This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

Allen Lee, my major is drafting and design. In high school, I did it since my sophomore year, and I kind of wanted to continue it. It was the only thing I was good at. I didn't want to move to a four-year. I don't think I was mentally prepared. I found Bishop State. They had the program. I met a few people there. I ended up enrolling. The instructor, first I met him, I told him about my background. He said, okay, great, you know about this. He built me straight to work. He didn't let me have any leeway. He pushed me to my limits. So I think that made me choose drafting design at Bishop State and stuck with it. The sport's amazing. All my instructors just want to see me succeed. They want to push me to my limit. They want to see me be the best I can be, get a job, just be as successful as I can be. And I really appreciate all of them. With my degree, as of right now, my plan is to work for the city of Mobile with their urban planning department. And I've already got a job shadow before, and hopefully I will internship over the summer. If you choose Bishop, we're welcome to have you any day.

Are we excited? Are we excited over the fact that the Lions victors again yesterday?

Actually, I can't believe it. Yes.

Is this not feel weird that we go into games, and if we don't beat teams to the point where they're beaten to submission, we feel like we've not accomplished what we needed to accomplish? Like, I was like, why are we so close to these guys yesterday? You know, the Colts. And actually, the Colts, I felt like they were getting Jared Goff a little too much yesterday.

Do you know that was the first time I accidentally took a nap during a Lions game and I woke up not stressed? I woke up in a good mood. I saw that score and I went, we good, baby? That looked like a home game, by the way.

Oh, my God.

There's so many Lions fans there, which you've got to love.

And there were. I mean, it was wild. Actually, Crystal from our marketing department was there. I saw that. That was pretty cool. The other thing, too, is, you know, God, you're talking about taking naps. I feel like all I wanted was a nap this weekend because we were so busy. We were like all over everywhere from Toledo to Detroit to mid. I was actually did a quick trip like to just outside East Lansing. And I filled up my gas tank twice this weekend, which was wild. That's how much driving I was doing.

Did you fill up down in Toledo?

I did not. Should I? Why is that? It's much cheaper.

Significantly.

Oh, gosh. Now I'm going to drive to Toledo for gas.

Do you know when I'm real low and I'm going home, I'll put like $5 to $10 in my tank here and then I fill up down there? Really? Like, I'm not paying more for gas. I don't know.

Well, we thank you to everybody that came out to our toy-a-thon. That was actually fun. That was a really good time to get to hang out. Did a little shopping, too. Ended up buying myself a new phone. I needed a phone because my phone wasn't working with this control board. So I ended up slipping away and went to the Apple Store. Which, by the way, thank you to everybody at the Apple Store in Franklin Park. mall i the by the way so many listeners oh my god it was crazy i had one guy say to me they went at the apple store he's like hey i think i might be able to get you a discount on this one i listen every single morning i was like yes that doesn't happen at 12 oaks for me um i also heard if i'm not mistaken i heard that shannon uh might need to apologize to the franklin park mall bathroom

police oh my god well yes i i think i think the bathroom is unscathed but my hand is not we all know i have a teeny tiny temper just a little bit of a temper you guys let me jump on

me no no let me prove that for everybody here this is just proof i will f you up bitch i try

to not let it come out very often but megan and i were in the bathroom just like having a a conversation about something and clearly i got very very fired up about the subject matter at hand and i had washed my hands and you know the paper towel holders that have the sensor so like a sheet comes out and if you need more than a sheet gotta wave your hand over the sensor and then another sheet comes out the damn thing like one piece of a corner of a sheet came out and i could see it was full but nothing else was coming out so i finally banged on that thing so hard i'm I'm not joking. I think I broke my pinky finger. Really? Bing, bing, bing.

The way I snapped out of whatever we were talking about and just started dying laughing because I've heard about the legendary temper, but to see it so quickly. You've never witnessed it live? No, I have, but just so quickly erupted out of nowhere. That's what it sounded like. It was just a loud noise, and I immediately went from whatever I was feeling before to just a bubble of laughter that was uncontrollable.

What were you thinking when you're banging on it? You're thinking that it will straighten all the rest of the paper out and make the thing come out a little bit more?

I wasn't thinking. It was pure rage. If you've seen the movie Inside Out, I was anger in that moment. There were flames coming out of my head. Really?

Honestly, I wouldn't expect that much power. I thought if you and I ever got into a fist fight, sorry, but I'd kick your ass. I don't know about that. This is the first time where I was like, I don't think it would be super easy. I was like, that had some force behind it.

So did you get it to fix? Like, was it, or did you just pull it right off the wall? Of course, you bang on something and it works.

Is that what it is? Yeah.

I always feel like that's the thing, the motto for anything. You either bang on it or you plug and unplug it.

Right, turn it off and turn it on.

Like, yeah, you don't need much more than that. And you've done this in the past. Like, I've seen you get a little angry with certain things around here, and I've seen you kind of like pop them on the thing.

I think I'm just, like, I don't know if it's that time of the month or, because I don't, TMI, I don't get a period anymore, but I think it's probably that time of the month. And because Saturday night, then, I met you all for the Wings game at LCA, and we walked in that Google entrance, and, of course, you have to, like, show them, you know, what the contents of your purse. So I had this little crossbody purse on, and it has this funky magnet. You, like, push in the two sides of it. yeah and then it's supposed to pop open and the lady wanted to check my bag and i couldn't get the dang thing open and i'm trying and trying and trying west is like here let me help you i'm like no and i take it and i just rip it open broke my purse twice in one day wow came out so your own

personal belongings you'll do this with because i i try broken i try not to break my own personal things but i'll break anybody else's other stuff right dang it i really liked that purse can't use it again by the way this is rage that i don't know if wes has ever seen in the time has he yeah oh okay and he's still around i'm making sure that he doesn't like run at all from from any of this stuff wes it gets crazy you gotta be such a nice man well my favorite part of the paper towel

thing was immediately i was like well i have a i have a trick that i can show you and it didn't work for me i just turned around and i sucked it yeah then she sucked it wait what's your what is

your trick what did what is your trick to get that because i always i feel like the sensor things not so much that how they pull out i always feel like i can't get the water sensors to work for me when i'm in a bathroom or the sensor to give me more paper towel and then i'll start walking out of the bathroom and the thing will go and we'll come right back down so it won't give you more Paper towel, oh, you guys, I need that coffee to get here faster than it is. It won't give you more paper towel until you've ripped it, but you don't have to rip it. You can slightly pull on it and the sensor thinks that you've ripped off the paper towel so you can get a longer piece.

Okay. All right. And by the way, they're not very good at giving you a lot of paper towel. That's the one thing I hate. I hate those things. I think that's their goal is they think that you can, don't they understand we all have fat hands? He needed to rest up and he was sick and then he took today as a day off. he's going to be chaperoning Josiah's field trip. I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center. But it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, put in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be that you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out of the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State, with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.
