Yeah, I was hanging out with some friends over the weekend. Chad and his husband, Kevin, and I were talking, and actually, this is so weird. I've known them for forever. I've known Chad since I was 16. I worked with him at my first job. but his husband and I have known each other for years and I didn't have his phone number saved in my phone so as I was typing in his number I put in Kevin and I started putting in Chad's last name and he goes that's not my last name and I went wait I thought you took his last no no we didn't take each other's last name I still have my original name and I had no idea and then I started thinking about it my good friend Katie got married what a year or two ago she still has her maiden name i just feel like more and more people aren't changing their names when they get married yeah and i didn't know is this like a deal breaker for guys because for me i never want to change my name first of all i have a great name it is fantastic four letters it's easy everybody can pronounce it it's mick m-i-c-k so easy but i can't hyphenate it in the future either so say i marry like smith oh yeah i can't do mick smith because everybody's gonna think it's mc smith yeah so i was just going to keep my maiden name for forever you know it's

weird i wanted to ask this question of our friends tim and bill and find out why it is that tim took bill's name i've always wanted to know that like how do you decide well if you are going to change

names i asked the guys if they argued over it and they said no we were just too lazy to do the paperwork and i love that i was like i get that i relate do you guys think when shannon comes back

from this engagement weekend that we all think that she's engaged, right? We all kind of have this. She's been hiding her hand.

Now I think she's messing with us and she's not engaged.

She still has legally her married name. Do you think that she'll switch over to Wesley's name?

I don't know. I was always surprised she didn't go back to her maiden name, but then it also made sense because she said the kids.

Yeah, when you have kids, it's a different story, I guess.

Yeah? I don't know. I don't know. I wouldn't want to. I like F them babies. I don't need the same name as them. They still came from me. They're still my blood. I don't need to have the same name as them.

Megan, when you and I get married, you don't take my name. We ain't getting married. I don't at all, but we're never getting married. And by the way, this is when you, myself, and Chelsea get married and you become one of our sister wives, right?

Oh, I'd marry Chelsea and take her name, but I would not marry her and take her name.

It's like I could care less if someone would take my name or not, but I think at the same time, I admire women who do it because- Getting word from a tip that there is a crime. Oh, hold on a second.

breaking news i know i always admire that because there's so much work involved in changing a name it takes like years to get that all changed in all the legal documents state and the government the billing all that stuff i'm like man i just really love that person um mojo in the morning

show what's going on emily hey mojo i love you guys anyway i love you too thank you and um i've been married for over 40 years um and um i remember thinking about planning my wedding and i thought you know what i'm just not going to change my name it's very european my husband's name's almost like smith it's very common and i just said to him hey you know what i'm not thinking of marrying i'm going to change my name he goes yeah no big deal i'm marrying you not your name or whatever it was no big deal so i get married and all these people were men mostly married men like if that was me i would never have married you oh that would never work in our relationship everybody's got something to say about it it was very interesting because it was 40 years ago and this is for you um megan is that

But even then, I thought every girl is going to change, not going to change their name. They're not going to keep their name. And then all of a sudden, it was kind of a trend that they would change their name. I don't know if they thought it was like kind of old-fashioned and more romantic.

See, I would have thought that you 40 years ago not changing your name would have been a complete unicorn. That there wouldn't be a lot of people. You know what?

It was no different than today. I'm not kidding.

That's wild. See, I always thought that it was different. Because now it might still raise an eyebrow, but it seems like a few decades ago that would raise a real stink with a different generation. I actually thought that it was interesting how much Chelsea was excited to change my name until I realized it was just to move up in the alphabet. She just wanted the ability to be able to be, you know, in the seas.

I kind of understand if you've got like a complicated last name, if you want to simplify it. I totally get that. But even with kids, like, if I had kids, which I don't think I will, middle names could be my maiden name. I think that's how I keep the name going.

Megan, you're breaking my heart. I've been waiting to marry either you or Ellen for some time now. Either one. My last name is Lube, and I think we have to hyphenate.

Oh, wow. Let me tell you right now, I would definitely hyphenate my name to McLube for you. Are you kidding me?

Hi. Yeah, so I laughed a little bit when you guys made the comment of, oh, it takes years and this and that. So that was kind of my friend, her excuse for not getting her name changed once she got married. because she held off for, like, two years. And she actually finally went down and just did it to surprise her spouse. It took, like, 15 minutes. It was easier than being married, she said. So I think it's actually an easy process.

But that's a great excuse. Don't say that because there's some people probably listening right now.

Well, that paperwork takes 15 minutes, but changing all of the accounts is what takes forever.

you whatever you want oh that's beautiful what's going on uh so anyway i was listening to this and i just had to call in so my husband and i are both a second marriage with each other we're coming up on our 18th wedding anniversary on the fifth or the fourth i'm sorry and um his first wife got remarried after him and got divorced and then called and asked us if she could take my husband's last name back and we said absolutely they've got two children together and we co-parented beautifully together for all this time and yeah come on back on board see i like that she changed

her name but then she wanted to change it back huh yeah she changed it back to my husband's last name are you sure that she's not on the run and there's something we should know i'm quite positive i could take her i could totally take her uh i knew a radio person i won't say who it is but there's a radio person that worked here in town was a legendary radio person who legally changed their name to the radio name that, because they didn't want to go out in restaurants and hand their credit card off and it not be their radio name. So they legally changed their name. And somebody asked me, would you ever do that? And I said, if I did that, my dad would kill me. Yeah. If I got rid of it. Absolutely. Thank you for the,
