All right, Mojo on the morning show. So I want to get to a couple of things that happened over the weekend. So Mike is a sucker for this. And I think that you would be the type of person, Mike, that remember when in the malls they used to have the person that would do surveys and say, Hi, can I stop you to do a survey? They had a clipboard and they would do that. Do you remember that at all? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you were the guy that stopped for them, weren't you?

00:02:17 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 7:

Well, I just wanted to know what the first question was. And then if the question was interesting, then I might stay for the second question. And then they usually would say, well, I can get you registered to win this quad. And I would go, okay, yeah, I'm in. Sign me up, 100%. Because I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff. I am. I always think I'm going to win. I always think that I always want whatever you're selling, especially if you're selling something or a child is selling something for a sports team. That, 100%, you could get me to buy literally anything. You said, I want you to buy this tiny little statue of a gnome. It's made out of crystal, but it's for my sports team. I would go, okay, I don't need a gnome, but sure, I'll buy it, whatever.

00:02:58 - 00:03:01 | Speaker 3:

It just tugs on those heartstrings. Every single time.

00:03:01 - 00:03:05 | Speaker 6:

Every single time. But why a sports team? Explain that to me. Were you a kid that was on a sports team?

00:03:06 - 00:03:14 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, I used to have that. When I played t-ball as a kid, I used to have to sell those little candy bars, those dollar candy bars. Oh, wait a second. Was it the world's famous chocolate, or what was it called? I think so, yeah.

00:03:14 - 00:03:16 | Speaker 6:

It was in a box. Which, by the way, it was not gray chocolate.

00:03:16 - 00:03:20 | Speaker 7:

No, I disagree. I think they're so good. Do you like those chocolates? What are you talking about?

00:03:20 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 6:

It was the box that you would break in half and carry as, like, it had a handle on it. And they were white packaging. And on the back, did yours on the back have, like, a coupon from McDonald's on it?

00:03:30 - 00:03:33 | Speaker 7:

Yes. Yeah. And every wrapper had something on it, didn't it?

00:03:34 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 3:

They had, like, some kind of a deal. I feel like I missed out on this in my childhood. Did you not play sports? Did I play sports? Okay. No. I didn't play sports. But I just remember the boxes of candy that, like, people would sell that were, like, the Hershey's or the Reese's or, like, the M&M's. No, no, no, no.

00:03:51 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 7:

This was, like, the generic chocolate. I don't even know if it was a brand.

00:03:55 - 00:04:01 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, yeah, it was pretty good. It was called World's Famous Chocolate, but you never knew where the World's Famous Chocolate came from.

00:04:01 - 00:04:01 | Speaker 7:

Uh-uh.

00:04:01 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. So somebody came to sell you some stuff this weekend. What were they selling?

00:04:06 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, so we're trying to be a little tight with money right now. and so this little girl came to our house and was selling tropical smoothie coupons and i forget what she said what sport she even said she played uh but she said it's because she did the spiel really fast so it was for some jenison team or whatever and i'm like oh i have cash in my pocket and i'm such a sucker for this but i know if my wife sees me pull out this money she's gonna go mike she's gonna give me that look and so i snuck and i bought a bunch of coupons and she doesn't know that yet but well she'll she will now but what did it end up costing you um 50 books smart decision you should have saw the look on her face when i bought them

00:04:46 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 6:

and you bought two books and you remember when people would turn you down do you remember actually having people be like now and you're or give you like the slam the the screen door in your face

00:04:56 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

oh the second i mean the second you looked like you were about to sell something they

00:05:00 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 3:

wouldn't even open the door they would go no i don't want it they would talk through the glass

00:05:03 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 4:

i don't want anything thank you uh i'm showing shannon the world's famous world's finest chocolate

00:05:09 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 5:

i do actually remember that now i think awful yeah no there were different there were different like they had almonds in them well they were like the knockoffs of like you know the nestle crunch

00:05:20 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 6:

and didn't they have like a mr good bar they had a caramel filled one oh it was so good i do remember

00:05:26 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 4:

though yeah um by the way coupon books are the worst investment ever and i hate to do this because i know that there are some sports teams that are probably selling those right now anytime you get them you never have them with you when you go to a place and and the coupon is never something that you necessarily want like it's never something i was like okay get 20 off of and it's like the prune juice uh one you know it's like it's like one that you'd never order ever in your life at the smoothie store, or the only places that were left over were places that ended up closing. That was the other one, too. Businesses closed because they put their answers into a coupon book, and that was the thing. So you now have this. When do you think you will go use it? Probably never.

