All right, it is Mojo in the morning. I feel like there's a lot of people that will say that they do this just like I do this. And I kind of caught myself doing it. And when I did, I thought to myself, oh, my God, this is like weird. Um, have you ever noticed how you are so caught up in people's life by following them on social media that when you haven't seen them for years, or maybe you haven't even seen them face to face ever in your life, you know so much about them through their social media that you just start talking about everything that's happening in their life. Like you guys saw each other yesterday. So this happened to me yesterday. I ended up bumping into an old friend that I haven't seen in 10 years. And since I haven't seen them in 10 years, they have been married. They've had a kid and they've been divorced. I've never met the daughter before in my life, but I pretty much knew everything about this daughter. Matter of fact, I was talking to her and her child because their child's like almost nine or something like years old. I was talking to them like I'd be talking to Shannon or Megan having a conversation. And I even threw out there, oh, my God, I love your red Chevy Blazer that she just ended up going to get. My son just got the same exact one. And the reason why, I saw her post that she got a red Chevy Blazer and she ended up buying it recently.

00:04:25 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 2:

I know. It is kind of weird.

00:04:26 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 5:

It's so wild how social media has pretty much put us in so many people's lives. And I bet this happens to you a lot. Do you have listeners that come up to you all the time because you do a lot of social Instagram posts? Do you have a lot of people that pretty much know, like they know your mirror, right? Don't they?

00:04:42 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:04:43 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 5:

That mirror that you always take pictures with?

00:04:44 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah.

00:04:45 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 5:

Or they'll know things about your kids.

00:04:47 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 2:

But that is so, like I love when people say, I feel like I know everything about you, but I've never even, this is my first time meeting you. because i know like i appreciate that they listen to the show or you know i appreciate that they take time to watch all of this stuff on my social media. I truly am friends with a girl. Her name's Kelly and she lives in Nashville and we've been friends for since 2005. I've never met her face to face. We actually called her on the air one time about a random topic, but I call her, I FaceTime her, we DM, we text. I have never met her face to face. I quote unquote met her through an ex of mine um she dated him after i dated him and then when they broke up we kind of you know got together and that's how we met each other but we've never actually hung out before ever

00:05:38 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 4:

is it kind of awkward that you have no idea like what she truly is about like i know that you know her from facetiming but do you think that there's anything that she's hiding because i instantly go

00:05:50 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 2:

for the bad no i and we we've for years now planned like i'm gonna go to nashville and spend a weekend and got to hang out with her but would you feel comfortable enough to stay at her place yes absolutely really yeah and you've never met her face to face no oh my god but i've talked to her sister i've talked to her mom but i've never met these people but you've never talked to them

00:06:10 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 4:

face to face also no you talked to them because they were at her place or something yeah um 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 is there anybody else listening to the show right now who is a friend They call them a friend, but they've never met face-to-face. You know, is that something that you've got going on in your life right now? And would you feel comfortable enough letting them stay at your house or you staying with them? Because you really don't know what they're all about. And, I mean, listen, I'm not saying that just because you know people by seeing them face-to-face that you know what they're all about. A lot of times you get fooled all the time. But I think it's so funny that in this particular, you know, girl that I ended up running into, I think it's so funny that I do this even with, like, sports figures, television people, other radio people. Like, I will sit there and, you know, I don't know, to be openly honest with you, people think that we know all these celebrities and stuff. I'm the first one to tell you this. I don't know any celebrities. I mean, maybe like a person or two, but people automatically just assume that we have, you know, Kid Rock and Eminem and, you know, at our kid's birthday. Yeah. That Jared Goff is hanging out at my house on Thanksgiving and stuff like that. That would be cool. But I will say this. If Jared Goff was ever around me, I know enough about him to be able to start a conversation. Yeah. Oh, Jared, I might be a little stalkerish. There might be something kind of, you know, scary going on if you ever encounter me out in public.

00:07:49 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 3:

I've met mine once, but we talk every single day and I've only met him once, but I've talked to him every day for probably, man, four years now? Who is it? His name's Jacob. I love him. He's the best. And he literally texts me all day. How did you meet him?

00:08:03 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 2:

Or not meet him?

00:08:04 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 3:

Instagram. Okay.

00:08:05 - 00:08:06 | Unknown:

All right. Yeah.

00:08:06 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 3:

I met him and his husband this past summer. He actually met my dad and Ellen, and then we've never seen each other since. We just met one time, and that was it. Wow. And it was for like 20 minutes. It was just saying, I can't believe we're finally seeing each other in person, and then never did again.

00:08:25 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 4:

Were you disappointed when you saw him?

00:08:26 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 3:

Absolutely not. I'm obsessed with him. He knows it, though.

00:08:29 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 4:

Christy, what's up?

00:08:30 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 1:

Hi, Mojo. I've been friends with this dude from Omegle that I met when I was like 12. He's a year younger than me, so I call him my little brother. but now I'm getting married, and he's getting married. We haven't met before, but we're both going to each other's wedding. Oh, my gosh. So that's the first time you're going to meet? Yes, that's the first time we're going to meet, and that's the first time he's going to in person meet my fiancé, and that's the first time in person I'm going to meet his fiancé.

00:08:56 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 4:

How do your fiancé's feel about you guys being distance friends?

