All right, it is Mojo in the morning. Kev, what's going on, man? My whole life is here.

00:02:10 - 00:02:31 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, so I had an amazing event at Total Wireless in Clinton Township on Harper Avenue. Big shout out to the team there. They had pizza, fun, food, games, and the whole nine. Met some great listeners. and there was one guy who was outside trying to explain to a woman that he worked with about the Mojo in the Morning Show.

00:02:32 - 00:02:35 | Speaker 5:

Oh, so she wasn't a listener? She just came there to a shop? Okay.

00:02:35 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 6:

Kind of, yeah. So once he told me that he was explaining to her, I was like, well, let me go out there and explain to her. Let me tell her who I am, tell her about our show and kind of the things that we do. And during the course of our conversation, I realized she was from Chicago. So I'm like, okay, well, what are you doing here? She's like, oh, I moved here. I'm like, okay, well, what made you move here? She was like, my ex-husband. I was like, okay, this is kind of interesting. I don't want to dig too deep, but like, what's going on? She was like, I lived in Chicago. I came here. We dated for 19 years, married for 13. Then we got a divorce and my whole life is here. And this is all I know. I didn't want to move back home. I was like damn what is that like because I couldn't imagine picking up and leaving my everything being married to someone in a whole new state and city that I don't really know anybody in making this my home for over a decade and then divorcing a person that I've known and then now I'm just stuck here

00:03:41 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 4:

it happens a ton it happens all day

00:03:44 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 5:

it happened in Chelsea or not Chelsea but Chelsea moved here without having anybody here but are we all still together though yeah but if you so are you saying that if you divorced if you move somewhere like you say that you moved uh to another place because of your spouse had a job or whatever their family was there yeah the moment you get divorced if you have kids you just don't you can't they're there they didn't have kids they had no kids they don't

00:04:08 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 6:

have kids at all wow now me i'm not gonna say i'm a social butterfly but i think i would have my own set of friends or it wouldn't be hard for me to like go outside of whatever relationship it is that I have with my spouse and kind of quote unquote make my own life for her she was like I don't have anyone wow so it was like like what are you just doing you just go to work and

00:04:29 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 4:

go home type of vibe yeah so that was Wes he was lived in Canada was born and raised in Canada met his ex-wife who was from here so when they got married he moved here became an American citizen they had their kids well then they got divorced and the kicker is when he got when they got divorced Wes was single for a little while but then he had this idea of he was going to split his time between Michigan and warm weather like Arizona or something and so the way that he and his ex-wife share the kids like he could go out there for chunks of days at a time work you know get some sunshine and come back and then so that's what he was going to do he was about to do and then he met me then i really threw a wrench into the equation so now he's really stuck here so you know what i mean he's not going back to canada and he's definitely not getting you know whatever a place in arizona that was his dream he had no interest in going back to canada huh well his kids were here and mom was here you know so um and he took such pride in becoming an american citizen because he married this american woman so uh is

00:05:34 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 1:

there anybody listening to the show right now that was forced to move here wherever wherever here is uh did were you did did somebody bring you i always i think it's interesting whenever i hear and we've had this with war of the roses where people will you know marry somebody and then move them to the destination and then they get divorced within a short time of them marrying and then to sit there and go wow now what do I do do I move back or if you're not married

00:06:06 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 4:

there are so many that really go out on a limb and take such a huge risk of following a boyfriend who got a new job going okay we're not there's no commitment we're not engaged we're not married

00:06:17 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 1:

but i love this person so much so i'm gonna yeah i'm gonna go 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 is our telephone number um i will uh i will tell you this that when chelsea and i first got uh here and first moved back to the midwest because i was from the midwest she was from arizona we actually struggled the most probably in the first year that we lived here she was going to move back to arizona and i think that that was the the proximity of her moving and then taking the kids and moving back and me having a job here probably is the only thing that kept us together at that time like that we had to really kind of force but that was going to be tough like that was going to be a that was a tough go because i i started right away uh said i told our boss at the time uh steve schramm i said hey i think i got to move back to arizona because i think chelsea's going to you know leave me and we're going to go back um and i think honestly her taking the kids and moving away from their dad probably is the only thing that saved our marriage at that time thank god uh what's up sarah hi hey how's it going good what's going on um i feel like i had

00:07:29 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 2:

to call in because this actually happened to my cousin's girlfriend she moved all the way from hawaii to be with him here in michigan oh my gosh no it's uh a little bit far um and are they still

00:07:43 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 1:

together no they broke up but he has kids with him so she's got to stay boy she got the short end hawaii hawaii though would be an interesting place to live though i don't know if i could live in hawaii i'd have island fever she probably cold yeah i know he met her on vacation and

00:08:04 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 2:

somehow convinced her to move all the way here to be with him we never understood it does she

00:08:09 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 1:

wear sweatshirts on 80 degree days because she is always cool i mean she's lived here for so long

00:08:16 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 2:

she's probably like adjusted now but she's she's so wonderful she really is the sweetest yeah that's

00:08:21 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 1:

nice aloha i i couldn't imagine i couldn't imagine the opposite of that like i couldn't imagine moving to hawaii you couldn't because at least in michigan you can drive to places in hawaii you're stuck you're stuck on an island and the close like the people that that you know i've been to hawaii once and the closest that you you are to anything is probably what california or whatever so you're yeah that's still a three-hour flight or something isn't it um it's it's a long ways away um texture here says kevin you're speaking about me my husband moved us to michigan for a job in the the auto industry, got fired from his job. Then we got divorced. Now I'm having to sit here in Michigan and live. Another one from Ohio, same situation almost. Moved to Ohio, moved to Toledo for their spouse, and then their spouse cheated on them with his high school sweetheart. Oh, my God. That's even worse. Brittany, what's up? Hi.

