00:01:21 - 00:01:27 | Speaker 6:

So Mike had the weekend with the kids, and everything went really well.

00:01:27 - 00:01:27 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:01:28 - 00:01:36 | Speaker 6:

Until now. And something happened over the weekend that Mike's not taking responsibility for.

00:01:37 - 00:02:56 | Speaker 7:

Well, because I didn't do it. If I did it, I would say, you know, I'd make a joke and then I'd say I did it. But I genuinely didn't do this. So my wife walks in the door after being gone for the weekend. We do our big hugs. We're very excited. The kids are very excited. and my son I want to say who's two years old gonna be three in in July I want to say he is maybe 10 minutes into seeing Allie runs to like a little mini fridge in the father-in-law's cottage that he has runs to a little mini fridge which only has uh booze in it and he hasn't touched like no kids touch this fridge it's it's like in a corner you can't really get to it for some reason runs over to this fridge grabs like a little tiny can of beer and i'm outside at the time and i'm walking in and runs to everybody and says daddy wants this daddy wants this daddy wants this daddy wants this and i'm like what do you know i didn't know no no i did not teach him that and so now my wife thinks that all weekend long we taught milo how to go to the mini fridge and bring us booze and i'm sure kids when they get older and you didn't no i I promise. I would take the blame on this one, but I did not do that.

00:02:56 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 2:

I love that you were about to say take the credit.

00:02:58 - 00:03:18 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. But that's not a bad thing because I'm going to tell you something. I was my dad's first remote control for the television. My dad would, you know, if he couldn't find the remote control, guess who was the person that had to flip the channels on the TV? Right, but how bad does it look if that's what I spent the weekend doing?

00:03:18 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 2:

I was Milo, my dad. Yeah, that's right. You said that. From like the time I was probably two and could walk, he would say, Shan, can you get me a favor? And that was like his code word for go to the fridge and get me a beer. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I mean, I turned out halfway normal.

00:03:38 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 6:

Mike's not taking credit for this, but a lot of parents do this where their kids become their, I don't know, their cocktail waitress. I don't know. they become the person that serves them their booze.

00:03:52 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 7:

Especially when it's like it was basically like a guy's weekend. We were just hanging out. Just a dad's weekend. He doesn't learn how to ride a scooter or how to say a sentence or do anything else. I taught him in her eyes how to grab me a beer from the fridge.

00:04:11 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 6:

I think you should blame your father-in-law because she's less likely to be angry at your father-in-law than she is to be angry at you. I didn't think of that, but that is a great idea. Because that always ends up happening where daughters always look to their dads, you know, with a higher esteem than they look to their father.

00:04:28 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 2:

You know what you need to do to make it better, Mike, is pour like a little glass of wine and have Milo just bring it to Allie today. And she'll be like, I love this. I love that you taught him this.

00:04:39 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 7:

But I didn't teach him this. I did not teach him this.

00:04:44 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 2:

I'm just saying if you're not going to get out of the lie, make it better.

00:04:47 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 7:

It's not a lie.

00:04:48 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 6:

You're still going with that whole thing?

00:04:50 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 7:

I promise you. Like, this was genuinely, I have no idea where it came from. I have no idea. I did not teach him this. I would, this isn't, and I don't, like, I know kids do it, so it's like, not like I think it's.

00:05:00 - 00:05:01 | Speaker 2:

the worst thing in the world, but that's not what

00:05:01 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 8:

the takeaway from the weekend was.

00:05:03 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 2:

I didn't teach him how to grab a beer for me.

00:05:05 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 8:

Any bad words come out of his mouth since the weekend that maybe he overheard from his father and father-in-law, his grandfather? No, I did do that with Cecily. That one was my fault. I did teach Cecily some bad words. Did she?

00:05:17 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 4:

Ba-ba-ba-ba-bitching!

00:05:20 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, 100%. What's up, Paige? How you doing?

00:05:24 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 5:

Good, how are you?

00:05:25 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 8:

Good.

00:05:26 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 5:

So, I didn't intentionally teach my son to do this um but he used to go to the fridge and grab a beer for me and my girlfriend when she would spend the night and then it kind of turned into a progression where every morning he would go to the fridge and he would bring a beer into my bedroom and he would give me a beer like for breakfast every morning with the bottle opener and everything and i'm like no mom doesn't want

00:05:50 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 8:

this right now so he didn't understand the timing of day that you wanted that beverage He was doing it all the time, thinking that mom was thirsty.

00:05:59 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 5:

Literally, he did it every morning for a good two weeks. And I'm like, no, it's really, we don't need to keep doing this. That's okay, but thank you. I always love the parent. But I mean, sometimes, you know, you wake up and they wear the dog and, you know, it doesn't always hurt.

00:06:15 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 8:

Actually, you've got to teach him how to mix a Bloody Mary. If he can make a good Bloody Mary, that's a good son.

00:06:19 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 5:

now it's actually funny because now um whenever i do have a mixed drink maybe like a margarita he goes i want a kid's margarita so i buy the pre-mix that doesn't have any alcohol in it and he drinks them out of the margarita oh that is so funny red wine is grape juice and white white grape juice yeah he loves it that's funny that you say that katie actually says

00:06:42 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 8:

what is it katie the you guys call it juice too well actually like the last caller we called it

00:06:49 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 4:

paint juice and my stepdad would say okay i'll give you a quarter if you feel my my glass is

00:06:53 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 8:

paint juice megan or katie yeah wait a second who's megan and what happened there's two of us

00:07:01 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 4:

on the phone there's two of us on the phone oh really hi megan yeah there was another caller

00:07:07 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 8:

oh okay sorry oh okay all right that's right um i always love when when a parents will uh a parent And it's usually dad and, you know, obviously the last caller's case, it was mom, that will teach their kids something. But then they'll, I never did this. I never, I have no idea how he got this thing. I promise I did it. But yet, it was the off-limits refrigerator that Milo is never to touch. But for some reason, guess who's touching it now? What's up, Kennedy?

00:07:41 - 00:08:13 | Speaker 6:

Hey, I just want to say I love you guys. Oh, we love you this morning. Love you too. Thank you. But my nephew actually kind of learned from going up to the beach house in the summer to grab my mom a C beer, which is Corona. And he learned how to even open up the bottle with a bottle opener. And she also kind of taught him to grab her friend a M beer, which is a Michelol Ultra beer. Oh, yeah. So now he knows to grab two beers for them every time we go out on the porch. He's learning his letters.

00:08:14 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 8:

Yep, exactly. I never saw this on Sesame Street, though. Did you guys ever see that on Sesame Street? Thank you for the call.

00:08:22 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 2:
