Hey guys, Bobby Bones here, host of The Bobby Bones Show. I'm always tired because I wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning, but it's all worth it because I get to hang out with all my friends and my studio. We share our lives. We look for as much good in the world as we possibly can with Tell Me Something Good, and we talk through the biggest news stories of the day, and also your biggest and favorite country artists are always stopping by. On the Gulf Coast, check us out on 95KSJ, and lock us in as a preset on the free iHeartRadio app today.

00:00:58 - 00:01:15 | Speaker 3:

so uh shannon uh west does something that's interesting i want to see if this is something that uh that i do and others do and i actually i don't think it's something that i necessarily do now but i think i did it when i was a kid and he's still doing it right now having mommy drop

00:01:15 - 00:01:26 | Speaker 5:

him off okay well that's weird to call me mommy well when i'm talking about by the way do you think you guys will ever be the couple that call each other mom and dad never ever no oh i hate it

00:01:26 - 00:01:36 | Speaker 3:

When they do it, it seems creepy, doesn't it? Yes. It kind of makes me actually think to myself when you say mom or mommy that they have like weird roles in the house.

00:01:37 - 00:01:38 | Speaker 5:

Smack me upside the head.

00:01:38 - 00:01:39 | Speaker 3:

Mommy likey.

00:01:39 - 00:01:43 | Speaker 6:

If you ever hear me say that. That includes old lady and old man because that's what you call your parents do.

00:01:44 - 00:01:55 | Speaker 3:

Well, old lady, old man. But when an old couple says mommy and daddy, I actually am fine with it. But when a couple is middle-aged or younger or maybe a little older than middle-aged, they cannot do it to each other.

00:01:55 - 00:01:55 | Speaker 5:

No.

00:01:55 - 00:01:57 | Speaker 3:

But two 80-year-olds can do it.

00:01:57 - 00:02:00 | Speaker 5:

My sister calls my brother-in-law a big daddy.

00:02:00 - 00:02:01 | Speaker 3:

Oh, really? No.

00:02:01 - 00:02:06 | Speaker 5:

And it's like a joke in our family. That's the only acceptable one to me. Really?

00:02:07 - 00:02:16 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. Big daddy. Really? You allow that? I'm surprised you would allow that. Because it's so funny. I don't know. I think big daddy is not a good one.

00:02:16 - 00:03:48 | Speaker 5:

I wonder if he knows that she calls him that. I think she said it, actually. I think she said it in front of him as I'm saying this. I'm like, maybe he doesn't know. But I don't know. Anyway, so remember this golf thing that I told you that Wes is all of a sudden all into now? He's addicted. He, he, addicted is, it's an accurate word. He is addicted and he, he took on the sport again because I think he, he played here and there. Nothing serious when he was younger, but he, he was asked to relearn how to play golf because he is now working in an environment where that's a frequent activity. That's how they meet with clients, whatever. he actually went on a business trip last week and they played and he had a great time well his new thing is if I am running errands like for example on a Saturday or Sunday if we go if I have to go to Costco and Target and the car wash I love going to the car wash but it's it's technically our time to spend together because we are like two ships passing during the week we never see each other because we are both so busy so it's time that's supposed to be spent together but no he will now say to me hey can you just do you think that because it's right across the street from Costco can you drop me off at Carl's Golf Land so I can hit some balls and then you just text me when you're done with all your errands and then you come back and pick me up when you're done and I'm like so I did but I felt I literally felt like I was picking up my kids from a play date when I texted him on the way I roll up to Carl's Golf Land and there he is outside with This club's waiting for me.

00:03:48 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 6:

But also, why can't he run errands with you? Because he wants to go hit balls. No, you get to do that on your own free time. You are here to be my companion while I run errands. That is your responsibility as a spouse.

00:04:02 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 5:

Don't leave me at Costco by myself.

00:04:03 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 6:

Correct. And then you'll get mad at the things I buy or don't get. You need to be there.

00:04:08 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 3:

When I was a kid, my mom used to do this with us when she would go to the grocery store because she didn't want all of us asking for surprises. We'd always say, can we have a surprise? Like, we'd get to pick stuff out, or we'd pick out Doritos and things. She would drop us off at the library that was right down the street, and then she would come back and pick us up, and then we would have to, like, come out. But it was kind of her free time. You're saying that Wes is the kid, basically, in this relationship, letting his mom go to the grocery store, and he's being dropped off at the Carl's Golf Land.

00:04:40 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 5:

Why, yes.

00:04:41 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 3:

I kind of like this.

00:04:42 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 4:

No. I knew you were. I kind of like it. It brings back memories of me. Well, Mojo's going to not want to go on any errand running anymore. No, I kind of like that. You go grocery shopping and drop me off at Ulta. Yeah!

