All right. It is Mojo in the morning. Phone number 844 Mojo live. Text is 95500. If you can relate to anything that we talk about, text call me and we will call you. Kevin's son, Josiah, had an ask of his dad. That is a very interesting ask. What was he asking you?

00:02:21 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 6:

So let's, because I'm getting cussed out in text messages right now. This is an active situation. So let's not use any names. Oh. Let's not use any names. Oh, yes, yes. Was it because of my tease? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, crap, I'm sorry. Social media always gets me in trouble. But it's okay. We don't have to run from the top because we can still talk about it. But let's just not use any names. No names. So Josiah wants to see his former sister, if you can put two and two together. and in the car this came out of nowhere like this isn't something that Josiah to me at least has mentioned for a while now but we're in the car yesterday when I pick him up from summer camp and he's like I want to see my sister I'll just say it like that I want to see my sister and I'm driving and I'm like where did this come from literally I can't even like it's almost like And the events that led up to that and the subsequent events thereafter, I don't even know what we were talking about that would have remotely put it in his brain to even think about this.

00:03:28 - 00:03:29 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:03:29 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 6:

But he's like, I want to see her. And I was like, OK. I couldn't even like ask why. It was just I was so shocked. Then he was like, and I don't want it to be on FaceTime. I want to see her in real life.

00:03:40 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 5:

Because how long has it been since he has seen her?

00:03:44 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 6:

I don't know. Like, she may have been at my mom's house maybe once. Okay, but it's been a while. And if that was it, it probably was, like, more than six months. Like, it probably was, like, a year, maybe something like that. Yeah. But I know he has a strong attachment. I know he has a love for her. You know, I know he cared for her. So I'm sure that still is in his heart.

00:04:00 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 5:

Because you guys all lived together for how long, a year?

00:04:04 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 6:

Almost. Almost a year. Oh, wow. Yeah, almost a year. and um so in that moment i was like yeah i'll reach out and see if you know that's something that um her mom would allow to even take place like if she even wanted that opportunity to be there for him to have yeah so i told him i was like you know i'll reach out and see i'll see if

00:04:27 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 7:

that's a possibility did you reach out yet or no i didn't you brought this to the air before you

00:04:31 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 6:

even reached out i didn't reach out when he was in the car okay because i didn't if it was a no Or if it was an uncomfortable conversation, I didn't want him to have to have that. But I did reach out last night.

00:04:42 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 7:

You did?

00:04:43 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I called. Okay. I said, hello. Hello. And then I just expressed her like I'm expressing y'all. Yeah. Josiah wants to see her. Is there any world that that would be acceptable in?

00:04:54 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 7:

Is it okay to ask how the conversation went?

00:04:57 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I think it went well. I don't have any.

00:05:00 - 00:05:01 | Speaker 4:

animosity towards. No, but I'm wondering

00:05:01 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 2:

will he get to see her? She said, yeah.

00:05:04 - 00:05:06 | Speaker 4:

She said she would be open to it.

00:05:06 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 2:

I feel like we have to, some people might be confused. Go ahead. No, this is your story. I'm saying some people might be confused as to why this sweet little girl was Josiah's

00:05:18 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 4:

sister and is now not. Okay, so for those who don't know, and again, I'm actively being cussed out so I don't want to give too much of the situation. Yeah, and don't give out too much. So I was in a relationship and I welcomed the child into the world to find out that the child wasn't mine.

00:05:33 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 3:

Right.

00:05:33 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 4:

And that was six months after the child was born. So that's where the connection with Josiah and the child formed and that. And yeah, to my knowledge, he probably hasn't seen her in almost a year.

00:05:46 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 2:

I am dying to know what sparked this in his little brain.

00:05:52 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 4:

I think I'm going to ask him today. Yeah. After I tell him that I did talk to her.

00:05:56 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 5:

does he see social media at all because of nah that ain't it okay because he doesn't he doesn't

00:06:02 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 4:

oh maybe this was it so i did a bunch of stuff yesterday but one of the things was i went over to my mom's house and my mom has a picture of her oh so it could it could have been that okay

00:06:14 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 5:

maybe that was it yeah um it's it's tough you know it's your relationship and we've talked about this with other you know situations here just recently on the show your relationship uh that you have is your kid's relationship too your child your children are as big a part of your relationship as you are and i think that for josiah who's growing up and boy he looks like a little man now like it's crazy and for him to you know to know that all of a sudden this is not going to we're not in this relationship anymore and this person's these people are not in my life it's got to be very difficult so it's i i actually feel warm inside so to speak that uh josiah wants

00:07:04 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 1:

to uh to see uh his little sister not that sorry to interrupt not that this would be a bad thing but do you see this turning into something where like he sees her once and then this is he wants to continue seeing her and would you be okay with that yeah I don't I don't I don't have anything

00:07:21 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 4:

you know wrong with it it's that I kind of look at that the same way I've looked at the people in my life who have asked me if they need to cut ties with with her or if they continued a relationship how would I feel and I've always said do your thing don't allow my decision to impact your decision and your relationship with the person and if Josiah wanted to see her and wanted to form a relationship i would help support that you know 100 hey melody what's up