00:09:20 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 3:

Good morning. So I'm similar to Shannon and Wes. I moved down here because, well, I'm from Michigan originally, And I moved down here because I wanted, like, just a change of pace or whatever, but then I was going to move back within a year, and then I met my husband down here, and I've been down here for 12 years. We've actually, I enjoy it now, but I hated it at first, and, like, I could not wait to go back home. And now every couple years, I get to, I'm actually coming home in two weeks, and I'm like, I just, sometimes I still miss it. Sometimes I wish he would move up there with me, but I get it, and I stay because he's happy here. He's established here, but I miss Michigan. I miss home, so I get it.

00:09:58 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Wow, but you're in Florida.

00:10:00 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 2:

if you are going to whine about Florida. Where in Florida are you?

00:10:06 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 4:

So we're in Haines City, which is the central part of the state, and we're 45 minutes from Disney. So I go to Disney just to like work and like walk around.

00:10:12 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 2:

Oh, wow.

00:10:14 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 5:

Listen, guess what?

00:10:16 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 2:

Michigan ain't so pure. I'll take sunshine and blue skies in January.

00:10:22 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 5:

Well, I want to see you guys when I come up there, so I'm excited.

00:10:24 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 2:

Come by and say hi to us. Yeah, please. No, don't come for us. What's up, Madeline? Hi.

00:10:30 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 4:

Hi. Not my first time, but a long time, long time. We love you. Welcome back. I love you guys. Thanks. We love you. We love you too. Originally from Berkeley, Michigan. My husband and I live out in Seattle now, so I'm kind of a little biased when it comes to this. But my friend out here in Seattle, she is moving in a few weeks to go with her boyfriend who just moved to Chicago. And I don't think it's a good idea. They've only been together, like, just barely over a year. Yeah. And I haven't told, I mean, I don't think I should tell her, and she's going to learn. but I know I'm biased too because I moved out to Seattle with my boyfriend at the time and we weren't married and we weren't even engaged but we were together for like a little over three years so I know I'm like you know have my own perspective too but

00:11:30 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 2:

that's interesting so you're trying to talk her out even though you had to do the same as I think that's a tough move that's not like you're moving it's not like going to Wisconsin you know what I mean yeah Seattle's a little further

00:11:41 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 4:

she doesn't know anybody yeah So she's going to be, like, super alone, doesn't even have a job lined up. So I'm very scared.

00:11:50 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 2:

And the weather's different, too. You got all that. They always talk about the rainy weather out in Seattle. But I don't know. I'll tell you what. You do it for love, right, Desiree? You do it for love.

00:12:02 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 3:

Exactly.

00:12:03 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 2:

Where did you move from?

00:12:03 - 00:12:23 | Speaker 3:

That's what happened. I moved here from Naperville, Illinois. Okay. So, yeah. So I moved here to be with my now husband. But at the time, we had only been dating for about six months. So coming here, not knowing anybody. I have a big family back home. So leaving them was hard. And now we have two kids.

00:12:23 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 2:

And you can't have Giordano's pizza anytime you want to.

00:12:27 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 3:

No, we can't.

00:12:28 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 2:

I know.

00:12:29 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 3:

So it's been rough. We're good, though. We're good people. We love you.

00:12:34 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 2:

We're welcoming you here.

00:12:36 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 3:

Well, thank you.

00:12:37 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:12:38 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 3:

I appreciate it.

00:12:39 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 2:

Neighborville is a nice place. That's a beautiful community. My family lives not that far from there. Okay. Yeah, it's great. We'll take the Megabus together. I mentioned the Megabus last week, and somebody goes, have you ever been on the Megabus? I go, are you crazy? There ain't no way. My kids have been, though. My kids have been on it going back to college when they went to Chicago. Alexis, hi.

00:12:59 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 3:

Hi. How are you guys? How are you doing? Good morning.

00:13:02 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 2:

Alexis, by the way, I just read your thing. It says, I'm stuck in Toledo. What happened?

00:13:06 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 5:

yeah so i was planning on moving to texas after i lost my parents and ended up meeting my child's father and we have like a one-night stand and now i'm stuck here oh i love my daughter i do i do want to say i love my daughter she's the best thing ever but i i cannot say in toledo that is

00:13:25 - 00:13:38 | Speaker 6:

a that's a crazy thing to think about like you have zero plans zero relationship and then you get pregnant just because of a one night stand and the entire trajectory of changes of your life

00:13:38 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 5:

do you know the funniest thing it's crazy i was on my way and now i'm stuck and hopefully in the future though i'll be able to leave with her to go to texas the funniest thing is chelsea being

00:13:49 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 2:

an arizona girl moved to michigan and we moved in february and we had to lie to her and tell her that winter was only January, February, and March, and it was over with her. So April the 15th, we had one of the biggest snowstorms the year that we moved, and she calls me at work and says, it's snowing like crazy outside, and we said we lied. That was it. Did y'all have Google back then? Well, she kind of at that point realized she was done hook, line, and sinker in the deal. But now, guess what? Now she loves Michigan. That's right. She's in Florida right now.

00:14:24 - 00:14:49 | Speaker 1:
