Something surprising happened during the throwback throwdown today. You'll hear that coming up before we leave. The college guy, Mike, busting his girlfriend, cheating when she was taking the condoms from his apartment and using them, obviously, for some other guy named Nick. That one was a pretty crazy one. And then the friend who thought that her best friend, Amanda was her name, thought that her best friend, Amy's boyfriend, was cheating. And we ended up catching him, but then it got people wondering what Amanda's whole story was about and why she was getting involved. Go listen to that back on the podcast. I grew up in the area where we had that, like, it was like the boombox on your dresser, and it had two speakers that were attached to it. Remember boombox? I remember.

I had a clock radio up until about a week or so ago. Chelsea's like, that thing's collecting dust. I don't like getting rid of, you can tell I don't like getting rid of stuff. I talked this morning about that. But I usually have a clock radio, and I'm telling you, the alarm was the only alarm that would wake my ass up for the 25 years or so that I've been doing this damn show. And I'm going to tell you something. Getting rid of that thing has screwed me up. I can't figure out why my alarm on my phone, I think the new update, the alarm is soft.

It's so quiet. And it turns itself off, and it turns off your phone. I don't understand.

I think they're trying to get you all fired from your job so that you lose your job. So they can bring robots. What is that all about?

I want to introduce you guys to somebody, and then I'm going to have Jason Derulo on from yesterday, where Kev did Jason Derulo for him 8,000 times. He said, Jason Derulo, 8,000 times the entire time. And by the way, the other thing, too, is we did a Zoom in this thing. Jason Derulo had his shirt buttoned down to his penis Did you notice that?

and he was hot It was pretty wild In studio with us and I want you to remember this name, her name is Trisha Dare I want you to know that name The only reason why I want you to know that name is in a week or so from now if you see one of her signs on the side of the road I'm going to call her ass up and say get rid of this sign on the side of the road she's got the biggest freaking political signs i have ever seen in my life you literally i i think that that your signs are the most noticeable of any of the political signs that are out there she's running for judge in oakland county michigan what is it what kind of judge are you running to be um it's circuit court so circuit court okay and you're you're a former prosecutor right i'm still a prosecutor are you a prosecutor right now so you don't have to step down as prosecutor when you run for judge no no i'm not the prosecutor you're okay you're one of this woman by the way has fought for more women's rights than anybody you actually you've you have fought you have prosecuted more criminal cases of violence against women than anybody in the oakland county

it's funny i uh i've known you for just a short time but i got to know you and know of you through that horrible tragedy that took place in Oxford, the shooting that took place. Actually, I think, if I'm not mistaken, your daughter dated Tate, right? The young man that lost, one of the young people that lost her life.

how you doing i'm doing good now yeah yeah yeah i um i go to college at alabama the university of alabama whoa i think also getting away from oxford for a bit was definitely a step in the right direction and i think it's made me a stronger person um being far away on the anniversary and everything it's a little challenging but my mom sends me stuff so it's really sweet

yeah do you uh will you say a couple uh words about tate and what we we heard so many wonderful things about everybody from oxford i mean every one of these kids that that went through this

incredible community yeah but he's really just a special guy tate was a he was well he's a hell of an athlete oh yeah but it goes so beyond far that um he was just the most amazing person lifted everybody's spirits you see him in the hallway he's always smiling joking around you know just with all his friends and it just shows how lively of a person he is he was awesome and

uh trisha you because of that event and other events that you've seen you have said to yourself as prosecutor as one of the prosecuting attorneys i can only do so much you felt like i need to to to take it to the next level and that's what made you decide that you wanted to be a judge

right right um so it was hard for me because what i've done i've done crimes against children things like that if my daughter wasn't in that school i'm guessing i probably would have been a prosecutor on that case so it's really frustrating for me to have to sit back and not be involved in that case because of that um but like when the case happened like one of the first things that i thought of like gosh i hope we get a good judge we need a good judge we need somebody who's going to be fair, who's not going to play politics on the bench, who's just going to do what you're supposed to do and give everybody their day in court.

And there is a fine line between that because I'm sure that when you are a judge, instantly the first thing that comes into play is who you are as a person, being a mom. And when you see children that were terrorized by what took place, you instantly are like, all right, I'm throwing the book at somebody. But you have to give them a fair trial. That is what our judicial system is all about. And we also have to weigh that this kid probably had a pretty crappy life, too.

Absolutely, absolutely. And I think that happened in this case. And one of the worst things that could happen, like I do a lot of child sexual assault cases, domestic violence cases. The worst thing that can happen is if you don't do it right, then it's going to come back and you're going to do it over again, which would just be awful, especially in that case.

Well, it would be awful for the victim's families.

Yes.

To have to go through that whole thing all over again. Trisha Dare is her name. She's running for judge. I can't endorse because of the legal things, but I will tell you that I can personally vote. And that's all I can say. I dare you. I don't need another meeting. How much of you wanting to run for this bench is because you have children and you have a daughter and you just want to make sure that you can keep, you know, your county clean and protected.

Yeah, that's a lot of it. A lot of it, too, is just, you know, I've spent my career working with, you know, a lot of work with victims. And I think there's so much more work that can be done. You know, you can work with people who appear before you for other reasons. And, yeah, I just want to keep Oakland County safe, keep it a good place for people to raise their families and live.

Can I tell you what I was most amazed by? So I have a bunch of friends that know Tricia, a lot of people that honestly are attorneys who have gone against her and have been defense attorneys. And they say she's fair, but she's tough. She's a person who their firms have tried to hire, but she won't go and work for them, where you could probably make a lot more money working for one of these firms. and they all say that she is one of these people that it's unusual that you see this. She has the support of the prosecutor who is a Democrat and the support of the sheriff who is a Republican. It's very rare that you see that, right?

Right, right.