00:04:53 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 6:

That's not how this works.

00:04:55 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 3:

See, this doesn't, by the way, this doesn't happen in our relationship because we've been married so long. We look at running.

00:05:00 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 2:

errands as a way to get away from each other so this is this is kind of like you guys are still new in your relationship where you like to like go run errands with each other and we get truly we

00:05:09 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 3:

get very little time together right and this should be 50 50 you take half the errands i'll take half the errands you then get to go to carl's afterwards and i get to go watch a television show why am i doing all the errands while you get to go have fun that's true The balls are more important than me Golf balls

00:05:27 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 2:

Chelsea also won't let me go into Costco Without being next to her side the entire time Because she knows I'll come back with a gazebo I'll randomly go Hey, you're never going to believe this I just grabbed this They're going to put it in our car What is that? It's a tool shed What do you need a tool shed for?

00:05:44 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 3:

I have an outdoor space heater and a rotisserie chicken Let's go

00:05:47 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 2:

Both those things are actually on my list right now 844-MOJO-LIVE 844-665-6548 do any couples do this where you guys go run errands together and the one in the couple gets to go do something fun instead of having to run the errands what's the story by the way we're having signal issues have we heard anything from the engineers about this I feel like our engineers

00:06:09 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 4:

Mark's not around so he must be working on something

00:06:12 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 2:

did they give up on us a while back or do we know that if they are working on us I guess we have some signal problems

00:06:17 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 4:

Tony and the engineers know so they must be working on it so I don't have to panic

00:06:22 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 2:

at all that we are right now ratingless we have no ratings going coming in right now we're gonna get beat by uh you know the wdvd station this month because of the uh the signal is so bad um all right uh oh look at these text messages for okay this goes back this is interesting shannon you should try to call wes poppy poppy doesn't sound as creepy Going back to referring to the mom or dad thing. Oh, yeah, daddy.

00:06:58 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 3:

Ugh.

00:06:58 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Ugh. Remember Mike and... Allie. Allie. I was going to get to it. I had it.

00:07:06 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 3:

I was trying to be a friend.

00:07:07 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 2:

I was going to get to it. Mike and Allie would do that whole thing. But they can. Because they're Latin.

00:07:14 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 3:

No, I just think they're passionately in love with each other in a way that is gross. Yeah.

00:07:18 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 2:

That is true, by the way. They are really still in love.

00:07:20 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 3:

Like they actually like each other.

00:07:23 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 2:

I saw Mike post a picture of them driving with the smiles on the faces yesterday. And I'm going, look at those guys. They are sickly in love with each other.

00:07:31 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 4:

I am very in love with my husband. But if I came home or tonight in bed said, hey, Poppy, he'd be like, something's going on. What's wrong with you?

00:07:40 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 2:

Do you think you should take it? Do you think, by the way, do you think that Allie drops Mike off at, like, the train store? We're like, what is Mike into? What is Mike?

00:07:52 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 3:

No, you know Mike? No, Mike is right next to her holding all of the bags. Mike's the husband we're all looking for. He's like, what can I grab from you? Give me half of the list. I'll meet you at the cash register. That's what we're looking for. That's what we are looking for. You know what I just thought of?

00:08:08 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 2:

His balls are in her purse.

00:08:10 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 3:

And they're happy. And what did we just say?

00:08:12 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 4:

They're the happiest couple that we know.

00:08:15 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 2:

Amazing. What were we going to say?

00:08:16 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 4:

I have this in my back pocket now because you know what my dreaded errand is with him is freaking Home Depot or Lowe's. And I am there for like two hours. And now this is going to be my thing. Can you just drop me off?

00:08:31 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, where will you have them drop you off? Anywhere except for Home Depot. Home goods.

00:08:35 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 1:

We'll be at the homes.

00:08:37 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 2:

What's up, Pamela?

00:08:39 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 1:

Good morning. I can relate to everybody across the board. I'll be married 20 years this summer, about five years into marriage. Thank you. We ran into this thing similar. It was a convenience thing, so I would go grocery shopping. He would ride with me. Oh, can you drop me off at Barnes & Noble? I want to look at a couple of magazines and then pick me up when you're done. Very similar.

00:09:03 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 2:

Isn't that funny? Terrible.

00:09:05 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 1:

His obsession was reading.

00:09:07 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 4:

I don't know why. did i i felt so weird rolling up and having him like get into the car it just i don't know i agree

00:09:14 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 1:

and then so like the the mom and dad thing we've kind of come in and out of that with um when we're with our kids usually we're referencing each other as mom and dad in public just the two of us know that's that's weird um and then like mojo said the the longer you've been married you look at outings as a way of escaping your spouse for a while so we kind of outgrown the the air and run drop me off it's like leave me alone and it's like

00:09:42 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 2:

bye yeah it's it's your time it's a free it's a free time for you uh thanks for the call appreciate

00:09:46 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 4:

it what's up melissa hi how are you guys good morning good morning good yeah what's good we're good what's going on um two places my husband is not trusted at and i hope he's listening Costco and Cabela's.

