We're doing the morning show. So Mike feels like he's being punked. Why is that, and who is it that you think is punking you?

00:01:22 - 00:01:58 | Speaker 9:

Well, so I moved into a newer neighborhood, or a new neighborhood a couple years ago, but I'm still kind of new to it. And a little background is I always lived in an apartment or just not like the greatest of neighborhoods. So this is like a nicer neighborhood in Hudsonville. So this is all brand new stuff to me. And so when I moved in the first year, the neighbor came up and they start talking to you or whatever. And I'm like, how are you doing? You know, your lawn looks great. We start talking about random stuff. And he's like, yeah, yeah, thanks. If you ever need to use my vacuum to vacuum your lawn, go ahead. And I went, okay, I see what's... And I don't know if neighborhood pranks, like, if that's a rite of passage.

00:01:59 - 00:02:07 | Speaker 8:

Wait, stop for saying. If you want to use my vacuum to vacuum your lawn, who vacuums a lawn?

00:02:07 - 00:02:27 | Speaker 9:

I don't. So I thought he was messing with me. So I was like, all right, man. I see. Like, I just kind of laughed and said, yeah, okay, okay. And then I assumed he was like, it's a rite of passage. They just mess with you when you, you know, it's a new guy in the neighborhood. Like, you're just pranking me. And he would give me a vacuum and I would look stupid trying to vacuum my lawn. Have you ever seen him vacuuming his lawn then?

00:02:28 - 00:02:28 | Speaker 4:

Mm-mm.

00:02:28 - 00:02:30 | Speaker 8:

No, but he offered it again the other day.

00:02:30 - 00:02:32 | Speaker 4:

What do you vacuum, like leaves?

00:02:32 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 8:

I have no idea. I didn't know it was a thing. That's interesting that he would ask you if you want to borrow it, but you've never seen him use it.

00:02:40 - 00:03:10 | Speaker 9:

Uh-uh. I have no idea. Like, he was getting his stuff. I think I was unloading. The first year, I was unloading my lawnmower, and he's like, if you need any help, you know, because there was, like, sticks and stuff, because the guy who moved out before me just didn't take care of the lawn right away. So I was going in and taking care of everything. So he offered that right away, and he offered some other things too. But I thought he was messing with me until he did it again. And then I still haven't seen him use any sort of, like, a shop vac or anything. I don't even know what you would use to vacuum your lawn.

00:03:11 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 8:

Shannon, didn't you at one point have a neighbor that had, like, some weird thing that he would do?

00:03:15 - 00:03:16 | Speaker 4:

Vacuum? It wasn't.

00:03:16 - 00:03:17 | Speaker 8:

Was it vacuum?

00:03:17 - 00:03:26 | Speaker 4:

Well, he vacuumed his bedsheets. He still does this, and he's not a neighbor. It's somebody that I know, and I will not say his name. He vacuums his bed sheets every single night Before he gets into bed

00:03:26 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 8:

I'm sorry I thought it was somebody that did something With their lawn that you actually visually saw

00:03:31 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 4:

No I mean I'm trying to think If there's another story

00:03:34 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 8:

So this guy actually vacuums his bed sheets

00:03:37 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 4:

So I'm trying to think about this Mike Because I have that little mini leaf blower That I use but really Now Smith has laid claim on it And it has a Vacuum function On it or I can, like, reverse it. Do you know what I mean? And there's a bag that comes with it. But even that, I'm like, what do I use this for?

00:03:57 - 00:03:58 | Speaker 9:

Yeah, are you vacuuming up trash out of the yard?

00:03:58 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 4:

I don't, yeah, I don't know.

00:04:01 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 8:

I watch, you know, people who are very good with their lawns. We have a very good friend of ours, Steve, who is amazing with his lawn. Like, his lawn is cleaner than my living room is. Like, it's so perfectly manicured. It looks like the grass at Comerica Park where the Tigers play. But I think he just goes through and cuts it but bags it, like he bags it in his lawnmower. What's up, Jake?

00:04:31 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, my parents' neighbor does that in their neighborhood. It's been a few years since I've seen her do it. But, yeah, I was coming home from high school, and she was just out there with a vacuum, like straight up.

00:04:43 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 9:

Actual vacuum?

00:04:43 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 4:

Okay, so I'm looking this up. You can buy one at Lowe's, Home Depot, if this is an actual thing.

00:04:50 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, no, this is just like a shop vac, though. Not even like a vacuum vacuum. Right. Not even special, just like a shop vac. It was just like plain Jane, just a vacuum.

00:04:57 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 4:

Okay. I mean, that's kind of what these look like.

