All right, it is Mojo in the morning show. Is it a deal breaker, Megan? By the way, what dating app are we talking?

00:01:24 - 00:01:24 | Speaker 5:

Hinge.

00:01:24 - 00:01:25 | Speaker 6:

A little hinge.

00:01:26 - 00:02:32 | Speaker 5:

Love your hinge. Is that all you do? Yeah. I'm on the other ones, but I don't like any of them, to be honest. But even on hinge, I have my major issues. But something happened for the first time that I thought was really interesting. I'd never experienced this before. So I had swiped right on somebody. I feel like swipe right is just the general term. You don't actually do that on hinge. But I had tried to match with somebody. and before it sent me to like the chat portion like hey you both agreed to do this it said so and so who I connected with wanted to let you know something before you move on to the next step and I was like that's kind of weird is that normal I've never experienced this before and it said this might be a deal breaker for you but I wanted to let you know that I still live with my mom and it had like two little buttons that was like continue to chat or like choose to ignore, I guess. I can't remember how it was phrased, but it was, you can either continue on and match or unmatch with said person, and they wouldn't know that you've matched with them yet. So it was a way for you to, like, back out last minute.

00:02:33 - 00:02:38 | Speaker 6:

And what was it again that you said that they lived with their mom? Is that a deal breaker for you? For me, personally,

00:02:39 - 00:02:44 | Speaker 5:

yes, absolutely. I think at this point in my life, if you're still living with mom, you're way too young for me to date.

00:02:45 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 7:

What if it's, like, a certain reason, though?

00:02:47 - 00:03:11 | Speaker 5:

They actually said the reason. it was super personal um it was very very valid i thought it was very honorable why they lived at home and i was not interested in getting involved are they taking care of mom or something like oh they okay yeah well then i kind of absolutely or is that their excuse i don't know yeah but either way that's not something i'm looking to get wrapped up in right now okay so it's like somebody having

00:03:11 - 00:03:27 | Speaker 6:

kids like no thanks all right would you here's a question is it is it a deal breaker if somebody lives with their family, lives with their parents, or lives with mom. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Should they put that in their profile, or should you find out about that later? No. Or do you appreciate their honesty?

00:03:27 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 5:

I really appreciated you telling me up front.

00:03:30 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 6:

I was going to say that. Actually, it's very honest.

00:03:32 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. I mean, they don't want to waste your time. They don't want their time wasted either. Yeah. That's what it is. Yep. Because if I spend some money, we go out to eat, and then I tell you, and you like, to make his words, no thanks. You're just wasting my time.

00:03:44 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. That is, by the way, pretty unbelievable that they would have that in their profile, basically.

00:03:51 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 5:

He probably got home before. I don't know if you said credit for doing it. It's a him, right?

00:03:57 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 6:

No. It's a her. It was. Really?

00:03:59 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 7:

She probably got home before. She probably was on a date. Things was clicking. They're like, can I go back to your crib? She's like, my mom's home.

00:04:06 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 5:

That was my deal breaker. My place always has to be clean. There can't be one time where I'm running late to a date and I can just go to your place afterwards. No. Oh, you are not going to halfway live with me because we are never able to go to your place. I dated somebody who lived with his mom before, and it was, oh, my God, so annoying.

00:04:25 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:04:26 - 00:04:35 | Speaker 5:

Because I was going to say, that's really, really honorable of her, but your point that you just made, I'm like, oh, yeah. I don't know. I haven't thought about it that way.

00:04:36 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 4:

Hello.

00:04:37 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 6:

Is it a deal breaker?

00:04:38 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

so i actually have an older brother who uses that as an excuse he actually lives at home with my mother because he can't afford rent and can't like hold a job but every time i meet these new girls they are like oh it's so honorable that your brother is like taking care of his mom and i'm like whoa whoa what's going on

00:05:00 - 00:05:01 | Speaker 2:

Do you tell them?

00:05:02 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 5:

No, I try to stay out of it as much as possible.

00:05:06 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 6:

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Good sister. Anything for my brother. I love that.

00:05:13 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. I mean, they obviously catch on because he's still on these dating apps after a while.

00:05:19 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 3:

I love that, though. It's kind of like telling them that your grandma died while you didn't do your homework, but that's the modern way of doing it in dating. I mean, I'm taking care of a sick loved one. A lot of people saying deal breaker. Look at this. 248 deal breaker. Megan, move on. 313 deal breaker. You're always going to have to be the person that's going to be picking them up. Ashley, what's going on? Hi.

00:05:48 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Hey. No, I don't think it's a deal breaker. Life is expensive.

00:05:54 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I totally get that. I absolutely get that. But if it's that expensive, then we can't afford to date each other. Yeah.

00:06:04 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 5:

I get it. I get it.

00:06:06 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 3:

So are you living at home? Because I don't want to, before I say this next comment.

00:06:12 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 5:

You're okay. I live with my sister.

00:06:14 - 00:06:16 | Speaker 3:

Okay. Well, then I'm not going to say it. We'll say it later. Thank you.

