, long time. Hey! Jonathan, I'm in for you! So, I was working at a car wash in high school, and we had this new manager start.

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 7:

I was working with him at a different car wash, and then he came to the car wash I was working at. I can't say that.

00:10:06 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 3:

I got a dump. Okay, let me just say this. When we do a topic about people that are going out in a blaze of glory and quitting, we probably should expect that some people are going to call their bosses a-holes. You cannot say that word on the air. Go ahead, Donovan. Say the rest.

00:10:23 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 7:

Nine of us quit all at the same time, and we quit by leaving a note. Wow.

00:10:29 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 3:

What did the notes say? Oh, please be safe with the stuff that you say.

00:10:35 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 6:

It was just, we quit, we're done. And it just had all of our names. And we left all of our shirts on the desk.

00:10:42 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 3:

That was it? It's like the Declaration of Independence. Yeah. And did they try to get you guys to come back? Or were they able to function as a company? Man, I can't imagine when everybody walks out at the same time. That's called a strike. What's going on, Brianna? How you doing?

00:10:56 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 5:

hi good how are you guys we're good brianna what's up so i used to work at jets pizza and my last two weeks that i put in because i got a new job the very last week i was scheduled to work 50 hours total and i went in on a sunday and i was getting ready to prep the dough and i all of a sudden just decided you know what i really don't want to do this and i really don't want to work these next 50 hours because that wasn't really fair to me so i just walked out i stopped prepping the dough i left the drivers i left the insider and i just was like bye guys no no i don't

00:11:35 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 3:

love it that was my order that was yeah you'll love it until your order doesn't come and then you're all upset 30 minutes or less it's free man by the way when you left did you steal a big old thing of uh jet's ranch because that's the best ranch ever it's so funny that you guys say that

00:11:53 - 00:11:57 | Speaker 5:

Because, you know, there's an entire gallon of mayo put into that ranch. I don't care.

00:11:57 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 3:

Can I be honest with you? It needs two gallons of mayo. That's how good that is. Tony, what's up? Secrets.

00:12:04 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 2:

What's up?

00:12:04 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 3:

How you doing?

00:12:06 - 00:12:07 | Speaker 2:

I'm doing good. How you doing?

00:12:07 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 3:

Fantastic. We're talking about how'd you quit or how'd you get fired? What's up?

00:12:11 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 2:

What happened, Tony? So, look, I used to work at this seeding plant in Highland Park. And this guy, he was a temp. He said he had to go to the bathroom. He went to the bathroom. and now it's been about a half hour and the guy never came back. Wait, wait, wait. So I go to the bathroom to make sure he good. He left his vest, helmet, and paper on the screen.

00:12:35 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 3:

Oh, that's funny. Is a seeding plant like a sperm bank?

00:12:39 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 2:

No, it's like we do seeds for Chrysler Ford and GM.

00:12:42 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 3:

Oh, got a seeding plant, not a seeding plant. I was like, that's a cool way of seeing it. You know what's funny, though? It's him going, I got to go to the bathroom. And then he just takes off and leaves. That, to me, is like the perfect way to leave a job. Because then everybody's going to not follow you out or anything like that or look at your eyes. They're just going to think that you're in the can the entire time. Some of those jobs make you pay for the uniform, though. So I'm not leaving that. Nope, no uniform. Take it off and leave it in stall number two. What's up, Kim? How you doing? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:13:17 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 8:

Good morning. Good morning, everybody. Good morning. My son works for IT for a very large southeastern Michigan company, and people would call him and say, my ID doesn't work. Well, he had suspended it, and their boss hadn't told them yet that they were fired.

00:13:35 - 00:13:38 | Speaker 3:

Oh. Yeah, that happens.

00:13:38 - 00:13:45 | Speaker 8:

So they couldn't get into any of their stuff, and they're like, well, why doesn't my ID work? And he's like, oh, you need to talk to your boss.

00:13:45 - 00:13:53 | Speaker 3:

You want to know if you're going to get fired around this place? try to log in online moments before you go to a Tony Travato office meeting.

00:13:54 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 2:

That's not good. If you can't log in online,

00:13:57 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 3:

you know something bad's about to happen. They've taken you off of the Instagram, Facebook accounts, all that stuff.

00:14:05 - 00:14:15 | Speaker 1:

That's actually, by the way, how I know that something happened is I get the text of, here are the new passwords for all the accounts. I'm like, oh no, who got fired?

00:14:15 - 00:14:16 | Speaker 3:

Leonard, what's up?

00:14:17 - 00:14:52 | Speaker 4:

Hey, what's going on? I worked out at the Z-Bart in Faith City, and I basically worked at a grown man-child. Because if he hung out with anybody else, he would cry about it the next day at work. He wanted to be in everybody's conversation. Well, it was on a Wednesday, and he was really getting on my nerves. So I finished up with my clients, and I was going to punch out, and he was like, you all done? I was like, yep, I'm done permanently. punched out and walked right out of the garage door. Wow, you just kind of did it. And they're looking like,

00:14:52 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 3:

what? When you say a man-child, a grown-ass man-child, you're saying that the guy was a pain in the ass?

00:15:00 - 00:15:16 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah. Because it's, so it was two other guys that I worked with, and we will hang out outside of work. So if he found out about that, he would complain about that. Like, nobody told me, or y'all were going to tell y'all was going to Deers, or going here. He wanted to be part of everything.

00:15:17 - 00:15:17 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:15:17 - 00:15:19 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, reference this to it all day.

00:15:20 - 00:15:37 | Speaker 2:

Well, I'm going to tell you this, that the people here at our building are going to miss the person that's leaving today. So we love the guy. And I'm not going to give out business on the air, but I'll tell you that it won't be the same without him.