00:07:51 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 3:

hi what's going on um just so i came at like growing up from a like that parent household where we got together really young and at first we all thought growing up that we were all related it turns out the father who we thought was all of our fathers wasn't my biological dad and then they ended up getting a divorce but when I was like 14 I was a little bit older I always started asking about like my step brother and my step sister because we had different dads we didn't see them as much and so I kind of get where his son is coming from where it's like you kind of grew up a little bit and you developed a relationship so it's easy to have like a trigger of like oh well my sister used to do this or bring back that memory but it's definitely hard thinking now as a parent that if it's something you want your kid to actively stay around for and i don't see a problem staying together and staying in contact but if it's not something that an active relationship is going to be played on then you don't want to keep a relationship going here and there, you kind of have to judge, is it worth it?

00:09:08 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 5:

Let me ask you a quick question because I want to understand this better. So you had step-siblings, and then all of a sudden your mom and this man who you thought was your dad left each other. And then she pulls you away from these step-siblings, but you're still wanting to be with your step-siblings. So did you ever have a relationship with the step-siblings

00:09:32 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 3:

after your mom and this man left each other yeah so we we actually grew up until i was about 12 thinking because my mom and dad i still refer to like my stepdad now as my dad because we still

00:09:46 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 5:

have a relationship oh wow so even though he's not your actual not even though he's not your

00:09:50 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

biological father you still are close with them yeah and we all grew up thinking we were all related yeah and then before when they knew that

00:10:00 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 5:

was coming and i wasn't going to be with my stepdad as much because he you know he's not my biological father i don't really have a reason to go see him that's when like my mom and him broke the news it was like you guys aren't you know blood related and so i never seen my step siblings again who i thought at the time were my real siblings yeah yeah how old were you when all of that happened when they broke the news uh i was about 11 to 12 before they officially like told me about it and then got divorced and i'll talk about 14 we were in school and we were doing like a family tree project and i was like well do i count them like i grew up

00:10:42 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 6:

wow thinking that that's interesting i wonder what josiah would do if he had to do like the

00:10:48 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 7:

family tree thing would he ever i think he had to do it last year and i don't think he didn't okay

00:10:53 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 6:

that's it that's interesting um i know that you said and we're keeping names and stuff out of this thing and you're getting texts right now text and tell her i said that i miss her and i love her

00:11:06 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 3:

and yeah sure and we all let's leave a voice that is what i love about that situation is there's no like yuck i mean i'm sure there is but like you for you to even contemplate this and be like yeah I would be okay with it. I think it speaks volumes about both of you. It really does.

00:11:22 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 7:

Well.

00:11:23 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 3:

Okay. All right. Well, I'm not seeing the texts you're seeing.

00:11:28 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 6:

It's, you know what? It's, uh.

00:11:31 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 3:

Truly, though, the fact that you didn't look in the backseat at Josiah, or I don't know if he's in the front seat, whatever, that you didn't look at Josiah and go, absolutely not, never, ever.

00:11:38 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. That is actually wonderful. So. Alicia, what's up?

00:11:44 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 4:

Hi. Kevin, I met you at Greenfield Village over the weekend. Yes.

00:11:49 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, what's up? First time long time, she said? Yeah. That's all on the phone, too.

00:11:54 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 7:

Alicia on the phone.

00:11:56 - 00:12:20 | Speaker 4:

Yes. Kevin, I think that you are doing a great job with Josiah. I am so proud of you. Thank you. It takes a lot to reach out to an ex and to have a relationship. And so you doing that for Josiah speaks, really, volumes. And I pray for you guys. Thank you. I may get cheery-eyed, but I'm just so proud of you.

00:12:20 - 00:12:23 | Speaker 7:

Thank you. And it was great to meet you and your family. I appreciate you.

00:12:24 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 4:

It was really great to meet you, too. You are such a sweet and kind guy.

00:12:28 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 6:

Thank you. Can I say something real quick? Yeah, definitely. I wanted to say it's interesting. Your mom is still so much in love with your past relationship. She loves this woman like she was her daughter. I wonder if it would have been good for you instead of just reaching out to say to your mom hey can you reach out

00:12:50 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 7:

I don't need no media

00:12:52 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 6:

obviously you said that maybe Josiah saw the picture in your mom's house your mom is still close

00:12:58 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 7:

I think there are times where having your parents in your relationship is beneficial and then I think there are alternate times where as an adult you have to step up and handle something on your own and i don't need to go through my mom you know i'm saying to handle this i got her number i could call her yeah no

00:13:22 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 6:

it's it's interesting i mean it's uh because i know it's funny we brought up this before on the air and um you have have said in the past that you think that your mom might be a little still too close or still wanting you to to do this you're right she lived you know what in reality you are still close and so is Josiah because that was part of your history history yeah well you know what sometimes history comes back to repeat and that's what you want you want us to get back

00:13:49 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 7:

together so bad I don't yes you do you said that earlier I do I love her okay pay for our wedding

00:13:59 - 00:14:28 | Speaker 2:
