was the catalyst for their visit but then all day i kept getting messages from people like hey are you going to stop here for free pie are you going to stop here for three dollar and 14 cent pie i know blaze pizza in novi when i drove by i had a line around the block because their pizzas were three dollars and 14 cents for pie day which is actually a really good deal but my question is How long is your time worth? Like, how long do you stand in line? Grand Traverse Pie Company was doing a free slice. Well, if you have to wait two or three hours for a free slice of pie. Were people waiting that long? My friend waited almost an hour, but that was at a quiet time. So at lunch hour, I guess they were even crazier. And I'm like, it's a free slice of pie. Like, how long do you wait for free food where it becomes not worth the wait anymore? For instance, Monday, this coming Monday, is Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen. Oh. Because it's always the first day of spring they celebrate, and you have to wait in line for an hour to get an ice cream cone that cost $1.99. And I think at this point, I would probably just hand somebody $2 to not have to wait in line.

No, it's about the experience, man. When Raising Cane's opened in Toledo the first day, it wasn't even free. I paid full price. I waited four and a half hours for that chicken. Oh, my God.

line um i will tell you that the only time that i get excited over free stuff like when it's like freebies and i was one of those that would stand in line was 7-eleven day the slurpy day that was it and i don't know why but i think it's because i was on a 7-eleven slurpy kick and i was like oh it's 7-Eleven day and there's one that used to be on my way home that I would stop at. But you're right. Do you wait? I mean, Blaze Pizza is good.

I learned that in 9th grade economics class. Shout out to Mrs. Glusky. I know she listens. But time is money. So if you're waiting, you know, two hours

for an ice cream cone and then you didn't get anything done today.

The one I do get is the people that will wait. Like, I can't remember if Sonic or Chick-fil-A did it. Chick-fil-A. Did it where you, the first 50 people get like free Chick-fil-A for a year or something. That's worth it to me.

Really worth that much for a chicken sandwich to wait an hour is silly. Yeah.

No, I just don't think you find joy in life because that kind of joy that a hot chicken sandwich brings me or chicken tenders is worth it. Nothing brings me joy the way warm food does.

You go out there and you set up your chair Before the sun rises And by the time the workers get there At 9 in the morning There's already 100 people in line For the barbecue Because they sell out by noon So if you want the best barbecue in the United States You gotta get there at 5am But that's fun, that's an experience You're tailgating, you're having a party With everybody in line

And you've traveled

And then you've got all your friends That text you, what do you want, what do you need Well, get me a thing of brisket. Well, get me this. And all of a sudden, your order is like $800 worth of meat, and you just have the meat sweats afterwards.

I laugh because I know Todd, and Todd's a wait-in-line guy. Like, Todd's the same guy that would wait in line at a Harmony house back in the day for concert tickets.