00:09:01 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 1:

It's not weird. We kind of grew up together when we were both going through it, you know? That's why little kids go on Omega to look for friends.

00:09:09 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 3:

What word are you saying? Omegle. What is that? It's a website, kind of like chat roulette. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, where you are set up with strangers through video cams. Oh, okay. Are you on it, Megan? I used to be, a lot. I wasn't on there looking for friends, though. I was looking for junk. Okay.

00:09:26 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 2:

Did you guys ever have a pen pal back in the day? Oh, yeah. That's what this kind of reminds me of. You become friends with this person that you never, ever end up meeting. He was in prison. No, not that.

00:09:38 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 4:

No, I'm just kidding. Remember Megan?

00:09:40 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 3:

Did you do that in school, though? No. You didn't have pen pals? I had prison pen pals.

00:09:43 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 4:

No, we did. The honest one that Shannon's talking about, we did. We had to write to a kid that was in Costa Rica that was Catholic because we went to a Catholic school and do all that stuff. Yeah. So we had that as kids. But Megan has had a prison pen pal.

00:10:00 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 9:

more than one hey constantly photos that's what i know i've really made it is when an inmate pays to send you photos would you let them stay at your house absolutely not cody what's going on cody

00:10:15 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 2:

uh yeah i uh i you know playstation 3 came out years ago and i i met this guy on there we were playing grand theft auto and then uh you know we've played grand theft auto and uh call of duty for many, many years, and we've never met. We've always talked about meeting, but

00:10:31 - 00:10:35 | Speaker 1:

we haven't. That's a big one, I bet, people who meet on, like, gamers.

00:10:36 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 6:

Do you know what? I play a lot with guys that I guess I don't even know their real name. I just know their gamer tags, and I've never... We talk all the time. Some of them listen to the show, but some of them don't, and we just talk about our everyday life. I never thought about it. Cody, you don't want to meet them face-to-face

00:10:51 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 10:

because you want to play against them, and you can't do that on a two-player game.

00:10:55 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, for sure.

00:10:57 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 10:

uh holly what's going on hello holly yeah okay is that you holly how you doing yes i'm good how

00:11:06 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 8:

are you we're doing all right what's going on i um i had a friend on facebook for about five years so i had never met until one day um she asked me if i would be interested in meeting her brother

00:11:19 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 10:

in law and now i'm married to him oh my god so you never met her face to face but you you got set up

00:11:26 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 8:

to marry her brother her brother-in-law she asked if i if i'd be interested in going on a double date with him after five years of talking to her on facebook and i decided up with that's wow

00:11:41 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 10:

did it off and got married that's by the way somebody that you really trusted you really trusted because you trusted them to set you up on a date with somebody even though you don't even and know, you know, what the air that they breathe smells like. Caitlin. Hello. This is a wild one. Caitlin has a person that she's never met that she's friends with, and they're in the same workplace.

00:12:08 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 7:

Yes, we worked together at one of the rocket companies for two years. She works in Grand Rapids, and I work for Detroit, so we have never met before. But same thing as Shannon. We always FaceTime, do, like, wine nights, and know all of each other's dirty little secrets. You're two hours away.

00:12:28 - 00:12:29 | Speaker 10:

Why don't you guys get together?

00:12:30 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 7:

I know. She's even said, like, I have a lab, and she's like, oh, my God, you've got to bring him to one of the Great Lakes, and we can hang out, we can drink wine on the beach. Like, I know, but I just have never been out that way. And then she has kids, so she can't come down here. But, yeah. It all started with our company chat. We were on the same team. and I sent a Broad City gif as a joke. I love Broad City. And she was like, oh, my God, you watch Broad City?

00:12:57 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 10:

Man, this is wild. You know what? That's kind of cool. So you have a coworker that you've never met, your best friends. You guys actually go to happy hour together, but it's over to the phone while you're sitting in your place and she's sitting in her place.

00:13:08 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 9:

Wait, they're Broad City girls. Are you looking for a third? Oh, yeah. Send me a DM.

00:13:14 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 10:

Oh, my God. That would be like the greatest star ever because you would have, think about that. You'd have Detroit for you, Grand Rapids for her, Toledo for Megan.

00:13:24 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 7:

Perfect. I'm more of an Abby, I think. Megan's more of an Alana, but. I have no idea.

00:13:30 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 10:

I never watched Broad City.

00:13:31 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 9:

That's honestly the best compliment I've ever gotten in my entire life.

00:13:34 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 10:

What's Broad City on? Where can you get it?

00:13:37 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 9:

Well, Hulu, but it was a Comedy Central show. It was on Comedy Central. Okay.

00:13:40 - 00:13:50 | Speaker 10:

All right. Whenever people throw references out from shows, I mean, I guess all I can think of is if nobody's ever watched like friends when people would sit there and go i'm a ross i'm a rachel

00:13:50 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 9:

you know right i've talked about period pants on this show before and nobody laughed or got it and i was like i know somebody watched broad city i know somebody got that reference did you get ever

00:13:59 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 10:

get her references on broad city because honestly sometimes people just don't get megan's regular

00:14:03 - 00:14:11 | Speaker 9:

references megan oh yeah so disrespectful i know you're so disrespectful it's a hard week i have

00:14:11 - 00:14:14 | Speaker 10:

Nobody, nobody heard, you know.