00:05:00 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, it was wild. How good does her lawn look?

00:05:04 - 00:05:06 | Speaker 3:

It looks like any other lawn.

00:05:07 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 6:

Really? So you can't even tell that it's been vacuumed?

00:05:10 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 3:

No, no idea.

00:05:11 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 6:

Spends all the time doing it.

00:05:14 - 00:05:15 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I have no idea.

00:05:15 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. What's going on, Frank?

00:05:19 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 2:

Hi, how you doing, guys? Long-time listener, first-time caller.

00:05:23 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 5:

Hey, Frank.

00:05:25 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 2:

Hi. Hi. I think what the gentleman is talking about is a blower vac. You can either blow the leaves or vac them up, and they'll mulch your leaves so you can make it easier to put them in a bag. I think that's what he's talking about.

00:05:40 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 6:

So when you say gentleman, you're talking about Mike because he's no gentleman and a scholar.

00:05:47 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 2:

Well, I'm not going to make a comment on that. He seems to be a pretty great guy. But, no, I'm talking about his neighbor. I can't see him out there With a Hoover vacuum trying to vacuum up his lawn That would be ridiculous

00:05:58 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 7:

He was messing with me It's a real thing Yeah

00:06:04 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 2:

It quite possibly could be a real thing But I know him to be a vacuum Blower vac Which is like Sometimes they have the backpacks So they'll have little blowers You can either blow the leaves Or you can mulch them up It'll suck the leaves up into the same blower, and it'll reduce the amount of leaves that you have to put into a bag.

00:06:28 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 6:

Thank you, Frank, for listening. Take care of yourself.

00:06:31 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 1:

I feel comforted by the leaves. Thank you. I appreciate it, Mojo. I know. I just want to get your number and ask you questions when I need advice.

00:06:39 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 6:

Miles, what's up? Hey, how you doing? Good. What's going on?

00:06:45 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 4:

There actually is a vacuum. It goes on, like, right on lawnmowers. So after you, you know, you're mowing everything up and it makes your pile, it goes through and it sucks it up. It puts it in a big container and then you go and dump it in like a mulch pile.

00:06:57 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 6:

Oh, so maybe Mike's neighbor has been doing it, but Mike thinks he's just cutting his grass, but he's actually picking it up.

00:07:02 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, he's picking it up so it doesn't leave, you know, like the grass lines and whatnot. Yep.

00:07:07 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 6:

Very cool.

00:07:08 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 7:

That's why his lawn looks great and mine looks like crap.

00:07:10 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 6:

That's the thing, you know. Is this bad to say if you go out on a vacation, like you're going away for a week, right? is it you know i know you have people that will watch your house is it bad to ask a neighbor to cut your lawn has anybody ever done that before like where you've said all right i'm you know we're going away on a summer family vacation mike's going away is there somebody by the way that would you know could you imagine mike you should ask that guy i would 100 he asked me to

00:07:37 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 7:

watch his house uh like two months ago and i had no idea what i was doing i had no idea what what the rules are on that i saw somebody pull into his driveway and i'm like do i call the cops do

00:07:48 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 6:

i call him what do i do i have no idea this is all brand new information or brand new stuff to me did you go outside and like pretend like you're like neighborhood watch or paul blart

00:07:56 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 7:

mall cop or something or i walked to the uh the mailbox and i just kind of looked it just kind of peeked over i think it was his kids and i think they were just getting something out of the garage at least i hope otherwise he was robbed and i have no idea you seem like you'd be the person

00:08:10 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 6:

that would be bad to have watching the house because you're, I don't know, you're very good at some things, but some things you kind of like, you know, kind of like pass you by a little bit.

00:08:21 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 1:

You second guess yourself a lot.

00:08:23 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 6:

Okay. All right. That's fair. I mean, I don't know. So did you go and like walk through, do house walkthroughs or anything like that? For the neighborhood? Did he give you the key to the house to go in?

00:08:33 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 7:

No, he just said, hey, if you see anything weird, just let me know. Again, I'm new to the neighborhood, So I think he gave me a little bit of, a little bit. He trusted me a little bit, but I don't think he fully trusted me. What if he was testing you?

00:08:45 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 6:

He could have been. Testing to make sure that you were doing a good job by having people come and drive through the driveway.

00:08:51 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 7:

Then I failed miserably because I never called anybody. I didn't say anything to them. I assumed it was his kids. I've seen the car before after that, but at the time I didn't know who it was. So it probably could have been something bad. I wouldn't have known. Tyler Reddick here from 2311 Racing.