00:06:16 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 5:

I was going to say something.

00:06:20 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, life is expensive. Life is expensive. But you're spending money on something else. Or you don't have enough.

00:06:25 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 2:

you don't you didn't find that good job yet or when i lived with my brother i always thought this is not the time for me to date like until i have my own space don't date until you have

00:06:35 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 4:

your own place right tina what's up right so i live with my mom and i still think it's a deal

00:06:42 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 2:

breaker thank you so are you very upfront are you upfront with people that you meet like this is my situation and

00:06:52 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 4:

take it or leave it. Yeah, I don't even look to meet people. Okay. I don't even look to meet people because I just feel like I have other things to worry about. Have you ever

00:07:01 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 3:

met somebody and had to sneak them in the house without mom noticing?

00:07:06 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 4:

No, because second part to it, I have kids that I roommate with, so we're all in the same room, so.

00:07:13 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 3:

Oh, jeez. Wow. There's some complicated situations in that relationship. What's up, Hannah.

00:07:23 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 5:

Hi, good morning. I'm with Megan that it is a deal breaker, but I'm also willing to hear them out.

00:07:31 - 00:07:31 | Unknown:

Okay.

00:07:31 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 5:

So I lived in Florida, and then I moved back to Michigan, and I was with my parents for a year just to save up before I could move on my own. So obviously I live on my own now, but my brother lives with my parents because he just moved back from Maryland. so like in cases like that i guess i can sympathize i like that you'll at least go out

00:07:53 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 3:

with them and then listen to what their reasoning is to everything that actually might not be a bad idea though in this case because you may find out that this person that uh you're you know talking about that lives with their mom might be the type of person that could take care of you later in life think about that if they can take care of their mom and be good to them they're probably a good person think of all the douche bags that are out there what if it's positioned differently

00:08:15 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 6:

Now, not saying this is just a line to get you in. But what if he said he doesn't say I live with my mom, but he says my mom lives with me. Oh, there you go. That's what they should have done.

00:08:25 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 2:

I don't know why I find that to be an even bigger red flag. That's called deceptiveness.

00:08:31 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 6:

That's why I started by saying you're not saying it to be facetious. But say that's the reality, though. Like, say your mom had to move back in. Is that also the deal breaker? It's not that you don't have enough money. it's not that you're like a little boy or a girl and you're not mature enough and all of that

00:08:45 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 2:

that's worse that's worse because you're going to put mom in front of it which mom should be taken care of I've only dated severe mama's boy so my perspective is coming from a place of terrible mother-in-laws and so for me like if you're willing to give her that space and like be in your life which you should do by the way I think that's the right thing I just don't want to be involved in that because it's going to lead to bad things for me

00:09:11 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 3:

is there such thing as a mama's girl because you said this was a girl so mama's boys now it's nice to hear that there's mama's boys and mama's girls what's going on? initial C, your voice disguised what's up?

00:09:27 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Hi, I just wanted to talk about what Megan is saying, not wanting to date young men or men at whatever the age that live at home with their mom well, my son lives with me but not because I he needs me i actually need him a little bit to help me out he's more he has a job that pays almost a hundred thousand dollars a year okay uh yeah so so he's making say he wouldn't date my son he's like totally a nice guy he's a catch but he's helping

00:10:00 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 4:

you out that's how about interview mom bring mom on the first date i agree with you that there's i think you have to interview i'm i'm gonna go with that as my take on this and a texter brought up something interesting a texter here hold on let me find it again because i i saw it just a second ago when my phone rang oh texter here said didn't megan live with her dad for a period of time and

00:10:20 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 3:

i didn't live with people or date people when i did it and i totally did it to i moved home to save up enough money to buy a house i was so proud that i did it and i bought that house and then i was interested in dating again and then my brother needed a place to live and he moved in with me and I thought this isn't conducive to a dating experience and I wasn't looking to date during that time and then I got an apartment on my own and then I was like I'm interested in dating again I think I think these dating periods in your life are fluid and again I don't think it's wrong to take care of your parents that was never the message here I just think that there are different priorities in life and in that one I'm not interested in in being involved in somebody who's in that stage of life.

00:11:00 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 4:

That mom, by the way, who's $100,000 a year son, who's living with her, how much money is that kid having in a... How expensive is mom?

00:11:08 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 3:

Right, right, right.

00:11:09 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 4:

Mom better be asking for some rent.

00:11:11 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 6:

conditions 21 plus this is the bishop statement at bishop state community college we want you to hear what our students educators and business leaders have to say i would say bishop state's

00:12:05 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 2:

like a home for people it may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm your roommate you have a rec center but it's still a place you can go meet new people classmates people in the hallway make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that it's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be that you don't want to be with this program i learned networking a lot we've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds dealing with autocad or need 3d modeling so really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful i don't come from a wealthy family so four years we're kind of not out the picture but less probable for me to go to bishop state with my scholarship it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for

00:12:47 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 1:

the same 12 credits I would go for a four year. Ready to make your own bishop statement? Visit bishop.edu today and start building your tomorrow at Bishop State Community College.