00:06:09 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 3:

Honestly, I might use it once and think it's a great idea, but you can only use one at a time, so it's like a dollar off or something. But I couldn't say no. She was so nice. And her parents were in the driveway in the car. And I was like, I know she's going to have to go back and tell mom and dad, like, yeah. Like, I just sold 50 bucks worth of coupons, that sucker. And I was like, oh, sure. Why not?

00:06:30 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 4:

Look at a Mater day. Look at the texters coming in here this morning, differing with my opinion of that chocolate. They're saying that Megan's right. The chocolate is great. That world's finest chocolate is great.

00:06:41 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 6:

The caramel ones, man.

00:06:42 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 4:

The caramel ones were good.

00:06:43 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 6:

If there was a kid that walked by right now, I would literally go to an ATM and get cash for him. Like, I love those girls. There you go.

00:06:50 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 4:

Hit up Megan in the DMs. If you know where the Kiss Studios are, kids, knock on that window. It will scare the crap out of her.

00:06:59 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 5:

Did any of you guys sell wrapping paper?

00:07:01 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 4:

Oh.

00:07:01 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 5:

I used to sell wrapping paper. It was like my favorite thing ever. I would go door to door. I mean, I was the best wrapping paper salesperson on Grossio, I think.

00:07:11 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 4:

The wrapping paper was a big one. And my kids sold those. And then the Little Caesars pizza boxes were also a big one, too, where the kids wanted to sell Little Caesars pizza boxes.

00:07:23 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, the pizza. Yeah, there were kits. I think I have one of those in my freezer.

00:07:27 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 4:

I think we do, too, but it's from like 30 years. No, it's probably from like two years. But actually, those were the thing when Chelsea and I would go out on a date night and we would get a babysitter. Those were the things that we would end up making them was those Little Caesars pizza kits. And I will remember this. I remember the boys going door to door. We'd just tell them, go door to door. And we would always tell them which houses to go to because there were homes of people that we would buy from in our neighborhood when their kids were selling stuff. And these people, these rat bastards that lived in the woodlands, they wouldn't open the door. Got to return the paper. Oh, not home. I said to Joey one time, I said, say, I can see you in there. I know you're there. I know that you're looking at me. What's going on, Sarah? It's Mojo in the Morning.

00:08:15 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 6:

No, I was just thinking, you know, all those kids are going to talk in the neighborhood, and Mike's house is just going to be a target.

00:08:20 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my gosh. They got sucker written all over them, right?

00:08:24 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 1:

Absolutely. It's life.

00:08:26 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 4:

It's life. It was so unnecessary. I loved it. Yeah, Allie's going to be like, why are there so many kids coming to our house lately?

00:08:37 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 3:

A line of kids.

00:08:38 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 4:

I bet you that they already have gone on to some kind of a social media platform like a Yelp for houses that you go to. What's going on, Matt?

00:08:47 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 1:

You cannot forget about the Boy Scout popcorn.

00:08:50 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

00:08:52 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 1:

I grew up, I was a Boy Scout myself, and I grew up with my mom being the popcorn mom, and it was great. We still have some of it sitting in our basement 15 years later.

00:09:02 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 4:

So the popcorn was the deal maker. That was the real deal.

00:09:06 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 1:

Oh, it sure was. Oh, it sure was. That stuff was excellent. Yeah.

00:09:09 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 4:

You know what? It's funny. I was never a big popcorn fan, I'll be honest with you. I thought it was just bland. The Girl Scout cookies, though, was the best.

00:09:15 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:09:16 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 1:

It was. Oh, yeah.

00:09:17 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 5:

I want the little boy, the little Augustus Gloop boy in my neighborhood to sell me more wood. I'm running real low. So if you know him, tell him to come back. No, that's honest to God what he looked like.

00:09:30 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 4:

Chelsea says I'm a sucker for anybody's lemonade stands because I know that majority of those kids put so much sugar in them. It's, you know, it's so good. It just tastes delicious.
