All right, it's Mojo in the morning. Kev had one of the coolest things ever, he said, happened to him last night. And it was at parent-teacher conferences for his son, Josiah.

I am so blessed, man, to have Josiah as my son. He is the most incredible person. And it is one thing to understand that and know that for yourself as a parent. it's another thing when other people recognize it like you on the show and friends and family and people who i see out but to understand that he doesn't change when he enters school is a feeling i can't even put into words and we go to parent teacher conference yesterday it's student-led conference now josiah has notoriously been an amazing academic student his nickname is 4.0 joe because that is what he brings home wow he has i think six classes three of them he has a pluses and then the other three he calls them regular a's because they don't have regular a's and i got a pluses that's very cute you know so i don't go in there thank god walking in there having to have the tough conversation of why is my child failing but i still don't want to just leave it up as like you're doing good i don't care like we still want to be active and apart and let the teachers know who we are and know that we care so we go in and man it really it was a moment where i almost cried i had to do one of those i know megan say like women they had those moments where they gotta like pull it together i had one of those moments where i gotta like pull it together and not let the denzel washington glory single tear roll down my cheek wow but that man that's a visual yeah his teacher is saying like it is a testament to what you guys are doing at home not only is he a great student but he takes the time to help other kids be great students as well they said he was an example one of the teachers has a nephew in the class big shout out to chase he said chase was going in a different path and the teacher had told him monitor who you're hanging around with he said the guy has been sitting next to josiah and now his grades have changed his attitude has changed and he said it's a it's big piece of it is because of who josiah is and i'm just sitting there like this is my son bro like wow i got i

I can see your eyes watering up right now.

It really affected me because you can know it. You can know in your heart that your children are special and whatever the case may be. But to see a scholar or a teacher recognize that in your child. And they see thousands of kids, right? Like I only have Josiah as far as like 11 year old and like having life and, you know, doing life with a child of that age. yeah but to hear it from a teacher who's had thousands of children cycle through it was a woman who's spent 13 years teaching and she's like i've never had anyone like him wow it was

those moments that really spoke volumes can i thank you can i tell you the greatest compliment is not about an a plus the greatest compliment is the influence that he is on the others and to know that he's doing that like to me yeah that you know you grades are grades right there's you know that's awesome that's cool what will take them through life is being the guy that lifts up others to to make them better that's awesome that's huge yeah by the way if you really would like to know what it's like to have a teacher tell you that your kid's an idiot go to parent teacher conferences for joe my son your joe and my joe are different joes actually

Your Joe is my Jacob. I went to parent-teacher conferences once for Jacob in high school at Notre Dame Prep. And three teachers in, they said, why are you here? They were like, he's actually great. And then they started talking about his brother Joe that wasn't even in their class and how he was.

You see some of those parents who walk out of the rooms and you can look at their faces and see it's not about to be a good ride home.

That's amazing. You know what? I like starting off the morning with something really positive like this. I think that that's awesome. Are there any other parents that want to share something kind of cool about their kid and tell us something that they learned about their kid at a parent-teacher conference, 844-MOJO-LIVE or text 95500? it was some of those moments man you see these kids walking out of the room and he like he gonna get his ass beat do you guys

do you do it when you do parents teacher conferences do you wait out in front of the like do they have a couple chairs waiting in front of the room for like the next up

bro so first off it was no school yesterday and they opened the parents conference from 9 a.m to 5 p.m okay and we went around 3 3 30 and in my mind i'm thinking i don't know why i thought we were gonna slide in there and it was gonna be late and nobody was gonna show up that bitch was packed y'all i guess everybody had caught off work or got out of work a little early and they were there they had the chairs to your point yeah sitting all up front you got to sit there and wait for the people to cycle in some of these teachers talk so damn much you're like oh my god i'm here and sitting and waiting for math for 30 minutes.

Yeah.

But it was incredible.

You know what? It reminds me of going to vote. That's what it reminds me of. You got to sit there and wait to do it. Did you ever hear the story about when we went to go parent-teacher conference for Luke and the teacher didn't know who Luke was?

Oh, what?

Like, I had no clue who Luke was. We're like, this is no joke. It was a teacher that asked to see his picture. Can I see Chelsea?

Is he a really quiet kid?

No. That's the part that was so crazy. That's crazy, though. And they're like, oh, it was his Spanish teacher. He had a Spanish teacher in grade school. And the, oh, senor, blah, blah, blah, blah, whatever they call them, Lukey or Luca.

The only thing with those teachers is you get every student.

You don't have a class of three.

You have a school of 2000s.

Yeah. Right.

I need you to call my name during attendance, though, and actually look at me.

Hi so I got the phone call Hey why does your kid Have such an attitude And I literally said to the teacher It's been going on for 15 years I don't know I'm working on it

Sally you don't think he got his attitude From his mother did he

um well wait you'll get this mojo he is the youngest of four oh yeah yeah yeah so you know he's gotta make his face in the world sure everything so yeah there you go for his voice to be heard you gotta be a little rough and tough and i like it i was i was cracking up because he's like, why? And I'm like, I don't know.

Doing good. So at the parent-teacher conference I went to, like Josiah, my kid's a really good kid. I don't really have to walk in and worry about anything happening or, you know, usually we get, you know, all positive comments. But I found out that she's so kind to others in school that she was chosen for a program to actually be let out of some of her regular classes to help with the cognitively impaired kids when they're doing, like, you know, gym programs where they don't have enough kids to, like, play makeup teams. So they'll come and grab her from a class and have her help out.

It's awesome. Congratulations, Dad. Nice work to both of you guys, Kev and Brian. Great job, Dads, for doing great work with your kids.

Yeah, the kids definitely make it easy, and I'm sure Kevin can reiterate to that and attest to that. Like, you know, the drive of the child is different, and they make it easy and a joy to be that child's parent. That's right.