00:09:59 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh.

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 5:

Absolutely not. I've never been to a Cabela's.

00:10:02 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 2:

Cabela's, you get lost in the place. There's so much crap in there. That's what I love.

00:10:05 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 5:

But Cabela's has saltwater taffy. So I'm happy to go.

00:10:09 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 2:

Cabela's is Dick's Sporting Goods on steroids. Yes.

00:10:13 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 5:

He's a huge hunter. So every time he tells me he's going, I'm like, oh, my God. He's like, well, Cabela's is like your Target. But I'm actually getting stuff for the house.

00:10:22 - 00:10:47 | Speaker 2:

Target's an interesting one. That's an interesting one where I feel like we go into Target and we go in for like two things. And the next thing you know, if I go with, I completely throw her off her game. And I'm buying like, I don't know, I'm buying packs of paper and spiral notebooks. She's like, where are you going back to school? I'm like, we need this for the office. And then snacks. I find myself buying snacks all the time, too.

00:10:47 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 5:

I love a good shopping snack.

00:10:49 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 2:

Chelsea, these are gluten-free and healthy.

00:10:51 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, my son gives me crap about that. Because I'm like, well, I'm going to pay for it. I just, I need a snack while I'm shopping. Oh, you eat the snack in the store. Oh, I get hungry. I'm like, I need a snack. No, I'm going to pay for it. That's stealing. That's straight up stealing. That's stealing. You pay for it.

00:11:07 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 2:

You're good.

00:11:08 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 5:

You pay for it at the end.

00:11:09 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 2:

You're good doing that.

00:11:10 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 3:

No, I don't like that.

00:11:12 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 2:

Holly, what's up?

00:11:14 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 3:

Hey, guys. Good morning. Good morning.

00:11:16 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 2:

What's going on?

00:11:18 - 00:12:07 | Speaker 3:

Okay, so I've been with my mate for like, well, it'll be 14 years this year. And we do have kids together. I only reference him as dad when it's something that involves the kids. But anything outside of that, I find weird. But that trip to Dollar Tree is like a vacation. When I say those people, first of all, I'm in there being nice to people, pointing out stuff to them. Hey, you looking for something? Like, I'm trying to spend as much time in Dollar Tree as I possibly can with these people. And then I'm leaving out and they're like, hey, Holly, all right, have a good day. I'm like, I'll see you tomorrow. That is a lifesaver at moments. And if anybody wants to go with me, I'm offended. No. I'm going to my Dollar Tree. Then I'll come with me.

00:12:08 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 2:

That's great, Holly. We love you. Thank you. Take care of yourself. Jay, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:12:16 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 6:

Hey, just wanted a first time, long time.

00:12:18 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 2:

Hey, Cavs out today, so we got to make up for that. What's going on?

00:12:25 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 6:

No worries. My wife sent me to Costco to go get a pair of towels, and I walked out with a Blackstone.

00:12:31 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 1:

And I'm not allowed to go to Costco alone. You can buy those there? Oh, yeah. Yeah, you can. Are those good, girls?

00:12:36 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 2:

Jay, you got to be careful. I walked out one time with a new cell phone playing. I have no idea why. They have diamonds. They've got computers. They got it all in that place. It's crazy.

00:12:45 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 6:

Oh, wow.

00:12:46 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. You got to be careful. I actually one time wanted to buy a cash register. They had a cash register there. When I was a little kid, that was my favorite toy.

00:12:53 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah.

00:12:54 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 2:

Dee, one last call on this, and then I've got to move on. What's going on, Dee?

00:12:58 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 4:

Hi, Moja. Hi, Shannon. I just want to let you know, Shannon, I've been married for 35 years. My husband and I got married when we were 18. I cannot believe you do not know the holy grail. What me and my girlfriends do is we order everything ahead of time to be picked up. We go have our coffee. We go shopping. We go get our nails done and we go get a pedicure and we throw the clothes in with the Costco stuff. Take them off the rack, take them out of the bag. And he has no clue. Where'd you get that? Costco. Okay, I got that from Nordstrom. He never looked. I cannot believe you don't know how to do this.

00:13:32 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 2:

That is very smart. That is a great thing. Brilliant.

00:13:34 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 5:

That's what we do.

00:13:35 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 2:

Dee, Dee, you're a bad influence. You're a bad influence. I know.

00:13:39 - 00:14:08 | Speaker 1:

Love you, Dee. The first season of the X Games League is ending in New Orleans. and only one team walks away champion.
