Yeah, he's graduating from Lutheran High North Macomb. So we're going to that on Sunday. I think it's at Macomb Community College, the graduation ceremony.

Which is a big place to have it because we've got a lot of grads, a lot of parents, grandparents, going to all be there.

Yeah. Stepmoms? Yeah, yep.

Are the kids going too?

Yes. So Lucy and Smith are going. And I've got to figure this out because I heard a rumor. I asked Kieran, how long is this thing going to be? Just so I can kind of plan. And then we have dinner reservations afterwards, right? Because we're going to take him out for a dinner with everybody from his family, his mom, his stepdad, grandma, grandpa. And so I'm like, how long is this ceremony going to be? And he said, I don't know. I heard it's like three hours. Now, he could be wrong. Three hours? I hope he's wrong. Because three hours is a very long time. But he said there's a church service because obviously it's a religious school.

Okay, yeah.

So there's a church service, and then there's the graduation actual ceremony. And I'm thinking, I don't even know if I'm going to be able to sit there for three hours, let alone Lucy and Smith. And so I'm thinking to myself, would it be bad if I brought them their iPads? Oh, boy. So during this ceremony, they could just watch or play games on silent mode and not fidget and disrupt everybody around them. And I told Wes, I go, look, I won't let them have it for the church part, obviously. But for the rest of it, when they're calling names and doing the speeches and all that stuff, what am I going to do? I'll be honest. My kids are well-behaved, but I don't think they're going to sit there for three hours.

Your kids are too old for iPads. No, they're not. They don't have phones. No, but your kid's too old to be sitting there with that.

to you've got a middle schooler now and then you have smith is what uh is he eight or nine he turns eight next like i think that i think ipads and things like that are for like three to five year

olds i think that uh all right let me tell you this when we go to church on sunday if they don't go to the kids area yeah and they want to sit in like the adult church is what they call it They are fidgeting like mad, and that's only 50 minutes.

I don't know. I think it looks like you're the tech parent that gives kids. I could give a damn.

You had three boys. I am the tech parent. What did you do around their ages?

Well, let me tell you that Joe, Jacob, and Luke all graduated from Notre Dame Prep, and they had also a very long service. They did mass right beforehand, and then they did the service after. I don't know if it was necessarily three hours, but it was definitely more than a couple hours. It was like two-something, because mass was at least 45 minutes or 50 minutes. the um luke was young when joe graduated because luke and joe are 10 years apart and uh i think that luke at that age was uh was much littler than uh than even smith

what'd you do and i think honestly did you make him go you probably put him with a babysitter

no he was there for his brother they had to all be there first off it was it's great that you guys can get that many tickets because because it's at macomb that's probably why they did theirs at their school and you only could get I think four tickets well we're still we're actually still

short one so I said Smith sitting on my lap the question is what it how did they behave you

skirted around the whole thing Luke I don't think I don't I don't think we gave Luke anything I

don't even remember I think Luke had to pay it was he was so bad he blocked it out you know you

um i was just letting you guys know that um lat or this past weekend um my oldest daughter graduated and it was like the first ceremony i had been to in since i graduated probably and um i brought my 12 year old and and twins that were nine two of them did all right but my nine-year-old son uh he was and he was not good the entire time and it was like the graduating class was probably like 150 kids and so i don't know how big this school is but um but our ceremony lasted two hours okay so what did what did he do and i would not have did you bring anything for No, and that was what I was going to suggest, like, even though, like, Smith is, like, older, but also, like, I don't necessarily think it's a bad idea, as long as there's no sound, because it is true that the fidgeting will be bad. More disruptive. And my son was definitely, like, he just talks incessantly, and he just was very disruptive. And if it wasn't his own sister, he would not have stayed.

I have listened for years and years, and I feel like if we called Chelsea, She would probably say Mojo was very annoying at graduation. He would not sit still.
